16th day of Prophecy, inside the dojo of the Rahall mansion located at the garden of Everblue.

An intense short lived feeling of hot, burning pain jolted Siegfried away from his mother once the scene started to fade, the vision of the wounded, severely bleeding dark winged marauder standing over a female werewolf in even worse shape was everything he needed to know in hindsight, the entire battle itself had been quite enlightening in other respect, Siegfried certainly felt glad he never came face to face with a true lycanthrope.

‘’Ah! Sorry! I’m…’’

The pain was already gone, no throbbing or lingering agony troubled his eyes, only a few tears came from the irritation as he stood there, mind working and plotting over this information, the last of the Seals was safe, she had been targeted by her very bodyguard, an infiltrated agent…

‘’Siegfried?’’

When his mother put her hand on his shoulder the young man finally awakened from his bad, bad habit and stared back at the maiden, the one true living god of this world, whether the last one that’ll ever be remains to be seen. The radiance surrounding her felt otherworldly, a stark reminder of the company of angels that still felt natural, again Siegfried couldn’t help but feel stunned by the simple natural fact that his mother was alive and breathing – incarnated – instead of addressing him as a god.

‘’Don’t worry, just some irritations in the eyes.’’

‘’I-I’m sorry it’s not as easy as I thought to…’’

But he interrupted by placing a finger on her lisps, eyes narrowing into her golden gaze.

‘’Don’t feel guilty or sorry; I’m overjoyed by your presence even if this scenery is cold and cruel. You’ve proved yourself invaluable mother, thank you for being here tonight, showing me this and making sure Kyorn could save Mebuchednazi’’

An upward curl in the corner of her mouth was all the answers he needed while stepped back, the fresh, cold night air of autumn was a harsh, harsh reminder of business at hand; while his coat was long and warm Mana only had a sheet for modesty and she certainly was trying her best to keep herself from trembling.

‘’Right now we-‘’

Unfortunately, as he stepped forward the young man felt a strong, invasive sentiment of vertigo that nearly robbed him of his balance, the three corpses and damage to the dojo appeared in his mind incessantly as he tried and managed to ignore the fatigue in his body, something that made Mana sudden closeness rather surprising as she tightening her grip on his shoulder.

‘’Siegfried’’

‘’Mother we have to warn everyone in the castle quietly, it might be wiser to investigate properly however, I doubt we’ve been followed although…’’

This time she interrupted and put her finger atop his lisps, forcing her son to silence whose gaze lingered into the unnatural gold of his mother.

‘’Calm down, alright?’’

She forced him to silence once more with the sweet sternness that only mothers possess and even managed to make him forget his surrounding, his eyes lingered around her long, silky colored hair as she grimaced in some kind of displeasure, dark through running through her mind, undoubtedly.

Again she insisted, taking a step forward, closing into his personal space, all but forcing her will and intention forward, the mere sheet and mismatched coat didn’t rob a speck of charisma from the woman, Siegfried could only swallow down his protest.

I thought this might be the case but I'm utterly convinced now. This whole quest is what results when you throw the MGE, Dark Souls, and Blazblue/Guilty Gear into a blender. Hell, the fight with Concherto was like watching Azrael vs. Kagura, Kyorn even has the tats for it. And with the soul fusion we did we turned Athena into hot lizardgirl Jin. And Deruella is working to unseal what sounds like a Megadeath-Class Gear. Those are things so big, deadly and powerful the best the Sacred Order could do in most cases was seal them.

We couldn't be more fucked unless we tried, glorious. I'm seeing our berserker as having Ramletherl's Instant Kill. Haddy could easily have something similar Ky's and Siggy just gained the ability to ape Millia or I-No's IK depending on the enemy's range. Might as well just go with it, we have several assholes in need of being DESTROYED.

Oh boy, exposition, one of my favorite things!

