The first problem, you see as they descend in a supposed flurry of death and destruction, is that the eponymous Anonimous think they are ninjas. Black masks, black clothing (which no fuckin' ninja in their right mind fuckin' wears....EVER), and totally useless poses (you thought your little sister had bad form, but holy shit, these idiots are already in recovery poses for landing, not attack stances!). Second problem, their 'weapons' are, from left to right, a camera, a blank doujinshi page layout book and pen, and a microphone and recorder set, with the microphone actually wired into the recorder. Finally, everything about these three oni-born screams 'I took a couple of karate classes online and am totally an expert!'

Still, they are oni, which means they're incredibly tough, inhumanly strong (possibly stronger than you are in one case, he's nearly two feet taller than you), and going to be nearly invulnerable to any bludgeoning strikes or impact damage you inflict. Wood – now named Blockhead – is the one on the right, and armed with the microphone-recorder; don't say anything terribly incriminating. Void – now named Numbskull – is the short one in the center armed with the doujinshi and pen, and he might actually be a little dangerous because magic combined with ink and paper can be a threat. Water – now named That Guy – is the tallest and armed with the camera and is probably physically stronger than you are.

It's almost not even worth bothering with. Nonetheless, you really don't want them thinking they can do this all the time. On the other hand they're looking pretty freakin' harmless....

You leap up to meet them and draw your wakizashi before they even have time to react to you standing there. By the time you are past them, they're almost on the ground, and you've sheathed your wakizashi. By the time they land, you've landed behind them still facing their direction. And they're still looking at the door like you're still there.

“Kch. Kchhhehehehe....” You really can't help it. Your giggles become laughter and then whip around, lifting their 'weapons'....which fall apart even as they lift them up, bits of metal, plastic, confetti, and ink spattering on the ground. Miko-Kiku steps quietly out of the door, her sleeve up over her mouth, looking at the oni that are shocked at the loss of their treasures, standing silently behind them.

“You can't do that to us, we're the personal army of the Kumatori Kiki Fan Club – Tak, Takei, and Takeda!” Each one steps forward as his name is called – just like some shonen TV show.

As your eyes narrow, Takei leans over to Tak, and murmurs in a slightly trembling voice. “Tak, I don't think this is a good idea at all....”

You look at Takei, who takes a step back, and looks exceedingly nervous now. “No, you think? Well, obviously not.” You snicker, and then motion to Kiku. “Hey, come meet our....hehahaha....our new ~friends~, Kiku-chan!”

“You three.” Miko-Kiku's flat, unfriendly, childishly cute voice just doesn't sound that menacing, but Tak and Takei both look terrified, while Takeda gets a goofy grin and starts towards her. “LOLI...!” He lurches for her, but Kiku is already gone. You're quick, but the Fire dragonette is at your side before he takes two steps. “THIS is Anonimous, Ryukusa-san? These idiots have been stalking my sister for months.”

“They...they...they're dressed...like NINJAS!” You explain, trying to keep a straight face. “So...that means we...wehhahah...have to....” Leaning close you mock-whisper, “...fear them!” Kiku looks at you wide eyed....and then bursts into laughter, which makes you burst into laughter. Takeda is still looking for his loli, and is uprooting bushes and calling out for the loli, while Takei and Tak are trying to screw up enough courage to tell you to stop.

Takeda finally realizes his loli has ended up near you and starts towards you and Kiku, and you wipe your eyes, still laughing...and step in front of Kiku in a long stance, your sleeve fluttering wildly as you whip your hand past him once, twice, five times before he stumbles back. You're still giggling as his ninja 'suit' collapses into little black tatters at his feet, revealing his lanky, rather flabby body, dirty fundoshi, and mismatched socks.

Staggering back he falls on his ass and Kiku shrieks with laughter. As you compose yourself in front of the trembling idiots before you. “So....those other three guys....who were they?”

Tak looks lost, and about to burst into tears, while the trembling Takei holds up his pen and doujin sketchbook. “What other guys?”

That brings dead silence from you and Miko-Kiku.

Realizing these idiots are a waste of time, and more of a distraction than anything else, putting them out of their misery might be merciful, but putting them out of your misery is far more important.

You pull a couple of beans out of the glove Akari and Yui thoughtfully provided and flick a bean each at the two other oni-born, their heads snapping back and their eyes rolling back into their heads. Takeda has grabbed Takei's book and using it to hide his fundoshi from you and Kiku.

