Characters and Gunpla: http://pastebin.com/tNr0mtYH

You are JACK FOULKE, an amateur Gunpla Fighter with dreams to make your own mark on the Gunpla battle scene!

Right now, it's the night before the start of the Gunpla 3v3 tournament you and your friends have signed up for, and to say that you're anxious is a bit of an understatement. Sure, you've participated in tourneys before, but usually it was small, local stuff that Mason organized himself. The tournament you were going to fight in was an honest to god, Bandai-sanctioned event.

You're so amped up that you can't even find it in yourself to sleep. You gotta find something to keep yourself busy.

>Watch some Gunpla battle replays. It'll pass the time and hopefully you can learn some fancy new tricks.

You decide you should go check up on Holly. She's going to be participating in the 1v1 division on the tournament, after all. You head over to her room and knock lightly on the door.

"Hey Holly, you still awake?" You ask.

"YES." You hear Holly respond a little too loudly.

"Um, is everything okay?" You ask, a bit worried.

"YES. I AM TOTALLY FINE AND NOT COMPLETELY FREAKING OUT RIGHT NOW."

"Um, can I come in?"

"PLEASE."

You open the door and see your little sister pacing madly around her room, obviously deep in thought.

"Whoa, Holly, what's wrong?" You ask.

"I'm NERVOUUUUUSSSS!" Holly wails. "I don't know what to do! What if I screw up? What if I look bad in front of everybody!?"

"Whoa, whoa, calm down there, Holly." You sigh. "It's a Gunpla tournament, not a job interview. Don't think on that too hard."

"Gaaaaaaaaah, I just can't stop thinking about it!"

Obviously, Holly needed something to distract herself. She always had a bad habit of over analyzing everything.

Not you again. It was said pretty clearly last time: It's a rules abstraction. You wouldn't expect the prices at the corner store in a Mother or Persona game to accurately reflect their real prices, neither should you here. It's just there to put a tangible limit on how much we can customize our gunpla, so that we can play around at resource management rather than have to consult Merc Command before every purchase we make.

For the reason I said: It lets us play at resource management. There are a lot of people who find that fun to do in quests. Though I suppose it could work just as well if the resource we're managing was our gunpla construction ability. Like "You have 400 units of [EFFORT] you can put into customizing you gunpla currently. Here is how much [EFFORT] it would take you to add on each given part."

"Hey, how about we do a final check on our Gunpla, okay?"

"Y-yeah." Holly nods. "We can do that."

You head back to your room and grab your GM Juggler and your modelling tools and return to Holly's room, where she has her own Gunpla that she's planning to enter into the tournament.

"Which Ball is that?" You ask.

"Oh, it's my Super Ball!" Holly beams as she holds it up in front of you.

Well... it was definitely still a Ball. However, you can see that it had extra thrusters and verniers added on to it. The standard arms were replaced with large grappling claws, which you suspected could be fired and retrieved via tow cable. Rounding it out was a missile rack mounted on the back of the Ball, and a beam rifle turret on the top.

"Looks pretty mean." You grin.

"Yeah! I figured, since the Ball's main strength is its acceleration and compact center of gravity, I'd add some more verniers to make it more maneuverable. The grapple claws are meant to immobilize the enemy so I can get a clear shot."

>>
>>32006993
"Hm, you might want something that could help you out in close combat, because I can guarantee the majority of your opponents are going to want to get in close with you." You say, looking over her Super Ball. "Maybe put something like a beam saber in the eye? Or maybe those mine dispensers from the M model for area denial."

"Hmmmm, OH YES!" Holly's eyes light up. "I can probably put a particle beam cannon in the eye! It would be a nasty surprise for anybody getting in close!"

"Can you install that before the tournament starts?" You blink.

"Pfffft, I can get something like done in half an hour, tops." Holly chuckles. "The whole thing's pretty much hollow, anyways."

You nod appreciatively and turn your attention to your own Gunpla. Might as well give one last check for any potential faults you might have missed. You won't have any opportunity to fix them tomorrow.

