Out of breathe, wounded and completely furious, you continue your attack on the grotesque monster that laid waste to your friends, and your dearly beloved. She wanted you to escape, to live to warn her father of the danger that rests with continuing the mission. The person you trusted all this time, turning out to be...this..that made you angry, the fact that the same monster is insulting the one you cared about made you furious. There's no way you can forgive them, you just can't and you can't stand not being able to avenge her, so you fight. Using your fury as your strength you double your grip on your sword and run forward with every intention of taking it with you to the grave.

You lurch forward shouting, and desperately look around, it was just a nightmare. You try to get your bearings of your surroundings. You take a look at the clock on the nightstand, its 10am you slept longer than usual.
>>
>>32334070
You get out of the bed and start your normal routine, well the routine you've had ever since you started living here. Just a couple of weeks ago you didn't even know your own name, and you didn't know where you were from. All you had was a diary and a reoccuring nightmare. Thankfully you were taken in by a kind, yet strange older woman, the same person who found you. Who the hell takes in a complete amnesiac stranger? She also gave you the idea of taking the name that was written in the journal, Vivian Clarkson, it feels right.

After getting dressed you exit the apartment with your diary in hand, trying to figure out what to do for today.

>Go to the coffee shop. Your favorite barrista is probably working right now
>Go to the park. You want to read more of your diary, maybe you might find something about how you ended up there.
>Try to find a job, you feel bad about bumming around in an old woman's apartment.

Job, find out what skills were good at
>>
>>32334127
You head straight to the park you were found in. On the way there you fondly playback the memory of how you were found.

She woke you up by poking you with her cane, right in the ribs. The clothes you had were pretty tattered and you couldn't make sense of where you were. The weirdest thing of all was that she didn't really ask any questions. Just what your name was and where you were from.

Its not before long when you arrive at the park. The place is decently populated with mothers walking with their young children, joggers and dog walkers.

You find an empty park bench and crack open your diary. You haven't opened it since the day she took you to her apartment. You flip to a random entry.

-Year 354, 2nd month, day 4
I feel absolutely naked without my sword and armor. I hate having to go undercover like this, but Benjamin insisted that I continue monitoring his sister.

...She's really beautiful...this isn't really the time to admire her.

You flip through some more pages

-Year 355, 6th month, day 12
I have a feeling that the imp that has been traveling with us for some time has much disdain for me. It just so happens that she likes to hang around Milly...who doesn't take me seriously. This sucks.

>Read through more of the diary
>Look around the park maybe you left something else here.
>>
>>32334594
Read things in chronological order, or get a job
>>
>>32334775
Randomly flipping through the diary isn't doing you any good. So you decide to read it in chronological order.

After about an hour of reading, a lot of entries sound downright fantastical, and unbelievable compared to what you've seen since you were woken up in the park.

There aren't any Templar, or knights protecting the citizens here, just policemen. There aren't any white mages or arcanists here. And there certainly aren't any monsters here.

You sigh and close the book, wondering if perhaps you were some sort of writer before your memory problems. That seems like the best explanation.

You get up and decide to make use of your time to find a job.

>You like people, a lot. Try for customer service
>You like to protect people. So find someplace that lets you do that.
>Find a newspaper with some interesting listings.
>>
>>32334912
>You like to protect people. So find someplace that lets you do that.
>>
>>32335584
There's an innate desire to protect people that's in your gut, similar to the protagonist in your diary. You decide that the best job for you would be something that involves that. Trying to become a policewoman would bear some difficulty, as you don't have the proper papers the Lauren, the woman who took you in described. So you have to make do with the secondary options.

After some footwork, there appears to be a couple of places that do indeed need a security guard or a bouncer. The next step is to decide which one to go to.

>Security guard at a mall
>Security guard at a factory
>Bouncer at a club
>Security for a person of interest
>>
>>32335701
>Bouncer at a club
>>
>>32335881
Being a bouncer sounds the most appealing out of all of them so you make your way to one of the moderately popular clubs in the city. You find one of the places that said they were in desperate need for bouncers. A place called Sinful dawn.

