HP: 9/11
PP: 11/11
Stress: 46/100

A knock at the door interrupts your reading, which is a shame. You were about to get to the part where Hermione starts bitching to Harry about Ron being an ass - the sixth book, in your opinion, is the best of the series. You nicked it off a shelf before you went upstairs for the night.

It has been a while since you spent any significant chunk of time reading, but it used to be something you did a lot. You’ve managed to calm down a good deal from your earlier freak-out session by immersing yourself in the fictional problems of a bunch of magical British teenagers.

The clock on the night stand claims it’s eleven. You stretch out a little bit on top of the covers and lower your book to stare at the door. Nobody barges in - which would be difficult, given you have locked the door – but whoever knocked doesn’t say anything in explanation.

>Go back to reading.
>Begrudgingly answer the door.
>Yell, “No solicitors!”
>Other (?)
(I’ll be slow on updating for the next couple hours, but I figured I’d get a jump start on today’s thread. I’ll pick up to normal speeds around 4PM MST.)

You should probably at least look at who it is that’s bothering you before you make any real decisions. Tossing Harry off to the side, you climb off the bed, walk over to and then unlock the door, and then open it up. To your surprise, you find the one bothering you is Rowan. She looks up as if she’s going to speak, but she hesitates for just a moment.

While you have your reservations about Isaac’s daughter, and you don’t want to hear a word out of her if she’s here is to yell at you about threatening her home or whatever, you figure you can’t jump down her throat until she actually does say something provoking. You watch her with a flat expression and wait for her to put words together.

“I’m supposed to ask you if you want to come to school with me tomorrow,” she says, avoiding eye contact. While she still obviously doesn’t like being in your presence, she seems to be making a point of trying to ignore it.
>>
>>32064947

You figure Cassandra put her up to this. It seems like the kind of thing she’d do. Still, given Rowan’s violent reaction to you at dinner last night, she’s almost being congenial by comparison. As for what she’s suggesting, you really don’t know. You kind of fell out of school more and more, until you eventually ditched it all together and went out on your own.

The last time you went to school, you wound up (maybe?) killing somebody. You never actually found out what happened to that kid. You don’t really want to know. Plus, by now, you’re probably hopelessly behind in every subject. You were never a star student, but you’d definitely be completely stupid compared to everyone else. Your numerous doubts and fears weigh against the part of you that gets excited about learning new stuff. (+2 Stress 48/100)

>So? Are you going to? (She only said she was supposed to ask you. She didn’t actually ask anything.)
>That might not be a good idea. Me and school weren’t meant for each other.
>I’d just be wasting everyone’s time.

You really don’t know if this is a good idea. But then again… well, maybe you’d be wasting everybody’s time, maybe you’ll accidentally claw somebody’s eyes out, but heck, it could be fun. Fuck it. It’s just a day.

“Why not,” you say, shrugging. “Wake me up thirty minutes before you usually get out of here.”

Rowan seems surprised with your quick (and positive) response – probably thought you were allergic to school or something. She gives a single nod, and leaves to you to your own devices.

You let her go, and then return to the confines of your room. Huh. You wonder how she’s going to explain you showing up. Schools are OCD when it comes to keeping track of people. You figure that’s not your problem though. Seeing the lateness of the hour increasing, you’re left with, as you see it, a couple options.

>Go to sleep. You’ll need the energy for tomorrow.

You determine that sleeping is more important than trying to avoid nightmares. If you’re going to get off on the right foot tomorrow morning, you’ll need a good night’s sleep. You flip off the lights and hit the hay. As you burry your head in the pillow, you try to fix a vision of shirtless Daniel Radcliff in your mind, in the hope that maybe it’ll help lead the topics of your dreams to completely different, not unwelcome realms. Eventually, you are unable to keep much of anything in your mind and you fall asleep.

You would rather get this over with – there’s no point in drawing it out. You stomp over to the edge of the ship, grab the railing, and look down at the water lapping at the boat’s side.

Just underneath the surface water, you see a body floating. Predictably, when you least expect it, something horrible starts happening. The water surges upward in a huge bulge over the body – the rising tide gushes through the rails and washes you back until you slam into a wall. The water chokes and blinds you. You take a panicked breath, only to have your mouth and lungs fill with saltwater. A hand plunges into the water, seizes you roughly by the shoulder, and lifts you out of the deepening water.

“I’ve got you!” says a helpful figure, silhouetted by the moon. You blink blearily up at him, only to see a vast, black shape rise from the waters behind him. You take no precautionary measures – the course of the dream cannot be changed.

