I do have a question. It's hard to tell from the writing but is Claire older than Vance or is Vance the older sibling with a special younger one that got all the attention? Professor Fir greets you warmly on the PC as always. You catch up with chit chat for a bit. Not like you're going anywhere until Clair gets back with those badges. You explain about what happened with Devon.

"I'd be happy to give him an examination. I've never actually seen a Houndoom in real life before. Nibbles is absolutely welcome too. I have a new assistant with a bit of an obsession with ancient Pokemon, so he'll have plenty of attention."

With that settled, you let Robin and Jeanine take their turns. Robin gets her Magikarp back in exchange for her Golem. Jeanine just talks to the professor about her new Pokemon. You haven't actually seen them yet.

This Pokemon center has it all. Vance and Jeanine are picking out a tent. Huh. Good for them. You see Robin stocking up on a lot of sunscreen. She did say that Sandorp is surrounded by sand, so you shouldn't expect much shade.

Clair comes back. It looks like she ran fast. Now that you think about it, she probably doesn’t run much. Your group is pretty fit. Vance is almost unrealistically muscled, Jeanine has those abs and cut arms, even Robin has those firm walking legs and prominent collar bones.

Let’s face it. Clair is a pasty basement dweller.

Why is she looking at you? Oh! You hope she didn’t hear that. She’s supposed to keep out of your minds, but from your trip in her head you know she plays fast and loose with rules.

She doesn’t seem like she did. She hands you your badge. It’s got a vague outlook of a person and a vague outline of a Pokemon inside of it. “It’s the Connection badge. It symbolizes the strong understanding you and your Pokemon have.”

Vance almost slips. Clair looks up at you in surprise before she puts her mask of not-giving-a-fuck back on.

There's an awkward silence between everyone.

Clair breaks it by laughing. "Fine. I'll come if you want me to so badly. Just to Sandorp though. You don't need to hurt your brain with some pop-psychology. From now on, leave the heavy mental lifting to me."

Jeanine gives her a hug, followed by Robin, yourself, and even Vance.

"It'll give me a chance to try something I've been working on anyway. I have to go talk to Judy again. Meet you all here in an hour?" She runs off without waiting for an answer.

the reasoning behind my vote was it sounded feminine and what thistle actualy is its a flower with thorns around the flower itself i think it works with the fact that that its a bulbasaur which can be considered cute to some like a flower and that it is on the track to being a bad girl who can cause pain via loss just like the thorns can cause pain. quite thaught out for whoever came up with it.
