Reclaiming might quest

Archive:
http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=Reclaiming%20Might

You have lost everything, but fractions of your former self are coming back to you. It is your right to rule this world and everything in it. Now you are weak, but your strength will return with your cruelty, and the world will be yours.

Goals:
>You need an army. Alone you stand little chance.
>You need information. You know too little about this world.

Notes:
I’m changing the “magic” that you absorb from people to “essence” to avoid confusion. When you gain enough essence you will convert it into a point of “insight” that you can spend.

I will try to write faster and have less delay between posts. I have pre-written dialogue so things will go faster. Also: less edge this time.

From the last thread, it seems that people want to focus first on magic and then biology. Magic will make you incredibly powerful, but it grants no power to anyone under you. Biology level 2+ can be used to modify your followers with as if they had biology at one level below yours. If you are going this route you will need humans for your armies.

Quest will start in 30 to 60 minutes.

I don't know if it was you, OP, but in the future, when archiving, just put the thread number in the title. The description is for what's actually happening in that thread.

You think about the men you killed as you sit in the grass. Their bodies were fragile and weak against your power. For the first time you begin to consider your own body. It is the same as theirs, muscle and flesh and nerve and bone. You think about your aching feet and you sun-burned skin. Could you be so easily destroyed as well? This is not how things are supposed to be. This is not how you remember yourself.

The realization slowly comes upon you. Your body is nothing more than a vessel. A machine. Billions of individual pieces all working together to survive and procreate.

You focus on your body, and you feel yourself start to change. The changes are slow, but there. Your sunburn begins to fade and the ache in your feet fades. Your muscles tense and swell. Your nerves grow and spread. You feel lighter and more balanced.

While focusing on your body you don’t notice the woman as she approaches with the horse. She seems startled at your appearance.

>Authority and power mean nothing without people to practice them on. You need an army at your command and people to rule over. You have walked about 20 miles away from where you started. Based on the sun’s position, you traveled west. The city at the base of the mountain was north of you, the small town was to the east of you, and the forest is visible to the south of you.

“Lead me to your people” you command her as you mount the horse.

“Yes lord” she responds, avoiding eye contact. She grabs the reins and begins lead you southeast.

>Let her walk while you ride. It will be night before you arrive.

“Stop” you command, “Get on the horse with me. I will not wait for you to walk to our destination”

This obviously makes her uncomfortable, but after hesitating she obeys. She awkwardly gets on the horse and attempts to keep herself from touching you as you ride. Despite her obvious discomfort she does not complain and sets the horse at a steady pace southeast.

She is shorter than you, enough so that you can see above her head. Her body is small but she is strong for a woman. She was probably stronger than you until a few minutes ago when your body began changing. She is tense as she rides, and she leans forward to avoid you.

After an hour of riding, she slows the horse to a walk and speaks to you.

“Lord, Camp is close.” She pauses awkwardly. “Our men only ride with women that they have… claimed. If they see me riding with you I will belong to you.”

The way she said “our men” show you that she understands fully you are not one of them. She seems to be recovering quickly from the shock, and realizes that you may not want to be so closely associated with her when you reach the camp.

>Have her stay on the horse

Hmm. While she is technically ours, I'd rather not give off that impression just yet.

>>

>Have her walk

She seems relieved as she gets off of the horse. She grabs the reins and leads the horse over a small hill. As you crest the hill you can see the first evidence of a camp made along the treeline of the forest ahead of you. it looks small from here but your eyes pick up more tents camouflaged and hidden further away in the trees. You approach at the woman's walking speed. The slow pace annoys you but you don't want to give away any information that you don't need to, and you do not know this tribe's customs regarding women and men. It's possible that "claiming" her might tie your status to hers in some way.

The camp is made of scattered tents. A few are outside the treeline while most are further in. Several small fires burn with food being cooked above them. Children run freely around and most of the occupants pay no attention to you. There seems to be about 20 different tents, with the largest and most ornate in the middle on the edge of the forest. You count about 70 horses in view although there are probably more hidden further in. As you approach the outermost ring of tents there seems to be a small commotion ahead and to your right

>>
"Stop" you tell the woman, and point to where you hear the noise coming from. You don't think she can hear it, but she begins leading you in that direction anyways.