The sky seems to come together into the form of a massive pair of shears. “SNIP SNAP,” says a horrible grating voice, as the blades slide forward for the cut. The figure before you has barely enough time to turn before he is sliced in two. You fall back into the water, along with his now severed arm.

You sink into the cold darkness, helpless, even as the iron smell of blood pervades your nose.
>>
>>32067571

You settle down on the sandy ocean floor with a resounding BANG BANG BANG. Wait. The sound’s not right. It’s almost like someone knocking on a door…

You open your eyes and find that it’s morning. “Wake up, Sierra,” comes Rowan’s voice from outside. You sit up, yawn, and stretch. Not the best night’s sleep you’ve ever had, but not the worst. (-20 Stress 32/100)

You take your time getting ready, and a while later you walk downstairs, switchblade in your back pocket just in case. Rowan’s in the dining room, reading some textbook with a bowl of cereal nearby. After some shuffling around, you locate milk and cereal, and use the mystical items to summon breakfast.

You sit across from Rowan, wordlessly chewing through Captain Crunch as she redoubles focus on the topic of her study. History, you guess from the pictures and maps therein.

Why d’you dye your hair anyway?

Watching Rowan, you can’t help but picture her with long white hair, even if the blonde looks more or less natural. Judging by the Captain America-costume-esque hoodie she’s wearing, she doesn’t seem to have a problem drawing attention to herself, so your curiosity is piqued.

“So,” you say, breaking the silence, “why blonde?”

Rowan shuts her book and looks up at you, a sour expression on her face. “So,” she replies, “why cut your hair like that?”

You’ve learned not to get too riled up when people comment on your hair. Still, you do get a little bit riled up. (+1 Stress: 33/100) You would be more confrontational about it if you knew she wasn’t just trying to redirect attention from how she liked to style her own hair.

Before anything else can be said though, Isaac comes trundling down the stairs, wearing a plain white shirt and a pair of khaki shorts. “You guys ready to go?” he asks, fishing a key ring from his pocket.

Rowan is up already with a backpack slung over on one shoulder, walking toward the door that goes to the garage.

You stand, straighten your hoodie and jacket a little bit, and follow.

The three of you take the jeep and are out on the road. The morning air is crisp and cool, making you glad that you chose to take so many layers.
>>
>>32068259

Isaac re-breaks the silence. “So Sierra,” he says, “I thought about what you said last night. About the powers. I think the best thing for it is to push yourself and find out what you can do. If you want, I could take you with me and Ro when I take her for training after school.”

Rowan, who has her hoodie hood pulled up against the wind, turns a little bit at that. You sense she’s not all too keen on the idea of you getting more crazy demon powers.

“Sounds cool to me,” you say, giving a smug look at Rowan. Too bad she can’t see you. (-2 Stress 31/100) You’re all for having somebody who actually knows something about hellborn to help you figure your crap out. Between then and now, though, is an entire day’s worth of school. You’re supposed to be a Senior this year - it’s late September, so you’ve missed a couple weeks already. On top of that, your school record is probably lost under a filing cabinet somewhere. You did go to school back last year, and you managed not to fail most of your classes, but your continuing education isn’t something you put much stock in.

“So what am I supposed to say when people ask what the hell I’m doing in their classroom?” you ask, curious.

Isaac leaned forward a little bit in the driver’s seat and checked the corners before going past a stop sign. “I know a few of the teachers,” he says casually, “and Cass is the president of the PTA. Wasn’t too hard to make sure you had a seat. We can figure out a more permanent solution later, if that’s something you’re interested in.”

You make a note to yourself to think about that later. In a couple minutes, the traffic thickens noticeably, and Isaac pulls up in front of a high-school-looking building, amongst a sea of other cars coming, going, and dropping kids off. The big concrete sign out front reads “NATIONAL HIGHSCHOOL”, so you take it this is a good candidate of where you get off.

Isaac spares a moment to pull his reluctant daughter in for a hug before she can bail out. You jump out after her, feeling a little light on your feet. No backpack, no books, and not even a pencil, this is possibly the least prepared for public education you’ve ever been in your life.

“Good luck,” Isaac says, out of the car, before pulling back out and driving away.

Rowan checks over her shoulder to make sure you’re following before she sets off toward the entrance. The sheer number of kids with a purposeful walk in their step is slightly unsettling to your laid-back experiences over the past few months. (+3 Stress 34/100) Is this really a place you should be?

