fluff guys, we need a little more detailed recap of the story so far.
crunch ideas in following posts.
>>
>>31780494
Reposting the timeline some magnificent bastard wrote up.

>1960s
Following the prophecy of the true Dead Sea Scrolls, the ancient shadow organization SEELE organized an expedition to the Antarctic.

>1980s
After 20 years of searching the remains of a monstrous being were discovered buried under the ice, a base is established at the site. Seele establishes a front, the Biotech Firm Gehirn, and sends samples of the Antarctic creature now dubbed “Adam” to Gehirn labs across the world.

>1990s
Gehirn develops the MAGI organic computer system based on the brain tissue of the Adam creature.

>2000s
At the SEELE Antarctic site something is found buried several miles under the ice, the ancient breach now frozen and abandoned. It is quickly reburied and placed under heavy guard, SEELE moves to stage two of their plan.

Evangelion Project is started, with Gehirn attempting to clone a lobotomized version of the Adam creature. Utilizing technology originally developed for the MAGI system, a human could be "synced" with the clone's dormant mind, allowing the human to take control of the body as if it were their own.

>2013
K-Day, the Kaiju Trespasser comes ashore on the California coast. After six days of battling the beast with conventional weapons, the US military finally attacks and kills Trespasser with a nuclear strike. The California Bay Area is totally destroyed, and contaminated with the toxic substance Kaiju Blue. Tens of thousands of people are dead, hundreds of thousands wounded, millions are now homeless.

After dozens of failed attempts, Gehirn finally succeeds in growing the EVA series prototype, Unit-00.
>>
>>31780798

>2014
Three additional Kaiju attacks are unleashed on coastal cities of the Pacific and Atlantic, all three must also be put down by nuclear weapons. Jasper Schoenfeld proposes the Jaeger Program during a special UN general assembly session on the Kaiju threat.

Pressured by the sudden appearance of the Jaeger Project, Seele dissolves Gehirn and transfers all personnel and assets to the new agency NERV. Which goes public with the EVA program as its own solution to the Kaiju threat.

>2015
American Jaeger prototype Brawler Yukon engages Kaiju Karloff and is victorious.

Japanese Jaeger prototype Jet Alone is deployed in Tokyo Bay to intercept Kaiju Onibaba. Disaster strikes as a glitch in the Drift software results in the death of both pilots, disabling Jet Alone and leaving Tokyo defenseless. NERV springs into action by deploying prototype EVA Unit-00, managing to bring down Onibaba. The incident is shrouded in controversy, with accusations of sabotage and incompetence thrown to both sides. In the end Japan terminates its Jaeger program, and orders Jet Alone scrapped. Mysteriously, the ship transporting the Jaeger never arrived at its destination.

The UN Security Council is impressed with both systems, and approves both. The PPDC received funding for 30 Jaegers across 5 production lines, and NERV approval for one additional prototype and 18 full production Evangelions.

>2016
6 Mark I Jaegers enter service.
EVA Unit-01 Finished

>2017
6 Mark II Jaegers enter service.

EVA Units 02, 03, and 04 finished

While originally intending to operate both Evangelions and Jaegers, the United States abandons its EVA program after a disaster involving the NERV facility at Area 51. In the wake of an unsanctioned experiment involving Unit-04 and a prototype power source, the entire facility and everything within 100 miles is atomized. NERV was kicked from the country, and America’s remaining EVA Unit was donated to Egypt.
>>
>>31780820

>2018
6 Mark III Jaegers enter service.

EVA Units 05, 06, 07, 08, and 09 finished.

>2019
6 Mark IV Jaegers enter service.

EVA Units 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15 finished

>2020
Heavily over budget, only one Mark V Jaeger is produced, the rest of the line canceled. An additional 6 Mark IV Jaegers are built instead, ending the first Jaeger production order.

EVA Units 16, 17, 18, 19, and 20 finished. The first EVA series production order is complete.

>2021
Just as it seemed Humanity might have the upper hand, the frequency and severity of Kaiju attacks begin to escalate. Casualties begin to mount for both Jaegers and EVA Units.

The PPDC opens the Oblivion Bay facility in the ruins of Oakland to house Jaegers wrecks damaged beyond repair, while NERV stores the shattered remains of defeated EVAs in Graveyard facilities in the deepest depths of the Geofronts.

>2024
An unprecedented 15 Kaiju emerge from the Rifts in one year, all stronger than the ones that came before. By the time the year ends, 12 Jaegers and 5 EVAs are destroyed. In addition to the losses mounted over the previous few years, only 2 Jaegers and 2 EVA Units are still intact.

The UN Security Council decides both programs have become unsustainable.

>2025
The present day, only the Shatterdome and Geofront facilities located at the Panama Canal remain active. The UN has diverted funding from both NERV and the PPDC to the Wall of Life project. In 2026, both organizations are scheduled to be disbanded.

>>31780845

The following is a change of my own to the timeline, since we were discussing whether SEELE's actions in reactivating the Antarctic Breach were what reminded the Precursors/Engineers that Earth was a thing, thus causing K-Day to happen in the first place.

>20??
Unit-00 sent on secret mission through the Atlantic/Antarctic Breach by SEELE, it returns with a captive Precursor/Engineer codenamed “Lilith”. It is stored in statis at one of the new Geofront facilities, at the lowest level. Not even high ranking NERV personnel know of Lilith’s existence.
>>
Basic system: dice pools (most likely d10s), target numbers for rolls either fixed or varried, if 10 is rolled: get extra success, if 1 is rolled, subtract highest success.

physical stats for the character are replaced with the EVA/jaeger's stats when piloting (in situations like this, the only time a character's physical stats are used is for escaping a bot or other situations that are not involved with piloting)

players add relevant stats depending on what they are doing (skill of character+attribute of thing they are controlling, EVA, jaeger, themselves, etc.) example: character has a melee skill of 3 and the bot has a strength of 6, they roll 9 dice at the enemy's defenses (explained later)

successes that make it through are added to bonuses given by the weapon being used and are rolled to find a final number of successes which equal damage that armor subtracts from, leaving a final amount of damage for the targeted part to take.

this sounds complicated, but it's simple when put in a math formula instead of writing:
attacking:
Pilot skill+bot's attribute= # of dice for attack.
target number = level of defender-level of attacker, +5 (basic number to get over) example: attacker: level 6 defender: level 8 target number: (8-6=2+5=7) 7 is the number they have to hit. (this will be easy to calculate if encounters with enemies that are made before a session are ready to go and you know your party's level)

Damage:
successes that beat the target number + weapon bonuses= # of dice to roll for damage.
subtract successes equal to target's armor.
remaining successes do damage to target body part.

i don't think you'll ever have more than a few players squaring off against more than a few kaiju, so rules massive numbers of foes would be unnecessary, and this also allows players to fight battles on the ground outside of the bots, letting the bigass fights feel more special.

i'll admit the rules seem a little obtuse now, but i'm sure they'll do good in practice.

Synchronicity, either with a fellow ranger or an EVA has always been a big deal.
my solution was the following: every character and EVA (not jaeger due to them not being cyborgs) has a personality that reads as a simple color on pic related.
some personalities work better together than others. generally depressed characters (seen as blue on the chart) don't go together well with a character that has a fired up personalities (seen as orange on the chart). for each space over on the chart another ranger character or EVA they are working with is, the player takes a -1 (or -2 undecided how tough we want this. that would be twice as difficult) when making a piloting roll.

so if a ranger character with a yellow (optimistic) personality is working with another ranger character with an orange (fired up) personality, they are only at a slight disadvantage (-1 or -2 dependent on how difficult we want this t be) compared to if they were piloting with a purple (brooding) personality (which would be a -3/-6 to their roll)

if you are working with a character/eva that has your same personality type, you have no modifier and fight as one.

once again, this sounds difficult, but if you remember/write down that you are at a certain negative while fighting alongside that character, there should be no problem.

any questions?
>>
Oh hey, someone finally made a new thread. Guy who made the timeline here.

>>31780879
I was going to have Unit-00's completion moved to 2012, as well as the ooLilith snatch and grab mission. Which proves to be the catalyst for K-Day
>>
i'm thinking weapons should be taken as a point-buy, that allows custom weapons to be created, but the downside of taking a massively OP weapon is that it, and/or your appendage that holds/has it built in can be destroyed. the upside of taking them is the massive damage they can deal though, so taking them in lieu of multiple lesser weapons has its advantages and disadvantages. it's all about how YOU want to play.
>>
>>31781400
(also the points mentioned would be requisition/funding that is earned by how much less collateral damage you cause, and how well you defend your city(s).
>>
>>31781227

I think I know how this could be expanded on.

>For EVA pilots
During character creation, have the player role a d6 for their EVAs personality. The character itself should have been made already so as to avoid metagaming and turning the emo teenager into a hot-headed one. DMs will have to prohibit them from changing personality types for this very reason, or at most allowing them to change to a -1 personality.

But that's it for EVA-specific stuff.
Anyhow, as for how this could be given greater depth, I was thinking we should run with a sanity system. Taking damage, or witnessing particularly horrendous acts by Kaijus/other pilots should trigger a sanity roll which, if failed, would cause psychological trauma of varying degrees based on how badly the roll failed and the cause for rolling. It can be from minor PTSD to a violently-expressed fear of... whatever.

Anyhow, a relationship system should also exist that would act as a support in the psychological gameplay area. Say you've got a Jaeger pilot who is undergoing a PTSD episode due to something in the battlefield. They'd roll a sanity check to determine if they keep their cool or freak the fuck out. The pilots relationship with the co-pilot would then be used as a support, granting a +# or -# depending on the pilots' relationship and the fact they're drifting means it would happen immediately.
EVA pilots wouldn't get this kind of support due to obvious reasons though.