As you move into the camp you notice that there are few people around. The few that you do see are ether old or children and nether seem to pay any attention to you. Most of the tents seem ether temporary or shoddily build. The animal skins that they are made of are dirty and worn, and a few glances show that the conditions inside the tents are not much better than outside. These people are on hard times.

You locate the cause of the noise to be a larger tent hidden behind the treeline. The tent is camouflaged with leaves and branches, and seems to be in better condition that most of the other tents. You dismount the horse about 30 feet from the tent and quietly approach what appears to be the front entrance of it. The woman follows close behind you, glancing around nervously. you smell at least ten different people, all nervous, and other smells you are unfamiliar with. You push aside the large branches that hide conceal the entrance of the tent and draw back the large flap of hide to view what is inside.

Staring back at you, in the process of arming themselves and in varying states of armored and undressed are about 12 men. They are obviously warriors from the way they carry themselves and how they are handling the weapons and armor. They did not notice you coming and were not expecting you to appear at their meager armory before they were ready to face you.
>(1/2)
>>
>>32716766
One of the men, half in his leather armor and carrying a short spear in his right hand with a leather shield only half-strapped to his left arm stands up straight and looks you in the eyes. his face is a mixture of embarrassment and anger. He then looks past your shoulder at the woman who followed you to the tent.

"Monifa! Who is this, and where is your father or brother?” he yells. You realized that you did not know her name. You did not need to know it, but now that there are several humans around you, being able to differentiate them is useful.

She locks eyes with him and plainly states, devoid of emotion: “They are dead, he killed them, and he is God.”

Their reactions of the group varies from complete confusion to anger, with the one who challenged her being the angriest.

>Both your body and magic are powerful, but you are greatly outnumbered. Death is a very real possibility. These men are not yet fully equipped.

We should try to keep as many as possible alive for now. But we also need to demonstrate our power.

>>
>>32716814
>>32716952
Agreed, lower the general air temperature as well for effect and maybe make the wind pick up.
>>
You speak to the group calmly while locking eyes with the man who named the woman that lead you here. "Drop you weapons and I will not harm you. I am here to lead you to victory. I demand an audience with your leaders."

Many of the men seem unsure what to do. This situation is not something that they have ever prepared for. A white man not only being led back to their hidden camp by one of their own women, but after killing the woman's family in front of her? Unbelievable.

The man with the spear acts first. As if ignoring your words he crouches down slightly before lunging at you with the spear aimed at your chest. you are not in a fighting stance and he intends to kill you before you can react. This warrior is fast, and a normal man would die with a spear through his heart, but you are no normal man.

bringing your right foot back for stability you easily grasp the spear with you hand just behind the steel tip. your firm grasp stops his thrust, and his momentum carries him forward as his hand slips down the haft. You bring your right hand forward, connect your open palm to his chest and use his forward momentum to push him down on his back.

He lands hard with his breath knocked from his lungs. It's over in an instant and many of the other men have yet to react. You still hold the spear out in front of you, and as you look at the other men in the room you ignite it, turning the wood to ash in seconds.
(1/2)
>>
>>32717165
The men are shocked at this display of magic. As the fear builds in their eyes you begin to cool the air inside the tent. because of the area the effect is slower than incinerating the spear handle but still only takes a few seconds. The men, shaken by your display of speed and power stand motionless, then glance around in fear as icicles form on the grass and walls inside the tent. You speak clearly and calmly.

"Any who challenge me again will suffer and die. Drop your weapons."

It takes several seconds, but in the face of your power the group slowly disarms themselves. The man who you threw to the ground is still there, frost forming on his hair and lips as he regains his breath. He is silent, glancing up at you in fear and then back at Monifa in bewilderment. Several more seconds later he speaks.

"yes...yes. I will take you. I will take you to the chiefs."

You step away from him and he slowly gets up, rubbing his skin for warmth. Like Monifa, he avoids your gaze and keeps a fair distance between you and him as he leads you to "the chiefs".