Maybe some conversation would distract you from your anxiety.

>Say nothing.
>About what you said. It’s cause I’ve got this thing with scissors. So, why blonde?
>What’s Isaac do for money anyway?
>So you’re like valedictorian miss perfect, right?

I imagine it's a little obvious, silver-haired kids would stand out a little at school. She probably has a clique of friends which we will inevitably embarrass her in front of.
>>
>>32069402

While your current situation reminds you of an average episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, you figure now’s not the time to bring it up – but then again, when would be a better time? “So I'm hellborn, you're demonbane,” you say flatly. “This isn’t like, actually a secret school for astounding youths, is it? I mean, the water polo coach isn’t the creature from the black lagoon and the biology teacher isn’t the Martian Manhunter, right? Because that would be fucking legit.” Your joke starts getting you excited in spite of its implausibility of actually being true. (-2 Stress 32/100)

“Just a regular school with a bunch of regular kids,” Rowan says. She catches a certain detail a moment later, and actually takes the time to look at you, genuinely surprised. “You know who Martian Manhunter is?”

“You don’t?” you ask, feigning disgust, even though such a quip makes no sense whatsoever. You then remember the conversation you were having earlier when you were interrupted. “Hey. About this?” you send a puff of air up at your choppy bangs. “I got this thing about scissors, so I cut my own hair. How about you? Why blonde?” The two of you enter the main building. You have to speak up in order to be heard over the cacophony of voices surrounding you.

Rowan glances back at you, reappraising your appearance. Then, seemingly after resolving an inner debate, she answers your question. “White kind of stands out,” she says, somewhat sheepishly.
>>
>>32070210

Her reply entertains you. “And Captain America: Winter Hoodie doesn’t?” you ask. (-1 Stress 31/100)

“I like standing out,” Rowan says, a little bite in her tone, “but I want people to look at me and see who I am, not what I look like.” Her posture kind of stiffens when she gives this explanation. She must be pretty passionate about the whole hair deal.

You consider her chosen attitude for a second. “Eh. I can respect that,” you say. “Just surprises me, I guess. People dye their hair to stand out - never seen anybody dye their hair to blend in.”

Rowan snorts at that. “Well now you have.”

A couple minutes later, you’re in an English classroom near the front, in a chair next to the girl. Everybody indulges in light conversation and general chincanery until the teacher sets you to task. You look about the environment, out of odds with yourself. It’s as if you never missed a day, but at the same time, you feel completely out of place. (+5 Stress 36/100)

How are you supposed to deal with this? You’ve got to come up with a strategy for the day, lest you be pulled under and something bad happens.

>Control the situation. Make trouble.
>This should be about having a good time. Blast and relax.
>You’ll be fine so long as nobody pays you any attention. Keep your head down.

You decide to take it slow coming back into the scene. Once you can get comfortable in a classroom, then, maybe, you can start thinking about state capitals and what the acceleration of gravity is supposed to be. You get Rowan to borrow you a piece of paper and a pen, which you use chiefly for doodling. There’s a moment at the beginning when Rowan introduces you to the rest of the class, but it’s one of those idle moments that no one really pays much attention to, and neither do you.

While you draw, you sometimes find yourself listening to the class discussing some Shakespearean play. It sounds pretty heavy, with people dying and betrayals everywhere and who knows what. While you do have a couple thoughts on the subject, you limit your input to the discussion to the occasional off-color joke, riding the class vibe to ensure your jabs are always well received and don’t draw down too much ire from the teacher.

When the bell rings, you check your masterpiece, which features a short set of images of an intimidatingly awesome demonic figure shooting at a dude holding a Molotov cocktail. In the next image, the guy is on fire and in horrible anguish, while the demon waits below to drink the delicious tears that cascade off his face. It’s possibly your best work yet. (-5 Stress 31/100)

We can assume that Rowan and Harvey go to decent schools since their parents are well off.

Typically, schools that have kids like them are better in quality than shitty poor kid schools(we can probably assume Sierra went to a shit poor kid school before this one)

An exiting student pauses over your desk, even as Rowan joins the exodus to escape the calssroom. “Oh. You’re pretty good,” she says, glancing at your drawing. She kind of withdrew a little bit once she comprehended the subject matter. “Um. Sierra, was it?” the girl asks. “So how do you know Ro? I saw her dad drop you guys off. Are you her cousin?”