Anyhow, just wanted to throw out that idea. I'm thinking that a bad-enough sanity roll would cause an EVA pilot to go berserk and start causing collateral damage everywhere, and damage to their own EVA and allies, while fighting a Kaiju. A Jaeger I can only imagine shutting down though. Tell me what you think so far, and I'll try to flesh it out a bit more if you guys like it.
>>
>>31781577
seeing fucked up shit (a tank of naked clones of your mother/crush, an AI controlling your eva and crushing an out of control pilot's entry plug with them inside) would give a character insanity points that give them a -1 on sanity rolls for each point they have.

failed sanity rolls from a trigger (get out your x cards) or chasing the RABIT would result in having to roll on a table of results varying between going bezerk, to doing nothing, to future effects that are more detrimental. i'd personally have this as a "sometimes this happens" part of the rules for people who want that, not a thing like AdEVA did where ALL CHARACTERS ARE INSANE FOREVER. more of the simply traumatic experiences that leave them having an intense fear of something, like when Mako chased the RandomAccessBrainImpulseTrigger.

i'm going to leave relationship stuff more to the roleplay than crunch. i covered the advantages of a relationship with the personality thing, which means -0 is as good as it gets because it's like one person is controlling the bot. not to say it's impossible to be better at something with someone else helping you pilot, but i don't think it can get better than if one person was in perfect control of everything, or if an EVA was acting exactly as a character wanted it to.

with my idea it keeps things a bit more simple than "i have 7 plusses and 5 minuses. what do." confusion is something i want to avoid.

good thoughts though.
>>
>>31781577
(cont)

So, as for how this all relates with the personality types.
Each personality should have some bonuses attached to it regarding how stable the character tends to be (+/- to the sanity stat), how well the character relates to people (+ modifier with some personality types, - with others. This would only affect INITIAL relationships when meeting someone new and when determining how well a party's characters relate to each other from the start. Other things should be brought in to affect this, like backgrounds and pre-game actions and the like.)

>>31781968

Hmmm, good point. Keeping it simple might be for the best, but I just want to have the idea be there in case we look for something like it. The way I was thinking it could work was like how Apocalypse Worlds handles relationships, except that in here they'd have an actual effect besides "I don't have that much of an urge to shoot you."

>"As far as we can tell, he was designed for electronic warfare. Needless to say, attacking data networks requires a lot more mental flexibility than is displayed by your average Kaiju. The problem, we suspect, is that was too good at collating information; he asked about his retirement plan and decided he'd be better taking the severance package. I can only speculate on his current goals, but I suspect they involve not being killed and not being lobotomized by NERV. Not necessarily in that order."
>>
>>31782032
as i said, the relationships are a good idea, but IRL you can get along with someone a lot as friends, but when it comes to trying to share the same actions, it can become really difficult.

as for bonuses for personality types, i like that idea. perhaps have the bonuses for specific stats though. also, characters who might be diametrically oppossed personality wise (brooding/purple against optimistic/yellow) would have negatives when trying to communicate with their opposites.

again, this might be going to deep, but it's an idea.
>>
>>31782034
Is this some tank bred clone created by NERV?

Or something the Precursors/Hivemind came up with?
>>
>>31782156
Oh, I'm not saying that the relationship stat should affect control and combat at all. As you said, piloting a giant death machine with someone whose personality is diametrically opposed to yours will be extremely difficult. What I'm saying is that it should be there only to help with keeping PTSD, or general insanity, in check. Pilots with a strong bond will keep each other sane and rolling while drifting.
Meanwhile, the lonely, angsty, already-somewhat-coocoo teenagers piloting the EVAs don't get that kind of help by virtue of melding minds with a giant lobotomized monster. So in the end, we see plenty of EVAs going berserk while barely any Jaegers do so.
>>
>>31782306
in that case it makes complete sense. still, i'd like to avoid guys going bezerk all the time until later in campaigns when quite a few insanity points have been handed out for discovering conspiracies and such. so maybe don't have only unstable people piloting the evas, we should hold back the instability for later areas and let it accumulate over time.
>>
>>31782394
Completely agree.

Speaking of uncovering conspiracies, I was wondering how we would handle stats themselves.
I mean, >>31781014 gives us a good starting point, but should we have expansive stats for the pilots themselves as if they were characters from any other setting? If they're going to investigate, follow leads, and possibly get into firefights/fist fights, what kind of stats should we provide without unnecessarily creating an entirely new system?

This also brings the question of how progression would occur, for both pilots and mechs.
>>
alright, since we covered weapons i now want to work on hit locations. now, i like the lethality of something like WoD (you have 7 hp in that game and thats it, i'd make it a little more like shadowrun or exalted where you havev quite a bit more on a damage track when you're out of the bot) where you take a shotgun blast and you're dead, however when you're in giant robots fighting kaiju, it doesn't make much sense that they'd go down without a big-ass fight.

for this, i want to have hit locations on both kaiju/jaegers/EVAs that allow them to take a beating but keep on trucking for a long time. a way to do this is to have multiple damage tracks for the whole of them, one for each location.
as you go down the track your systems take more damage and you can maneuver less. if an arm is taken out with a built in weapon system (say, Gypsy's cannon) it'll be damaged or even lost. taking a hit to the legs lowers your mobility, and weapon systems if you have footspikes like unit 02, in 2.22, and if you lose the head or chest (depending on if you pilot a jaeger/EVA) and can make your character or their power source take damage.
>>
>>31782596
I am now imagining a Jaeger hopping around on one leg after a Kaiju swooped it right off from underwater. But in all seriousness, reminds me of Deus Ex in a way.
>>
>>31782883
Tis but a scratch.
>>
>>31782510
i was figuring on using a stat setup similar to World of Darkness, but split them up in a different way so it's easy to see what you'll be using in and out of the robots.
have dots in different skills, attributes, split up into mental/physical/social areas.

progression may just depend on what the characters do.
i liked several ideas i saw in numenera, like there is only a few requirements to gain another level (find out something, accomplish goals, etc) and (in the final fantasy d6) how winning a combat only gives you a single XP, completing a quest gives 1-3 EXP, and killing a boss gives 1-3 EXP, and showing up to the session gives 1 EXP. (in that game it took only 5exp to get to a new level.)

numenera also uses a thing called "GM intrusions" which is like an optional challenge that allows a player to either get more EXP by completing the challenge, or not and continue what they were doing until he brings in a mandatory confrontation.

i think we should start at 5EXP to get past level 1, and double it each time.

as for progressing jaegers/evas; i was planning on the requisition point buy system being used to improve things by using funds gained through avoiding collateral damage and taking down kaiju efficiently and fast.
>>
>>31782883
since gypsy's leg was crippled in the last scene of the movie, and it still kept fighting, it makes sense that they'd be able to do that.
>>
>>31782961
gaining a new level will give a character a couple extra dots to up their skills and attributes a little bit, while a player can just buy dots for a jaeger/EVA's skills
>>
>>31782961
Which brings up an interesting point. A Jaeger, if everything goes according to plan, will likely not cause any collateral thanks to intercepting the Kaijus out at sea. However, in a city, calculating collateral damage would be a bit more iffy.
I think it could be abstracted by saying that each miss with a ranged attack will cause... I dunno, 1 point of collateral? 5 points? Would depend on how we decide to value it. Point is, missing with ranged attacks is bad. Pushing your opponent into a building is semi-bad. Picking up bridge and shoving it up a Kaiju's ass is awesome, but bad.
Using a bladed weapon to slash the Kaiju's throat, inevitably causing a spray of Kaiju Blue to rain upwards and fall all over the city? Might as well have nuked the place.
>>
File: because it's cool.jpg (69 KB, 507x307)

>>31783150
i'm going to value one point of requisition at roughliy$500k, so it really depends on the collateral damage they do. for example, when gypsy grabs that ship and beats otachi's face, they would have lost around 4 points of req, but might be making 40 req by killing the kaiju without collateral damage.

however a lot of this can be held back if they get the job done right. it all depends on how lax the GM feels about it.

but as a rule, 1 req = ~$500k
>>
>>31783250
Eh, I can roll with that.
>>
>>31783150
>Using a bladed weapon to slash the Kaiju's throat, inevitably causing a spray of Kaiju Blue to rain upwards and fall all over the city? Might as well have nuked the place.

finally someone understands why not using the sword in the first place WASN'T a plot hole.
>>
>>31783272
req. points will be the main reward in place of something like gp, it just makes sense. anything the players need as part of their lives can be purchased by NERV or PPDC.

also, i'm thinking an organization like hannibal chau would come in handy if they sell the corpse to him for more requisition money.

The Jaeger blade weapons actually seemed to cause wounds with the same cauterized texture that the plasma weapons did. Maybe just CG laziness, but still.

i'm pretty sure that's because of where it was. one was in space, the other was underwater.

So The Last Circus..

>Working on Jaeger Circus (thinking of renaming it, cause its not just gonna be Jaegars anymore) thinking that they might have gotten there hands on some EVA/Jaegar Hybrids out of China Either by Discount or Illegally.

Possible Units in the Last Great Circus

>Harlequin Rodeo: Mark 4 ScrapBuild with Mark 5 Parts. Boasts that its the fastest Jaegar to walk terra firma. Has yet to be proven.

>Two-Timer: EVA/Jaegar Hybrid, Combines the powerplant of a Mark 3 with the EVA Frame. Heavy Modifcation to keep the thing together, so slower then your Average EVA, and not as well armoured as your standard Jaegar.

>RingLeader: Another EVA/Jaegar Hybrid apparently stolen from the Chinese, it was there best attempt to copy EVA-O1. Also has a Onboard Powerplant, ripped of a Dead Mark 4.

