All the active Officios at the time - or at least, those who cared - had, in a rare moment of camaraderie, pooled their resources to try and combat Walpurgisnacht as the preordained date grew nearer and nearer. Prognosticators, data analysts, shamans, soul talkers, and Culexus all burned through hundreds of Grief Seeds to try and divine just where Walpurgisnacht would strike, the path it would take getting there, and any weaknesses it may have. Most of them died in the process. Others witched out, unable to endure whatever horror had been revealed to them during their meditation. They were, at least, the lucky ones.The answers they finally managed to get were...conflicting, at least. Each group divined at least a dozen different locations where Walpurgisnacht would spawn from. More lives were sacrificed to bring it down to eight. Then, to five.With the countdown ticking closer and closer, the Officios scrambled to cover all of the locations - opting to destroy Walpurgisnacht before it could fully manifest to full power. It would be at the most vulnerable as it's ripping its way into reality from its barrier cocoon.[1/2]

In the midst of all the carnage and death, Walpurgisnacht came to being in the cold wastes of Siberia.And either by sheer coincidence, or planning, or even dumb luck - a unified contingent of the Second's Black Templar division and the Ninth's remaining Culexus were there to meet it."Of course, they killed it," Sayaka finishes. "Killed what was left of our Culexus down to just Omegon, and to a handful of the Second's Templars. The Witches that came before it also disappeared the moment Walpurgisnacht went down." Not as big as the general assembly one, certainly, but enough room for a sizeable audience, with rows of wooden pews instead of seats. The smell of incense is thicker inside, but not overpowering. Lending the hall a sort of serene calm, combined with the almost impenetrable silence within.It's also here that you see that the walls are covered in pictures.[3/4]

>>31186304I think it is in a roundabout way Midori's fault. She's the intruder, in a technical sense; it was never planned that she survives. She was supposed to get pasted by Chiaki. So all the things you see uneccesarily nserted into, where you think only MAI ANGEL Midorin belongs, were actually planned out to be Wendy's spots, so now it looks like those spots are doubly occupied. What you're seeing is not forcing the character, it's just the way it already was, you're only now finding out about it.
