The Demon Lord shouldn’t be this fidgety, not that I disliked her hand squeezing mine (it’s pretty cute, really, she’s really going at it, pretending she doesn’t care) but there was obviously something bothering her a great deal, thankfully her frustration wasn’t aimed at Emeth or me; the golem seem scared and happy at once of her new acquisition, she gave off the aura of a scared little animal that would intensely regret bothering us about this little greediness at the slight perception of hatefulness, I never thought I’d think this but… this golem might be much more fragile than I previously thought, Daiyu also smelled this, which is why she concentrated on squeezing my hand.

Ow.

With the overhead wyverns patrolling the sky and the soldiers surveying the busy streets our little trio bumped shoulders often with the inhabitants, chains formed for donated clothes and soups; it was a dreary picture indeed but I’ve seen my share of hopelessness brought by the strife of a siege and it wasn’t as preponderant in Rhyclan, which means that the ruling class actually deigned to shell out some cash for its citizens; whether pressured by the commonwealth leaders arrival or out of the simple goodness of their heart, I can’t say but at least the results spoke and, just like Fendall said, there wasn’t any ‘’stink’’ lingering in the atmosphere.

Not that it helped Daiyu’s mood, as we rounded the main street the plaza of the mansion came into view and I saw the large, easily identifiable silhouette of the dragon disappear inside the mansion; then with perfect queue Daiyu let out a growl and I finally decided to take matters in my own hands, this demon lord isn’t my liege my liege, but I like to think we’ve become friend thank to yesterday and, with Emeth finally looking away from her ring, I gave the girl a head tilt, pointing my chin to one of the side street not too occupied and veered inside, making the succubus yelp again in surprise, the golem proved herself useful as she completely blocked the entrance with her small, yet solid frame, crossing her arms under her chest, doing her best to appear intimidating but only passing as adorable, if weird thank to a lack of expression.

I’ve been able to deduce her intention surprisingly easily haven’t I?

‘’Daiyu, Daiyu being adorable won’t let you escape now, isn’t there something you want to do?’’

‘’…adorable?’’

She seemed rather taken aback by the choice of words, but the way she fiddled with her sleeves easily told of her nervousness, without mentioning the bulges at her sides from the wings straining her soft clothes.

‘’I’d like to…’’

She stopped, biting down loudly in a snap that made me frown, frustrated anger clear across her face, I felt my tail twitch, in fact it actually slapped on the wall next to us.

‘’Punch that dragon in her bitch throat and give her another affliction to worry about for the rest of her life, yeah, that’d what I’d like to do fucking scaled cunt think she…’’
>>
At my raised eyebrows (and contained laugher) the pilgrim clothed succubus breathed loudly through her nostrils, the whole picture of that previously demure, polite, seductive succubus in religious clothes letting out these swears was enough to make me laugh, but obviously it was something serious to upset her like that.

‘’Sorry…’’

I shook my head in response while adding a smile, that’s how you make someone heart throb, right?

‘’Tell me what happened and I’ll forgive ya, aight?’’

She shook her head (making a strain in her hat with those head wings) while simultaneously sighing and slumping her shoulders; say what you want about Daiyu Jawahir but she’s certainly not afraid to show her emotions if you simply bother to be kind.

‘’She… well she know who I am, and…’’

She bit down on her bottom lisp for a few seconds and I simply squeezed her shoulder again to entice more words.

‘’It’s about that business I told you about yesterday; one of my daughters… is staying in Gwynedd, at least that’s what I hoped; Fendall told me that if my girl was still lounging in –her- country by the end of this war and the advent of this commonwealth she’d –remove- my child, apparently another side of the deal she had with Gil was to make the country «clean» of demons, a little something that went under the table I guess’’

Ah…It’d seem the North simply cannot live without some form of persecution; but then they are joining in economy and blood with Zipangu, a nation of free monster that managed to repel a demonic invasion thirty years ago, one could say this is nothing more than a show of faith on part of Gil, obviously it didn’t exactly sit very well with Daiyu’s, if only for the implication of danger surrounding her kid.

‘’…so what do you want to do?’’

She faced me straight; anger still visibly wracking her beautiful face there was still dignity, charisma and pure, simple motherly love which took me back with her moments with Mana «there’s no such thing as far for mothers» and, obviously, her course of action was easy to predict.

‘’I want you to come with me’’

She simply answered, then turned toward Emeth.

‘’I don’t know if it’ll be wise to have her come with us, too but if push comes to shoves… I’d love to have her by our side’’

Hmm…Emeth realized we were looking at her, while toying with her ring she turned to face us, tilting her head.

‘’Expecting danger?’’

‘’Maybe, I don’t know. I don’t really care, I’ll… if something happened to her, Athena, I don’t know what I’ll do’’

Now, while her wish is simple it’ll also carry inevitable complication following our return, for the only way to make a fast journey is through a portal which obviously carry an enormous magical projection and, from my understanding, Daiyu magic doesn’t operate the same as Tsukiyomi thank to her corruption manipulation… Well, putting this aside, bringing Emeth along could be interesting; the whole story surrounding her creation is blurry and secretive but I do remember Tsukiyomi mentioning «new experiences» being important for the gal, sound like a valuable opportunity for just such a thing… even if the fluffed ones are bound to want my head on a platter after we come back – golem or not.

Obviously the important thing is; should I stick my neck out for Daiyu Jawahir? She’s been a great friend as far as I’m concerned, and going at lengths to help out near-stranger isn’t exactly out of the ordinary around these parts (can’t believe I’m getting married…).

>What will you do?
>>
>>32782112
Athena is a night of Zipangu and her loyalty lies with Ame first. We should go ask Ame/Tsu for the fluffy tail blessings to go help Daiyu find her kid and bring her back - it would be another potentially powerful ally and another favor Daiyu will owe us, after all.
>>
>>32782112
I don't like doing this, but help her.
Logically, by helping her get her daughter out of Gwyneth we strengthen her faction in the Demon Realm, in order to help keep Daiyu on the Throne, and oppose Deruella.

Isn't Gwyneth beyond Emeth's range of control, though? Won't the golem army shutdown or go out of control?

The golems are already out of control, right now they've stopped operating to fall in a ''sleep mode'' until Emeth come back. The distance between Rhyclan and the frontline would be something like York to Inverness, in today's britain.

‘’I wouldn’t mind a little adventure’’

Excitement, pure simple, raw excitement buzzing in my belly and quickly spread in my body as I couldn’t help a smile, Daiyu looked at me with a mixture of subdued emotions that quickly vanished in something soft and fluffy as genuine happiness filled her, which obviously radiated outwardly; I could tell just how afraid she’s been of rejection despite hiding it well, the mere presumption of the dragon –attempting- to hurt one of her daughters seem to have disturbed her very core.

‘’Aah… thank, Athena’’

While I certainly have some question I don’t feel like asking them, so instead I went to give her hand a little squeeze while turning toward Emeth, who by now had stopped playing with her golden ring.

‘’Do you want to come with us?’’

It was a simple cordial question on my part; she seemed rather puzzled by it as she tilted her head while frowning.
‘’…come?’’

She asked back with her fluttery voice.

‘’Yes, we’ll be going somewhere potentially dangerous’’

As I felt Daiyu’s hand squeeze mine, Emeth went deep in thought letting a soft, cute ‘’mmh’’ while rubbing her jaw, as if nursing a toothache, thankfully she conceded fast; she turned to face me and Daiyu and simply nodded vigorously while simultaneously taking her precious ring out of her hand, her outfit was as practical as ever without a hint of feminity but the many pockets definitely proved useful for the golem as she found a satisfying hiding spot for my little gift; she’s a good girl.

--
>>
It’s only after making our way back to our commune room that this potential eloping with Madame Daiyu Jawahir (while taking the precious coordinator of our golem army along with us) wouldn’t exactly be seen in a good light; the ease at which our trio entered the mansion though was definitely a show of trust as nobody asked me any question despite the business going on. Kyorn had apparently came back from the fortress through a portal as we crossed path briefly in the main hall while Siegfried was, apparently, accompanied by Zechariah and Mother Earth trying to puzzle some events of yesterday; for a moment I was tempted to interrupt Ame and Tsukiyomi whom, apparently, were having to deal with political ramification (Yukionnas were growing very uppity) so, in the end, I opted for secrecy, for even Sylphis was busy dealing with the death of her parents and the Mantis order, I saw her talking with a pair of other green bugs inside the mansion as we made our way to our room.

All this while the Demon Lord hand never left mine and it finally struck me, out of everyone in this place, me and Emeth were the only ones willing and caring to help her out.

‘’Hope you don’t mind getting chewed out when we do come back’’

A small letter was posed neatly on one of the desk of this once-infirmary, simple explanation saying ‘’we’ll be back!’’ that certainly isn’t going to calm down my fluffy lieges, I don’t have Siegfried charisma so wiggling myself out of trouble isn’t going to be easy but… it’ll be worth it, if only to put Daiyu at ease.

‘’I don’t mind, although now I… I’ll need some of your blood; you’ve been to that magical academy haven’t you?’’

‘’Indeed I did’’

I answered back automatically, even if cautious; the college of magi was one of Gwynedd few civilised holds in its northernmost lands, thankfully Zipangu fresh climate had us wear relatively warm clothes but it wouldn’t be enough for outside camping
>>
‘’Then, let’s get started’’

Her hand rubbed my cheek, she made no further movement, simply waiting for my approval and I yielded fast under her golden gaze; even if I was lacking my arm, I never went outside without a knife (I only had a damn shield to take with me there, too… rummaging in the armory would be a tad to inconspicuous with all the nervousness of the mansion) and, swiftly, brought it out of its scabbard and gave it to Daiyu who, slowly and delicately, cut into my forearm to draw a tiny trickle of blood from a calculated thin line.

‘’Remember that place, also, Emeth, dear come here’’

Daiyu extended her arm, quickly grabbing Emeth’s, interlocking her digits together while using her second hand to grab mine; I felt a strange prickling sensation on my barely noticeable wound followed by butterfly into my stomach as I remembered the clear snow, frigid air, naked trees and the big, big wooden structure of the college; a warm looking place housing a long decrepit corpse along with the Emeth shell… A place of heavy history for my husband.

‘’Hmm!?’’

I don’t know when nor how, but in the brief seconds I closed my eyes to concentrate a portal had formed in front of our trio; a dark, oval shaped, blue swirling looking –thing- reminding me of an ever spinning spiral had sprang to life right in front of us.