>Lion Tamer: Mark 2 Redux. Someone with a real love for that Clunker Cherno decided to make his best imitation. They say Mockery is the most sincerest form of Flattery. That remains to be seen.

As for how they get around, Suggestion; Giant Sub. Say the Russians made it.

>Russians are just crazy enough to build a Sub capable of carrying Jaegars. Call it the Big Top.

When it comes to collateral damage I assume there would be some things that the UN would cover without bothering NERV or PPDC about. Like road damage from footsteps or destroyed cars. However shit like destroyed buildings, heavy infrastructure damage, and ruined landmarks is coming out of their budget
>>
My input

>EVAs still rely upon a corded power system but for practical purposes have batteries that last at least 30 minutes, enough time for End of Eva freakout or a heroic last stand
>EVAs primarily based around major urban centers, as active defense units while Jaegars take the role of intercepting kaiju and offensive actions near the breach

Evas are monsters piloted by near insane pilots who hate humanity and this causes resentment among civilians, especially from the collateral damage because of the nature of the engagement but also resignment because of their effectiveness to pull through during the most desperate times.

Jaegars are the heroic knights who are loved by the population while EVAs are the chained beasts that must be used to continue humankind's survival.

Jaegars are based in shatterdomes while EVAs in large city fortresses
>>
kaiju are to be a point buy, a certain number of points per level (undetermined at the moment).
we'll have to make a list of various basic weapons, gear and modifications (descriptors that add to effectiveness and price) that we can put together, stat, and price for the rules for all the types (kaiju, jaeger, and eva) and a few for each that only certain types can access. (reply to this with names)

once that's done and we have a decent list and a basic character sheet we can get this on thr road.
anyway guys, do we have any other rule ideas?

Someone had an interesting story of Jet Alone being sabotaged, failing and the wreck being taken to the graveyard but somehow missing along the way.

Years later a kaiju threat that no known eva or jaegar could intercept was found in pieces and in a blood stained battlefield that read

Hey, you rolled a red for your Eva and a blue for your pilot. You now stuck the whole game and can't fix it. Bad idea, bad mechanic. The father son team are nothing alike in the movie and they did great. It's not about personality, but motivation and purpose. Think about asuka. She couldn't pilot while depressed on her period and hating her mother( her partner) shinji was a prodigy, but he synced best when he went berserk by fighting singularly for his survival (and his mom/partner created a more powerful AT field to defend him from harm)

I think it was decided to cut out Jet Alone leaving messages in Kaiju pieces. Other than that it could be a possibility.

i wasn't the one suggesting a roll for the personality, that was another anon. my thought was that the GM has several EVAs/jaegers in template form (basic stats and personality set in place for EVAs) and lets players choose between them and upgrade with some starting requisition.

obviously they test the compatibility beforehand, though i do see your point for sure and it could have been made more clear.

as i said, there is a gradient and you'll get what you feel best in unless some unforeseen situation has you piloting alongside a guy you don't like very much, or in the cockpit of an unfamiliar EVA (remember Rei, she piloted unit 01 before)

overall it's not supposed to be more complex than it needs to and GMs shouldn't be putting players at a disadvantage all the time. here and there is all. (and because i'm wanting to avoid making a personality clash too hard, i'll only have it at a -1/-2/-3 to keep things playable)

a degree or two of separation (like striker's team had) won't change the gameplay too much, just make it a little harder. does that make more sense?

In previous threads, people speculated about weaponizing kaiju waifus. Eva had a whole bunch of silly AU works (e.g. Girlfriend of Steel, Eva@School), so I had the idea for a side-story VN sort of game where the player has to, I don't know, set up the class schedules for some pilots (some of whom are totally not Shinji, Asuka, and Rei), or be one of those pilots, or be some kind of ops director, scientist, or ambassador. In any case, the AU is a sort of Daily Life With Monstergirl type situation -- i.e. the kaiju are here, and they're living among us, and we might be able to end things peacefully...unless the encounter goes sourly.

Tl;dr: Are you a bad enough dude to set up friendships (or romance) and achieve inter-species harmony?

let's make a quick list of the most basic weapons we can boil down to. if it fits into any of these don't post it, but if it doesn't make a reply so i can add to the list:

Blade
Cannon
Claw
Club
Fist
Shield
Spear

basically: if it's a knife/sword, whatever, it's a blade. if it shoots a projectile, it's a cannon, if it's a blunt object for smashing it's a club, etc. i'll add a list of known descriptors that add to a weapon's detail in both name and use.
>>
>>31784977
crunchfag here. i won't be writing rules for pacific rim ERP. if you want to rule it yourselves go ahead, but keep the thread clean so we don't get them muddled with actual stuff for the system.
>>
>>31785125
Hmm, should we have a different type for laser/positron weapons?
Plasma falls under cannon since its technically a projectile.
>>
>>31785171
How much do you want to bet this is the same guy pushing the stupid Kaiju hacker down the threads throat
>>
>>31785205
i guarantee i'm not. if that's worth anything. i'm staying out of the worldbuilding on this one and i only started posting as the last one 404'd. i'm just here to build the system.
monty's not a bad idea. i just can't dig it
>>
>>31785249
I meant the guy with the ERP, not you, crunchguy. My bad.

And Monty would be fine if he was straight up a godzilla homage, not lolsorandum "hi i'm good guy kaiju, haxoring all ur computrs"
>>
>>31785193
in the basic weapon types, no. but in the expanded descriptors, yes. here's what i have so far:

long (blade, claw, spear), scatter (cannon), piston (fist, spear, claw), plasma (cannon, shield, blade). acid (claw, cannon)

i know there can be a lot more, but that's all i've got at the moment.

On the matter of canon PR/NGE characters, I think we should try to keep most of them in some form or another.
It'll cut down the amount of work a GM has to do by keep infrastructure in place for NERV, SEELE, and the PPDC (Is that their acronym?). Nothing says they have to be truly relevant to the current game, but it'll give the player's some relatability to the world, especially if they've seen one or the other but not both.

Plus, nothing says a good GM can't change up some personalities too shake up expectations.
>>
>>31785371
>Plus, nothing says a good GM can't change up some personalities too shake up expectations.

especially when it's changing a single stat to one of the other five possibilities and having to act it out.
>>
>>31785354
automatic (cannon) built-in (all, prevents disarming without having to destroy that area of the bot)
>>
>>31785405
Hell, for the Eva cast, changing them up would have to be almost guaranteed. NGE happened in roughly a year, so if the GM wants to run during anything other than the opening years those characters would have undergone significant changes thanks to the years of warfare rather than months.
>>
>>31785455
EVA took place over more like two years I think, there were sometimes months between Angel attacks
>>
>>31785571
Well, looking at it the other way, it couldn't have lasted more than three or four years, and look how different most of the major cast was by the end of it. The pilots were all but broken, Kaji was dead, Ritsuko was on the edge IIRC, hell Gendo was the only one who didn't really change but then he was an ass most of the series anyway.
>>
>>31785658
Gendo had already broken a decade prior when his wife tanged and had her soul absorbed into Unit-01's core
>>
>>31785703
True, sometimes I wish they had shown us a bit more of early Gendo, just so he wouldn't come off as such a complete jackass. It's hard to remember that he's just as broken as his son, with years of keeping it festering inside him.

>>
>>31785988
Technically it'd be SEELE as the Kaiju cultists, with NERV believing the whole trying to save the world thing.
I believe we're thinking that Instrumentality in this verse is the creation of a Hivemind based off the Engineers and Kaiju

That still sounds like something they just do because they're Evil. Tying into the Pacific Rim, maybe they figure that if there's one civilization of genocidal interdimensional aliens there's probably more, and Humanity's best long-term chance is to get in the game as hard as possible. The Evas are mainly experiments to find the best ways of moulding humans into monsters.

>"There are two numbers in this universe, gentlemen: Zero and Infinity. Zero left the building when we discovered the Precursors. The Jaegers are effective, if our goal is to merely to defend our little patch of earth for another day, but in the long term this is madness."
>"To fight monsters we must become monsters"
>>
>>31785319
We made him that, next thread it should be changed to Godzilla like kaiju in the OP
>>
>>31785125
You could just go an extra level of abstraction and just have hand-to-hand weapons, reach weapons, and projectile; maybe further subdivided by damage types/keywords.
>>
>>31780494
Could one stick enough bits of evas and jaegers into a Kaiju to pilot it?
>>
>>31786579
not a bad idea. my thought was based on the idea of having a basic weapon type, then having descriptors give further advantages to the basic.

for example, an long-Range Plasma Cannon would:
shoot to a long range without a negative modifier
do electrical damage (plasma) with two extra points of damage
and be a ranged weapon with a base damage of whatever we decide a basic cannon should do.

as i said before, it's a way to DIY your special/unique weapons into better ones with time.
>>
We might want to consider a 1d4chan page for all the information we've agreed upon. Would help keep the first few posts from being recaps and new people wouldn't need to read every thread to figure out everything.

>progressing jaegers/evas

Some possible ideas for handling progression (not all of these are exclusive):

#1. Jaegers/EVAS earn xp when they are used in combat (the idea being the onboard computer AI/soul of the EVA learns) which can be spent to buy new equipment or potentially new abilities (if the system does end up incorporating them, that is).

