With the Sith Empire losing its war against the Galactic Republic, the Sith Order has become desperate to replenish its numbers. With that in mind, you and several other acolytes were sent to Korriban to face the trials and become Sith. Upon your arrival, you wasted no time in dealing with your competition, brutally murdering two of your fellow acolytes during the first trial. You were injured in the process, however, and avoided fighting the rest of the way to the academy, following a path cleared by other acolytes. Upon reaching the Sith academy, you went to the medcenter and were treated by a rude droid before going to your Overseer. Your attitude put you on the bad side of one of the other surviving acolytes, a Zabrak named Talgur. Given the night to do as you wished before your next trial the next day, you explored the academy, finding a small cantina where you ran into a Rattataki acolyte. A brief discussion quickly turned violent as he hurled you out of the cantina with the force and sent you crashing against the walls. You soon retaliated with lightning in a brutal display of power witnessed by many acolytes. You tormented your foe until a group of red armored figures ordered you to stop. You did as they said, and went to bed as they took the sobbing acolyte away.
>>
>Welcome to Sith Quest

Here is the basic layout. Decisions will be made by voting on various options. Whichever option has the most votes after ten minutes is the winner. All votes are final, so choose wisely. Also, you can add some dialogue to your vote, if you wish. During combat, if you want to say something, just type what you want to say with your vote. During conversations, if multiple people supply different dialogue, I will combine as many as I can so long as they do not contradict one another, in order to avoid a conversation taking several hours.

>Important

The combat system will be dice based and use a d100 system. In order to succeed in those options, one out of the first three rolls must be equal to or greater than the specified number. However, if a number of 4 or lower is rolled in the first three, then whatever you were attempting will go very badly. On the other hand, if a number of 96 or higher is rolled in the first five, then whatever you are attempting will go very well unless a roll of 4 or below occurred in the first three.

Rolls will not occur until the voting time is up and the option for a particular roll has won

>THIS IS A CHALLENGING QUEST, AND BAD DECISIONS WILL GET YOU KILLED.

Nothing like torturing and breaking a rival to help you get a good night's sleep. Indeed, it's the most restful sleep you've had in a very long time. You feel very much refreshed upon waking up, yet, at the same time, you suddenly feel confused.

A gloved hand covers your mouth, and, squinting in the darkness, you see that it belongs to one of the red armored figures from before. Two more stand on either side of the one covering your mouth, each holding long vibroblades. Glancing around, you see that the other acolytes are all asleep, leading you to figure that it's probably either very late at night or very early in the morning.

"Overseer Damul wishes to speak with you, acolyte," says the figure covering your mouth, revealing himself as a man. "He is waiting for you in his chambers."

"Where are his chambers?" you ask once the man removes his hand from your mouth.

"I'm certain you've been there before, acolyte," the man responds. "Head straight after exiting this room, and take a right in the main chamber. Go down the hall and make a left."

You quietly get out of bed, grabbing your training blade and exiting the room. You follow the directions the man gave you, heading straight until you reach the main chamber, then taking a right and heading down a hallway. Upon reaching the end of the hall, you take a left, and walk to the Overseer's chambers. Upon entering, you find him waiting for you.

"Welcome, acolyte," he greets in an even tone. "I'm sure you can guess why I called you here. I heard what you did to Nall. It was brutal, ruthless, and dishonorable."

He approaches you, raising his right hand...and placing it on your shoulder.

"Well done. You acted as a true sith," he compliments.

Unsure of exactly how to respond, you settle for a simple nod. This seems to satisfy the overseer, who takes a step back, turning around.

"Many acolytes are already talking about your little display of power," he informs you. "The Dark Honor Guard tell me that you tormented Nall in front of several witnesses, and even reduced him to weeping and begging for mercy. You broke him in front of your peers, displaying your power in a manner that earned you fear and respect while at the same time disgracing your rival. Excellent work. But, I have not simply called you here to praise what you have done."