It is a large tent, also camouflaged by leaves and branches. The man you threw to the ground has a short argument with the two guards stationed at the entrance before they let him in. you wait at the entrance before he pushes the skins aside and beckons you in.
>(2/3, I lied)
>>
>>32717319
Monifa waits outside as you enter. You walk into the tent and your eyes adjust almost instantly to the dim light. The two elders are in the tent, along with their bodyguards and the man you threw down. The elders are sitting on the ground. Both are male, with one larger than the other. The large one has his face decorated in tattoos. The smaller one seems to be blind. There are six men wearing hardened leather armor and armed with short blades standing around the edges of the circular tent.

The six guards in the room grow nervous as you approach the two chiefs. You can smell their anxiety and stress in the air. When you get about halfway between them and the door the blind one begins to speak.

"my son tells me thing that I can not believe. He tells that you have created fire with out spark or stone, and that you have frozen the air in the middle of the day..."

"and that you have killed my brother and mislead my niece." the larger man interjects as you sit in front of them, anger obvious in his voice.

"Why are you hear? Your tricks have granted you an audience but your skin condemns your words as lies."

The guards in the room subtly shift their weight and change their grips on their weapons. A wrong answer here may be you last.

I am new, and My power is still growing, so I have chosen you and your people to grow alongside me. You stare into the eyes of the larger man as you heat the room. "I don't know what problem you have with my skin. My body does not define me, it is a vessel for my power". At the end of the sentence, the temperature in the room is almost unbearably hot. The guards show obvious discomfort and fear.

You stop heating the room and begin to cool it. You turn to the blind chief. "Your son spoke three truths and a lie. I turned his spear to ash in my hand, I bid the winter come visit his tent, and..." you turn your head to lock eyes with the larger chief as he stares at you with suspicion and continue "I killed your brother with the power of the storms. These things I can demonstrate. As to the fourth, the first three should prove to you that I am as I told your niece. I am young to this world, and my power is still growing, so I have chosen you and your people to grow alongside me. Skin is but a coat, easily tailored. The truth is that a god has come to your village - will you allow me to lead you to glory and victory, or will you spit in fortune's face?"

As you finish speaking the room reaches it's lowest temperature. Frost spreads along every surface as the water in the air desperately searches for something to hold to. The larger chief breaks your gaze and looks to the blind one to his left. Several seconds pass and the blind chief speaks.

"You have proven the truth of your words. We request that you leave us for the night, we must commune over the fate of our tribe. Lenka will lead you to your tent."

You stand and leave the tent. The man you threw to the ground, the one the blind chief called "lenka" is waiting for you. With little fanfare he leads you deeper into the forest to a moderately sized tent.

"This... is yours now" he says as he gestures toward the tent, the tone in his voice suggesting that "this" means more than just the tent. He walks away, leaving you there.

You realize that your body is tired. This sensation is new to you, but you do know how to remedy it.

Its dark in the tent, but you don’t need the light to see. Monifa is kneeling submissively in the center of the tent, fully nude. She seems relaxed, with her head bowed and her arms limp at her sides. She kneels with her knees slightly wider than her shoulders, showing you every part of her. The way she is kneeling shows off the muscles in her hips and thighs. Her skin has been washed, oiled and perfumed. Her breasts larger than you remember due to no longer being bound to her chest. She says nothing as you enter.

You step into the tent. "Why are you here?" you say to her.

She lifts her head slightly and after several seconds responds. "You killed my father in battle. All that was his is now yours." She pauses for several more seconds before lowering her head again and resuming, less sure of herself now. "You bested many of the others. In the past warriors as powerful have demanded tribute of the tribe. You could have others if you wished..."

"And if I don't claim you? If I make you leave?" you ask, with a slight edge in your voice.

Fear begins to show in her scent. "All that was my fathers is now yours...women can not own...I will have nothing...I..." she stops. She doesn't appear to understand why you wouldn't "claim" her, and the prospect of you making her leave greatly scares her.

She can stay and warm our bed, but procreation is somewhere way off in the far future.
>>
I'll clarify a few things that should be obvious to the MC but I may have failed to communicate.

First: In this culture, women are basically property ether owned by their fathers or husbands. The only reason that Monifa was out with her father and brother scouting instead of staying at the camp is because the tribe is running out of warriors and the practical need for capable fighters overrides tradition. You killed Monifa's father, and now "own" her as well as any property he had in the eyes of the tribe. If you don't claim her as yours in the property sense, she will basically be thrown out and considered garbage by the tribe. The tribe also expects any man who "owns" a woman who isn't his daughter to give her the dick.