Eh. What got kills in GBF was precision fire. Volume/saturation/missile spam was basically just used to keep enemies moving.

Is it right to assume that our Balls have a better carry capacity for equipment compared to Funnels at the cost of speed/manoeuvrability?

Hey, weird thought out of nowhere: When we eventually get down to scratch building, we should try making some Mister Balls from the For the Barrel AU to upgrade the Juggler with. They're pretty cool looking, and have six limbs to attach gear to rather than two. And they're obscure enough that we can get some major cred for even knowing they exist.
>>
>>32007398
Hm, you could use the greased joints. Your GM-Juggler was not the most agile close combat fighter, so any small edge would help. You grab a bottle of lubricant and carefully... CAREFULLY begin applying to your GM-Juggler's joints. You have to be sure not to put too much lubricant on, or it'll start catching dust and just gunk up your joints, making your performance worse instead of better. It's why a lot of fighters never really bothered with it.

You finally oil up the last joint on your GM-Juggler and sigh in relief as you put your Gunpla back together and test its movements. You can immediately notice the difference, as there's little to no resistance as you manipulate the limbs. Satisfied, you quickly store your Gunpla away in its protective case to keep the lubricant out of the elements. You then turn to see Holly messing around on her computer.

"You're done already?" You blink.

"Yep." Holly says. "Already had the parts on hand so it was a cinch."

Sometimes you were really, REALLY jealous of your sister's build skills. You examine her Super Ball once again. At first glance, it doesn't look much different, but looking closer you can see that what was once the cockpit viewport had a rainbow sheen to it.

"Turned the viewport into a variable beam focus. I can widen or narrow the beam at will." Holly shrugs. "Just another little touch."

Jeez, how does she come up with this stuff?

"What are you doing, anyways?"

"Mmmmm, just messing around on Youtube. Watching Gunpla battle replays and a livestream or two."

Funnels are basically just little flying guns that zoom around in a swarm and shoot at things, and are a pain in the dick to shoot down because they're so tiny. They can't carry gear or anything like that.

Our RB-79s aren't really the same type of thing, they're large enough to count as their own suit and can carry a lot of the same gear as real mobile suits so we can outfit them for more complex tasks. The downside being that we can only pack two of them as opposed to a whole swarm of funnels.

Technically funnels can carry equipment, but that's pretty rare and usually sacrifice their guns to get the space to mount them. The only funnels I can think of that carry both gear and weapons are the holster funnels on the Zabanya. Shields, guns(which can be detached for their own separate funnels or wielded as rifles) and a particle focusing system to enhance beam shots. I'm usually against funnel spam in Gundam, but if you have to do it, the Zabanya shows how you do it right.

>>
Rolled 4

>>32008209

Nope.

You can deploy a 1/1 Star Build Strike.
>>
>>32008209
The only limit is what you can fit into the field. Which means that with the average Plavsky emitter you could wind up severely cramped with a big enough model, but the tournament-scale ones could accept pretty much anything you could build. In the show we see people enter such huge things as the Apsalus III, a 1:48 scale Zaku (three times larger than the ordinary Zaku. I wonder why they didn't paint it red?) and an entire freaking Gaw atmospheric attack ship.

Scale-wise, or total size?

I think 1/144 is the standard scale, but I'm not sure if it's actually enforced beyond it being the size most kits are made in. To the best of my knowledge no actual competitors ever used anything different.

As for size, not really. Some jobber was intending to compete with the the Devil Gundam which is XBOX HUGE, and during the world tournament Team Rocket showed up with a Gaw during the battle royale (it was promptly shot to bits).

>>
>>32008440
The show keeps saying that like gunpla plastic is something special. It's not. It's the same ABS, PVC and polyurethane that every toy is made from. Plavsky particles should be able to animate anything with plastic in it. Maybe something different is used to make model kits in the world of Build Fighters, I don't know.
>>
>>32008667
...that's what he was saying.