He turns to face you once again. "I am going to give you your second trial, now. Due to the power you displayed, I am giving you a more difficult trial than initially planned. Not long after the Republic assaulted the academy, a group of looters snuck into the library. The idiots ignored most of the tomes and artifacts, but they stole two old training holos. We had no need of them for quite some time, but with most of our instructors killed in the siege, we need them to help teach our acolytes. I want you to return to the tomb of Ajunta Pall and recover the holos. Anything else the looters have in their possession is yours to keep."

You ask the Overseer about the looters he expects you to encounter.

"Korriban has been a target for thieves for a very long time, acolyte," he tells you. "Ancient artifacts and knowledge are worth a fortune to certain people. A lot of times, the looters are actually working for Sith who hope to get their hands on powerful objects. Other times, they're working for underworld figures who want to make some credits on the black market. I'm not sure who these ones work for, but it hardly matters. They're typically armed with blasters and vibroblades, so be careful."

You're ready for this. You leave the Overseer's chambers, taking a right and walking down the hallway into the main chamber. Taking another right, you exit the academy, descending down the large ramp and heading for the nearby tomb of Ajunta Pall. Several of the red armored figures, who are apparently called Dark Honor Guards, observe you, but make no move to stop or follow you.

You enter the tomb where you exited the last time, heading down a large staircase and travelling across a walkway that leads to a small chamber. At the end of the chamber is a short hallway, leading into another chamber. With no other direction to go, you cross the chamber and pass through the hallway, entering the other chamber, one smaller than the one you came from. Broken eggs litter the ground, as do the bones of the victims of the creatures that hatched from them.

A scurrying sound catches your attention, and you see one of the wormlike beasts you encountered yesterday prowling on the other side of the chamber, accompanied by two smaller ones. The three creatures stand at the entrance to another hallway, one that continues around a corner. With no other way to go but back where you came from, it seems that you'll have to fight the creatures.

Calling on the force, you extend your hands towards the creatures. Bolts of lightning erupt from your fingertips, flashing across the room and striking the creatures. They cry out in pain and terror, and are immediately silenced as you put just a touch more power into the stream of lightning, ending their lives. Their charred corpses lay smoking on the ground, and you step over them as you travel down the hall.

Coming around the corner, you see another chamber at the end of the hall. And, more importantly, you see a man and a woman, each facing away from you, apparently standing over something. You don't see any training swords on them, so you can only assume that they are looters. With their attention focused on something else, you should be able to take them by surprise.

Calling on the force once again, you extend your hands towards the two looters. Bolts of lightning fly from your fingertips, striking the pair in their backs and sending electricity running through their bodies. In response, they scream, their bodies convulsing as they voice their agony. You hear the sound of objects clattering to the floor, and, looking down, you see a blaster pistol beside each of them. They're disarmed and defenseless, slowly being fried by the electricity you continue to force into their bodies.

You decide not to give them what they want, and instead proceed to sadistically electrocute the pair, letting their deaths drag on as long as possible. Their suffering and misery seems to feed you, you feel more powerful, more alive as you slowly, oh so slowly murder them. Their tortured screams echo all around you, and, soon, they fall to the ground, dead.

With them no longer standing, you can see what they were standing over.

A young, blonde haired human acolyte lies on the ground, clutching his side, his blade laying beside him. He looks up at you, wide-eyed from his spot halfway across the chamber.

"You-you're another acolyte," he states. "That was amazing. Now, please, you have to help me! I can't make it to the academy on my own, please!"

You hear a familiar screeching, and watch five of those sluglike creatures burst from beneath the ground.

You run for the nearest crate, leaping as the woman pulls the trigger. Pain shoots through you as the blaster bolt strikes you in your left arm. You crash to the ground just behind the crate, taking longer than you would have liked to reorient yourself. The woman moves around, keeping her back to the wall, and coming into a spot where she can aim at you while at the same time remain out of range of your blade.

Before the woman can fire at you again, you raise your hands and extend them towards her. Calling upon the force again, you unleash a torrent of force conjured lightning on your enemy. They strike her head on and full force, causing her body to convulse horrifically as she screams in agony. The blaster falls from her grip, clattering uselessly to the ground as she continues to shriek in pain.