The OutRage is a set of weapons developed by Sol Badguy to combat the Gears. Their function is to amplify a given magical element. Basically, it boosts your magical capacity. He uses "Fireseal", which amplifies fire magic. Ky used to have "Thunderseal" which powered up his lightning but he sacrificed it to save his waifu. So if we got our hands on the water magic version Siggy would get a huge power boost.

The Nox Nyctores are phenomena weapons created using human souls in a smelting process. They are much like Conceptual Weapons, they execute a pre-determined phenomena like "Shooting through walls" or "Cutting things that can't be cut". The Yukianesa creates ice which erodes all life it touches. Would be a nice boost for our spikes.

Also, another similarity, the Zero-Type Izayoi "Immortal Breaker" does exactly what it says on the tin and is thus very similar to the "Blade of Induced Death" that the turboslut got her hands on.

A brief relent was all the mother needed to press on, her son could only sigh and yield to such calm stubbornness, she smiled sweetly despite the grim surrounding and wrapped one hand around his and tugged him onward while clutching the sheet keeping her modesty.

‘’I’ll still need to inform my brother and Ame, I can’t simply go to sleep while keeping this to myself.’’

‘’Don’t worry’’

Mana showed surprising curtness by a swift interruption, insisting on pressing onward toward the door, the frost and cold inside the dojo made both of their breath escapes in constant puff of smoke and Siegfried resolved to stay silent and open the door leading back to the (deceased) garden of Everblue; whereupon a single silhouette was standing amidst the dead flowers, a short statured silhouette clad in a hooded rain cloak would have made proper identification difficult, deducing who she was however, was a simply matter of deduction.

‘’Another mantis…’’

He whispered, the darkness of the early morning made the monster face impossible to read yet her stature and height mirrored the petite build of Sylphis.

‘’One you can trust to relay whatever message you need.’’

‘’Did she…?’’

See your ritual he wished to add but the young man left the end of this sentence to die in the wind and instead looked inquisitively toward his mother while the insect-woman stood still like a statue, observing them cautiously.

‘’Most likely. Anyhow, go on now, I’ll convince her to let us go’’

If there’s one thing Siegfried didn’t know how to do, it was relaxing and leaving business to others; even after his dear mother nearly threatened to make cooked meat out of the mantis so her ‘’commander’’ could rest he felt tempted to interrupt and accompany the insect, it’s obvious she’ll be reporting to her peers along with Rhy and the regent first of all, to believe or even say it was ‘’out of his hand’’ was frustrating. Physical limits have already been jumped over, he’d obviously be swaying if it weren’t for the woman support as they made their way into the corridors of the mansion, Mana was guiding him to the commune chamber, somehow knowing where it was and, in turn, making the poor young man incredibly fearful of an all but certain future.

‘’I can walk on my own’’

Yet she tightened her grip and smooched herself closer to his body in silent protest, her long smooth and tough hair caressed the side of his face and he fell silent before she spoke.

‘’I know’’

Why must this mother be so insistent? The population of the mansion was few given the late hours, doubly so with their destination – the rest of the way was a silent stride that worked to increased Siegfried dread all the way until he stopped in front of the double set of doors firmly shut, cutting off sounds and vision of the room within but a lukewarm projection of fiery light leaked through the bottoms of said doors; some or most of the girls were probably still awake.

‘’Well then, shall we go?’’

Her carefreeness was scary, her current attire being nothing more than a long dirt stained sheet and his own dark colored coat nearly gave a third or fourth wind and jump in front of her in protest; how in the world can such a thing be justified? «Hello girls, I brought my mother to sleep tonight. Hope you don’t mind»

‘’Meeting the parents usually require a little more preparation’’

She smiled at his statement, a wonderfully warm expression that managed to freeze the blood in his veins without the aid of magic.

‘’Yes. And?’’

She’s enjoying every second and will continue to do so once inside, the sweet expression she displayed was a mere mask hiding sadistic pleasure, part of him wondered if she was actually holding a grudge of some kind.

