You are Gertrude Pool, Sophomore Class President and new commander of Lafayette Girls Academy’s revived Tankery Team.

You and Griselda quickly stuff yourselves with the morning breakfast.

“Slow down,” says Dad as he reads the morning newspaper. “I don’t want to have perform no Heimlich maneuver.”

You quickly swallow down a mess of pancakes. “Relax, Dad! Besides, I have a big day today. I gotta oversee a show match today with a few of my crews. Fairless is going to be there, the Japanese are going to be there, the Juniors whom you haven’t met are going to be there too!” You smile at him. “You should come!”

“Ah, I would,” says Dad. “But, I’ve got work to do. You know? I’ll try to catch it if it’s on TV or the web, alright?”

You nod. “Alright, Dad.”

Dad says, “Speaking of which. Tomorrow’s Thanksgiving, Gertrude. Hope you haven’t forgotten. The Pulaskis are coming around.” You grin. That means Cousin Gordon is coming home. That ought to be some fun. “We’ll have a hell of a dinner, I guarantee it, Gertrude.”

With that, Nancy and Preston come down for breakfast. Preston yawns, then his eyes light up. “Ah, Mister Pool, your cooking again.”

“That’s right,” says Dad. “One of the benefits of having to raise two children on your own, is having to learn to cook to their satisfaction. Come on, eat.”

It’s a cold day today.

You stand in the buff as Griselda dresses you out for the day. “So,” says Griselda. “I did some research on Jo Ekins, turns out she’s a really good commander. Annandale High School has already won some matches with other schools in the Fairfax County region.”

You shrug as Griselda zips up your miniskirt. “Figures,” you say. “But I got hope for the girls.”

“If you say so,” says Griselda pulls up your stockings. “Tell you what, Gertrude. How about a bet?”

“A bet?”

Griselda grins. “If LGA loses, I get to be the Commander of LGA’s Tankery team when you graduate.”

You grin back, evilly. “And if I win?”

Griselda buttons up your jacket. “And if you win. I’ll tell you that you’re the best Commander that ever lived and that I shall have to pay for my own tank once I come aboard LGA next year.” She shrugs.

“Pfft,” you giggle. “Implying I’m not already the best.”

“So what do you say?” says Griselda.

Trude can't promise to make Griselda team overlord, but Trude could wash all 6 tanks, by herself if LGA loses.

>>
> You’re on

You poke her nose with a little boop. “You’re on,” you say.

Griselda tightens up your tie. “Fine with me!”

Suddenly, the room shakes a bit. You can hear the roar of a Wright Continental radial engine. How you know that, you don’t know, but it does herald the arrival of your M4A1E8 Sherman. You and Griselda happily run down the stairs, meeting with Nancy.

Nancy asks Preston, “Are you coming with us?”

“Actually,” says Dad. “Preston will be coming with me. He tells me he’s curious about his line of work. I might be able to put in a good word for him for some internship experience.”

Nancy frowns. “Awww…”

Preston smiles, patting Nancy’s head. “Don’t you worry, honey. I’ll catch the match soon as I can. Alright?”

You all exit the house to see Cupid the Sherman, with Lisa and Kitten poking their heads out of the hatches. Cupid is parked dangerously close to Dad’s car. Dad kisses you and Griselda goodbye, then he and Preston get in his car and drive off.

Lisa looks at you, smirking. “Hey girls. Ready to do some girly things?”

“I was born ready!” You look over at Griselda. “Griselda, take the loader position if you would be so kind?”

Griselda beams. “Really!?” She runs over to Cupid then jumps on. She clumsily holds onto the cast hull as she tries to climb aboard. After a minute, she finds her footing on the tracks, then climbs in through the loader’s hatch. “Ready to have it out!” she screams.

You smirk at Nancy. “She’s a natural.”

You both climb in and soon enough, Lisa starts Cupid forward.

Kitten has a map out as she talks to you in the turret. “The match is going to be centered at Lake Accotink, the Lake Braddock venue had to cancel. Because of the residential area, blanks are going to be loaded and laser tag systems are going to be attached to the guns.”

