Welcome to Academy City. The time is now evening, the weather is comfortable and the date is August 12.

You are Kyril Torikov, ‘Level 2’ Telekinetic Child Error and you are being refused entry to a fancy restaurant. There was a reason for this if you recalled the last few hour, hours, really. School District 19 was apparently home to an underground fighting ring. It’s probably not a surprise then that you found your girlfriend, Asuka there. She always did love a good fight and it doesn’t look like the gunshot wound slowed her down at all. No doubt the reason she didn’t answer her phone was either because the reception was bad or she was sneaking out and didn’t want others to know, especially not her father.

Now that was a whole ‘nother can of worms all together. You knew Asuka had some issues, but there was something that went on between them that resulted in Asuka refusing to speak to him hence. Lord Kudou had hinted that she wasn’t very trusting and if her small bouts of jealousy were any indication he wasn’t lying. Perhaps you would have an opportunity to dig in to that soon.

But, back to the restaurant, you were being denied entrance to a fancy French restaurant that was overlooking a street. It wasn’t because of the bloodied, bleeding, and unconscious Judgement officer by the name of Kaoru over Asuka’s shoulder, nor the various weapons between the three of you. It was because the restaurant was already full, which was bullshit but apparently empty tables built the requisite atmosphere.

I mean, it's not like money is a big issue and we can probably afford it, but I don't much like the idea of giving an inch to this french shitter.

Aww fuckit. Just go for the wad.

The restaurant was fancy, like real fancy, and their clientele was no doubt richer than you were. Still, that wouldn’t stop you much, and definitely not Asuka.

“Could you be a dear and slap some sense in to him?” you asked your girlfriend.

“My pleasure,” she reached for her sword.

You stopped her quickly however and handed her a wad of cash. It was a stack of 10,000 bills you won from betting on her at the fight club.

“I didn’t know you were in to that kind of play but I’ll try for you,” she brushed the wad provocatively.

Then Asuka slapped the host across the face with it.

“Was that to your satisfaction dear?”

You shrugged, unwilling to comment as the host quickly seated you at a table that was a bit out of sight. There was a coat rack next to it and that was where Asuka hung The Dean as well as Kaoru from as you sat down to order. The menu was French with what would have been exorbitant costs for a student of your means. In sticking with the fancy theme, Asuka’s menu had no prices listed in it.

“What does your restaurant have as a specialty?” she set her menu down.

“Mademoiselle, we have everything,” the waiter replied smugly.

“Then how about some Canard à l’Orange and for desert a Grand Marnier Soufflé with some Crème Anglaise for variety,” she rattled off.

“Certainly,” the waiter jotted down the no doubt expensive order, “And you monsieur?”

“I’ll just have some, er, Boeuf bourguignon,” you had trouble reading the name.

“Certainly, might I suggest a Châteu-Grillet from 1999 to go with that?”

You nodded and left the garcon to his work. The wine was served first, as well as some bread-like aperitif. Without any actual experience with wine in a classy setting you determinedly follow Asuka’s lead. Swirl, sniff, sip, savour, and then swallow. Honestly it was rather fruity, a little bit coarse, and with an aftertaste was no doubt more complex than your tongue could handle. Asuka took her time to appreciate it and you almost felt bad that your plebeian tastes could not possible compare with her educated opinion.

“Hmmm I would have preferred something from Alsace for a blanc, or something that was a bit smokier,” she finally said, “Though I would not expect such a good wine choice for a restaurant here anyway.”

“Of course,” you agreed, if only to keep conversation going, “The waiter looked like he knew what he was doing.”

“You would say that, but this is only middle of the pack service at best,” Asuka flicked her hair, “Now what business did our little Sikh friend conduct with my father? I must admit, for someone who is as the saying goes, ‘as cute as a button’, I would never have expected that kind of fight from her. Shashtar vidiya has quite the history.”

Thus you told her about Lord Kudou barging in this morning and his threatening of you with a laser pointer just to try and force your compliance.

“Quite typical of my father really,” she swirled the wine in her glass before taking another sip, “He may threaten violence but he never employs it.”