‘’Time for a spontaneous entry’’

With desperate swiftness Siegfried untangled himself from his insistent mother and charged the door, nearly busting through but, thankfully, still possess enough presence of mind to avoid throwing his weight on the handle, one of the door yielded without protest, revealing the homely, big room housing a commune bed made of nearly ten mattress occupying the better part of the floor, several piece of furniture had been pushed to make space, the total space of this conglomeration touched the eastern wall while the women atop laid in several states of sleeps and activity.

Sylphis, Bletsia and Emeth laid close together, the golem had been obviously awaken by the intrusion and craned her neck upward to stare placidly at the young man while the two other girls, obviously in deep sleep, grunted in protest and shifted without opening their eyes. Athena was one of the awaken women, laying on her back, body hidden by the sheets, attention robbed by the intrusion while a strange, small smile spread on her lisps and started prodding the side of the Demon Lord who twitched in response, her own gaze shifting behind the stiff young man whose body couldn’t quite hide his mother.

Leila was occupying a nice spot, obviouslymade to sleep by her lonesome in order to avoid troubling her, Mylen and Hadraniel were sitting side by side by the wall, the grim and obscure bodyguard looking strangely tense as her hip wings seemed to be rubbing against the brightly white, fluffy counterpart of her angelic friend who looked halfway between meditation and sleeping, eyes now open to look at Siegfried sudden intrusion, small tremble seemed to assail her body in uneven spasm as she kept her head on the half-succubus shoulders.

Mana Shieffer, otherwise known as Mother Earth to a very select few, made her presence known and obvious by stepping out of her son shadow, her state of near undress only worked to further hammer in the nail, her long twice colored hair fell to the side and back of her body putting, emphasis her curves and built while the dirt stains had –somehow- moved to the front of her vestment, she slowly hovered her single useable arm while her poor, poor son started to sweat and gave a small little wave to the assembly who, by now, were staring at the embarrassed young man who couldn’t bear to details their expressions.

‘’Don’t mind me, I’m a simple stray taking advantage of this man generosity.’’

If air was a liquid, it’d be frozen solid by now.

With only extreme duress of this situation not blame, Siegfried couldn’t help but wonder to himself about how these women would react if he were to enter with a small girl instead of a beautiful maiden, perhaps he could escape all the accusing, cold, angered, astonished stares and gain a modicum of positive emotion instead, part of him felt actually glad that the links had lessened, although a strange tightness in his chest made him look toward Athena; the once-knight seemed stuck between hilarity and anger.

‘’Ahem!’’

Mana statements was far from helpful and her ever dutiful son stepped forward to try and hide his mother, which in turn was replied by a stubborn forward step so she could keep herself in the limelight, seemingly taking joy in everyone scrutiny.

‘’Ladies’’

His voice thankfully didn’t squeak or break from the pressure.

‘’Meet my mother, mother my.....companions."

Attempting to break the ice was an obviously fruitless endeavor for none of the girls made any attempt at moving for a few, long, long seconds where Siegfried finally dared to look toward his faithful bodyguard, Mylen. She hadn’t moved from her spot but her red eyes were focused entirely on Mana, brows nearly knitted together in a mixture of emotions while the color of her skin had visibly paled, her hands were grasping the linen of her pants strong enough to turn her knuckles white. Hadraniel had stepped away, lifting her head from Mylen shoulders, golden halo brightening slightly as she slowly rubbed your bodyguard arm who twitched in response, visibly snarling.

‘’Your… mother?’’

