Aritsu: "Sir, what do you think of the Hermes OPSite?"

Ned: "The who site?"

Aritsu: "Oh, just look for it on the OPNet. There was an interview about it on !N last night."

As it turns out, Hermes is a nova-run small big business, belonging to a young man from Italy called Alphonso Postino. Alphonso has recently expanded his ability to create portals to the point where he can not only take anyone anywhere on earth, but his range extends well outside the solar system as well.

Aritsu: "What do you think? perhaps we could work with him?" -she says as she brings you your coffee and peeks into your holoscreen
>>
>>31116741
"Yes we certainly could."
Maybe arrange back to back flux live concerts all around the world?"
>>

Gold Experience if from the next ark after that, which *also* had translation problems, but nowhere near as bad as Diamond is Unbreakable.

That said, the re-translation for Part IV is already at 15/17 volumes, so it's almost completely done. You can read it all online, up to the latest translated chapter here ->http://www.batoto.net/comic/_/comics/jojos-bizarre-adventure-part-4-diamond-is-unbreakable-r6269

>Hermes
Oh god, I hope it isn't run by a chick who's totally a dude.
>>
>>31116849
Remember im 95% blind. I'm smart enough to guess when the translator made a mistake and ignore it, but the scans for Golden Experience are just terrible. My eyes literally cannot see the panels or what's going on. They're tiny, dirty, and blurry. At least the ones i've seen

Aritsu: "Should I call him and arrange a meeting, or would you rather call him yourself? I imagine he must be quite busy after that interview."
>>
>>31116782

More like an XWF bout ON MARS. If both fighters can spend 1 quantum to survive there for a scene, all we need is cameramen in Encounter Suits (or drone cameras) and we're away.

At one point we talked about having Brass v Bomber fought on the moon...
>>
>>31116923

There's a colony on the moon (actually theres 2 but the other one's a secret) so it wouldnt be that hard. Just get the Krew to build the stage. Plus there already are camera drones, most reporters have one floating around following them when they are at work. The best reporters have one at all times, just in case.

>>31116908
I really think you're mixing up Part V with Part IV, Gold Experience is from part V, Vento Aureo (Golden Wind) and is a pretty bad translation, but that's mostly due to accuracy issues, compared to the previous arc, it's much more readable, with cleaner scans, and a translation that while not the most accurate, is much more grammatically sound.

Part 4 had a horrible chinese translation, shitty editing, and a low resolution.

Pic related, here's some highlights of Diamond is Unbreakable.

>>31116923
Fuck year mars fighting!

>>31117001
Or moon, I guess.
>>
>>31117001
>>31117005

The reason I said Mars is because it's uninhabited. Bomber and Brass could cause as much damage as they want...

Although one thing concerns me ably the fight... For all the hype, it's going to be a squash, because neither man will want to 'work' the first few rounds. So it'll be all-out from the word go, and last about 30 seconds.
>>
>>31117176
Yeah I was thinking that, too. But I wonder if the fans expect it to be longer, since they know both men, to an extent.

Also, im still waiting on you guys replying to Aritsu

Aritsu: "Yes sir. Do you want a printed version of the newspaper, or will you have your coffee with a digital one?"

Ned: "How did you got a printed newspaper?"

Aritsu: "I'm a subscriptor. There's something enjoyable in holding the actual news in your hands."

Ned: "I'd like that, thankyou."

Aritsu: "Yes sir."

Your beautiful secretary refills your coffee and hands you the newspaper before going back to her desk.

Oh, about taking Lyann out for a date, with Hermes, we could take her to Venice, or Paris. Also, are we going ahead with buying that house/kasbah in the crater lake we talked about some time ago?
>>
>>31117435
I wanna get our own elegant fortress of solitude just so we can tell her "Let me take you to the kasbah"
>>
Okaba calls you to let you know that he would like it if you could take Aura out to a charity ball that night. Normally he would, but he's busy with something (he doesn't says he's watching BL's home over the phone), so he's counting on you to go. Ironically, it will be a single's auction for a dance that night, and the profits will go towards restoring the poorest sectors of town.
>>
>>31117435
I'm thinking paris might be fun.
>>31117598

>Lyann date abroad.
I like it, but I'm guessing the time zone shift might work against us for Europe unless it's an early dinner. Maybe Rio or Buenos Aires might be better last minute venue changes.