You knock on the door and wait a few moments before a man with a hooked nose answers. You state you're there for the job, even though you have no memory of fighting, you feel oddly confident in your ability to defend yourself.

After the meeting, he tells you to come back later when the club is open for business. You take your leave when you notice a young looking boy that's looking directly at you. As you walk towards the apartment, you can't shake the feeling that someone has been watching you.

Taking a detour back to the park looks like a good move, so you do so. You glance over your shoulder and sure enough you see the kid following you. Pretty blatantly.

Arriving at the park, you take a seat on one of the empty park benches to take a rest. Essentially you've been walking around all day.

The stalker in training casually sits down next to you and smiles widely at you.

"Found you. Its been a while, dark knight."

>What? Dark Knight?

"Very funny, but piss off." you get irritated, you may be an amnesiac but you're not a moron you already tell you don't like him.

He laughs in your face "Just as hostile as ever" The kid stands up and pulls out a flip phone from his hoody. "I should call the others and tell them you're alright. They're worried about you."

You have an urge to reach deep inside you and attack him with dar-- wait a minute, do you even know how to do that?

The kid doesn't wait for a reply as he gets on the phone and calls his friends. The park is pretty empty right now.

>Attempt to channel the anger inside you and fire it at the kid

Realization shows up on his face as he bursts into laughter. "Are you serious? You lost your memories? This is fantastic." it was a full irritating minute until he stops laughing at you.

"Since you lost your memories, I guess I have to remind you. Dark knight is your JOB, Sir Clarkson. You channel anger and use it to kill things. You look pissed off enough, try using one of your abilities on that tree"

You figure that you would humor the bastard, as you had enough of him mocking you.
The true source of your anger right now is the kid anyway, he has been screwing with you for the last 15 minutes, you channel that anger from within you and focus it into your right hand. A ball of pure dark energy engulfs it.

You see the kid watching you intently, and you decide the little asshole has had enough fun for tonight, so you aim it at him. As you let it go you feel some energy drain away from you.

HP:13/15

You get a very satisfying feeling from seeing him shocked that you would attack him. He barely dodges out of the way as the ball of darkness hits the tree behind him. Yes, this is a great feeling, the name of this ability pops into your head.

Dark bane: You take hatred from inside of you and deal dark damage. This takes 20% of your hp.

"I guess I pushed you a little too much there, sorry Vivian" the boy recovers from his dodge but he doesn't look sorry. "You clearly have a million questions right now don't you? They're all over your face."

"Who is coming to the part? You were on the phone right?" you still have the offending device in your hand.

The kid smiles. "Our friends from the other world obviously. Though you were pretty rude, you hung up on them."

You were about to ask another question when a small group of people, three of them, arrive at the park, A tall, dark haired man on the left, a medium height, red haired girl in the center, and another girl, taller than the red head and dark haired on the right. Two of them stop in their tracks and stare at you in shock, while the redhead runs as fast she could over to you and tackles you in a hug. You feel yourself calming down.

They all have a sense of familiarity, but you can't recall their names at all. For a while you watch them debate on how to get you up to speed, the kid however doesn't say a word, while you sit on one of the benches. They ultimately decide that taking you to their hideout would be the best course of action.

You dumbly follow them to their hideout, idly wondering if this is a good idea or not, while the redhead fondly updates you on the party's happenings. It seems like you all arrive to the apartment at no time at all.

The party sits you down on the couch, the redhead, who is called Milly, like the girl in your book, sits next to you, smiling while the tall dark haired guy, Alexander and the demure dark haired girl, Mia sit across from you. The boy stays in the kitchen and starts cooking.
>>
>>32340174
It feels like forever before someone starts talking, the atmosphere being ridiculously heavy. However the tension is cut when Alexander pipes up.