Second: I tried to hint at this in the OP with the " Now you are weak, but your strength will return with your cruelty, and the world will be yours." sentence but I think I was too vague. The best ways to gain essence are being evil. Torture, Rape, Murder, burning down the orphanage...things like that. I want to make this quest different than other "become king and rule" quests and I hadn't really heard of any genuinely evil MCs before so I went with that. If this bothers people we can talk about it later.
>>

You can smell the fear coming from her body. You imagine what would happen to her if you made her leave. Tempting, but you have other desires. You disrobe and slowly walk up to her. When you get close you go to one knee in front of her, reaching your right hand out and grasping her neck right below the jaw.

Her mouth opens slightly to say something but you silence her with a kiss. Her lips have been smeared with berries. She trembles but doesn’t pull away as she trades one type of fear for another. As you kiss her your other hand traces her skin down her body to between her legs. When your fingers reach her vulva she moans into your mouth and thrusts her hips forward into your hand. You break off the kiss as you fingers easily slide into her. She moans louder and rolls her hips into your hand as she rhythmically squeezes your fingers. Her eyes are almost closed, her head tilts back and her breathing becomes shallow and fast. As the contractions around your fingers grow stronger you begin pull them out of her. She clenches hard and sighs her displeasure as they slowly slide out. You remove your hand and grab her hips as you kneel with your legs between hers. Her hands reach for your shoulders as you easily lift her body up and hold her with her slit aligned above your cock. You show a slight grin as you stare into her eyes, waiting.

“Please. Anything.” She whispers between breaths. “Please”.

You drop her on to your cock. Her face freezes in a silent scream as you hit her cervix. You move one hand from her hip to her breast and squeeze as it fills your hand. The other arm wraps around her waist and you begin to slowly lift her up off of your cock. Her expression changes to relief as you feel the pressure on the tip of you cock lessen.

Adding on to my prior statement, I'm all for going all out if its a prisoner of war or something, but she isn't really resisting us.
>>
>>32719151
“Thank y…” she begins to whisper but is cut off as you drop her back down. Again her face is frozen in shock and pain. You wrap both arms around her waist and begin to lift her and drop her rhythmically as your hips thrust into her. Her vagina tightly squeezes your cock each time you lift her up in a futile attempt to hold you inside of her. Her arms reach around behind you and she digs her nails into your skin in rhythm with your thrusting. She begins to emit a low moan with every thrust as her eyes lose focus.

You feel your scrotum begin to tighten as you thrust into her. Not wanting to be through with her yet you pause. Still kneeling you lean her back until her shoulders are on the ground with her hips in your lap and your penis still inside of her. You move your hands from her hips to her nipples, rolling each one between your thumbs and fingers. She moans loudly as she pushes her body up with her hands and begins rolling her hips in your lap. You feel her thighs tense on top of yours and her vagina clenches around your cock. Her face is almost blank, her eyes slightly open as she breaths heavily through her mouth.

Right then you begin to notice something. You expand your focus and sense the little points of essence all around you. You can feel every person in the entire camp. Some are sleeping, others are copulating and a few are awake and on watch. Your focus turns to Monifa in front of you. Her body burns brightly compared to the others. It wasn't there before but now she has more essence in her than the rest of the camp combined.

She continues moaning as she rolls and thrusts her hips on your lap.

As you roll her nipples in your fingers you concentrate on her body. Fragile flesh and bone. You grin as you begin to burn her. You trace lines along her skin with heat, boiling the tissue and killing the skin. You cool the skin on the edge of the burns, cutting precise lines of an intricate pattern all over her body. Her entire body tenses as she begins to scream. You continue, holding her shoulders off of the floor with her nipples and feeling the essence flow from her body to yours. She cums around your cock and screams louder and louder until her lungs are dry of air. As you devour the essence from her body you cum, her vagina clenching your cock harder than before. Your scrotum contracts again and again as you fill her with your semen. At last, you are as drained as she is, and you drop her body to the ground before coming to rest on top of her.