When's the ball? Depending on how long it runs I might have an idea.
>>
>>31117598
>singles auction for a dance
Shite, depending on who's there that could be bad...

Do we lend Aura our cuff links just in case?
>>
>>31117598
Well, since I think our action is going to get locked in before I get the details of the ball, my suggestion is that we go Incognito with Lyann and bring Brass as Aura's date. That should give Brass the opportunity to publicly call for the match with BL again, while bemoaning to poor conduct of Omega's belt holder.

The question is whether we can mitigate Yann's social taint without Mako..l
>>
>>31117837

I like this idea.

Whilst we can't ameliorate the taint penalties, Ned can use Natural Agitator to make people overcome their base instincts and love Lyann
>>
>>31117837
>>31117915

Mako's "no taint" aura has a (literally) addictive effect. Baselines (normal human beings) have pretty much no chance at all of resisting this effect after a 3 hours exposition to it. It is therefore handy for, say, a play, a concert, or a movie, as long as it lasts less than 3 hours, which most do.

If you want to ruleslawyer, the "problem" is retarded because she can turn it on/off at will so why cant she turn it off every 2 hours and 59 minutes?

But seriously, Lyann's taint problem is specifically aimed towards "first impressions" so Mako only just need to have her aura on for, what, the first 15 minutes, an hour top?

Anyway, the ball is tomorrow night, and will last about 2 hours, from 9 to 11. Its a charity event, so the chances of meeting BL there are.. pretty low
>>
>>31118073
I just remembered that Mako was used to going to charity balls back on china. Was how she made most of the money and connections she needed to help orphanages
>>
>>31118073

If it's First Impressions that get affected, Ned can hijack the microphone of whoever's announcing people's arrivals, and cut a promo to make the entire room love Lyann, like her Personal Ring Announcer.

Diplomacy at difficulty 6? No worries, spend Mega Dice to reduce that, use Natural Agitator + auto successes from Persuader, and we're basically there.

Also, this continues the theme of us helping people to see past Lyann's problems. It's pure White Knighting, sure, but Social Combat is about the only arena where Ned surpasses Lyann, so it makes sense he'd want to help her where he can.

Also, it's a grand gesture. Those things are awesome.
>>
>>31118185
That's a good point. Think Ned could get away with two dates?

That way we could rain check Paris with Lyann until tomorrow or Thursday.
>>
>>31118268

Also, I would writefag the speech
>>
>>31118268
>Diplomacy at difficulty 6
That's funny because that is exactly the penalty

>>31118274
"It's for charity" has to be the best excuse ever
Followed by "for science!"

>>31118291
That would be fine

So, we say yes, and take Brass, Aura, Lyann and Mako to the Ball? Stella (the musician) would probably like to go but she's in London. Python would be popular on it
>>
>>31118073
What, you're telling me Bomber Lord doesn't attend charity balls? I'm shocked, shocked I say!

>>31118274
He's Ned Motherfucking Salter, he could take a Grizzly to the ball and manage to come off smooth!

Goddamn, I love King's Bounty, the modern remakes are an awful lot like playing Heroes of Might and Magic, probably because the HOMM was based on the original. Fuck troops, recruit Polar Bears!

God fucking dammit, why can't I refresh my captcha anymore? Now if my captcha expires I gotta make a new quick reply, dammit!
>>
>>31118336

Why do you think I called it? Her penalty was 7, but she made her roll and dropped it to 6.

I do party attention to the numbers, y'know :)

Don't know if we need you bother Mako with this one... I think it might be better if it were just Lyann + Ned, with Brass escorting Aura
>>
>>31118073
>Mako 3 hr addiction thingy
Question, since that's continuous exposure instead of cumulative, we should be fine as long as we take her off stage for a number during a Flux show or a sketch during the children's program, right? I might have a secret hope that Flux will produce a bonafide Rock Opera just to prove it can be done well...ant that might clock in at over 3hrs...
>>
>>31118517
Yes, its continuous exposure, but why would you really need it to be on all the time?

Its effects are
1) Making people not care about the taint on other people
2) Making everyone happy and chill. You may want them to be excited and not chill during a concert, so you may want to turn it off sometimes

Also, the addiction is, interesting enough, not THAT strong/bad, in that you can get your >weekly< (yes, once a week is enough) Mako fix just by owning, say, a Mako doll or a Mako poster. The poster probably being easier since she can broadcast the aura through recorded media.