“So he’s a pacifist?”

“More or less.”

As the food arrived you pondered the next question to ask her.

“I don’t mean to pry but was it always this bad?” you asked her, “With your dad I mean.”

“No. I suppose it is not prying when my father is actively meddling in your affairs,” she sighed and took another sip, “The straw that broke the camel’s back would probably be when he sent me away from our home to Academy City. He had always been trying to curb my, hobbies as it were, and I thought at the time that he had finally had enough, of me and everything. At some level, I knew he cared, I knew he loved me but it was just really hard to reconcile what with the sending me away and all that rot.”

She asked for the waiter to pour her some more wine as you mulled over her answer.

“As for his plans to talk to me I suppose we could reconcile, if only he apologises correctly,” she continued, “Though knowing him he would not think that he did anything wrong.”

“Exactly what would he have to apologise for anyway?”

“That is for him to figure out and for me to decide,” she replied without turning away from her meal.

You decided to step away from the topic then.

“So, fight club, what’s that about? Looked like the kind of thing I could get in to.”

“For a thug you sure are not very well connected with the underside of our city,” she wiped herself off before taking another sip, “I suppose this one will have to disband given its discovery by our Sikh friend here.”

“You could have at least left a message,” you pretended offence, “If only so I could enact your vengeance.”

“I have always held to the image that it is the gentleman that pursues his lady,” she sipped the wine again, “and besides, did you not regale me with tales of your Teacher and his wife? I would have thought you swayed by such a romantic ideal that a simple message would be insulting to the ensuing drama.”

You had nothing to say to that.

She was on her third glass, and you were just finished with your first, by the time dessert arrived. You had settled for some gaufres which turned out to be some waffles with ice cream and melted chocolate. Just as you were about dig in Asuka spoke.

“You are a rather sly fellow did you know?”

You supposed that could be taken as a compliment.

“Plying a maiden such as myself with drink to satisfy your desires,” her voice was accusingly sultry.

Well you didn’t really intend to do anything.

“Still, I do wonder myself what you have been up to in my absence,” she continued, “Turnabout is fair play I believe.”

She got you there.

It sounded so simple to just tell her everything but you were having a hard time remembering. There was some alcohol involved so you could easily just blame that but you didn’t. You recall your first meeting with Lord Kudou, which she had already commented on. Then came your ensuing dealings with Nunotaba and The Railgun. That caught her attention rather quickly.

“I suppose then that this Nunotaba Shinobu is a regular client of yours?” she asked.

“She probably considers me a business partner though.”

“Ah yes, the yaoi manga, how could have I forgotten, much less no figured it out.”

As far as pseudonyms goes, Heart-Under-Blade that was written as Shinobu was a bit of a clue. Her reaction to your dealings of The Railgun elicited a rather wide smile.

“I suppose you expended your favour so that she may coincidentally join your group of friends for a night out on the town,” she started on a fourth glass of wine, “Imagine, a young, easily influenced middle school girl invited to karaoke by such strapping young men. From your companions I would imagine one would have had the foresight to bring alcohol to further lower her inhibitions. Slowly but surely, your suggestions would turn lewder and lewder until finally, one of you would have the power to take the final step and her virginity. I wager you took turns, slowly watching her cries turn from pain to pleasure.”

“I think you’ve had enough wine,” was all you said.

“Oh my, I believe you’re right,” Asuka seemed to stare blankly at you for a moment, “Uncle once said that I was a rather lewd drunk. Perhaps we should settle the bill before I demand your ravishing.”

Quite so, you agreed but how were you going to deal with Kaoru?

You decided to be nice to Kaoru for once. Rather, you had been quite the terrible friend for her, getting her injured on multiple occasions and yet she puts up with it save for some minor grumbling. Your brilliant plan to take her home so that you could tuck her in was thwarted somewhat by the fact that you had no idea where live. It was something you had realised just as you had walked, or wheeled, a fair bit away from the restaurant. You blame the wine.

“What is it dear?” Asuka was clinging quite tightly.

“I don’t know where Kaoru lives,” you voiced your thoughts.