While time may not pass for you here, and while Yui and Akari have undoubtedly already escaped your barrier, the three humans who were accompanying Anonimous are not so lucky as to have simply escaped. When you drop the Barrier, they will be right where you left them – on either side and in back of the house. Naturally they won't be the only threat but Yui and Akari aren't incapable. Your not entirely sure how your friends and Kiki leaving the Barrier will affect their location though. You have the maps and plans memorized as well as Akari does, and you've worked and played with her enough to know how the stoic dragonette will react to threats she simply can't plow under.

You and the diminutive Miko head into the house, and you delivering a trio of kicks at the back of the groaning, frightened oni-born guys backsides. You don't even bother looking as they slam into the outer wall of the yard, crashing half-through the wall. Leaving them semi-conscious, and out of the way of the worst of the explosion, Kiku looks up at you. “You'll have to make the gases from the stove move into the rooms of the house, otherwise there can't be an explosion, baka-dragon.”

“That's fine, I want to collect my clothes.” Kiku prances into the kitchen, humming a little melody as she turns on the gas to the stove without lighting them. With the Barrier still up, you have all the time in the world to collect your clothing and get to the edge of the barrier. Those other three probably have a vehicle – it would be carp's play to collect it and maybe catch one of the mystery humans to interrogate while doing so.

Miko-Kiku slips into the room and looks at your closet. “Nee-chan's closet isn't as interesting as yours., baka-dragon.”

Childlike though she may look, Kiku is not a child. She is more thrice as old as the rest of your friends, oujo-sama, and yourself all put together. Those golden eyes watch you, though she keeps her face lowered and her hands at her sides. Her tail, however, is slowly lashing back and forth. “Have you met those three before?”

“Yes. They're stalkers, but very pathetic at it. My nee-chan has always been admired, but those three hikikomori would only come out of their basements to catch pictures of....” She pauses as you slide the outfit slowly from her sleek, slender frame. She's not without girlishness – she's not completely flat, she is more svelte than she is childlike. Which only makes her childish behaviors that much cuter. “....of my sister. Pictures like the ones you are imagining, ecchi-dragon.”

“I don't really have to imagine it, though, Kiku-chan,” you point out as you consider her sizes and your outfits. “How good at warfare are you? And don't give me that pacifistic Shinto nonsense, you know way too much my sister didn't want you to say.”

She looks down, staying very still as you slide your hands along her bare shoulders to her wrists, taking her measure. Her tail is more swaying back and forth, and Kiku's blood is definitely heating up. Literally – you can feel it through her skin. “I was trained with Clan Ryo.” That's a surprise, but you don't let it show.

Her cheeks go very red and she lifts the sleeve of the shimmering., fiery yukata to hide her mouth. “Hentai-dragon.”

“Yuri-miko,” you reply as you slowly reach around her and embrace her, her horns actually giving off heat waves and her hair surging like a low-flame might. “You can't burn me....but I bet you know just how dangerous I am to be around.”

Which Yui can apparently attest to. Miko-Kiku will be able to keep up with you without a problem, and you are definitely faster than Akari. But that's not the reason you want their vehicle.

First, there will probably be someone there who is watching the vehicle and coordinating. Second, there will be clues to their identity even if no one is at the vehicle. And finally, you've always wanted to steal a car. Well, no, not really, but it seems like a fun thing to try! Number three is actually just making sure they don't have a vehicle to chase you down with.

At the same time, there are shouts and angry cries from both the Humvee AND the black van – but those from the van are in Japanese, while those from the Humvee are in European!

Kiku's eyes glitter happily as she watches the building and yard burn. While you're at the far edge of the barrier, you can go back to either one of the two vehicles and cause more mayhem....

The shouting grabs Kiku's attention as well as yours, and you look at her. She looks back, and in unspoken agreement you take the Humvee on the left and she takes the van on the right.

Her power, while more deadly in general, is under her total control. So when she claps her hands twice and a serpent of fire erupts from her fingertips and lashes out to the van, it doesn't explode. Instead she runs the fire over the van's exterior, like playing with a kite or gym ribbon, melting the handles, turning the windows to flaming slag, and welding the doors shut. The screaming inside is terror, and pain, but not death-cries.

You know what those sound like.

