"How much time are we talking about here?" Russia asks.

"However Mother moves, it's very very fast, since it keeps jumping around every time we try to track it. Judging from its movements, we're estimating that it will reach the solar system in about a month."

All of the Council members quickly look at each other and begin mumbling in alarm. Shit, even YOU'RE alarmed.

"What are our options, then?" USA asks the golden question.

"This." Egan brings up a picture of a vial of crimson red liquid. You also see the prominent BIOHAZARD warning labels on it, too. "It's a bioweapon codenamed Omega Red, which was developed specifically to destroy Invader-type organisms. However, never deployed it in the field because even though it could kill Invaders, it also killed pretty much everything else, too."

"Can we manufacture it in sufficient quantities?"

"It's extremely potent. One vial is probably all we need." Egan says. "The problem lies in actually delivering it to the target."

Suddenly, blueprints and schematics pop up on the screen.

"I've been digging through our files, and I found blueprints for a canceled project, which proposed using the ODIN satellites as a propulsion system to launch space probes. We can build a delivery vehicle, but the problem is that to maximize chances of success, we need somebody at the helm in order to ensure the payload is delivered at this exact location."

The image of Mother then zooms in to a spot just under one of the eyes, which is labeled as a major artery.

"So what you're saying that this is essentially a suicide mission." France says.

"Assuming Mother or Omega Red doesn't kill the pilot, there's no feasible way to get them home, so yes." Egan nods. "Also, another problem is that if we fire ODIN at full power for maximum speed, it would pretty much kill a normal human."

Of course, the months seems to pass away in a flash. Most of the time is spent undergoing rigorous training for your supposedly final mission.

When told the news, your friends were naturally upset. Of course, Mirai, Kanako, and even Mary all offered to go in your place, but you flatly refused them. You worked so hard to save them all, so you couldn't very well just sacrifice them to save your own life. As if it was worth anything.

Carol, of course, also wanted to go in your place, but you flat out rejected that too. Instead, you had her teach you everything she knew about communicating with Invaders, as well as mental assimilation and domination techniques. Just in case.

Leo was... a bit awkward. All he did was smile sadly and say, "Just what I expected you'd do."

You also set about putting your affairs to order. That was actually pretty simple, seeing as how the only thing of worth you have is Carol. You made Bruttenholm, Leo, and Egan promise that they would look out for Carol, and not let the Council turn her into a weapon. She was going to have a 'normal' life, or you would come back to haunt them ALL.

Loki, oddly enough, was extremely quiet. He never appeared to you at all throughout the month.

Finally, the final alarm that you'll probably ever hear rings, waking you up. Already in a foul mood, you check your schedule and are reminded that after a month of preparation, today was mission day. Wonderful.

"Now, the ODIN is going to fire you at near relativistic speeds, so the acceleration is going to be a bit... uncomfortable to say the least." Egan warns. "But you should stand a good chance of surviving."

Warning sirens and klaxons blare as the delivery vehicle is loaded into the ODIN satellite's firing barrel. There's a loud buzzing sound as its magnetic propulsion systems charge, and suddenly your crushed in your seat as you are launched out into space. "Uncomfortable" your ass!

Finally, the G's start to dissipate as your acceleration stabilizes, and you can finally breathe again. You check your Omega Red and Companion Juice vials to make sure they were still intact. Seeing the vials still secure in your containers, you sigh in relief. Better make sure NOT to get those things confused...

It's not long until Mother finally comes into view. It was... way fucking uglier than it looked on the pictures. The whole planet just seemed to crawl and vibrate. Just looking at it too long made you nauseous. Your display screen then buzzes to life when it detects Mother's presence.