‘’Let’s go, they’ve already felt the corruption!’’

Urged by the Demon Lord, I stepped forth first while ignoring the strange feeling in my guts; not dread, it was the opposite, a strange comfort as, somehow, my instinct already knew this was corruption, harmless corruption.
>>
--
We emerged right in front of an old, old oak mansion, at least three story high and too large for me to care about exact meters; boots covered feet entered deep in ankle-high snow in concert of ‘’crunches’’ as we made it pass the portal, which closed not a second after our trespass. Looking at it now, followed by the sea of naked trees and deep, deep snow of the surrounding forest, gave me a strong feeling of nostalgia. I remember that cabin in the woods that we slept in, the giant guardian of ice that Siegfried, Sylphis and I broke nearly without a sweat, the phantom girl that emerged from its core only for Tsukiyomi to deliver the mercilessly sad news of her demise…

I tried to anticipate some kind of nausea, the voyage to another country was suprisingly smooth and swift compared to our previous one; obviously demonic magic worked differently from Tsukiyomi's craft and, in this case, was much more efficient.

‘’Phew.’’

Daiyu stood up, throwing back the religious hood and tugged on her long green hair to flow out as her head wings flapped in the air, tiny columns of smokes escaped her mouth constantly; she looked taller, prouder, looking into the large wooden building with purpose, never letting go of my or Emeth hand; the golem seemed much more interested in the forest than the college.

…it’s getting pretty damn cold in here.

‘’Forest or mansion?’’

I asked, trying my best to conceal my lack of comfort from the cold; dammit I should have thought this through, I –am- warm-blooded…

>What do you do?

Man, looks like the Bro and that Dragon are a little racist. Hating on demons like that under the table, harsh. I guess everyone hates them extra special for some reason.

We should ask about the habits and personality of this particular lilim. We do need leads if we're to find her quickly. And we must be quick, it sounds like Fendal really hates the Demon Lord and would love to schedule a little "accident" somehow to get at her. If I'm right then damn... what a fucking bitch.
>>
>>32784578
Why the hate on the dragon? She had the decency to tell Daiyu that her daughter was in danger to give her a chance to pull her daughteru out instead of just killing the daughteru.
>>
>>32784611
I said if I was right about that. Even so she's still slightly a bitch for being racist. I mean I know that demons have done some bad shit but they're not *all* evil.

Except that the Lilim in question undoubtedly was alive at the time when the Demon Realm was in open war with other nations, and likely engaged in atrocities of her own.

Cures for corruption can be researched, it's basically the zombie virus only without the whole "makes you undead" thing unless under certain circumstances.

Of course, as it is one of the greatest/most powerful "oh shit" buttons demons can push, it's no surprise they haven't researched a cure or (even worse for them), a vaccine. There is next to no benefit for them to do so.

Now if someone like Daiyu were to assist in this endeavor it would help out her trustability tremendously. But then again you'd basically be asking her to research a way to kill her really nice and slow. And once the tech level is high enough, a possible magical demon-only killing bioweapon. Fat chance of anyone taking that deal consciously.

You really hate the demons don't ya?

I'm only calling it like it is.
Their entire military strategy is to introduce bio-toxins into target civilian populations, having infected spread the infection further.
Not just military targets, but civilian population centers.
And it's always done through deception and subterfuge, never with warning.

>Cures for corruption can be researched
And you'd have them running around unsupervised among civilian populations that have no inoculations while such a cure is being researched?
And you believe that the Central Kingdoms, who developed the alchemic gun, haven't been trying (and failing) to find such a cure?

That'd be rather hilarious in that game actually. You'd get notifications like "Rape skyrockets in the United States" and the final victory is "Humanity has fully succumed to the nymphatic plague. All efforts to research a cure have stopped as humanity enters a new dark age of sexual excess."

‘’So who it is we’ll be unearthing?’’

Daiyu rolled her eyes at my comment while squeezing my hand hard; I tried my best to avoid grimacing while ignoring the cold, cold air filling my lungs. I forgot how cold it is in Gwynedd, even if the country is in spring the north is stuck in perpetual winters.

‘’Sieglinde, my eldest daughter, my husband was native to this land and she was born here as well’’

She trailed off afterward, letting go of my and Emeth’s hand to steps a few feet closer to the large college; its entrance was opened and hasn’t been disturbed in a while, snow already piled inside without, thankfully, covering much of the surface, allowing free reign of the corridors, hallways and the few visible room whose doors had been left open.

I quickly decided to accompany her, if only to keep myself moving.

‘’And what should I expect of her?’’

‘’She’s…’’

Daiyu answered quickly only to grow silent just as swift, looking downcast onto the snow momentarily I saw the wings at her hips strain against the religious robe momentarily as she regained her wits.

‘’The laziest and most spirited person I’ve ever seen, always had her heart in the right place at least… I made many mistake, one of them wasn’t listening too much to my eldest just because she never had much ambition. I don’t think my other daughters really liked her – too lazy for sex, too lazy to keep our dynasty strong – but she was animated by something else… and was hit the hardest by…’’

Daiyu stopped once she reached inside, turning to face me with a bitter expression.

‘’The drama of our family, you could say. She’s always been easily overlooked.’’
>>
She talked with obvious regrets at her faults and misgivings yet the distinctive hint of pride curled her lisps in quiet little smile; talking about this Sieglinde, her eldest child obviously filled her with radiant happiness that she simply couldn’t hide; there wasn’t any doubt at all that this Demon Lord loved her children, much more than her own life and happiness.

‘’Emeth…?’’

However, as I made my way inside with the Demon Lord, our golem-slash-bodyguard was still standing in the snow, gazing into the forest with serious eyes, hands balled in fists; for a moment I thought there was danger but, afore me or the Demon Lord could ask anything she shook her head and quietly made her way toward us.

‘’There’s something out there?’’

I couldn’t see or hear anything; same with Daiyu as she was the one to question our golem, the girl answered with a shrug.

‘’I don’t know. I want to go into the forest later.’’

Her tone held a firm, strong certainty that didn’t allow rebuttal.
>>
--

‘’Well then, if you were a lazy Lilim hiding inside a giant college, where would you «laze» around?’’

Coming here was all fine and dandy but actually finding our objective didn’t, come any closer; our trio stood inside the main hallway acting as main artery for the building, stairs leading upstairs, interconnected halls leading everywhere, it was a pretty big place, able to house a few hundred people.

‘’Sieglinde likes golems… and she’s also a blood mage, she often told me that the worst possible torture for her is being bored so… the laboratory? There has to be one right?’’

‘’There is, there’s also an old rotten corpse inside’’

Never mind the fact that Tsukiyomi had also cast an illusion inside the entire place.

«If I were crashing in this place waiting for my mom, where would I go….?»

>We found Tsukiyomi in a hidden room below the main hall, it is a secure, warm place that’d work well enough as a room if you moved some fluffy beddings.

‘’We came across a laboratory on our first time here that housed Emeth; if your daughter hates to stay idle I think she’ll be there.’’

‘’Hmm… yes, let’s go’’

Daiyu set out in the wrong direction and, after correcting her, we set out westward as I juggled my memory.

--

Our little journey was thoroughly undisturbed even after reaching our destination; the nice dome shaped glass structure held the potent magical phenomenon in its center; I felt a strange, foreign emotion constrict my chest at the mere sight of such magical power, the glass themselves seemed to vibrate at uneven intervals as the blue/dark rituals circles pulsed with light.

‘’This is… serious, how could it be left without supervision…?’’

‘’What do you think this is?’’

We already knew Sieglinde wasn’t in the laboratory; no doubt the Lilim would have picked up on our presence by now, or Daiyu’s internal radar would come ringing.

‘’I don’t know, but its powerful’’

Then her gaze trailed toward Emeth who had stepped closest to the secured dome, putting one of her hand on the glass, gazing without fear into this show of raw magical power.

‘’…and possibly related to golems, Zipangu wasn’t the only place studying them’’
>>
Given how smoothly this commonwealth is being built I’m suspecting some shenanigans related to our beloved fluffs; not that accusing them would do any good right now, while Emeth stayed behind to stare and guard our only exit I made my way inside the laboratory itself with Daiyu and I was met immediately with an oddity; the rotting corpse of the young man previously lying here was nowhere to be seen, his spot had been picked clean without leaving a single trace; the few automatons lying here and there had also disappeared, leaving this laboratory barren as even some tools had gone missing, only the heavy pieces of alchemy and the fragile glasses (along with the brightly colored tubes housing… some kind of eerie chemical) were left, even the mess of papers had been neatly organised.

‘’Someone’s been meticulous’’

‘’Wish I studied golems…’’

Daiyu grumbled no sign of her daughter anywhere but someone has been here recently.

The way back was carefree and lonely; each of us being on edge for sounds or signs of possible stalkers made any attempts at small talk rather impossible but, once we reached the main hall again I guided Daiyu toward the second place I could only think as relevant for anyone snooping around the place for any length of time, doubly so if they were competent mages.

The entrance was as conspicuous as ever, doubly so with the darkness leading into the bowels of this magical academy bereft of torches or alchemical apparatus; there was fortunately, a strobe of light covered by a closed door deep into the dark, dark hallway of this small, enclosed space.

‘’I’ll go first; Emeth will get behind you, Daiyu. Let’s go’’

I didn’t wait for any confirmation; I simply stepped forward and descended the stairs, trying to keep my footing solid as I couldn’t see a damn thing save for this obfuscated oranges light peeking through the corners of the closed door; again, nothing came to interrupt our stride, our file quickly met its destination without opposition and I put my hear to the door as I reached my destination…
I could hear some kind of… cracking? Clicking? A constant «Criiick…Criick» reminding me of rubbing metals left me puzzled, it wasn’t anything like the rattle of a blade on a scabbard.

‘’There’s something inside’’

‘’…take it slow’’

‘’Slow?’’

Daiyu repeated, wings flapping gently behind me as I couldn’t help a little amused smile.

‘’You daughter isn’t our enemy, right?’’