You stand up, feeling refreshed and strong. You begin to appreciate how far you have come from when you first woke up in the field. Your body is far stronger than it was before, and you have practiced using your considerable magical power to both kill, disable, and impress.

You decided to find Monifa. You wonder what happened to her after last night. You realize that there is a chance that she died, but you consider it unlikely. As you leave your tent an older woman comes to you.

She speaks to you, avoiding eye contact while gesturing to different parts of the camp. "Food Is waiting for you if you wish for it. I'll have the girls bring your belongings to your tent while you eat. The chiefs have said that they will send for you soon when they are ready"

"Where is Monifa?" you ask.

The old woman hesitates before answering you. "She is in the healers tent. The girls brought her there last night after you..." she doesn't finish the sentence, letting it hang in the air. You realize that most of the camp must have heard the screaming you forced from Monifa last night.

You walk to the healers tent. There is a guard in front, but he doesn't challenge you as you push open the flap. Monifa is inside, laying on a bed of clean leaves and wrapped in what appears to be a combination of bandages and a grey mud like substance. There is another older woman in the tent. She is surrounded by several female children who are ether mixing the mud-like substance in small bowls or waiting on the older woman for instructions. She is startled as you enter, fear showing on her face.

You can hear Monifa's heartbeat coming from her chest, strong and even. She is definitely alive, but so much of her body is covered in the mud/cloth substance that it is hard to learn more. The smell of the mud is overpowering.

You look at the old woman. "Tell me, is she damaged?"

The old woman seems upset, but before she can answer you hear "NO" come from Monifa. The word was firm it was almost a yell. Monifa begins to sit up, causing the dried mud-like stuff on her body to crack and crumble off. The old woman reaches over to try to hold her down but Monifa shoves her off.

You watch as Monifa sits up, and begins to peel and scrape off the mud from her left arm. She commands one of the children to bring her water to clean herself off. The old woman was visibly upset before, but is now completely perturbed and refuses to look at ether you or Monifa. As the mud falls from her arm you begin to see the skin underneath.

Almost all of the women and even some of the young children that you have seen in the tribe showed some type of ritual scarification on their body. But they had nothing like what is now shown on Monifa's skin. An intricate winding pattern of scars winds and travels down her arm. She scrapes more of the mud off of her face and arm and you begin to see a type of pattern to the lines. The scars are slightly less than a half inch wide, and the edges are incredibly clean and straight. The lines wind over and along her arm in a intricate pattern, never repeating yet incredibly orderly. The child arrives with the water and monifa uses it to wash away the last of the mud from her arm, showing her dark skin clearly.

She smiles deeply as she looks at her arm, obviously very happy with what she sees. The old woman looks stunned as she also looks at the scars. The children and surprised and giggly about it, making loud noises and pointing.

Monifa streaches her arm to look at it, but the motion causes her to grimace in obvious pain. The old woman grabs her and gently lays her back down on the bed of leaves. You leave the tent.

Again your body feels a sensation you haven't felt before. Hunger. You realize you haven't eaten and the smell of cooking meat draws you to one of the small fires in the camp. There appears to be several small animals skewered on a stick held above the fire. Two children are taking turns rotating the skewer, one with much more enthusiasm that the other. They both back off a short distance as you approach, looking at you as they would look at a very strange but dangerous animal.

You reach out to the skewer, and cooling the air around you hand to protect it from the fire you tear off one of the small animals. "rabbit" you think it is called, but you can't be sure as a lot of things look alike when skinned. A quick burst of heat finishes cooking the rabbit and you set about eating it as you sit down. You see several people staring at you as you eat. You probably aren't going about it in the correct way but you don't care. The meat is moist and delicious. You demand water from one of the children, and he runs off to fetch you a jug made from some type of large seed or plant. The water is cool and refreshing.

As you stand up you hear Lenka approach you from behind.

"The chiefs want to speak to you" he says.

You follow him back to the large tent and he beckons you inside. As you enter you notice that there are no guards inside the tent this time. Just the two chiefs sitting and a flat wooden board laying between them on the ground with various papers on it.

