Undead elves in the forest because arming them with axes and wooden armor sounds cool and cheap, plus manpower for building the area, elves would have to be nearby or allied for growth though
>>
>>32549792

What are the specifications of an undead elf anyway? Why not just regular undead? Elves are gay.
>>
>>32549829
Elves are better at ranged and magic, both of which would be very good for the undead, than humans who are technology and diplomacy (the last of which is probably useless to us)
>>

Elves are in fact not gay, writers just suck in modern times(unfortunatly for all the awesome that is Tolkien he started the sue elves)

I was thinking we could be the ghost of elves that died as their town was burned. We came back to hunt down our attackers.

Or maybe we could be an experiment from one of the druids going down the path of the dark arts.

You were dead.

You remember dying.

They attacked in the dead of night, taking your village completely by surprise. Your small tribe fought to the last elf against a raiding party of vicious satyrs, and you remember turning to defend your friends when a blade impaled you through your chest. The last sight you remember seeing with your mortal eyes was the village priest, Maltheon, praying on his knees, desperately invoking some ancient deity when all seemed lost. And then, darkness.

But your eyes have opened again, and now you are awake. Maltheon made a pact with some dark force that annihilated the satyrs and then raised you all into undeath. You have all been given a second chance at life, along with a new purpose, whatever it may be … but at what cost?

Your village is located about some ancient ruins deep within the forest. You number at about 40, all raised into undeath except Maltheon, who is not quite living or undead, but something else ...

What shall we do first?
>>
>>32549920
Seek Maltheon for guidance, and give praise to our patron god.
>>
>>32549892
id figured the leader was the only one good at magic/ranged, and perhaps training more, going off the druid theory it could easily be a druid trying to rebuild his people that where killed and have thus lost much of who they are and where.
>>
>>32549920
Give thanks and explore for what remains here. Weapons, armor and etc.
>>
>>32549920

Have Maltheon teach magic to a third of the undead. Have one third scavenge the ruins and the dead satyrs, and have the last third scout the area.
>>

You gather your weapons and armor, some damaged from the attack, and start to rebuild your small village. While we want not for food now, some more raw materials for our equipment and village would be nice.

>Perhaps we should scout around?
>>
>>32550099

Scout away! And let's leave Maltheon to his meditating. Guy must be tired.
>>
>>32550099

Iena - Godess of Eternal Life

Those who worship Iena believe that the key to Eternal life is the halting of the bodily processes that cause age. Even the ageless elves, immortal and fair, come to a time when after so many millenia their hairs grow white and their skin wrinkles or they simply fade away altogether.

Both more often, as evident by our town and the satyr's, they die from war or are subject to brutal injury, imagine a life of a thousand years having lost your limbs.

Those who follow Iena believe that the key to true immortality is through Necromancy, to kill a being in their prime and raise them up so that they live in their primal glory and pinnacle forever, than rot away to age or disease.

Those who are "blessed" by Iena find that injuries which would have killed them can be simply shrugged off, an arm reatached, a severed head kept safe and alive until the body is found (and it always seems to know where it is), even an eye which has been crushed to pulp can be gathered from the earth and placed back in the socket to grow anew.

No longer need to fear starvation, or death by bloodloss, or extreme pain. Those who are blessed find their diseases cured, their pain gone, even those born with no arms and limbs can be reattached with new ones. the only thing her followers have to fear is an injury to the brain or magic. Even then, those who are truly truly empowered by her magic can survived the destruction of their brian.

Unlike other deities of death, Iena does NOT seek to convert or extinguish all life. In fact, the true perfection is a world where every living being grows to adulthood, sires new airs, and then in their prime having contributed their seed to the world are blessed with eternal life and eternal youth fearing not hunger, or disease, or pain, or death.

Her Dream is to create a world without death, or as little of death as there can be.

Your scouting party explores the immediate area - your are surrounded by forest on all sides. To the west of the village lies a small river that cuts through the forest, running from north to south. To the north are where wild deer make their home. You remember hunting them for food, once ... already, the memories of your past life seem distant, like a old dream. The world now seems dimmer, as if everything were a bit more grey. But it matters not. More importantly, your scouts report satyr tracks leaving from the village somewhere to the south-east.

Your laborers have gathered a moderate supply of wood from some of the larger trees directly south, with which you may do as you please.

Also, have a small search party follow the river downstream. Civilization sprouts around rivers. There's bound to be a village out there.

We take the lumber and fix our dwellings, with enough left over to build some rudimentary palisades around the perimeter.

We are in disagreement on whether or not to follow the trail, so further deliberation is needed.

Finally, one of the more curious undead elves sees a patch of noonday sunlight breaking through the thick canopy of the forest. He decides to step into it. What happens?

WE MARCH.

At first light, we arm our war party with the rudimentary weapons we possess - spears, bows, and throwing-axes - and follow the satyr trail. With our natural elven tracking skills not eroded by undeath, we easily make it to their village, located in a forest clearing. As we step out into the sunlight from the forest, Iena blesses us with Her armor of nature. A volley of arrows into the village is followed by a squad of Dryads charging forward!

We elves who have been raised cannot sire progeny, but the still-mortal satyrs could. The newly-raised satyrs attempt to communicate with their still-mortal kin, but the communications do not seem to go well - the living satyrs take their lives once the opportunity arises. Attempts to raise them as well do not work. Perhaps Iena does not bestow her gift upon those who have taken their own lives, or perhaps it was because those satyrs simply did not want to live again under Her wing.

Such are the mysteries of Iena.

Your initially-raised satyr thralls, however, are happy to tell you what they know, and they can share their knowledge (the gift of Iena brings with it a common tongue, it seems). They know of no other tribes around here, but there is a mountain range further east from the forest. Their tech is no more advanced than ours.

Furthermore, our satyr thralls are not granted the armor of Iena like we elves are. Why, we do not know. But they shall serve as our laborers in the forest and nocturnal guards - small roles, but important. Iena finds a place for everyone, it seems.

You start climbing up the foothills into the mountains to get your bearings.

After some way up, you turn and look around. The ancient forest stretches out beneath you like a sea of green, with the river visible in the distance - that is where your village lies.

Near the horizon, far across from the river, you see plains and a faint blue shimmer. Perhaps a trick of the light, or some great lake or sea?

To the north and south, the mountain range stretches on. You see what might be a valley to your south, and highlands to your north.