>>
>>32071044
Public schools are free in the US, but they're supported by taxes. Public schools in well off areas can get more cash than schools in poor urban shitholes. Well-off parents are also more likely to give a fuck about their kids' school, and will thus donate extra cash and time on top of that.
>>
>>32071079
B-C student route then?
>>
>>32071044
Public schools are funded by mostly property taxes, so if the school is in a richer area, the school itself has better funding for books, teachers and learning materials.

Shit schools on the other hand are usually in poorer areas, where people don't have many property taxes because they're probably renting.
>>

The girl laughs. “You know Rowan,” she says knowingly.

You pack up shop and take a stand. “Yeah you bet,” you say, ad libbing your performance. “Can’t get her to talk about anything but comic books.” You giggle madly on the inside, but keep your face straight. (-4 Stress 27/100)

“Oh my gosh, I’m right with you on that,” says mystery girl. “She spends like, all day every day with that stuff. Everyone has to have their hobbies, but seriously.”

“Amen to that,” you say, shaking you head as if you’ve tried to convince her of her folly many times in the past, only to fail. However, despite the charade, you suspect that Rowan does not, in fact, spend all day every day reading comic books. She has to make some time for hunting demons and killing werewolves, after all.

Before you skedaddle after Rowan, you take a second to find out the girl’s name is Alecia. She seems like the intelligent type, if a bit dull witted. It wasn’t that hard to fool her, after all.

You decide that school agrees with you, so long as you don’t take it too seriously. Rowan’s next class, economics, is even a little bit interesting, if kind of dense for someone of your educational background. (-3 Stress 24/100) Midway through, you put two and two together. You haven’t been in school for so long that you didn’t really think about it, but this high school seems kind of a lot fancier than you’re used to? The halls are all clean, the teachers look presentable, and most students are actually listening in class. Back when you went to school, most of your teachers spent their time yelling at students or just threw worksheets at everybody and read a book.

However, your enthusiasm wanes once you sit down for Rowan’s physics course. After taking a second to introduce you to her lab mates, you realize that, for some stupid reason, she wound up with a seat at the far back of the classroom, and that you’re stuck with her. She struck you as an eager student, but this kind of thing betrays her inner inclinations. Then again, maybe she really has no care for the sciences.

After the teacher, a short Asian dude who cracks jokes every other sentence, finishes an introduction for today’s topic, he begins writing a bunch of crap on the board in tiny, indecipherable script. It seems whatever it is he’s showing is going to be fundamental to the lab the class is working on, and you would rather you understood it.

Rowan, apparently smug with her foreknowledge of the subject, begins jabbing down notes at blinding speed.

If you want to have any idea what’s going on for the next hour, you’re going to have to figure out what the teacher is writing. The situation makes you angry, if only for its sheer avoidability. (+4 Stress:28/100)

You figure if Rowan knows everything, there’s no harm in taking a closer look. While pretending to look at the board, you actually write everything that Rowan’s writing. Fortunately her handwriting is measures more legible than your horrid penmanship. While you don’t plan on doing anything productive during the lab (except maybe for holding a beaker or something) you at least have a vague idea of what you’re actually supposed to be looking at.

Rowan notices your rampant plagiarism when you’re nearly done. “Excuse me, but what the heck are you doing?” she asks, catching you glancing at her paper. She does so quietly enough so as to not draw the attention of anyone else at the table.

“What does it look like I’m doing?” you reply, smiling lopsidedly.

“Looks like you’re copying every word I’m writing down,” Rowan answers, her expression one of befuddlement.

“Then looks like you be right,” you say, finishing off. Done. You have it all. “And that’s that.”

Rowan gives you a confused look. “Why didn’t you just get it from the board?”

“Well unlike you, I didn’t do the homework, Lady Liberty,” you say.

“No. Seriously,” she says. “I was seriously just copying the stuff on the board down. You just copied my copy.”

You don’t want to get baited into looking stupid. A non-reply won’t cut it here. You look at the teacher as he paces from one edge of the board to another. It’s… that’s not a tie, is it? He walked by handing out the labs just a couple minutes ago – if you could remember back to then when he talked to you for a couple seconds… but you can’t exactly recall. You figure you’ll call her bluff. “Funny,” you say, “but even I can tell that’s just a part of his shirt.”

Rowan says nothing, but looks at you in an odd way that makes you feel a little bit uncomfortable – like she knows something you don’t. (+2 Stress:26/100) Still, she doesn’t press you on the matter, and as Mr. Lao adds more to the board, she says nothing as you continue glancing at her writings. In fact, she kind of seems to kind of slide them out a little bit so that you can read them easier.