I couldn’t see her face very well in the darkness, but she stepped back while staying silent and I immediately proceeded to knock on the door with my tail, provoking a dull knock and, for good measure, I gave the wooden door another go and swiftly turned the doorknob; it opened inward and immediately basked the hallway in light.
I had completely forgotten how the room looked, but it definitely looked cozy, mixture of wood and stones made up the walls while furniture’s adorned its walls, Tsukiyomi had previously sit on the far back, greeting us with the splendor of her outstretched tails; here things were different, a few additional desks had been put in there and the metal automaton that I distinctively remember in the laboratory had found their way inside the place, lying like broken puppets in the corners. The distinctive, metallic «Critch» I picked up on earlier was made by a pair of actually doll-sized construct; metallic, humanoid shaped, bolts filled things bounced up and down upon our intrusion, dangerous electricity filling every surface of their body as the crackling change form rubbing metals to lethal, dangerous and powerful electricity; raw magical juices kept on flowing between the bolts as both golems fled toward the center of the room(causing constant clicking noises) where someone was lying asleep on two large mattress.

A woman – a demon at that- was somehow sleeping through this mess without a single care in the world, lying on her back with droll escaping the side of her mouth, a large thick spaded tail escaped her side to lay on the floor while two big pointed horns (with saw like formations on their flanks) escaped the side of her head only to twist upward. Curled red hair fell all the way down toward her butt in a complete and total mess; completely unlike my ponytails, Daiyu’s lovely cascade of green of even Emeth naturally even curls, here it pointed out and inward in spikes or rolls, as if caught in a constant state of war. I couldn’t’ help but feel a tad jealous, her forms were great, not too big, not too thin and her sleeping face –even if ridiculous- had all the features to please men and women alike with beautiful charisma.

…now, two tiny electric golem kept on jumping, filled with electricity, as if growling at our trio to stay far, far away.

Alright… alright, take it slow now; she’s obviously enjoying herself, now to take a step inside… slow and steady, those toys look cheap but getting zapped certainly isn’t my ambition; I kept a healthy distance of course and only turn when I found myself alone.

Daiyu hadn’t moved an inch and of course Emeth didn’t force her way through; the Demon Lord was trying her best to keep her breathing under wrap, masking her mouth with her hands as trails of tears fell from her eyes, her golden iris looking brighter and vivid; Daiyu was caught in her own little world of happiness, this was undoubtedly her daughter, nothing else could possibly move her this much.

Well then, time to get to work; I turned back toward this Sieglinde, the two metal toys were now bristling with energy, a newly formed electric bridge linking them together kept on zapping as the multitudes of bolts flashed with electricity; either alchemical or magical, I couldn’t say.

‘’ROOOOOOOOM SEEEEEEERVIIIII—‘’

I couldn’t even finish my scream, a loud «CLACK» resonated even louder than my voice as I, somehow, managed to scare the toys into unleashing their cargo; two bright ‘’colored’’ lines had already came in contact with my shield (that I raised protectively –before- yelling, of course) and, of course, with it being metal I felt a very real, harsh pain throughout my arm and entire body, hot, burning hot pain came and went in the flash of an eye, crisping my entire body.

‘’FUUUUUUCK’’

This was an honest yell of pain because, good lords above, did it hurt. My mouth tasted metal as I felt back a few healthy pace, Emeth charging ahead, pushing Daiyu out of the way as the toys revved, some kind of helix behind them twisting in constant metallic «Cracks»

Thankfully I wasn’t down; while foggy my vision was good and now Daiyu actually stepped as well while Emeth kept herself in front of me.

Thank girl.

‘’Eeeeh? No food?’’

I heard a sleepy voice as I coughed and decided to search for my gourd, some cold water would do the tricks, yeah…
And then silence, complete, total silence, allowing me to gather my wit and cough out some unpleasant lump in my throat that, thankfully, didn’t escape as blood or vomit.

‘’I want you to apologize, right now’’

‘’W-what? That’s the first thing you tell me after thirty years!?’’

‘’Yes, your toys harmed my benefactor. Apologize. Now.’’

The girl – Sieglinde- was sitting cross-legged, rubbing the sleep out of her eyes while puffing her cheeks in faux anger, muttering an «s-sorry» that felt like putting teeth and was, for all intent and purpose, thoroughly lackluster.

>Observe in silence or make some comment?

>>

You see this is why Link likes to put a few planks of wood behind the metal, wears leather gauntlets, and had leather straps for his shields.

Because magical lightning is a thing and that makes the shield able to stop it. Why didn't she have these rather basic and utterly sensible accessories for her board? I mean, c'mon, we call it sword and board, implying wooden boards are a part of it.
>>
>>32789887

Mostly because the teleportation happened on such short notice she only had time to grab a shield and go.
>>
>>32789887

I'm a little surprised she isn't on the floor, temporarily paralyzed from that. Getting shocked tends to fuck you up.
>>
>>32789960
When she gets back, she's going to a blacksmith and having the wooden boards and a leather grip cover permanently installed.

You even said lightning mages are the most common. You can bet your ass they won't be throwing "warning" or "stun" bolts at her.

In fact, why did the golems hold back? You'd thing they'd attempt to deep fry anyone trying to sneak attack their owner.
>>
>>32790313
Kind of redundant when she doesn't even have a prosthetic arm yet.
And this isn't even her regular shield, just one she grabbed because it was available.

Phew, recovering surprisingly quickly aren’t I? Throbbing pain in my arms and legs had already vanished, now I simply felt a vague uncomfortable pressure around my shoulder, each breather entering and exiting my nose felt like evacuating toxins and, once I actually managed to step up without Emeth help (who still insisted on cradling my body anyway) I earned an appreciative ‘’Oooh’’ from the Lilim who, by now, had shifted her stance to interest with a smirk, supporting her chin on her fist.

‘’Quite tough aren’t we?’’

Cheeky…

‘’Next time, Daiyu, you’ll be waking her up’’

‘’I certainly intend to’’

She eyed the electric toy that, as if on cue, jumped down Sieglinde shoulders and landed on her legs, then quickly scampered to hug her belly while the Lilim put a protective arm around her metal, electric puppet.

‘’No harming the golem, mom. Also you really need to change.’’

Then she certainly turned her head away, trying a ‘’loud whisper’’ that simply carried her next sentence in a hoarse voice.

«missedyouyaknow»

Daiyu was smiling ears to ears, rubbing her eyes constantly; isn’t this just adorable?

‘’Hate to break it but… we’ve got something to do now, right? Your girl is safe, thankfully. We ought to go back fast’’

My words brought the mother out of her little happy world and she straightened herself, however the one to interrupt was the Lilim, whose head turned at me in a frown.
>>
‘’Whatcha mean ‘’going back?’’ I’m not exactly welcomed to Zipangu and it never was my home to begin with’’

I felt the need to clear my throat and dig into my gourd once more; Daiyu took this opportunity to take the lead in the conversation.

‘’Dear… Sieglinde, I’m just happy to see you again’’

It seemed my dear friend Daiyu Jawahir, liege lord of Demon, was at a complete and total loss of words with her daughter; she’s a very, very soft woman for being a «Demon Lord». For some reason, I felt my tail twitch as I crossed eyes with Sieglinde, her position certainly reinforced her laziness but she, for some reason, smiled form ears to ears, revealing worryingly sharp teeth.

‘’I had a scuffle with a fluffed whore when Icame back here with the stone, she said that she’d kill me without provocation if I were to step into her land of Zipangu again; I can’t exactly «come back» with such a revelation’’

Leaving aside the insult to the mother of my liege, this’ll prove more complicated than a simple fetch and grab…

>>32790521
"Does she do this all the time, Daiyu? Look, if she's not welcome in Zipangu, and already made enemies of our benefactors there, then is there some other place she could lay low?"

We're trying to get these damn succubuses to safety, and they do nothing but keep on antagonizing the host nations. This is very problematic.
>>
>>32790588
>you have my word that Tsu won't harm you

We're not putting words in anyone's mouths. The idea is we get everyone back to the cat castle now, figure out if Daiyu's kid is going to stay or not, and if not Daiyu just portals her out to wherever. Mission accomplished. If we present the situation to Tsu/Ame as nothing but a win/win for Zipangu and them then it will calm their tits, because doing this favor for Daiyu is a win/win.

Wait, how long did she hold out against Tsu? It would be useful to know her general powerlevel and max powerlevel. Because she sounds almost exactly like Sol, hates to put any real effort into anything, including fighting. Damnit everyone hates demons, like, everyone, really hates them with the passion of a thousand black suns. Very problematic.

Is there any way send a mediator or something? Given the rather desperate situation I'd say that Zipangu isn't in the situation where they can turn down potential powerful allies. Even if she doesn't fight, another golem master would help us get up the tech tree faster. And as Deruella is already resorting to blood magic having someone else who also knows about it (and I doubt we have such people given how it's considered a "dark" art) would help in the counter department.

>>32790566
You, my good sir, would understandably hold a grudge against a person whom you didn't really hurt that much issuing a death threat to you after kicking your ass.
>>
>>32790711

>>
>>32790664
Except that the only way that Sieglinde is useful is if she actually fights against Deruella and escalates the Demon Realm civil war, which she won't do because she's a lazy NEET.
>>
>>32790711
>Wait, how long did she hold out against Tsu?

Not too long because she gave up when the fight was actually turning serious, she did get her ass kicked al lthe same but nothing too serious.

Mostly because she kept on antagonising the hell out of Tsu.
>>
The bottom line is that the situation has changed and we can figure out what to do with Daiyu's kid once we get to the cat castle. When Tsu made that threat she certainly didn't know that Yuyu was actually Daiyu, after all, and Tsu may not like Daiyu she is at least tolerating her because Daiyu is fucking helpful to have around and any fluffy tail smart enough to get to nine tails will recognize that there's nothing but gains to be made in handling this surprise favor that makes Daiyu owe your court a solid.

Daiyu's kid doesn't need to be useful, our concern with her is just getting her to the cat castle and then Daiyu can port her out or keep her around or whatever.

>>
>>32790912
If she didn't know that, then why did she even try to steal the soul? Just for kicks?
>>
>>32790946

Because she was fascinated by the golem and found out it needed a soul to be completed. The fact it was a secret weapon meant to control thousands upon thousands of battle golems wasn't that obvious.

And also there's more reasons for her actions, none of which I'll tell easily.

Now I regret not asking Daiyu about her plans for the Demon Realm after the war.
Even with its civil war, it's going to come out of this Crusade in far better shape than Zipangu, Gwyneth, or the Central Kingdoms.
Is she really going to be content with only solidifying the kingdom's borders?
I find it hard to believe that she'd stop any intelligence operations that has people being Corrupted or geased in other nations, since she'll go to any lengths to ensure that her daughters are safe.

