Last time we were holed up in a cave in the north above a small village, we had 2 rats raised, 2 zombies with us in the cave, 12 zombies in the village crypt playing dead, and mumm-ra the strangely inquisitive undead. To the north lies snowy plains and mountains, to the south west a forest infested with spiders, to the east lies field and your old village.

The dawn rises in the cave and you are surrounded by your rats, zombies and mumm-ra

>A) Order any of your minions
>B) Move north south east or west
>C) Attack the village head on
>D) Explore the mountain side
>E) Other

Feel free to abuse the other option, and/ or pick multiple options like A and B or something!

Try to find out if they could muster up any resistance if we attacked.

Your zombies are currently too stupid to make any use of decent tools, you leave them to guard your cave and gather food nearby while you descend into the little village below, the men below recognise you now as the strange traveller although they do not seem startled at all by you. They are mostly militia and men at arms, with only half a dozen decent men defending the town, the rest being women and children. There's rumours of someone breaking into the crypt last night although people notice there seems to be no foul play involved, nothing was stolen and all the bodies are in place. You return back to your cave having gathered information, mumm-ra is sitting waiting inside the cave, while the 2 zombies have gathered some mushrooms, the 2 zombie rats still scuttling around the inside of the cave.

You bide your time, waiting in your cave researching spiritual necromancy, you can feel your power growing now form what it was, you have learned the ability to spirit see, to dethatch your vision from your body briefly to see ahead. Combined with the plagued aura your undead have and your ability to raise small animal corpses you are becoming deadlier. Your 12 zombies still sit silently in the crypt and mumm-ra has torn a rabbit to shreds and is playing gleefully with what little remains of it (too little to actually make any use of)
Sunset is fast approaching

You look mumm-ra over, he is strangely different to the other zombies, well preserved and old, and seemingly smarter and almost sadistic. You give him some rudimentary orders, which he is able to follow perfectly, and test his speech, his newly acquired tongue allows him to make noise, although he seems to babbly incoherently, but only in response to when you talk to him. The other 2 zombies have been diging tirelessly at the back of the cave in the mean time but have found little except a couple more rats which they have killed and brought to you, you naturally raise them, with little difficulty this time. The sun has now set and night falls over the mountain

why would we want to travel a lot when we have an unyielding work force that can work 24/7
>>
>>32142035
Just because there far away dosnt mean that other palidins couldnt just come around, besides if i lived in a fantasy seting and there was the slightest rumor of a break in at the morg id call ever paliden and cleric for miles around, necromancers.. not even once
>>
>>32142049
Because we can have that unyielding work force pull carts at a forced march pace, unmatchable by any pursuit going for the long haul.
Because we can explore the world and find artifacts of great magical power.
Because we can eventually pick up more diverse people if we get good at binding their souls and have skilled undead such as blacksmiths and other professionals to blend in and at least make shit.

It's a good idea, I think. Besides, you never really hear of traveling necromancers. Why hold up in a lair when it can eventually get trounced by some dickhead paladins?
Hide in plain sight.

You return back to sleep in the rocks, your zombies begin digging again at the back of the cave while mumm-ra watches silently at the cave entrance, your nightmares once again play visions of your sons throat being torn open by Gabriels blade while he proclaims it justice, you awaken in a particularly dark and foul mood. The zombies in the back of the cave have dug around a dozen metres in and have hollowed it out slightly, leaving it as some sort of room, sunlight glistens across the cave, you turn to face outside when you are met with surprise, a man is lying face down in the cave, a man you have seen in the town before, he is groaning and twisting, mumm-ra has tore huge chucks of flesh out of his right arm, and broken what looks like one of his legs, holding him down and staring at you.

You were practicing necromancy, Gabriel the arch paladin and his men killed your family and thought they killed you, you washed down stream and woke up, headed north into the mountains, fouind a weird mummy guy (mumm-ra) and snuck into the nearby village crypt and sneakily rose the dead there, You are now in a cave above the village waiting, you can spirit sight away from your body, infect small animals, make people sick via infectious bites

You interrogate the man, kneeling down infront of him asking him why he was up here and what the towns defences are like, what the spiders to the south are like.
"No one would miss a traveller, I just wanted to see if you had anything worth taking" he cries out as mumm-ra jabs his fingers into the mans wounds
"The town has only a small handful of men, were just a small farming village, and the spiders? I don't know! There's just giant spiders in the forests south, I've never been, what are these things?! He sobs in terror staring at the 2 lifeless zombies infront of him gawking at his broken form.