The idea here is to avoid the sort of "social/combat" tradeoff you get in other games. Certainly, some abilities would stay with the "pilot" only rather than being purchased with the machine's xp (I'm thinking mostly in the way of psychological advantages)

#2. Players improve their equipment by requisitioning/making it to order, rolling against a particular metric or difficulty (perhaps some sort of "funding" stat based on their success rate against kaiju). Failures might not necessarily mean failure to acquire the item, but might result in either shoddy workmanship, delays in production, etc.
>>
>>31788155
these are alright ideas, but they add to the complexity of the game more than:
"these are requisition points, you get these for killing kaiju. the more clean and efficient the job the more you get. you spend them to make your jaeger/eva more effective"

as mentioned earlier, the jaegers and evas are only as good as their pilots, so yes, you could add a targeting system to the inside to improve a /character's/ aim, but the robot will only be using the character's score while he holds and fires the gun. basically, pilot's firearms skill plus robot's dexterity = # of dice for a roll. (because a heavy like Cherno alpha wouldn't react quickly enough to the controls to fire that sniper rifle.)
>>
>>31788393
Just remembered my idea for PC Rangers.
As pointed out, two Players per Jaeger means you'll only be fielding two giant robots with your standard 4-man groups, assuming all Jaegers anyway. It also means that two players have to cooperate during combat, which is rather boring since there's only one entity to control.

Instead, why not have a 1:1 ratio of Player to giant robot, where those who wish to play Rangers come up with their PC along with an NPC that acts sort of like a follower. The player sets up who they are, since a Ranger's partner is usually someone close to them, and gets to have some indirect control over them with the GM ensuring that the partner isn't used as just an extension of the PC since they'll be their own people.

In combat, the player assumes direct control of the Jaeger, since the drift system ensures both Rangers are thinking along the same track.

Thoughts?
>>
>>31788610
as it is, i'm setting it up so two players can work together in a jaeger, or a single player can control the jaeger with the help of an NPC. this spreads the options even further for gameplay. (also i'm writing up an actual version of the rules right now, condensing all the ideas we have so far.)
>>
>>31789021
Yeah, we don't want to stop players from partnering up in a Jaeger if they want to, I just wasn't sure how to make that partnership really interesting while in combat.
>>
>>31789109
>>31789109
we'll figure it out. my option was going to have players taking turns controlling the same bot, but i think i'll let players figure out what works best.
>>
>>31789325
Much as I hate to say, might need to give players who form a Ranger team some form of advantage to compensate only getting half as much robot as any other player. Nothing too major, but if two people want to roleplay, we don't want that to come at the cost of being suboptimal like DnD does with many of its more fluffy class choices.

Maybe some kind of minor plot armor? One Jaeger being piloted by two PCs gives it some bonus luck when an enemy gets a lucky hit, thus a potentially debilitating injury on a normal Jaeger wouldn't cripple them outright, just hindering them. Not unlike Gypsy Danger being able to function with one arm and, I think, a screwed up leg at the end of the movie.

Might even be able to give it in tiers or something if we can keep it from getting too op. PCs in general get a minor form of it, and those PCs who decide to 'sacrifice' part of their combat potential by being two to a mech get an enhanced bonus.
>>
Just wondering, what if a an eva's personality is randomized, but finding a certain trigger activates the embedded parent's filial bond and inverts negative synchronicity into a positive modifier; it would go a ways to mechanically emphasizing the mercurial nature of operating an EVA

Further than that, what if any pilot/eangee suffers negatives if their mood becomes divorced from its generated natural state but that that their partner or eva benefit from a more closely matched surface emotional state? It could also happen that two rangers who've worked to synchronise despite differences now have to adjust to the altered dynamic

I'm thinking insanity tests work on a d5 variation, failed tests shift mood to clockwise on a 1~2, no change on 3, and counterclockwise on 4~5; passed synchronicity tests tests shift CW on 1, no change on a 2 or 4, one category towards partner/EVA on 3, and CCW on a 5; failed synchronicity just shifts you one category worse up to diametric opposition

Passing a synchronicity test or meditation of some sort or another complementary to your mood and/or personality negates penalties from having a surface mood that conflicts with your core personality

As for how to run two player rangers in the same jaeger, what if one pilot takes the lead and the other adds half his successes and 1s to the act-leader's die pool, with autosuccesses if their moods are convergent instead of opposed; the drawback is that an act-leader who takes consecutive action without "recharging" his ego/confidence for a number of combat turns equal to Charisma stat minus, say 6 since this is based on wood, then they take a cumulative penalty to their dice pool until they stop being act-leader and let the other ranger take the reins until they're too emotionally taut to keep up the leading act. With act-leader taking authority and the partner supporting and advising, the changeoff dynamic can support strategies switching midway through the battle
>>
>>31789514
not a bad idea. we'll keep thinking of how to improve it.
perhaps a bonus to rolls? i don't know. i'm writing this as a standard giant robot thing at the moment that can be modified with rules in later areas for specific settings that can be compatible in the way of the setting we're attempting here. after all, why limit ourselves when it's easier to allow whatever massive bots we want in the rules? (though pacific rim is definitely the original inspiration)

In the end, we can have the ultimate giant robot RPG rules set for all of /tg/ that isn't limited by setting, that also allows out-of-robot play. can we all agree on that?
>>
>>31789913
Give me a few minutes to rap my head around the sanity and sync bits, but I have a few comments on some of the other stuff.

Firstly, do we want to do the whole 'parent soul embedded in the eva' thing? Seems like an unneccessary complication of their construction, altough I suppose if they need a human embedded, making synching with an eva a sort of 2 and a half person drift, they might get better results if it is a relative of the pilot. I believe Unit-00's soul was Dr. Akagi senior right? That's part of why it was so temperamental.

The lead pilot idea is certainly a decent way to control the Jaegers, and might be something to consider in some form even for those that are controlled by a PC and NPC team.
>>
>>31789960
That's certainly something I'd enjoy. One system that could feasably act as a basis for the whole giant robot genre of RPG's would simplify things greatly. Especially since being a mix of PR and NGE we're pulling from both sides of the Mecha genre. Both the anime physics of NGE and the more realistic PR, along with the darker tone of NGE contrasted with PR's more idealistic one.
>>
>>31790061
The core idea behind it, and I'm still playing with the dynamics in my head, is that sychronicity is tested and retested outside of the combat zone but in machines and by sparing with your partner or whatever, rangers have more flexibility in how they approach and prepare for synch, eva pilots have introspection, headshrinking, and protoeva simulator engines

Insanity, on the other hand comes up in combat and social encounters when the stress gets too high, eva pilots are vulnerable to berserk/white rabbit attacks, but a ranger team has two personality/mood meters that can swing out of whack because of trauma

Basically, jaeger teams have better stability but are at a higher risk factor when they desynch; eva pilots on the other hand fly off the handle in a diversity of situations but have the eva's berserk mode protecting them at the cost of collateral damage
>>
>>31790421
Hmm, thinking about it the Berserking thing might be one of the most controversial things about Evas and their pilots. 9 times out of 10 a Jaeger will simply shut down when the pilots suffer too much trauma, but an Eva will Berserk, causing more collateral, but almost guaranteeing a Kaiju kill in minutes.

I'm sure there'd be all sorts of people who'd want to take advantage of that and just as many who'd deplore it.
>>
>>31790421
Anyway, back to the systems you're actually trying to introduce, I think insanity tests moving a character's ... disposition for lack of a better term, is a bit much when we only have the six dispositions. If we were to add more onto the wheel, complicating it but also giving each slice a more precise meaning, we might be able to using insanity checks to move them around, but as it stands I picture insanity tests coming up too often for them to have that much chance of changing the character.

Maybe if the d5 thing only comes up if they drastically fail/succeed on a test? That way it's a deep trauma that shifts their personality.

Of course, you might not intend for insanity checks nearly as often as I'm picturing them.
>>
>>31789913
though i think you went a little too deep with the rules of it, perhaps a mood-shift from either the EVA or pilots is a good idea. it'll certainly keep things more interesting as some mood shifts can desynchronize, while others can cause them to synchronize better.

i think we should implement it somehow..., we've just got to figure an easy way to make moods shift. lets say a character has an average mood, and they always return to that with enough time, but something can push them to be a different mood.
all we've got to do is find out, mechanically, what that would be

As for the sync score sort of thing, I think I'm going to try to find my old AdEva pdfs and see if there is something we can crib from them.

But I think it would be interesting if there was some sort of weird pseudo-penalty to being too in sync. Remember that Eva pilots have to worry about tanging if they go above a certain sync score. Is it possible that there's some similar problem with two Rangers getting too close in thought pattern?

here's a remade one that focuses only on moods, movng a marker from one to the other and having written down whatever is the average mood of that person allows it to be easy to remember what your character is, while knowing what they are feeling at that time. once again, still trying to figure out an easy mechanic for shifting moods

the sub makes no sense scale wise, jeagers are huge and Eva's are only a little smaller. It would be a massive undertaking even by a super power the size of Russia to build an under sea vehicle that would be capable of launching jeagers, and even then whats the point as the sub isn't nearly as well defended as say the shatter domes and one hole and a huge portion of the sub is depressurized.

it would make more sense to put a couple of stolen cargo ships together to build a floating island and using that to repair and rearm jeagers; you could even put a huge camouflage net over top to keep people from spying on them.

>Santiago Pucci
A Brazilian who pilot Unit 15. Orphaned after a Kaiju attack on Rio he was adopted, unbeknownst to him, by two NERV agents who forced a rivalry between him and his foster sister, the one the deemed the winner would become an EVA pilot. After becoming a pilot he used his influence to move his "family" to America

>Michelle Pucci
A Ranger and co-pilot of the Mk. 4 Jaeger Emerald Shark. Originally from Brazil, she was orphaned by a Kaiju attack on Rio and adopted by two NERV agents and raised to be a rival to her brother. After unknowingly denied the "right" to pilot and sent to America she enlisted in the PPDC and tested to be a Ranger, half in an attempt to get revenge and half to spite her brother. She was certified and partnered up with her now best friend Trey Richard

Hey Monty was fucking awesome, he became addicted to the Culture and thus went rogue!

