You have always wanted to be an emperor. That ambition has burned dimly in the past, tempered by reality. Now the opportunity to realise your ambition has arrived and you are determined not to let it slip. Now is the time to build your empire and become an emperor.

Last Thread: You are the knight, Talon York, and you are an emperor, but not the emperor… yet. Last thread you returned to Harrowmont to manage your empire and ambitions. Currently you are talking with a young man with a strange illusion and talent with the bow.

>Target met

You can’t see through the illusion on the nervous young man’s body but from the way it’s focused you don’t need to. You can’t imagine many races from the south-west with a need to place an illusion on their ears. Combined with the talent at archery and strange technique it’s a no-brainer.

“I have to admit that I’m surprised an elf could somehow wind up all the way to the north-east and then join my army as an entry-level archer,” you say. “What’s your name?”

“Eh?” he responds, staring at you in horror and you raise your palms in a peaceful gesture.

“I have nothing against elves. I just saw through your illusion,” you say. “So, what’s your name?”

“O-oh, it’s Tarfinn,” he says. “Um, I’m actually registered as Finn Tarrn but I just made that up.”

“Using a great deal of imagination, I can see,’ you say, unable to help yourself. Finn winces, looking obviously embarrassed. “I didn’t mean to pry, I mostly wanted to confirm that you weren’t hiding anything serious. If this is all it is, you can go about your duties, soldier.”

You gesture a lazy salute before turning to leave. Before you can so much as take a step Finn shouts to stop you – he seems to be good at mustering his courage when your back is turned.

“Imperator Talon, I want to be your squire!” he shouts, despite the fact you’re maybe two metres away from him in an enclosed room. “I can keep up with you in combat. I can use magic. I can learn strategy and tactics. I can clean your room. Polish your boots and armour. Keep diplomats busy. Distract women while you’re busy with another one. Cover for you when you’re sleeping in for a meeting. Teach you elven techniques. Umm, umm…”

You stare at Finn, bewildered by both his weird list and the fact he wants to be your squire – or whatever you would call the position given you’re the ruler of an empire. You’re not really certain.

It deserves serious thought, though, given the lad’s talent. Depending on his competence he could really help you and possibly even more later when you need to deal with the elves themselves.

Just accepting him may not be wisest, though, even if you’re quite certain Finn has a level of talent every other potential candidate for squire has lacked. Perhaps you could test him first…

her elf call to fame is a high percentage of transmuters born to them.
Humans can be transmuters too.

Also, we most likely can tell race by the physical appearance. You know, skin/hair/eye color. Ear shape and length. etc

Aefir are basically enormously powerful magic-users and transmuters. You don't know how regular elves compare or if there are other sub-species of elf.

I'll be going with the spar choice for now as doing multiple will slow things down a little. You can assume the others are down behind-the-scenes.
>>
>>32050757
Most racial magic seems to have some differences. Dwarfs, vamps and dragons can't summon familiars even though their magic is very similar to human sorcery or transmutation.

Well, an adult dragon is at least two centuries old and strong enough to stomp most daywalkers (save truly powerful ones like Volante and Blackwater) and Gods. Younger ones (which is most nowadays) are a little weaker. And, of course, really powerful people like the archmage, Gnome, Great Knights etc can stomp most regular dragons. Feldragons and helldragons are academic as the only remaining ones are absurdly powerful

You know, i am not sure if i started the whole "they are not gods, just ascended humans" thing or one of the first on the bandwagon (its been a while).

You find a large empty room underground and decide to spar with Finn to test his melee ability. He ducked off to fetch his full equipment and you’ve been meditating her since. You’re genuinely interested to see how an elf might fight you, particular as he’ll likely have to use some magic to keep up.

Finn ducks into the room, a scimitar at his side with an elegant black-wrap around its hilt. You stand and gesture to him to take up a position opposite you while you ready yourself – you’re not too worried about how dangerous it is to use real swords in a fight like this. You’re skilled enough to hold back and he’s not talented enough to truly threaten you.

