Inquisitor Gregor Eisenhorn managed to convince you that the threat posed by renegade Quixos is so great, that no cost is too great in order to stop him. However the only lead to the mysterious heretic is Grey Knight Deiron, who is currently being held on Inquisitorial prison moon of Nobis. Your elite strike team infiltrated the facility and you have managed to retreve your weapons. And now you are going for the primary objective...

Thought for the day: Fractured armour is worse than bare skin, it gives you the illusion of safety.

>Let's unchain our little beast and take it for a spin around the block, shall we?
there's a chimera with an autocannon infront of us
Cavalry versus tanks, the eternal battle
We can only win this
>>
I'm thinking we hid in the shadows and let the infantry move int EVD-11 to investigate, we kill the infantry, then roar out with the bike and Sgt. Argos. Drive-by the Chimera and let Argos jump on it and kill the crew.

Then we have a Chimera.
>>
>>31412512
I like this idea, we need some sort of transport for the rest of the team.

Void Squad status report:
Mission team:
1. Chapter Master - Ironhaunt + Bolt pistol 95% HP
2. Brother Sergeant Argos - Powerfists
3. Brother Lakentos - Storm bolter
4. Brother Viordan - Storm bolter
5. Brother Asker - Chainsword + Bolt pistol
6. Brother Ciograd - Meltagun
7. Brother Darew - Powerfist + Chainsword
8. Brother Hull - badly wounded, 25% HP left
9. Brother Xanderos - Meltagun (can't fight, is helping brother Hull)
10. Brother Massar - Storm Bolter
11. Brother Filar - Dual Bolt pistols

You are inside evidence holding area EVD-11, in about 2 minutes a Chimera and two dozens of Imperial Guardsmen will be here, because you triggered an alarm. You may prepare to fight them here(there are plenty of metal tables and huge plastic containers to create cover) or retreat through another passage wat behind you, it leads towards the Low Security prison block. On the other hand, if you wish to destroy the stasis pods that you have arrived in, you'd have to go the other way, towards the cargo holding area...

In front of you there is a chained "Darkhawk" Space Marine attack bike, little gift from Gregor.

Note regarding bike fighting:
+These tunnels are used to supply thousands upon thousands of prisoners and guardsmen with food and provisions, so most tunnels here are wide enough for two Chimeras to pass. You would have enough space for some limited maneuvers.
+You roll Drive skill for maneuvers, speed and dodge while on the bike, however attacks are made as normal - with marksmanship and weapon skill(if you'd go hussar style on the enemies)
+Bike is armoured and can breach weak walls/unfortified doors, but I wouldn't suggest ramming blastdoors

>How large is the armoury we're in?
Football field size.
>Can the door into it fit the incoming chimera?
Not the one you blew up, but there is an entrance for vehicles. Bik can pass through any entrance.
>Are there any pipes/ledges we could move a brother or two onto, above the door? Preferably ones that are shadowed a bit to conceal brothers in ambush.
There are some, but you have VERY limited time and there are no obvious stairs or ladders to climb up there.
>Are there any grenades within the armory? Smoke, frag, krak. Lasgun charge packs for bombs?
This is not the armoury, these are evidence rooms of things confiscated from prisoners. You have retrieved your own melta charges(x10) and a limited number of grenades, but if you had time, you could search through hundreds of other boxes stashed in the room.

One of those few times when rolling high is good for you. Your digi-bling is safe.

You quickly organise your men to take positions around the breached blast door and to make improvised barricades. You order brother Darew to hide at the end of the hall and turn on his flash light, while you punch out all the main lights, only dim red emergency lightning. A few moments after the last marine hides, through the doors a few beams of light appear. One after another a few guardsmen carefully venture into the hall looking around. Their leader, probably a corporal, turns on the vox caster and reports:
>This Kappa-8, we are inside EVD-11, the hall is ransacked, no trace of intruders, we will... Wait. What is...
He turns to his closest subordinate:
>Jango, check that out, is that a flash light? Take position at the door with your squad, the rest - advance on me!
He lowers himself and quickly runs towards the end of the hall, where brother Darew is making various shadows on the wall with a flashlight. Meanwhile Jango and his men stay at the door. It's a perfect opportunity. You whisper into the comlink:
>Leave one alive. Fire!
Immediately first squad is cut into pieces by bolter crossfire, nameless corporal is the first one to fall. Jango takes a melta hit to chest and is evaporated before he can give any orders. The rest of his soldiers are killed where they stand as they are frozen by the speed of your attack... One of them tries to run away, but is cut down in the door. Suddenly you hear loud booming from behind the door, it's the autocannon of the chimera behind it. THUD! THUD! THUD! THUD! THUD! THUD! Round after round enters the door, destroying dozens of crates, penetrating metal tables and leaving fist sized holes in the walls, but Chimera is too big to enter through this entrance and your squad falls to the sides of the room, where firing arc can't reach them. THUD! THUD! THUD! THUD!

