This weekends DH game got cancelled due to real life problems, so I'm bored. Let's make a Dark Heresy xeno together, using the rules that came with the GM screen.

Let's begin with choosing if we want to make a Xenos Race (the creature is sentient and has a culture) or Indigen (the creature is basically a dumb animal, but also stronger and tougher).

First to three votes wins.
>>
>>32632301
Lets go for Xeno.
>>
A week ago, I made this same kind of thread and we made a race of hyperintelligent but tiny centipedes. Unfortunately, my internet provided decided to fuck me over, so I couldn't stay around and flesh it out. So sorry about that.
>>
>>32632306
Know what, let's just roll with a Xeno Race, and do an Indigen after that.
Roll 2d10+15 for Weapon Skill.
>>
Rolled 10, 3 + 15 = 28

>>32632748
Rolling.
>>
>>32632800
They're decent at close combat. About average, really.

Roll 2d10+15 for Ballistic Skill.
>>
Rolled 10, 9 + 15 = 34

>>32632862
Rolling for Ballistic.
>>
>>32632875
This race are excellent marksmen, with a natural talent for sharpshooting.
Roll 2d10+15 for strength.
>>
Rolled 1, 9 + 15 = 25

>>32632936
We're going to end up with Tau, aren't we.
>>
>>32632952
Let's hope not, but it looks like it so far. They're very average when it comes to muscle power.

Roll 2d10+15 for Thoughness.
>>
Rolled 5, 1 + 15 = 21

>>32633009
Here we go.
>>
>>32633093
These guys are pretty fragile!

Roll 2d10+15 for Agility
>>
a tau by another name are we
>>
>>32633093
confirmed for tau...
>>
Rolled 8, 10 + 15 = 33

>>32633166
Come on, Agility.

At least then we can be Eldar.
>>
>>32633175
Then we'll have to change it up a bit in the later stages. They could end up as psychic blobs or giant birds.
>>
>>32633202
Freaking ninjas, that's how agile they are.
Now on to the mental stuff.
Roll 2d10+20 for intelligence.
>>
Rolled 7, 3 + 15 = 25

>>32633245
Come on, smart dudes.
>>
>>32633259
It's plus 20 for the mental stats, not 15. So that's 30. Not that much, but they're not complete idiots.
Roll 2d10+20 for perception.
>>
Rolled 10, 2 + 20 = 32

>>32633315
Right, sorry.

Rolling.
>>
>>32633355
Their senses are okay. It would've been weird if they were terrible, for a shooty race.

Roll 2d10+20 for Willpower.
>>
Rolled 9, 8 + 20 = 37

>>32633315
>>
Rolled 7, 2 + 20 = 29

>>32633395
>>
Rolled 6, 7 + 20 = 33

>>32633395
If we rolled low perception, they'd just appear behind a dude with a shotgun. The sneakiest gits.
>>
>>32633397
They have balls of steel. It takes a lot to make them panic.
Roll 2d10+15 for fellowship. Note that it's 15 again.
>>
Rolled 2, 9 + 15 = 26

>>32633441
Here we go.
>>
>>32633453
Again, they're decent at getting along with each other.
Last characteristic:
1d10 + 5 for Wounds
>>
Rolled 6 + 5

>>32633501
Rolling.

So our guys are fast, agile and extremely good with guns, but are less tougher than a human.
>>
>>32633549
11 wounds.
Keep in mind that characteristics can easily change, especially if we change their size.
On that topic, roll 1d100 to determine roughly how their bodies are shaped.
>>
Rolled 50

>>32633591
FER TEH EMPRAH
>>
Rolled 67

>>32633591
Rolling.
>>
>>32633601
Animalistic, in this case meaning Quadruped. For a sentient creature such as this, this could mean they're kinda like centaurs with four legs and an extra pair of arms, or they have tech that let them shoot and stuff without hands. I vote for centaurs.
Roll 2d100 to see if they get the Sprint talent and the Sturdy trait.
>>
Rolled 82, 61 = 143

>>32633729
Here we go.
>>

111 KB JPG
>>32633729
>four legs and an extra pair of arms
This was the first thing that came to mind when I read that.
>>
>>32633771
Aw shit.
>>
>>32633741
They have neither.
Now? Decide what size they are. For some reason you can't roll on this table, so we're doing it manually.
The sizes are:
Miniscule (bugs)
Puny (rat, servo skull)
Weedy (human child, large dog)
Average (human adult, Eldar)
Hulking (ogryn, horse)
Enormous (Elephant, tyrannosaur)
Massive (Kaiju)

Generally, larger sizes will make them much stronger and tougher but easier to hit, and smaller sizes will make them weaker and squishier but harder to hit.

Roll 1d100 together with your choice, in the case of several answers the lowest roll wins.
>>
Rolled 13

>>32633894
Hulking, so 4 squares in size.
>>
Rolled 70

>>32633894
> Enormous (Elephant, tyrannosaur)
>>
Rolled 6

>>32633894
Time for KAIJU! Everyone loves a good monster to hunt/be hunted by.
>>
>>32634002
Shit, Kaiju it is.

Giant, four legged, gun wielding kaiju that move like ninjas.
>>
>>32634018
Brace yourselves, Imperium. When these things learn how to fly a spaceship, you're in trouble. They're going to grab onto your Titans and go for a ride.

#ImperialRim
>>
>>32634063
Considering how large these things are, they can serve as mobile weapon platforms.

Sorta like the Elcor, but with an additional pair of arms in front of them that they can use freely for more guns.
>>
>>32634110
Imagine a pack of these things just annhilating Imperial forces. A species where every GuardsThing is also comparable to a shieldless Warhound Titan.

