You are the PRODUCER, a former soldier hired to manage a group of teenage girls on their rise to stardom, assuming they don't get killed in the process!

You're suddenly woken up in the middle of the night as your phone blares loudly. Wincing, you pick it up and check the time. The fact that your eyes aren't properly adjusting so you can't actually SEE the time meant it had to be some ungodly hour.

"If it's some sort of telemarketer or spambot I am SO shooting somebody." You grumble angrily, rubbing your eyes. With your vision clearing up, you finally get a good look at your phone again and see that you in fact received a text from Himawari. You guess you shouldn't be surprised that she'd be up at odd hours. Wondering what could be so important, you check the message.

FOUND HIM

Your eyes widen.

You quickly send off a text message to Jenner before putting some clothes on and bolting out of the door. If you had a lead, you had to take it before that bastard had a chance to kill again. Fortunately for you, there was nobody on the roads at this hour, so you reach the office in record time.

"You're late, Producer." Jenner says, obviously waiting for you as you enter the office.

WHAT THE HELL HOW DOES SHE DO THAT.

"So Himawari found the killer?" Jenner asks.

"Yeah." You nod as you head for the data center. "I had her combing the entire city's surveillance network with facial recognition. Even if he can hide from the cameras while committed crimes, he can't evade them all the time."

"True." Jenner nods.

You reach the data center and knock loudly on the door. Himawari opens it up, not looking tired or phased at all by the hour.

"Oh, hey Producer." Himawari blinks. "Didn't expect you to get here so fast."

"What have you got?" You say, skipping straight to the point.

"Ah, well, I was running facial recognition on the citywide surveillance network, and I basically narrowed it down to areas that got the most hits." Himawari taps some keys on her computer and screen shows a map of the city, with a small cluster of red dots. "Apparently, there's this place down in District Eight our guy likes to frequent a lot. I cross checked the location, and it appears to be a housing tower. A Megablock."

You wince. Megablocks were Delta City's answer to cheap housing. Just build a massive tower with thousands of units and its own amenities and call it a day. There were a few in District Six, but they were primarily found in the slums of District Eight. It would take forever to fully search one.

"Can you narrow down where he could be?"

"Sorry, no." Himawari shakes her head. "Coverage in District Eight is pretty bad. I was lucky I even found working cameras out there."

Makes sense. People in the slums would have reason to get rid of cameras, and municipal authorities wouldn't want to go in there to fix them without serious protection.

"That's a lot of ground to cover, Producer." Jenner frowns. "And we have a performance coming up, too. We're going to need four idols for that one."

Damn, you remembered Jenner mentioning this to you. With the killer running rampant a lot of idol companies were hunkering down, meaning there were much more jobs available.

Curryanon here, strange idea came to me last night.

What if Cole is actually an artificial Human/clone designed to be an empty shell for someone who's dying, or otherwise needs a new body? Should we meet the original when the opportunity arises, with or without Cole?

Just imagine if the original has a completely different personality compared to Cole.

>The original is rich, well-mannered, kind, ladylike, and eats a well balanced gluten-free diet set up by her personal nutritionist to accommodate her medical needs....Then she meets Cole; crude, uninhibited, and well...Cole; subsisting on a diet of meat, junk food, and anything deep fried and salty. Hell, the original could be jealous of Cole for being able to do things that she wishes she could do if she weren't in her current condition such as idoling.

Then after the meeting, she describes Cole as someone rather...different... from what she was expecting of someone created from her genes.

"Let's see...." You frown. You knew that you could count on Zenith sending four idols to assist you: Heartlancer, Kaleidoscope, Shadowblade, and Monarch. That was all they were able or willing to commit.

That meant if you canceled the performance, you'd free up 2 combat idols, giving you a total of 10 to work with.

Then again, you could keep the performance as scheduled, and Zenith's idols would be more than enough to fill the gap. You haven't had a lot of jobs lately, and this one promised to pay well. Up to $5000 not including sponsorships and upkeep. Plus, cancelling last minute was sure to make more than a few people angry...

>Zenith's reinforcements should be enough. Stick to the schedule.

I know Cole is gonna get in trouble with a biotech firm at some point, but being the clone of the daughter of some mega tycoon could cause us some serious problems.

If she's just a lab rat, we can claim mistreatment or outright buy her from them. But a clone's DNA might always be the property of its original owner.

Just so we have something to talk about/get it out of the way.

Which idols are going to stay behind and protect/perform with Rin and Niko.

We promised Julie to go,
Rochelle is a field leader and has K-Zwolf
Melissa since if we may have to go hand to hand, her augs should cover us.