Taking up a guard stance with one hand outstretched towards you, Finn slowly edges towards you as you maintain the defensive. Your enormous tower shield and armoured bulk is no doubt intimidating to him, given the size difference, but if he can’t overcome this then there’s no chance of him being your squire.

>Target not met

Your first mistake was assuming that Finn would fight you using a style similar to Salamander’s, simply from the way he used his weapon at first and the geographical closeness of her old hunting grounds.

As Finn, suddenly darts around to your left, trying to shift around your shield you clunk backwards and try to sweep him with your sword. He comes to a swift halt and his scimitar blurs towards your sword. Your clash of metal on metal resounds through the room, echoed further by the boom of your plated boot on stone as you quickly advance on the boy to bash him with your shield. You’d expected him to immediately slip into your guard, taking advantage of your sword leaving an opening and using his speed to his advantage.

Instead he rolls around the arc of your shield bash before snapping up onto his feet with a heavy chop from his blade. A very amateur move, but effective simply because you’d foolishly positioned yourself as though you were fighting a much more talented opponent. The blade bounces off your armour and you waste no time immediately backtracking and cleaning Finn up with your shield. His balance thrown by the failed attack on you, he’s knocked aside by the blow.

Your second mistake was under estimating Finn’s talent at fighting – he had successfully put two arrows into a target at medium range while firing at a rapid rate, that his melee ability would be that much worse was a foolish assumption.

You pause momentarily, raising your guard while waiting for Finn to stand back up. There was a rush of magic that started the instant Finn took the blow and it fades by the time he edges close to you again. His stance, faltering at first, straightens up and he tries again but instead attempts a feint that will let him slip around your right-hand side and leave you open underneath your arm. You play along, wanting to see if he can capitalise on the opening but he predictably attempts to thrust in between the joints of your armour between your right arm and torso. As his sword scrapes against the secondary plates within the armour, supported by your maille, you clap your right arm shut, trapping his blade and attempt to backhand the elf.

Instead, you strike nothing but air and the momentum of the move makes it easy for Finn to trip you and leave you on your belly. You immediately stop your fall and roll yourself over, your strength making it an easy feat despite your armour. Finn’s blade, not-quite-lightning fast, strikes the stone where the opening between your helmet and armour would have been.

Your third mistake was… well, things didn’t get that bad. If you had to pick one, it would be leaving the very possibility open.

As your rise to your feet, Finn snaps forward in an attempt to stop you. Against most other foes, this would result in his victory – you had risen too close to him and in an awkward position with your equipment. If Phrace or any of your heavy knights had ever done something this foolish, you would have slapped them upside the head with your gauntlet.

Unfortunately for Finn, you’re not Phrace or one of your knights. As the elf closes, you drop your equipment and engage hand-to-hand. You bat his sword to the side and grab him by the neck with your other hand, raising him off the ground. The next step in a fight would be to either through him to the side or into a hard object or to deliver several hard blows to his chest to disrupt his breathing further. Instead you simply release him.

“Spar’s over, Tarfinn,” you say gruffly. “Damn good fight.”

Recovering his breath, you don’t get a reply for some time. You slip out of the room to fetch some water and when you return he looks as good as new.

Something that will come up in future sessions.

>1.

“So, why do you want to be my squire, Tarfinn,” you ask, leaning against the floor as the elf slakes his thirst.

Gulping down the water, it seems that other than being thirsty Finn isn’t hindered at all despite the recent exertion. You felt that same magic from when you struck him with your shield earlier when you dropped him – in fact, that same magic seems to just linger on him. You had thought at first it was just a natural thing for him but it had increased ever so slightly in the fight. Regeneration of some sort?

“I want to be somebody who can say they really mattered,” Finn says suddenly, shaking you from your idle thoughts. “When I return to my home, when I talk to my children – I want to be able to talk about things they think actually matter. I just… I don’t want to merely exist. To just be one of the people.”

