Your response is to reach outwards with one armored hand and clench it into a fist, metal grinding against metal beneath the extreme pressure.

"My will is all I have left," you reply solemnly. "Whatever happened to me, I did it. It was a result of my desire to see you again, and whaddya know...it worked."

"But for how long?" Satsuki replies back, a touch of concern on her face. "Surely you cannot guarantee your ability to remain conscious, to remain as...whatever you are now?"

"Nope!" You laugh, needlessly scratching the back of your metal head. "I'm just going with the flow like usual."

Where to from here? The Academy is in ruins, Ryuuko is over by her friend looking absolutely miserable, and the same could be said for Hakodate and everyone else who thought you were gone forever! Not to mention, Harime Nui is still out there, and separating from these forces to hunt her and REVOCS alone could have its advantages. Satsuki certainly doesn't need to be arousing her mother's suspicions, particularly at this stage. Leaving could avoid painting a target on the back of her head.

On the other hand, the Battlefield Trip is supposed to be tomorrow! They'll need all the help they can get to subjugate the rest of the schools.

OK guys, I have so much time on my hands right now, and I have Construct on my computer (free; makes HTML5 games).

I am going to try to make a game based on the Quest (with blessing from Based OP, hopefully, if not then I can just keep it to myself).

No promises on the game being good or looking good, or ever actually being finished. What I CAN promise is updates on any progress. What I WANT to promise is that I will occasionally get playable in development builds up for you guys to try.

"I'll be back in a little while," you tell Satsuki, turning away and moving towards the crowd. She understands and, with a slight nod and smile, turns away herself to go and be with the Devas.

As you approach the crowd, you're overwhelmed by the sound of many different conversations going on at once. Everyone seems to have turned their attention away from you only momentarily as you were speaking with Satsuki, but that attention shifts once again as you join their ranks and cross your arms.

"So," you begin, your voice echoing out of the helm. "I'm still in one piece, somehow. Pretty neat, huh?"

WHAM! Just like that, Hakodate swings a chair into you and you go tumbling down. Her eyes are like fire and you could swear her teeth are twice as sharp as usual!

"What gives?! Ow, OW!"

The chair shattered on impact, and now she's resorted to swinging away at you with the broken legs. You grab her wrists and despite all that ferocity she's showing, you laugh.

"And here I thought you'd be happy to see me. Tch, some assistant! Don't even care for your boss?"

"Screw you! You set yourself on fire and turned into a robot! I can't even find the words for how stupid and reckless you've been acting! How could you just run off and do that kinda crap to us?!"

"I'm sorry?"

"Damn right you are!"

Growling in a very amusing fashion, she swings at you with her hands and attempts to chomp at you with her teeth, but you just wrap her up in a funny hug and shake her a little bit.

"Aww, I missed you too."

"WORST BOSS EVER! SOMEONE TAKE MY JOB!"

"I'll take it!" Some random One-Star shouts.

"I'm sorry, but we are not accepting applications at this time," you sing out in a mocking tone.

"Bastard!" Hakodate whines, pummeling you with her fists and bawling at the same time.

"I missed ya," you admit with a laugh. Her eyes are all bubbly and tear-filled and her mouth is quivering, Mako-style. Cute.

The crowd laughs and cheers, and the air is filled with applause as you set Hakodate down and greet everyone one at a time. It takes a while, but eventually you bump into someone you haven't seen for quite some time.

"Yo," is your nonchalant introduction. The No-Star gives you a half-hearted wave and a slight smile.

"Hey," he replies. Even if he's still a bit unsure of himself, you can tell he's grown since the two of you last saw one another. He's now on a different level than the kid you once saved from a few One-Star bullies.

"I never caught your name, even after all this time," you say apologetically. You motion to Iori and he begins to hurry over to your position.

"Fate," the No-Star replies, noticeably relaxing his posture a bit.

"Fate," you repeat. "Fate, Fate, Fate." You sample the word a few times and, were it possible, you'd have smiled.

"It's a cool name," you finally respond, giving him a thumbs-up. "I can tell you'll do great things with a name like that! And since we're here and I've got Iori at arm's length, I guess now's as good a time as any."

When at last the young tailor and scientist reaches you, you quickly wrap an arm around his shoulder and lean into his ear, whispering something. He nods approvingly and complies to whatever mysterious instructions you gave him, he retrieves a remote and presses the big red button.