“Oh and what were you planning on doing in her domicile?” Asuka wondered, “Perhaps you were going to play the incubus.”

“Just tuck her in,” you replied quickly.

“If that was all you wanted to do you could have just left her with me,” she suggested, “Or better yet, tuck her in your own bed. I’m sure a gentleman such as yourself would not mind sharing it with a comely maiden or two.”

You considered your options, at least the slightly less lewd ones. You were pretty sure it would be alright if you left her with Asuka. She probably wouldn’t take advantage of the younger girl.

“And don’t think I have forgotten your dealings with the Railgun dear,” Asuka continued unaware, “We shall be discussing the matter tomorrow when I am sober and less lewd.”

“What’s the matter?”

“Country matters.”

Maybe you shouldn’t leave Kaoru with her. Then again it looked like Asuka wouldn’t leave you if you did tuck in the Sikh first.

You were afraid for Kaoru if you left her alone with Asuka, which meant you had to settle with the next best thing, taking her home with you. After all, what could possibly go wrong?

The time is now morning, the weather is cold on your left side and the date is now August 13.

You awakened like a startled goat. In hindsight this was probably a bad idea as you reflexively clutch your sides. Yeah you were definitely going to need your pain killers for this. The only thing stopping you from looking for it was the fact that you were under dressed. Your shirt was gone, though it looked like your boxers were still on. Further covering your crotch and morning wood was a textbook. It was,

>NEWTON
>Minds etc.
>Approximation

“Huh, I would have never thought that you could prop a textbook up with that,” Asuka’s voice carried from the kitchen, “Now will you be a dear and take a shower? I can only do so much to clean your wounds.”

Your initial impulse was to panic. Then you figured it was better to do as you’re told otherwise there would be no breakfast on account of you sleeping on the breakfast table. With a groan you make for the bathroom as fast as you could, with the textbook still attempting to preserve what little dignity your boxers could not. Just as you reach for the handle, you remembered Kaoru. Before you could knock Asuka spoke up again,

“Our diminutive Sikh friend is currently in your friend’s room, Kamijou-san if I’m not mistaken.”

With a sigh of relief you push open your bathroom door to take a shower and uh, relieve yourself.

You’ve stepped out of the shower to find both Kaoru and Asuka sitting at your table with what looked like a piping hot breakfast awaiting you. Their expressions were different. Kaoru winced slightly at the sight of your exposed abdomen and chest. Rather than admiring your gorgeous (in your own opinion) figure she was probably taking in the extent of the wounds you had taken. You had to admit that it didn’t hurt as much the day you got them. Heaven Canceller really did work miracles though he did advise you to stay in a wheelchair until at least the fifteenth thus you plopped yourself down in it as you slipped on a shirt. Breakfast was only for you, as apparently the girls were earlier risers and had eaten.

“I must thank you for the hospitality even if your intentions were suspect,” Kaoru began, “And I am surprised to find that I have suffered no indecencies.”

“Uh, you’re welcome?” you returned.

“Good day, I must return to my duties,” with that she left.

“Funny and cute,” Asuka commented as you dug in, “How is the food dear?”

“Good.”

She didn’t seem to care that there was no way for you to answer otherwise. It’s probably one of those things you’ll never understand. What you did understand was that the smile she had in response was rather sincere. To be fair her cooking was on par with yours, maybe slightly better.

“Now that you have finished breakfast, we must discuss the matter with The Railgun and the implications thereof,” she said as you finished.

You urged her to continue.

“In all honesty, I want in.”

That's the exact opposite of what you want to do. IB only stops the reflection against itself. Touching Accel with it wouldn't turn off his powers completely. During the fight scene, if you actually read the LNs, you'll see that Touma specifically attempts to avoid any sort of grappling because touching Accel with anything that's not his right hand would be instadeath if the albino faggot decides he just wants to end it and sends all the blood into Touma's brain to explode it.