He looks up at you with a determined face. You recognise the look and the feelings – you’d felt the same things when you looked his age. You don’t know if he had the same difficulties you did when you were even younger but you do know his feelings about mattering, about achieving something of note are what drove you to where you are now. If he can channel those feelings like you did then perhaps he can achieve just like you have. You can even guide him there.

Do you accept Tarfinn as your squire?

“I get it, Tarfinn,” you say quietly. “Let’s try some tactical exercises next…”

It’s several hours later, over some lunch, that you break the news to Finn.

“Really? I can really be your squire?” he asks eagerly.

“Yes. I don’t know how many things from the list you reeled off earlier I’ll have you do but you’ll be my squire from today onwards,” you say, taking a break from your steak sandwich to talk.

Finn wolfed down his lunch, thanking you profusely between nearly every bite and it was afterwards when you were drinking some ale and talking about some random topics that you asked the elf how he got here.

“Oh, well, I was travelling with a group of travelling soldiers,” he explains.

“Mercenaries, you mean,” you say. “You fought with the RSK?”

“No, no, not mercs – they didn’t fight for money,” he says, shaking his head wildly. “Hartman always talks about wanting to find a place he can call home and be a knight in or something.”

“Travelling wannabe knights then,” you say lightly, waiting for Finn to angrily correct you.

Instead, “Yeah, pretty much. We joined up with you at my urging, though it wasn’t hard to convince Hartman given your, uh, origins. Sir,” Finn says, his voice becoming very uncertain towards the end. You wave off his concern and he continues, Mind you, I’ve never met any knights that favour the bow so much. Hartman always talks about it being ‘the true weapon of gentlemen’ and such. Seems a bit silly to focus on the weapon and not the result.”

“Welcome to nobility and aspirationals in general,” you say, frowning. “Say, is your group here in Harrowmont?”

“Should be. They were even watching you shoot earlier,” Finn says. “Might be a bit worried about me.”

You get Finn to collect Hartman and his band of would-be archer-knights and meet them at the now-empty practice range. There’s some greeting all around, and you have them shoot for you. Between their attitude and talent with the bow, as well as the ease they show around you despite your rank, it’s clear these men and women are veteran soldiers.

You watch as one of them uses some magic to steady her bow so she can fire accurately as she runs. Another easily replicates the magicks your arcane archers usually use with a mundane bow. Not only that, but several of them are obviously suitable for command roles and they’re all trained with the sword. If you want a solid foundation for a ranger order, even if you supplement it with your most talented arcane archers like knightly orders do, then these soldiers are your best bet.

“I have to admit, Imperator, your shooting technique is impressive,” Hartman, an old soldier that’s clearly maintaining his health with magic, says to you. “I’m talented with a bow, I’ve been shooting since I was little after all, but even I would have trouble getting five dead-centre bulleyes in a row. You fire every shot so smoothly it’s almost as though you know it’s already going to hit before it strikes the target.”

“Technically, it’s because he probably does,” comes Vad’s voice from behind you. “It’s an old Pharos technique, though I haven’t seen a fox able to do it as smoothly as Talon does.”

“Pharos? I was going to suggest it was from the god-knights of the west,” Hartman says. “I saw one shoot in a competition in Sortaine a decade ago. Not as impressive as our Imperator, mind you, as he was a bit slower – he shot huge steel bolts, though. The way he described it was exactly like I was suggesting.”

You raise an eyebrow at both suggestions, Finn standing next to you looking at you in wonder. “While I do visualise hitting the target in my head, that’s not exactly a groundbreaking thing. I don’t even know where I picked it up, though I do remember being a good archer even before using it.”

You banter with Vad and Hartman a bit more over the technique, and although yours, the Pharos and god-knight technique is the same nobody is certain whether there is some possible central origin.

>Last bit of discussion re. ranger order. Feel free to propose some questions to ask Hartman if you’re uncertain about him or his men.

I'll call a vote on any options proposed regarding this shortly and do one last post in the thread. Sorry this is both a short thread and with slower updates.

Ranger Order sounds like a good idea.