The full-scales weren't made out of the usual plastic gunpla kits are, and that's why they didn't animate (also the fact there was no GP base interfacing with the particles and a host of other reasons but w/e)

"Hey, what are you watching?" You ask as you peek over Holly's shoulder. "Not gay porn, I hope?"

"Pfffft, as if I'm into that stuff." Holly rolls her eyes. "Just watching some Gunpla battle replays."

"Like what?"

"Well, there's apparently rumors of a new Char impersonator going around." Holly says. "There's some replays of his fights."

"Well, let's see it, then." You say.

Holly hits the play button, and the video boots up. You see two combatants on the screen. What looks to be a Sandrock Gundam and a Kampfer. The Sandrock looks pretty standard, but the Kampfer is painted all red, and, ironically enough, seems to be armed with wrist Vulcans. The Sandrock makes the first move, closing in with incredible speed. The Kampfer immediately jumps in the air and starts unloading both vulcans into the Sandrock. It raises its twin scythes to protect itself and continues to close. However, while the Sandrock was fast, the Kampfer is far faster. In a flash, it's already behind the Sandrock. It reaches behind itself and pulls out a beam carbine and unloads the full clip into the Sandrock's back.

Another replay shows a Freedom Gundam doing its typical beamspam tactics. However, the red Kampfer zips around and between every beam fired at it like it could see the future or something. Once its close enough, it starts firing its wrist vulcans, suppressing the Freedom as countless bullets slam into its armored frame. The Kampfer boosts even closer and this time pulls out dual heat axes. The first pair of swipes cut part the Freedom's beam rifles. The next take off its arms, and the last takes off its head in near perfect precision.

"Jesus, whoever that is, he's good." You whistle.

"Yeah, there's tons like it." Holly nods.

Yes. I find it weird that the plastics only react with said field if they're made by a specific company. It's the exact same plastic, you should be able to enter in a scopedog or knightmare frame or any other mecha model. I realize that they're not going to do that, it's a show about Gundam model kits, but is "the particles only interact with gunpla plastic" really the best explanation? How about "the particle fields are manipulated by computers, the computers are programmed to only recognize models that are based on machines from Gundam"?

"Show me some more. Competitive level, preferably."

"Bro, these ARE competitive level." Holly pouts and hits another link. This time it looks to be an ESPN clip.

"So, it looks like there's another Char wannabe on the competitive Gunpla scene." One of the hosts says. "And she's been DOMINATING local Gunpla tournaments all across the US!"

"She?" The other host blinks.

"That's right! Charlotte Rafale, you remember that name. She's just started this year, but she's already taken three championship titles in the 1v1 bracket!"

Your heart freezes. You could've sworn you heard that name somewhere before.

"Hey, Jack, are you okay?" Holly looks at you.

"Yeah. Yeah, I'm fine." You say absentmindedly, eyes still glued to the screen. The video is now showing more highlights of that same red Kampfer plowing its way through the competition.

"She certainly looks skilled." The other host nods. "But I don't she's World Champ level or anything like that."

"Then you haven't seen our HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEK, where she utterly TROUNCED a former World Champ finalist!" The other host cackles.

Another clip comes up showing the red Kampfer battling what you recognize is the F91 Imagine. It and the Kampfer in a tight, fast paced midair dogfight. Of course, the Imagine was using its signature "Back Jet Stream" move to keep ahead of the Kampfer's attacks. However, at one point the fight, the Kampfer raises its vulcans again, its lone monoptic glowing a bright green. This time, though, it only fires its left vulcan at the Imagine, causing it to do its Back Jet Stream again.

And it flies straight into the sights of the Kampfer's right arm vulcan, getting ripped to shreds in the process.

You realize then that the Kampfer pilot must have been analyzing the Imagine's movement patterns this whole time, and managed to predict which way it would dodge.

"Daaaaaamn." The second host whistles. "Okay, I take that back. That's pretty impressive."

"Like I said, you keep an eye out for Charlotte Rafale. I guarantee you, she'll be the American Champ!"

"I.... I know her." You say under your breath.

"Ooooooooh, is this a childhood crush we're talking about?" Holly gives a slightly evil grin.

