<Find a shard, try to get something defensive! We need to keep him off us!>

You use Suicide Squad!

>mana: 77/90

A dozen clones of Humanity appear around you. The graveyard is filled with the glow of dozens of white fires.

Erebus slams right into them, still swinging. A chorus of explosions ignites the grass as he's driven backwards. The remaining fake Humanities swirl after him like angry ghosts. He fires magic into their midst, blasts of Darkness. One of them goes out, but the rest merely waver and continue forward, keeping him hemmed in.

<Behind you, the shard!> Humanity shouts.

You turn and dash off as fast as you can. In a moment, you're beyond the edge of the tombstones, over the fence, running through open grass.

And then, you see it. It glimmers at you, a black crystal that looks as if it was shattered, and then cemented back together with white lava. Why didn't you notice it before? You dive forward.

A blast of lava explodes around you. You barely get your limbs around the crystal. You tuck it inside, and curl into a ball, riding out the wave of burning pain.

>you've taken 12 damage (60/81)
>you've regenerated 2 HP (62/81)

The lava subsides, and you're in the air. It feels like you're on the surface of the sun. You glance down.

No, he wasn't quite that crazy - but you're floating inside the caldera of a volcano. You open your wings and barely manage to dodge another gout of lava. Your skin feels dry, tough - you can't regenerate as fast as you normally would.

Erebus is behind you.

>con't
>>
You turn, and, instinctively, hold out your shard. It merges with your skin.

Your wings flash white, burning with flickers of humanity. You accelerate. The air warps around you. Suddenly, you're a dozen yards away, and Erebus strikes only air.

Another gout of lava erupts under you. You swing away to dodge it. You've got Breeze!

<He's controlling this place. The air, the volcano!> Humanity shouts. <I can still feel shards, though. Some in the lava!>

>try to get us a better battlefield
>just find me more shards

>attack Erebus directly
>continue dodging, time is on your side

Keep him off-balance while Humanity is attempting to change the battlefield back to something manageable.

If we're just content to dodge the whole time, he'll begin to focus on the shards themselves instead, which just makes Humanity's job twice as difficult.

<Try to change the battlefield, I'll keep dodging!>

<Alright!>

Lava flares. Explosions like columns of swirling fire roar from the volcano. You tear off and away above the surface of the heat, trying to get above the caldera.

You don't make progress. You rise slightly - and that gives you more time to react to the pillars of lava - but even with Breeze's speed, you aren't making progress.

<Humanity, what's going on?!>

<This space is warped, it's not something you can get away from. It has boundaries!>

A blast of lava explodes where you're headed, rather than behind you. You feel Humanity flare. The pillar is deflected away from you at an impossible angle.

The air begins to shake. The mountain rumbles.

<Humanity!>

<I'm trying! Distract him, or we're going to be in the middle of an eruption!>

<Where is he?>

<Below, near the lava!>

And you see Erebus - he's coasting the flames, seemingly untouched even as you're virtually surrounded with fire.

This isn't going to work the way you think it is; he's convinced that we're the Chaos Entity's last-ditch effort to try and turn him from his duty. He said as much last thread.

>Finally, he looks back at you. And disturbingly, his voice is unchanged, dead and flat. <Using my own memories against me. Chaos, I was dissapointed before, but this is truly your greatest effort yet. I applaud you. But I will win.>

He's going to see that sort of attempted appeal as evidence that we're out of other options.

Amusingly, the whole anti-Chaos war propaganda spiel he was given by his CO back in the day was making a big deal of how they kept trying to appeal to Chaos in all sorts of non-violent ways; gifts, emotional appeals, attempting to sway it with art and music, all to no avail.

Erebus is fully intent on hardening himself to the point where he's no better than the Chaos Drones were.

>mana: 69/90

It's a challenge - there's little water in the air. But it only takes a little ice to crystallize to enact your plan.

A flashpoint of steam explodes in the lava in front of Erebus. He opens his wings, struggling to right himself before he plunges into the lava.

The ball of Shadow Magic gathered in front of you fires a Ray of Darkness at your opponent.

>mana: 61/90

The darkness strikes Erebus's back straight on. While you don't think it hurts him much - his aura flares to his defense - the force pushes him face-first into the lava.

And then, the battlefield changes.

It's freezing cold. Snow drifts down around you. The sky is an endless grey blanket of clouds. In the distance is a massive black fortress.

The Frozen Hand.

