You are Gertrude Pool, Sophomore Class President and new commander of Lafayette Girls Academy’s revived Tankery Team.

You and your crew all stand around the backyard of the dorm, staring at a bit of white cloth on the ground.

“Domino tried to take Lisa’s underwear off in the middle of the night,” you say.

Lisa sighs, shuddering. “Wasn’t a fun time.”

“Yeah, then she screamed bloody murder, apparently a palmetto bug managed to crawl onto her arm and it woke me.” You point down to the cloth. “Nearly caught her too.”

Kitten asks, “What did she look like?”

You say, “Domino mask, white backless dress, boots. Black hair I think.”

O’Hara and O’Brian walk over. “We’ll take it from here, Gertrude,” says O’Hara. “This’ll be sent to processing and hopefully we’ll nab that bitch yet.”

You shrug, all of you deciding to head out. The Sophomore dorm has briefly become a crime scene as Hall Monitors walk out and about around, investigating signs of the Domino Lady.

Nancy asks, “You think we’ll catch her?”

Kitten says, “But if she’s Batman?”

“She’s not Batman,” you say. “Batman’s a guy. What you’re thinking of is Batgirl which is a far more likely thing.”

Lisa says, “What if she’s the American Dream?”

“She’s not The American Dream either,” you say. “These are Marvel and DC Superheroes, what would they be doing stealing the panties off of nubile young girls of varying legal ages?”

Lisa says, “You just answered your question.”

You sigh. “Let’s just get to school. I got some midterms today I think anyway.”

IS2, is too big, also like with the IS3 in which was in the Shop before, it's a heavy the the gun is stupidly big and reload is slow if I recall.

Kitten says, “I’m sure you’ll get through. Shouldn’t be too hard.”

“Kitten,” you say. “Debates are a bit like running a marathon, except they’re more taxing on the mind than the body, and that tires you out even further.”

Lisa says, “Won’t argue with that logic.”

You yawn a little as you pull out your phone and dial up Mr. Mishka. “Hey, Mr. Mishka.”

>We can talk about purchasing tanks later

There's not really much to talk about. The Char has no real future outside some really expensive and time-consuming prototype conversions that still leave it inferior to just about any other heavy tank choice. And the IS-2's gun is probably a bit too much for potential crews to handle, and even if not, it's low rate of fire is a serious liability.

Meanwhile we've wanted a Chaffee almost since the start of the Quest.
>>
Should we ass Applique Armor to the Chi-Ha?

We're going to field it in the Match against Chi-Ha-Tan.

And it's in expensive.
>>
>>31019695
Yep, the IS-2 does have a stupidly low RoF. I can see why it isn't so attractive now.

Looking at Wikipedia, though, the Char B1 looks like a pile of shit to me. Not much armour for a heavy, slow, and "The commander, alone in the turret, not only had to command the tank, but also to aim and load the gun."

I don't really think we need more heavies that desperately.
>>
>>31019854
>Y

Buy the Chaffee too.
>>
Dear anons: The 122mm D-25 is kind of weenie. Two piece ammunition and a very large breech mean that even experienced crews have a rate of fire of 3 RPM....at the top end. It was usually around 1/2 RPM.

B1's just furniture, don't even bother.

Chaffee will fuck people in the mouth.
>>
>>31019977
Yeah, I agree with that assesment.

The Char for me was mostly for personnel feeling and which I doubt people would want anyway.

The IS2, the Gun is too big which bothers me. and has a slow rate of Fire.

he Chaffe is a Choice that is obvious.

However, I think we should take the Panzer 2 in consideration.

If we recruit the senior or junior council their three man crew will be an issue.
>>
>>31019474

>>
>>31020018

It's an up armored variant of the Panzer 2.

I wouldn't normally consider it but I'm worried about future crews, the Senior and Junior in particular who have three man crews

Chaffee's a sure thing we're getting, but what about the Cromwell? It looks to have a nice balance of armour, armament, and speed. Not bad for our 19th tank I think.

Yeah, finding tanks for three-person crews is a serious issue. Maybe calling in another Girl Scout marker would be justified here, though we should probably then shift focus to improving the tanks we have just obtained or still use in service. At least until we get more crews.
>>

I like another British tank. but I'm worried for the three man crew recuirement

the potential crews like Fairless and the Junior Council don't have enough men to field such a tank

The Panzer II J is essentially a heavy (or late-war medium) tank with a light tank's speed and armament. As potential choices go, I can think of worse.