The larger chief beckons you closer. as the blind one speaks to you. "we have decided that you are truth, and that we shall follow you to victory." he says in a loud voice, possibly for the benefit of people outside the tent. He continues on, quieter. "however, you come to use during harsh times. two winters ago we numbered over five hundred warriors strong, but the other tribes joined each other against us and pushed us north through the forest with treachery and deceit."

The larger chief steps in. "We now have fewer than 100 warriors, and even then there are over 15 women among them. Many of our strongest families have fallen. There is little game in the forest or north in the plains, and disease has claimed many of us."

He trails off and the blind chief continues. "there is a town to the north east of us along, just outside of the trees. It is a resting point for caravans that travel through the forest and head over the mountains. They have medicine, weapons, tools, and food, but they also have soldiers and scouts. were were planning on reserving our strength to attack at first snowfall, as we will not survive another winter and death in battle with a slim chance at redemption is preferable to an icy death."

>the town is home to about 300 people, and about 400 soldiers. There are watch towers around it's perimeter but there is no wall. Convoys use the town as a resting point before traveling through the forest or to the city against the mountains to the north.

>>32720501
we obviously need to use stealth and subterfuge to do this. our horsemen will get slaughtered if outnumbered 4 to 2 on city streets. night raid? do we need to capture the town or just capture supplies?
>>
>>32720501
We should probably sneak into the town at night or when it's dark, and raid the barracks first. We need to catch the enemy off guard as they have superior numbers.

>>32720561
Dude, even if he railroaded so the fuck what? Get over it.
>>
>>32720648
>>Does the town send out patrols?
Rarely. They depend on the four watchtowers on the outskirts of town. The land is flat near the town and it is difficult to approach without being seen.

>>How frequent are the caravans? (Don't want to have guards in town if we can help it)
About every 3 days. They will have more soldiers with them but they will also have more supplies if a caravan is in town.

>>Are the soldiers professionals, or militia?
Professional. They are kept here by the king. This little town doubles as an military outpost for the plains between the forest to the south and the mountains to the north.
>>
>>32720561
Then just accept waiting till the end of the quest, when OP has said he'll discuss it, instead of accusing him of dodging. I just don't think it was that big of a vote, the choice picked goes with the general tone of the quest better.

>>32720501
We could have a few of our men carry reed screens and ride as as arrow screens while the others ride behind and pepper the town with arrows. Any pockets of hard resistance that don't melt under the hail, we can literally melt under some hail.
>>
>>32720658
Hmmm, that's not a bad idea. We could summon a fog bank to disguise/muffle approach and send in a couple small bands of tribesmen to start slitting throats.

When the alarm gets raised,we can have our horsemen charge passes through town cutting down sleepy troops and villagers while we respond to any tough spots ourselves.

I can't wait to get us some prisoners.
>>
Oh fuck: one very important thing I failed to mention:

Instead of bows or crossbows, the soldiers have primitive firearms. Something like this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hand_cannon. About 50 of the 400 soldiers are dedicated "cannoneers".
>>
>>32720501

We can likely cow this town into submission as well with some displays of our power. Nothing like conjuring a massive wall of fire or frying people with a storm of lightning out of nowhere to make them weigh their options.

I don't know what the extent of our power is though. If we can do it, I would suggest something dramatic, like creating a fire that encircles the town and then calling down a lightning storm that strikes several buildings. Let that go on for an hour or so, then send in a representative to demand their surrender.

If that's beyond us, then we have more subtle ways of undermining them - destroy some their watchtowers to blind them to the upcoming attack. Then, just a bit before the attack starts, set several of their buildings on fire on the opposite side of town to distract them while our warriors ride in to attack. They can run off when the defenses start to get organized if we haven't gained a large enough advantage, and then we can attack again later with similar tactics (distract/disorganize them first, attack, fall back when they regroup).
>>
>>32720764
use flame/fire/heat skill as a mirage and sneak in and execute gunpowder plot
>>
>>32720764
Then rain and fog, to wet the wicks on the guns.

Send in some small fire elementals with instructions to hit their armory (boom) and sow general chaos while we make our attack.
>>
>>32720819
This guys right
If we can make it rain those things will be useless.
>>
So what I'm getting is:

Stealth + night attack. approach with army, not solo. use fog/smoke to cover approach. go for barracks/sleeping soldiers first, kill as many soldiers as possible then use a little fire elemental to blow their powder reserves when the alarm is raised? Commence battle?