That leaves these three.
Morgan not sure if a sniper might be a good idea for such a close quarters area
Sparky for the same reason
and Cole mostly for the fact that since our opponent is almost fully cyborg and maybe has protection against her electric attacks it may not be a good idea sending her along.

Thoughts?
>>
>>32790091
Does Sparky have a variety of grenades (Stun, flashbang, HE, etc.)?
>>
>>32790091
Cole and Morgan should go with Rin and Niko.

Sparky should go after the killer. We might need her to blast through walls. I think the killer might have entrenched himself and we might need a way into his lair.
>>
>>32790139
Probably stun and frags but we might be in a populated area and are fighting close quarters

I agree with this. If the Killer goes after Rin or Niko, or another Idol company decides to, then we need to have our best foot forward to protect them.

Morgan and Sparky might not be the most useful to go up against the killer, but they could incapacitate him quickly if the conditions are right.

"Yeah, I think Zenith's idols can fill up any gaps we might have." You nod. You take another look at your roster to confirm.

Kaleidoscope was apparently a very good shooter. Her marksmanship was touted to be Olympic-level, even. However, Hillman's notes warned she had self-confidence issues, and tended to shoot to disable rather than kill.

Heartlancer was the muscle. She carried the heaviest loadout out of any of the four magical girls. She also carried around a collapsible spear for close combat. You guess those combat moves she showed in performances weren't just for show.

Shadowlancer was tech support. Not exactly a great fighter, but she knew her way in around most electronic and analog systems. She also had a lot of recon-oriented gear like surveillance drones.

Monarch was something of the team medic. She was a very strict pacifist, so she refused to arm herself, meaning she had to depend on other idols to defend her. However, she was an amazingly skilled medic. Hillman noted that she could be a licensed surgeon if she wanted to.

With that in mind, you had to figure out which two idols you should send to keep an eye on Rin and Niko. The Killer wasn't the only potential threat out there, after all.

>Which two idols will be sent to the performance? Keep in mind you already promised Julie she'd be on the attack op.

Don't want to clog the thread early but I had a semi-expansion of the Christmas idea. This came to me in a daydream/dream

Their first snow day.

Rin and Melissa build a Snowman

Cole and Himawari are shivering in the cold wondering what the fuck are they doing here

Morgan wears a t-shirt and shorts an 30 to 40 degree weather because she's russain.

Rochelle, Julie, Niko are having a snowball fight until Faynn comes out riding K-Zwolf mounting an MG-42 with a funnel and pump attached shooting snow balls/pellets at the idols.

Then becomes some sort of crazy comedic death match.

P-san just sips his hot coco thinking its just another day
>>
>>32790450
You designate Morgan and Sparky to run protection for Rin and Niko. They were both still relatively green, and you had the feeling that you were going to need your heaviest hitters in order to take the killer out. The possibility that he had military-grade augmetics meant you had to assume the worst.

"Okay, now that we know who we're bringing, and we know where he is, where do we go from here?" Jenner asks.

"We can wake the girls. If we mobilize now, we should still have time to mount a pre-dawn raid." You say. "Less people, less collateral damage and chances for him to escape."

"That's true, but just waking them up in the middle of the night might not be the best thing, and I'm not just talking about morale." Jenner frowns. "Their physical performance might be impaired as well."

"I know, but still...." Jenner frowns.

"Oh, can it be that you're actually going soft on them?" You give a sly grin.

"Nothing of the sort." Jenner huffs. "Anyways, if you so insist on waking them up, then I'll leave it to you. I'll try and contact Stig to see if he can come down here."

You head over to the housing block. Since Rin, Niko, Morgan, and Sparky didn't need to go on the raid, you head for Rochelle, Cole, Julie, and Melissa's rooms to wake them separately. You also give a call to Hillman to explain the situation to him. He's reluctant about it, but you manage to convince him to organize his idols as well, and they'll meet you at the target site.

It was odd, though. You've spent years in dense jungles and barren deserts fraught with dangers. You've navigated minefields, swam through dangerous waters, and faced every conceivable life threatening situation possible.

So why did you feel so nervous about waking up a bunch of teenage girls in the middle of the night?

What followed was what you could only call a series of misadventures on your part.

The first idol you tried to rouse was Rochelle. After knocking her door and receiving no answer, you use your master key to unlock it and open it, only to get tackled in the chest by K-Zwolf.

"WARNING, BLUE ON BLUE INCIDENT DETECTED. CEASING HOSTILITIES." The Cyber Hound buzzes.

