It is the year 22XX and Humanity has reached the stars. Alas, even though they have attained the lofty goal of interstellar travel, mankind has yet to conquer it’s baser instincts.

Humanity is ruled by ultra-Corporations. Some own continents. Some own multiple worlds. But no matter who you are, everyone is a citizen-employee somewhere. The qualms that beset corporations of the past, copyright infringement, tech theft, still exist. If anything, they are amplified by the scale of the players.

Without government to turn to for legal recourse and separated by millions and billions of miles, corporations have turned to less savory solutions to resolve disputes. You are one of those solutions.

You are an elite mercenary, also known as a High Impact Public Representative, of the StrikeOut Company, a group of mercenaries who accept contracts and missions from the highest bidder. You are launched out of a spaceship in a drop pod filled with bright orange and highly toxic gel. You crash land into the target’s facilities, make a mess, do your job, and then get the hell out.

You are a Fall Guy. You are a Deniable Asset.

You drag the unconscious body away from the flaring magnesium, dropping the sleeping Lilly on the far wall. Once your done cuffing her hands and ankles you hoist your shield back onto your forearm and nod at Clayton. Clayton holds his hand up to pause your movement onward and to the next room. You wait patiently while he opens up the squad communication channel. “Redskies, Bodrov. Are you two gardening right now?”

There is a pause before Maxim replies with his deep rumble. “Ah, I am getting it. Because they are called the Black Lilly, da?”

Clayton shakes his head. “Belch, if it were anyone else I’d take that as an implicit statement that you’re both fine and the area isn’t hot. But from you…”

“Martian here,” says Marlena unnecessarily, there’s only one grill on the drop here, “We are no longer hot.”

“Speaking of hot,” you say, “Fair warning. They’ve got whi-”

“Da, white light,” finishes Maxim for you. “I am seeing it almost immediately. Classic for Dallas.”

“Good, then you buggers know not to screw around with these bastards,” replies Clayton. “Any persons of interest?”

“Nada,” answers Marlena, “No Dallas or his merry band or that rusted Singh.”

“Alright then. Just remember, the good doctor is our priority here. Don’t let Dallas and his associates slow you down. Let’s move people. Time is of the essence.”

Clayton checks his rifle once more before nodding at you. “Alright Kostov. You take point. I’ll follow.”

You nod and begin to walk towards the door on the far left of the room. This one isn’t like the other one, there’s an actual door here, the hinges welded into place, cheap cellulose board providing at least the formality of a door.

Reaching down, you pick up the spy dart, the miniscule battery completely depleted, and slide it into a pouch on your tactical rig. You consider the abandoned shotgun for a few seconds as well before snatching it up to, sliding it into a free space on your rig. Using a BART sized shotcannon was pretty fun. Although this might be the “fun sized” version of that, you figure that you could probably put it to “good” use.

You walk up to the door and look at it up and down. If what Clayton told you about Dallas is true, then these Black Lillies are trained in being the little guys in the asymmetric warfare game. That means lots of explosives and white light left behind like fucked up easter eggs. You decide that caution is the better part of not dying horribly. You carefully scan the door, looking for potential implements of incineration. After examining it for a few seconds you take a few steps back. There are definitely some wires up in this bitch. You wave Clayton over and point at the offending wires.

“Good eye Kostov,” murmurs Clayton, patting you on the back. “You think you can take care of this one?”

“Yeah,” you mutter. Explosives removal was part of your technical training anyway. Although you’ve only done work with dummy bombs, you’re still fairly confident in your abilities. Withdrawing a knife, you gently saw the offending “door” off of it’s hinges. Just as you suspected, the thing is set to detonate when the door has been pushed open. By pulling it down you manage to completely negate the trip mechanism. You pull the bomb off of the door.
>>
Shrugging, you shoot a spy dart down the newly opened corridor. You active that video feed in your helmet.

“Holy shit though.”

“What is it,” asks Clayton, professional calm competing with nerves at your near run in with high explosives.