Nancy says, “Everyone seems so focused.”

You nod. “Midterms does that. I wouldn’t be surprised if these girls had nightmares about waking up and missing them when they’re in their 30s.”

“That’s so sad,” says Nancy.

Lisa shrugs. “Not really. They should be setting time aside to study rather than just cramming at the last minute.”

You say, “Well, Nancy, not everyone here is an overachiever. Especially not the Freshmen.” You yawn a little. That Domino Lady attack did not do wonders for your sleep.

You check the time, almost time for class.

Lisa says, “Well, I ought to head to class. English midterms are today.”

You all nod. “See you, Lisa.” She leaves then. “We all should head to our classes too.” You look over at Kitten. “Good luck on yours, Kittycat.”

Kitten shrugs. “Let’s just get this over with.”

You all separate and head to your class. If you recall correct, your math shouldn’t be today, but then again you never were good at scheduling.

Nancy gasps, stars in her eyes. “You got a love letter!”

You say, “That’s quite the leap, Nancy. Maybe it’s just something else.”

“Well what else could it be?” says Lisa. “Your 401k?”

“Don’t talk to me about insurance, we’re high schoolers, Lisa,” you say. “Anyway, it’s probably nothing.”

Because the IS-3 is an unreliable piece of shit. Like, Panther levels of unreliability. Stalin was lucky to have them as mere parade tanks, because if he'd have had to use them, it would have come to light how shit they are. Same problem as the late war German tanks suffered, really. Formidable if you encounter a working one, but you probably won't because it's being repaired again.

The IS-2 is the exact opposite.

Add to that, the Ace crew tends to infight about tank opinions too much to be a reliable source of information anyway.
>>

The 100mm D-10T was actually tested on the IS-2. It should be Tankery Legal. It's a better AT gun than the D-25T in every way. The reason they went with the D-25 anyway was HE performance but who gives a shit were doing Senshado!

All we need to do is replace the gun, not convert it.
>>
>>31021029
I'll have to read through the old threads. If there was a mistake, I'll retcon by next thread.
>>
>>31021031
Where are we going to find the 100mm D-10T
>>
>>31020887
I'm still wary. That slow RoF worries me because it will be a fairly useless tank until crew assigned to it becomes skilled. If we could convince Rifle Team to get in, those girls who shoot clay pigeons with an M1 Garand, then I think it would be the best purchase we could make. It would also solve the problem of having a 3 man crew in a t-34/85.

Though, it will probably the whole Hellcat thing all over again.

Good armour and speed, crew of three which would be ideal for small crews in the future. Though, we would have too many lights IMO and the autocannon looks like a shit weapon to me.

Do we pass on this?

Best gun we'd have, if you can ignore the RoF. Potentially devastating with an experienced crew like the Rifles in it which would solve the T-34/85 problem. We could also turn it into an IS-1 which seems like just a better KV-85. We could also just toss on a D-10T if we can find one, but it doesn't seem to shoot much faster then the D-25, so I don't know how useful that switch would be.

IS-2 is pretty shit. The A-19 and D-25 were given to the IS tanks as a breakthrough gun to demolish fortified German positions and to blow the tops off Tiger Is with HE shells, not actually engage tanks.

Any tank engagements were done with the lighter, faster, more numerable T-34s or tank destroyers, depending on who was where doing what.

Both pass.

Pretty much the WWII king of light tanks, even I'd have to admit that.
Still, it's only a light tank.

>IS-2
This is where the money's at.
Second best gun (just after the Tiger 2)
Good armor
Can get 100mm gun which brings it even closer to KwK 43 performance and helps a little with the reload. No earth shattering improvement, but still significant. The best AT gun the Russians have to offer, barring the BL-8, 9 and 10 which were never mass-produced on armored vehicles during the war (though technically, neither was the D-10T on turreted vehicles, but it was very successful against tanks on the assault guns).

I know it's Wikipedia, but it looks like just swapping guns is what we'd have to do.
>>
>>31021911
Get the fuck out you idiot.