Athena had finally broken the ice in the meantime, lifting herself off the bed while Daiyu tilted her head sideways, the once-knight garbed in comfortable linen underwear consisting of a simple shirt and shorts; the very first one to rise from the bed she approached the smaller woman but stopped midway when a brief clamor erupted, a surprised yelp from the angel caught everyone attention and woke the mantis right up who twitched in turn and tried to untangle herself from Bletsia sticky grasp to no avail. Mylen had rudely jumped to her feet and made a second bounce on the floor, her wings flapped and her arm shoot toward the spear resting on the wall but thankfully stopped on her own as she let out a long, long breath, staring and now glaring at Mana who, by now, had closed her eyes, waiting for Mylen to calm down…

With an entirely new kind of cold in the room, Mylen grasped her weapon and walked in a near jogging pace toward mother and son, stopping right in front of the woman, paying no mind to Athena who took a prudent step back while rubbing her stump, part of her intention filtered toward the young man; she was wondering if she could stop the succubus.

‘’You. Come with me. Now.’’

In the meantime Mylen had put her hand on Mother Earth nude shoulder, Hadraniel had also risen to her feet, her entire body was sweaty and trembling slightly yet, she seemed to have reached some kind of satisfied conclusion as she sat back down while curling her wing close.

‘’But I want to torment the girls and Siegfried…’’

Mana pouted back, which provoked a dangerous snarl from the dark haired girl.

‘’Now!’’

Mylen insisted back, pointing at the door with her spear and immediately taking off while Mana stared with surprising neutrality, turning back to her son.

‘’Will you accompany us on this reunion, Siggy?’’

See, she was a bit busy being turned into a succubus by Deruella or Noscrim then getting quarantined before she raped somebody shortly before we and a good chunk of our troops got drowned in corruption and were disintegrated down to their skeletons as a result. Siegfried didn’t bother to grace Sylphis little remark and instead whirled around, heart pumping and glad to exit this room; it was however, an exchange of a monster for another, Mylen had already disappeared outside while Mana kept his pace, only to be interrupted when the young man turned once more, gracing the moving and undoubtedly surprised assembly with a thumb up before looking at Hadraniel and gesturing her onward, something that was responded by a nod as she slowly pulled herself back on her feet, showing a surprising struggle as her entire body seemed wracked in small shakings while her skin was obviously pouring out sweat, yet she marched onward, deep blue nightgown clinging to her body as Siegfried wondered, for a moment, if he wasn’t making a mistake; his doubts vanished when he met his mother gaze, she nodded and smiled before taking off ahead of him.

The corridor of this peculiar side of the manor were thankfully nice, large and deserted; even the decorative furniture had been taken away, Mylen was taking every centimeters during her pacing, going back and forth then left and right oftentimes slapping the blunt end of the spear on the ground, pacing on continuously under the guise of Siegfried, Mana and Hadraniel who was leaning on the wall while the other two were standing solidly on their feet.

‘’What…what the hell is this, Siegfried!?’’

She pointed toward Mana, her deep red eyes shifting toward Hadraniel before settling back to her charge and lover.

‘’You mother!? Your mother!? She was… she was declared dead and buried! The Red Cloaks themselves found her! Your brother made absolutely certain there was no mistake! How the hell can you pretend… how can…’’

She slapped the staff end of the red artefact on the ground once more, the loud knocking reverberating slightly in the stony architecture of the mansion, rubbing her face in frustration, eyes leaking tears, then promptly turning while flapping the wings at her hips, this time striking the wall with her weapon, causing another «clung» that’d, most likely, alerted the mantises if they weren’t peeking on this scene already; Siegfried couldn’t quite tell, neither did her care.

‘’…Mylen’’

His mother spoke softly while he looked at Hadraniel, the angel had quit her own perch, breathing steadily despite the obvious struggling from her ailment, she whispered a soft «I know» while gesturing toward Mana.

‘’Don’t!’’

Mylen barked back, holding her spear tow handed while offering her back to the trio.

‘’She wasn’t dead in the first place? That’s what you mean to tell me now? That I shouldn’t be ANGRY about this lie? That I shouldn’t be upset about this!? That I should be taking this in stride!?’’

‘’You need to allow yourself to be happy’’

Mana statement reduced the dark maiden to silence, her shoulder dropped while her voice leaked in various grunts, only forming a soft spoken «that doesn’t matter» that couldn’t convince a child.