If you want to nitpick, I've got PLENTY of ideas for Kaiju Waifus I could vomit up!

Just like in real life.

Huh, so that's a thing.

>>31793362
Please don't. I don't have anything against it myself, but we're actually making progress again here.
>>
>>31793362
... not sure if serious. We kinda decided we all liked Monty but for the sake of the Vanilla "semi-serious" setting we decided he'd be best left as a Neutral Kaiju that grew an independence from the hivemind. Basically Godzilla. Defender one minute, Menace the next.

>Peta-Eva Doritos
Do want!

>>31793385
Then don't ax Monty man, he's gold.
Batshit insane alien gold...
>>
>>31793303
So kinda like how Jet Jaguar got made? He was a doodle by some gradeschooler in 1972 and made into an actual monster/robot for Toho.
>>
>>31793436
Personally I rather liked the weird hacker Monty, but I gotta agree with >>31793401 that its just too silly for this particular setting.

Maybe once we've got the 1d4chan page filled in more that version can be added as some extra material so GM's have options.

He's only a "menace" in the sense that he's a giant alien Python with scything talons and electromagnetic interface tongues...

maybe he gets into the internet and acts like a curious child but he is not really going to be a joke.

if you have jokes then post them but they aren't going to be cannon.
>>
>>31793385
Merchandising for Evangelion IRL is stupidly shameless. Maybe that can carry into the setting.
>>
>>31793520
Who said anything about jokes?
He's the Kaiju version of Newt!
He's obsessed with human culture, but doesn't understand that it's something completely alien to his being that's eroding his "sanity."

For some reason I'm imagining Gene Hackman saying this.
>>
>>31793535
Honestly? I imagine if NERV hires a PR head as crazy as everyone else with power in NERV that's exactly what would happen.

Maybe! Hell someone mentioned Gerry Anderson's UFO series in one of the previous threads. A thought: In NGE each pilot is designated 'Nth Child' as their sorta rank, where N is the order they were chose by the Marduk Institute as pilots.

Now, referring to them as children would probably only work until the war began to stretch on and pilots began to burn out due to the stress. Plus, as they began to cycle through pilots they would probably run through a lot of numbers quickly. Thus, only the first ten or so were probably given the Child moniker and every one else is simply given the rank Pilot. It could lead to an odd sort of respect for the initial Children and a derisive term against the modern pilots and NERV's probable burnout rate.
>>
>>31795444
Could play into the NERV PR marketing side of things, slapping the pilots with the "Child" designation on all the of branding and totally ignoring the later ones
>>
>>31784479
That is an interesting take on it.

Literal Ghost in the Machine.
>>
>>31783819
Ya, his name was Monty, A NEETBro Cat. 5,

I agree that in the Second JAEVA thread that his LOLRandom stuff probably should be cut. But Being a Kiaju for Humanity...I don't think that's necessarily needs to be cut.
>>
>>31795866
What if Monty was a prototype unmanned Eva?
The real reason they're piloted by mentally damaged children is to make sure they do behave like monsters.
>>
>>31795866
Probably not, the idea of him hacking the internet and being 'corrupted' isn't too much of a stretch considering everything else the Kaiju do.
>>
>>31795444
I dunno, I like the idea of the how the Child nomenclature could be a distinctive hook to frame a character. Yes, you could go maximum edge and make, say, the 666th Child, but I think keeping the designation system as is keeps NERV relatively more sinister feeling.

Yo MontyFag Reporting.

I see people of been talking about me. How grand.

>>31796027
To be honest, the original idea was Monty was a Cat. 5 Dataminer for the Hivemind, plugging into the Internet via Underwater Cabling. think of him as that one Angel from EVA, just a lot less malicious to start off with. His job was to gather info on Earth, the PPDC, and NERV and send it back to the Hivemind, but somewhere between Point A. And Point B. he decided that >>31782034 this wasn't actually a bad take on what happened. No he is a renegade,
>>31793607
>>31793520
This are both good takes on what might have happened after he broke free. On one he became super obsessed about the new world he is in and the people that inhabit it. Spending most of his time "Plugged In" and only coming out to attack other Cat. 5's that might posse some danger to him (And Cat. 4's I suppose.) OR, that he is simply a rogue monster that is out to keep himself intact at all costs.

And Im gonna gather all the Delta Dream Info here in a bit. Put it all in one post so it can be better accessed.

>>31791521
>>31791570
Ya, forgot about the Dual-Carrier idea, my bad. Good idea though. I still wondering if it would just be that ship unsupported or if it should have a small fleet of converted cargo ships and such attending it as well.

And I have thought of changing the Last Circus from Kiaju Groupies/ Adrenaline Junkies to a Semi-Legal PMC. Just a thought
>>
If there are two Breaches, one on each side of the ocean, and we want to foster a Nerv vs. PPDC rivalry, shouldn't one of them move to the other side of the states? Pan-Atlantic Defense Corps maybe?

I'm guessing Kaiju Blue is the equivalent of AT Fields? Something like...The purpose of it is to maintain the Kaiju's biology, even in environments where there are things like the square cube law. The toxic nature is like an Anti-AT Field, rather than tumors and shit, it causes human tissue to dissolve with enough exposure.
>>
>>31796370
I think that's pretty much what we've decided for their AT fields. I think they'd have very limited forms of it, since even if they have the Angel's ability to make use of it, they lack the individuality necessary for a strong field.

In the Evas case, they need a slightly stronger version to help compensate their lack of armor compared to many Kaiju and the Jaegers.

As for the PPDC I believe it was decided that they'd be renamed the Pan Planetary Defense Corps. once both rifts were opened.

Delta Dream Info GOOO!!!

A father and son team. The father was a Ranger but lost his co-pilot, his wife, in combat. The son was taken in by NERV and the father became emotionally distant and drank his problems away. The PPDC reenlist the father after his son decides to become a Ranger once he can no longer pilot an EVA. The two use the drift to reconnect with not only themselves, but the mother and wife that they lost. Jaegar "Delta Dream" Launching.

Dad: Samuel L Johnson
Mom: Claire Johnson
son: Kyle Samuelson

Claire and Samuel were both Jaeger pilots, piloting the Mark 2 Highborn Huscarl out of a European Shatterdome. the Shatterdome is attacked, Huscarl responds and is promptly destroyed, killing Claire and leaving Samuel and her 8 year old Son Kyle alone in the world. They relocate to the U.S. hoping to put there lives together.

It doesn't really work out. Samuel falls into a drinking habit, and Kyle blames him for the lose of his mother. In Spite he join joins NERV, which I believe is would still be recruiting In the U.S. but wouldn't have any Bases there after the Massachusetts Incident.

I haven't figured out what EVA Kyle would be piloting, but someone suggested it should be EVA 013 or 014 from the last thread.

Eventually Kyle is washed out of the EVA Program, but still wants to fight. So he joins the PPDC and the Rangers. its at this point that PPDC Un-Retire Samuel and the two end up piloting Delta Dream Together.

To Be Continued

Continuing.

Delta Dream is a Mark 3 Similar to Gypsy Danger. Green with a Black and White Checker Board Motif going for it. Weapons Systems include a Right Arm Heated ChainFist Coupled with Boosters to the Arm, and built in Electro Static Cannon for the Left (Tesla Cannon for Short)

Delta Dream has seen a lot of combat before the Father Son Team got a hold of her. She's been through two sets of pilots, and has been in the Repair Bay more times then anyone can remember. Some say she's cursed, but then again she's survived this long while others have simple just stopped.

and Finally...

>Father-Son Team Fight two Lvl. 4 Kaiju
>Alone
>Succeed in Killing one, sustain critical damage.
>Son hit by shrapnel/debris. Near Death.
>In an instant, reveals everything he knows about NERV, Its substantial
>Son Dies, Dad berserks
>Shatterzone Looses Contact of Delta Dream And 2nd Kaiju
>Two Days Later
>Badly Damaged Jaegur Appears of a coastal NERV R&D Base.
>Single Transmission before Base is Destroyed.
>"GIVE ME BACK MY SON!" .

Leading to the "Delta Dream Incident" The actually whereabouts of Delta Dream now are unknown, and it and its Rangers are officially designated MIA.
>>
>>31796221
I was suggesting that keeping the Child nomenclature allows players an additional angle or detail to think about when designing their character and gives insight into the way NERV views their pilots.

It immediately and effectively communicates this without having to do a whole lot of explanation. Figuring out how a player character responds to being identified as a number is a really easy way to beginning building a character's personality or coming up with ideas.

The other thing I was trying to point out that this of course will be open to abuse by magical realm players (the 69th Child), or special snowflake characters that players must make as edgy as possible (the 666th Child).

Putting Together Unit 14 Info. Its not much, but its something to work off of.

EVA 014. Created in Europe, Sold to the Russians, then Sent to Hong Kong on a Lend Lease Program. Suffered serious damage in Russia, and due to a lack of EVA Materials, replaced its Right Arm with a Mark 4 Jaegar Arm.
EVA 014 Codename Pariah Typically uses a Mag-Rail Rifle, while its right arm has a built in Chain Bayonet.
Typically Engages at Medium Range, then Closes to finish off its target using the Bayonet.

Red and Yellow Strip Vertical Paint Job.

More Commonly Known as "Won Armed Wonder" by both EVA Pilots and Jaeger Rangers. Used derisively by EVA pilots but endearingly by Jaeger pilots.

A little fluff to go with it..

