You don’t quite know what, exactly, this nocturnal military joint exercise consisted off, but at least it’s a good sign, for both Rhy, Gil and Ame aren’t simply going to twiddle their thumbs and speak of alliance, although the speed of it all… it’s almost suspicious. Nevertheless, you were able to enjoy a single hour in relative peace; after your discussion with Daiyu the succubus requested to accompany you as Tsukiyomi and Ame-no-Uzume were busy talking with the swordsman and her insistence had you come back to the library after a quick tour of the hall revealing the poignant absence of two blonds, a congregation of soul links also reinforced your need to encroach onto this dangerous area as, after all, the girls were being merry despite standing right beside a hole of dark tar, a vital talent to ignore the elephant in the room and calm down from the crushing stress of warfare. With the notable absence of a certain Tanuki, you enjoyed a much too brief respite amidst the best of company.--‘’Ssh… don’t ask needless things’’

At the entrance of the basement you spotted an unlikely duo, Daiyu Jawahir was still inside her full body pilgrim costume despite the wings straining slightly on the fabric; beside her was the tall green scaled she-dragon Fendall whose breath constantly erupted in flames while scoffing in laughter or some other expression, her inherent grace and pride made the scales covering her eyes something of a non-issue, nevertheless the two maiden looked engaged in something serious and you entertained the thought of actually talking with them until business calls…Finally there was a little odd one out managing to make herself forgotten, sitting by her lonesome with an uncharacteristic rain cloak covering her upper body, a thick green scale poke out from behind her waist and bent to rest on her thigh as Athena looked positively… absent of mind, to put it simply. Quiet and interdict, the lizardwoman wasn’t making any move to interact or socialise, simply content in being apparently forgotten you combed the Soul Link from some hints and met a suspicious wall of indifference and controlled emotions rivalling Hadraniel discipline, eyes closed in some kind of contemplation you’d have easily completely forgotten about her until business call and, momentarily, you remember yesterday carefree night where she kissed you passionately. This peculiar subject was completely avoided up until now.As you remember Hadraniel sentence, you can’t help but feel slightly lost ‘’something you should do’’ is a broad topic however, whom do you wish to talk to before this exorcism, Siegfried? You will not have time to do anything else.

You wiggle yourself from Emeth grasp out of necessity which eliciting a pouting half-grunt from the golem who stay hot on your heels while you make your way toward the lonely knight; while she may have willingly rejected the order after her corruption you’ve always seen her with a certain gallantry inherent to these encompassing chevaliers, the first impression when you woke up in the field of skeleton stuck to this day.She pick up upon your arrival, brilliant eyes locking you in a absent minded gaze as you silently make your way beside her, her only seat resting beside one of the wooden columns made it impossible for you to make yourself comfortable but you still stopped right next to her while Emeth gave you some space while simultaneously standing vigil.It takes a few long seconds to break an increasingly awkward silence, a hard to define emotion trickle down the link, hinting at some kind of resolution.‘’Hi’’ Her voice is dry yet not unfriendly, her features tense slightly as she rub her arm, movement nearly poking through her thin rain cloak. She doesn’t turn to look at you, instead concentrate on the agitation of the table, and something with the slime seem to have thrown the surrounding girls in a slight uproar as you felt a surge of Holy and a clamor.

A grim prospect indeed, the memories of this event, the spirited slap and emotional speech to make her understand her worth and the memento of the gem given to her as obligation bring a smile to your face.‘’You won our fight… where I come from, that should make me your wife or servant for a year in order to regain my honor, but I’m not an amazon anymore’’You’ve never quite pictured the Oni-Lizardman clan to be this drastic with tis duels… however a society functioning on might and honor isn’t one you’ve grown up in; nor did you destroy your homeland, unlike Athena whose sin consist of being fooled by the church, resulting in her entire people making an exodus to Zipangu. ‘’Why would you ask that?’’ You decide to change the morose subject, prodding her gently on her scalp you run your hand with a mixture of care and affection, which cause a downward glance as she’s adamant in avoiding your gaze while the monstrous arm hint itself as she absent mindedly move the appendage, poking its dark flesh out of the cloak.

This is probably why she was seemingly completely outclassed, and also the reason why Ame-no-Uzume jumped into the ring to save her life and defy the very will of that martial society.It’s almost a miracle that the alliance still happened despite these events.

She most likely already knew that she –had- to lose that duel anyway, for politic always trump honor. Trials by combats have always proved themselves to be useless smoke screen.The door to the library opens slightly, provoking an audible protesting groan as the old wood struggle, cutting off all the conversation mid speech; Tsukiyomi-no-Mikoto gallant self-take the first step inside, obfuscating the exit with her tails as her brilliant golden eyes look over this homely assembly.‘’I trust were ready, friends?’’ Her voice isn’t booming, she’s speaking with a friendly familiarity that sound almost out of place with dark colored kimono and large crown of tails extending in a giant profile.Are you, Siegfried?