>Extended drum or standard!?
>Standard!
Argos now talks to you over the vox:

You have not had a chance to ride an attack bike since your training 40 years ago, but pure awesomeness of your new toy and the fact that Argos managed to count autocannon's ammo gives you enough of a push to perform moderately well! >How have you been treating her? it's important to something that might take place very soon.
She's technically been in captivity, but in reality is semi-free to move between unrestricted areas (restricted areas would be stuff like bridge and armour) such as between her quarters and ours. I mean I for one have never had any objection to her leaving but I was under the impression she had no way of contacting her friends and her divination power haven't been working so bueno recently, so she sort of doesn't know what to do.

pleasant enough to be around, I guess. The whole sleeping in bed together was a bit odd. One wrong roll in our sleep and she gets crushed.

>>
>>31414024
She mentioned her divination powers could come back on their own. If that wouldn't happen in the next few years, we might start looking into the risky alternative she proposed to get them back.

>Seriously guys, what are his feelings towards Adriel?
She's probably one of the few who can understand a person in the position that the CM is in she's also pretty hot , she's a commander like he is and has a mind that can actually challenge the CM
She's also entertaining company
Very entertaining company

>How have you been treating her?
Well, she's a captive and kinda powerless, so anything else than good treatment would be honourless, she was also nice enough to warn us and knows how to play regicide

=============
Despite the distance between "Darkhawk" and Chimera, Argos jumps on top of it and rips out the top hatch with his power fists. You hear screams from inside as he throws inside a frag grenade and a moment later there is a loud bang. He is too massive to fit through human-sized hatch, so he lies down on his belly and reaches inside with his arm. Apparently driver was shielded from grenade by his seat, so Argos drags him out, lifts him into the air and breaks his spine on his power armoured knee.
>It's done, milord! Chimera is ours!
+++
Once you throw out human-sized seats, you can fit in 8 marines inside Chimera. The rest can sit on top of it. Chimera is armed with an autocannon, there are 4 more 12 round magazines that you can use.

Personally assist the wounded Astartes into the chimera.

Oh, and see if we can't wedge the chimera's hatch closed again.

When you commend his actions Argos smiles at you:
>Anything for the Chapter, master. It was our teamwork. Good thing that you became friends witht that Inquisitor, without "Darkhawk" it would have been a lot harder.
When members of the Void Squad notice that you help brother Hull aboard, you notice tha their faces turn a little bit happier. Maybe this mission is not going to be the disaster they thought.
+You gain a dozen lasgun packs that you can overcharge if needed
+You may roll Tech-Use(-10) to crack the code to give false orders to other guards or you may listen in on their conversation with Tech-Use(+20) test.
===============
When you approach the bodies of the dead guards to recite the Oath of Quick Death to a Fallen Comrade, you realise that this mission demands you to walk the very edge of your duty as an Astartes. These men that you have killed were defending Imperial prison, protecting common civilians from their evil, just like you do. You can only hope that their lives were taken for a greater purpose...

It's simply too complicated for you. Maybe it would have been better if you brought a techmarine along.
>>31415112
You are lucky! This radio seems to have belonged to a guard captain and this sergeant borrowed it, so now you can listen in to both low level guard conversations and the officers! It seems that at the moment they are surrounding the EVD area.
+++
You quickly arrive to the rubble that is blocking the path after the promethium explosion you created. You decide that cleaning through it with melta would take simply too long, so you drive around, using other tunnels. Within minutes you reach the holding area. There is now a squad of Imperial Guardsmen there, they seem to be inspecting the pods, however they disappear a moment later in a cloud of blood when Apothecary Lakentos(who is manning the turret) opens fire from the autocannon:
>THUD! THUD! THUD! THUD! THUD! THUD!
He then turns the smoking barrel from the slaughtered squad towards your stasis pod and empties the rest of the ammo drum:
>THUD! THUD! THUD! THUD! THUD! THUD! We are done here, milord! That gate in front of us is leading to Low Security wing, and through there we'll get to Target Alpha!
At last, your mission seems to be going well. Now you are armed, evidence of your arrival here is destroyed and all you need to do is save Deiron...