>"Hold Position!"
>Shrike Victor halted in the shallows of Hong Kong Bay. They knew a Kaiju was coming, but iut had slipped contact ten minutes ago, and for all they knew it could be right on top of them.
>"Look!" Pilot Rose Maddigan gestured to the distant shoreline, where a figure had emerged."
>"So it seems NERV have decided to join the party." her co-pilot and long-time lover, Jacob Heke commented. "The One Armed Wonder deigns to give us an audience. Well, we'll show NERV how to kill a Kaiju, maybe they can learn a thing or two from us."
>Before he could comment further, the sea heaved as a monstrous form emerged before them..
>"Ready the Shrike Talons," Heke commanded. "It's time we gave NERV an example of why the world doesn't need their abominations to defend us."

Pilot(s) at this point are unknown, Kyle Samuelson might have piloted at one point before being washed out.

You want criticism? Ok.
The thick, black outline for the Jaeger works very well, but I'm thinking that you might want to get rid of the outlines for things like the eyes, tongue, and teeth. Kind of with how you drew the Kaiju's "tatoos" on the body, using different colors and tones for the detail bits.
Besides that, its pretty good.

“No. No. No.”

Malin rested her head on the desk, letting out a long, drawn out sigh. Eighty-seven new candidates to sort through. Eighty-seven dossiers to read. Eighty-seven different faces to approve or disapprove for reaching the next step in becoming a full-fledged Ranger. The light from her holo-display cast a neon blue pall over her surroundings as she waved away an Air Force sergeant's dossier on her screen. An ex-Marine came up next. She idly scanned through the psychiatric evaluation, the television bolted onto the wall rattling off another story on how Kaiju body harvesters were making unheard of profits cutting up the corpses as soon as they fell. She looked over her desk, through the glass observation panels surrounding the LOCCENT command room. To her left she could just see Coyote Tango's ammo shipments being loaded into the ammo racks across the Jaeger's back. To her right was Crimson Typhoon, streams of sparks scattering down her armor as gashes and claw marks were busily repaired. In the Jaeger Bay to the left of Crimson stood Tacit Ronin, arm blades gleaming under the harsh spotlights. It would be at least another day, maybe two, until both Coyote and Tacit were transferred back to their home Shatterdome. Her eyes drifted down to her watch. 2:37. AM.

She let out another sigh, leaning back in her chair. Going through the rest of the dossiers would probably take all night and a little bit of the morning. Fortunately, she had time—or at least, should have time: if Gottlieb's model was correct, the next Kaiju attack would be in the next two weeks.

“My, my,” an scratchy voice growled behind her. “Little bit late to be up alone up here, isn't it?”

Malin's head perked up at the voice, swiveling her chair to meet the voice's owner face to face. She was greeted with the site of an older black man, hair pockmarked with grey and accompanied by a thick, greying mustache. Smudged, light blue coveralls were accented with a simple black belt and brown boots. Malin, however, knew the man's face from anywhere, reading the nametag pinned to the man's chest twice just to be sure. “Miles?”

“Good to see you too, Malin.” The janitor chuckled. “Still working late, aren't we?”

“I thought I'd seen the last of you in Los Angeles. What are you doing in Hong Kong?”

“Well,” Miles said, stretching his back, “after Los Angeles closed down, they transferred me down to Lima. Nice folk down there, but I wouldn't stay if I were given the choice—weather didn't agree with me too well. When that closed down, well,” Miles grinned, “here I am. 'Parently, even though the world's ending, folks still gotta have their trash cans emptied.”

Malin smiled. “Well it's good to see you again, Miles.”

“Sure thing, Malin.” Miles grabbed a trashcan from beneath one of the desks and shook out the contents into a garbage bag. “Say—you see anyone else from Los Angeles around?”

“Well,” Malin leaned back into her seat, “I saw Rubi in the Mess Hall around two weeks ago—she's still pretty shaken up about that attack near San Diego years back. I also saw Ned—you remember Ned, right? The big guy with—”

“That damn white Stetson hat—yeah, I remember.”

“Yeah, he's around, too—not in Engineering, though; I think he's actually supervising work out on Coyote right now. Aside from them, I've also talked with John and Carla a couple times when I pass by them in the halls, and Dean actually helps me out in Candidate Selection, which is what I'm up to right now.”

“And I'm guessing he's still as lazy as ever?”

“Which is why he's not here right now, yeah.” Malin pulled out a silver thermos from under her desk and poured herself another cup of coffee. “So now I've got eighty-odd candidates to sort through, it's two in the morning, and Dean is probably off in his room sleeping his troubles away, beating it to Latina girls, or building models.”

Miles let out another chuckle as he emptied out the contents of another trashcan into another bag. “Livin' the dream, Malin.”

“Yup.” Malin took a sip from the thermos cap as she leaned forward, swiping away the ex-Marine from her screen and bringing up the next candidate. South Korean, officer in the ROK Army. 'Dandy,' Malin thought. Used to be part of the idol group N-ONE. Malin's eyebrow perked up at that bit. “Hey Miles, tell me whatcha think of this one.”

“Hmm?” The janitor hobbled over to the behind Malin's chair and leaned over. “What have we got here, Malin?”

“Ex-idol, ex-military, ex-everything.” Malin looked back, grinning. “This shit sounds way too good to be true.”

The janitor only grunted in affirmation. “Artillery commander, a record deal...acting roles?” His eyes squinted.

Malin shrugged in response, an amused smirk on her face. “Like I said—way too good to be true.”

“Mmhmm.”

“And oddly enough I believe it.”

Miles tilted his head. “Girl, what now?”

“Miles, you honestly would not be-lieve the shit these idols go through. Non-stop tour dates, acting jobs, advertising, modeling, singing, dancing—they do it all, man.”

Miles chuckled at that. “When I was your age, I remember when actors acted and singers sang—and when the two tried to cross over into the others' fields, it didn't end that well.”

“It did for Elvis,” Malin quipped.

“Elvis was an oddity—even in his time.” The janitor clapped a hand on Malin's shoulder. “He was also a soldier—just like this girl right here. I look at this girl here—you know what I see? Potential. Ambition. Real drive. You can see it on their faces, in their eyes. Some of 'em are just here for the perks, others the fame. Some just wanna wreck things. Others? They're here to genuinely help. Turn the tide. Make a difference and maybe, just maybe, give the rest of us a reason to keep going. Stacker has it. Herc has it, too. Those two Beckett boys have it. And you had it—even after that mess in Seattle.”

Malin let out a sad sigh. “Woulda loved to have gotten my chance handling ol' Romeo.”

“You may have a chance yet. I heard from down the grapevine that the PPDC's commissioning its second block of Jaeger orders. New designs, all Mark-Fives. First two are gonna be twins—no clue on names yet, though.”

Malin let out a light chuckle. “You know when I was going through training, me and my partner had a simulation record of thirty-seven one-on-one kills, and seventeen double-drop kills? All on Mark Ones, even though they had just finished programming in the Mark Fours.”

“As I remember it, you wouldn't stop bragging after every session.”

“This is true.” Malin giggled.

O'course, I ain't the one with the experience to make that judgment call—I'm just the janitor.” He gave the LOCCENT officer another wide smile before setting down the hallway, big black trashbag in hand.

Malin turned her attention back to her holo-display, pouring out another cup of coffee from her thermos. She stared down the girl's dossier photo, read through her combat experience and glanced through her psychological profile. She took one final deep breath, and brought up the selection screen. “Just like Elvis, huh?” She gave a little smile as her hand hovered over the icons for either acceptance or rejection.

I'll be honest when I hear Hesh i think the guy played by MC Chris on SeaLab... A useless loud weirdo responsible for engineering.
which segways neatly into this believe it or not https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xAuy22HdHY .
>>
>>31798629
>HESH was developed by Charles Dennistoun Burney in the 1940s for the British war effort, originally as an anti-fortification "wallbuster" munition for use against concrete. He also led British developments in recoilless rifles as a means to deliver the shell. An early application of the HESH principle was the Royal Engineers AVRE's 165 mm demolition gun.

Now for some reason my mind went directly to some kind of Thunderchild kind of scenario.
>Evacuation ships are being loaded up. Massive boats ready to flee the Hawaiian islands as the kaiju broke through Wall of Life.
>One thing stands between it and the civilian centers.
> a great iron clad Mark IV Jaeger.

And before I go to bed, has anyone done anything for those Chinese Jaeger/EVA Hybrids that were discussed in the earlier threads?

I already 'made' two for the Last Circus, but China has been making them (I Think) For Years now. how knows how many twisted abominations the have in storage for a OH SHIT scenario. Or, that they might be using now along with Jaegers and Standard EVA.

I wouldn't put it past them to be maybe working on some sort of Wunder-esque mobile battleship.
An Eva-based technological wonder, that functions as a mobile shatterdome. Perhaps. Just an idea.

But your idea has given me pause. For it is good and has great merit.
>>
Last thread an anon tried to shoehorn 40k. Stupid i know but it made me rethink the idea of a long range support mech.

-About 45 m tall mech
-Only one CCW, as a last resort
-Light armor
- Plasma And Maser Long and Medium Ranged weapons , Maybe Thermic missiles( Cauterize wounds, No KB)
- Made by Corporate Bastards
- Hired by Absurdingly rich groups, as personal mercenaries ( Please defend my oh so much precious private island in the pacific etc), along with useed as Jaeger and Eva support.
- Hated as thugs of the rich by almost everyone.
- Single pilot wired to the machine via brain implants , with AI support .
- Sync system similar to Drifting, but your co-pilot is an AI

PROS
- Brain implants makes pilots more accurate on long range weapons than Evas, and Better Reflexes
- Only of the three that has chances to take down a Kaiju from afar
- Most powerful ranged Weapons.
- Fastest of the three, Evas coming to a close second.
- Cheapest of the three, mass produced. Fielded in larger numbers than the rest.
- If Pilot is Incapacitated, AI can assume direct control .