The idea of Sieglinde being allowed access to Zipangu's superweapon, the golem army, seems pretty laughable, since Sieglinde shows no loyalty to Zipangu, stole their superweapon's vital component once before, and pretty much acted like a cunt until she got her words force-fed to her.

I suspect that when it comes to that Daiyu will make an attempt to talk her down. If she fails to do so we will see just how committed she is to the path of peace. She'll be sad, but if she's truly committed and her daughter makes herself into a diehard obstacle then she will reluctantly raise her mutated claws at her.

In a real way, it'll be the ultimate loyalty test. If this man can kill his mother figure to prevent the zombie apocalypse, she should be able to do something similar to ensure world peace.

>>32791492
How the hell was she supposed to know that? If she did I doubt she'd take it as that would mean MAJOR heat. Nobody takes super hot merchandise without an elaborate plan to ensure they get away with it or quickly unload it to a very skilled fence who also has a plan to unload it upon getting it rather quickly.
>>
>>32791560
Oh, sure, the woman who RAN from making the necessary decision decades ago and basically let the Demon Realm go all to hell, and open a third front in this war, is going to be able to find the courage to face the mistakes she's been hiding from for all these years.
She's got a proven track record of not being able to do it.

And it doesn't matter if Sieglinde knew about the superweapon aspect of Emeth or not; she still stole the component, she was going to steal the golem too, she was still an aggressive cunt about it, and couldn't back up her shit-talking when push came to shove.
>>
>>32791276
There might be some hate there, but she's also a mother. And she knows that, if you wish to remain unharmed, you do NOT threaten their kids. Next to killing them yourself, it's the fastest way to sign your own death warrant if that person is able to kill you.

The sounds of crackling and scratching metals became the only sound for a short time; Sieglinde hugged the pair of metal, electric doll on her belly as they hugged and trembled on the Lilim; for a pair of faceless metallic, bolt filled dolls there was certainly a lot of expression through amazing body language. The girl was also eyeing Emeth with great interest and the golem, in turn, stared back, oftentimes veering her gaze toward the scared little doll not even fifty centimeters tall.

‘’You’ll need to leave this place either way.’’

Daiyu stated which didn’t run very well by her daughter as she frowned in displeasure.

‘’This place is a goldmine for golems, it’ll be a tad too soon to get out right now’’

‘’ A dragon threatened your life, this war is already in its closing stage – Zipangu is going all out to deny the foothold of the church – I’m afraid you won’t have much time to study’’

I was quick to interject behind Daiyu, going forward on solid legs to stand beside the green haired succubus, clutching my shield solidly – I faced her daughter with all the pride I could muster, staring directly onto her pale, golden iris. Sieglinde was rather curt, she let out a sight while rubbing her forehead, obviously displease by my new she nevertheless let out the phrase «So that’s why…» before facing us again, letting go of her emotional, metal puppet to put both her hand on her knees and lean forward while her thick tail hovered beside her, then started to wiggle sideway.

‘’Let me tell you something about Daiyu Jawahir’’

There’s one thing I knew right then; Sieglinde Jawahir was very different from her mother, her stance carried none of the grace you’d expect of a leader yet she made up for it through pure, raw spirit and honest emotions. Anger, frustration, hatred, love, passion, all of it flashed across her face clear as day and Daiyu stiffened, looking onto her sitting daughter with wide eyes.

War, politic, love… while talented with subterfuge, there is one thing she’s –truly- good at, one thing I saw as her eldest daughter stay true for more than two hundred years.’’

She was speaking with passion and right from the heart, yet hidden anger and aggressiveness lurked within her smile and eyes.

‘’She’s a mom, a loving, simple mom, right down to the marrows of her bone. She sat on the throne yes and she’s been dealing with it, yes, but in the end, Daiyu Jawahir is a mother –my mother-.’

A most important precision I’m sure, Sieglinde kept on looking straight at me, completely ignoring her mother and Emeth, the cute puppet seemed to have regained energy and now hopped off their matron to hug one another on the second mattress.

‘’She’s in Zipangu to save my sister – whom I’ve grown to hate- from an all too familiar path. There’s one thing I’m going to promise, lizard of Zipangu; I’ve willingly kept myself away from this mess because my mom believe she can deal with it, for better or worse; these decision are hers and I’ll respect them. If I step onto that island…’’

This time her gaze turned toward her mother who was standing straight, completely overwhelmed; her hand searched for mine but only found emptiness and now she was clutching onto my cloth.

‘’…I will be her –HER- ally and no one else. I won’t run from who I am, either. My name is Sieglinde Jawahir, daughter of Daiyu Jawahir and if anybody got a problem with that, they can go fuck themselves. I’ll stop being a lazy piece of shit because I love my mom with all my heart and she deserve the efforts I’ll put out’’

This girl… this Lilim, this demon, I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone that loyal – a truly unique form of familial love and loyalty -.

Sometimes it has to be done. Say you fathered/mothered a serial killer, the best, most successful killer of men and women of the modern era. The dead are piling up and the cops need your help to bring him down once and for all. He really will continue to add bodies to his grim tally unless you aide them.

He's still your son and all but you have two paths to take. A critical, moral choice. Either become their accomplice and aid them in further murders, or man up and correct the unfortunate matter by aiding the police in the apprehension of the suspect and thus the prevention of further loss of innocent life.

I'm firmly in the former camp. In fact, I'd insist on throwing the switch myself. I failed, the world was made a worse place because of me. To atone, I must end the existence of my own son. It is only fitting, and furthermore it is the right thing to do. They must be stopped, and I ought play a role in doing so.

>>32791986
Knew that was the reason. In the end, she wants to keep Deruella from making herself the world's enemy like she did. For the fate of the enemy of the world is a strict dichotomy. They either succeed, or they DIE horribly. To insist is to reinforce that dichotomy. And let me tell you, when you are literally challenging the whole world, your odds are slim to none.

>>32792139
She can into blood magic, has just sworn fealty to our side if she comes with, and hates Deruella. We do kind of need someone who knows all about that, as Deruella certainly does. We need a counter. Daiyu can counter the charm magic, but I doubt she's able to counter Blood Magic. We need counters, *hard* counters to win this. We sacrificed one to gain Leila and possibly, hopefully, Radiance. We cannot afford to sacrifice any more if we want to win this without a single true casualty beyond Avina's. Think man, with the brain, not the heart or gut.

Besides mixing up former and latter (former refers to the first clause, so you just said that you would aid a serial killer), what you said has absolutely no relevance, since Daiyu made her choice of aiding Deruella's killing spree by not stopping her when she could, and instead hiding away so that she couldn't stop Deruella's excesses.

She will only be there so long as Daiyu is there, and how willing is Daiyu going to be when we're going to actively try to kill Deruella and her minions?

Given that this has been revealed has Daiyu very, very personnal problem, there's no certainty isn't there. So far she's been trying very hard to fix that mess.

Alright, you said that Sieglinde would actually be of use to us in the two days we have.
What, exactly, can she do to Orion or his angels, that would let us win? What, exactly, can her blood magic and alchemy do to Deruella's hidden agents or against the Knife?

I've seen nothing but hot air and blustering so far.

FUCK! Damnit, I need to sleep. Oh well, the point stands. She probably hid away for other reasons. No way in hell Zipangu magi would reveal their secrets to a "demon". And as forcing info out of an unwilling target through charm magic is akin to the final stages of Reaper Indoctrination it'd mean that, if there were more "subtleties" to it beyond a literal interpretation, they'd be unable to describe them. As you just made them flat fucking retarded. And thus, you'd fuck it all up. There is a "limiter" to these types of things.

And people can change. See one or two murders? "Oh no, my kid would never do that"

See a few more, with a few signatures you feel are familiar: "Please no, don't let it be him"

See a few more after that, the fucker is acting EXACTLY like how you're dark imagination and nightmares have lead you to believe they would if they went down that path: "Oh God, oh god it's true..."

That's when you have to make a conscious choice. And we're definitely at that third stage. The choice is hers, and I pray she makes the right choice. I do not want to fight her, and I do not want her to aide the felwhore. It's a good thing that, given previous data, she wants to atone for her sins quite badly.

>>32792355
I have said this quest is "NGE for perverts". Looks like I was quite right in my assessment.
>>
>>32792497
>So far she's been trying very hard to fix that mess.
Well, hiding away for a decade or two with no contact with her minions or attempting to reign in her daughter until things got too late, is a pretty bad track record.
She's a loving mom, sure, but she also accidentally burns down the house, does nothing when one of her daughters put together a gang and starts killing people, doesn't pull her daughter back from insulting their host, and basically lets the entire family fall apart.
She maybe a loving mother, but she's also a pretty ineffective and incompetent one. It really makes you wonder how she became the Demon Lord.

Oh, wait.
I'm wrong.
She didn't do nothing when Deruella started killing people.
She ran away from the problem and hid, hoping it would all go away.
>>
>>32792500

>Alright, you said that Sieglinde would actually be of use to us in the two days we have.

Significantly upgrade Emeth capacity to take on additional golem and may also help her become ‘’whole’’ without waiting for the next few years, upgrade a few golems along the way if need be and participate in battle since she’s got her mother’s blood and is tough as nail.

>What, exactly, can her blood magic and alchemy do to Deruella's hidden agents or against the Knife?

First, by bringing knowledge of how blood magic actually work, Deruella has been described as a genius – the two sisters are pretty much equal in Alchemy and Blood magic/rituals now and if you find enough hints as to what Deruella is plotting, she might just figure out how she’s so confident in unleashing Machitehew.

As for the knife, she could potentially forge a counter artefact but the price to make it is likely to be too steep to allow; her and Daiyu working together will also be a great sight to see in term of raw effectiveness.
>>
>>32792634
>Significantly upgrade Emeth
And we will have absolutely no guarantees that she won't put backdoors into Emeth and the golem control mainframe so that she can take control after the war, or to interfere with us from killing Deruella when Daiyu wants to 'save' her.

So the golem upgrades would be useful against the Crusaders, and against the lower-ranked and mid-ranked angels; maybe even against the high-ranked ones.

But is she going to actually be of use when up against Orion? Can she actually fight alongside us against Orion?
>>
>>32792611

Bringing together nearly all-powerful demons under heel isn't an easy thing to do, even if they are your kids. Now couple that with increasing ambition and delusion of grandeurs with very few of those kids not listening to the shit you went through (ie, genocide) then thinking they can actually do better while they keep on gnawing at the foundation of your country to gain more authority for themselves while simultaneously exploiting you and your husband isn’t easy – but she was dealing with it all rather fine. It’s when Daiyu had a stillbirth daughter (her fifth one) that everything started to fall apart hard and she fell in a depression and ‘’left’’ while the demons pushed for a war with Zipangu.