IS-2 IRL was a million times better than in WoT. Ingame it's a shitty noobtank. Any competent Tiger driver will fuck it in any type of engagement. But that's not the point here.

It's a reliable, reasonably mobile heavy tank with solid armor and a devastating gun, both the D-25 and the D-10, both of which are actually very accurate guns IRL as I've said before. They are on par with the Tiger's KwK 36 and the Panther's KwK 40. Both capable of hitting and knocking out a Tiger frontally from 1500m.

You decide to study up on your remaining topics, history and French. Theatre thankfully doesn’t have any real meaningful midterms it seems. You go through your old notes, read through your online textbooks and commit all of it to memory.

Good thing too, because both History and French midterms were today as well. Fun stuff.

Your history midterm at least was pretty easy considering it covered only the topics you actually read up to. But as for French well…

Tu ne sais pas.

Finally though, classes over. You feel pretty worn out, but you do have practice today to go over. Might as well.

You yawn a little as you enter into the Tankery HQ. Your usual instructor, Ashley Ursula Lutz doesn’t appear to be in today. That’s a shame, you could a nice smiling face to maybe wake you up.

You lie back on a couch, sighing in bliss. You could use a nice good nap.

You bolt awake, seeing your crews all out and about, chatting quietly. Loaders are having a contest to see who can lift the bigger shell. Wendy of course is winning with two 152mm shells on her shoulders.

Kitten says, “Caught you sleeping.” You look over at her, she shows you a picture of you napping on her smartphone.

You smile, gently pushing it away. “Haha.”

Dory and the Naval Studies Students walk over. “Hey, you’re awake. We figured we’ve waited long enough. Time for us to do Tankery too.”

Supposedly the sharp nose of the BR-471 had difficulty penetrating the Panther's Glacis due to the slope.
Later on the problem seems to have been alleviated as the armor quality of German tanks dropped.
Really, unless the enemy is behind cover or there's a lot of slope, just hit them with HE

>>31022815
Depends on what you're going to be facing. A 122mm against CHT is a waste. Doesn't have a high enough RoF and then gun over penetrates against them.

I dunno what the other teams we might be facing are.

>>
>>31022669
Yes, russians measure the smallest angle between the plane of the armor and the trajectory of the shell. This is the same as measuring the 30 degrees from a head-on hit.

Note that 500yard is about 450m.
SVDS is moot because it cant hit anything beyond a few 100m.

You're also missing the D-10T with 160mm at 500m and 150mm at 1000m.
>>
>>31022926
Which is generally the sentiment of any surviving Soviet tank crews who ended up operating IS-2s.

In addition their combat load only included a handful of BR-471 (or BR-471(B) if they were so lucky/favored).

Not like penetration matters when you've got 3 kilogram of TNT popping a Tiger's top like a firecracker, anyways, and if that doesn't happen the spalling is going to turn the enemy crew into salsa fresca.

Although a ballistic capped BR-471 would be kind of interesting, but this is Classic and not Unlimited.

Could be that she's insecure about their (Carol and Gertrude) future together but also afraid of broaching the subject for fear of rejection or abandonment by Gertrude.

Just imagine and explore your feelings if you were in her position. Your best friend of essentially your entire, modern life all of a sudden has a bright, shining new future that only MIGHT include you.

I would assume that Carol is probably heterosexual but bi-curious. I can't really adequately speak as to female sexuality in young adults but I imagine that those feelings aren't rare, especially when you consider the differences between males and females in sex (ie, intimacy and the lack thereof)

You do push ups in the muddy field, with Wendy leading by example in front of all of you. Everyone groans and wearily does it, because the past half hour or so was spent on a lap around the field, then other stretching and muscular exercises.

“Alright, stand up!” yells Wendy. Everyone stumbles to their feet. Tex Avery of the Animation club vomits onto the ground. “Right, another lap around the field and we’ll get to the Tankery stuff.” Everyone groans. “Come on, come on, let’s go. I’ll lead.”

Everyone follows behind Wendy in column formation. You, being you, don’t really mind this exercise stuff, but it’s clear that a lot of the girls are really pushing their limits with this exercise thing.

Gussie yells, “I bet I can run faster than you all!”

Marina yells, “Like hell you will!” she sprints past Gussie.

Tara sprints past Marina. “Fuck you BIIIIIIITCH!”