“Oh, I’ve heard of that!” says Griselda. “The laser tag systems calculate shell loaded, muzzle velocity, and penetration. They can even calculate the effective armor thickness, sloping, and other properties!”

Nancy asks, “Why isn’t that more prevalent in Tankery?”

“Because it’s expensive,” says Griselda. “And, relatively new. But I guarantee it’ll be a thing within a couple of decades or so. I hear Unlimited Tankery is already adopting it.”

>>32758377
I've figured up a new system for garnering CP.

CP will now be gathered based on how many crews there are on the team at current and how high their morale is.

Crews at above 80% Morale will generate 1 CP, with crews that are already loyal will generate another 1 CP. So crews which are of high morale and are loyal will generate 2 CP per training session.

Thusly, CP gain will be restricted to practice sessions. You can generate greater moreale for your crews by hanging out with them or fulfilling their loyalty Quests.

The system isn't perfect just yet, let me know later if there needs to be something changed.

> Converse Casually (Topic?)

You look down at Lisa. “Did you call Michelle and the others?”

“Yeah,” she says. “I figured they’d want to meet the great and powerful Jo Ekins.”

You nod. “Neat.” You look over at Griselda in the loader’s seat. “Say, it’s kind of weird not having Ramirez in the loader’s seat.”

“Huh?” Griselda looks at you, confused.

“I agree,” says Kitten. “She never says anything, but not having her around is just strange.”

“Guys, I’m right here!” says Griselda.

“She’s probably yucking it up in New York with family,” says Lisa. “I’d be too. If I were you, Boss, I’d cancel practice tomorrow. Nobody is going to show up on Thanksgiving.”

You nod. “I’ll think about it.”

Nancy says, “What if she’s infiltrating Konigsberg right now?”

“That’s crazy!” says Kitten. “That tanned latina would get picked out easier than a crab in a lobster pile.”

“Kitten’s right,” you say. “But, we’ve got a match on our hands soon.”

“You think the crews will sweep Annandale?” asks Lisa.

You huff. “They may be a landlubber school, but Ekins might be an otherwise formidable foe. We’ll see.”

“That’s implying that Ekins still actually does tanks,” says Lisa. “I mean, I know she sounds handicapped as fuck, but if I had my spine broken, tanks would be the last thing I’d do.”

Kitten shrugs. “Well, maybe she’s really passionate about the subject. Who knows? I mean, we don’t even know what kind of Shermans they have beyond Shermans. It could be a team of Fireflies for all we know.”

“Now you’re just exaggerating,” says you. “Really, I’m sure Fairless and Nezumi and Betty have it under control.”

“And I say I should be the leader!” says Nezumi. “I have the most experience out of all of you when it comes to Senshadou! I commanded the Panzer VIII Maus! I commanded a Konigstiger before that and a StuG III Ausfuhrung G before that!”

Assam nods. “Of course.”

Fairless glares at her, making the Japanese balk a little. “Just because you have experience doesn’t mean you have skill.”

“Y-Yes it does!” says Nezumi. She stomps the ground. For the match, the Japanese have broken out their old uniforms from their respective schools. Nezumi says, “I should be the one to lead.” Betty simply stands there, trying not to look important.

“You’re the most unbiased person here though,” says Claire. “I mean, it’s not like we’re riding on anything here. Just take it, Betty.”

Henrietta and Andrea say, “Betty Grable, STRONK!”

Claire glares at them. “How about you two shut the fuck-“

Nezumi looks at Betty, then looks over at Fairles. After a flinch from looking Fairless in the eye, Nezumi sighs. “Fine, Grable-senpai can do it.”

“Oh.” Betty looks concerned. “I suppose I’ll do my best then!”

You nod. “Regardless of who leads, this is about teamwork. Nezumi, you need to learn to work with others. Need I remind you how you lost out during your match with Ooarai?”