Few things to clear up: I'd like to speak with our top bro Moss to get his thoughts/make sure he's on board with a ranger elite order.

After all, Moss has been in charge of all our arcane archers/longbowmen so we don't want to step on his toes.

The ranger order should probably be an independent entity on paper, but it would report to Moss when deployed in an army.

Maybe also speak to our Knight Order grandmasters to let them know this is a thing and that they should recognize them
>>
>>32052316
Ask them how good their survival skills are. If we want to go full ranger we will need someone who knows the basics.

The issue behind the ranger order was always that you didn't have any soldiers competent enough to maintain one. Many knights use equipment but the masters are usually very capable warriors without it.

Somebody mentioned something about one of Neir's sisters I don't remember though.

>Somebody mentioned something about one of Neir's sisters I don't remember though.
You told us they were very competent in battle, and that RSK nobles frequently use bows. 1 + 1= 2
Plus, people have been expressing interest in meeting the rest of that family for a while now so it would tie up some loose ends. Oh well, we can invite anyone applicable over anyway

>>32052424
>You watch as one of them uses some magic to steady her bow so she can fire accurately as she runs. Another easily replicates the magicks your arcane archers usually use with a mundane bow. Not only that, but several of them are obviously suitable for command roles and they’re all trained with the sword. If you want a solid foundation for a ranger order, even if you supplement it with your most talented arcane archers like knightly orders do, then these soldiers are your best bet.
This bit is a bit blatant though. I mean, its a whole paragraph basically saying how these random people we just met are perfect for the job.

Well, it would have been true about any person competent enough for the position. The alternative was to continuously refuse suggestions to set up a ranger order (or imply it's a bad idea as is) or give you ten guys who could form the order and train the rest without enraging the knightly orders (too much). Everything else would have been mere sophistry as far as differences go.

>tenatively set-up ranger order

“How are your survival skills, Hartman?” you ask.

“As good as any travelling soldier’s,” he says. “The worst we’ll get is recognising regional flora and fauna but that’s mostly a matter of finding villages that might help us.”

You go through some more little things, including where most of his band of ten are from. The two nobles in the bunch make for an interesting story.

“It’s easy enough to become a knight in most places. But specialising in the bow? Not so much. None of the nobles were born in the RSK where it’s consider okay to do so, though I dare you to find a knight doing as such rather than the nobles themselves,” Hartman says.

“Finn told me about your interest in becoming knights. I’ve had my own thoughts on the matter and you might just fit the bill,” you say. “I need to talk with a few people and put things in place, but try to stay in contact. You might find yourself in somewhere a little more interesting than Harrowmont.”

“You say that like it’s not interesting, Imperator,” Hartman says, smiling slightly as he shakes your hand. “We swore our fealty so we’ll serve you. Regardless, I sincerely hope to hear more positive news from you.”

Afterwards, you slip back into the keep with Finn and Vad, realising you’re going to have to explain to people what the elf is doing.

See the thing is, the players did in fact come up with numerous suggestions to how we could either acquire the trainers, or even entire orders. I'm just stating that in the future I would prefer that one or more of the players efforts to find a creative solution succeeds rather than they all get rejected, and having coincidence save the day.

None of them would have made any real sense. There's reasons I don't want to use the RSK and Neir's sisters as the source, the merc suggestion may have worked but still has issues (like magic archers being outlandish, plus Talon's merc contacts are terrible as he worked for the RSK army the entire time as a general) and this basically is internal candidates.

Personally I find it amusing that this is the convenience being complained about, as it's really minor in the scheme of 'things I've made very convenient to keep things going'. Arguably it could have been better but it's not something I'll lose much sleep over - elf archer travelling with skilled archers from the south-west isn't too outlandish and Hartman gives some useful links to Malataine and the Astral Adepts I intend on exploiting.

>>32053025
Eh, I can understand his point of view. It's just that it's always more complicated behind the screen. Most of my prep this week has been laying out my plans and trying to cram so many of them together - hence elf squire (to cram the elf character I need for a planned plotline together with the squire you guys want) and the travelling archer-warriors from Malataine (this combines a few things). It's arguably overly convenient and I'll wear the complaint but I can live with that.