CONS
- Weapons experimental. May overheat on overuse and blow up
- Brain implants might make the pilots go bonkers on high stressful situations .
- Corporate Bastards can self destruct the mech with the press of a button if AI goes rogue, or the pilot sees something that he shouldn't. Calling it an "accident".
- AI of each mech slowly becomes self aware, may try to MC the pilot, or refuse actions that seem stupid. Corporate Bastards know, and don't care unless AI goes rogue, in which case see above
- Kaiju Manages to reach you = You are dead .

Crunch wise, they will be like conventional forces of the adEva, though more powerful.

Thoughts ?

maybe perhaps its but the desperate last stand at the battle of hawaii after many an Eva and Jaeger hast been lost to the oncoming tide of Bardiel or Slattern. Hawaii the stepping stone to the Pacific breach through which only Evas can travel through? Lots at steak. Or is it stake?

First one Mech.

Albino Hawk Mark IV
Top Speed: 105 mph
Size: 58 meters
Weight: 195 tons .
Armaments: 2 Quark Multicannons, 2 Plasma Busters. Back Thrusters

The Albino Hawk is the main striker of the The mercenary Forces of Olympus Corporation ( Yep, It has a name now) . With speed to keep up with the latest Marks of The famous " Myrmidon" Series of Light Mechs, and with a Firepower to match.

The Plasma Buster, while diminutive compared to a Jaeger's plasma cannon, has one of the Highest fire rates in the Olympus arsenal, quite capable of being a pain in the ass to any Kaiju. Unfortunately, the high fire rate means that firing more than short continuous bursts risks overheat, along with a small range. The Quark Multicannons are however, the primary weapon , integrated on it's arms. They unleash a superheated fusillade of energized particles , capable of piercing the toughest Kaiju Bone plate, though they leave much to be expected from rate of fire and range.

The Albino Hawk is the mech with the Closest effective range of weapons, to the minuscule range of 180 meters. Thusly, Olympus Corporation entrusts it to the most veteran of pilots , with razor sharp reflexes and nerves of steel.

These mechs are primarily used as strikers. Once a light mech Lures a Kaiju to a prepared killzone , a numbers of Albno Hawks flank it using their superior speed, unleashing an unholy amount of firepower at point blank range. This Technique has brought low a dozen Cat 3 Kaiju, and At least two confirmed fours. Pilots are advised however, that Albino Hawk is made to dish out damage, not absorbing it. Many a reckless pilot thought himself invincible, only to meet hos end in the jaws of a Kaiju.......

So it's agreed that we're keeping the Metal Gear stuff to character expys and tech background? Like that one EVA Pilot trainer who was Sundowner, and the use of Gekko tech in Jaegers?
>>
As for the movie Jaegers, this si their status in JAEVA:

>Crimson Typhoon: One of China's deformed EVAs, hence the three asymmetrical arms, one eye and digitigrade legs. Heavily augmented with Jaeger tech to make up for its deformities.

>Gipsy Danger/Cherno Alpha/Striker Eureka/Romeo Blue/Brawler Yukon: Same as in Pacific Rim continuity

>Horizon Brave: The template for China's mediocre-quality mass-produced Jaegers before they switched to EVAs. Production currently discontinued, however a few remain. Destroyed Horizon Brave units are commonly harvested for parts to augment deformed EVA units with.

>Coyote Tango: Seeing as Japan doesn't have Jaegers in JAEVA, we'll just make this an American Jaeger. Its design screamed America anyway.

>Tacit Ronin: Still exists, but as an EVA. It's the most eva-looking Jaeger anyway.
>>
>>31800660
Pretty much, yeah. We'll use it to justify giant robots being produced in the early 21st century, and throw a couple interesting cameos into the mix when it would be fitting.
>>
>>31800726
As for the expanded universe Jaegers, here is their status in JAEVA:

Jaeger:
>Hydra Corinthian (Mk 4 USA)
>Mammoth Apostle (Mk 4 USA)
>Matador Fury (Mk 3 Mexico)
>Diablo Intercept (Mk 2 Chile)
>Puma Real (Mk 2 Panama)
>Solar Prophet (Mk 2 Peru)

>Lucky Seven (Never got a country/mark confirmed, but it's most likely a Mk 1 Australian)

that's the impression i got from reading the book. too much of a focus on the insanity for my liking. i appreciated the amount of detail they go into, but i'm getting away from that by only having insanity play a roll here and there rather than NGE's way of handling it in the show, which was having it present all the time.
>>
>>31799117
Well to help you out there, SEELE is actually the shadowy group running everything. NERV is actually the equivalent to the PPDC, and can probably best be described as people who wouldn't pass psych evaluations from any respectable company. That, and NERV staff is usually divided between those who don't know any real secrets and the handful of those who know just about everything and spend half their time keeping things under wraps.
>>
>>31799303
we're going to have a list of basic weapons, their descriptors, and gear by the end of this. you'll be able to make a jaeger/eva however you want, even as a titan, however, the fluff seems plenty complicated as is with two universes going on so we'll leave it to the players to decide what they want to do, and maybe have a sample jaeger or something that matches the description of a titan.
>>
>>31797600
Honestly, we're just not sure yet. The personality wheel and it's penalties to sync scores are something we like, but we're trying to come up with a system to make all this work without being too complicated.
>>
>>31800819
Huh, I didn't realize they'd named so many Jaegers. That certainly makes filling that out a bit easier.

>>
Not trying to be the Grumpy bear here, but are Personalities needed. I mean, there are many examples in the PR , where pilots with antithetical personalities drifted fine. Also, players shouldn't be force to have a certain personality, it kinda impedes roleplaying in my view.

A better Synch System would be like AdEva, with SR being the same for Jaeger and Evas, but with different ways to acquire it.

Jaeger pilots SR depends on the teamwork between the two . This could also enforce teamwork. They increase their SR through exp, but the costs for it are relative cheap, though you can't access the higher tiers of the increases if you are not on good terms with your co pilot .

Eva pilots can also buy SR, but on slightly higher exp costs than their counterparts. Also, they suffer more oftenly Such Disruption than Jaegers, who , for example, may have penalties on how much their SR increases/decreases during combat.Jaegers don't suffer ego barrier damage either

In conclusion, Jaegers have generally power SR, but stable, while Evas, have higher, but always in flux
>>
>>31801539
while i'd rather go without them entirely, it keeps to the theme of the settings. at the moment we are just getting down the rules so we can change them as we see fit in later threads. after all, this is the first thread we've had with actual rules. none of this can really be rushed.
>>
>>31801539
I'm actually going through the AdEva 2.5 and Borderline edition rules on Sync right now to see what can be cribbed off them.

For now though, remember that the player will get to choose their PC's default personality, and that the system's primary purpose is to add a simple and slightly realistic complication to the synchronization process. That's why the modifier to the sync roll is low, we want to represent the fact that opposing mindsets are likely to cause friction when trying to work together, but, as you pointed out, it is entirely possible for pilots with opposing viewpoints to work together just fine.

True. But, they would probably be unofficial nicknames given by either the public or one of the pilots. I think NERV likes having things as scientific and sterile as possible, so they look down on the PPDC's habit of naming all their warmachines.
>>

Also, remember the Enola Gay, the B29 that dropped the A-bomb.

>>31804568
Konig is Unit 12. I made it a few nights ago. All I posted about it is that it's optimized for ranged combat and has a female German neo-spartan pilot, so you can use it, tweak it or scrap it as you wish.

Yeah, I got that. I was just wondering about the Canal specifically, since that's where the last Shatterdome and Geofront are located, as of 2025.
>>
>>31807022
Interesting thing is, at about 77 km long, according to wikipedia, it probably wouldn't take very long for either base to deploy its forces on the opposite side. Might be an interesting session, if the group is made up of both Pilots and Rangers to have one set trying to hold off a group of Kaiju until the others can get there.
>>
>>31806926
Anybody want to draw a map of the city over this?

We'd just have things like "shopping district", "housing district," and the locations of the two bases and perimeter defenses. Hell, there is probably a wall nearby too, which might be a distraction for a few hours.
>>
>>31807239
Hmm, actually they'd probably leave off walling us in till last. I figure if you're going to put all your giant robots in one place, you can probably leave their section of the wall for last. Or Panama doesn't want a wall and that's why we're both based there.

I do think we need to figure out the city and what not. The NERV geofront would probably be build on the dryer west coast, since they wouldn't want to worry about accidental flooding. That puts the Shatterdome somewhere towards the east coast, possibly in the lake itself so that the Jaegers can just follow the canal into the ocean.
>>
>>31807428
>Hmm, actually they'd probably leave off walling us in till last. I figure if you're going to put all your giant robots in one place, you can probably leave their section of the wall for last. Or Panama doesn't want a wall and that's why we're both based there.
See, here's what I don't get: the wall in PR was kinda silly, but in this case, is humanity just totally walling itself in? Because, holy shit, there are a lot of things that depend on the oceans.

Yesterday we were thinking of something that could replace the wall concept, because it is completely retarded to begin with and two oceans to cover it makes even less sense.

Maybe an offensive system, rather than a defensive one? Something non-nuclear that can put a Kaiju down and has a massive range, so you only need a few on any given continent.

>>31807606
Even with gates, you've still got a new shipping hazard: the hundred meter tall killer monsters stomping about in the ocean. That's assuming they didn't break through the wall, too. Actually, how long can a Kaiju live on Earth? If one hangs around for longer than a few days, will it keel over?