You skin through the spiritual necromancy you have quickly before focusing your energies at him, he begins to twist and twitch underneath mumm-ra who wants with interest. Around his body and being pulled towards you a transparent light blue almost most looking substance begins drawing towards you in a strange tug of war between you and the man after a few more seconds the man lets out a scream before collapsing and the essence dissipates into the air around you. Although nothing happened you have had a taste of hands on spiritual necromancy and feel almost as though you could sense his soul being torn away from his body. Judging by the mans reaction when he was alive he had no idea what your walking corpses were, you begin to wonder if many people outside the main cities have any concept of certain magics.

>>
>>32142411
2 zombies, 4 rats, 1 mumm-ra, and 12 zombies waiting in the crypt

The town contains around 30 people

Currently anything your minions bite becomes violently sick quite rapidly, they also have an aura of plague anything engaging in physical contact with them or close enough to them will become disorientated and sick
>>
>>32142488
Have the rats stay in the guard tower over night then attack at dawn , peasants shouldnt put up much of a fight
>>
>>32142409
This>>32142470

If possible make the rats dissolve into the wells. deconstruction of their cells and what-not.

If they're already rotting, it'll give the water a delicious sweet flavor.

You give the corpse to mumm-ra, he attempts what looks like a grin and begins carefully skinning the man, and slapping on fresh layers of skin which stick clumsily to him, he pulls the mains apart, limb by limb, opening up organs and consuming bits and pieces. You send your rats into the town, they scuttle off down the mountainside and after an hour or so end up the in town, being small they go unnoticed and 1 drops himself into the town well, the other 3 scurry off around the town. By this point there is little left of the man but a smashed skeleton and lumps of red meat, his brain and organs having been eaten by mumm-ra and his skin draped on him in some macabre coat

Your zombies continue to dig, you explore the little area you found mumm-ra, there seems to be nothing in there but some broken empty pots and strange markings all over the wall that seem alien to you, you settle down and begin reading over the physical aspect of necromancy, after several hours of studying you go call your zombies back to the room with the mashed up corpse, and focus intently, the pieces of muscles and flesh that are left move in an almost liquid fashion towards your 2 zombies, pulling onto their form, replacing rotten or missing muscles and flesh, you can now Flesh Meld dead flesh to a minor extent. You attempt a similar thing with mumm-ra, it doesn't work quiet as well, but semi fuses his flesh coat into him, giving him a more "living" appearance, from a distance at least. The sky is turning red once more, as you have a couple hours until sun down, by now many of the residents will have drank from the well and caught the infection of your dying rat.

You take a quick glance back at markings and jot them down on paper, still not able to read them although interested in Mumm-ra.
When nightfalls you take your 2 zombies and mumm-ra down the slopes of the mountain and onto the outskirts of the sleeping town, with 3 rats still in the town and 12 zombies in the crypt behind it, whats your move?

The zombies leave the crypt silently, and you enter the front of the town, the hut closest to you opens its door and a man stumbles out for fresh air before leaning against the wall, oblivious to you and your group, mumm-ra rushes forward and clamps his hand over the mans throat, you then use your spiritual necromancy to attempt to retrieve his soul, the man struggles and vomits against mumm-ras hand (although he seems unphased by this) before collapsing dead to the ground, you waste no time bringing his body back, able to do so much more easily. You enter his house where his wife is asleep, although your presence disturbs her and she wakes, she opens her mouth in a scream before you quickly shove your knife into her throat, she spasms and gurgles, spitting blood before dying. You now have 4 zombies with you.
As you leave the house you hear a scream, and look across to where your 12 zombies were entering the town, they have pulled one of the guards men to the ground, 6 of them hold him down as they claw at his face and belly, ripping him apart, the town soon wakes up, a small handful of men rush out of their houses, although clearly ill, the town is now a mess but you outnumber the armed defenders massively and they are quickly overwhelmed, luckily only 1 zombe and 1 rat was lost in the fight. By time midnight strikes you have raised 9 more zombies, having a total of 24 zombies, mumm-ra and 2 rats

You have laid infront of you 20 women and young teens, surrounded by grisly corpses of their fathers and husbands.

Bleh, no craftsmen?

Tell the woman that you'd like a volunteer for a spell. If none of them volunteer, tell them that we'll pick one if need be and look to the children.

If none come forward, then we go ahead and start tearing out their souls.

We make them compliant by holding the children hostage, and I want our soul tear to do more than just separate a soul from the body. We need to bind it. If they're willing, even if a bit reluctant, it should work out better.

I also really wanted those craftsmen. Unskilled woman and children aren't good for much save for experimentation or having a warm body.

>>
>>32143420
I want to bind their souls so they can't deny us anything and we have full access to skills they gained in life.