Part of it is also the excellent story telling so far by aspir. he has raised the bar. If this was most other quests nobody would bat an eyelash here

The crunch is pretty smooth. It's actually just planning all the other events, especially pacing. Like this thread where I had to pick a bunch of things and put them together. Kind of was a bit of disaster in terms of scene transitions and wasn't exactly helped by my not being on top of my game today.

There's a lot of stuff I'm planning to happen over the next in-game year or so. Pacing is the main issue (especially because some of it will be pretty crazy if I have it all happen too closely together).
>>
So how old is our squire in human years? Do elves age slower? How's that all work?

Also his fighting style seems familiar or maybe I'm just losing my mind
>>
>>32053609
So Pacing is your main foe today then.

Eh, I think all things considered things are paced nicely. I mean, I haven't been disturbed or anything by it.
I am sad we couldn't host a huge 'Taour's dead, yay' feast, but hey, public order comes first.

My main goal, or at least, where I hope to steer things, is to fix public order to at LEAST Moderate on all our lands. Hopefully, civic improvement, and vampire executions (and big speeches) will help with that.

>Picking up pieces and putting them together was the hardest, not being on top of game.
Hey man, don't be too hard on yourself, I know exactly that type of pain. So many people throwing in all sorts of ideas that may or may not conflict with things in ways they can't know about, so you have to try and work it all together into something coherent.

It's not easy. One of the hardest parts of being a QM.
But I think you do it quite admirably.

>>32053921
Well, depending on how organised I am this week (as a lot of stuff I'm putting off is numbers heavy among other things) you may get the Ahm visit (and Alyce) next session or the one afterwards (assuming you guys don't vote it down for some reason).
>>
>>32053871
>I know. I need to think hard on that.
From my vague and probably inaccurate memory of medieval history, nobles fighting on for other countries wasn't that uncommon. Felix might encourage them to hang out with us for any number of political reasons.
>>
>>32053961
Or just to gain firsthand knowledge of how our military reorganization and new equipment works and how effective it is. Espionage under the pretense of assistance is a very old trick
>>
>>32053951
Yeah. Though I imagine fitting in FR points, Vampire, Foundry, construction, research, military and finance and Ahm would be pretty hard.

Though I'm honestly the most interested in that right now. Hah.

WEll, if I wasn't organised enough to do the empire management stuff (or not in the mood) I'd probably do the Ahm stuff and have some of the decisions be retroactive in effect if necessary. Some stuff, like the vampires, isn't going away any time soon, though so it can be put off for a little bit.
>>
>>32054122
>Ahm stuff

Thinking on it I'm honestly unsure thinking on it who we should bring with us there. I imagine Gnome would be useful but it leads to high odds of her and the elf fighting. Undine is a no. Salamander..maybe?
>>

Lynn's probably a no go unless she wants to be forthcoming about her heritage.

Vad probably can't go because of fox alliance secrecy

Mal, Felix, and Elf Squire?

Gnome would be very, very unhappy if you went to Ahm without her. Undine you at least have a good reason to keep behind but Gnome doesn't (unless you can think of a good one).

Mal would want to bring along Sala mostly for reasons of pride. Ahm's the capital of magic and summoning Sala was a big achievement for him.
>>

>>32054416

Could you remind us whether Alyce knows we have Sala summoned or not?
>>
>>32054349
Oh dear.

>Vad/tsucchi=fox so no
>Caitlin=dragon so no.
>Undine=source so no
>Gnome=Really really angry so maybe.
>Salamader=Well can't see much reason not to since she doesn't seem to care about the past. Though it might reveal more about us.
>Mal=Well mage so he might do well depending.
>Elf=Could be hilarious depending on how Mercie reacts to another elf.
>Felix=Why not?

That leaves Felix, A random elf, and mal with two maybes. That's not a lot of protective power to be in territory like that.
>>
>>32054416
>Gnome really wants to go
Heh. Because of what we said, or because she wants to see old faces?