Family life with demons is in no way, shape or form normal or easy and this is the true, first ‘’hiccup’’ she had in her entire two-years reign, the very first time she simply gave up and tried to ran away; which obviously didn’t work.

I’m not done with today update, but don’t cast away Sieglinde rants, because trust me, they hold a startling amount of truths.

>>32792709

>And we will have absolutely no guarantees that she won't put backdoors into Emeth and the golem control mainframe so that she can take control after the war, or to interfere with us from killing Deruella when Daiyu wants to 'save' her.

Emeth isn't so easy to hack anymore, she's got two very, very different experience and lived through them while the size of her soul swelled considerably.

>But is she going to actually be of use when up against Orion? Can she actually fight alongside us against Orion?

Yes, yes she can. She's not the msot talented in a fight but has more than enough raw talents and power to bring a duel with Tsu to a two-kill scenario - she's simply preferred to pursue her academic passion instead.

Is Sieglinde going to be a cunt and force Siegfried to pass all of our requests through Daiyu?

Is she going to make this into an ordeal by constantly being a bitch to everyone except her mom?
If she wants people to listen to her side of the genocide story, maybe she should try being less of a cunt and have actual evidence to back up her story instead of just saying "I was there, I know the truth".
We've got a fucking dwarf soul we can talk to who also lived through it. We should fact-check whatever she says against what he knows.

Only if they, in turn, are being a bitch to ehr mom. Sieglinde just got a confrontationalist problem.

Having him would really help the fights, so I don't see why at least one mage (Siegfried or Leila) wouldn't ask him about the Demon Lord's daughter's claims that her mom wasn't really responsible for two genocides, especially since he lived through one.
>>

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=38N67X68oxw

So she adapted the "instant kill" path to victory over "hard" opponents. Funny thing people forget about GG, the first game had it that, if you actually landed it, the whole fucking MATCH was over. But if the opponent put in the right combo at the moment it hit, they'd win instead. It was the embodiment of an "all in" attack. That shot would decide it all. Either you won at that moment, or your opponent did. No middle ground. You went "All In" and prayed you combed into it perfectly.

I totally get it, as a gambler. If they're kicking your ass you might as well go all in, because if you''re right... you've already won.
>>
>>32792881

>her mom wasn't really responsible for two genocides

That's a very unfair way to put it, as she certainly did introduce the corruption. This inevitably make her responsible, what Sieglinde would rant about tough, is the whole state of the dwarves and elves -before- their fall into total depravity. History books picture the dwarvens holds and the few elven city as place of learnings, camaraderie and the likes.

Sweet, sweet illusion.

Demons made one very, very vital mistake, something I won't tell of course, unless you guys push to see the (possible) truth of this matter.

Oh, what?
Painting the picture that the dwarves and the elves were, metaphorically, the Irish right before the Potato Famine? That it was their fault for having such a large population and being so dependent on one of the most efficient and nutritious crops they could possibly grow on their land, as well as the factors that exasperated the situation?
That if it hadn't been the Corruption being introduced by Daiyu, that it would have been something else?

I don't think Sieglinde is worth negotiating with.
She's already said that she's loyal ONLY to Daiyu.
So we should be asking Daiyu what she's willing to do, what she's going to do, to make sure that Sieglinde helps Zipangu's war effort, and doesn't completely fuck everything up because she's a confrontational bitch.

Confronting Daiyu? That sound like a very fair thing to ask - and write-
>>
>>32793143
A fair question, after what Seiglinde said, is whether Daiyu is going to interfere if we get a shot at Deruella. Sure, Seiglinde said that she hates Deruella now, but she also said that she's loyal to Daiyu and that she'll let mom make the choices, no matter what they are, including trying to talk Deruella into stopping her plans.

Plans which have already cost people their lives by having loved ones and people they trusted stab them in the stomach, and killing daughters far away from their mothers at the hands of trusted companions.

Is it a hard question? Yes.
But it's also a fair question since Daiyu's last reaction to a crisis of whether to stop her daughter or not, was to run away and hide for two decades.

And? What does that have to do with the fact that Daiyu is directly responsible for the deaths of millions?
Is she trying to say that the two civilizations would have fallen without Daiyu's interference? Or that because of their hedonism, that somehow lessens Daiyu's guilt?

That's like saying that because some criminals were caught, that placing people into concentration camps is okay. Or that because of the decadence and corruption of the ruling class, Cambodia's killing fields were justified and that Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge were not guilty of their atrocities.
Or the French Revolution and the bloody purges.

I get that Sieglinde, wants to defend Daiyu, but I think that just as she accuses others of unduly blaming Daiyu, she whitewashes her mother's crimes. She probably doesn't value anyone's lives compared to her mom's feelings.

Sounds like a plan actually. We do need to hear this story, if only to clear everything up. Our biggest problem this whole quest has been not having enough information.

Along with the capture of the werewolf and having two embodiments on our side that probably know a great deal about Orion and the kind of bastard he is, we're *finally* in a potential situation where we can actually get all the info required to make fully informed, rational choices instead of the "shot in the dark" choices we've been forced to make up until now.

It'd be a marked improvement, we'd finally be able to make moves as though we were a true chessmaster akin to Light, Moriarty, and Lelouch. And I fear we're going to have to, in order to get what we want.

As something has just come up that will cause me to miss the next part of this thread I will preemptively cast my vote to bring her along with us.

We quite literally need all the help we can get and Tsu is no idiot nor is she ruled by emotions. She's as cold and calculating as any super villain when the chips are down and they sure as hell are now. She'll make the right choice, even if she's grinding her teeth and cursing her name under her breath.

Same goes for that dragon hopefully. She didn't live that long by being stupid and this is one hell of an asset. Plus barbequing her is a one way ticket to a no holds barred duel to the death with the Demon Lord. Very much something to avoid at all costs, I'm pretty sure her Shoggoth-Mode can kick elder dragon ass. Lovecraftian horrors are notoriously hard to kill.

‘’Pretty speech; your loyalty to your family and mother is admirable, Sieglinde so I’m sure you understand when I say my allegiance belong to my queen and the land of Zipangu first and foremost.’’

The large smile of the redheaded Lilim grew dimmer while she leaned back slightly, her large, thick demonic tail stopping its waggling as we exchanged a longer stare; we’ve made both our purpose clear now, the one key actor of this scene would need to make a decision and she knew it, for Daiyu Jawahir stood completely rigid, her golden gaze locked with the eyes of her daughter who never stopped smiling, my liege friend was deep, deep in through, going as far as frowning until, finally she broke the silence on her own.

‘’Sieglinde… I don’t aim to hurt Zipangu anymore than I already have’’

‘’Yet you want to save Deruella despite the fact that everyone in that place want her dead. They’ve got good reasons, too, it’s not like dear sister hasn’t been a champion at antagonising folks up there’’

She struck a nerve as Daiyu couldn’t contain an angry twitch, the wings upon her head followed in a few flaps; this is a very sensitive subject to be sure thus I opted to step in, if that Lilim could only be reined in by her mother… then I had to know how much resolve she possessed – it’s a very dangerous game to stumble around with demons, doubly so when you deal with the Demon Lord family –.

‘’I’m not going to allow a potential traitor in our midst, Daiyu’’

‘’She’s not…’’

She snapped back and turned to me very quickly; features warped by anger at my implications, I quickly interjected while Emeth walked beside me. The golem seemed to be smelling dangers and was appropriately reacting, the golden runes on her body lighting up in magical energy.

‘’She’s your ally, the only person that will stand behind you a hundred percent. I can’t say the same, Daiyu, you are my friend, and I’ve put value in our time together – but I’ve been a knight of Zipangu and swore fealty to Ame-no-Uzume, an oath that will stay until death or she release from my services -. I can’t think of anyone that wouldn’t think of her as a traitor if she were to run around with that kind of attitude, ready to confront anyone in the blink of an eye’’

My provocation with met with a sarcastic grunt, Sieglinde hadn’t bothered to stand up and instead leaned forward again, hands clawing at her knees as her messy hair fell in front of her eyes.

‘’All I want is for people to avoid insulting my mom in my vicinity, I’m not going to tolerate that anymore’’

Her stance is rather easy to understand; back in my childhood people kept on bitching and moaning about my mother, insulting her memory, how she should have listened to the ‘’one’’ Matriarch; inevitably I got very, very angry and in the end, I left that land behind completely, the subject of my mother is still a touchy subject.

I can empathise with that wish, passivity is a poison, I’ve realized that all too late.

‘’So let me ask you a few simple things, my friend’’

I decided to press on, ignoring Sieglinde who turned to look at her dolls momentarily, gesturing for them to come closer and the tiny, metals bolts filled silhouette came with great apprehension as Daiyu looked downcast, biting her bottom lisps in contained frustration.
‘’What is it that you want to do? What are you willing to do and finally – how will you make sure your precious daughter doesn’t alienate every single leaders of our would-be commonwealth?’’

A strangely sweet giggle escaped the redhead demon; her tail went back to waggling as she looked up toward us in anticipation.

‘’I want…’’

I don’t know why I seem to think of Daiyu as a dear friend but there was a very sharp pain in my chest as I saw the distress in her eyes and the sheer, raw vulnerability that momentarily wracked her form; something that didn’t escape her daughter as I practically heard her overprotective instinct flare alive in a sharp intake of breath.

‘’… a chance to speak with my daughter. I’ll find her alone if I must, I’ll stop her plot, ruin her ambition, force her stand down’’

‘’And escape the crimes she committed to Zipangu?’’

She twitched again at my question but faced me straight without jittering or looking down.

‘’Yes’’

She answered without backing down.

‘’Whether her sins can be forgiven or repaid will be left for your leaders to decide, but I’m not going to allow an execution.’’

Fair enough, for a moment my stare strayed toward Sieglinde; the redhead was smiling from ears to ears again, rolling a strand of curly red hair around her index as she watched and listened intensely.

‘’In the meantime… I’ll give an oath. Charms and geass are completely useless on my daughters and myself; oaths are the only thing I have left. I’ll fight the church and the angel, I’ll even bring my precious family in harm way so victory against Orion can be achieved – and I’ll find her agent, that traitor’’

She interrupted herself quickly, turning back toward Sieglinde who frowned under the new stare; Daiyu seemed to have regained vitality in the few seconds she started talking, it felt as if a new woman was standing before me – someone with renewed purpose, someone that wasn’t so scared anymore, that shed their hostage mentality.