>Imagine the Hive Mind redirecting a Hive Fleet for the sole purpose of consuming this species' homeworld, to gain their genetics for a new generation of Bio-Titans.
>>
Well, that's certainly terrifying. So roll 1d5, to see what it's fear rating it, since this thing is SCARY.

Rolled 4

>>32634198
RAWR

>>
>>32634167
If we want to go along with the stats, they'd be a bit thinner that your regular kaiju. Probably grew up on a planet with a weaker gravity than Earth, where they'd hide in the giant grass, trees miles high, and fighting other predators like it.

If they do go toe-to-toe with a titan, they slither and coil around it, and then try to crush them like a colossal Anaconda.
>>
>>32634229
Sounds like they'd have a hard time leaving their world then, if they grew up in such low gravity that being behemoths was possible.

Also, i thought they were centaurs, not snakes?
>>
>>32634207
Not too scary, all things considered. Due to it's huge size, it gets +30 WS, +20 S and +20 T. Roll 4d10 to see how many extra wounds.
>>

Only that they move on four legs, actually. We can have that and a giant snakelike tail, if they try to move upright in order to keep the balance.

Basically they look like xenomorph brood mothers, only with guns.

Transient Being. Yes, this is not just a huge, intelligent alien, it's also a freaking ghost that partly exists outside our reality, or as an energy gas or something. What the fuck.

Ghost titans. Damn, son.

Maybe that's how they can get so huge, even in any type of gravity you want, because the bulk of their mass is actually outside the universe? That'd be cool.

It could also be how they travel through space (each of them just sort of.... walks upside-left-red-down, and emerges on another world eventually?)

Also also, it's how they protect themselves from anything that they can't crush or shoot, they phase out and bide their time.
>>
Rolled 13

>>32634474
This thing's out of the webway.

>>32634533
Just imagine one of those materializing on top of your ship, ripping out its batteries and leaving it stranded in space.
That's where they get their weapons from - anything stolen from passing ships and cruisers, converted into guns.
>>
>>32634486
It's Incorporeal. It can't be hit by normal weapons, nor can it normally hit physical beings.

Last step: roll 1d100 for Distinctive Feature. Because being a giant ghost apparently isn't distinct enough.
>>
Rolled 70

>>32634568
RAWRAWR
>>
>>32634568
So right now we have literal intelligent ghost titants that just literally phase through anything in the physical world, are skilled in ranged combat and have ninja-tier agility?
>>
>>32634580
And to cap off this massive fuck you to the universe, it's also venomous. Nice. Compiling stats.
>>
>>32634607
It's a fucking energy being made from pure radiation and spacedust.
>>
>>32634564
They're probably fairly independently minded creatures, just because a well-socialized empire of these things would be absolute rape on legs.

Still, even a small band, or a mated pair, would be capable of kicking in the teeth of all but the heaviest Imperial forces. Not that they need to though, they all know perfectly well that they can just leave when they've got what they want.

If they want to get stuck in, sure, but they can pick and choose how they fight, in a way that most giant beasts can't.

And yeah, Lootan ship weapons seems Orky as fuck, and therefore I encourage this to be one of the ways in which they get their heavy arms.

>>32634607
Ninja-tier for a Kaiju. They're still not Eldar or anything, they're just not going to get stuck in the rubble they inevitably create like you might think they would, and they'll move a little faster than you'd anticipate.

>>32634612
>>32634634
I move that their "venom" is actually radiation leakage from whatever alternate dimension they shunt themselves/part of themselves into.

>immenfe Velpago

Captcha suggests they be named the Velpago.
>>
>>32634650
THE VERY BEST

Now we need some drawfags to draw us some giant abstract-looking dimensional shambler types.
>>
>>32634650
Is this a scenario where these things are a race?

Or is it just THE LAST OF ITS KIND?
>>
>>32634694
Well, the assumption is that they're a race, usually.

In this case, the gigantic boogeygiants that can clear a Sector of Imperial life in a couple years, if they've a mind to.
>>
>>32634680
They're not totally amorphous or anything, dude, and they have material bodies. They can just choose to shift into... somewhere else, if they want to or need to. They are beings of this world, with a foot in another, so to speak.
>>
Rolled 14

>>32634650
I... I actually think that wh40k is fucked.
These guys can rectify anyone except for some especially angry daemons.
>>
>>32634650
We can have their "real" bodies be incorporeal clouds of radiation, energy and dust. Floating in those clouds are guns, debris, smaller ships and whatever else they managed to find around. They charge those guns as if flexing a muscle, and fire them at whatever they want, wherever they want.

Basically their physical bodies are made of rocks and cannons. That's why their agility is ridiculous - it's a mess of moving parts and stones merged into one form and floating in space. Still not eldar level of agility because, if they want to move around, they have to be mindful of those bits and pieces. You blow them up, the incorporeal part floats back to wherever it came from and can try again later on.
>>
>>32634737
No shit. Where the fuck did I imply they are amorphous?

l think it's safe to say that this isn't a Tau anymore.

This was fun, want to do another? How about trying an Indigen this time, or do you want to keep doing Xeno Races?

Also feel free to flesh this thing out with skills, fluff etc if you want.
>>
>>32634741
Well, we could always give them the typical "apex predator" limitations.

I mentioned earlier that they might only move in small social groups, both for food management and because they compete with each other on occasion as well.

They could also be arrogant, not deigning to embrace the power of industry or collective labor.

They might not even see other races as meaningful, since they can so easily evade them if they need to, so they simply come and go as they please, leaving devastation in their wake if they've a mind, like an extradimensional hurricane.

You could also say that their reproduction rate is low, as is often the case with large beings.

>>32634780
"abstract-looking" isn't usually something one associates with a defined structure, bro.

>>32634766
