"Yes. You see, he died in a car accident. That's why he's been gone lately."

Your mind goes blank. You don't know what to think.

You must think of what father told you. Yes, he mentioned something like this can happen. And what did he tell you to say?

"I don't understand.", you say. "What do you mean by that, mother?"

She gives you a surprised look for a moment. "...No, I suppose you don't. Don't think too much about it, dear. I'll explain it to you some other time."

You understand perfectly, of course. What this means is that father's words about mother are definitely true. There is no more doubt in your mind. Some day, she will pay.

As expected, there's a whole ton of important memories here. You'll have to sift through them all to find something actually important.

That is proving to be more difficult than you'd initially assumed, though. While you didn't always stick together during elementary and middle school, by high school you were very rarely separated, and on pretty much all of those occasions Satsuki told you how they went herself.

The accident with the Nine-Star uniform, discovering your blood relation, Ragyou's visit during Honnouji's opening ceremony, putting on Junketsu, and so on. Those are all things you already know everything about.

Maybe you should try an earlier time period, after all. Or perhaps, you just need to look harder?

Well, you haven't checked the middle school part of Satsuki's memories yet. While you already were good friends by that time, you didn't really spend as much time together, or act as close to each other, obviously.

Neither of you knew who you really are to each other at the time. On top of that, Satsuki was still maintaining her facade back then, even towards you. She trusted you the most no doubt, but even then there were a lot of things she kept to herself.

You hope you won't run into anything she wouldn't want you to see. While both of you agreed to let the other peek into memories as they see fit, you wouldn't want to overstay your welcome. You can't really think of any memory of yours that you would like to conceal from Satsuki, but maybe it's different for her.

You got a bit sidetracked in your thinking. You still haven't even examined the memories you can choose from.

Several of those are quite obvious. The first meetings with Inumuta, Gamagoori, and Sanageyama. You remember those perfectly well. There are several others, as well. For instance, the first surprise birthday party you've held for Satsuki with Nonon. Overall, it seems to be mostly stuff you already know about, or experienced first hand.

And then, there's a bunch of memories that stand out quite a bit, mostly because you can't even catch a glimpse of them. Something is pushing you away from them. You assume that those are the memories she doesn't want you to see.