Nezumi sighs, defeated. “I’m still paying the repair costs…”

You nod. “Right. And Alisa, remember-“

“Please,” says Alisa. “I do. Just… okay, fine.”

“And Izumi.” You wag your finger at her. “Don’t do anything rash, I honestly don’t really know anything about you.”

Izumi shrugs. “Nobody does.”

Thusly, it’s time to wait. You look over to see the giant Konigstiger roll up. The Aces all dismount, ready and willing. “Yo, Gertrude,” says Kate. “Let’s hurry and get this over with.”

Wendy nods. “Yeah. I mean, I suppose it’ll be nice to see Ekins again but… um. Yeah.” You look over to see Michelle, hiding behind Joanna and Octavia.

“You guys excited to see Ekins again?” you say.

Kate shrugs. “Well, I suppose it’ll depend on how excited she is to see us.”

Wendy nods, crossing her arms. “Yeah. I’m not interested in more sob stories.” She looks over at Joanna and Octavia. “What about you guys?”

Octavia smiles. “I think you guys are overblowing this. If Ekins didn’t want to see us, she wouldn’t have set this match up. I think she’ll be happy to see us.”

Joanna shrugs. “We’ll see.”

You all look at Michelle. She looks around at you all, confused. “The hell are you guys looking at?”

Before you guys can say anything, you can hear them coming. The peaceful Lake Accotink is now about to be invaded by even more tanks. You can see them, a Sherman Firefly backed up by an M3 Stuart and a rusty looking M4 Sherman. They stop in front of your tanks, the M24 Chaffee, the Cromwell, and the T-34/85. The crews dismount.

All 8 crewmembers. Wow, that’s a lot less than you were expecting. They all look relatively diverse, but eight girls to three tanks. Huh. Two of them help out someone into a wheelchair.

Oh. That’s Ekins. Holy crip she’s a crapple. Ekins rolls up to you. “Hey,” she says simply.

The Aces look a bit awkward.

“Ah! Come on!” Ekins holds out her arms, grinning widely. “What’s with that? Hugs! It’s nice to see you guys again! It’s been too long!”

Octavia looks at the others with a, “I-told-you-so-fucking-rekt-bitch” face, then bends over and hugs Ekins. She says, “It’s good to see you, Jo.”

“Yeah, I know,” says Ekins. “But you don’t need legs to gun. I’ll admit, I have trouble with the M3 and its lack of a turret basket. When we get the money, we’re planning on upgrading it to either the M3A1 or just go straight to the M5.” She chuckles. “Besides! I’m not that crippled. I can walk, sort of. Where’s Michelle?”

“Hi,” says Ekins. “Ain’t I gonna get a hug?”

“Well-“ Michelle looks around, desperately. “I’m just… you know. Weird, and- stuff. Just- Um. Yeah.”

“Oh, I see what this is,” says Ekins. She grips her armrests, then wills herself to stand up, to the shock of everyone present.

“Hey!” you say. “You don’t need to-“

“It’s fine!” says Ekins. She stumbles right into Michelle, who catches her. “There! Hugs!”

Michelle looks like she wants to die. “Well… yeah. Hugs, Ekins. Can I put you back down?” Ekins nods, then Michelle helps her back into the wheelchair. “It’s been a while, huh?”

“Indeed, Michelle,” says Ekins. “Tell you something, I’m glad to see you doing Tankery again. I really am.” She grunts. “But, how about we get this show on the road? Judges will be by shortly.”

You nod. “Fine by me.”

“If they’re patient,” you say. “Yeah, I think we may have a chance.”

The flare shoots out, signaling the start of the match.

Everyone applauds as the big screen TV shows the teams moving out. So far, it seems that Betty is doing good work at keeping everyone organized in the thick forests of Lake Accotink. They’ve started on opposite sides of the lake, and are advancing on opposites sides as well. Won’t be long before an engagement happens.

The tanks also bear a square-ish transponder on the gun barrels, the laser tag system you reckon.

Griselda squeals happily. “Oh man! This is going to be great!” She chews on popcorn.

