You find your Equerry, predictably, in Kyoko's infirmary floor room, and as you burst in to drag her out - it's here that you take a brief moment to stop and blink. Despite the fact that she'd been on the same mission as you, for the majority of last night and this morning - Sayaka doesn't even look sleepy or tired. In fact, she looks like she'd just punched in for work, after a good night's sleep, a long shower and a hearty breakfast.

...And speaking of breakfast, you've burst in on her feeding it to her temporarily-dismembered better half. The latter grinning and greeting you energetically as you come into view. You return the greeting yourself as you take your hat off, tucking it under your arm.

"For fuck's sake, Murderface," Your blue-haired Equerry snaps at you, one ungloved hand holding what appears to be a spoonful of rice and fried egg to Kyoko's mouth, and the other held underneath said spoon. "Fucking knock next time, I almost made a mess here."

...Yeah. Sorry about that, you apologize.

Sayaka grunts here, shaking her head mildly as Kyoko opens her mouth obediently to give the food airplane permission to land. Even saying 'Aaah' as she does so, like an obedient child.

"What're you doing here, then? Aren't you supposed to be going to that certification ceremony?" The blue-haired Eversor glances up at the dial clock on the room's wall. "That's in fifteen minutes, right? You don't want to be late for that, Murderface, they'll be expecting you."

You know that, yeah. She doesn't need to remind you.

"But that's no fun at all!" Kyoko complains from her bed, opening her mouth again for the next spoonful.

"That's what I'm here for," Your blue-haired Equerry smiles. "To kill all fun from the world until there is nothing left but non-fun." It's here that she looks up at you from her seat beside Kyoko's bed. "No, seriously, Murderface. What're you here for?"

You don't see the point of beating around the bush, here, so you'll just come out and say it: you're here to drag Sayaka from this picture-perfect, husband-and-wife scene to accompany you to these damned ceremonies. Not that you really want to break up the said scene, and all.

At this, you get a sight of just how different the couple are, and at the same time how perfect they are for each other. Both of them immediately go red at the exact same time as a reaction - but where Sayaka's is spiced with a deepening scowl, Kyoko's is lightened with a bashful grin and an embarrassed laugh.

"...Well, at least you're honest about it." Sayaka says finally after a few moments, her obviously displeased scowl softening somewhat. It's here that she takes the plate of food from her lap and places it on Kyoko's own. "I want you to finish this, alright? Follow everything the nurses say. I don't want to hear about you not taking your medicine because it's bitter. Only kids do that."

"Yeah, yeah." Kyoko shakes her head. "Alright, already, I get it! I'm not a kid anymore!" It's here that her voice drops to a murmur. "An' you're embarrassin' me in front of Murderface!"

Sayaka glances at you for the briefest of moments, before turning back to the red-haired Eversor. "So? It's only Murderface. You have to heal up properly, alright? No more of that Maximum nonsense until you're cleared for active duty again."

It's...it's 'only' Murderface?

Fine, Sayaka's said a lot of uncharitable things about you in the past - and within earshot, too - but that sounded as if you didn't matter at all. It hurt just as much as 'watch-wearing dildo'.

"...Yeah, okay." Kyoko murmurs, looking down and starting on her breakfast. You see Sayaka smile here, before leaning forward and placing a kiss on her partner's cheek. It's here, too, that you catch her whispering something into the Eversor's ear, one that makes Kyoko go as red as...well, her own hair.

The both of you continue to walk towards your destination - and you reach it quickly enough, with two minutes to spare, just like she predicted. It's the Officio's General Assembly Hall, a large conference room used mainly for all-hands meetings, important announcements, and rank-wide gatherings like certification ceremonies. The both of you stop just by the doors, and you could hear the hushed chatter coming from behind them.

"Right." It's here that Sayaka suddenly yawns from behind a gloved hand. "Guh. Can't wait till Kyuubey lets me punch out. Almost falling asleep here."

"Eversor tricks, idiot." The blue-haired Eversor smirks, before taking her place beside you. "It's easy enough, though, even if you're just a Vindicare. You just have to get good."