"Where were you Vivian? How come you didn't contact us?"

You don't know where to start exactly, but you explain that you woke up in the park, with your memories missing and only the diary in your possession. You pretty much lived day to day at Lauren's apartment until you came across the boy, who goes by Luke.

Milly takes the lead and fills you in on what happened to them. They all seemed to wake up near each other, only you were missing. They seemed to have some memory loss on how they got there, but the party still remembers their jobs, their pasts, and what happened up until they ended up here.

Then, Mia takes the reigns, apparently the party has finished collecting the four crystals that allowed everyone the power to defeat the beast Jormungandr, or the Serpent that devours the world. Everyone only remembers up to the part where the crystals were found, even Luke and right now they're trying to piece together what happened.

Milly cheers, Alex sighs in relief and Mia sips her tea. "Oh thank goodness you didn't leave it where you're staying at. So what does the last entry say?"

You oblige and flip through the pages to the very last entry and read it aloud

-Year 356, month 1, day 1.
After our long perilous journey, we have finally found the four crystals that will let us defeat this blasted world eater. The airship is getting pretty unstable as it enters the dark aurora. My only hope is that I could protect Milly from harm. -V.C.

They all clearly recall the airship but you, disappointment fills the air. You see Milly blush slightly

"So, what world are we from? How long have I been a dark knight? All of this...in my journal..this is all true?"

Milly is the first one to answer, "Well you never personally let us see your journal, but you would always write in it. I would say that its all true. You've been training as a dark knight ever since we've been kids, you and my brother were always comparing your skills as knights." she recalls fondly.

Alex chips in as well, "We found you following us and we all fought until a huge monster interrupted. You insisted on coming with us because you wanted to protect Milly." Mia finally talks as well, "At the same time, you were flirting with every girl that would look at you.". Milly giggles.
>>
>>32340904
"Nevermind all of that, we have to find a way to get back to Luxendarc. We have to, for the sake of the people." Alex says firmly with conviction. The others nod their heads. Luke finally joins the conversation. "So since we finally found Ms.Dark knight here, we can begin to search for a way back to our own world."

Alexander is the first to answer this time. "When we got ourselves oriented, I could find that I could still use my white magic. Mia could still use some of her black magic, and Milly could still use her Templar abilities. According to that demolished tree in the park, you can obviously still use your Dark Knight abilities."

Luke continues, "This world does have many stories about magic and mystical beasts, it may not be far from fiction. We just have to find them. In fact, we're leaving tomorrow for to England there's a place called Stonehenge that's supposed to have a ton of magical properties, we'll use that to get home. "

"And how will you do this, the UK is on another continent and unless you guys forgot I have amnesia so theres that problem, not to mention housing and supplies once we get there, i don't think that stonehedge will just have a magical portal for us or whatever. Besides I'm still trying to get my head around this. And there's the issue of the woman that helped me, what about her? She's probably worried about me."

This much is for certain, you don't have a cellphone and you were never gone this long from Lauren's apartment. She must be pretty worried. "She's right, Luke, we can't just up and leave yet, we need to have a plan. How about we wait a week and let Vivian get her bearings, maybe she'll remember more stuff."

Luke gets pouty, "Geez guys I've been researching this stuff at the library the whole couple of weeks we've been here. I'm fairly certain stonehenge is our best shot. But if you guys want to waste time, then we'll plan out a little more."Alex claps his hands together, "So we're in agreement, we wait until Vivian is ready to go."
>>
>>32342274
"I should go ahead and go back to where I was staying" there's disappointed looks all around, you take the cellphone Luke had out of your pocket. "And you guys should have this back." Milly immediately tells you no, that you should keep it in case they need to talk to you. You say your good byes and take your leave out of their apartment building. Its actually not too far from where you and Lauren live, just a couple of blocks away.

A sudden reminder pops into your head, shit you have to go to the Bouncing job at the club. You quickly dial Lauren's cellphone number that you wrote down on one of the pages in your journal and then rush down there.