“Where’d you get that popcorn?” you ask.

Griselda shrugs. “I brought it. It’s cold but, eh. Want some?”

You shrug, taking a fistful and popping them into your mouth.

Soon, an engagement starts. The tank guns fire. Just puffs of smoke though. Shame really, but the state government does have to be concerned with tanks fighting each other near residential buildings. Lake Accotink in particular is almost surrounded on all sides by schools.

You hum a bit. This should be good.

The tanks fire at each other. The T-34 actually manages a lucky shot on the M4, knocking it out.

The other two tanks of Annandale retreat back into the woods. Everyone applauds LGA’s victory, cheering loudly.

You’re tugged on the sleeve. You look down to see a whole bunch of excited girls, of varying ages. “Are you Gertrude Pool?” they ask.

You nod, smiling. “That’s me!”

“Can we have your autograph!?” they ask. All twenty or thirty of them hold up their notepads or things to sign. One of them very worryingly DOESN’T have anything to sign on hand.

You hop down and start taking autographs. You sign your name as elegantly as possible. Those five years of learning cursive in Elementary school at the insistence of your teachers who say, “everyone will be expecting you to write in cursive!” is finally paying off.

That one girl leans in, exposing her neck. “Sign it!”

… You sigh. You smile and sign off on her neck. That could have been worse. She giggles with everyone else. You also take pictures with people too.

Lisa says, “How come you get to be the famous celebrity?”

“Because I’m likable, Lisa!” you say.

Finally though, you manage to get everyone squared away. You wave goodbye to them all.

Kate says, “I think those might’ve been West Springfield students on a field trip or something.”

“I don’t care,” you say. “I mean, whatever. I- I’m not signing anymore necks or anything below that anymore.” You smirk at Kitten. “Unless you want me to, Kitten.”

“Please, Trudy,” says Kitten. She flicks your forehead.

It seems the match has gone badly for Nezumi. Through some weird combination of errors and trying to pull a J-turn out of the forest, they ended up in the lake, which ended up drowning the engine and killing the poor T-34.

> KO: T-34/85 MODEL 1944 (COMP. SPEC.)

You sigh. Poor girls. The Cromwell and the Chaffee are steadily pursuing the remaining Annandale tanks though. And soon, an engagement in the woods occurs. The Chaffee takes a shit which cripples the tracks.

You say, “It could go either way at this point.”

The Cromwell backs up, barely avoiding a shot from the Firefly. The shot was meant for the Firefly, but according to the laser sensor, it bounces off of the turret side and ricochets into M3 Stuart, knocking it out.

> KO: M3 Stuart (COMP. SPEC.)
> KILL CREDITED TO: TEAM PINPRICK

You all cheer at that. “Get some!” yells Joanna.

The Cromwell fires again, missing the Firefly. It tries to back up even further, but rear ends a tree. The Sherman Firefly turns its gun, only to catch it on a nearby tree.

“Oh boy.” You cross your fingers.

The Cromwell turns away, only to hit another tree. The Sherman Firefly backs up, but a log falls into the tracks, they snap.

> MOBILITY KILL: M4A4 SHERMAN VC FIREFLY “Vic” (COMP. SPEC.)

The Cromwell turns its gun on the defenseless Sherman. The Firefly again tries turning the gun around.

They both fire.

“Well?” says Kitten.

“What happened!?” screams Griselda.

Both flags pop up, at the exact same time.

> Both tanks have eliminated each other. There is no victor, but there is no loser either!
> TIE GAME

“Wow,” you say.

“Wasn’t expecting that,” says Kate.

You meet your crews, all dirty and greased up from the fight. The Annandale team doesn’t look much better, but they’re at least a little more confident now that they’ve actually won something.

> + 5 MORALE TO TEAM PINPRICK, PURPLE HEART, AND STEEL

Ekins laughs. “That was great! Wasn’t it?” You nod, shaking her hand. “Your girls have fine talent. How about we talk over lunch?”