Elouise screams as she springs past them all. “Kiss my ass!”

The lap ends with all the loaders panting and tired out. Boy, that was not smart of them.

You yawn a little, tired. Wendy slaps your desk, waking you up. “Paying attention, Commander?”

You nod violently. “Yeah, yeah.”

Wendy says to all your exhausted members. “Now, all of you who sit in the turret have some kind of task. Whether that be loading, gunning, or commanding, or managing the radio.” She walks up to the board. “It’s a cooperative effort, which means that if someone in the turret fails, the tank won’t be as effective. And this is exasperated in two-man turrets, and very dangerous with one man turrets.”

Wendy continues with, “There’s also the issue of cooperating with your fellow tanks. Radio operators for instance along with commanders have this task and if you fail to report or signal in, that could mean disaster.”

Charlotte raises her hand. “So, basically, if someone fails, the entire team could fail?”

“Precisely,” says Wendy. “Think of the team like a clock. A clock doesn’t work if a gear is busted.”

Everyone takes notes as best they can. You struggle to stay awake.

Of Course, It's only been two months but she has improved so much since then. Of course social anxiety is still there and in some cases (like Fairless) she avoids contact to some extent.

It's just what you had mention before came across to me that in Kitten circle Trude is the only one, My misunderstanding of your previous post got me thinking of when we confronted Kitten about her not going to the play and some anons wanted her to only focus on Trude. (At that time this had gotten me angry since this will weaken Kitten as a character and is a bad reason in general). After that she has improved in terms of her social circle.

However it was my misunderstanding and (just partially) the lack of mentioning of improvement, caused this small incident.

Kitten lies you back, letting you rest your head on her lap. “Go ahead and nap, Trudy. I won’t let anyone wake you.”

With that, you simply decide a nap is in order.

“Fire!”

All the guns fire. Instead of remaining in the tanks, most of the crewmembers non-essential to functioning the gun are outside, to the sides, wearing earmuffs. You sit around and observe your crewmembers through Grandad’s binocs. Loks like the Polish are really enjoying the new M8A1 Scott GMC. The Freshmen meanwhile are really admiring their new Churchill IX. Wendy was a bit skeptical on both of those upgrades, but then again Wendy is skeptical of everything.

Meanwhile, the Animation Club have temporarily taken up hold in the M4A4 Sherman. The Naval Studies Engineering team has also taken up the Sturmpanzer IV.

At least now you’re awake.

Most of your crews besides the Animation and the Engineering team are hitting their marks at least.

>>
>>31024425
The GMC was feasible and was tested (On a proving ground) that it works, whether it works on the battlefield, well it should perform similar to the Scott, just with a slightly bigger profile due to the gun.

The Churchill is the same IV with more armor.
>>
>>31024453
Thinking about it, I believe the 120mm will be more valuable then anything else we could put on the Chi-Ha. The thing can flush CHT out of cover with HE and do very well paired with the sturmpanzer. About all we can do to make it suck less is slap on an improved engine, but the gain wouldn't be enough to justify 3K.
>>
>>31024528
We could give it some Applique armor

“Let’s do this!” yells Marina. Chuck the KV-85 immediately barrels through the field full tilt, faster than you could ever imagine. The engine smokes heavily like a hipster’s Chimney.

Wendy yells, “Marina, slow down! This is formation training! And I am not going to fix your engine if it breaks!”

“Oh, alright!” says Marina.

With that, you continue on with maneuvering practice. The Naval Studies Engineering students have some trouble with the Sturmpanzer, but start getting into the groove of things in the later half of maneuvering practice.

Everyone is seated in their chairs as Wendy goes over Command Theory. “Alright, now you have a variety of ways to scan the area. The most obvious one is to turn out of your hatch and look around. This grants you the best view and it’s not all that dangerous to do so. However, there is a risk to that, you risk silhouetting your tank when it’s hiding behind something for instance, especially for tanks with a high profile.

“Then you have the cupola slits, allows you to see around from the safety of the tank while maintaining a low profile, but only a select number of tanks have that.

“Then you have the various periscopes, sights, all that stuff. Key to understanding Tankery is vision. Always make sure to maintain sights and the like. If you choose a tank that has poor sights, that’s your own fault.”