“Far side of the room. There’s a lot of Lillies. You’d think we were in a japanese garden or some shit. And from the looks of it, they’ve got some much heavier ordinance than the batch we just dispatched. I’m seeing seven people total, all armed with ARs and Shotguns. Also, they’ve got a minigun.”

“You’re shitting me,” says Clayton as you send him the video feed, “You’re not shitting me. Lovely. There’s basically no cover?”

“None. They’ve got the room on lock. And even if we flash banged them, I’m not sure that some enterprising fuck wouldn’t just go nuts on the entrance anyway.”

“‘Bout ten meters from our entrance to their nearest firing position.”

“Seems right.”

“We’re gonna need a bigger ‘nade,” you mutter, glancing around the room.

“You can say that again mate,” agrees Clayton as you get to work on the IED. After a few minutes of work, and Clayton’s urgent tapping of his foot, you stand up.

“Alright, I think I’ve gotten this thing set up on a timed fuse. Nothing too accurate mind, but I doubt that they’ll have enough time to toss it back.”

Clayton nods as you take point. You walk up through the corridor, taking care not to clank too loudly. They know you’re coming, and you don’t plan to be in their direct line of fire, but bullet ricochets are still a thing. Eventually you press yourself against the wall of the storage container. You fiddle around with the bomb until your impromptu time fuse is “lit”.

You can’t resist. “Fire in the hole!”

You toss the IED Lilly-wards, gratified to hear distant scrambling as people run for cover. You and Clayton wait for the inevitable explosion.

And you wait.

And wait.

You know that there’s probably a bit of bullet time shenanigans going on right now, but you swear to Christ the bomb should not be taking this long to detonate. You poke your head out, and see an equally nonplussed set of Lilly heads poking out of their cover. The lot of you duck back into cover upon seeing one another.
>>
“Seems that bomb didn’t work out quite as well as we hoped Kostov,” says Clayton, yanking a frag grenade out of his rig. “Time to employ more traditional methods.”

The grenade flies in the direction of the Lillies. a few seconds later and your helmet shuts out a detonation. A detonation immediately followed by a second much louder and deeper detonation. You are barely able to keep your feet from the blast. The air shudders around you, and you can feel just about all of your internal organs vibrate in your chest. Like standing right in front of the bass at a concert, only ten times worse.

“Holy fuck,” you shout, slightly nauseated by the force applied.

“Haaaaaa,” groans Clayton, half-laughing. “Good thing you saw that earlier Kostov.”

“Right,” you respond, and you ready your tomahawk and shield and blitz into the room.

Three of the seven Lillies are not smeared against the wall. They are currently in various states of disarray. You brusquely walk up to them and quickly dispatch them with your tomahawk. Clayton follows you into the room, AR raised and ready.

After sending the last Lilly to the waiting room in the sky, you turn to face Clayton. “Well that wa-”

“Fuck,” you bellow, seizing Clayton by the upper arm and pulling him alongside you as you jump away from a large tower of storage crates. You and Clayton rolls across the ground bouncing against each other. As you do so, Clayton opens up a comm channel.

“Mate wha- ooff- the fuck-”

Clayton's reprimand is cut off as the same tower of crates that you leapt away from topples over, smashing into the area that the two of you were standing not a moment before. You and Clayton quickly scramble to your feet, you draw you tomahawk and ready your shield while Clayton brings his M-24 up into the firing position. The pair of you stare into the clattering wreckage of storage crates.

“Bloody Nora,” grunts Clayton, managing to both sound shocked yet also unphased. It’s really stunning how he’s able to do that.

An armored sort of bulldozer machine is slowly pushing it’s way over the wreckage. The cabin is covered in ceramic plates and there are a variety of mounted and manned guns on the impromptu tank.

“Why the fuck would they even have that,” you roar as you can Clayton both dive behind cover as the guns on the bulldozer open up.

“I don’t know mate,” Clayton bellows back and bullets clatter ominously against the storage crate that the two of you have taken cover behind. “You’re a techie, what do you think we can do about it?”