The activity in the Humvee is more than suspicious. People start trying to get out, but you react much, much faster. Though there is a sharp twinge of pain from your left side where you were stabbed, you push your hand out at the van and conjure up the blackest, darkest waters from the deepest fathoms, and suddenly the windows explode as icy water over-pressurizes the Humvee. The one man who started to open the door is flung out as his body is crushed against the door and door ripped of the hinges, unconscious (lucky for him considering how strange his arm and legs look) before he ever hits the ground.

Even though nothing here is truly destroyed now, it will eventually be destroyed as the spirit decays and the building suffers. Destruction on this scale is another matter entirely. The Kami would be appalled, unless it was the precursor to an earthquake or a similarly widespread natural disaster. If it is really bad, a gas main explosion or a chemical spill that unleashes a cloud of poisonous gas that later ignites could happen.

With her now much shortened kimono skirt, Miko-Kiku gingerly moves towards one of the buildings, seeking cover. You are not far behind, covering her back and moving backwards through the rubble with the ease and confidence of a cat. Whatever caused the destruction is either still here, or the fight has reached a lull; it's impossible to tell.

“If we find them in here, you go to your sister and protect her. I'll deal with whatever is causing this.” You soft orders spark an immediate protest.

“You are injured, baka-dragon, you can't possibly take on whatever caused this! It has to be of stone, there is simply too much sheer breakage!”

She blinks back hot tear, her eyes steaming and you smile.

If they weren't, where would there still be fighting?” The distant sound of thunder – though whether it is simply thunder or boulders being hurled is impossible to tell – rumbles past. “Stay nearby, but separate – we'll move as quick as we can, and reach them. If we are not spotted, we will decide what to do then. If we find them, we take them and run if it is possible.” Such a case is unlikely – Akari would separate herself from the others and be a target for the oni's wrath.

“Hai, Ryukusa-tan.” She takes a deep breath and you kiss her on the forehead, sliding you hand across her horns. She takes heart from the kind gesture, the reassurance, and her eyes turn liquid gold, burning brightly. You can feel her blood eating up.

Standing up, you place you hand over the wound. It's not bad, but it's still a wound, one which means your body is fragile in that place. You can't possibly risk barrier combat in your condition....but if you have to, you will.

You and Kiku breath in sync, one, two, three....and then you RUN. Kiku is the faster, leaping from place to place and moving low across the ground in a fashion that is physically impossible. You aren't as fast, but the rubble, the buildings, the obstacles....they mean nothing. Cats and snakes are clumsy animals compared to you. Walls are merely stairs, the most unstable rubble barely shifts under your weight, and the thinnest of rebar is a steady perch. In mere seconds, you and Kiku cover over two miles of destruction, and spot the path of it quickly.

A towering monster of an oni is battering a hole into the ground, as though he were trying to scrape out something hiding in the ground. Akari is sprawled unconscious some hundred feet away from him as he tries to dig up the sewer line, his voice a basso-profondo murmur as he tries to entice what must be Yui and Kiki-oujo-sama out of the subway he's mostly collapsed. He is wearing a long-katana, notably blade down meaning he isn't making any pretense at being anything other than what he is – a monster. But his robes are complex, and he's wearing numerous chains, though none on his wrists. Not indebted, a servant though.

And he's related to Yui. You can see it in his blood.

You flick a droplet of water at Kiku, who dodges it easily – instinctively, actually, and looks towards you from the wall she is hiding behind. You point to where Akari was laying and she nods. Though one handed, you give her the signals for rescue and pull back and hide, though it takes a little longer than you'd like. The bakemono is being patient – he can afford to be, he has forever, literally.

But now Ryuu Ryukusa is here, and his time is up.

You stand up, hand at your chest, and you pray to the God of Destruction, Ame-no-Horobi-no-Mikado, the Dragon whose blood runs through your veins that all you love will be safe from the destruction you now will rain upon your enemy.

And then you MOVE.

The oni slams the club into the tunnel, and you head a soft, muffled shriek, your Kiki-hime's voice. Your Pearl burns, and you you move to where the club impacted the earth as the oni leans down to inspect his work. Your heel slams into the club, shifting it several inches and lodging it under an overhanging remnant of the subway. It isn't meant to keep the club from moving entirely, only long enough….for you to run UP the club, at the Oni, who rears back in shock at the midnight blue and deepest black clad assassin with one arm charging his face. But you don't draw your sword – that would be rude, and that's his job. But that doesn't mean he's getting away unscathed.