She wanted in on the job with Sparky. You went silent at that declaration, your mind weighing both pros and cons. This was a straight up information job though. You were not running in and smashing faces. It’d be boring for her and besides, you haven’t told her ‘no’ in a while. The last time she tried to stab you so you’re banking on your boyfriend status. Then again she could be useful in her own ways. She’d be perfect to use to get a joker in position and all sorts of useful tricks her ability could achieve. Yeah, she was definitely more useful in a job than you could ever be. You never worked alone anyway so any help would be appreciated. Whether she was up for teamwork was another matter but maybe this could be a learning experience for her. Her father did say that she wasn’t trusting.

“You are aware that this is an information job and that there’s no fighting right?” you started.

“I am aware, as I am aware that this is not the first time you have committed grand larceny though I believe this may be the first time you are doing so of your own volition,” she replied.

“Why do you think that?”

“Because money was involved, or was but now she just owes you a favour,” she grasped your hand, “I am beginning to think that you are building a future for yourself. I simply wish to be a part of it.”

“Fair,” you squeezed, “But I work with my friends. I trust them. Can you? Will you?”

“If I must, Sagara and Tadakuni are rather dashing for rogues,” she answered.

“It’s not just them but then I don’t have any more objections.”

“Then shouldn’t I at least meet with them? Work with them?”

Sure lyshe was not suggesting,
>That you introduce her to your friends
>That you all go rob something in the name of teamwork
>>
>>32005272
then it would be the brass knuckles making contact with Accel, and therefore vulnerable to vector manipulation. It has to be only his right hand
>>
>>32005201
No, it would nullify any powers contacting the hand.

Touma stops people like Kuroko from teleporting when touching her because she can only do whole objects. She can't teleport something Touma touches because it's preventing a small chunk and she has to do the whole thing or nothing at all.

Accel doesn't do that. A lot of espers don't do that. If he grabs Accel, well awesome. He has no reflection in the part of his body being grabbed. The rest of him is still godmode hyperdeath.

We could have Touma grab him and then shoot/stab through his hand to kill Accel if we wanted, though.

“You know what I’m thinking?” you asked her.

“No dear, please do enlighten me.”

“How about we hit that fight club? I bet a lot of money changes hands there,” you suggested, “We could make it an outing, you, me, the kids and several million yen in dirty cash.”

“Oh you still remember how to make a lady swoon,” she leaned in closer and gave you a little kiss, “Promise me there’ll be fighting involved.”

“Of course there will,” you promised.

Of the thousand or so that came to watch her fight you were betting more than half knew how to handle themselves and that at least ninety percent probably carried a weapon or had an Ability equivalent. That was in no way an amount of people you wanted to piss off. That was even before you properly cased the joint for security as well so you were expecting much more formidable defences.

First things first, you needed to round up the boys, which if memory served, the ones who’d even pitch in without hesitation was probably going to be Sagara and Tadakuni. Kyousuke as usual would be indifferent either way and Nakazawa was definitely not going to enjoy breaking the law for fun and profit. The second thing was to actually plan how you were going to hit the place and how you were going to get out. Third and last was that you actually had to call Toulour up and tell him you had a mark. The second wasn’t exactly something you could do without your crew though so that left you with two things you could possibly do right now.

Well there was no sense in calling up your crew if THIEF was going to get in the way of things. Everything dealing with them had been cordial and polite so there was really no point in stepping on any toes now. After leaving Asuka to do the dishes you called your phone to your hand and with a snap you started dialling Toulour’s number.

“This is Toulour,” your contact greeted with no small amount of cheer.

“Toulour you son of a bitch I figured out your stupid test,” you replied instead.

“You did didn’t you?” you heard some voices in the background, “You just earned me a mil, how about we celebrate at the usual spot?”

He meant that fast food joint.

“I remember that place, yeah we can meet up there if you want I guess, not much in to junk food really.”

“Same, I just go for the hottie at the cashier,” he admitted blithely, “Anyway, see you at lunch.”

Then he hung up.

“Who was that dear?” Asuka hugged you from behind.

“Just the thieves guild, or association, I haven’t figured which yet,” you replied with a kiss, “We’re probably going to have to go see him.”

“Well what are we waiting for then?” she asked.

“Lunch,” you shrugged.