You bite your lip, thinking hard. “Shitfire. I’m not too familiar with farm equipment or whatever. Aim for the treads I guess? These engine blocks are usually either hydrogen fuel cells or something else related, they aren’t about to explode spectacularly. You put your tomahawk away and draw out the canister of white light. “Clayton. Smoke me.”

Clayton stares at the jellied magnesium in your hand with disgust that is evident even through his helmet. “That’s a war crime in a can right there mate.”

“Only if you use it on people” you reply with a wolfish smile.

Clayton takes a second to process what you sad. “I like the way you think Kostov.”

You duck low and clayton tosses a smoke grenade out from behind the storage container. You wait a few seconds before dashing into the smoke. As you do so, Clayton opens fire with his AR, trying to draw the attention of the tankdozer while you get into position. You stumble through the smoke, grateful that Clayton is drawing the dozer’s fire right now. You doubt you’d get so far if he weren’t keeping those guys on the guns distracted. Eventually your hand makes contact with what you can only assume is one of the wheels of the tankdozer. You smile to yourself as you drop the canister of white light onto the tread.

You leap away from the intense heat, already very nearly intolerable just upon lighting. You blitz out of the cloud of smoke and leap behind another storage crate on the outside of the cloud.

“Clayton, I’ve lit up the treads. That thing won’t be going anywhere.”

“Good on ya Kostov. That doesn’t take care of those assholes on the guns though.”

“Yeah well,” you reply, “They’re hardly protected are they?”

“True enough,” grunts Clayton. You can overhear the sound of bullets bouncing against his crate over the commlink.

The smoke from Clayton’s grenade is already clearing away. This warehouse must have quite the robust ventilation system installed. You can already see the fuzzy outline of the tankdozer through the smoke

>>31965966
I'm assuming "Dallas" had some input and he seems like a pretty smart berk.
>>
Rolled 6, 2, 7 = 15

>>31965995
Smart? Probably.

His competence lies in training terrorists. He probably doesn't really care about how long the people he trains live, he just need them long enough to go out with a bang.

There is probably a slit for a gun at the rear, but its unlikely to be a mounted gun like those at the front. It would be a waste of ressources.
>>
>>31966107
Hmmm. Hopefully. In that case we should just be able to stick our OMP in and hose 'em down. Or shotgun if you please.
>>
Sorry, had to do laptop maintenance for roommate

>>31965944
Guns are mounted on body of tankdozer, with some limited armoring. They are still mostly open though. In return, they have wide arcs of fire, about 120 degrees or so. There are two near the front and their fields of fire overlap slightly in front. There are two more in the back, and their fields of fire overlap significantly.
>>
>>31966200

So instead of the back, we would be safer (relatively) approaching from the side?
>>
Rolled 2, 7, 3 = 12

>>31966200
Whoa, so there is 5 people squeezed in that tiny cabin? Must be getting sweaty and homoerotic in there.

We may have to reconsider our plan. We could take out a gun or two to create an opening.
>>
>>31966200

Mostly open as in we can shoot into them? Cause it sounds like we could just go to the side and reach over to blindfire into the tank/throw a nade.
>>
>>31966200
Doesn't look like we can get at it without drawing some fire so the best option would be closing the distance between us and the gunners quickly
>>
>>31966247

It's okay. There's a shower built in.
>>
>>31966247
They're not in the cabin. They're kinda on positions on the body of the tankdozer. Quite exposed as it were.

>>31966252
That is a viable option.

>>

>>
>>31966339
We should approach on the blindspot on the side and use the side of the tank for cover firing at the two gunners on our side.

Then we could climb up and axe or fire remaining guns or stay at the side and pop out firing from each comer of the tank to get the last gunners.

You inhale deeply, and exhale. You don’t know why, but every time it seems you want to use your Model 223, things always go pear shaped. It’s time to just take things easy and pick off these stupid turret manning bastards before the have the presence of mind to see where the other guy they nearly ran over went. You stand up and take another deep calming breath. Just one. As you exhale you squeeze the trigger.

