Starting soon. Real soon.

How soon is soon?
>>

Now.

The world spins around you, the earth beneath your feet giving way to the sky above; the horizon crashing into the earth below. The rust of the ground blending seamlessly with the dark void of the night. Spinning, spinning, the two continue to mix, to battle. The two colors engage in a struggle of dominance, with both curling around the other, trying to bind their will into the other. Slowly, the rust gives way to black. It struggles at first, small splotches and swirls of the rustic red bubbling from the black surface, but eventually it all fades into nothingness. Slowly the void consumes the resisting party, until there is only one color left.

Why did it struggle so long? Grasp at the straws of its existence even though the battle was won from the first shot? Now all that remains is the void. No vestiges of… anything else remain.

Save you. You are still in this dreamscape, completely surrounded by the void of the mind. Why are you here, again? You keep coming back here, choosing to remain. You can end it, become one with it. Cease to struggle, end the chase here and now.

What will you do now, oh brave hero? What do you hope to accomplish?

“To create? You want to create? What are you capable of creating?” The voice is one and many. Echoes upon echoes form the vocalization of these words. It is a whisper in your ear, and the booming bellowing of a grandstanding leader. The noise you hear is every voice you have had the pleasure of hearing, and every scream that you’ve had the misfortune to observe.

You begin to answer, but feel you lips sealed shut. Try to open your mouth you might, but they’re sewn in place by a thin red fiber.
“And see what wonders I can create, hero.” The collective voice trails off near the end, leaving you alone in empty space.

A small white dot appears in the distance. Steadily, it grows brighter and brighter. The small point continues to shine, until it explodes. Or implodes. You can’t tell the cause, but you can see the result. Billions upon billions of other white dots, no, other bright lights extrude outwards from the first. Slowly the lights gain their own crescendo, their own unique shape, pattern, and glow.

You stare at this marvelous display unfolding in front of you. All of the moving, glimmering stars dance around you, swimming in a pool of nothingness.

It’s truly a sight to see, and never has the connection been this strong...

And then a red string connects two of the dancing spheres. And those two connect to another two. Rapidly, a red fiber bounces from celestial body to celestial body, tying them one by one with the same fiber, until the space is no longer so empty, so unbounded. They’re all connected with the same living bridge.

“What wonders we can create…” The voice interjects the majestic display, voice laden with disinterest.

It starts with a small pop. A sphere some immeasurable distance away from you explodes, releasing a sea of red outwards from its core. The red splotches hit other planets, and after a small amount of time, repeat the same action. The actions repeats unto itself, the plague spreading across space. One of the spheres doesn’t explode, however. The blue and green marble is brought in front of you, and grows until it reaches the size of your own head, rotating in front of you.

You want to stop it, you intend to stop it; but you can’t stop it. You don’t stop it. Fibers are sewn into your very being, fastening your arms to your body, and your legs together.

The planet is covered in a thin layer of red, and like the rest, explodes, sending a swath of red splotches to other waiting galaxies.
“Struggle. Go ahead.” The voice begins to take form, growing steadfast and… calm. A form appears before you, limb by limb. The figure wears a pure satin suit, pressed, neatly folded, and trimmed with gold in all the right places. It’s even emblazoned with a capital G on coat’s pocket. The pure black of the suit contrasts just right with the deep red of the undershirt and tie.

“I haven’t forgotten my place,” He speaks with known purpose. “And neither should you!” The last bit is said with malice, almost to a roar. The red splotches that were spreading across the planescape converge onto you; smothering you and slowly consuming your being. You can feel the pain.

You can even feel the pleasure.

You wake up, sweating heavily on your bed, fists clenched and grasping the hospital bed sheets. Your expression is pained, and definitely manic. The white rooms spins for a while as you readjust to reality. The low light of dawn is peeking through your window, welcoming you to a new day.

You quickly sit up from the bed, and move to the side next to the nightstand, reaching to pick up the landline’s receiver. As you touch the phone, the receiver shakes, accompanied by a ring. Slowly you lift the receiver from its mantle, and place it against your ear.

“Hello?” You say, still somewhat drowsy from your slumber.

“Good morning, sir. I apologize for the early call, but…”

You cut her off before she can finish her thought. “The dream, correct? Life fibers jumping from planet to planet, our mutual acquaintance...”