Funny how she mentioned how 'selfish' our elf friend is, I find.
>>
>>32054455
>Bringing Felix
More like why.

He'd rather be training then come with us on a diplomatic mission.

We'll just take Gnome, Mal and Salamander. that's plenty. I'd say to bring Undine, but people seem against that for some reason.

Her justification would be about needing to protect you but she would also want to see Alyce again (remember, she did just admit to you that her behaviour towards Alyce wasn't merely friendly).

>>32054450
Merce never met her and you didn't mention her but that doesn't mean Alyce won't know. You've used Sala in some very flashy ways.

>>32054497
Undine was dead and summoned by the Source. Alyce and Merce know her by sight and will also know something is up if they see her serving you.
>>

Well because she is a undead water elemental that they where friends with and know she is dead. Which means they know we have a source the moment they see her.

Yeah, people seem way to into keeping some stuff secret though. Everyone and their grandma must know by now that we have some sort of explosive fire magic, earth magic, and water magic by now.

I look forward to when the secret is blown.

So Asp. I remember you telling that griffins are rare what is our chances gettin our hands on few of them so we can have a hobbie for Talon as a breeder of those majestetic beasts.
I wonder if anyone in our court has some idea or info where we might find them.
Finding them would be an awesome side quest during some downtime

Strictly speaking, griffins don't exist naturally anymore (though there may be a few spirit beasts that appear similar to them, of the sort you found travelling down to the PoP). That doesn't mean they didn't exist and they might not reappear though, but it would be a mystery as to how and when.

In other words, it's on my brain and I'm undecided as to how you might be able to have them. Whether I limit them to having to be patterns/summons or give you the ability to somehow reintroduce them or find them I don't know.

So clearly what we need to do is have Talon do mass amounts of hallucinogenics and we'll have our Griffon.

I think a lot of people would be behind the idea of reintroducing them into the world. Especially the breeding idea. I mean Harrowmont has that cliff behind it that would be a pretty awesome Griffon Roost. But yeah I can see the issues you might have with that if you agonized over the squire so much I can only imagine the depression and despair you would have spiraled into if we had said Nah we don't want that.

I think it would be a fun side quest thing during downtime. Look into leads from books in that library, put our ear to the ground in locales, ask some mages who might specialize in olden day creatures. It would be fun, but I'd be happy with any sort of inclusion
>>
>>32059744
I'm thinking we could use patterns for this. Mean it's one thing to find a griffin. But figuring out how to build one is much more amazing.
>>
Rolled 6

>>32060025
well am the opposite, I'd like the real thing more. For some reason the patterns dosn't give me the hard on some of us are getting. Also patterns seem to me like some kind of robots, while I imagine Talon to have a great noble and intelligent beast made of flesh and bone with a real soul.
For some reasons I imagine the difference between real griffin and a pattern griffin to be just like the difference between a pure elemental and normal elemental. So I'd rather bang Gnome than a lump of rock. But thats me
>>
>>32060220
Patterns are just using a object as a center to make a magical summon. So they can be flesh and be built anyway needed. Robots would be more constructs. It's pretty much just a copy of elemental creation in a way.
>>
>>32060602
At least I think so with my half dead brain.

>A shell is just the physical representation of the pattern, but it also needs to sort of match the pattern itself

Sounds to me like that.
>>
Rolled 11

>>32060739
>>32060602
Yeah I get your point, also checked the bastepin, but still it leaves a bad taste in my mouth, it's my personal bias, idk why but patterns just dont feel so lifetrue to me, more like objects and an alternate for the real deal.
In the end its up to Asp. to work it out as he sees fit or there will be a poll and I will accept the result of either of them. I just really want griffins to be a thing
>>
>>32061059
I kind of want to mix both if they are a thing. Pattern based ones can be mass produced which has uses for building corps.

