You informed her that as a hollow you don’t technically have a heart and she promptly left due to having her mind blown or to plan on murdering you and wearing your skin like a Risa suit. You went back to the shrine and visited some people and Sin-Fin discovered if you rub one of your tails in a certain spot in a certain way you get all sorts of sleepy and had a nice lay down.

Then you woke up, felt up her butt a bit, and went to see Hiroshi. You promised him a date and heard Mari was teaching her kids super-secret Quincy techniques. Your date is for tomorrow on the Rape Island, aka Bardwah’s Folly because seriously names are not that hard come on, and then decided to go wander around outside so that you would not jump back in during a narrative event like a conversation, thus freeing you from any past reading and allowing you to jump in. “I thought I went outside because it is a nice day out and I wanted to try hitting people with a stick.” You say.

Just keep thinking that.

“Ryoko could probably use some cheering up.” You say sniffing the air.

Ryoko’s smell leads into town, so you sonido over to her place and tap on the window. She doesn’t answer, so you use your freaky portal power to undo the latch and climb in, well aware of the deadly stairs which connect the lower level to the top. You hop into her room and look back at her.

She is looking better than the last time you saw her, no longer quite as pale. Bandages are covering her chest, and the strange black infectious thing which was crawling around inside her doesn’t seem to still have hold of her. You lean in close to her sleeping face and sniff her, getting a whiff of her energy in the process. Her Berserker parts seem to be reasserting themselves inside her, and you think it is probably taking so long because you only got her some butcher shop level healing immediately after it happened.

You tap your chin as she lets out a strange Ryoko sound and looks over at you. “Ah, sensei.” She sleepily offers as greeting.

“Hello Ryoko.” You reply lyrically, keeping a certain rhyme to your voice. “Just coming in to check up on you, see how you were doing, all that jazz.”

“It still sort of stings, but it is getting better.” She explains. “Er, is that the only reason you are here?’ She asks a little hopefully maybe.

Guess the shinigami cleaned it all up but it was, like, pretty scary.” She explains. “Then I got strong and I thought I couldn’t be beat but I guess this was an eye opener. The quincies made things just to beat me and no matter what I do I can’t beat it.”

“Don’t let it get you down there are lots of blokes even I can’t beat.” You explain. “Sometimes life gives you a cross deal all you can do is find some way around it.”

Ryoko looks at you like you are spewing locusts from your nose, making you check to make sure you didn’t shapeshift something obscene onto your face. Finally she shakes her head and says “There are things you can’t hope to beat? Like what? You talk about your master plan which involves you beating everyone and everything. What could you possible never defeat?”

“Stairs. Mobius Strips. Boss Cat.” You narrow your eyes in frustration. “Bruce Lee.”

“Bruce Lee is dead sensei.” Ryoko explains making you shake your head.

You sonido to the main building and climb the walls, never touching stairs as long as you can help it. You open the window and see Sin-Fin is sitting on her bed once more, staring down at her feet.

You do a cool roll over the floor and strike a pose on the ground next to her. She doesn’t clap or anything but you are certain her silence is in either admiration of your rolling on the ground skills or because she is always quiet and that is just how she is.

She stares at you and you offer a thumbs up in greeting. “Hello Sin-Fin, I require your aid on matters of social information.”

At the cost of that Fatebreaker being considered spent until the moment they would have died. Efffectively, they use the fatebreak themselves when they would have died/been horribly wounded.

You reach into the dough and start working it, then start making the inside parts, your nimble fingers gently creating what is to be a ‘You are special and I sort of want to do you’ pie. You nod as you grab your secret ingredients and get ready to put it in when Jager stops you.

“Okay, stop there. Risa, what’s that in your hand?” Jager asks crossing her arms.

You look over at the squirming creature. “Well, it looks to be a soft shelled turtle doesn’t it?” You ask tilting your head.

“Why is there a soft shelled turtle in your hands?” She asks.

“Fu fu fu, the tender meaty insides of the turtle, when baked, will cause its blood to fuse with the ingredients making them have a spice to it that-“ You start.

“Rejected. Put it back where you got it.” Jager commands.

You grumble and put the turtle back in your pants, unhappy. You resume cooking your creation and Jager stops you from adding countless cooking materials you saw in a cooking comic which you couldn’t read the words to. You finally put it in the oven and set it to baking. You wait until Jager has gotten a book to read before you start shoving pieces of your will into the baking treat. You shove your will into the thing until it is finished.

As you pull open the oven you hear dramatic Gregorian chanting fill the room in the form of some dramatic song. Jager makes a face as you close the oven and the music stops. You glance around and open the oven again, the music filling the room as the pie is born. You close it and narrow your gaze untrusting, opening it quickly and then close it again as just a sliver of the music comes out. You nod slowly understanding.

“Oh for the love of god Risa, the music is coming from the pie. What did you do?” Jager demands.

“I fixed it?” You ask.
