Exhausted from the climb up and down the hill, you finally made it to the market where Alouette was apparently on a date. The Sunday crowd was thick, the townsfolk happily bustling about their business while you conducted your search.
Through the crowd, you caught a glimpse of golden hair, and traced it to the source at an up-market cafe across the street from you.

At the table outside, under a cute parasol keeping them covered from the sun, Louie and Alouette sat together with a half-eaten sundae between them. They were paying the ice cream no attention, however, their focus too enraptured by the other, as their tongues danced in a passionate embrace.

The scene takes you by complete surprise. You never would've thought Louie and Alouette to be... actually, with this information everything adds up. Why Louie was siding with her now, why he was being all awkward around you. You smile to yourself, happy that he's managed to find a simple joy like this, though feeling a little bitter that he apparently didn't trust you enough to tell you himself.

>Interrupt their date? Tease them on how cute they are.
>Leave them to it? They're having fun, no need for business now.
>Watch them? You wonder what they're like together.

They break their kiss, and Louie murmurs something with a smile that makes Alouette giggle. She takes up her spoon and carefully feeds a mouthful to Louie. Aaw, you wish you had someone like that.

Shaking that thought from your head, you look away. No need to interrupt them with your business now, it's a Sunday after all. People aren't supposed to work on Sundays, it's a day of rest according to the Church. You guess you should be doing something fun, too, but you can't think of anything you'd be in the mood for right now.

You make haste back to the store to grab Charme, who's somewhat surprised at your return. "Hey, did ya not find the little princess?"

You nod your head in response, "I did. But there's a change of plan. Come on, we're going shopping!" Her surprise keeps her from protesting as you link arms with her and drag her out the store.
"Tear, are you okay to look after Euria?"

She sighs. "Of course, pay me no mind. I'll just be here, checking over our stock figures or something..."
You wave your thanks, then head out without another word.

After trudging your way all the way up the hill to the mansion again, you reach the main gate and ask the guard to call Prime. A short wait later, she flutters her way over to you looking mildly annoyed.
"What d'you want now?"

You smile warmly at her in response. "Well, since you've got nothing else to do with Alouette being on a date and all, I thought you'd like to spend some time with us instead?"

She raises an eyebrow, giving you an incredulous look. "And why the Hell would I wanna spend time with YOU?"

>>

"Because I'm adorable," you answer immediately, causing her to snerk. "Come on, it'll be fun. I'll buy you sweets, and it can't be any worse than hanging out with Alouette, right?"

She frowns at that. "Hey, watch what you say about my Mistress."

"I'm not saying anything bad," you riposte, "just that you could stand to take a break with some people who know how to have fun. Like us!" You beam at her, indicating Charme and yourself. Charme cracks an uncertain smile beside you, but doesn't protest.

The fairy still glowers a little, but seems to be considering the option. You press on with your final attack.
"You, you don't want to? D-do you hate me?" You blink twice as you switch on the water works, eyes tearing up in moments, already fit to bursting.

"Aaaah," she sighs in exasperation at you. "Don't do that. Fine, whatever. Let's go stupid shopping for stupid sweets." She gestures at the guard. "Oi, you. Open the gate, lemme out."

"Right away, Miss Prime."

"Yayifications!" You cry out in success before you can catch yourself. Prime gives you an odd look while Charme giggles merrily at your outburst.

Together, the three of you head back to the market place. You carefully avoid the street with the cafe hosting Alouette's date, looping the long way around to your own favorite joints.

"I wonder how Louie and Allouette met," you wonder aloud. Charme shrugs, but Prime looks over in thought.

"Louie? Ah, the seedy-lookin' Adventurer? Yeah, Mistress and me were chekin' out the Guild for new Adventurers, and he was lurking around lookin' all seedy-like. Alouette took a liking to him and offered to pay his fee for the Hall of Trials, in return for his first business card."
Something niggles in the back of your head, as if this were a thing someone other than Alouette should've done. You shrug it off.
Prime looks quizzically at you. "Why d'you ask? There something I should know about him?"

>Is there?

You're standing inside one of your favorite sweet shops now, with the display stand chock full of delicious treats. Neither of the other two girls have made a move, so it looks like you really are buying sweets for everyone.

"Hmm? Oh, no" you tell her, pointing out the strawberry shortcake to the baker and handing over 3,000Pix in change. He leans into the display to bring forth the delicious-looking cake and expertly slices it into three large portions for you. "Just that I know him, and I didn't expect Alouette of all people to be looking after that broke idiot. He's a good fighter, though. He won't let her down." You fight to keep the wistfulness from your voice as the baker hands you the cake slices.