The guy that hired you was pretty glad to see you as they're short handed, otherwise it was a pretty uneventful night. Just an obnoxious couple arguing too loudly.

You get home pretty early in the morning, Lauren is up and making herself a light breakfast. "So where did you go all day and all night?"

>Writein.

>>32342531
After a moment, you decide to tell her the truth, leaving the fictional sounding parts out. "I met some people that recognized me. They want to go to England to see Stonehedge and they want me to go with them. They wanted to leave really soon" you pause and rub the back of your neck. "I told them I didn't want to leave yet, because I haven't gotten around to telling you. I still owe you a lot for taking me in."

Lauren takes a sip of her coffee and smiles at you. "Well I'm glad you found your friends. I figured you weren't from here, you have sort of an accent." well that's true. You two talk while Lauren finishes her breakfast, not before long she has to go to her teaching job. "You can still make yourself at home, I hope you guys have fun over there." she pauses before she leave "You don't owe me anything, I just helped someone in trouble."

She leaves you to your own devices, which you immediately use to take a nap. The owner of the club wants you back later tonight, and you do want some time before that to practice some of your dark knight abilities.

You wake up late in the afternoon, you don't have to be at work until 7PM.

Having a lot of time to kill, you figure that you should definitely get a hold of your powers. While walking to one of the empty lots you reflect on the events that took place yesterday. This feels really out there, as if any of this isn't real. You definitely do know it is real though, four people with the exact same names and "jobs" as the ones in your journal? Your ability to control the hatred and anger inside of you into devastating energy? This all sounds new.

Trying to go back "home" is another matter completely, you're not even sure if you want to go with them at all. You already have a new home, a job, and someone that has genuine concern for you. That isn't fair though, they didn't know where you were, they have probably been looking for you ever since everyone landed here somehow, especially Milly the person you seemed to have written about most. Your more pragmatic side takes over, how do they even know if Luxendarc still exists...Jormungandr, the world eater sounds really menacing if the heroes that were supposed to defeat it are here, then what became of Luxendarc?

You think about the last entry in the journal while setting up a sort of makeshift practice target to use your powers on.

You remember when you used Dark bane on Luke last night, the ability gave you a ton of mixed feelings, mainly satisfaction and feeling a little drained. It seems like it'll take a lot out of you if you use it too much. So you decide to save that kind of ability for later.

Instead, you focus on using some of that energy to create a sort of aura of darkness around you. You feel slightly tougher, like you can add more power to your dark abilities and also more intimidating, this seems like a good way to keep people from trying to fight you.

Gloom - Increases dark damage by 15%, also creates an aura of intimidation.

You spend the rest of your time using a pipe as if it were a sword, your body obviously knows what its doing. All of the moves you make feel natural. A sudden memory pops into your head, you and a big burly red headed man are sparring, you're both evenly matched, but his defense is really tough, a redheaded girl, Milly is on the sidelines whining about how she wants to spar too.

Practicing your abilities seemed to unearth a memory which makes you excited and disappointed at the same time, its a nice memory, but not a useful one.

You still have some time before work.

Going straight to work seems to be the best course of action, since you were sort of a few minutes late on the first day. You feel that its probably best to think about your situation a little more before you talk to them again. Thinking a bit realistically is normal right?

You head straight to the club and on the way in you greet the manager, who is still glad that you're there to help keep the troublemakers and bickering couples out.

The night goes on like normal, the patrons tonight were sparse since it is a weekday.

Its early morning, and you drag your feet back to the apartment, you have small talk with Lauren about your job again before she leaves for work, then you go to your room and fall asleep.

Also try to world build on you're off time or whenever as it seems like you're making this up as you go. Again not bad but its noticeable. But still good job can't wait for the next one.

Also, we kinda dont know the "normal" of this world. Is it smartphone or just cellphone age? Try to think about how to convey that unobtrusively in your narrative.