Keep in mind that your skin is white, and so is the people in the town. if you approached by yourself on a horse they would let you in without too many questions. It carries more personal risk but you would be able to sabotage the enemy from within.

>>32720867
I really need to clarify our powers. You can't make it rain, but you can cool the air to condense water in it. Actual "rain" would require a very large volume of air and take a long time, but given a day it's doable. It would probably be much easier to just freeze the powder in the guns but that requires precision and focus, not something you can do when there are 5 people aim at your head.
>>
>>32720936
Ok, so we're limited more by size and less by line of sight. Then yeah just freeze the powder when the canoneers come out, keep some minions around as meatshields if they aim at us.
>>
>>32720936
Alright, small addendum to plan.

>Enter town as a weary traveler from (ask nomads if they know of any city names).
>Scope out town, find barrack/armory.
>Take day for preparation of rain/fog
>After rain/fog starts, summon small elemental that night and send to armory and barracks (Boom) - starting fires in town.
>On explosion, horsemen begin night assault using blow-up as signal.
>On alarm, real battle begins.
>>
>>32721133
So we'd basically use the chaos from the fires, as people and soldiers start doing bucket brigade and rescue, as an additional layer of confusion once the fight starts.
>>
>>32721133
I like this
>>
I actually think I might finish this thread here. I will need some prep time to do this battle justice, and there are some big decisions coming up so I don't want to fuck it up.

So here is the current battle plan:
>Approach with your horsemen close behind during the night
>Use fog to cover your advance, silently kill the sentries in the towers
>Locate the barracks and kill as many soldiers as possible before they can organize any resistance
>Use your cooling power to disable any firearms you come across.
>Locate their powder reserves with a fire elemental and blow them up when an alarm is raised.
>Have your soldiers ride through town cutting down anyone who goes outside until you have control of the town.
>Have a small band of archers on the outskirts of the town to make sure no-one escapes.
>Take captives when possible.

Is this about right? any changes?

>>32721133

Ok guys, Thanks for coming. Next quest will start next wendesday about an hour after this one started today. I'll stick around to talk to people and answer questions if anyone has any, and to talk to the "railroading!" guy if he is still here.

>>32721379

>>
>>32721379

What are the chances that we will have a chance to harvest enough essence for another insight point in the coming battle/aftermath?
>>
>>32721379
Magic 3 sounds great, especially if we want to convince these 3000 people.
>>
>>32721428
Probably really good. Over 200 people dying will probably give you a point for sure. You might get another if you let your forces rape and pillage the town. The more suffering and pain caused the better.

>>32721452
The level 3 abilities are really powerful and definitely worth it. Magic 3 lets you fly, shoot frozen shards of air, blend peoples brains inside their skull, tear people limb from limb and other imaginative stuff. That's just the telekinetic stuff too, the illusions can be really interesting.

The issue with magic is that it only makes you powerful. Your tribe will still just be a tribe. Biology 2 will let you start modifying your allies a bit, basically allowing you to give some of them a weaker version of biology 1 themselves.
>>
>>32721419
You will OP, but you'll bring in others so it's not a big sacrifice. I personally can't wait to start devising various torments we can use on our prisoners to gain their essence.

The writing's good though, both non-smut and smut. Once we get to conquering, I think we'll be able to offer you some creative options for both.

I'm voting to hold off till we can get Bio 2. That way we can Super Soldier our tribesmen and enhance our prisoners so that they can take more punishment. Plus being able to change our features will help infiltration later if we need it.

Wednesday is too far away, can't wait.
>>
>>32721516
I think we should get Level 3 Magic, and use it to harass the 3000 people village for more essence or just take them over completely as a bit more of a warlord god.
>>
>>32721516

We should at least save for Bio 2, I agree. If we can pull off 2 insight points, I'd prefer going for Magic 3 though. We need to be more godlike. Converts are better than dead enemies, and huge displays of personal power are much more impressive than a small warband of supersoldiers, I think.

Once we get a decent flock, then I agree we should be going for more ranks in Bio or Tech to let our followers do the work.
>>
>>32721579
We'd need 2 more insight I think, something we need to ransack AND rape the town for.