‘’I’ll make sure my dear Sieglinde will be helping out; she think me a vulnerable lamb, trust me, I’m not.’’

"And if she refuses? If Deruella makes you choose between her, and Siegfried?"

So Daiyu will do her level best, and so will Sieglinde, to interfere with any attempt to kill Deruella, then.
Does Daiyu have any idea what she'll do when Deruella refuses to give up?
>>
>>32804798
Did you not notice that Daiyu's Oath only covers beating Orion and finding Deruella's remaining agent?
She's specifically leaving out fighting against Deruella, and has already said that she won't let anyone kill her. If Deruella refuses to back down and continues to fight, what is Daiyu going to do? Continue interfering with Zipangu's fight against Deruella even as she slips away to create more strife and kill again?

It mustn’t be easy for a loving mother to come to this decision, even if it is incredibly selfish; Deruella committed many crimes that will undoubtedly warrant execution, I’m certain Tsukiyomi will be the wanting the most blood out of anyone thank to the recent demise of Batrion, she’s been a champion at hiding it but the ordeal has made her very, very angry without any outlets save for murdering the opposition.

‘’It’s highly likely that you’ll have to choose between your oath and Deruella; she might, quite simply, not give up. What will you do then, Deruella, if you can’t reason with her?’’

We’ve been skirting around the issue long enough, I tried to drop it as gently as I could but there was simply no way to be delicate when asking a mother to kill her child; Sieglinde eyes darted toward her mother as she listened intensely, brows furrowed while her freed hand played with the nervous electric dolls absent-mindedly. Daiyu closed her eyes while balling her hands in fists, avoiding my and her daughter gaze. Some hints of emotions flashed across her face, silence stretching into a full minute while she stood completely still, as if completely unable to breathe.

‘’Then I’ll fight her; I’ll be the one taking the risks to stop her’’

‘’Will you kill her if that’s your only option, Daiyu?’’

I hated putting her on the spot like that but I had to – my words had the effect of an arrow, her whole body stiffened as she grimace in turn, as if ready to protest loudly.

‘’I’ve already lost a daughter’’

Sieglinde responded with an angry, exasperated ‘’tsk’’ and turned away while I did my best to keep my astonishment from showing on my face and leading me astray; that revelation certainly speak volume for her ambition at least, the pain of losing one of your child isn’t something easy to overcome, and now I’ve asked her to kill another one of her kids.

Heartless? Yes, I’m asking the worst thing possible of my new friend, but it is still necessary.

‘’…I don’t know if I can bring myself to kill her; I’ll have to see for myself if anything of the adorable little girl that I saw growing up remains’’

‘’Thirty years is a long, long time, mom’’

Who said it would be unsupported?

Of course they'll be supported, as per the original plan. What I'm saying is that we launch the attack against the nuke earlier than originally planned, so that it is more likely that Orion will go to defend the nuke than to escort the Crusader reinforcements or the main Crusader army.
Make it as likely as possible that Orion will be at the nuke, and that the two demons will be on the team that will have the highest likelihood of facing him.
>>

Making sure that Daiyu and Sieglinde are on the team that fights against Orion improves our chances of victory the most. No but treating our succubutt allies as scum and penal-soldiers is bad and anon should feel bad about it. We're working for a world where everyone can be excellent to one another, not having the shadowiest of runs.
>>
>>32808393
And what do you suggest we do, leave them behind, safely in the castle while the rest of the army goes into what is undoubtedly a meatgrinder of a battle?

They signed up to be on the frontline, and they have the combat power to actually be useful in the fight against Orion; why shouldn't they be thrown into the fight just like any other soldier we have?

You're either somehow missing the painfully obvious point being made or are intentionally ignoring it. I'll try explaining it this way:

Hatemongering succubutts, dragonbutts and other allies bad.

Being excellent to people and respecting them good.

There's nothing wrong with them fighting on the fronts if that's where they're best able to serve but singling them out from a misguided attempt to rationalize bias against our succubutts is silly.

‘’I’ll vouch for you, Daiyu but you know I can’t promise anything; Deruella hurt a lot of people, my liege is… probably just a little bit less vindictive than her mother’’

Emeth craned her neck toward me, tilting her head briefly in puzzlement as my hand reached the back of her neck; the Demon Lord was reacting as intensely as ever, all the implications of our discussions assailing her with strong emotions I simply couldn’t pretend to understand, I’m no mother and I’ve never been put in a situation where I need to kill a member of my family, I can only hope she has the will and resolve to carry this through, if the worse option happens and.. even if it were to alienate to rest of my friend, I want to support her.

‘’I’d like to go back as soon as possible; waiting means giving more teams for my fluffy liege to get mad but… Emeth has expressed some interest in the forest, would you like to accompany us on this short journey?’’

Sieglinde eyebrows shot up at my statement and veered her attention toward the golem who twitched under the intense gaze of the Lilim; I could practically see stars sparkles inside those golden irises while her smile changed in something goofier, with her tail waggling fast beside to emphasis her rather… intense approval.

‘’Some air would do us good’’
‘’Yes, some frigid air and snow, let’s go right now!’’
‘’Sieglinde you don’t have anything warm…’’
‘’That doesn’t matter mom, let’s go, I just need my dolls and that’s it!’’
‘’You expect me to allow you outside in just these tight garbs of yours? Do you even have proper boots?’’
‘’Mom, come on! Do you know how much I’ve been interested in that golem? She actually –want- something of her own!’’
‘’Well, about that she asked for a gift earlier today…’’
‘’What!?’’

I could see tears sparkles inside Sieglinde big eyes, hands balled in fist while her entire body trembled in excitement, she jumped to her feet, making the poor overexcited metal dolls fall from her belly then pointed at me and Emeth who jumped again, startled by the sudden intensity of that redhead who, I just realized, was actually taller than I was, long feminine legs shaped perfectly – just like you’d expect of a succubus – gave me a seriously wrong impression of her overall stature, she’s certainly overwhelming for someone described as ‘’extremely lazy’’ by her mother.

‘’Get your asses out there right now!’’

These two haven’t seen each other for more than thirty years and, despite this harsh discussion I could nearly see the warm love they had for one another; it’s a strange impression, really, but it was very easy to see that their relationship as mother and daughter also seemed to be mixed with friendship – a startling similarity to Tsukiyomi and Ame-no-Uzume duality.

--

As we made our way outside, Sieglinde stopped momentarily on the turn leading to the laboratory, asking us about the circle and, giving our ignorance, she proceed to brief us while walking circle around Emeth, her tiny dolls kept clutching at her shoulders, holding on for dear life.

‘’I’ve deduced that’s it’s something akin to an outside upgrade, a pure magical manifestation of a golem programming that can also turn into raw fuel in time of needs. I haven’t ran through the entirety of the notes of this place yet and they’ve kept everything related to that thing a secret anyway so I had to inspect that thing for answers, which obviously didn’t give me much outside« dangerous, pricy research that may or may not be related to golems» I’d really like to know what the hell they were doing in here, it doesn’t look ethical anyway’’
>>
>>32808759
Whether I want them maimed or dead is irrelevant to whether they should be on the team most likely to face Orion, or that events should be engineered so that the likelihood of Orion facing a specific team is increased.
>>
While tempting to use this time to upgrade Emeth I opted for prudence; Siegfried actually lived here as a child with his mother, the two of them will be in a much, much better position to make an informed decision rather than my hopeful stumbling. I don’t know why Emeth seemed to be so attached to me right now, the girl was holding my hand, interlocking her fingers with mine, walking a little ahead of me without a care in the world, but I won’t be rejecting her innocent affection – or requests -.

--

‘’Grmm… dammit it’s cold’’

Fumes escaped the Lilim mouth while her construct kept on crackling, oftentimes jolting themselves with electricity (I tried my best to avoid jumping each time) as we made our way deeper inside the snowy forest of the college, the ever increasing sea of trees quickly obfuscated the oaken mansion, making our surrounding a contrasts of naked trees and varying level of snow.

At first I had no idea where Emeth was leading us but after a few minutes of this pace I was finally struck by déjà vue, only a light amount of snow seemed to have fallen between today and our last visit for traces of my, Siegfried and Sylphis progress was still visible… but then, Emeth completely circumvented my expectation and veered to the East and now what must have been a good twenty minutes elapse in silence until Sieglinde plaint.
Daiyu had the presence of mind to carry one of the many blankets she had in the room and soundlessly put it around the redhead shoulders, making her dolls slide in her hands while murmuring a brief «thank mom».

‘’Emeth…?’’

The golem hand left mine as she took off on her own, walking faster in front of us as the sea of trees was diminishing into a visible, large clearing; I decided to quickly take off after her as she started a jog, barely minding the obstruction of snow, our course carried a concert of crunches and stomps as the two demons made a quick race behind me. This girl has always been sharp to respond to her name, now with this blatant ignoring I simply decided to follow in silence while ignoring the slight dulls in my limbs thank to all this damn cold.

It was only when she reached the very center of the circle that she stopped – then fell immediately on her knees- clutching her hands on her bosom in some faux prayer, burying her legs in the snow. I was quickly joined by the demons family, Sieglinde just about ready to protest but she wisely shut up as she witnessed Emeth painful expression and…

We waited.
Waited.
And waited.

I was expecting something, anything to pop up but Emeth seems to have grown ice-like.

‘’S-Sieglinde…?’’

Despite my best effort the cold made my voice stutter; the rest of my quest died in my throat before leaving my mouth as I rubbed my arm on my belly, but then quickly decided to approach the golem; there wasn’t any struggling on her part, thankfully but she kept her eyes closed, only when my hand found the top of her head in a few gentle pat did she open her eyes again, peering into the frigid distance with dull, red square while clutching at her heart.

‘’Imprinted memories. She led us in this place but never came here before, right?’’

Sieglind asked, frowning and I simply nodded, finding it hard to talk; it wasn’t the cold, while hard to deal with I felt a strange constriction in my chest, some kind of midway between painful and annoying right above my stomach. I tried to contend myself by rubbing Emeth curly hair.

‘’That’s the most telltale symptom of injected souls; you people went and used that stone I see… how old is she?’’

‘’Close to two weeks…’’

The Lilim bit down on the flesh of her fist, whispering a «that’s impossible» but quickly interjected, stepping closer to me while Daiyu kept her distance; a warm, motherly affection was visible in her lukewarm eyes, but she had obviously no idea what to do.