"Don't even go there." You flick her in the forehead. "I just want to fight that rematch we never had."

"Eheheheheh, sure, whatever you say." Holly chuckles.

"Also, it's late. Time to go to sleep." You say sternly as you shut off her computer monitor and point to her bed. "Go."

"Fiiiiiiiiine." Holly sighs.

You don't leave until you're sure she's in bed.

"Good night, Jack." Holly yawns.

"Night, Holly." You say as you flip off the lights. Well, you should be getting some sleep, too. You've got a tournament to fight, after all.

---

The next day, you head over to Mason's shop to meet up with the rest of your team. Mason was kind enough to offer to carpool you all to the tournament location, which was a nearby community center. As you approach with Holly in tow, you see Lucina, Mac, and Karen are already there. Makes sense, since Karen was the leader, and Lucina and Mac lived close like you.

"Yo! Jack!" Mac waves at you.

"Hey." You wave back. "So, how have things been going?"

While both of those are American they're not very "American."

If you want it to be American as fuck you graft on some 1/144 sized early-60s Chevy tail fins, or a big mudle car hood with a shaker scoop, or parts from a P-51 or P-47. If you want something more future-y loot some parts from a F-10x series interceptor.

"Wasn't she your first Gunpla battle?" Lucina asks.

"Yeah, that's her." You nod. "Apparently she's been doing well for herself. I thought she quite battling."

"Wait, you're not talking about Charlotte Rafale, are you?" Karen blinks.

"Yeah, that's her." You nod. "You know her?"

"I know OF her." Karen nods. "I heard she's a terrifying opponent. She has that 'sixth sense' all the best battlers seem to have."

"Yeah, and the fact that Kampfers are packed with literally every kind of weapon imaginable and are fast as hell really helps her too." Holly adds.

"Holly. Language." You say sternly.

"Sorry."

"So what, she's pro-level now?" Mac whistles.

"Yeah. She seems to be a favorite for the US Championships."

"And if she wins that, she gets a ticket to the World Championships in Japan." Lucina nods. "That would be interesting to see. I don't recall an American battler ever winning the World Championship."

Before you can say anything more, Amy and Jake come running up.

"Sorry we're late." Jake pants. "Amy here overslept."

"I did not!" Amy pouts. "You just arrived too early!"

>>32010312
"Well, how will the brackets be set up?" You ask.

"Well, it's a pretty low level tournament, so it's only going to be single elimination. 3v3 also tends to have the least number of battles due the requirement for large teams. We'll probably only have to fight 3 or 4 battles total." Karen says.

"And what can we expect to face?"

"Anything, really. You don't have to declare what Gunpla you're using when you register." Karen shrugs. "We don't know what our opponents will bring, but on the other hand they won't know what we're bringing either."

"Ah, okay."

"All right kids, you all ready to go?" Mason says as he comes out the front door.

"Yeah." You all nod.

"Okay, let's go then!" He says happily.

You all pile into Mason's minivan. Yeah, it was pretty old and beat up, but it was reliable and worked well for your needs, so you really couldn't complain. The drive is only a few minutes before Mason parks the van in front of the local community center. You could see quite a crowd around the building.

"Okay, that line there is for fighters." Mason points to the shorter line. "I'll meet you guys inside."

"Isn't the spectator line kinda... long?" You point to the second, much much longer line.

"Nah, I know the organizers, so I can get in as staff." Mason laughs. "Good luck to you all!"

You all walk through the entrance reserved for the fighters. However, Holly has to split off as she goes to the 1v1 registration table. You and your team members head over to the 3v3 table and sign in. You're all given name tags and a team number.

"There are a total of eight teams in the 3v3 division." The organizer in charge of you says. "So there will be a total of three rounds. This battle is single elimination, so if you lose, you're out. Otherwise, all standard Gunpla battle rules apply. Are there any questions?"

All of you shake your heads.

"Good. We'll be drawing lots to determine your bracket placement. Please follow me."

The organizer then leads you to a small back room, where you see what you presume to be the other 3v3 fighters waiting. In the center is a small box filled with folded scraps of paper.