Nezumi sighs, sadly. “I… I made a grievous error in judgment.” You quirk your brow. “I tried to ford the lake!”

You blink. “You tried to ford Lake Accotink?”

Assam says, “You know what they say, you can always rely on Americans to do the right thing after they’ve tried everything else.”

“Sure, that sounds really nice, Ekins,” you say. “Will your parents mind?”

“Not at all,” says Ekins. “Water under the bridge, you know? Besides, got to get the stomach trained for Thanksgiving you know?”

You chuckle. “Oh, I sure do.” You look over at Michelle, who still looks a bit skeptical. “Come on, Michelle, lighten up!”

“I will!” she whines. “At some point.”

Regardless, lunch is over. The teams all shake hands. Most of the Annandale team hesitate when shaking hands with Fairless for obvious reasons. But they get it all out of the way with good sportsmanship in mind. The tanks are recovered relatively quickly as well.

Kitten says, “Welp, I’m headed home. What about you, Gertrude?”

“I’ll be at Ekins’ place. Nancy, would you mind getting stuff together for me? The Anzio match, my sister.”

Nancy nods, smiling. “With pleasure!”

You walk over to Bernadette and the Seniors as they load up into her car. You smile at Bernadette, “How was your first match?”

“Exciting, terrifying, exhilarating,” she says. “Strangely arousing,” she says further. She looks at you, adjusting her glasses. You giggle a bit at “arousing”, to which Fairless looks away.

Henrietta and Andrea yell, “Gaaaay!” Fairless rolls her eyes.

“Well, it happens to the best of us. You did good though, I’m proud of you,” you say. “Keep up the good work, and Happy Thanksgiving, alright?”

“Happy Thanksgiving,” they all say to you. Bernadette drives off.

You walk over to the Aces and Ekins as they all walk to Ekins car. “I’ll drive!” says Joanna. You look over at Wendy, Ekins, and Octavia. Shit, they’re about to yell Shotgun.

“Portable wheelchairs, huh?” says Joanna.

“Hey, they make me feel less crippled,” says Ekins.

Thusly, Joanna starts driving. Ekins directs Joanna to an address on Ravensworth near Annandale High School.

You look back. “So, Ekins. Hell of a match, yeah?”

Ekins nods, smiling. “It was. Poor Vic is going to need some repairs but I imagine we can get things in order in time for the Nationals. I mean unlike you, Gertrude, we don’t have a constant stream of money. Everyone around here is either middle class or immigrant FOBs. So there aren’t much cash to exploit like there may be on LGA.”

You pout. “Are you trying to guilt trip me?”

“Ah, heavens no!” says Ekins. “Maybe. Whatever, I apologize, it’s probably the last thing on your mind, wanting to donate to another team.”

You shrug. “I suppose.”

Kate says, “Vic really has trouble in tight quarters like that though, doesn’t he?”

“It’s the long barrel,” says Ekins. “Having things like that in tight woods like Accotink aren’t a great combination. It’s even worse in urban combat you know with the buildings? I fear I may have pulled a Kelly’s Heroes with that.”

You nod. “Of course. Still, was an exciting match.”

“Mhm!” Ekins nods. “Those tank crews of yours have potential in them.”

With that, you arrive at the rather humble home of Jo Ekins. You all exit and help Ekins into her wheelchair. She leads you all to the front door and welcomes you all in. “Mom! Dad! I’m home!” she yells.

Ekins’ mom and dad poke their head in. “Ah, Jo.” Ekins’ mom blinks. “… and Wendy, and Kate, and Joanna, and Octavia, and Michelle, and another girl we don’t know.”

You smile. “Gertrude Pool. It’s nice to meet you.”

Ekins’ dad smiles. “It’s been a while! We’re just about getting dinner ready. Feel free to make yourselves at home.”

Ekins smiles. “Come on, I’ll show you my room.” She wheels herself through the living room. You all enter into Ekins’ room, looking around.