One of them is significantly smaller, which he hands to Prime. The other two slices (near half a cake each!) go to you and Charme. She thanks you with a smile, while Prime just gives you a nod before tasting the creamy treat.
You, too, take a bite and savor the sweetness of the fresh strawberry resting in the cool cream atop the crunchy base.

With sweets acquired, you leave the sweet store and start searching for somewhere to sit.
"So what do you do for fun, Prime?" You ask the fairy beside you.

"Fun? Eh, don't really get many chances for "fun" when I'm lookin' after Mistress all the time. If I were still home, I might find myself a good man to flirt with, but I'm not home and there ain't any around here."

You frown at the sullenness of her answer. "Well, what do you want to do now?"

She shrugs, "not really thought about it." She glances over to Charme, as if looking for help. "What about you, Thief?"

"Me? Eeeh." She looks between you and Prime, before flashing a wolfish grin. "Not things that should be spoken about in certain company."

Prime laughs out loud at that, slapping her thigh as she floats along. "Ah, well you certainly have taste, I'll give you that much, Thief."

You look confused between the two. "Eh? What are we-"

"Nothing," they state in unison, effectively ending that line of conversation.

I don't know. In the video game they aren't really slaves. Tear describes a sort of fairy "union" (I forget the exact choice of word) that takes care of fairy interests and help them get jobs in human societies. What that turns to when you run it through kaleun's grimmoe filter I do not know.
>>

Apparently fairies were nearly genocided because humans thought they were devious tricksters. The ones we see are specialy raised to be able to interact with humans.

Fixing on something she mention, you ask Prime another question. "Have you been away from home for a long time, then? Couldn't you go back to visit sometime?"

She sighs a little, before answering. "It doesn't really work like that. We fairies, we get a job found for us by our elders and we get integrated into human society. And that's pretty much it, we stay here until the job, or our life, is over. Then we go back just long enough for someone to find a new job for us."

"Oh," you breath quietly, "so that's how you got the job with Alouette? You just got assigned here?"

"Pretty much," she confirms. "Her old man wanted someone to teach her the ways of money, and the job fell on me." She doesn't seem bitter about it, more just stating it like the fact it is.

You continue to wander through the busy streets, stopping at a few stalls and gazing longingly at the trinkets on offer at the jewelry stalls and at the sugary candies on the sweet stalls.
Prime turns her nose up at most of them, commenting on how Big Bash has cheaper stuff. Charme seems content to watch you gawp at the baubles, a small smile on her lips.

You try to appeal to her sense of decency. "Charme, please. We're in public!" You place your cake gently on the stall, before stepping out to face her down in the middle of the street, surrounded by the crowd on all sides. "Can't you wait to get home to be silly?" It's not until after you finish your plea that you remember she doesn't have one.

"Hnhnn," she grins at you, "nope. I'm overcome with desire and I must act on it now." Her fingers wiggle excitedly as they line up their attacks.

"W-w-wouldn't you like it more," you cry out quickly before she can finish her advance, "if we took our time at home, rather than going quickly now?"

"Ah." She stops dead in her tracks. "Uhm, Recette. You're ah, aware of just how that sounded right?"

"Eh?" You stop, thinking about your wording. You frown in concentration while you try to think what was wrong with it.
While you're distracted, Charme leaps forward and closes her arms about you.

The assault is fast and brutal, starting on your sides, but working quickly up to your armpits and as low as your hips, even daring to run as far as your inner thigh.

Charme tickles you for what feels like an eternity, a menacing grin stretching her features; while all you can do in response is thrash about, desperately trying to keep her from your most sensitive spots even as your body betrays you, laughing hysterically at the onslaught. It doesn't work, and she gives you thorough coverage. You try commanding her to stop. You try begging. You try decrying your eternal hatred and swearing vengeance. Even turning to begging the crowd for help.
But the traitorous folk who share your home city simply watch on in genuine amusement as you're mercilessly tickled in the middle of the market district.

Eventually, Charme lets you go. She drops you in a heap on the floor, her wheezing laughter coming rough between her gasps for breath.
You spend several moments simply lying motionless on the floor, feeling defiled and abused. After a while, Charme catches her breath and offers you a hand.
"Hey, you okay? Sorry, I might've taken that a bit far. Here, let me help you up."

>Let her help you up?
>Refuse, get up on your own?
>While she's vulnerable! Counterattack?