I've also got an idea for mageplated constructs maybe. Though to be honest we really don't know how our mage situation looks right now. Mainly because Taour's mage situation and all.
>>
>>32059744
>>32060025
>>32060220
I am wondering if a pattern can have the ability to reproduce. Like, create a human pattern and have real regular humans born from it reproducing rather then more patterns.
>>
>>32062390
Theoretically I think it should be possible. Just pretty much impossible to pull off.
>>
>>32062428
ah, the old "everything is possible with magic... just many things are impossible difficult for YOU to achieve"
>>
>>32062465
I think it's more a case of "It's possible to solve world hunger theoretically." Now write down exactly how to do it and enact it.
>>
Hmm. You know rereading the old threads is kind of interesting. Mainly because paying attention Aspirational pretty quickly added in the Fire/Power/Death threeway choice around the point Gnome showed up. The first decision seemed to be Fire. Then we choose life at the Fort. Then we choose fire at Blackwater.

Though I haven't really checked a good chunk there to see if there was any decisions effecting that afterwards.
>>
>>32062821
Okay so far I think we choose.

Life/Life/Fire/Fire.

First Life was with Gnome when she asked us what we want and we said to destroy and create better life. Second life was when we choose power during the fort siege. Then right afterwards we choose fire when we choose that the scars of battle would make them stronger. Then the last one I remember if fire with blackwater.

The four paths are basically:
Life/Fire
Knock-downRebuild/Power
Ruin/Death
Balance/Water

The only one you don't have any points in is Ruin and there's been 7 path decisions (maybe one less? I know there were 2 decisions that affected more than one path).

>>32059115
I'm pretty sure one of the sisters has mentioned Sylph being about 500-600. Also, Gnome popped up shortly after Kushan was dealt with and because she was the first sister she also had some development time so she wasn't active until about 1200PC (start of the Golden Age).

I won't be around for very long right now but if there's any questions then post them here and I'll either answer them later (about ten hours from now) or in a pastebin posted on Twitter.
>>
>>32066756
We should try and get some death magic up in this bitch. that could be really fun.
>>
>>32066756
It's interesting to me that life and fire are so connected. I'm also amused I'm missing 3 of them though I only read though half the threads.

Though just out of curiosity which has the highest number of points? Some of the options can be read two ways sometimes. Though I"m going to guess balance is pretty high considering a lot of write in options that win choose one then add some balance to it.

The top 2 are currently tied. I won't go into more detail than that right now.

Also, I'm using fire in a creation sense which is also why Power was healing at Castle Gimbon rather than Fire/Life - Fire is more about creating than restoring.
>>
>>32067038
I am hoping we can pull our own process out with that combo. But it also seems like a good dynamic as well as maybe helping us out with Raphael later on. Astral life might win us some points for being aligned with it's element.
>>
>>32067121
I think it's interesting how you're doing our astral tree thingie.
Where most would lay out the upgrade branch for us, you just make it based on decisions we make.

In other quests, that is a recipe for paranoia. But you seem to make it work.
Good job.
>>
>>32067121
I see. Another thing I was just randomly thinking about with my half dead brain. How good of a healer would Sylph be compared to Undine? If I remember right the sisters mainly explained her as a teloportation healer type. Which makes me curious if she would do any better when Talon is in his half dead states that he seems to get in every other week.
>>
>>32067180
>that is a recipe for paranoia

We know there is a route that ends with tossing Gnome into the ground and Trying to drop Salamander into a volcano. So I"m still pretty paranoid.

>>
>>32067432
That route honestly feels to me more like full Balance. As in nothing but balance so the elementals cause him to have a OCD seizure. Though this is just a guess on how Aspirational explained that route.

Also guys I noticed something interesting for Talons development.

Salamander has Weaponry 3, Gnome has Martial arts 3 and Our elven friend offered to teach us Elven tricks. So from the looks of it training wise we can go Bow,Hand to hand, Or weapons will ease.
>>
>>32067432
Whats hilarious is I can see Talon later on claiming to be a god. That is once he owns about half the Continent or so. Though I couldn't see him ever getting that bad.