A familiar scurrying sound fills your ears, and you see the five creatures descend down the stairs. The screams of the woman draw their attention, and they begin to rush towards her. You stop the flow of lightning as they get closer to her. Her eyes widen in fear and she quickly drops to the ground, scrambling to pick up her pistol. She isn't quick enough, and the creatures begin to rip her to shreds and devour her. The sounds of blaster bolts ring out, and three strike one of the creatures, which falls dead to the ground. The other four rush towards the source, and you see another drop dead halfway there. What follows is more screams as they rip apart the man with the blaster pistol.

More blaster shots follow, and a third creature drops dead. The other two rush towards the shooter. There is a yell and a crunch, followed by the shrieks of the last two creatures.

You want to see what the situation is, and so you peak over the top of the crate. You spot the corpses of the creatures scattered across the room, along with the man and the woman. Other than you, the only living thing in the room is the big man you saw leaning over the table earlier. He stands partially hunched over, a bloody stump where his left hand should be, a vibroblade gripped tightly in his other hand.

"Well, acolyte, that was certainly interesting," he comments. "Don't get too confident, though. This fight isn't over yet. I've killed plenty of acolytes before, and I doubt you'll be able to succeed where they failed."

"Did you kill them while missing a hand?" you ask.

He chuckles. "No, but there's a first time for everything."

"Well then, if you're brave enough, come at me," you tell him.

Holding out your left hand, you fire a quick blast of lightning at the man. He turns to try and take the hit to his shoulder, and the blast causes him to stagger back. You leap over the crate and rush him, blade raised above your head.

He manages to bring his blade up to guard as yours comes down, blocking the strike. The two of you struggle against one another's strength, until you deliver a kick to his chest that causes him to stagger back once again. As you approach to strike at him again, he swings his blade in a wide arc. Ducking under the strike, you rise and punch him as hard as you can in the face, knocking him backwards into the table. The table falls towards the man as he falls on top of it, and he falls to the ground in front of you. You bring your blade down, hard, but he manages to block at the last moment. Putting all his strength against you, he manages to shove you away, causing you to take a step back and allowing him to get to his feet. He lets out a yell and begins to attack.

Before he can even complete his first strike,, you thrust your left hand towards him, sending him crashing into the wall behind him. As he sits there, dazed, you bring your weapon to strike once again.

He manages to swat away your first strike, but a kick to the face from you slams the back of his head against the wall. He slumps forwards, and you raise your blade once last time, bringing it down hard and finishing the job. As his severed head rolls away from his body, you notice two small objects on the ground next to his headless corpse. Lifting them, you are soon greeted by the sight of tiny holographic figures in cloaks asking if you would like to begin the training program. This is hardly the ideal time for that, but if you want, you could hear their teachings.

You decide that this opportunity is not one you should pass up, and activate the training program on one of the holos, setting it atop a nearby crate. The tiny figure grows to human size, though its face is hidden by a cloak. When it speaks, it speaks in a male voice.

"Vibroblades, lightsabers, blasters, even simple clubs, when wielded by a true master of the dark side, any one of these weapons can destroy anyone," he tells you. "The more basic teachings of armed combat instruct duelists to open oneself to the force and allow it to direct you on the best course of action during battle. This is nothing. When one truly becomes in sync with the force, they can act as a living conduit of the dark side, merging with it, honing its power and becoming an unstoppable force. Meditation on the dark side can help strengthen your bond, and the more comfortable you become with a weapon, the more effortlessly you can wield it, allowing you to focus on your bond with the force. These are simple actions, but they can make you far more powerful."

You place the other holo on top of the crate and activate its training program. Like the last holo, this image grows to human size, though, unlike the last holo, the figure in this one reveals herself as female with her voice.