You reach up, as if to take the proffered hand. Once you're vertical, you choose your moment. "You will regret the life choices which led you to this moment," you inform her under your breath.

"Eh?"

And you pounce. Both hands find their mark before she has time to finish contemplating your words, and your bear down with the fury of an angered merchant. Charme topples backwards, an uncontrollable laugh already escaping her. You press on, slipping your fingers under her shirt and tickling her exposed flesh mercilessly. Unfortunately, she has a greater resilience to the torture method than you and somehow manages to push through to cross-counter you with a tickle-jab of her own.
You keep your composure this time, and manage to force her back onto the ground; until she tips her weight, rolling you onto the floor.

The battle rages on for many minutes, the two of your desperate to one-up the other. The conflict is only finally resolved when two members of the laughing crowd finally step forward and pull the two of you from each other. The moment you're upright, out of the fray, you look around and realize that the entire town just witnessed this scene.
Your face burns, you stare at your feet and desperately wish you were somewhere, ANYWHERE but here right now.

"Haha, haaa." Charme catches her breath, still grinning madly across the crowd circle from you. "That was... refreshing. We should do that again sometime."

The crowd begins dispersing, and you notice Prime hovering near the edge, as if trying to pretend she has nothing to do with this particular scene.

Refusing to lift your eyes, you shuffle around the edge of the crowd until they part to give you a passage out. You rush to the nearest alleyway, out of sight of the pressing crowd, trying your best not to cry from the humiliation. Charme hurries after you, while Prime flutters over at a more sedated pace.

"Aw come on, Recette. It wasn't that bad, was it?" You spin to face her, fury on your features.

Stomping your foot, you tell her exactly why it was that bad. "Everyone saw us! In the middle of the street! Me and you, just going at it like animals," you cry out. Now I'm ruined for marriage!"

"Uh, what? Ho- ruined for marriage?"

You pout as you make your point. "Who would marry a girl who makes such a fool of themselves like that in public?!"

"I would."

"Eh?" Her blunt answer takes you off-guard.

"I'm a free woman," she explains further. "Who cares what other people think? I'm going to marry whoever I want, regardless of what other may think of that person. It is my choice and none can take that from me now."

You fumble over yourself trying to formulate a response to that when Prime sighs in exasperation. "I thought we're supposed to be havin' fun? I didn't come here to watch you two get all lezzo for each other."

You flush bright red. "I- No- THAT'S NOT WHAT'S HAPPENING HERE!"

Right, right," you simmer for a few more moments but quickly cool off. "Yeah, let's forget this and go have more fun, okay?" You smile your forgiveness at Charme and walk out of the alleyway. Prime flutters ahead while Charme walks by your side.

Quietly bringing up something you noted, you face Charme as you walk. "Hey, you said it's your choice 'now', Charme? Weren't you always free?"

She looks away from you, refusing to meet your gaze for a long time. When she finally turns her face back, she looks straight forward, still refusing to look at you.
"It's not important now. But no, I didn't consider myself a free woman. Let's just leave it at that."

Prime suddenly bounces up and down excitedly. "Look, look! Over there! They're having a fighting match! We totes need to watch!" She looks eagerly to the two of you.

You follow her gaze, and spot the place she's talking about. It's the entrance to one of the local mafia dens. And they're advertising pit-fighting. Charme shrugs, "could be fun."
You relent, and lead the three of them inside. Inside, you reach for your coins to pay entry until you recognize the man at the desk as the one who tried to pick you up in the pub the other day.

"Good day, Miss Recette. Please, go on in. Free entry for you." You thank him and head on deeper into the den, finding yourself in a crowded room. In the center is a wooden pit, a dozen feet across. A gate at either end permits entry to the two fighters that are going in. From what you could see by the adverts, it seems the rules in here are minimal and it's basically just a case of two shirtless men beating on each other until one goes down. You're not exactly thrilled at the prospect, but Prime seems to be enraptured by the idea.

After a few more minutes, a suit walks into the center of the ring, makes a few quick announcements about betting pools, then introduces the two fighters for this next match. In the red corner, some dock worker. He's built like a brick outhouse, a six-foot tall meat monster.
Prime seems to be drooling a little as she admires his well-formed abs and broad shoulders.

You're not really sure what she sees in such a build. Personally, you're much more of a fan of the leaner, toned builds. Like the young man hopping through the other gate now. He peels his shirt off, revealing an average-sized body, but all of it is taught muscle. No unnecessary fat, strong but stream-lined limbs. Those are arms you wouldn't mind being-
Wait, don't you know that hair from somewhere? You push the man blocking your view out the way, just making out a voice from the other side of the ring: "for luck!" A familiar girl's voice.