Mako concerts are really good at ending prison riots by playing on the prison speaker system.
>>
>>31118655
Yeah, I misread the "ruleslawyer" sentence in >>31118073 as there being some limiting factor to her suppressing her aura. In retrospect, I need more coffee.

Also, I wanted to see if there would be a problem from people listening to looped tracks, but Captcha ate my original post and I was too lazy to rewrite everything.
>>
>>31118655

You gave her all the the Remote Power enhancements, didn't you?

>TFW Ned gets busted by Utopia for peddling 'Mako', the hypnotic, dangerous street drug
>>
>>31118715
Also, me. Sorry, not on my "A" game today...

Wait, are Mako T-shirts giving off addictive vibes?
>>
>>31118760
Only if she had the right enhancements on at the time.

This also answers the question about the songs on loop
>>
>>31118784
Uh, can we have a story post? We got pretty sidetracked.
>>
>>31118655

OK, new plan. Lyann can compose a cover version of 'Give Peace A Chance' that's designed tho make people be peaceful. Then we get Mako to perform it, adding her Happy Aura to the calming effect

Then we release an interactive desktop wallpaper off the performance as a free OPNet download, alongside a flurry of posters, adverts and other media

Every time anyone gets their Mako fix from the Give Peace A Chance range, it reinforces they pacifism effect

World Peace achieved, Flux are communally awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, Ned steeples his fingers and mutters 'just as planned'
>>
>>31118803
To be fair, we went from farming out Ayra date duties to a Silver to using this as an opportunity for Brass to escalate the hype around his challenge to BL while generating public good will and for Ned to go on a date (sort of) with both Lyann and Mako. There maybe some rewriting involved or King's just waiting to see what we finally settle on.
>>
>>31119035
I was kinda expecting us to go one the date while we hashed this other stuff out.
>>
Hey guys, is there anyone we can partner with Okaba for long range surveillance? I really don't like the idea of him, or any of our assets, working without backup at this point.
>>
>>31119071
I was thinking maybe it would be good to send Mai with him since she's a cooler head and she has enough stealth powers to bug out and call for help if shit really hits the fan.
>>
>>31119035
No, my mouse died and i spent like 20 minutes trying to make it work again. In the end i restarted the computer and its okay now, but I lost whatever there was between civ's V last autosave to now
>>
>>31119097

Mai for sure. She'll be his operator, he'll be her conscience. Nobody else has the training

>>31119035

And I think it was good to have a meta-chapter, to figure out what happens next
>>
>>31119178
Ouch. So, are we continuing or calling it a day?
>>
>>31119178
So anyway lets see... take Lyann out on a date tonight. Maybe go to a movie or somewhere she can be around people without interacting with them, or letting Ned run interference to help her overcome the -6 penalty to first impressions.

Then the day after, we go to the charity ball. That sounds right?
>>
>>31119178
How does Civ V compare to SMAC, anyways?
>>
>>31119210
Yes
>>
>>31119210
Mostly, though I think we might also have been trying to partner Okaba with Mai for BL surveillance tonight and going forwards.

There was also some discussion about bringing Mako to the ball (it's the perfect excuse to get her and Lyann in their cocktail dresses), but I think it'll be fine to leave her home. Hopefully Ned can handle the Lyann rolls.
>>
>>31119237
>SMAC

What's that?

And it depends. The vanilla was "fun" and I played it because i've played ALL civs. I started by playing the original, and loving it cause it was very open and I could change the text files to have the text inside the game appear so I was able to translate it myself, learn english, and make a country into Chile and others into countries I didint like and have their leaders greetings change into "Hey, I was busy eating poop but, what do you want?"

So then Civ Net, Civ II, Alpha Centaury, The mess with microsoft where they bought the license and did so bad with it that mircroprose bought it back and made good games again all the way to the current Civ V Brave New World.

In Brave New World you have a LOT of control over trade routes to the point that right now my ONE CITY empire of venice is making 1700 gold per turn while all other countries are losing 12 to 22 gold per turn and cant sustain their military so they cant come bother me.