If only he did that before crushing your chest in.

"K-Zwolf, what's going on?" You hear Rochelle as she walks up to the door, a handgun pointed out and ready.

"Whoa, WHOA! Hold your fire!" You say, raising your hands up defensively. The last thing you needed was getting shot in the middle of the night by one of your own idols.

"Sir?" Rochelle blinks before lowering the gun. "What are you doing here?"

"We got a mission, soldier." You cough, scrambling back to your feet. "And do you always sleep with a handgun?"

"You mean you don't?" Rochelle blinks.

"Actually, no."

"Oh..." Rochelle frowns. "So I guess, uh, I'll get dressed..."

She then quickly retreats back into her room, and K-Zwolf plants itself firmly in front of the door, glaring at you, like this whole commotion was your fault.

"Bad dog." You scowl before moving on.

Next up was Julie. Again, she didn't answer summons, so you enter her room. You see her on her bed snoring loudly and you put a hand on her shoulder to shake her awake. However, Julie's arms reflexively reach out and grab you, pulling you into her chest. You feel your face getting mashed into her sizable assets, and for a moment there you genuinely though you were going to suffocate.

"Such a cute doggie...." You hear Julie mumble in her sleep. You try to extricate yourself without hurting or waking her, but her grip is just too damn strong, and you vision begins to blur.

"Julie..." You croak.

"Eh?" Julie's eyes flutter open as she wakes to see you inadvertently motorboating her.

"Oho, Producer, I never knew you were into this sort of thing..."

You did not like how her voice suddenly had a murderous edge to it.

"Uh, morning, Julie." You say nervously. "We uh, have a mission right now, so if you could kindly get dressed..."

"Uh huh. I'll do that." Julie says with a smile on her face, but murder in her voice.

Suddenly, you feel yourself flying through the air as Julie physically tosses you out of her room. Your back slams onto the hallway wall and as you slide down, you see Julie, clad in nothing but a bra and panties, give you another deathsmile before slamming the door.

Ugh.... two down two to go.

It's the same deal with Melissa. You're forced to enter her room and find out that she sleeps topless. Well, she usually disconnected her augmetic limbs before sleeping, so you guess it would be hard to keep a bra on with only one arm. As you wake her, she instinctively grabs her augmetic arm lying on a nightstand next to her bed and swings it out at you like a bat, knocking you out cold for a brief second.

"Oh, um, sorry about that, Producer." Melissa blinks as she drapes her blanket around herself for modesty. "But frankly, you sorta had it coming."

"Just get dressed..." You groan.

And last but not least was Cole. If this morning was any indication, she was going to be the worst of the lot. You already knew she was not a morning person at all, and HATED having to wake up early.

However, you had a duty to perform. You reluctantly enter Cole's room, where she's sleeping quietly. You lean down to shake her awake when the blanket covering her slips off, and that's when you find out that Cole slept in the nude.

And at that terribly inconvenient moment, her eyes snap open.

"Um, I can explain this-"

"P-P-PRODUCEEEEERR!!!" Cole's face goes red as she screams.

Meanwhile, down int he data center, Himawari was passing the time playing one of the latest adult games. She was almost at the scene were she would unlock the SUPERS STEAMY HOMO END when everything went black.

A power outage? Himawari frowned. Well, the backup generator would kick in and she could continue...

>3 Carapace Armors purchased!

>$2400 remain

You purchase some heavier armor to make sure all your idols get some proper protection. After all, who knew what they were going to run into in the Megablock?

After a few minutes, Rochelle, Julie, Cole, and Melissa assemble in the garage, still drowsy and tired. However, they all give you a wary stare as you approach.

"Now girls." You say, looking at them apologetically. "I'm sorry for waking you all up so early, but this is important. We have an idea where the Idol Killer may be and we're going after him."

At that moment, all of your idols' expressions change from wariness to determination.

"Really, sir?" Rochelle asks.

"Yeah! We can really trounce him!" Julie nods, cracking her knuckles.

"Now, this is going to be a joint operation with Zenith, like we trained for." You say. "Morgan and Sparky need to stay behind to keep an eye on Rin and Niko, so it's going to be on you to catch this guy."

"Where are we going?" Cole grumbles.

"DIstrict Eight. It's not quite the Tombs, but it's still a fairly dangerous place, expect dangers and hazards not related to our immediate target to show up." You warn.

With that, your idols gear up and mount up in the SUV. Stig then arrives, driving a very sleek and expensive looking sports car.

"Stig, where the hell did you get that?" You raise an eyebrow.