“Yes.” She responds, somewhat dissatisfied at not being able to relay her thought. Maybe just disappointed that you had the same vision?

“Do they know, sir? Or, is this just a reminder?”

You think over the dream again. You were unable to speak, and unable to act, but you certainly tried to prevent what occurred. You haven’t experienced something like this in months, and based on past experience, these dreams should only be a one way tunnel. However, overreacting to something that is just a dream could jeopardize the whole operation. But why the dream, and the context?

“There isn’t anything to worry about, Rei.” You start, calming yourself down from the initial clamor and worry. “It’s just a general warning. Ragyo failed, and this is attempt number two. If there wasn’t anything like this, I’d be more surprised.”

You hear a slight sigh of relief from the other side of the line, but you continue to mull the situation over, and continue. “But… what troubles me is that it’s going out this early. G visited a few days ago as well to ‘check-in’. I think there is suspicion, but I also believe that things are ahead of schedule.”

Hououmaru sounds somewhat frantic, but mostly maintains her businesslike demeanor. “We aren’t prepared for the first assault, yet. We can likely defeat it, but that would mean using-”

“I think it’s time to integrate Satsuki into the company.” You begin, sounding somewhat prideful, but a little uncertain as well. “I’d rather not have her involved directly, but at this point it’s crucial to get her prepared as quickly as possible, and this is the best way to do it.”

“Sir, may I play devil’s advocate for a moment?” Rei sheepishly asks.
“Of course.”

“I know Satsuki’s personality. She isn’t going to be satisfied with any offer that doesn’t include a position of real authority and power.”

“Which I’m prepared to give her.”

“… but she is also a master schemer. You can’t give her the ultimate position of power, as that one is yours, and she won’t be satisfied until she has either completely circumvented you internally, which will lead to internal strife, or completely shuts you out, likely ending in our own defeat.”

“Hmmmmm….” You ponder for a moment. Rei’s words have truth behind them. None of the actions taken by Satsuki so far have given you any inclination to trust her implicitly. “As well as her intentions are, you make a valid point. She will work toward our end goal, but she will likely go about it her own way, cleverly lying at key stages, holding back key information. Maybe even plotting to kill me…”

Silence. Just for a few moments, you hear nothing but silence as you reflect on Rei’s advice.

“We’ll talk things over at home.”

“You don’t mean…”

“Yes, the Kiryuin estate.”

More silence. This time from the other end. Is she simply stunned by the beauty of your plane, or does she disagree? You really do hope she isn’t being agreeable. It’s a good plan, and it’s truly a magnificent compound. Fine art, historical, and even a large bath house (rumored to be the largest in the country)!

She finally breaks the silence, and to your surprised dismay, sounds disgruntled. “Sir, I implore you, think this over.”

“Nope. My mind is made, my mind is made. It’s made up Rei! You don’t disagree, do you?” You ask with a little force. Just a tad.
Clearly taken aback, and finally thinking clearly, Rei answers. “N-no, sir. It’s a fine plan.”

“Great! Now, Satsuki doesn’t know you still… exist? Yes, exist! So you won’t be able to attend. And please make sure that only the bare minimum of staff is around.”

“Of course, sir. But can I just add one more thing?”

“Sure, Rei.”

“Don’t mention the bathhouse.”

“Why is that Rei?”

“Well…” Her tone is nervous and she knows she is treading thin ice. “You know what… well… what Lady Ragyo did to Nui?”

You get angry. Very angry. You see red. Nothing but red. Blood boils, and your body tenses all over.

But… she wouldn’t want that. No, she’d smile and ask what is wrong. God, that adorable smile. You miss it. You don’t get angry, you relax and calm down, leveling out your head for a moment of clarity.

“Rei, please don’t mention things like that.”

Apologetically, “I apologize sir, but it was-“

“But, you are correct. Going there might drudge something out of my mind at a time when I need to be perfectly diplomatic and in control. Thank you for the reminder, Rei.”

There is a moment of hesitation, as if she is about to speak, but she relents and plainly states, “My apologies again, sir. I’ll make the necessary staff arrangements at once, and begin drawing up the appropriate paperwork. Lady Satsuki typically visits around 11 AM, so I’ll have a limo ready to retrieve you and your sister from the hospital at that time. I hope your talks are conducive.”