“Well that doesn’t mean we can’t distract ourselves in the mean time,” she replied.

“Kudou Asuka, does your mama know?”

“No but she’ll probably encourage me regardless,” she answered and led you to the door.

It was a long time till lunch.

You are the Index Librorum Prohibitorum and are bored. Oh were you bored. Your roommate and temporary guardian had left in the middle of dinner to assist a friend in some capacity or another. While it was a good thing that he surrendered his portion of dinner in recompense, you weren’t sure what to do now. You had already exhausted his meagre library and they contained nothing of interest so you had put it out of your mind. But then, a thought occurred to you. If you did not have a book to read then you shall make one yourself. Mentally patting yourself on the back you got off the bed and acquired suitable materials.

Now that you put pen to paper your mind froze. You actually had no idea how to start. Leisurely writing was a bit of novel experience for you. It was always copy this, reproduce that. Your mind wandered as your pen remained immobile. Searching your mind, you recalled the plot of several works that weren’t grimoires, namely Magical Girl Kanamin and Fowl Gods. Well you think the last one was doubly heretical but there wasn’t an ounce of dark magic involved, probably. While it was nice to take the easy road and be derivative, you were sure you could conjure up a better story, especially better than Fowl Gods. Your story shall be about,

Then inspiration strikes. Your idea was that your characters were siblings, and that they were in love. That which is forbidden tasted the sweetest after all. To make it even more intriguing, the brother would be a vampire and the sister was going to be a werewolf. They weren’t like the real thing obviously. This was a work of a fiction. The brother Huey was going to be a pale day light walker that sparkled in the sun. As for the younger sister, Dalian, she would be a silken haired werewolf that was permanently stuck halfway in her transformation with wolf ears and great bushy tail. Over the course of their adventures which consisted of defeating and collecting 10,000 monsters named after forbidden books, their bonds would deepen and perhaps the deed may be done.

You had no idea why you wrote that in. It seemed like a good idea at the time but hey, this was Japan, land of deviants and heretics. They’d probably welcome your sordid plot with open arms. The question now was where to set your story. Whilst the past was a nice and easy option, it doesn’t translate very well to the present. It helped that you couldn’t remember more than a year ago but your roommate did have some history textbooks lying around. But if you were adventurous you would set this in the far future, if you could.

The world was unforgiving. That was a given, for a character as strong as a vampire and werewolf to survive, you must adapt their circumstances suitably. Let it be said that you did not learn from what you have read, probably. This was the world after the Rapture, when all of God’s chosen and faithful had been reward. It was also a world that set the stage for the 10,000 monsters, the devils, the demons, the taint and all such adjectives were set. The world was dying but its inhabitants still clung to the vestiges of civilisation. You could imagine the barbarity of mankind descending and the ascension of the sinners. Truly the only ones to stop them would be Huey and Dalian.

Thus the stage was set for our heroes, no, our protagonists. Brother and sister tied together in forbidden love on a forsaken world. All that was left was the villain, the antagonist. You had to tread carefully here. The nature of their foe would be crucial to the finale. Therein lay the twist, the last two of the 10,000 would be none other but themselves and their foe but a hunter who would carry out His work and finish the job, earning them their last spot at His side. But who to choose?

You had to dig deep. There was no way the antagonist was going to be a simple cardboard cut-out. When the idea came to you, you just couldn’t stop yourself from scribbling. Their villain was no villain at all. No, he was a hero, a truly relatable hero whose motivation was the salvation of the entirety of the human race. A paragon of humanity, as it was, whose goal was surely nobler than the forbidden love of our protagonists. Truly he would attempt to slay the 10,000 monsters himself and would be successful if not for our protagonists. His failures are less from chance but more from his inexperience. In time he would grow in to a powerful figure himself until only two monsters remain and he would fight, fight to the very last until mankind was saved.

Now for the finishing touch which was to decide on a title and a pen name. You obviously could not write down your own name as an author of this work. What if the Church came down on some harmless bit of fun? You couldn’t take that risk. This was something you found for yourself, albeit to pass the time, and perhaps your only prized possession. As your own you must give it a suitable name.