Whatever the deal is, you’re not about to complain.

After a while playing with ramps and sliding blocks and calculators, you’re released for lunch by the bell.
>>
>>32074638

“Hey. Next class is room 302,” Rowan says. “I guess I’ll see you there after lunch break.”

You answer her with a noncommittal shrug, and head out before she’s had time to pack up her gear. Let’s see. You’ve got about thirty minutes to kill before you’ve got someplace to be. You look around the halls at the bustling students. The question isn’t is there anything for you to do, it’s what you want to do.

>It’s a nice day. Go outside and shoot some hoops.
>Go hide in the library and continue the doodle you started in Physics.
>Cling to Rowan like a parasite. You kind of want to see what kind of people she hangs out with.

You walk the halls, hands shoved in your pockets. Lunch time and yet you do not hunger. You find you lose your appetite when you’re in weird situations. This situation, you find, is pretty weird. Maybe what you need to do is go outside and beat some punk kids at basketball. They probably don’t know how to play like they do on the street, and you’d likely draw some blood while you schooled them in hoops. Now that you think about it, that probably isn’t a good idea.

No, maybe what you need is some nice alone time. Nothing like some good old antisocial behavior to calm the nerves. You find your way to the library, plunk down in a chair, and withdraw a crumpled sheet of paper from your pocket. You flick out your pencil and get on the sketch you started during the lab. This drawing features a vague shadowy figure with a pair of sheers, watching a pair of distant figures floating in the sky in front of the mirror.

“Hey. You’re Rowan’s friend, right?”

You glance up at the guy with the deep voice. And then up some more, at a really tall dude in a camouflage hoodie and scuffed jeans. He has wavy brown hair and is close enough that you can tell he’s smoking – not in the literal way that you used to, but rather the figurative, much more attractive way that you much prefer. He’s got his backpack in hand, as if he were planning on sitting somewhere else, but instead held up to talk to you.

You shake his hand, trying to keep your cool. It doesn’t really work very well, and a zap of static electricity stings your fingertip when your hands touch, highlighting your discomfort. (+10 Stress 41/100)

Baron shakes his hand with a slight laugh at the shock. “Mind if I sit down?” he asks, rubbing the effected hand.

You wave him toward the empty chair across from you. “Go wild.” You return to your drawing, as if that was what you were going to do anyway.

Baron throws his backpack on the table and pulls out a notebook. “I actually draw a little bit myself,” he says, nodding at your work. “I like your style. I don’t think I’ve seen anyone draw that… scary, before.”

“I just draw what I see,” you say noncommittally, even as you shade in the upper blade of the shears.

“So uh. What’s your name?”

“Sierra. Y’know, like the mountains.” Ugh. You shouldn’t have said that. Stupid. (+2 Stress 43/100) You focus your attention on your art.

“I guess I do know,” he says in response. “How long have you been drawing for?”

“I don’t know. About thirty minutes, I guess.”

“No I meant… you know, how long have you drawn like as in a hobby.”

“Oh. As long as I can remember, I suppose,” you say. “You?”

And so your somewhat halting conversation continues until the bell rings. It is not a relaxing experience. (+5 Stress 48/100) You take the opportunity to leave without justification. “Gotta run,” you say, doing just that.
>>
>>32075810

Baron is taken aback at your sudden departure as he tries to pack his things. “Oh-okay, see you around?”

“Well. Maybe not,” you say. You’re out the door and making your way to the next class before you can hear anything else he’s got to say.

The rest of the day doesn’t go over too bad, except for Rowan’s math class, which is the last one. The teacher is kind of a jerk to you the whole time, and tries to make you stay afterward so he can have a word with you. The only word you have with him, though, is goodbye, and you leave.

You’re on your way to the exit alongside Rowan when a trio of girls walking the opposite way hone in on Rowan. You kind of walk by, not really worrying about it until you realize Rowan isn’t at your side. Turning back, you find the three have engaged her in conversation. You easily listen in, even at your current distance.

Rowan keeps an even face. “I told you Trixy, I’m too busy this semester,” she says, her voice tense.

“Can’t we look at this from my point of view?” says the taller, more imposing one of the group. She has long blonde hair pulled into a pony tail, and her clothes seem sporty. The high socks remind you of soccer. “Now we all know nobody can replace you.”