You take the children to one side and begin practicing spiritual necromancy on the women, one by one their souls are ripped away from their bodies, you become increasingly frustrated until the last couple of women, you are able to hold their souls infront of youfor a limited time. You can now call back the souls of the recently dead, and bind them to their bodies, its not effective, but it means they retain some memory of their former selves and have better reactions. You now have 16 womens bodies and 4 children left alive.

Give a few to mumm-ra, see if he wants some new tits or something, not sure if we've ched the actual gender, so there's that. Fleshmeld whatever he/she grafts on, then raise the rest.

>>32143493
>>D) Keep them alive?
Keep the children alive for now, escort them back to your lair, lock them up and get some sleep, we can pick up on research tomorrow night or morning.

Not sure if we really want to kill the children, I'd personally rather they get Stockholm's syndrome.
>>
>>32143493

I decided what I want to do with the kids.

We don't need all of them, two or three at the most. The rest we let go into the woods, only to get torn apart by our zombies.

We don't see it, and the three we keep don't see it. Makes us look like more of a good guy.

The three that are left, we lock them up in solitary with no human interaction save for us. Each one will only hear our voice for some time. That kind of isolation breaks people.

You bind the souls of the recently dead villagers back to their bodies, the zombies instantly stand more rigidly and upright, one picks up a hammer on the floors, staring at it with an open mouth. You raise 15 of the 16 women, and attempt flesh melding some into one bigger creature, after a lot of effort it still fails, loosing you 3 undead, although whats left of their twisted form is used to reinforce the damage your dead took. The other corpse is given to mumm-ra who routinely skins it and plays with it, gaining enough skin to cover him completely, although loose and patchwork he is almost human looking.
You keep the children locked in a house, Matilda, Jorge, Adrian and Clairam they are all around the age of 13, give or take a couple of years.
You take residence in the village inn for the night, getting the first decent night sleep in a week, waking to a silent town of corpses and ghouls. 49 zombies, mumm-ra and 2 rats

You send some of the minions to hunt for animals and food, while the rest you give an IQ test too, since being able to bind their soul to their body their reflexes and motor skills have improved, one of them, obviously the town blacksmith, demonstrates clumsily how he can still use his hammer and anvil.
You then go to talk to the children one by one, they all seem afraid of you, Matilda seems more defiant and openly states her dislike for you, Jorge acts bravely but is still afraid, Adrian seems a lot more calm than the others, and Claira was in tears throughout most of the conversation.

North is snowy plains, and giants
South is woodland and spiders

Matilda and Adrian are good. Let them see you set the other children free. have our minions kill them out of sight and out of mind.

Should Matilda and Adrian question why we've had them stay, we say it's because they are both very creepy children, and no more on the subject.

Practice more spiritual.

Scout West. Only thing we don't really know of.

You drag the children out into the street and pull matilda forward, she is kicking and crying as you make her face the other children
"Defying me, and being brave and trying to be a hero, wont help you" you say to the children dryly
Mumm-ra walks forward, wearing matildas mothers face, she instantly begins screaming and crying, Mumm-ra picks her up and looks at her with an almost innocent smile as though playing a game, before he stabs her eyes out with his fingers, she falls to floor shaking and dies. Jorge and Claira burst into tears, Adrian although visibly shaken stares silently at her body. You send the children back to their "cells"
Spending the rest of the day studying spiritual necromancy, by time the sun begins setting you are able to extend your own soul several feet infront of you to manipulate objects. Your minions have attempted to fix the damage they did to the village and have added to the fence surrounding the town. You fall into a sleep and awaken the next day 49 zombies, 2 rats, mumm-ra

You send a small group 6 zombies south to the forests under cover of night, allowing them to scout ahead, and enter the chamber where Adrian is asking about what happened, he seems upset but relatively calm for a child
"My dad left a long time ago, he was a bad man my mum use to say... But she didn't know anything, and now she's dead" He wipes a tear from his eye but otherwise seems unphased. You ask about Jorge and Claira,
"Claira is stupid and Jorge... I hate him, he always picked on me, why didn't you kill him?"

She bursts into the clearing crying and the men leap up, drawing their weapons
"Who are you?!" One yells
Luckily most the men hold their attention on the girl with only a couple keeping their eyes on the overgrowth, Mumm-ra leaps out of the darkness onto one of the sentries and begins wildly beating at his throat, while the rest of the undead shamble out of the bushes and engage, both sentires are overwhelmed entirely before the other 6 men realise whats going on, they turn their attention to the horde of undead and begin fighting, 1 drops his weapon and flees into the spiderwood. The remaining men are overwhelmed almost instantly with only 2 losses to your ranks. The other bandit however is long gone. It is now pitch black and silent apart from the crackling of the fire, you have enough time before you fall asleep too...