Stig just looks at you and shrugs.

"Is it even yours?"

Another shrug.

"Okay, whatever. Just drive." You sigh.

"Hello, again, Stig!" NEMO chimes cheerfully as your driver starts the engine. "Where are we going today?"

"You're welcome!"

Huh, this was kinda weird, actually.

"It's nice to see them getting along so well, right K-Zwolf?" Rochelle chuckles.

"ACKNOWLEDGED." The Cyberhound rumbles from the trunk.

In the meantime, you've been reviewing how exactly you could narrow down your search pattern. There was no realistic way of going room by room. You needed something in your favor. Further research in the Apple Tree Megablock showed that it did indeed have a surveillance system, but it was a local network, meaning you'd have to hack it onsite, assuming it was still working. Or, you could dig through occupant records, though they would most likely still be using paper records, something that utterly revolted Himawari. Lastly, you could try triggering an emergency alarm. That would force everybody to evacuate the building, so you could catch him at a chokepoint, and if he decided t hide, he'd be much easier to pick out.

We hook up the lan to an access point. That shouldnt be too hard if we link it to KZ-Wolf or something and transmit it to Himawari to hack and search.

In the meantime, we can check through the records to see if we get lucky before himawari is done.

You suppose checking the housing records and hacking the surveillance system was sufficient. You certainly had the resources and know how to do it, especially with Zenith's support.

Finally, the SUV pulls up to a nearby parking structure, where the huge bulk of the Apple Tree Megablock, one of many in this district, loomed on the horizon. You briefly wonder where Zenith could possibly be when an unmarked VTOL touches down. You see the four Zenith idols hop out, and Hillman himself comes out from the cockpit.

"Producer." He nods to you.

"Hillman." You nod back. You quickly give him a quick rundown on your plan.

"Sounds good." Hillman nods. I believe these two objectives are on the ground floor.

"Yeah, that's what I'm thinking, too." You look at the VTOL. "That yours?"

"Yep. She's been rather useful." Hillman chuckles. "If you want, we can use this to insert a team on the roof, that way we can pincer the killer if we need to. But we have to be fast. The sun will be coming up soon and then you'll be able to see it coming from miles away.

Having Cole on her lonesome with a potentially rival team kind of spooks me, even if they've been good folks so far. But other than switching Heartlancer for Melissa I don't really oppose it.

What's the problem with having the teams be split by which company they're from? Zenith's team seems pretty balanced on their own, even if their tech would be useful on the ground floor.

"Got it." Hillman nods. "All right, roof team, load up!"

The roof team hops into the VTOL and it takes off into the night, heading for the roof of the Megablock.

"All right, Rochelle, you take your team through the ground floor." You order.

"Do we go in concealed or open?" Rochelle asks.

Well, going in concealed meant less chance of any kind of alarm being raised, but it would make things slow going and take a lot of time, which you wanted as much of as possible. Plus, at this hour, there shouldn't be much people around anyways. If you went in open, you'd be able to move about much faster, though at the risk of attracting attention.

A quick slash from K-Zwolf easily breaks the flimsy lock on it it and the team silently files in. Meanwhile the roof team unloads from the VTOL and takes position on the roof as they wait for further instructions.

>You have no more points remaining!

Rochelle's team inserts without much issue, and soon enough, they follow the blue print to where the security room should be. However, much to your dismay, you find that the room is not only guarded, it was HEAVILY guarded. There were two men standing in front, brandishing automatic weapons. They had no clear uniform or insignia, which led you to conclude one thing. They were some kind of independent militia. You've read about Megablocks forced to self police. While some of these militias had good intentions, others were merely armed gangs who ruled their respective Megablocks with an iron fist. Here, you really had no way of telling which kind they were.

In a flash, Rochelle is already on the move. While the second guard is grappling K-Zwolf, Rochelle sprints forward and slides, her fist coming out and striking the guard directly in the knee. The loud CRUNCH and scream of pain let you know that at least his legs weren't augmetic, and he drops K-Zwolf as he topples to the ground. A boot the face makes sure he stays down.

"THANK YOU, MASTER." K-Zwolf buzzes appreciatively.

"Nobody fucks with my dog." Rochelle smiles as she pats the Cyber Hound on the head.

"Hey, so, what do we do with this guy?" Melissa asks as she walks forward, the other guard caught in a painful looking headlock.

I actually feel sympathy for those guys. They're just doing their jobs, maybe/maybe not cheating people out of their cash, and some girls and their dog beat the shit out of them for no apparent reason.

