"BA-GAAAAAWK! TOU!"

You can't seem to peel your eyes away from a bizarre and crazed scene. A lone rooster takes on three buffed up roided roosters, each baring a single black star on their strangely colored feathers. The lone cock fights valiantly, crowing louder than all the rest as it takes flaps and throws back more. The assailants at its feet, you see a brilliant light as the most magnificent hen of the whole coop descends to meet it. You swear you see a little rat scurry away from the light.

Time flies as you watch its various exploits that culminate in its epic battle with a one eyed mongoose. At the battles zenith the brave rooster lights itself on fire and rips the mongooses ears off in two mighty pecks. Being consumed by the inferno, the other chickens gather around it to see its passing.

Alarm blaring, you wake up, covered in cold sweat. You vow to never eat from that ramen stand on the side of the road that late at night ever again. Seems like even in the One-Star area there are places you can't trust to eat at.

You stare with your one eye at the ceiling, seeing your fan slowly spin. A new day with new horizons. Your crippled frame slowly crawls out of bed and into your chair, sore from the amount of labor Nonon put you through. You swear you'll give her more than she bargained for.

You shower quickly, thankful that for the first time in ages you've been able to have hot water through it. There just wasn't enough to go around at the Back Alley Doctors. You dry off and pull up to your full body mirror, another thing to be thankful of. You stare into your reflection, your mind racing back to everything that has happened.

You are snapped out of further thoughts as loud crashing, screaming, and various forms of yelling reach your ears, you rush outside to see various One-Stars jeering at something below, and when you reach the concrete barrier to gaze down, you see a vast array of colorful deathtraps that would make the Tower of London look like a theme park. You remember, it's No-Late-Day, the event in which No-Stars are tested and expelled if they can't make it through the gauntlet.

"If you fail, then you will suffer the public humility of having that desecrated uniform of yours torn in front of the eyes of the entire school. Do not think that I, GAMAGOORI IRA, haven't noticed your petty display."

You smirk. "Very well!"

Gama gets in one last line, "There will be no weaseling out of this for you, Courtmanche!"

You descend toward the chaos of the slums, and the helter-skelter of the moment washes over you. You see students trying to climb up ledges, run over spike pits, and swim in crocodile infested waters. In this distance you see kids trying to cross a minefield and some poor soul try running full bore out into the mess of things, proceed to step on the biggest one in the bunch, and lob himself all the way into Croc-land.

You know Mako and Ryuuko are in this mess and should be fine with her Kamui, hell, she's probably already to the top by now. Your travel is quick and painless, least until you get close. Being able to roll down the One-Star access ways is a piece of cake compared to what the No-Stars have to do.

Then Boss lets loose with all that air, he shakes the students and almost the ground. He's no Gamagoori, but he's got his own style, and that's more than enough. "You lazy lot! See this One-star in a WHEEL chair?! He came down here to make sure idiots like you had a fighting chance and all you're doing is sitting around living in a fantasy world!"

Some jolt awake at that, others sink deeper in, unable to cope with an ever present truth staring at their face. One finally speaks up, "Wh-Why a One-Star come down here? IS this some kind of sick joke!?"

You roll forward. "No. I, Yuuto Courtmanche have down here to ask you all a question. Why is that you are here?"

The same student answers up, "Because we're too weak to climb..." He starts up, to excuse himself, "B-But have you seen those traps!?"

"I have, but... It's not because you are weak, but because you refuse to use your strengths!" More audible gasps. This is becoming an annoying occurrence. "Think! You aren't One-Stars, but you also aren't carbon-copied students that blend into a crowd, each of you have unique skills and looks that only you can hold!"

It's working, some of them look up at you, hope in their eyes, the nearly mindless homeroom teacher speaks up but Boss silents him. "SO! Whose with us!?" A new cheer and several of the students rush to your side.

However, it is merely a minority, it seems the majority is still content to fall. You close your eyes. Nothing can be done, they have chosen, and so have you along with your fellows. They crowd around you as your unroll a map. "So, here's the plan...."