Even as he pulls back your arm is spread wide and you leap up, past his head on the right sight, stepping off his chest and shoulder like a staircase. You spin mid-air, and land on the top of the tallest wall remaining – still a fair fifteen feet up, making you taller than him. You stand, arm outstretched, your other sleeve flapping in the wind you summon. He roars in pain and turns to face you, four long, shallow cuts decorating his right cheek.

“So, the goblins who serve Kuroukami have to avoid a wounded, one armed warrior is not even there before accepting her challenge?”

He takes a deep breath, but you interrupt, flicking your fingers towards his feet, droplets of his blood spattering on the broken city before you.

He grimaces and yanks his club out of the building you lodged it in, collapsing part of it. He starts towards you....then stops. Lowering his club to the ground, he leans on it and laughs, loud and hard. “So, my brother was right – you really do lay claim to the little cuntrag. I thought he was joking when he said a little dragon knocked him off his cloud and told him to com back later. I thought he'd been drinking too much....but here you are.”

Your Water Eyes show you everything you need to see – he's arrogant, but not without some sense of dignity and a strong sense of duty. He wasn't lying, though he's definitely mistaken you for Akari, who was the person who knocked the other one off his cloud and told him to come back later. More importantly, you can see that Akari has been rescued by Kiku, and even more importantly Yui is taking the opportunity to very quietly and carefully lead Kiki-hime away from the trap they were in.

“You know – hey, what's your name, gargoyle? Or should I just call you stupid-drunk-san, because after what you did to this place, the Kami are going to burn you.”

“Kurao Goto, you little queef.” The casual insults are meaningless to oni, they barely realize they;re doing it most of the time.

“Right, Goto-kun. Anyways....the only person,” you continue as you palm a bean from the glove into your hand. “....the only person who insults my niji-chan, is....well, no one. I don't tolerate that kind of behavior to my underlings.” You turn your hand and flick the bean without betraying any intent at all.

Yui, seeing what you've done takes the opportunity to pick Kiki up and leap onto a cloud she forms out of nothing. Kiku likewise takes the chance and burns a path behind the oni, skirting the edges of the utterly destroyed area and catching up to Yui, and joining her in fleeing.

The oni remains unaware of all of this, because with a shot so perfect you can hardly believe it you nail him right between the eyes AND his horns, dead center of his forehead. The sound it like a gunshot as the bean cracks apart against his forehead. The impact slams him backwards and into the pit he's created, rubble collapsing around him and soiling his robes in dust, sewage, and mud.

His club is still close by, but he's dropped it, though the chain won't let it travel far. You stand tall, imperious. “Before you get up, you had better think really hard, Kurao Goto. You can either fight me now, while I'm weak, and try and explain to Kuroukami that you tried to kill Ryuu Ryukusa of Clan Ryo because she hit you in the head with a bean....or you can apologize, and meet me in four days and try and kill me with the blessings of the Kami and my clan in a true challenge worthy of Kurao Goto.”

You watch the gears turn inside his head, slow, but relentless and strong, grinding all the questions and thoughts into fine, soft powder that he'll sift through for an answer. Most of your siblings and cousins considered oni-born stupid and slow, and actual oni even more stupid. Not you. You never thought of them as stupid or slow – you could see their cunning, even their wisdom. Most importantly, the careful time they took to consider how dangerous a situation was, that others mistook for stupidity or cowardice.

And right now it didn't get any more dangerous, because you have nothing to lose except your life – your niji-chans and Kiki-hime and your pretty pet are all safely away.

Ame-no-Horobi-no-Mikado, give your daughter strength.

It takes all your training, all your strength, all your wits not to scream in agony as your Pearl cracks inside your chest. You feel liquid spilling from it, sluicing down your ribs, along your lungs and heart, filling your plural cavity. Not with hot blood, but with ice cold water, your heart seizing your lungs bubbling. He stares at you, the sweat beading your brown, your stoic, determined expression, your stylish outfit's edges fluttering in the summoned winds, the dark clouds roiling over head.

Just as you feel you must scream or drown, the ice cold liquid boils away inside your bodyk, leaving your mind clear, your heart thudding hard, and the burning of your cracked pearl leaving you trembling and ready to Fuck His Shit Up. Injuries? None, your power is free and clear, and you flex your hands slowly, the skies heaving above you in response.