... In retrospect, trying to bribe them would have been a more interesting option. Sorry, guy who suggested that.
>>
>>32794426
Bribing them with what?

I rather not think about that option since that will take time and maybe the guards will want other ways of bribery

Yeah with a -5% influence rate, we have a load of fans there
>>
>>32794441
Um... money? I mean, yeah, it would have taken a bit longer, but it would have possibly kept things quiet, possibly garnered support from the security guys (the guy we're after IS a murderer of teenage girls, after all, and if that didn't tickle their heart strings then the threat of police and/or a larger force of pissed off idol companies would have), and possibly prevent drop in this sector's support of our company or even increase it (I can see reprecussions of attacking security, since we're not exactly unknown).

However, that's all speculative (lots of "possibly"s, after all) and doesn't have any bearing on what's going on. Let's see how our girls do from now on, now that we've gotten the 1's out of the way.

>>32794538
... Ah, right. Didn't we drive drug lords down here or something? Whoops.
>>
>>32794567
We needed to do this quickly get information and get the killer, their mercenaries sob stories won't cut it.

No, we said no to terrorists and gave us a bad word in the lower districts
>>
You know, something's bothering me.

Why does Sparky have a grenade launcher? You'd think the Pilum would have plenty enough boom for any infantry.
>>
>>32794567
Driving drug lords out is a universally good thing though. Like, I can imagine our influence being lower if we didn't.
>>
>>32794605
Well, what happened is that we hit a drug cartel in one district, but the remnants fled into other districts (not 8, as >>32794601 reminded me), which kind of cheesed off those districts now dealing with more drug dealers.

>>32794601
Oh, I'm not disagreeing with this course of actions (I did vote for it, after all). I was just pondering the potential of bribing them.
>>
>>32794603
Because grenades are better in any situation where you aren't facing a tank or an air craft.?
>>
>>32794639
Ah, hadn't been looking at the stats after that op. Well if we get really bothered by it, we could always engage in some "community service", as it were.
>>
>>32794640

Sparky carries frag grenades you know, and Merc confirmed one or two threads ago that the Pilum works pretty damn well against infantry.
>>

"Shadowblade, go and hit the security systems." Rochelle says. "K-Zwolf, keep an eye on them."

"Um..." Monarch speaks up softly and points to the downed second guard his his shattered knee. "Permission to treat his wounds?"

Rochelle shoots one poisonous look at him before sighing.

"Granted."

As Monarch takes out her kit, Rochelle turns to the first guard.

"All right, first things first, who the hell are you guys?" She asks. "You certainly aren't standard rent-a-cops."

"Fuck you, bitch. I ain't talking to no cop!" The guard spits, and yelps as Melissa tightens her grip on his throat in response.

"Do we look like cops?" Rochelle raises an eyebrow. "Now let me ask that question again, and if don't want to eat out of a tube in your foreseeable future, you'll answer it. Who are you guys?"

"W-we're the Jacks!" The guard sputters. "We run Apple Tree! It's our turf. You don't know who you're messing with!"

Descend manually using stairwells. I have a bad feeling about them calling up an elevator to the roof then immediately sending it to his floor. Maybe do so intentionally, with an empty one so that if he has any tricks planned they will trigger and distract him, while the actual team moves in.

"Cole, rendezvous with Rochelle's team. You'll take this guy out together." You order.

"Got it, Producer." Cole affirms. "We're heading down now."

You switch back to Rochelle's viewpoint, where the girl has the guard at gunpoint as he summons the service elevator. Within a few minutes, both teams have regrouped and set up on the 60th floor, where the killer is hiding out.

"You know, once you start shooting, my people are gonna come onto you full force." The guard warns. "It's bad business to let people just attack our tenants like that, you know? And they're not going to be nice about it."

"Pfffft, as if any of us are nice." Cole grins evilly. "If they want a fight, they'll get one."

"Looks clear." Shadowblade whispers as she sticks a fiber optic camera under the door. "There's a tripwire at the door, but other than that no obvious traps."

"Well, that's what this baby is for." Julie grins as she slaps a shaped breaching charge on the door. "Courtesy of Sparky."

"All right, everybody ready?" Rochelle looks at all the collected idols. "Remember, this guy is probably heavily auged, so whatever you do, DO NOT engage him alone, you hear? Don't expect to take him in a straight up fight! You shoot first and worry later!"

All of the other idols nod in agreement.

"Alright, breach!" Rochelle barks.

Julie hits the detonator and the door explodes, and it's pretty much at that point all hell breaks loose.