"All right, now that everybody is assembled, I need one representative of each team to take a piece of paper from the box. Each of the pieces of paper has a number on it. You will then hand the paper to me WITHOUT LOOKING, and we will set up the brackets. Is that clear?"

There are grunts of assent.

"All right. Choose a representative and grab a piece of paper."

"Go on." Karen says, lightly pushing you forward.

"Ooooooh, it's THAT movie!" Amy's eyes widen in recognition.

Great. You're battling against three crazies.

"Fighters, please set your GP Bases and Gunpla!" The referee says.

All six of you comply. You, Karen, and Amy set down your GM-Juggler, Obsidian Overflag, and Deathscythe Rozen. Meanwhile, the Three Amigos set down three black Tequila Gundams.

Yeah, it was going to be one of THOSE teams.

"Haaaa, looks like we're fighting the Mexican Tri-Stars." You whisper. Amy chuckles and you see the barest hints of a smile tug at the corners of Karen's mouth.

BEGINNING PLAVSKY PARTICLE DISPERSAL

FIELD: DESERT

All three of your team's Gunpla launch and land in the middle of an bare and open desert. You frown. While this open ground was ideal for your GM-Juggler, it wasn't so much for the Overflag and Deathscythe. You needed to come up with a quick plan of attack. From what you remember, the Tequila wasn't a strong long ranged fighter, but they did have ranged weapons in the form of head vulcans. However, that didn't account for any possible upgrades they may have...

"All right, Karen, Amy, we're going to rush these guys." You say. "Get ready to go fast and furious."

"Got it." Amy nods.

"Moving in." Karen says.

With that, both the Overflag and Deathscythe boost forward. The Overflag moves with blazing speed, though the Deathscythe lags behind just a bit. You disengage your Balls in order to take off some of the weight. Your new Dakka Balls tumble in the air for a bit as they try to adjust to the gravity and atmosphere before stabilizing. You engage your own boosters and jet forward, your Balls following close behind. Gazing forward, you see a small town in a valley ahead of you, and three black silhouttes mixed in among the buildings.

"I think I have visual on them." Karen says.

"Yeah, I think I see them, too." Amy says. "Should we move in?"

You fire your beam rifle as your Dakka Balls unload their weapons as well. Your beam manages to nail one of the Amigos dead on, while your Balls also manage to land solid hits on the other two Amigos.

But... something's not right. There's no explosion, or smoke, or any other indication of a mobile suit getting hit. Your mind racing, you activate your dual band radar. Your powerful sensor pings the town, where you get returns of the surrounding buildings, but you could not get solid contacts matching a mobile suit. Not even a partial reading.

"Karen, Amy, watch out! Something's wrong here." You scowl. "Let's regroup!"

With that, the Overflag and Deathscythe turn around to link back up with you.

Suddenly, black shapes begin rising from the sand all around you, and the sand begins to explode as bullets start landing on your position. Your Balls immediately start returning fire, but it's wild and inaccurate, as they don't have a good fix of what exactly they're supposed to be shooting at.

You instinctively crouch your GM down and raise your shield. Your Balls also pull back closer to you act as impromptu shields as well, as they were programmed to prioritize your survival above all else.

You force yourself to take a deep breath and calm yourself down. You knew that the best thing to do in an ambush situation was not to panic. Judging from the fact that you were immobile and your shield was still only being hit sporadically, that meant you weren't flanked and your attackers were relatively far away, or had short ranged weapons. You activate your dual band radar again.

This time, you get three solid contacts, and a bunch of faint ones. Checking your Ball's visual feeds, you see multiple black Tequilas standing, but the ones that weren't show up well on radar weren't moving. Or doing much at all, for that matter.

Heh, clever bastards. Using decoys to try and confuse you. If you didn't have a more precise sensor system, you probably never would have been able to tell the difference.

"Karen, Amy, listen up. They've got a lot of decoys set up to confuse us. Ignore them!" You say. "I'm sending you the locations of the real ones!"