‘’That doesn’t matter now!’’

His voice provoked a long sigh from his bodyguard; she quickly proceeded to shake her head in protest, fight tightening some more around her spear while Mana glanced at him in inquisitiveness, eyes narrowed and mouth silent, allowing her dear son to proceed while the angel stepped sideway, putting a hand on the wall, rubbing her forehead while displacing some of her long, blond hair away from her face.

‘’Mana is standing before you and me now because she is…. A goddess, perhaps THE goddess if you prefer to think that way’’

Mylen visibly twitched in response, turning halfway to stare at Siegfried and Mana in total disbelief, her face was humid, leaking tears and caught in a perpetual angry snarl that all but screamed disbelief.

‘’Why was my mother was so strong as a mage, let alone a person, even with her failings? I willingly betrayed Zipangu –and you - because she told me what needed to be done, I thought my mother was dead when we went to visit her grave, I truly did, Mylen but she had to prove me otherwise.’’

During his spiel the raven haired warrior had turned completely, deep dark eyes looking straight into Mana that stepped forward, meeting her gaze with a spirit of steel and intention as gentle as a flower; her left arm stretched outward as she embraced Focus, veins lighting up in bright gold as magnificent and brilliant as her eyes while an insect of gold momentarily hovered above her palm before disappearing entirely, along with the added color streaming in her body.
Mylen seemed to have recognized such a thing, her entire body stiffened even more to a painful point as she seemed overwhelmed by shock, staring straight at her best friend and idol who, slowly, smiled back while staying still, shaking the dirt sheet slowly.

Mylen stopped breathing at the sentence and couldn’t bear to look at Mana anymore, her hand went to rub her face as she tightened her jaw shut, rubbing away tears and sweat while struggling to keep her compose as Mother Earth took a step back.

Mylen’s vitality seemed to escaped her as she fell to her knees, spear clinging loudly on the ground as she kept rubbing the middle of her face, quickening breaths and flash of intense, short lived sentiments quickly warped her features, making the trickles of tears escaping her eyes more constant – and then like a dam giving away to pressure, Mylen started crying as softly and silently as possible, concealing her face in her hands while her shoulder shook constantly, carrying soft spoken, sharp plaints; Hadraniel suddenly stepped forward before Siegfried could, wrapping her hands around the stubborn, proud dark bodyguard and hugging her softly, cocooning her wings around her vulnerable body while whispering a phrase «I knew about her, please forgive me» that managed to stab at Siegfried heart who couldn’t tear his eyes away from his mother, the woman was looking down with a solemn expression of her own, yet hesitated to make any move and instead took on a large, large breath and smiled up at her beloved son.

And so everything changed; rage became sadness, doubt were made into certainty and Siegfried couldn’t bear to watch, he gave his mother a light tap on her exposed shoulder and she nodded while he made her way beside the upset bodyguard whose tears were already drying up; yet still hid her face in her hands, Siegfried crouched and hugged her gently on the left while Hadraniel opened her wings, cradling the fragile bodyguard softly while turning toward Mana who, in turn, took to hug Mylen in the back – like so all participants silently waiting, giving the lonely girl warmth, comfort and composition; the shift from overwhelming sadness to complete and total embarrassment was surprisingly quick for Mylen who still kept her hands hiding her face, this time, to conceal the reddening skin. Trembles still rocked her body softly and she nearly leapt to bite at Hadraniel who, for some reason, kept on breathing on her ear while Siegfried seemed to have made himself very comfortable, clutching her softly, resting his cheek on her head…

Her own voice was rocky and uneven by remnant of emotions but Mylen; at least freed her face while wiggling her body as best she could, trapped by three persons wasn’t exactly common…

But all of this warmth was comfortable; it made her feel safe, as much as she hated the idea.

Siegfried stirred himself awake, breaking his seconds-long nap and inevitably shifting away from his dear bodyguard.