>>31807669
It took more than a decade for a flyer to appear in the movie, though. Nobody had any idea they could.
>>
>>31807625
I've just assumed that building anything substantial in the middle of the pacific was just not feasible. Mostly getting it embedded in the sea floor and what not.
>>
>>31807606
>Only those countries that can fund it themselves get walls, leaving anyone else screwed.
Also, this makes no sense to me. If you wall up your coastline, but the third world country to your South can't afford to do the same, you're just asking for a Kaiju to make landfall there and come up behind your wall.
>>
>>31807724

Travis Beacham said Otachi wasn't the only flying Kaiju, so there were potentially some before. And if I recall correctly, the 4th Kaiju, Scissure, had wings. They were too small to function though.
>>
>>31807724
>Maybe an offensive system, rather than a defensive one?
How about the UN decides to try taking the weapons developed from the EVA and Jaeger programs, and tries building more conventional military units and static defences armed with them?

Plasma/Maser Tanks, HESH railgun artillery, Anti-Kaiju ballistic missile systems, etc. Which would of course prove useless as there is nothing to stop the Kaiju from coming ashore and stomp all over them
>>
>>31807724
Hmm, a Kaiju probably wouldn't have any problem with the air itself on Earth, after all Newt said we practically built the Precursors a better Earth to inhabit.

Although, it wouldn't surprise me if they had problems existing on land for long periods of time, since they seemed to be mostly aquatic.

>>31807818
Yeah, this is the problem with trying to justify a purposefully stupid plot device. Once you think about it too hard things just get screwy.
>>
>>31807858

We're dropping the stupid "pollution/global warming did it" thing.

SEELE experimenting with the old breach tripped an alarm that told the Precusors that the Earth did in fact survive the Cretaceous asteroid impact (which I guess will be the "first impact" for our purposes).

It's nothing more complicated than that. The Precurors thought the planet wasn't colonizable when it fact it still was. And now we're sitting in their old house.
>>
>>31807965

Slattern did take a much more powerful nuke at point blank and survived though. Even if he was a Category 5, it still proves that Kaiju are tough as shit.

>>
>>31808141

>>
Speaking of nuking Kaiju, maybe that's how Eva pilots are made. Nuking Tresspasser and a couple others released Kaiju Blue into the air, which got absorbed into the bodies of infant children (and poisoned adults).

So that explains why 15 year olds are the only ones who can pilot Evas. And also why nuking Kaiju no matter how far away from a city they are is a bad idea.
>>
>>31808186
Ohhhh, can we give them Big O style trains? that might work out.

You know, while writing up the fluff on the wiki page I spent like half an hour trying to translate the whole 'Only those born after Second Impact can pilot Evas' thing, but if we want SEELE to be the reason the Precursors came back we kinda need Unit-00 and Rei, or some equivalent, to exist prior to 2014.

I do believe that there was mention of Kaiju Blue having a sort of anti-AT field effect that turned anyone who got infected into Tang. Rather like that idea honestly.

The shifting version some anon posed before I think, probably starts with a pilot/ranger picking their set personality and then complications or trauma causing their 'mood' to shift around the circle, but given time to cool off by brooding or training or getting psychotherapy or even hitting the simulator for another synchronisation test allows them to bring their mood closer to their base personality

But ultimately, since the proposed mood system gives penalties for both your mood being out of sync with your personality and out of sync with the eva's/partner's own mood, I assumethe penalties are less if your mood is off but aligned with your partner or machine

So for every attitude wedge your personality and mood diverge would be a -1, but every wedge that your mood differs from your Eva's personality or your partner's own mood would be a -2 penalty with weird shit like tanging in the cockpit or white rabbits occuring if pilots/rangers stay at perfect sync ratios too long, so midbattle trauma. Rolls and stress reactions become important on both ends
>>
>>31808294
>>31808297
Maybe to justify the age thing, the pilots need to be exposed to the Evangelion during puberty in order to establish a connection? Theoretically, a Pilot, once exposed, could continue to do so into old age, but most suffer so much trauma that they can't maintain a steady sync anymore?

I had an idea for two different kinds of Kaiju blood types.
Kaiju blue is "Pattern Blue" that most Kaiju have. It's very poisonous to humans.
The second type is "Pattern Orange" blood that Lilith and the Eva have, which is LCL. It's present in Kaiju, but only in their brain stem and has to be carefully extracted or else the Pattern blue blood corrupts it.

As for Unit 00, Rei is piloting it and she's half-alien by default. She was never born to begin with.
>>
>>31808358
Hell you can maybe work in the "Non-Aging" thing from Rebuild 3.0 where in the pilots don't age due to being exposed to LCL, but then again that seems like a cop out.

Speaking of LCL, should that stuff still exist? Or is it going to function differently. IE do both Jaegers and Evas use it as the medium for conducting thought sync? I sorta remember a scene in PacRim where Raliegh and his Bro's suits filled up with something. Or at least it looked like it
>>
>>31808294
Rei could have been created when a mother working for Gehirn was exposed to some Kaiju Blue samples
>>
>>31808446
Yes, it should be a liquid derived from Kaiju Blue which has eliminated the toxic elements. jaegers wouldn't need it though, the Pons drift system is totally independent from the EVA sync technology.

In PR they say the Pons system was originally designed as a brain-computer interface for fighter pilots. While the technology behind EVA syncing came from the Personality Transplant from the MAGI computers. Which are based on an Ancient Kaiju brain.
>>
>>31808415
>>31808446
Hmm, working with the idea that the Evas are based on an ancient Kaiju or two found in Antarticca it could be possible that the Pattern Blue blood is a more recent creation of the Precursors, with Pattern Orange being the previous type.

Or, if sticking with Pattern Orange, and thus LCL, being they brain juice of Kaiju we might be able to justify SEELE needing to procure a Precursor from beyond the rift. Mankind had limited ability to reproduce the blood and needed fresh samples in order to create the LCL used in the Evas.

Also, I should probably get around to watching EoE and the Rebuild movies so that I understand the rest of the information we're throwing around.

Don't know if it's been mentioned before, but on spacebattles, there's a quest being run under the name Cherno Alpha vs the world. The system used there might be useful.

Don't bother with Rebuild 3, its garbage. The first two are great though.

Shut your mouth. Rebuild 3 was a masterpiece.

Maybe the 'orange' Kaiju were designed for civilian purposes. Back in the Jurassic, there wasn't anything that could make it bleed in the first place.
>>
>>31808658
Anno pls
>>
>>31808623
Rebuild 3 was basically a regression into what Evangelion normally is for me. It had neat visuals, and some cool ideas, but ultimately incomprehensible spiral into needless angst, with no one likeable, and everyone was a bleeding idiot.
>>
>>31808591
Or "Pattern Orange" could be the refined Kaiju Blue that removes whatever is so lethal about it
>>
>>31808666
No, the Orange kaiju are basically command units or terraforming units or whatever. Have huge AT fields.

It's why Adam and Lilith are different from other Kaiju. They're vital for colonizing Earth and the Precursors want them back. SEELE plans to use them for godhood, obviously.
>>
>>31808591
Iirc, Lilith's wounds are constantly bleeding lcl
>>
>>31808687
Which was fucking stupid because the first two Rebuild movies had better visuals and none of the other problems. And at least the series followed at least a semblance of logic up until the end, Rebuild 3.0 was just nonsensical even within the context of the setting.
>>
>>31808733
Maybe they could of trimmed the fat of the plot and throw in whatever happens in 4.0 with 3.0 and maybe that might've fixed things. Who knows I'm not claiming to be no expert.
>>

>>31808723
In this continuity we're using Adam to refer to one of the original Kaiju sent through the rift during the Triassic? Jurrasic? whenever they came here first, and got trapped under the ice in Antarctica.

Lilith is currently a Precursor recovered when Unit-00 and its pilot were sent through the previously dormant rift near there roughly a year before K-day.
>>
>>31808771
What Lilith is exactly is probably up for debate, but essentially yes that's the gist of it.
>>
>>31808764
Plot? There is no Plot in Rebuild 3.0, it is just a series of nonsense events that never amount to anything. It isn't like the movie brings up unanswered questions, it was just without any substance whatsoever

Its like he finished Rebuild 2.0 with the intention of completely severing any ties to the series, and make something new. But then he had zero idea what to make, and 3.0 happened.

Probably time for a new thread soon

Wait till it 404's. Just keep cool, man.

Anyway, I had a bit of a good reason for why Lilith is in Panama rather than a major country like the US or Japan. The latter obviously is because the raid on the Breach took place in the Atlantic, and the former is because the US wants nothing to do with NERV. Maybe it was being shipped to Japan or something, but along the way through the canal, Lilith started to wake up so they quickly sealed it away and don't want to move it any further.

So while it might seem like the PPDC and NERV are teaming up to defend against both breaches, the real reason is because kaiju have always been swarming towards the safehouse where Lilith is kept.
>>

Its just that the thread actually had some momentum going for a bit, and as soon as we hit 300 it died.

Also the raid was in the Antarctic, and I assume Lilith would be hidden in whatever Geofront the game is based in/closest to. Which like AdEVA, Lilith moves wherever the game is set. In the case of the 2025 scenario it would have been moved from the Japan Geofront after it was shut down.
>>
>>31809267
I think it'd be pretty risky to move Lilith when the Kaiju invasion is in full swing. That's all I'm thinking when I say that Lilith has been in Panama all along for "reasons."

Actually, that's a good point. Protect a mysterious package that attracts kaiju.

It seems to that the UN might not want to leave this operation in the hands of either organization. Under the circumstances it might be better to contract it out to a conglomerate of major arms manufacturers, who do after all specialize in conventional military hardware.

Global Armaments wouldn't be a bad name for it.

3.33 has it so that the LCL makes the kids immune to the effects of aging. It's eh, but it could still work in universe.

>>31810462
The Curse of the Eva was a nonsensical excuse for Asuka and Mari "not growing up" both physically and mentally. Just ignore things like that.
>>
>>31809267
Trust me, we actually had no momentum for quite a while before the bump limit. It just comes and goes for these threads.