Erebus is down on the ground, stuck halfway in a snowbank, rather than lava. He's throwing heaps of it aside, struggling toward something.

>>
>you've regenerated 4 mana (65/90)

You use Kindle.

A tiny flicker blinks to life next to Erebus, a slight mockery of a shard, a black crystal glowing with light.

You see him turn as the light falls on his face.

And then you're in front of him. Your Void Ring activates.

>mana: 53/90

A circle of darkness forms around you. A cylinder of black light hums, then roars. The very air in the space captured by your magic seems to bend and twist under the pressure of the mana.

Erebus struggles forward. His aura is being ripped off his skin - but it's regrowing almost as fast. He crawls another inch. Even if it isn't hurting him, he's pushed back by the force of the spell. <It will take more than that to stop me!>

You grab the shard.

It glows in your hand.

Hammer.

<I can feel another!> Humanity says. <He's starting to change the field again!>

As you dash into the distance, the snow behind you rises into a tidal wave of water.

And then he's right next to you, untouched. He blinked through the wave!

You both Blink ahead in the field of snow. It's a race of reactions. You both kick up clouds of white as you leap across the snowbanks.

It's Peace.

You reach the shard at the same time.You grab it. Erebus grabs it. You struggle and tug, rolling through the snow in a confused tangle.

-----------
-----------

>you've regenerated 4 mana (51/90)

You Pocket the shard. It vanishes from both your grips, safe and secure.

>mana: 50/90

<HAMMER!>

Your weapon hums in one hand. The front of your body is half melted into limbs and shadow, wresting with Erebus. He struggles to get away, but you manage to hold him steady.

Violet lines of light trace a cube around Erebus. Part of it envelopes your arms. Small sacrifice for this strike.

<You made a sword!> you shout. The air begins to shake. <All it can do is kill! But I made a hammer, because I'm going to rebuild this broken world!>

You slam your weapon home.

The arms caught in the blast are ripped off your body. The cube of compressed space-time implodes, then explodes. The space containing Erebus is flattened to the size of a dime. You're sent barreling backward. You slam into an icy snowbank.

Erebus is a puddle of Ink, but he's still moving.

The space begins to warp.

<Shadow, he's weak!> Humanity shouts.

<Where's the next shard?>

<Behind you, farther out!>

<Alright!> You swivel, and leap forward.

<A little to the right. Ok, straight! And...left slightly - straight! Straight! Go, straight ahead!>

And then you see it, a glimmer of black and white.

You feel something swim underneath you.

You slam into a wall, and through it.

>you've taken

You're inside a building. It's of odd construction. Nothing you've ever seen before. The paint on the walls practically shines. <...where's the shard?>

<Below us!>

You look down. It's just the floor. You drive your arms down and rip it up. Carpet fiber and wood is no match for you. It goes flying backwards. The shard shines in the space beneath the floorboards.

<BEHIND YOU!> Humanity shouts.

Holy fuck, I just noticed a thing. A really, really funny thing.

>El'lora
You hear footsteps. You turn. El'lora is there, climbing up the steps. Your sister is young, just 9 years old. Her hair is a yellow-brown blonde. She wears bright contacts to color her eyes gold.

"Hey Erebus."

"Hey Lory."

>Jen Fang's Diary

>Zek'ata is nearly at nine months. I still can't believe the humanization worked. I love her so much...the woman who will bear my child.

>If it's a boy, we've both agreed to Jonathan. If a girl, I want Laura, but she wants Abigail. I think that's a name for old witches, but she's really twisting my arm about it.

We were literally one stubborn baby-naming decision away from calling Abigail "Lory" also. (Instead of Abby, naturally.)

If Chaos really is responsible for this, it's got a sense of humor.
>>
>you regenerate 4 mana (53/90)

You leap into the air, twisting.

An arc of Void Bombs explodes underneath you. Most of the house is vaporized. They bombs blast through the other side, erasing it completely, and then detonate their way down the rest of the block, imploding away sections of concrete and asphalt.

A good hunk of your leg is gone, but you're in one piece.

>you've taken 8 damage (56/81)
>you've regenerated 4 HP (60/81)

You start to regrow your leg in midair. You're halfway back to the ground. Erebus is there, coming in with a fist and an arm morphed into a serrated blade.

You:

<PEACE! NOW!>

A shield of dark crystal ribbed in white fire appears in front of you.

