You tell the suit to feed. The suit grips tight while if feasts on whatever it wants from its unwilling host. You hope you're pain reduction worked as you watch him shrivel. The nerve damage is eventually too much, his entire body is limp while you let go of the coil.

Ragyo walks past you, to Nui. "Since Fate seems to be developing at a faster rate than we had expected, I think it would be alright if you went deeper."

You feel a jolt of fear not entirely your own shoot through you. "B-but," Nui starts.

"Nui, he will be fine, go deeper."

You feel the connection between you strengthen, and you feel Nui resist going deeper.

"Deeper, Nui," Ragyo coos in her ear.

Nui goes just a bit deeper, and you feel why she is restraining. Your body and your mind are both being put under stress by Nui. You can't handle it completely. You have to get used to it.

Nui struggles not to go deeper. She desperately wants to feel more of you, but is terrified of what harm it could bring. Ragyo says nothing for a time you could not properly keep track of.

"Retract."

Slowly, reluctantly and carefully, Nui pulls the life-fibers from your mind.

You wobble, exhausted.

"Don't defy me," Ragyo says.

The scientists finish with their writings, Rei stays silent, Ragyo watches you, and Nui holds you up.