You check your data again. The three Amigos were split up in different areas. One was on top of a rather tall sand dune, another seemed to be ducking in and out of a large rocky outcropping, and the other seemed to be trying to hide in another town.

"Roger!" Karen says.

"On it!" Amy affirms.

You see both of your allied mobile suits break off and head for the other two Amigos. You see the Amigos pop out of cover and start firing dual pistols at them. Karen uses her twin blades to parry every bullet that comes her way. Amy takes a few glancing hits but otherwise continues to close.

You focus your attention on your own battle. You've got the range advantage and the numbers advantage over the last Amigo. Your Balls split off to the sides while you take aim at the Amigo.

The last Amigo seems to realize his position and drops back behind the hill.

Can they dance?
>>

You send your Balls in first, which loop around the sides of the hill, weapons raised...

...and they see nothing.

You briefly stop short of the hill, wondering what could have happened. One of your Balls moves in closer to investigate, when suddenly a Tequila Gundam blasts out from the sand and spears your Ball in the face with its energy trident. His thruster backwash throws a wall of send at the other Ball, temporarily blinding it.

You fire your beam rifle, which strikes the Tequila Gundam straight and true, drilling right into its abdomen. There's a flash as its midsection explodes and the Tequila Gundam falls over, severed at the waist.

BATTLE OVER

The field dissipates as the table shuts down. You glance over to your teammates, and you see the Obsidian Overflag standing over a disembodied torso, with the limbs scattered about. Meanwhile, the Deathscythe Rozen as her target's decapitated head clutched tightly in its hand.

"Team Obsidian wins their first round, and will move up to the second round." The referee says. "Congratulations. You will have a thirty minute period in which to repair your Gunpla."

You all nod and thank the referee before recovering your Gunpla. Your GM-Juggler was undamaged, though one of your Balls would need some minor repairs. Nothing too serious, though.

"Hey, kid."

You look up to see one of the Three Amigos standing next to you, his arm outstretched.

"That was a good game. Very exciting!" He chuckles. "I think it's got this crusty old heart beating again!"

"Yeah, same to you." You grin, shaking his head.

"I sorta thought we had the fight in the bag with that trap of ours, though. The young 'uns usually fall for it!" He sighs.

"Yeah, well we almost did, too. It was a good trap, though I'd suggest getting some longer ranged weapons. It'd give you more options."

"Heh, I'll think about it, kid." The Amigo laughs. "Anyways, the name's Lucky. Hope we run into each again!"

"Name's Jack, and I hope we meet again." You smile.

"Making friends already, I see." Karen grins as she watches the Three Amigos leave.

"Hey, they may be old, they seem pretty cool." You say. "Plus, I got a weakness for themed suits."

"So, guys, we got some free time. Want to check out the rest of the tourney?" Amy asks.

"Yeah, let me just do quick fix to my Ball first." You say. Fortunately, it was a pretty clean stab, so all you have to do is replace the viewport and patch a couple holes. It doesn't take more than a few minutes.

Those seem like they'd be too big to cram on the frame without a lot of structural modifications, including reinforced joints and way improved boosters/thrusters.

Well we don't lug them about.

We enter a match and immediately deploy after all.

the suit needs to be able to support itself, though. At the very least, the footprint would need to change.

"Hey, let's see how Holly's match is doing. She's in the 1v1." You say.

"Sure. I'd love to see how she battles." Karen nods.

"I know! Both she and her Ball are such cute little buggers!" Amy chuckles.

The three of you head over to where the 1v1 matches are being held, and you spot Holly, who seems to be in a great deal of concentration. Her Super Ball was in a battle with what seemed to be a four armed Zaku. Obviously a custom build. The Zaku was zooming forward, trying to grapple the little Ball, though Holly seemed to be using her acceleration advantage to its fullest, constantly darting away at the last second.

Goddamn, Holly was so focused on dodging her opponent's attacks, she had completely forgotten to use her beam rifle. You wince as there are several openings she could have had a clear shot, which she didn't take. You're almost tempted to shout some advice at her, but that was technically against the rules. Outside help was not allowed.