The Void Bomb is unleashed. Peace curls about your front side, cocooning you from the storm of Order. You snatch the shard lying in the foundation next to you.

It's Retribution.

When the dust finally clears, you're lying on your back, resting on a tiny pedestal of dirt and cement that teeters over an abyss. The rest of the ground has been hollowed out by the rain of implosions. It crumbles under you, and you fall into the pit.

The world shivers beneath you, and you feel something change. You're not just falling anymore. You're getting pulled downward. It feels hot. The volcano again?

Up above you floats Erebus. He's blasted off with tremendous power - but he's not getting very far, very quickly. His backside glows purple.

You look back.

Erebus was lit up because you're at the edge of a massive red sun so large that it takes up the entire sky behind you, up and down, as far as you can see.

<Shadow!> Humanity shouts. <Get us out of here, now!!>

This is one of those things we can't possibly know until we look into it further.

If the energy from the UUEG is generated by the Chaos Entity, then yes, somehow killing the Chaos Entity gets rid of magic and then also kills off Order somehow as well via Mysterious Reciprocal Balance Action.

But if the Chaos Entity just happens to live in the same plane that's full of the energy 'chaos', if you kill the Entity, all that happens is that there's no Zalgo-text spacemonster trying to fuck everything up all the time and Magic sticks around unimpeded.

I'm really, really hoping that the latter is the reality of the situation, because otherwise it implies that either the Chaos Entity is ALSO responsible for the generation of Order, because the natures of the two energies are tied to one another or there's probably a LUEG Order-Spacemonster out there as well somewhere, and it just hasn't concerned itself with the Material Plane just yet.

I'm fucking calling it now.

Chaos entity is Erebus himself, somehow having taken control of the UUEG with the help of time / dimension travel and he's doing all this because he has to complete the loop or it breaks history and humanity never ascends or some shit.

we could totally buy 'The Call' with which to call Abby & Ila to our aide, this will probably cause the others to follow.....

the chaos entity is something pushing into our universe. by pushing itself into the material plane, it makes it possible for its opposite energy to also enter it, was what it said pretty sure.

the entity being alive and in this universe, or having its finger here, is synonymous with chaos being here. remove it/kill it and no more. then the end of its opposite number too.

Their natures may be so fundamentally different that Order naturally does not propagate itself as a living being/collective, it is easily controlled. So it doesn't form life on its own.

>Use The Call
>Everyone rushes in
>They just see Shadow standing there twitching in the purple room as purple lightning flashes around and our shards float in a circle.
Remember that this is a mental dreamscape mumbo whatits something.

Abby could probably dreamwalk her way in, but that sounds like a good way for her to get rekt. The owner of a dream is already stupid powerful even when they're not Erebus.

FUCKING FUCK.

VIGIL HAS THE POWER TO ERASE VENIA IN ONE BLAST, EASILY.

IT SHOULD HAVE MORE THAN ENOUGH POWER TO CHRONOMANCY THE LEAKS WHILE WE FIX IT.

ONLY A WEEK MY ASS, EREBUS. FUCK YOU.
>>
>>31660370
Would we even be able to do that without causing proportionally more damage to the core while we try and fix it?
>>
>>31660383
Order doesn't propagate more Chaos because it is not Chaos.
>>
>>31660370
>CHRONOMANCY
chronomancy is magic. magic increases the instability of the core
>>
>>31660408
Chaos increases the instability of the core. We can power Chronomancy with Order instead.
>>
>>31660404
We don't really know -what- chronomancy is, aside from a massive power drain.
Erebus did use it, but if it was an option in fixing the core, then the computer would probably have listed it.

If it doesn't damage the core, then my guess would be the power required would make the actual repairing impossible or so difficult that it negates the time advantage.
>>
I just realized that nobody brought up how the Elemental Lords all having names that (mostly) relate to Greek gods points even more towards Erebus shaping Venia.
>>
>>31660569
It wouldn't matter even if we did. Erebus is too set in his beliefs to change.

somewhere in alternate anime /tg/...
> F: Gattai da Aibo!
> S: <Hai>
Anime Shadow flies into the air. Anime Flint grows angel wings and flies while inexplicably becoming naked.
Expensive animated sequence of Shadow breaking down into modular pieces corresponding to each of his shards. Each of these pieces become a portion of armor that slides onto Flint's body. You can hear decompression as each pieces connecting with a flash of light.

Hundun! Chisou! Heavenly Balanced Gattai! Shadowman Knightto!