“Everybody misses you Ro. Please, you have to come back,” says another. You get the feeling that this one’s just a flunky, though – all eyes are on Trixy.
>>
>>32075833

Rowan sighs and moves to walk by them, but they move along with her to block her path. The leader continues speaking, as if to a stubborn child. “Look, we’re all graduating this year, and we’re all busy. But you know for a fact it would look really great on an application, even if your grades took a hit,” she said sympathetically. “I’m not saying it’s easy – if you need more time off, or if you need to miss a couple practices, we can find a workaround –“

Rwan looks between them. “Excuse me guys. My dad’s outside waiting.”

She barges past them, but Trixy reaches out and grabs her shoulder, arresting Rowan escape. “Come on, we’re not done talking here,” she says.

Rowan, scowling turns back toward the group.

You really have no patience for this crap. “Daylight’s burning Rowan, let’s get the fuck out of here,” you say, being sure to be extremely loud. As you intended, these high class soccer punks recoil at your liberal use of profanity just long enough for Rowan to get out of their clutches and jog over to catch up to you. The two of you walk with purpose toward the door before anybody can start making any plans, though you’re on edge. Something wasn’t right back there. (+4 Stress 47/100)

“What the fuck was that all about?” you ask, your tone perhaps more intense than you had anticipated.

“That was Beatrice’ Captain of the Soccer Team’ and a couple of her lesser satellites,” Rowan answers as the two of you barge out the front doors. “She’s obsessed with getting me back on the team.”

“What, they can’t win without you?” you ask jokingly. From how they were acting, that almost seems like it could be the case.

Rowan laughs at the quip as the two of you start walking toward Isaac’s jeep. He waves, and Rowan waves back.

“Nope,” she says in answer to your question. You didn’t expect that to be her reply, and she sees the look on your face, so she explains. “My parents never let me do anything in sports before, but they let me try out last year. I found out too late I would have been better off staying away. When I quit, the team got all persnickety on me. Me playing isn’t going to make them better players, but Beatrice is convinced I’m her ticket to a full ride scholarship. You know how it is.”

You laugh – you can’t imagine yourself winding up in a situation like that yourself. “Man, screw them,” you say. “You should sue. Everyone should sue.” It’s good to have somebody deserving of your directionless hate. (-3 Stress 44/100)

Rowan lightens up at your unequivocal denunciation of the National High soccer team. “Amen to that,” she says, smiling.

“You know,” you say in an advisory tone, “if you can kick their asses out on the field, you can probably kick their asses off-field too.” People would pay good money for the fortune cookies containing your life advice.

Ro furrows her brow at you. “What are you talking about?”

“All I’m saying is,” you say as you come up to the jeep, “is that scholarships are the last thing on anybody’s mind after they’ve had the crap beaten out of them. I’d offer to lend a hand, but knowing me somebody would wind up dead.”

While she does laugh at that, it’s halfhearted at best. Is there something wrong with you for making other people feel uncomfortable? You’re told there is. (-2 Stress 42/100)

Isaac looks back at the both of you as she climbs into the front seat and you into the back. “It’s a miracle, you two getting along,” he says. “Glad to see it.”

“Shut up and drive, dad.”

You snicker to yourself in the back. You get the feeling you’re going to enjoy the rest of the evening.

So, what went well, what didn’t, and what could have gone better? I’m always open to feedback. Next thread will be tomorrow at 4PM MST. I will warn ahead of time on Twitter should something terrible happen.

Additional note: After careful deliberation I decided not to go with the retcon I suggested last thread, seeing that Sierra being honest opened up some interesting plotlines. Rule of fun wins out.

and then have everyone only post the number, nothing else, not even a link back to the vote prompt. Only accept posts made within 5 minutes of the first vote as valid. This makes it much harder to samefag if you are unwilling or unable to proxy it up rapidly because of the 5 minute duplicate post timer. Ignore posts which have things in the email field, such as rolls, because that circumvents the dupe timer. Text in the subject field and name field do not circumvent it, and can be used to make comments about the vote while still doing a valid number only vote. I'm pretty sure pictures don't circumvent it either, but you might wanna check before you decide to use this.

>HMQ style

You mean final destination voting?
>>
>>32076900
pics do circumvent I think

and that isn't HMQ style, that's standard, all quests use this style

links to the post calling for the votes are ok too, just gotta make sure everyone includes one

I specified this as HMQ style because of the disallowing of links to the vote prompt, which is not the standard procedure used in most quests when a final destination vote is called for.

Allowing the link to the vote prompt makes it easier to break the duplicate post timer with invisible characters.

You keep randomly changing tenses. You need to stop doing that.