And every civilization wants to come conquer my lonely city because its JUST ONCE CITY (made of gold, I guess) but my submarines think their tiremes are tasty, my privateers can capture enemy ships (and embarked units) so you should assume any ship sent to me will be sunk or captured by venecian privateers (then unpgraded into a destroyer and parked forever outside the nice port of Venice)

So if you like capitalism and money, play venice in brave new world. Its hilarious. I have a pretty good computer and it ran really slow until i turned off an option, tho

>>31119378
Mai doesnt leave the ranch unless her little sister is figthing, tho. Is part of why she enjoys Ned's visits so much. She has a forcefully limited social life because of the former superspy and lots of enemies, thing.

She can leave from time to time since she cant be broadcasted, tho, and has a lot of stealth enhancements.
>>
>>31119467
...we really ought to deal with Mai's enemy list eventually... Ok, is Okaba's Stella still...no she has to much experience on the bad end of this equation for me to put her into play yet...have the Utopia, FBI, DEA or other assets we're bringing in for the BL takedown set up shop in LA yet?
>>
>>31119467

SMAC = Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri = Civilisation IN SPACE

My GF is a massive fan
>>
>>31119570
yes, the FBI is working in their own surveillance and tracking the money processes by now

>>31119577
Oh, I loved Alpha Centaury, but had no idea it was called SMAC by people. I hope a new one comes out soon/someday with the new computer games tech, much like how we have gotten a CIV every 5 years and a expansion every 10 months.

Hell, there was a horrible Civilization "conquering America", why cant we get a new awesome SMAC?

Anyway. Date with Lyann somewhere public (where she doesnt has to interact with people), or want to take her somewhere more private for a date?
>>
>>31119570

AFAIK. We had them primed to act when Bomber was fighting Brass. When the fight is finally scheduled, that's when we'll have a date and time for them to move. I'm surprised we haven't had a call from Ric yet.... Maybe he really trusts us that much...

Oh, also if this is an Experience Auction, put 'a workout session with Brass in the XWF gym' on the list of lots. The prize includes a consultation with the XWF chief medic, and a custom-designed workout program for your day.
>>
>>31119657
If we can wrap the date before the Ball I say let's go somewhere a little more private.
>>
>>31119657

I kinda feel sorry for Mai, ever since S2 started, she's been pretty much Silver Leauge'd out of the story.

>>31119467
Hmm, sounds good, but then again it doesn't sound like 'make me wanna switch from SMAC'...

I really loved the quotes, science and philosophy behind SMAC, sure it was Civ in Space, but it also had that... atmosphere I really enjoyed.

Also, your Venice sounds like when I play Morgan, and build The Merchant Exchange (+1 energy per square at this base) in a good region. Get Supercollider and/or Theroey of Everything, and say hello to 80%+ of your entire faction's research being done at one base!

I was going to post a picture of Morgan's stats from GURPS, but apprently I don't have one, so I'll post a Cromartie High School parody, instead.

Riiight, hence the whole ranch thing.
Still, ever since we stopped visiting the ranch, and started with the band, we've had almost no screentime with Mai.

I'm kinda regretting we didn't hook up with Mai, if only to prevent her from getting Silver League'd outta the picture.
>>
>>31120059
Oh, and remember that we're about to start getting combat lessons from Mai, so she is going to get more screen time soon.

But yeah, I agree with you. I think a big part of that shift has been the shift in focus from training our fighters to the BL plot line and managing our growing corporate empire. Hopefully we'll be able to take a short break after we take down BL and focus on developing our silver and gold fights for a bit. That should give Mai more screen time and let Ned do a job he loves doing, mentoring and challenging his fighters to be better than they ever believed they could be.
>>
>>31120159
...We are hooking up with Mai, it's just more a friends with benefits relationship at this point than a committed one. Honestly I think Mai might be a little more comfortable with that (if a bit disappointed) due to her background, where being vulnerable to someone risks more than just a broken heart, but yeah, if it weren't for the Lyann/Mako tag team I'd more or less be in your camp. Still, we'll see how it plays out since neither Lyann nor Mako is particularly possessive.

>>
>>31121511

Is a huge natural crater from a meteor fall, filled in with water from underground rivers. It has an island in the middle of the lake.

Desert surrounding it
Crater makes a huge natural wall
Then you have a huge moat

All this means a house there would be quite private