“Thank you, Rei. But, I’ll need to trouble you with one more thing…”

“Well, I… currently don’t have any clothing.” You say somewhat embarrassed.

“Oh, the mansion has been fully refit according to your specifications, including-“

“No, no, no. I’m talking about getting there. I’m currently only wearing a hospital gown, and nothing else.”

“Oh, m-my apologies, sir.” Rei stammers a bit, somewhat flustered.

“So, can you have someone send over my favorite suit?”

“No.” She flatly says.

“What?”

“No.”

“Why not?”

“You’re the CEO of the world’s largest fashion and clothing company. And you want to wear THAT?”

“What’s wrong with-“

“It’s ugly, and in bad taste for the season. The color palate is bland, and only has one color, which conflicts with your skin tone and hair. It isn’t even a REVOCS product, and quite frankly it makes you look like a… well, it makes you horrible.”

You are somewhat taken aback. You’ve always tried to keep a less formal tone when talking with Rei, but this… this is just out of character for her. Then again you did argue for half an hour at NA regional HQ when picking out a suit to wear. Why does she hate your father’s old suit, anyway?

You weakly respond, “I have good fashion sense.”

“What?” Rei is now completely confused. She sounds stunned by your words, which are beyond her comprehension.

“My fashion sense is impeccable. And that suit is an icon of stunning beauty.” You respond more confidently this time.

You hear a slight snicker at the other end of the line. At first it’s muffled, but then it just grows louder and louder. She’s laughing at you!

You are slightly miffed, but you can convince her. After all, it’s the truth. “Stop laughing this instant! That suit is dapper and in style! It was featured in Paris just a few weeks ago.”

More laughter. What is her problem? The show was extremely successful, featuring the newest styles of bobbed-hair, bowler hats, and even something called Oxford bags. A lot of cool words were thrown around as well… bee’s knees, cat’s pajamas. They were all speaking so confidently, and that is what makes fashion!

“That was… oh, that was a retrospective showing, sir…” And she starts up again. “I was told it was ‘the cat’s meow’.” Uproarious laughter. You swear you can hear a fist banging against a desk.

“JUST SEND THE DAMN SUIT REI! AS YOUR BOSS, I ORDER YOU TO!” You shout, flustered beyond belief at this point.

“Ahahaahah, yes… yes sir… pfffffftttt hahahah”

You crash the receiver of the phone onto the holder, breaking the plastic mold, and irreparably damaging the phone.

“I have good fashion sense…”

It will be a few hours before your suit arrives, and as you’re barely covered by the hospital gown, it would behoove you to just stay in your room. As free as you are, in the end, you are still trapped in a small room. At least this one has a window. You walk over to the undamaged window, and open it, letting in the cool autumn breeze.

You look out and survey the city’s skyline. As devastated as the city was during Earth’s Hemorrhage, it is recovering to an extent. Ruined buildings dot the skyline, and for a capitol city, it certainly isn’t busy. Even now, you can smell the ruined buildings: a potent mix of concrete and iron. Reconstruction is abound in the inner city, but here in the outskirts, most of the infrastructure isn’t repaired.

You stand there for the next hour, simply leaning out the window, taking in the clashing sights of the bustling city in the distance, the recovering wards here, and the mountains in the distance, mostly unphased by the events of six months ago. Green giving way to red, brown, yellow, orange…

Why take such risk? You could simply go along with the plan, but yet, you feel compelled to rebel against it. It would be easier that way. But…

You see a pink car pull into the parking lot. It’s definitely an import from America, and the giant, Gamagoori, is driving it along with your sisters, the smartass Inumuta, and the small Nonon.

The giant exist the car, and immediately rushes over to the passenger door, opening it for your sister. The rest file out of the convertible, and begin to walk over to the entrance. You see Ryuuko arguing with Satsuki, one extremely vivid and energetic, the other reserved, and seemingly denying or dismissing whatever Ryuuko is suggesting.

Ryuuko looks up, and points you out excitedly, waving at you and smiling. You wave back, smiling the best you can in this situation. The others completely ignore you, Satsuki making special attention to avert your gaze, increasing her pace.

…but you have something to struggle for now. To die for now. You could live, but you don’t particularly want to live without purpose. And for years, your purpose has been for your sisters. Biding time, saving what grace you’ve been afforded. Why not include them? They’re the reason, they can also be the solution. They might not like the methods in the end, but the results are better than nothing. Well, nothingness.