Will Recette take advantage of this situation by betting for or against her former bodyguard?
Will Charme finally score with her crush, and will Prime be able to get off on two men beating each other half to death!?

I'm hoping we can step in, save him if he's in trouble, slap Alouette's shit, and make him realize the error of his ways and bring him back to being our employee
>>
>>32572583
That sounds incredibly unlikely. She'd have to be running one hell of a long con.
>>
>>32572629
Well I don't trust anything about her and frankly the whole Louie up and leaving us for some piece of ass seems fucking flimsy and sudden as hell.

I don't see it being legit for Louie to just up and walk out on us after all we've done for him without not even a words notice, just vanishing for a couple days and then suddenly working for our rival and tongue dancing with her.
>>
>>32572667
Completely in-character for a teenager.
>>
>>32572583

No, there's nothing to indicate that Alouette is anything but what she appears at first glance.

Alouette did nothing wrong, Louie is the betrayer although it's understandable.
>>
>>32572667
He wanted to be an official adventurer and we wouldn't listen to him, so he goes and tries to figure it out himself. Allouette visits the guild because we killed all her adventurers and meets Louie.

He felt alienated from us and left, then felt guilty enough that he couldn't face us. It makes sense and didn't feel like it came out of nowhere to me.
>>
>>32572667
While we had done some nice things for him, we'd also taken advantage of his situation for our own benefit. It's hardly unbelievable that he'd switch to Alouette when offered a chance at an adventurer's license (which she'd want to give him in return for his working for her), and a combination of being busy and perhaps embarrassed at leaving keeping him from telling Recette.
>>
>>32572789
>>32572813
even so, after all that and then he can't even face us let alone tell us when we meet him again working for Alouette?

fucking douchbag move Louie

I reckon we wait until Alouette fucks up and save him to make him realise that, sure we take advantage of him, but he'd be safer and more prosperous in the long run with us
>>

I ain't denying that, I just want him working for us again.

Hell, if we had to sign up with the adventurers guild to go legit to get him working for us again I'd go along with it
>>
>>32572937
He's already in. Alouette has his card, so she has the right to call on him for dungeon diving anytime. We could try to get his card too, but you're probably not taking hers away without striking some blows that could just drive Louie away anyway.
>>
>>32572991
one can hope anon... one can hope :(
>>
>>32572937
I don't see the issue, we're buddy-buddy with Alouette anyway so he'll probably go dungeoning with us fairly often as is. Plus, she needs adventurers, and by using one from the canon game we get conservation of characters, rather than adding OCs or giving her no-name adventurers that would be bizarre if we went to a dungeon with her.
>>
>>32572910
>>32572937
>And deep down, even the coldest, most cynical of you care about him too, don't you?

I don't care about him, but I'm happy he found a job that suits him better

>I just want him working for us again.

I want it to never happen.
>>
>>32573048
I want to not take Louie back at all. I want to just be his buddy, the dear old friend he visits whenever he's having trouble with or just need a quick break from Alouette, help them stay together when things get tough and make sure that Alouette knows we're supporting them. She already seems to like us without being willing to admit liking someone so far beneath her social standing (though what is Louie then?) but something like this would make sure that if things ever get really bad, the kind of bad that there's no way we're getting out of unscathed, she'll pull whatever cards she has to protect us.

And I don't even play for the lesbians team, I just think it'd be a good move tactically speaking.

I think plot/character-wise this is the most solid move, unless people really want to romance Louie.

I'd rather NTR Louie by seducing Alouette. Revenge and Societal Advantages at the same time

I'm mostly joking. I don't particularly care for Louie or what happens to him, but Alouette could be useful

As I see it, the cards are already lined up to turn Louie into our link to Alouette. It's an opportunity waiting to be taken advantage of, even if at first it seemed like a loss. It's just a matter of rolling with the blow and turning it into something good instead of trying to fight a battle we're already losing. Not that we can't win, but at this point it'd take a lot of effort, and put Louie into the dominant position by having two girls competing for him. Stupid as he is, he may just realize that and start taking advantage of it.

I'm pretty sure most people have no interest in pursuing either of them romantically, anon.

I'd rather stick to Euria and/or Charme

>Not Nagi
I'm sure she'll appear before the heat death of the universe

Running (further) away with Charme is the only true Racketeer Quest [Good End]. All else is just a form of suffering.