Finally, the Zaku manages to get lucky and grabs onto the Super Ball. All four arms clamp down in an attempt to crush it like an aluminum can. You're almost afraid the fight is over when Holly suddenly gasps and hits a button.

Suddenly, a bright pink light shoots out of the Super Ball's viewport, searing straight through the Zaku's chest.

BATTLE OVER

There's some clapping as the field dissipates, and Holly sighs and slumps down on the table, exhausted.

"Tired already? That was just the first round." You grin.

"Oh my god, battling is soooooo intense!" Holly sighs. "Is it like this every time?"

"When it's good, yeah." You nod.

"Awwww, you're just so cute when you're like that!" Amy smiles as she hugs your sister from behind. "I wish I had a little sister like you!"

"No you don't. You really really don't." You say jokingly.

"A-anyways." Holly says, still locked in Amy's embrace. "How did I do?"

Have the gunpla bend over or put a launch stand that falls away once it is off the catapult.

Really in the end, what matters is if Merc oks the conversion to make them SD ball MSs.

But encourage her. She still won, her instincts still let her win and she can do this if she believes in herself and watches her back.

I proposed upthread that we switch to Mister Balls from For the Barrel. Those are less spheres and more a spherical arrangement of limbs. They could pretty easily unfold into spidery crawlers that way. Plus when they're on our shoulders they could extend their limbs to look like wings for dramatic posing. Maybe even take advantage of the similarity of appearance between their limbs and the Voiture Lumiere emitter on the Stargazer to give them some improved flight as well as beam redirection. It could be something to consider for our end game gunpla, anyway.

I think it might be easier to just buy a SD Ball kit, and kitbash from there.

But, basically takes us to the same end, since it depends on his allowance.

"You were too reactive. Never let your opponent be the one to dictate how you fight. There were several times during the match you could have taken the advantage and ended it quickly. That said...you still did very well. Especially for your first real match. You had excellent reflexes and used your machine's advantages smartly. If you can keep yourself from getting rattled like that you're going to be great at this. Good job, Holly."

"Well you did a real good job, Holly." You grin.

"I'm feeling a BUT coming on, here..." Holly frowns.

"What makes you say that?"

"Dude, I'm your sister. I KNOW these things." Holly grunts. "Just get it over with. I want to know how to improve."

"Right, well, first things first, you did real good in using your Gunpla's advantages. The thing is, you have to remember everything it's capable of. It's nice that you remembered that hidden particle cannon you installed, but that fight would have ended much earlier if you remembered the beam rifle and the missiles you got. I never saw those weapons fired even once. Weapons you're not going to use are just dead weight."

"Y-you're right..." Holly sighs. "I'll keep that in mind."

"But remember, we're just here to have a good time, okay? I just don't want you losing badly when you don't have to."

"Yeah, I know. Thanks, Jack." Holly nods and smiles.

"We'd better be going back. Our second round match is going to start soon." Karen warns.

"Ah, okay." You nod. "Good luck with your next round, Holly." You say before departing.

You and Amy follow Karen as you all head back. You see the brackets updated and move closer to see who your next opponent will be.

"Oh dear." Karen frowns. "We may be in for some trouble."

"Why's that?" You ask.

"The name, Team Behemoth. I'm pretty sure that's also a team from our school." Karen narrows her eyes. "They specialize in using Mobile Armors."

"Wait, you mean we could be facing THREE Mobile Armors at once?!" Your eyes widen.

"No, they modded the rules for team battles so teams are limited to one Mobile Armor only. However, that still puts us in a tricky situation." Karen sighs.

"Well... it can't be that bad... can it?" Amy blink.s

"Depends what kind of Mobile Armor they decide to bring." You shake your head. "But most of them are monsters in their respective series."

"TEAM OBSIDIAN. PLEASE REPORT TO TABLE FIVE. I REPEAT, TEAM OBSIDIAN, PLEASE REPORT TO TABLE FIVE!"

Well, here's hoping things wouldn't be as bad as you feared they would be.