… Jesus Christ, it looks almost exactly like Griselda’s. But instead of plushie tank shells, she has ACTUAL tank shells next to her bed. One of the 76mm 17 Pounder and another of the 88mm used for the Tiger.

You all sit around the table, happily eating up Ekins’ mom’s cooking. It’s a bit of roast chicken with some mashed potatoes and some salad on the side.

“You’ve got excellent taste, Miss Ekins,” you say.

Miss Ekins smiles. “Oh, it’s nothing, honest!”

Mister Ekins grins, then says, “If it was nothing, we’d be eating out. Stop being modest, honey.”

Jo Ekins says, “You know, I’ve been watching your matches really closely once I found out that Kate and her girls were on your team.”

“How’d you find out?” asks Joanna as she stuffs a chicken leg into her mouth.

“The Panzer IV at the William Adams match,” she says. “Perfectly executed Nishizumi Hook, I’ve only ever seen the Japanese Aces pull off something like that.”

You nod. “Yeah, saved our bacon.”

“And I hear talk that your next match is going to be Konigsberg. They’re a pretty big German school, the only German Academyship actually,” she says. “They scrapped the Bismarck a decade ago. German economy’s been going under these days.”

“Who’s in command?” you ask.

Ekins says, “Piper Blancbois. She’s apparently very good at what she does from what I hear. You know what would be funny, if she sent a spy to scout out your tanks.”

You laugh. “Ah, who’d want to spy on us? All they’d find is a bunch of girls trying their best not to be lesbians.”

Thought I'd post this for you guys.

Hard numbers on the T26E5 were abit hard to come by, had to refer to a number of sources and even then, couldn't find a number for the gun mantlet. The speed of the T26E5 is a rough estimate from calculations.

In simpler terms The M26 is closer to a Tiger while the jumbo has an armour profile more akin to that of a Tiger II.

The stock engine was never designed for such a load though, about 500HP compared to the 690HP of the Tiger I and II engines so I'm a little iffy on the Jumbo upgrade.

Kate stands up to go eavesdrop. “Anyway, she’s been slipping on her grades, and I’m kind of worried about that, considering she wants to go to LGA next year.”

Octavia nods. “Yeah. You get that air of invincibility when you’re on the last of your school. Eighth grade in particular is something to really ride through considering how crappy the rest of Middle School is.”

“I know,” you say. “Like, to hell with everything regarding Middle School. You know, when I developed really early as a kid. Apparently a lot of guys found me smoking hot, but they have no fucking clue how to talk to girls. I must have intimidated a lot of the nicer guys, but the rest who wanted to jump my bones were fucking retarded.”

“How so?” asks Octavia.

“Well, I was talking to one kid in English class with Kitten. This was a kid who ‘self-diagnosed’ himself with Aspergers and ADHD, essentially he justified himself being a complete jackass to others. And he says I have great tits. Fine, a little creeper but, fine. Then he asks me if he could touch them. I tell him no, he’s being a fucking idiot. Then after class, he grabs them anyway!”

Octavia whistles. “Yikes. What did you do?”

“I threw him out the window,” you say. “Simple.” Octavia looks shocked at that. “Don’t worry, it was the second floor window.”

Just pointing out my thoughts.

The armour is great if we can keep its front pointed towards the enemy. It will be a very silly one who will attempt to engage our heavy tanks head on directly if given a choice for a different tactic. Already for heavy tanks, the doctrine would be to flank and engage the weaker side armour that has not been reinforced. In such a situation, the lack of mobility will be a big issue.

“Hey, Ekins. Listen, back when I was just starting up the team, a very generous girl that I had a practice match with by the name of Ace Levy donated a large amount of money to me,” you say. “I can’t donate as much because I still have the tournament to think about, plus LGA’s still a bit broke, but I donated what I could. 5,000 Dollars.”

Ekins grins. “Really? Jeez, that’s so kind. We can’t accept something like that!”

“Too bad,” you say. “I insist. You’ll need something like that for when you bring your team up to spec.”