That warning means they’re ahead of schedule, but it also means G doesn’t suspect you of sabotage. Or at least, he isn’t taking you as a serious threat. Maybe he is entertained by the whole thing? He’s always had a flavor for ludicrousness; always doing as he sees fit. Never wrong, never really right. He just is.

You hear the door’s feeble frame give way as Satsuki open the door, as regal as ever.

Staring out the window, you feel the chilling autumn air wrap around your body, prickling you all over, loosely tossing around your hospital gown.

Too loosely.

The gargantuan Gamagoori bellows with such intensity that the damaged room trembles to its very core, “KIRYUIN HINODE! COVER YOUR SHAME!”

“Nay!” You respond confidently, turning and facing them as the gown floats in the breeze. Gama’s hands cover your sisters’ faces, while his head bows down to avoid sight with you. Nonon shrieks, “NANI SORE!?” Before sticking her tongue out mockingly at you, and covering her eyes. And Inumuta seems completely unfazed; in fact he seems to be reaching for his smartphone.

You ball your fists, and place them on your hips, turning you head ever so slightly to the side. The sun falls on you from the window, illuminating your silhouette. You are the leader here; no one else! And you need to show it. You need to give a commanding presence if you’re giving a command speech.

You stand like that for a solid minute; Nonon peeks out from behind her hands once or twice to see if you’ve covered up. Gamagoori begins to speak, but you cut him off, raising your arm and pointing squarely at Satsuki.

Confidence flows through your voice, as you raise it and speak with the intent to convert. You are the prophet; the huddled masses must be enlightened. “What is clothing?” They all react poorly to your words, going from dazed and confused to predation. Satsuki remains motionless, simply resting her hands on the black blade piercing into the ground. Ryuko, confused by Gamagoori’s protective hand, shouts, “Oi! What’s going on…?” She places both her hands on the top of Gama’s wall-like hand, and pulls herself upwards to see just what is going on. An embarrassed gasp escapes her mouth and is accompanied by an intense blush, before she ducks back behind Gama’s hand. She does yell one last comment, though, as she heads for cover. “Why are you naked!”

You are unfazed, and completely absorbed by the moment, “It is man’s greatest conquest!”

They weren’t expecting that.

“Clothing is our cattle, and we are its shepherd! A mindless objects, bent on doing nothing but following instinct! Clothing is nothing without us, but a rag waving in the wind. We give it form, shape, and structure. We give it life!”

“Clothing is a tool! Those fibers have been with us since ancient times, and we have wielded them with all our might! We give no heed to the words of fools, too stubborn to refuse to use a lantern to light a dark hallway. Subjection of those inferior people, those who lack the Original Blood! We have always rules in one form or another, and the Kiryuin family is the grandest of them all!”

“And today, when the beast bites the hand that feeds, it expects us to not fight? To simply whimper and take the place of servant to a mindless master! Nay, we are the master, and the very hand that feeds can kill. By sword, by bullet; it matters not! The Others have fallen to the coos of our hound, and our mother led the way...”

Your lips curl upward, your nose flares. Eyes narrowing on the image of that woman. The one who betrayed generations past and present. Black teeth grit, and your eye’s glow even fiercer. Your tone takes a darker turn.

“Our name is not a curse as some have said; it is a blessing from kinsmen long past! We will win this war, this rebellion upon our rule. And they will be sorry to have ever crossed House Kiryuin.”

“Ryuko and Satsuki Kiryuin!” You lower you arm to your side, preparing to speak.

Gama’s large hands don’t budge; even with your speech he acts as their impenetrable shield. Their bodies are tense, and stand at attention, you can’t completely gauge their face. You continue, softening your tone, but still leaving enough bite to maintain authority. You speak as the concerned brother, not pleading, not insisting; just informing, warning.
“I expect great things from you. I hope you have the same expectation as me.”

Ryuko pulls herself above Gama’s hand once more, “What’s that supposed to mean, hu—AH!” She falls again for the safety of Gama’s visor like hand, yelling again, flustered, “WHY ARE YOU NUDE NOW?”

