Time to see Master’s things! People might not know this but Master is a Movie Freak, she likes to collect all sorts of movies and used to watch it with you back when you lived in that cave.

Well most of them were soap operas (“Eww”) and these things with kids that had really big eyes, but you still liked them.

So what the best way to spend some down time than to watch some movies and eat some food!

Ignoring the idiot that doesn’t stop knocking the door, you reach for Master’s doorknob and turn it.

It’s locked.

“Gee, she really knows me.” It looks like Master knows you very well, she totally expected this. “I guess I have to open the door.”

Quickly you take a chair and peek through the peephole on the main door, it’s hard to look down but you see a short guy with green hair… wait a minute.

“It’s him!” It’s that punk who tried to pick a fight with you, Sonia’s brother and the son of the Pope, Eden. A part of you wants to open the door and punch him in the face for what he did yesterday, but that will make Master sad.

“Open up the door, No Star, I know fully well that you are here, so open the door. I wish to speak with you, so open this door right now!” Banging on the door harder than before, Eden shouts at you and now, you just don’t feel like talking to this guy.

Well you might as well open the door, you doubt this punk is looking for a fight, but it never hurts to be ready.

For a moment you consider taking a pan with you, but Master would kill you if you damaged her kitchenware, so if Eden gets too violent your fists will have to do.

As she shuffles her cards she chants, “The moment man devoured the fruit of knowledge, he sealed his fate…” She separates the twenty something cards in her decks around, as her magic makes them float around you, “Entrusting his future to the cards, man clings to a dim hope…”

The cards orbiting around you two in the air before landing on her outstretched palm, stacked neatly in a single deck. “Yes, the Arcana is the means by which all is reveled... child,no Kouga, take a card and define your past!”

“You could say that this card represents the point where a man finds his own answer to life.” That sounds quite deep, but what does this means for you?

“In your case it means the opposite. You are in disharmony with this world, unfulfilled and incomplete, I might hazard that current you were born incompatible with this world, or maybe we could say that you belong to an origin that no longer exists, an answer that was invalidated. Kouga, you lacked purpose and meaning in your life, and thus you aren’t able to truly understand the world around you and lack an answer to it.”

“Me too, I am glad that I got to meet you today, Kouga. I hope our fates cross in the future.” As the witch dismisses the boy, she draws the final card of her reading, the card that represents the challenges this boy will fate.

You want to try to play in the park for a moment, or maybe go and eat something… but right now neither of those options are good for you.

So you turn around and go back to the dark alley you just left and meet the Witch of Darkness again. Her face betrays nothing as you approach her again.

“Kouga-kun, I though we already finishing our reading for today, why are you back here?” Her voice was calm and gentle, but you weren’t sure how to answer her.

>Why did you come here?

No, actually you know the answer, but you don’t how to express it. All your life you had looked for someone who was like you, someone who understood what you felt.

Master was a nice woman, but she wasn’t like you, she could never understand the call of those dark waters like you could… like this woman could.

“Miss Witchy, you are like me right? You can use this?” You extend your right arm to the witch, holing out a single fighter at this woman. Concentrating your cosmos a small flame burns, a black flame that doesn’t belong in this world of light.

Silently, the witch takes a deep breath, and leans in, as her face nears your hand, as if she was inspecting the dark fire you just summoned. “Kouga, do you know what this dark fire really is?” You really feel something desperate in her voice, no, it's not only desperate.

At best you might describe it as hope.

She is desperate for this to be true, she wants for it to happen. Even if she had know about you for a long time, she had never hoped for you to be like this...

In a way this is the first time she has met someone she can consider like herself, besides her son and her brother, she had never met a fellow heir of true element.

In a way, it gave her hope, and that hope gave birth to something else.

There really was no need for you to answer her, but you just felt it was the best thing to do, to pointing at the flame with your other hand, you say, “Yeah, it the original one, right? The one that came before everything.”

In the start there was only this, and then the other elements came in a huge explosion and filled the world with the light we know today. That explosion was the Big Band, and is the source of the thing we call cosmos.

“I see, then Kouga, I have to ask you a question. Do you want to be my apprentice? I can teach you to understand that power you have, but only if you swear to become my student. If, won’t ask you to leave your current master, but I will ask you to become more than a mage. Kouga, do you want to become a witch?”

What? “I won’t ask you again, Kouga do you want me to teach you to use that right arm of yours?” The Witch leans in, and you feel the shadows of the alley grow and curve, as if they were going to devour you.

Learning to control your powers sounds nice, but Master always said that mages and witches were bad… do you really want to do this?

I, the Witch of Darkness, Medea, will ensure that you will truly learn to master this gift you were born with.” With gentle care, Miss. Medea took your right hand in hers and you felt a cosmos similar to yours flow near your skin.

“From now on Kouga, you are my apprentice, I hope you enjoy my teachings.” Miss. Medea’s smile was a bit strange, you felt you couldn’t read it, but even so, you were glad you had found someone who understood this.

Someone who could help you with your fate.

You leave the city tired after working out things with your new teacher, it wasn’t anything concrete but Miss Medea gave you a magic talisman that would communicate you with her, and she was going to work out the dates for your lessons later.

She said it wasn’t going to be easy, but you didn’t care, you just wanted to get his over with and learn more about that thing.

Master still away, apparently the Gold Saints are having an emergency council about something or another but you were too tired to really a care. As you reach the door to Master’s home you see a familiar figure.

She feels a bit different (tained?), her body looks a bit weaker and thinner, but to you she is someone you will never fail to recognize. A silver mask covers her face, but somehow you can tell she is smiling.

She is someone you have missed, your first friend, the alien Sonia. Still you silently walk up to her, until you stand before her, your eyes meeting where you think her eyes should be behind that mask. “It’s been a long time… I missed you”

She turns awkwardly as she raises a small white box in her hands, “Sorry about that, but I was… a bit sick. But I brought cake, so can you forgive me.” Her voice sounds a bit softer too, and you now wonder what happened when she went to talk to her father.

But right now you don’t care about that, you are just glad she is here, with you, “Well you promised to bring one, so I don’t have to forgive you.” Her being here was enough for you, you quickly run past her and open the door to Sensei’s house.

You motion to your friend to enter, “So here come inside, and share some of the cake with me. Then we can watch a movie and then eat some more cake when Sensei returns, then I might think to forgive you.”

“I see, then I hope you enjoy the cake then, I don’t want you to be angry with me.” Her tone is a bit light, and you feel she has many things to tell you, but well you feel the same.

“I hope so too! You also must eat some cake, you hear me! You promised okay!” With that your friend and you enter Master’s house and eat some cake, just like you two promised.

Some things are better late than never.

Next Time: The setting moves 6 years forward, now a considered a fully trained Saint, Kouga is dispatched along another Saint to Egypt, under the orders of the Sanctuary and the Pope Ludwig.

A cabal of rogue evil alchemists has taken over an ancient temple and are planning to revolt against the Sanctuary. Amidst them are Saints that are wearing Black Cloths? Unprepared for this Kouga has to team up with his partner to solve this case!

Thus begins the dangerous battle between the Saint of No Star vs Black Saints!