She fully turned toward him now while Hadraniel smiled bashfully when she met the young man gaze, her silence wasn’t a closed one, the look on her face definitely showed a hint of confusion, yet she felt proud and happy to witness the closeness of them two.

He reaching for his inside pocket, the same one that held a metallic case holding a red patient, but Myen grasped his wrist, interrupting him mid movement.

It's rather hard to be more fucked than that man is right now, gunning for two of the most powerful people in a setting mishmash where "Yep, you're fucked" is a valid statement for most of the population. Only here we mean it in both ways instead of the usual bad way.

You are correct in that Science and Magic are essentially related, you're just starting from different things.

Magic is essentially an unlimited form of free energy, with limits. In almost every case of it existing in fiction you technically can't run out but there is a limit to how much you can draw off before something bad happens. If they're very feral the monstergirls may not care about gender and rape you regardless.

As far as everyday life is concerned you are correct, it is quite easy to live a peaceful, ordinary life and not experience much suffering personally. It’s an easy thing to overlook others people relationships, Siegfried stared in silence for a few seconds as he eyed his bodyguard; the past days had been incredibly hectic yet, somehow, Mylen and Hadraniel have grown closer right under his nose, what could be happening with Leila? Sylphis? Daiyu? Ame? The recent near-death of the soul link made predictions all the more difficult to pinpoint, perhaps it’s a simple organic thing, doubly so with the high stress situations brought by the war.

Sylphis was hiding beneath the sheet, the only thing popping out of them being her thin green antennas which jiggled slightly back and forth, Athena was sitting looking positively dejected with Emeth by her side, rubbing her back softly, constantly and leaning inside the once-knight personal space; Bletsia was, somehow, still sleeping through the shenanigans while Leila had awaken, yet still remained trapped in a half-sleeping pattern, clutching the blade close, some of it out of its scabbard and, for some reason, what came of the pearly blade grew wings which constantly flapped, projecting potent, constant holy magic as the Demon Lord and undercover goddess kept on staring, not even bothering to observe the three new arrivals.

Something akin to disgusted anger flashed on Daiyu face as she craned her neck upward, glaring at Siegfried in silence while simultaneously summoning such intense disapproval that the young man felt a surge of magic intense and quick like lightning emerge from the Liege Succubus who somehow changed her anger into ‘’dignified displeasure’’ as she rolled one of her long, green line of hair around her finger, staring back at the mage.

‘’The fact that I can’t tell what she is doesn’t mean defeat’’

This statement prompted Mana to lean forward with a sadistic expression that, thankfully, flew away in seconds as she let off Athena, the poor girl stiffening all the way while holding her shoulder.

‘’I told you, I’m human’’

‘’Yes’’

Daiyu turned back, curling her hand to point at the multi-colored woman, dripping with irony.

‘’And we are both pure hearted’’

Sylphis scream interrupted the entire proceeding as she leapt out of the sea of mattress with her sheet the moment young Shieffer snuck to her and patted her head – and rump- before sitting and being subsequently pushed off, the poor girl was red up to her forehead and her long antennas kept on jittering in consecutive nervous twitches while her body trembled in embarrassed anger; her sudden charge however, had sent mister Shieffer off balance straight into the arms of his waiting mother who didn’t wait to open them wide despite the single sheet acting as vestment. Both mother and son fell on the mattress together as Athena let out a satisfied sigh as the released pressure, both were also quickly joined by Leila who, somehow, looked stuck between sleep walking and simple slumbering.

‘’D-don’t…. don’t do that?’’

‘’Like mother like son, I presume?’’

The sheet covering Mana modesty had –somehow- stayed on and she proceeded to hug her son as if he was a gift fallen from the sky while Leila squeezed herself on his flank, muttering something about noise, impeding his progress while simultaneously injecting no end of soporifics emotion in the poor, overworked young man who found his care, pride and amusement disappear under increasingly heavy eyelid, as if the mere act of lying down robbed him of all energy.