The Model 23 bucks in your hand like an unruly mega-mule, the absurdly large caliber straining to send the barrel of the gun smacking into your face. You hold steady however, and the bullet sails true through the air. The back of one of the Lillies on the front turret explodes into a mess of crimson and brown viscera against the useless armor plating. At this point, the irregulars have noticed that there’s something more irregular than them going on and are turning around. Your next shot goes wide, bouncing off of the impressively armored cockpit of the tank dozer.

Scowling to yourself you raise your shield and begin to move towards the rapidly shrinking area where the three remaining gunner can’t hit you. You come to a halt and fire, hoping against hope that this one will connect.

It does, and the head of one of the rear gunners explodes into fragments of bone and brain. You rapidly holster your Model 223 and leap into the air, drawing your tomahawk as you do so. You land on the chassis of the tankdozer, your mag-grip boots clanging with a loud finality against the steel frame. A quick application of magnetic grip and you’ve regained your footing. You fire your Model 223 into the last remaining rear gunner, the revolver bellows it’s fury and the Lilly’s chest inverts through his spine and splatters against the storage crates behind him.
>>
You silently turn to face the last gunner. This man has actually brought his gun in line with you. Cursing furiously your raise your shield just in time to intercept a hail of gunfire. Most of it anyway. A stray bullet catches you on your unarmored shoulder, hitting you like a hammer. You fall off of the tankdozer, bouncing against the ground of the the warehouse, gritting your teeth in pain.

Just then a burst of rifle fire.

You lie on the ground, stewing in the pain in your shoulder as Clayton walks up to you, resting his M 24 on his shoulder nonchalantly. “Dumb bastards seem to have a poor grasp on object permanence,” he chuckles, shaking his head. “Good distraction there Kostov. Any longer and they would’ve gotten through my cover.”

Clayton pulls you to your feet by your good arm and gestures at the storage crate he was hiding behind. The front wall of the container is riddled with holes, and the back one was some worrying dents.

“Way I see it,” Clayton says, cracking his knuckles, “I won’t mention that you thought it was a good idea to hop on top of an armored vehicle if you don’t mention that I tried to engage the bloody thing with a goddamn assault rifle.”

>say something to Clayton?

“You implying either of those were bad ideas?”

“Only if I want to be a little bitch about it,” replies Clayton, his face on the video feed breaking in an adrenaline charged grin. After a few seconds the adrenaline grin slides off, replaced by a more somber and slightly bothered expression. “But in all seriousness. Let’s not do that again. Good way to get killed.”

“Hey Clayton,” you say raising your hands. “I can be cautious too. Remember who disarmed that bomb? And found the damn thing?”

Clayton shrugs. “Fair enough Kostov. Fair enough. Shit. Enough jawing. We need to get moving.”

You nod briefly. “Right. But where do we go? There’s about a million options.”

The two of you consider the possibilities that the tankdozer have opened up for you.

Its from an anime. Hyper Oats are a super food that, in the show, gave Japan complete food autonomy. They no longer had to import food, as they do now, and so it gave them the ability to implement some very shady measures to ensure public peace, since they weren't beholden to the outside world.

Anime is Psyco-Pass, the text is kind of a joke/ meme that came from it.

Say, FG? That shotgun we picked up from the Lilly? Is it a standard MSPE 2093, or, since you did mention Mars might be involved, some other shotgun common to the fascist hippies?

Also, since we're on it, do different corps use different weapons? Are there even different weapons for purchase at similar levels, IE, what would be the equivalent of an OMP?
>>
>>31968854
Probably not a Standard MPSE. I'll have to figure out a fun and appropriately themed Martian name for it though.

As for your other question, many corps buy from the same weapons manufacturers, but there are several on the market, obviously.

There are counterparts to the OMP, MPSE, M 24, all those good things, but I haven't bothered with thinking of names for them. StrikeOut generally buys the highest quality weapons for it's tech level.

No, not really.

Basically, it's comics about high school lesbians. It focuses on how "Pure" and "Romantic" the characters love is. They're popular among guys in Japan, like how Yaoi (man-love) comics are popular with women.