It’s true. The gown flew off half-way through the speech. But man shouldn’t be afraid of their own shadow. You stand proud and unapologetic in the face of those who would otherwise scoff at nudity. Clothing is a convenience; nothing more.

“Lower your hand, Gamagoori.” Satsuki coolly starts.

Gamagoori refuses and refutes, “Lady Satsuki, he’s—“

“Yes, I heard. I’ve seen worse sights, Gamagoori.”

He relents, and begins to lower his hand.

“Fine.” You say, relenting. You cover your naked body with the bed sheet, forming a makeshift toga out of it. Not exactly your style, but… Ryuko might appreciate you taking the billboard sized hint of clothing yourself. Wouldn’t want to scar Satsuki, either.

Gama’s hand rises above your sister’s head, slowly revealing a small smirk. You see the tip of Ryuko’s head turn towards her sister, and she then bounds over Gama’s still lowered hand, and starts shouting, “What the hell is with you!? It’s bad enough Nuuuuuuuuuuuuuuudistooo Beeeeeeeaaaccccccccchhhhhhhh” She draws out mockingly and strikes a strange pose… she’ obviously satirizing something? “Were a bunch of freaks! Now you, too!”

She then takes a moment to actually look at you, fully clothed. “Oh.” Deflated as she is, she still manages to fumble backwards into the crowd, mumbling under her breath, “… pervert.”

“High expectations? Saving the earth using only high-schoolers wasn’t enough?” You sister states, somewhat irritated, but also somewhat curious.

“Not when you only managed to shake the hornet’s nest.” Down-trodden at this point, she seems to be focusing in on some indirect slight that you really didn't mean.

She raises one of her bushy eyebrows, her voice growing somewhat angrier at the same time, all the while maintaining a ladylike air. “Don’t trivialize our efforts. We sacrificed much to accomplish our goals; and what have you done? Sat in a cage, dancing on the edge of sanity? Do you even realize what it took to keep Ragyo’s trust all those years? To build an army out of men barely able to drive?”

It hurts. A lot.

“We can finish this conversation at home, Satsuki.”

“Oh, now you want to visit the apartment I share with Ryuko?” Now she’s just being coy. Or she’s testing you. Frankly you don’t care at this point, and she is wearing your patience down to a single thread, ready to snap.

“You know what I mean, Satsuki.”

Her tone is now mocking you; why is she mocking you? “Ah, so the brother act falls apart quickly once challenged? Tell me, Hinode Kiryuin, heir to the Kiryuin name, President and CEO of REVOCS; where were you when poor Nui Harime died?”

You tense up; blood boiling over, spilling into the streets of your mind, drowning those reasonable thoughts, but allowing those manic obsessions to swim freely.

“I know where I was.” Cool as ever, but you can’t help but gleam some hint of satisfaction in her words. “Saving this world while she worked to destroy it, your little sister. Helping along dear mother. Do you want to know how she died, Hinode Kiryuin? Her final moments?”

“No.” You answer. Tears flowing freely know. Why is she bringing this up? You can’t take much more. You can’t. We can take it from here though. Or I can.

“No, no, no, no, no…” You trail off, grabbing hold of your head.

She slowly walks over to your side, standing tall and proud, like the lion approaching the wounded prey, licking her chomps, savoring the meal to come. She leans in close to your ear, and says with a triumphant low roar, “She cut off her own head to become a part of our mother’s dress; the ultimate submission to both clothing and Ragyo. She’s dead, Hinode. And you couldn’t save her. She didn’t even want to save herself. She smiled as she executed herself, freeing herself from a world with you in it.”

All you can see is red. All you can feel is red. Liquid gold by another color.

She is anything but a saint. She is anything but a devil. But she is our sister, and to her, we are, well... Whenever I post a song, especially if it has lyrics, I choose it carefully.

I'd refer you to this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fm72DPJCX58

Some songs I really hope I don't have to post. Some of them, I really hope I get to post. God help us if I have to post THAT.

Good ends are still available, even best end. Bad ends are still a plenty, though. Especially worst end.
>>
>>32682316
What's worst end? Is it going to be skeletons?
>>
>>32682566

WARNING! Spoiler below! Don't listen or look up the lyrics unless you can't wait! But you can wait. I believe in you.

God help us if I have to play it.

Really, do you want it?

Alright, then. I warned you. I hope you choose wisely next thread.