You ignore the strange warmth suddenly emanating from your hat. Whatever's inside it can go fuck itself - you're going to walk under your own power, without being controlled by anything else. You're the one leading this outfit, and not some lust demon from outer space sealed inside a fucking symbol of office - if Pinky was even telling the truth.

"Short strides, starting with right foot, Murderface. Keep pace with me," Sayaka murmurs beside you in a stage whisper. "Eyes front, deep breaths. And...go. Now. ...Right foot. RIGHT FOOT. NO, NOT YOUR LEFT!"

It's with a grimace that you started off with your LEFT foot here - but even with that, Sayaka immediately adjusts to synchronize with your movements, seemingly having delayed her own first step to wait for yours. You breath a sigh of relief here, before realizing that she's letting you set the pace, rather than you following hers. Her doing most of the work rather than you.

...Yeah, alright. You get into fights a lot, as Warmaster and Equerry. And even Mami will admit that your relationship with the Blueberry is rocky at best, and homicidal at worst.

But there's no hiding the fact that Sayaka, for all her flaws and general prickliness at having to work with you closely - is actually being a very good Equerry.

Probably better than you actually deserve, too.

You keep in time perfect pace with Sayaka the rest of the way to the front of the assembly hall, where your throne should be. Every carefully-measured step, you acutely feel a thousand pairs of eyes on you, watching your every move, measuring, weighing.

The hat had never felt heavier in all the times you've worn it.

You do your best to ignore it, though - keeping the set expression of silent, grim determination plastered on your face, focusing on nothing else but keeping in time with the Blueberry beside you.

Following Dildoes' advice, you step lightly, yet plant your feet into the red carpet with conviction. You keep your strides in a straight line, instead of wobbling all over the place. Shoulders back, chin raised, and with just a tiny bit of sway in your posterior. Both your hands held in two loose fists rather than clenched ones.

"Good. Very good. Eyes narrowed just like that. Don't smile - always be on the verge of a disapproving frown." You could almost imagine Dildoes flitting around you, checking out your every angle obsessively, and snapping out instructions. She seems the person to get particular over the smallest things, anyway.

"And now for the finale." You hear her whisper as you near the throne itself. "The blue one will step aside here. Continue walking, and then when I say so--"

Yeah. You get it. Spin on your heel, and with your right hand--

And true enough, two steps later - Sayaka breaks away from you, moving to stand by your throne. You do it just like you said you would - a quick spin on your heel clockwise, to face your audience, just as you reach up with your right hand. The soft, silky black length of your ponytail hooks onto your curled fingers, slipping through them - and you flick the entire mass over your shoulder just as you open your momentarily-closed eyes.

The hushed, collective gasp you hear makes it all very nearly worth it. Most of all, Sayaka's surprised, gaping expression.

"How did you--" She starts to hiss, but she's quickly beaten to the punch by the small, bespectacled form of Rea Ashford standing behind a black podium, the girl's lack of height remedied by a wooden box on her feet. Speaking into a microphone, her voice is amplified by speakers on the ceiling, magnifying what should be a quiet, deadpan murmuring into something loud and clear.

"The Vindicare Rank, as assembled here on this day, welcomes and cherishes our beloved Warmaster's participation."

A few claps - merely a scattering at the left part of the hall - but it soon spreads into an almost riotous applause. You merely nod at this, but in actuality you're just lowering your head so the hat's visor conceals your reddened cheeks. Another trick.

"Let us all be seated." Rea says. You take a seat upon your throne - it's a rather comfortable leather-cushioned number, with the Officio's roman numeral designation at the very top, embossed in gold. The rest of the assembled Vindicares follow suit.

"Step forward to receive full certification from our Warmaster and the name you will answer to until your destruction."

Rea calls them by full names, one by one, names you don't recognize. All of them hopeful, looking at you with fresh faces, full of optimism, but at the same time tempered by the harsh advanced training they've been put through. All of them are anticipating the events to come.

"Warmaster." The Rank Leader nods at you, her glasses glinting in the amber light. "Their squad name, please."

What name do you give this Vindicare Squad? This will be their permanent title, and from here on in, they will be using it to gain achievements for you and the Officio.