‘’She hasn’t gone berserk even once?’’

‘’No’’

I preferred the leave the fact that she was a motherboard for golem out of the equations, the redhead went to scratch behind her hair while trying to puzzle it all together but Emeth, however, interrupted our spiels.

‘’Athenaaa’’

Her voice came in a whispering plaint, as if meant for my ears only, her second hand crawled toward my pants and grasped it lightly, tugging on the fabric as she looked up in a mixture of distress and confusion.

‘’Who am I?’’

>>
Sieglinde jaw was agape as she stared at Emeth; I felt myself tremble slightly but I held down the chattering out of pride, the girl was looking up in confused distress, for once emotions look clear and simple, even her eyes possessed a brilliant, teary shine reminiscent of, quite simply, humane emotional outburst. Again, the strange uncomfortable tug In my chest kept on; the runes on her body were alight with renewed energy, perhaps being this close to her peculiar brand of magic was unhealthy…?
‘’Emeth, that’d be something that Siegfried and Tsukiyomi could answer better than I can’’

I ignored the reproachful «tsk» of Sieglinde; it was probably defeatism to say that; it was also undeniable that this mentioned duo knew her better than I ever could, yet… Emeth shook her head, even adding a cute little «Nnn» as if the word couldn’t leave her mouth.

‘’Athena is Athena. You have the most courage, your honest too… you know… who I am, right?’’

To be complimented by such a pure, frank girl left me speechless; I could only breath doubly through my mouth for a moment, which inevitably reinforced Emeth insecurity as she spoke slowly «Right?» she added, looking up, cradling my pants, searching the lightest bit of confirmation in my face. I swallowed down my hesitation; it’d be insulting to ask myself why she’s placing so much value in my dumb, useless, armless self, beside I’ve got a little audience to impress.

This I crouched down on her level, keeping my hand on her head, this time to pat her scalp and hair gently while smiling as gently as I could while tugging her leg with my tail, she was quick to squeeze its scaled tip, sending an inevitable electric sensation up my spine.

‘’To me, you are Emeth. My cute, adorable, courageous, loyal golem friend; someone who asked me for a little gift I was more than happy to give, someone I’d be more than ready to give my life to if it means protecting you’’
>>
I’ve never fancied myself a speaker, nor was I lucky to possess charisma like Siegfried, Ame and Tsukiyomi; even so I saw her face shine with the hint of a smile as she squeezed harder on my tail, forcing me to bite down my following grunt.
‘’I…didn’t die here?’’
‘’No, you didn’t. You never died, Emeth’’
--
It took a few minutes for the girl to settle down and I never left her side, kept on rubbing and petting her incessantly even as my feet grew dulls by the cold, it took an interruption to break me of my reverie; I kept associated Emeth with that time I first encountered Sylphis, part of me already accepted and adopted her as another little sister.

‘’Once we know what the hell that symbols does, you’ll have to come back; I think she’s about ready to –truly- become whole’’
Sieglind and Daiyu came to our level side by side; the Lilim crouched in front of Emeth and boldly reached for her head; I half-expected the brunette to karate-chop the Lilim wrist but it landed on her scalp without interruption.

‘’Nice and smooth…’’

She observed before breaking in a tender smile.

‘’So, I’m cordially invited to Zipangu I hope?’’

‘’You’ll have to stay in line’’

Daiyu was quick to interject, but I turned to the redhead and nodded, feeling increasingly sleepy by the cold.

‘’That mess with your sister is a big, big concern for the security of my country, but it’s also a very personal family matter; as long as you understand what’s at stake…then I’ll help you.’’

‘’Athena…’’

Maybe I’m just too soft a person, I just can’t help but empathise with such an earnest mother; sure she fucked up real bad, so did I and the only closure to my sins was getting my arm chopped off while being poisoned just before the most honorable of tradition for my people… I don’ think I’ll ever forgive them for that, even if it’s hypocritical.

‘’Good!’’

Sieglinde clapped her hand together and rose up to her feet… then crouched down again to catch her electric dolls that fell in the snow.

‘’Just to be sure, I’m going to be here for this finale with the golem; kick me out after, I don’t mind but I –HAVE- to see how this ends’’

‘’Sieglinde…’’

Her mother’s voice came out in a dangerous growl, which was met in a frustrating huff as her dear, dear eldest child seemed very much overjoyed by Emeth apparent emotional growth.

‘’I guess it’s time to get chewed out by the fluffs…’’

Even so I was thoroughly satisfied; payback for Siegfried little stunt with the church felt good, real good. I wonder what my hubby is thinking right now…

‘’Hehehehe.’’

Another golem nut fawning over Emeth just like Ithel, I guess she is what amounts to the holy grail of golem engineering so I suppose I shouldn't be all that surprised.

And yes, all help is good help. Another powerful magic user who has the added benefit of potentially speeding our ascent up the tech tree and being a hard counter to anything related to blood magic.

Good to see that, if worse comes to worse our hot succubi at the very least won't get in our way. That's all I wanted out of Daiyu and now Sieglinde from the start. They don't have to like the fact we're going to utterly destroy Deruella, they don't have to fight her (though I hope they do help us out), but they better not try to stop us if they can't convince her to see reason.
>>
>>32811957
>she’s not going to be easy living but all help is good
The instant she arrives, she's being put to work.
We need a prosthetic arm for Athena, rooting out Deruella's agent, interrogating the werewolf, golem army upgrades, and that alchemical gun put together and a better design for mass production created.
That has to be done in two days, then we need to make sure that Orion goes to where we want him to be, rather than messing up our plans to stop the Crusader reinforcements or the Crusader's main push.
And we'll need Sieglinde to be with the team that goes after the holy nuke anyway, since she's supposed to be the best alchemist around and we need someone who can disarm the nuke before Orion detonates it or the nuke itself decides to go off.
She had better be doing all of that rather than going around and pissing people off.
>>
>>32812187
>our hot succubi at the very least won't get in our way.
They will get in our way until after they've talked with her, which will likely mean that she'll get away. When that happens, we had better prepare for the consequences.

Don't expect miracle in term of tech progression, Athena prosthetic is about the only reasonable thing yo ucan expect, the other would be Ithel and sieglind teaming up to change Emeth frame into a potential ''perfect combat'' mode if you so wish, going farther in the tech tree would require much, much more time.

Huh? I thought we were going to re-purpose the damn thing. Instead of being used to kill every monster in Zipangu, it will instead be teleported to the "thinnest" part of the swamp geographically and be used to blow a nice hole for settlement and ease of trade.

Now if it starts to go off or complications arise then she will be helpful in that situation, but I thought the end goal was to blow the damn thing in the most beneficial place it could be detonated. Making it the only time I can think of where a WMD actually benefited everyone in the world instead of brutally fucking everyone in a particular area and raising the suffering quotient of the world by a large amount.
>>
>>32812345
>going farther in the tech tree would require much, much more time.
We don't have time, we have two days.
We can leave sinking the Crusader reinforcements to the Gwyneth and Zipangu Navies while the Armies can handle the main Crusader army as it launches its own attack.
That way we can concentrate all of our Hero units, especially the two demons, on attacking the angels escorting nuke.
As stated before, we need to have the greatest concentration of force that we can to fight Orion successfully, and in order to ensure that said greatest concentration of force actually fights Orion, we need to go after something that Orion values enough that he would drop everything to protect. That thing is the nuke, since as long as he has that, he can win. Once he gets it into position, he can detonate it at will and will this war.
From a logical standpoint, the Crusader Army and naval reinforcements are irrelevant so long as the nuke can be put in position and used. So if a threat, a credible threat (one that could sweep away the defending angel cordon around the nuke), were to materialize against the nuke, Orion is most likely to personally handle that rather than going to help the two other hotspots.
>>
>>32812517

I'll leave proper update to strategise how we will fight, don't worry. this day and the next wil lbe importnat ti finalise everything before the last strike to knock out this war early, once were in...

It'd be NICE if we could repurpose the nuke or teleport it, but we have no idea how big it is, or if we can even teleport it.

To teleport it, at the very least we would need Tsu or Daiyu, as they're the only two who can do teleports on the fly.
And if we don't have Sieglinde right there, and something DOES go wrong, are we realistically going to have the opportunity/time to teleport to Sieglinde, grab her, and teleport back to the nuke, before it goes off?
Especially as Daiyu's teleports don't home in on a person, but a place, and there's still a margin of error in the radius where the teleport gate appears.

Finally, we've been told that the nuke is semi-sentient. A partially conscious bomb is a bomb that can decide to not cooperate with what you plan for it to do, especially if you're not the one who built it and who it obeys.
>>
>>32812620
>A partially conscious bomb is a bomb that can decide to not cooperate with what you plan for it to do
Which brings up the point of, how do push the bomb through a teleport gate (since teleportation requires circles or creates gates, and you can't just touch something and teleport it with you), how do you reassure the bomb that it should trust you, and how do you ask it to detonate?
Assuming, of course, that Daiyu or Tsu can create a gate that's big enough to get the bomb through.
>>
>>32812612
You seemed to expect us to spread our Hero units out.
Is that still part of our plan?
>>
>>32812820

You'll have t ospread them if you can't bring the yukionnas to soem form of understanding, these girls would be a MASSIVE help for the navy and army, allowing some concentration of heroes on your part.

But it's inevitable that you'll have to spread some character around. Our girls are tough, strong and competent; while the surgica lstrike on the nuke is the real win, others fronts still musn't collapse too fast.

But I'll elave the final descision do you guys, as always.

Siegfried will need to talk with Gil and Fendal to see what the yukionna want in exchange for staying in a kingdom among allies who can't protect them.

True enough, I do hope the bomb is deep down a nice person and would like to be something that helps literally everyone on the planet lead a better life. Trade builds civilization, trade helps people better their place in life. It also spreads culture, fueling the hopes and dreams of all the people and providing them with new stories that inspire them and lift up their spirits. All very good stuff one should aspire to bring into the world.

>>32812757
On lifting the bomb, Hero units. Kyorn and Haddy could probably lift it. Mutated, hulked out Daiyu could probably do it. And with a powerful magic user well, it's magic, ain't gotta explain shit giant force wave or something.

The other concerns are still quite valid. That bomb is figuratively keeping me up at night. So many variables and no real way to know how to deal with them.