You check the time. “Welp, I think that’s all we got for today.”

Wendy nods. “Alright, you’re dismissed.”

Everyone groans as they start packing up.

You nod. “Alright.” Kitten kisses you on the cheek for good luck. Good girl. You step up over to the podium and tap the mic a bit. Yeah, that’s loud.

You say, “We don’t need to catch her. She’s already caught. I’m working on it you know? Why, just this morning, she barely escaped from my grasp. Got a bit of evidence, a physical description of her, and her shoe size.

You snap your finger. “So yeah, she’ll be caught within the next two weeks if our very good Hall Monitors do their part.”

There’s a polite applause at your response.

Fairless says, “And I assume you’ve had underwear stolen from both of you.”

You and Jeannette nod. “Yep, yeah.” Everyone also nods, agreeing with that.

“Next question,” says Betty. “Tankery. There are concerns that the incumbent President is focusing too much on Tankery over her own class.”

Fairless says, “Jeannette. How do you respond?”

Jeannette says, “Tankery is a fine and well thing for girls of all ages of course. However, it shouldn’t supersede Presidential duties nor should it suck funds from the class itself. For example, Gertrude Pool’s very expensive Tankery HQ, the tanks, the restoration of said tanks, all come over to hundreds of thousands of dollars spent. All of which could be used for club activities and the like. Now, if I were President, I sure as heck wouldn’t flagrantly use my budget like that.”

Most of that money is from sponsorships FOR the Tankery team. The rest was donated directly to the team itself. We don't neglect the class treasury, we in fact had to dip into our Tankery budget to ensure the Sophomores don't go wanting!

"However money needs to be spent on restoring the tanks, enough money has been generated from tankery that money can and has been diverted towards other school activities. Just yesterday I approved more requests for funds that might otherwise not have been possible if I was only restricted to the school budget. As it stands, the money in the soph discretionary budget has doubled, to 10,000 AFTER said club expenditure.

Tankery is good for the schools image and the money it is bringing in is able to help other clubs and students as well."

> Rally the Crowd (- 5 CP)

“Now, ladies and uh… ladies.” Everyone laughs at that. “I should say that almost every tank in our arsenal has been generously donated from various sponsors of the Tankery team. Only or two have been directly purchased from the Tankery budget. Class treasury has not been affected, in fact the treasury has doubled since the start of the school year thanks to Tankery being such a profitable venture.

“I should add that I do pay attention to the class as well as Tankery. I have not refused a reasonable request for funding, and we’ve never taken money out of the class treasury for Tankery, quite the opposite, Tankery help funds the Sophomore class. And it will continue funding the Sophomore Class as long as I am in charge.”

There’s a big applause and few whistles here and there from the crowd. You’ve got them now.

Betty smiles, then pulls out the next question. “Next question! There are rumors that the school may be potentially closed due to funding issues. How would you prevent this?”

Fairless asks, “Jeannette?”

Jeannette says, “Well, if such rumors were true, I’d help LGA with gaining a new presence in the world with other Academyships. Ten years ago, we shut down the Foreign exchange program due to funding issues and lack of cooperating Academyships. I’d like to restart that, show other girls what LGA is all about. Not just that, but I’d like to help fund our sports teams. In general, it’s all about building LGA’s reputation in the world, and if we do that, LGA is saved.”

I've taken a proactive role in doing exactly that. Not because of rumours, though, but because I have pride in my school and want to show the world who we are!

Shit's not about tanks, convince them what we do is for them.
>>
>>31026157
>> “We do it together.”
Don't shun teams if they have the motivation, the drive and the talent to bring prestige to the school. Besides, both are pretty much sport here, it's only proper to show some sportsmanship.

>I’d help LGA with gaining a new presence in the world with other Academyships.

Since the start of this school year, Lafayette Girls Academy has made huge steps in cementing it's presence and reputation worldwide - We now have a huge amount of expanding sports teams, we have a tankery team in the world championships, a skycraft team sponsored by a huge american aircraft corporation. Just the other day our local Girl scouts order reconnected with the GSoA and expanded their operations.
If you want to help Lafayette, go out and join a club. Enjoy yourselves, and make a name for your school in whatever activity you love.
>>

>Through competition we meet new friends from for away, and by giving our all we make Lafayette Academy known across the world!

