You were effectively like soul sisters already, and now you found out you're also related by blood.

If Ragyo is the final boss, Nui is that second to last boss who you didn't necessarily kill when you beat them and sticks around until at least the last boss fight. Doesn't mean they couldn't get full-body Mecha without Life Fibers, I mean, the DTR models are pretty good just they have some obvious design flaws and tactical misuses. But seriously though. Body armor. Kevlar and steel plates from Gamagori's uncle or whoever. Hell, just some composite armor like the Kobe guys had to absorb impact and back it with Kevlar to reduce ballistic penetration.