"Physical weapons are crude, able to be wielded by the lowest creatures in the galaxy," she begins. "But the force, that is a rare gift. Few, even among the Sith, realize its true power. Beyond the simple tricks of honing your reflexes, lifting objects, and shooting bolts of lightning, the force has the power to drive enemies to insanity, heal the wounds of both yourself and your allies, cheat death, and even create and shape life itself. Many of the ancient rituals remain carefully guarded secrets, guarded by powerful Lords of the Sith or sleeping in the tombs of the ancient ones. They are difficult secrets to uncover, thus insuring only the worthy will ever wield them. For one willing to face the challenges of claiming them, unlimited power awaits."

Before you leave, you decide that you want to check the corpses of the looters to see if they had any credits on them. You're in luck, ad between the three of them they have about two thousand credits. Whoever they worked for must have paid them part of their fee in advance. Pocketing the credits, you also take the vibroblade, the blasters, and the holos before departing. You make your way back the way you came and head for the academy.

The dark honor guard give you no trouble as you enter, though some acolytes give you fearful looks. Knowing the way by now, you walk to Overseer Damul's chambers, finding him speaking with the other four acolytes from your group.

"Now, you all know your trials. Get going," he instructs, and the others do as he says, leaving one by one.

Nall looks fearful as he passes you, while the Kaleesh gives you a respectful nod and the human simply dashes from the room. Talgur glares as he walks by, exiting last.

"Welcome back, acolyte," Damul says as soon as the others leave. "I assume you retrieved the holos." He examines the vibroblade in your right hand and the blaster holstered at your side. "And quite a bit more, by the looks of it. I did say you could keep anything else, so, these objects are yours. Now, where are the holos?"

With your vibroblade in your right hand and your training blade in your left, your hands are full, so you strap the vibroblade to your back, then use your now free hand to retrieve the holos, handing them to the Overseer.

"Well done, acolyte," he compliments. "Did the looters give you much trouble?"

You describe for the overseer the events exactly as they happened, from the first encounter with the creatures to your final duel with the leader of the looters in that chamber deep inside the tomb. You tell him how you used the acolyte as a distraction to pass the pack of beasts, and how you used those same beasts to slaughter your enemies.

He nods with approval. "Excellent work, acolyte. You displayed power, cunning, and ruthlessness. I applaud you. It seems you have the makings of a fine Sith. But the trials are far from over. You may want to get that blaster wound treated, but honestly, it looks fine."

You leave the overseers chambers, and treck through the halls of the academy. You find your way to the medcenter, where CH-4N is predictably not thrilled to see you.

"Oh, look who's back," he comments, walking over to you. "Two visits in two days, not very promising. I also have you to thank for sending me that whimpering little Rattataki last night. He would not stop crying. I almost disabled my ear functions so I wouldn't have to listen to it. Are you going to come in or are you just going to stand there?"

"Too bad you didn't disable your voice functions," you comment as you enter the room, walking over to a bed and taking a seat.

"Oh, there's that wit again," he replies. "A pity your reflexes evidently do not match it, we wouldn't be having this conversation in that case."

He examines your arm. "Oh, wow, I haven't seen an injury this severe since I treated a child for rug burn. A future Sith who can't live with even the most basic injuries? Should I put my money on the Republic now?"

You ask the droid if you should have anything done for the injury.

"That depends," he says, lifting his hand and smacking your blaster wound hard enough to make you wince. "On a scale of one to ten, how much did that hurt? And I mean physically, not your ego."

You tell him that was about a five,

"Really? Hmm...I was expecting you to cry," he comments. "Now, hold still and try not to cry, that stupid Rattataki gave me enough of that for a few weeks."

He applies a bandage coated with kolto to your wound, stinging your badly. He seems to press on it harder than necessary, and you swear if he could make facial expressions we would be wearing a shit-eating grin right now.

"Now, get going. I'm sure I'll see you tomorrow. Even if you make it through a trial unscathed, I'm sure you'll find a way to injure yourself while eating or bathing," he tells you.

You ask him what time tomorrow will work for him as you get up and leave.

"Any time, it's not like I have anything better to do. You acolytes are rather boring, and most of the droids around here can't speak," he tells you. "Now get out of here!"