I'm so bad at this.
>>
>>31026157
>We do it together

This semester I have started up relationships up with no less than 5 other school ships and have helped some of our clubs grow as a result.
>>
Rankin said she would, we have ready done so with our actions.
>>
I wonder if it'll be wise to bring in Jeannette into the secret.

In our interactions, shes been a decent girl and it seems like if she knows whats at stake, she can help rally other activities as well since we're focused on tankery.
>>
>>31026432
Tankery alone will save the school, no need to spill the beans.
>>
>>31026460

The prize money will fund a couple of years but what then? It's not sustainable, we need to raise the profile of our school in all our activities that cutting LGA is simply unacceptable.
>>
>>31026460
Tankery might save it, but you can't depend on a single team holding up an entire school. People need to bring other activities up to par and drive forward with them.
>>
> “We do it together.”
> “Tankery is how we do it.”

You say, “Well, girls. Part of what makes LGA is our love for friendship and teamwork. This year we’ve restarted a huge number of clubs and sports teams, not just Tankery. The Girl Scouts of America is here selling cookies, we’ve got sports teams of all kinds from baseball to curling, we even have a new Skycraft team sponsored by Northrop Grumman who will be competing in the Spring and Summer Tournaments coming up.

“So to tell you this, yeah, Tankery is how we restore LGA’s reputation. It’s not an American thing, it’s an international sport started by the Japanese whom we are building amazing ties with. Much of our class funding in fact was generously donated from schools like Saunders. Black Forest Peak donated a tank to us. Walter Christie has also donated parts and other material to us as well.

“We are already on track to making LGA great again. So yeah, Rankin, you say you will do it.” You pause, shrugging. “WE are already doing it.”

Everyone applauds politely. Rankin smirks, also applauding you.

Betty says, “Well those are the questions we have for today. We will now go to the closing remarks.”

Fairless says, “Jeannette. What do you have to say to LGA?”

Jeannette says, “I am firm believer that LGA can be made great again. If we all hold together and if we stick it out through and through, I believe we can become the number one Academyship in US service. We can do so much together if you were to vote for me.”

In all honesty when I first took this position it was on a whim. Before LGA I was a bit crude, dim, and my social circle was limited to my best friend and my council. However when I taken this position and accepted its responsibilities, I've met some amazing people, and students.

People who want to achieve their dreams, people looking for something to do, people wanting to earn respect for the things they cherish, people finding a purpose of what they want to be.

LGA changed me to who I am today, it gave me friends, it gave me challenges in which to overcome, it led me to others who needed my help when no one would.

I love LGA, I want it to float for years to come, I want LGA to be the dream of girls who want to join an Academyship not just because of its academics but to be seen as a place where girls can find purpose and achieve there dreams.

LGA is a part me just as I'm sure it is for all of you.

I'm not sure what I can do to help all of you, but if you vote for me, I'll make damn sure to do my best.

Nancy smiles. “I don’t envy your position. You did well however.”

Lisa nods. “Yeah, that’s all we can ask of you. Try and relax for now, I don’t think we have anything outstanding on Wednesday. Maybe use that to relax or study or something, we don’t want you burning out.”

“I don’t burn out,” you say. “I just get really really tired of doing stuff and I just simply refuse to do stuff for a certain period of time.”

“Of course,” says Lisa.

With that, you arrive back at the dorms.

Because this wasn't fucking apparent when the mess about upgrading the cupid came about.

The Bill showed that we still needed to pay for the other purchases so it was obvious that it was Line Item Only.

Plan for the capture of the Domino Lady. That seems to be the highlight for clinching those votes.

There, cans tied to the doors. You got a tripwire in the hall. You’ve sealed the balcony door with duct tape, and you’ve also sealed your dresser with duct tape.

You yawn heavily. Fuck that Domino Lady. You’ve got this shit.

You throw off your blazer, toss off your skirt, then undo the buttons on your blouse. Fuck showers, fuck getting undressed properly. You jump onto the bed and roll onto your back.

Goddamn it, you’re too tired to do anything else.

Hopefully Kitten has a good night though.

That's it for this weekend. I will return on Friday at 3 PM EST. (Or Thursday, I'm thinking of running a non-LGA related one-shot.)