Resounding ayes answered the queen-mother query, making her step aside while curling her tails around her arms and body for space, allowing her daughter to step through the relatively small doorway, the long dark haired kitsune is visibly in no mood for game as her features have hardened in purpose, only hints of nervousness coming from the slithering pale tails behind her; the march of the fluff is ended by a young man clutching the pommel of his holy sword looking halfway between reluctant and determined, the trio was also accompanied by a squad of priest, the very same that were chased off by Ran a few hours ago; now magic constantly filtered through the walls of the corridor as they started placing talismans and ofudas.‘’You’ve no reason to lose this fight, Athena. I fully expect you to win’’She finally shows a smile as a sweet laugh escape her lisp before standing up.--One advantage of assaulting the lair of a half-sentient entity of pure corruptions lies with the opportunity of preparation, with Tsukiyomi, Ame and Zechariah present a good number of the girls were forced to exit at Daiyu insistence; the young swordsman had an obvious begrudging expression as he looked toward the Demon Lord who, slowly, shed off her disguise for ‘’ease of movements’’, allowing hips and head wings to spread once the vast majority of the company were forced outside, leaving You, Athena, Zechariah, Ame-no-Uzume, Tsukiyomi and of course Hadraniel as sole actors of this play(Emeth needed some convincing of course, but Mylen was strangely docile…). A good number of the tables had been displaced as well, with the large wooden bookcase near the basement shoved out of the way, a makeshift bed of two closely joined heavy wooden desk lied in the middle of the room while a few others saw several magical materials as Tsukiyomi summoned a small dimensional rift, taking out several ofudas and straps decorated in magical runes.
Hadraniel had taken some time alone to mediate deep inside the library, with Daiyu on her lonesome while Tsukiyomi, Ame and Zechariah observed the basement for the very first time, you gave the Demon Lord a visit with Athena on your side as she, seemingly, didn’t know where to go.‘’I assume we’ll be getting a surge in corruption?’’‘’Yes, it’s impossible to truly predict what’ll happen tonight so I preferred to keep those liable to infection out of reach, were already completely sealed by the ofudas now and I suspect your dear brother has a few holy mages coming just to be sure.’’Her cute little head wing flap gently as she turn toward you after finishing her chore, gluing a good portion of Tsukiyomi magical papers on the two joined wooden tables.‘’I know the first part of this exorcism ride on Hadraniel shoulders, but what about Athena?’’ Daiyu attention shift toward the lizardgirl and, surprisingly, she take a step closer to give her scalp a motherly pat, something that didn’t look entirely unwelcome from the knight who stood there silently, if not submissively. She’s probably helpless, being sick and relying on others to cure you is always frustrating for warriors. ‘’We’ll have to use hypnosis on the both of you as you share a link. I and Zechariah will try to make this job easier but… I can’t promise anything; it’ll be a pure battle of emotions, my dear’’ This time her hand slide toward the half-scaled cheek of the brunette before letting go, Athena didn’t react much at this contact as her brows furrowed in a mixture of emotions while her mind entered a pre-battle haze, completely blocking off the link just like Hadraniel as they settled themselves for mortal dangers.
’What exactly will you and that man do?’’As you spoke you saw the Embodiment emerge from her lonely sanctuary, her very form projected an impeccable aura of righteous determination; wings flapping gently, bright golden halo shining like a flame in darkness light itself seem to exude from her body as she loudly made her way toward the center of the library, with Tsukiyomi and Ame coming as well, some figments of conversations coming your way ‘’You understand now, Zechariah?’’ To which he replied with a focused ‘’Yes’’, his eyes crossing yours with renewed vigor and spirit. ‘’I’ll coax that nasty little thing out of hiding while Zechariah will act on the soul… but I’ll explain it later’’She wave sideway as a constant metallic thump beat constantly like a heart, Hadraniel tapping the ground with the staff of her halberd.‘’Perhaps you ought to speak to her before she goes…’’Maybe you should, do you have anything specific to say to this Embodiment, mister Shieffer?

I'll be waiting at the end for you, please remember that."You indulged yourself at the end of these simple words, running your hand along the length of the pure white wing, its long ale feathers and constant wind a joy to touch, the large appendage fold before you can fully indulge yourself and now, the blue-clad angel has turned to face you, eyes shining like a tropical ocean in midday.‘’Our past shape the future but I’ve at least the chance to do something about it, to decide for myself what I want’’Her hard, yet loving hand caress your cheek as she break the stare to look behind at the congregation of women and a single man, Athena making herself very quiet and small.‘’That’s not a chance available for everyone. ‘’I haven’t been attentive enough up till now but… she’s a very sad girl’’It’s as if she’s somehow a nexus for soul link, her gaze reluctantly leave the knight and she turns, folding her wing and pushing you away gently, yet still her voice flows in a whisper.‘’Please don’t fail this time’’--She disappear quickly afterward, her stride a quick, decided one akin to a war march with enough grace to rival an entire parade, the inner light of the golden halo is engulfing in pure dark as her tall form descend into darkness, five steps and she’s gone, only the resounding echo of clacking metals continue to tell of her descent until fog obfuscate the opening while disgusting dark tar flow out from the soil.She’s gone, just like that; the soul link is cut, her emotions impossible to decipher as a sense of distance make identification impossible aside from one certainty.She’s alive.‘’Now we wait’’Ame-no-Uzume was the one to speak, the total silence of the library causing an echo as everyone is, evidently, dealing with this agony; the coming stress of battle is a torture of its own, everything on the angel shoulders and there isn’t a damn thing you can do about it, not even glance at the battle. As you make your way, you knock upon the surrounding furniture slightly as frustrated sighs escape your lisps, your passing of Tsukiyomi provoke a gentle rub from her tail but… for now…What do you do, mister Shieffer? I previously said that I and Zechariah will work together on the exorcism, I’ll be coaxing the creature out of hiding and force it inside the demonic arm with corruption while Zechariah…’’She stops to look at the swordsman, Redemption safely nestled in its scabbard, he nod at her to continue and she does with a little flap of her cute head wings. ‘’Will stabilise you soul, Athena. It’d be safer – and faster- to imagine some kind of road or bridge, but if you feel like you need it, then try to remember an area you know well from your memories, as imagining it and impose it in a world of chaotic emotions will have you win half the battle.