>>32812975
You assume they'll find out. Nobody knows Daiyu walks amongst them, or at least if they do they ain't telling anyone because, well, if that gets out everyone is going to instantly surround her, throw her in a max security cell, and petition for her execution.

Let's hope Fendal's grudge isn't enough for her to fuck us over for no good reason.

>>
>>32813040
>Ya do realize he'll also bring a few buddies along for the ride right?
Of course. That's fucking obvious, especially since we need to beat up the nuke's defenders, and they're probably going to be some of his hand-picked best.
Why are you bringing up something that is so painfully obvious and is part of the reason why the our greatest concentration of force is required when facing Orion?
>>
>>32813065
Oh good. We'll get to convince the Yukionna's to stay before a great big reason for them to leave arrives.

>>32813040

Given the way Sieglinde goes around and instantly becomes confrontational at the slightest provocation? Unless we keep her confined to a lab (which she should be anyway because of our time limit and need to get so much done), she'll break Daiyu's cover pretty quick.
>>
>>32813040
>It also spreads culture
Oh, you really didn't think this through.

Spread culture, just like the Lilim's culture of hedonism and Corruption?
You're ignoring the fact that Orion is the one who built the nuke, and that he is the sole source of information about the world to the nuke's consciousness (assuming it's a consciousness and not some semi-sentient animal intelligence).

It would have been told of how the elves and dwarves were seduced by Corruption, how their civilizations were destroyed because they let certain ideas spread. Though they may have been vulnerable to them because of their own hedonism (assuming Orion told the true version of events in order to inoculate the nuke from someone trying to convince it that it was told lies), that doesn't mean that the spread of a "culture" didn't wipe them out.

And if it was told the propaganda version of events? Who are you to convince it otherwise? You're just a fallible human who is obviously gullible enough to believe the lies and half-truths of demons.

That happened because of corruption. Simply being exposed to a hedonistic culture wouldn't do much of anything except introduce a new perspective on your world.

Now if they managed to convince you corruption wasn't a bad thing and you let them do it well, that's you being stupid. Unfortunately I doubt they were given much choice in the matter, but if they were and they took the demons up on their offer willingly...

They consigned themselves to oblivion and both Daiyu and the demons escape a lot of the blame. IF they had a choice, that's the big one. I could actually see it happening. A few elves and dwarves becoming friends with a succubus, becoming convinced their worldview is correct, getting corrupted, then telling their friends how wonderful it is, and it all snowballing from there.

Even if >>32813348 is being a little harsh, they do have a point.

Keep in mind they're referring to what this sentient bomb has learned of the world through its creator, which just so happens to be Orion himself. If the guy really is of a gung-ho, "FUCK DEMONS" mentality, then it's a safe bet he's also instilled his beliefs in his own creation.
>>
>>32813619
The situation you described is the exact same as a lycanthropy outbreak, or an outbreak of a plague, or any number of scenarios where a small group (such as a terrorist cell or cult) releases a biological weapon and causes an epidemic. You're saying that the society had a choice, when it was a small group releasing a mind-altering compound that can be spread from person to person, which encourages the infected to go out and kidnap uninfected to further infect.
And you then go on to say that the group which supplied this, caused this to happen by encouraging the initial terrorists/cultists to go out and infect other people whether they wanted it or not, can escape much of the blame for causing this to happen.

We have no evidence the corrupted unwilling radiate the shit in an amount that's truly dangerous. People have been spending a lot of time around the fluffy tails, immensely powerful monsters, and nobody seems to have jumped on the rape train. Now it is emitted if they choose to use magic, but you can always clean up your own mess. Or avoid the puddle, if they're being inconsiderate of you and you aren't a holy mage.

If people got convinced and allowed themselves to be corrupted, then went out and convinced others to get corrupted as well, it's a very different situation. It'd be like if the zombies or werewolves could only bite you if you allowed them to bite you in the beginning. Somehow, more and more people get convinced *and willingly allow* themselves to be bit.

Now, once you've got like 50-60 percent of the people "infected" you could then begin your zombie/werewolf apocalypse. But if that 50-60 were dumb enough to actually *agree* to be bit well, it's a much more complicated situation. If your people hadn't been so fucking retarded the whole mess would have never happened.
>>
>>32813953
You're completely ignoring the whole 'kidnap uninfected, infect them against their will, rinse/repeat' which is not only the situation I laid out, but the whole basis of the MGE setting.

Why would convincing even be required, when Corruption can be hidden inside of foods, candies, and drinks, and distributed wholesale?
We even got told that small amounts of Corruption could be hidden in candies and sold without people detecting it unless they were actually looking.

And again, that's beside the old tried and true method of surreptitious kidnapping, corrupting, and having the newly corrupted help in kidnapping more, while keeping up a veneer of normality.

I'm just saying there are multiple ways the whole thing could have went down. In the scenario I'm imagining everything was done above board, up until the critical mass was reached. The demons could have not done any of that and still achieved the same end result simply by openly convincing people to let themselves be corrupted.

We don't what really happened, the only people that do know are Daiyu, Seiglinde, and our Mech. With the mech we now have the complete story if we choose to pursue it. I'd like to if we can get enough free time in story, would shed a lot of light on Daiyu's, the dwarf's, and our newly acquired lilim's characters.

So basically, it's almost exactly like the endgame Mass Effect 2 suicide mission.

I hope you're prepared to at least have the courtesy of giving everyone the rundown like that game did. What they excel at, what they really suck at so you at least have a vague idea of what you want to do with your team to ensure that, despite it all being rather suicidal, *everyone* lives through it.

I'm just comparing the two. There are multiple goals and it's implied we will have to split the party somehow just like Shepard did. This is also comparable to the last operation in Muv-Luv against Objective 1, the primary BETA hive.

The commanders had the same problem Shepard did, this was a suicidal last ditch effort to keep the BETA threat from becoming truly insurmountable. They had their commanders and "best" units and had to decide where they would be stationed and what they would be in charge of or counted on to accomplish. We will be doing the exact same thing.

All I ask is for a concise summary the devs of ME were kind enough to give everyone when making the selection of who was going to do what.

I need all usable people including the ones we don't normally interact with a lot like the Anubis, Gil, and Fendall. Elite troops like specialized divisions of the shining knights and Zipangu's army, specialized divisions of the army of Gwened (can't recall the name of Siggy's homeland off the top of me head so forgive me), the redcloaks, and the mantis order. Any and all relevant intel we have on the church forces would also be appreciated so it would all feel like we really are forming a full and complete battle strategy from all aspects.

You've got quite the job ahead of you my friend. I expect much of this upcoming final clash.

Yes it's a lot of homework, I know I'm asking a lot of you, but think of the payoff both for us players and for you the GM.

We will have made the entire battle plan in the most rational way we could hope too. From top to bottom, this would be "our" plan. Whether it succeeded or not would be essentially completely on us. That was our best shot, if it fails or we lose someone or even a few people it'd be on us.

And think of the satisfaction and/or suffering that would give the player base. For good or ill, it's all our fault and also our ultimate triumph if we get the best end where we both win and lose not one of our best people (i.e. waifus and "main" characters.

And about making an ultimate combat form for Emeth... It'd be remiss if we didn't give her some epic headgear. I'm thinking of a reference here...

Won't stop me from trying on this front. You have the opportunity to make something truly epic and memorable for everyone here if you put in the work for it and as a player it'd be unthinkable for me to not bring it to your attention and try to get you to do it.

We'd be making a complete and total battle plan from the ground up. It's successes and failures would be completely ours. We couldn't really blame you for anything you did because we wrote *ourselves* into that one!

I mean, imagine if you actually got to pick and choose everything that really mattered in relation to Operation Ouka. You know what the commanders are capable of, you know what your "best" people are capable of. It's on you, as the supreme allied commander, to make all the critical decisions that will either save humanity from the BETA threat, or condemn everyone to an even *worse* "The Day After".

Pressure? IMMENSE! The maximum a man can stand without going insane.

Satisfaction if you succeed? Total and Absolute. You fucking did it. You played a real part in saving the whole damn world!

Suffering if you fail? Infinite. You failed humanity and have doomed it to extinction at least on Earth. Better pray to God one of those colony ships find a habitable planet and the BETA don't ever find it, because now they know not to fuck around when it comes to humanity.

Quite, so I take it you'll want info on Gil, the Red Cloaks, Mantis, the three monster orders of Gwynedd, the Yukionnas (if they stick around), possible prominent commanders, troop’s capabilities, difference between human-monsters capabilities…

Just let me go sit down. All of it is also variable depending on the assets you keep/lose/add during those last two days, too.

>>32816677
And all usable intel we have on the church forces and their elites. Their numbers, capabilities we know of. Where our commanders expect the enemy troops to be deployed and in what number and formation/composition.

In short, everything that one would expect an actual real life General/Supreme Allied Commander like Douglas MacArthur or George S. Patton to have. To really put us in the shoes of a man making all the most important decisions with all the info we actually have.

Yes, that would just about give me one of the biggest nerdgasms to ever be experienced by nerdkind.

Damn right, once he's a fine metallic powder and the bomb is taken care of Lex, given his goals and that he's still the commander as we prevented his death, will immediately surrender or sue for peace as that's the last thing keeping him from doing so. Ending this war in our favor, which would basically be pissing on that bastard's ashes. It's what he fucking gets for wanting to commit genocide.

If it isn't necessary, if the enemy isn't dead set on doing the same to you no matter what to the last man standing on their side, you don't do it. Why? Because in any other situation, you're committing a horrendously terrible sin! You're being pure frickin' evil!

>>32817025
Once all relevant information is gathered into one place the planning for the operation doesn't take as long as you'd think. Especially if we're all aiming for the same goal, that is, ultimate best end where *everyone* lives. That is, all our major assets. We're going to lose troops, no possible way to avoid that. But if every "named" character makes it back in one piece then it's the ultimate success, a total and complete triumph.

And no matter how long it takes, the payoff will be worth it.

I think I know how to keep them already. Without Cahdla as an insurance policy they probably think they're going to get backstabbed at first opportunity because "the butcher" is the one sealing the alliance by marrying Ame. And Gil did let the purge happen so there's that.

Ergo, they don't trust them, at all. How to fix this? Simple, place them both under a geis wherein they cannot lie about their feelings for a set time period. Have one of the ice ladies do it if they can. Then tell them, tell them how they feel about all this, about this alliance, and how committed to making this alliance work.

That should be enough, I hope. Primary reason they'd want to back out is distrust, this murder fueling it even more. Just as planned by a certain lilim.