“Of course,” says Ekins. You all settle into the living room. “Wow, thank you, Gertrude. I see your reputation precedes you. Honestly, this is a good thing.”

You nod. “And hey, me and Wendy would be happy to help repair or restore your tanks.”

“No, no,” says Ekins. “I can’t ask you to do more, especially when Thanksgiving is coming. Gertrude, really. Thank you for this. We’ll do our best to make it count, okay?”

You smile. “You better!”

You receive a call.

I just imagine Ramirez and Yukari, (and whoever was with them) running away with the Lupan the III theme song in the background.

But you know what this means right?

Yukari might try and spy on our team. We must prep the hall monitors, and have our counter spy people (Lisa and Ramieriz) to deal with them
>>
>>32765808
In other hand, we got to see Bernadette gushing over vintage car, reconcile Michelle and Ekins and many other stuff.

I assume that by the Newsteam, our QM meant the Lafayette Runner girls.

You nod to Ekins and the Aces. “Thanks for the meal. Also, my Loader may have just cracked the mystery on Konigsberg,” you say.

Ekins says, “Well, let us know!”

“She’ll email me later,” you say. “Anyway, I got to go guys. Nice having dinner with you all!”

They all say good night to you. You quickly head out and meet with your Dad and Griselda.

“How were things?” you say as you sit in the backseat.

“Good!” says Dad. “What about you?”

“Well, I’m finding out a lot of things,” you say. “What about you, Griselda?”

“Can we have Nancy as a sister-in-law or something? She’s so cool!” she says. “Not that you’re worse than her, Gertrude. I just really like her!”

“Yeah, yeah,” you roll your eyes.

Dad says, “And hey, listen, Gertrude. I need you to help me prep things tomorrow for dinner. The Pulaskis are quite anal about things. We’re also having your mom’s side of the family come over for dinner as well.”

“Oh boy!” you say. “That means cousins Darrel and Darryl! And Aunt Wilma and Uncle Wilmer! Wow! Our extended family is bigger than I remembered.”

Dad says, “Well, if you’re not too busy. Can you do it?”

“Sure, Dad!” you say. “Sure.”

Griselda says, “We’ll do our best!”

You arrive back at home. You all walk in to see Nancy and Preston already dutifuly waxing the floors. “Careful!” says Nancy. “We’re-“

Griselda and Dad slip, falling on their asses.

“… waxing the floors,” says Nancy.

Dad laughs, holding his back. “Oh god! That could’ve killed me! Hahaha!”

“Sweet!” says Kitten.

Nancy smiles. “That’s amazing, and so brave of her!”

“Yeah,” you say. “Apparently she’s being chased now, but we’ll hear from her soon I hope.”

Kitten nods, walking in. “Great, we-“ She slips on the floor and lands on her face. “Ow…” She holds her forehead, it’s bruised.

“Oh, Kitten! I’m so sorry!” says Nancy. Preston crawls over, gently grabbing Kitten’s head. Nancy says, “We’re waxing the floors!”

Dad yells, “Learned that the hard way-“ There’s a sound of something falling over. “I’m okay!”

You kneel down. “You okay, Kitten?”

You kiss the bruise. “Mwah. She’s fine now. Get the hell up, you little baby.”

Kitten mockingly pouts at you as she stumbles to a stand. “But seriously,” she says. “This is a fucking hype train here. We’re close to understanding what makes Konigsberg tick.”

You nod. “Also, I had a hell of a day with the Aces too, and Ekins as well.”

Nancy gasps, smiling. “Is Michelle-?”

You nod, smiling warmly. “Ekins and Michelle exchanged some words. Then me and Michelle had words. We hugged it out. And from there, I think Michelle’s going to be alright!”

Nancy stands up. “Oh, that’s wonderful!” She slips on the wax. “Whoa!”

Preston says, “Nancy. I don’t mean to alarm you or anything, but what was the point in waxing the floors like this if we’re just going to-“ He slips, falling on his ass. “Darn it!”

You laugh. “You guys are just a comedy of errors-“ You slip forward, falling on your face.
