>Back to the revenge
You arrive in your hometown in the dead of night. You can't afford to take a ship, both literally and figuratively, so you are forced to sneak in through the Water and Power tunnels beneath the city. As you emerge from a dank pipeline onto the moonlit streets, you take in the familiar stench and feel of urban life.

You throw of your poncho, covered in foul liquids from the pipeline, and fix yourself. A rifle with eight jet shells and one blue shell stored inside is tucked into a holster on your thigh. There are two more shells in your coat pocket, in case of emergency. You still have no idea what the blue shells may do, but Riley suggested not discarding them. You look at your left arm, a mass of steel and wire, with two blue gems set in the shoulder. You rotate your shoulder, then bend your elbow, and finally flex your fingers and wrist. Everything seems to be in working order.

You can just barely remember where the speakeasy is from the first and only time Riley brought you there. Going there now might be dangerous, but the longer you take, the more likely word will spread of your arrival.

With little money and no real place to go, you decide that a temporary hideout is in your best interest. You think back, and recall that there are some abandoned tenements nearby. They are crumbling and perhaps dusty, but they are the last place anyone would expect you to hide. You set off, and arrive less than half an hour later. The front door is barricaded and marks the building as condemned, but the rear entrance just needs a little nudging before it opens. After a short rest, you decide it's time to secure a better chance at surviving a fight against the mob.

You wander the back alleys of the city, silent but for the rustling of prowling animals as they search for a meal. Your boots make a low clomping noise as you walk, but not so loud that anybody who isn't listening for you will notice.

Eventually, you hear something in the distance. You approach quietly, and turn a corner to peek down a narrow alley. Two men chat as they smoke, standing side by side against a wall. They wear coats similar to the ones you, Riley and Donna wore aboard the ship. You watch them for a while longer, and notice that they both carry guns. Pistols, most likely, but the shells would fit your rifle.

You reach down and scoop up a chunk of concrete from the floor. It's slightly damp. You look for something that will make a good loud noise, and settle on a dumpster across the alley. You toss the concrete chunk into the dumpsters, causing a low thumping noise to echo inside of it. The two men stop talking, startled by the noise. After a moment, one says something you can't make out, and then begins approaching you. He doesn't seem aware of you, nor does he reach for his weapon.

After all is said and done, you've spent two men to get ten fire shells. You pocket them and think on your next course of action. More gunfire will give you away, but cutting down your enemy's number while supplying yourself is a good deal.

It's already started.
If they're pros they'll come to hunt us down, and while the bears are out of their cave we go and strike the cubs (meaning we'll finish more of them, which will draw them to hunt us, and then we'll get a weaker defense on their base).

>>30940333
You dump the bodies in the same dumpster you threw the concrete chunk into. Hopefully that will buy you a little time later. With that done, you keep traveling don the back alleys of the cit, in search of usable resources.

Most of the men you come across are small potatoes. They move in pairs, and sometimes rare trios, and are quite simple to take down. Often they end up clumsily doing each other in. You realize now that these must be simple mooks, and the higher ups likely keep themselves surrounded by the more capable members. Still, each man you eliminate is one less gun pointed at you later.

By the time first light comes, your pockets jingle with shells, and coin alike. Not much, but enough to afford food and shelter for a while. You're starting to feel a bit sleepy, and there won't be nearly as many enforcers wandering during the day.

You think the work for today is done. You turn toward your temporary home and hurry back before people begin leaving for work, so as to avoid being spotted by too many of them. You manage to get back just before sunrise. You can feel your body rebelling, demanding rest before critical failure ensues. Your coat will be warm enough for a nap, and so you lay down to one.

When you wake, it's already the afternoon. People are returning home from work now, as evidenced by the rumbling of footsteps and chatter outside. You feel well rested, despite having curled up on the wooden floor. Perhaps now is a good time to continue preparations.

You decide that it's best to wait until the cover of night can aid in your endeavors. You throws your coat back over your body and lie back down, hoping to get some extra rest before setting off. You are unable to sleep past evening, and at around 8 o'clock you are wide awake and alert. Still, you bide your time a bit longer so as to wait until the city's senses are dulled before leaving your hideout.

At half past ten, you think it's time.

He lets slip an explitive, as you reach behind him and pull his rifle from the holster on his back. You toss it on the ground and kick it across the room, having no time to unload it while holding him up. Then begins your line of questions.

To your surprise, he gives up most of the information rather quickly. Your suspicions are confirmed when he tells you that he, his partner, and many of the top ranking enforcers have been let loose on the street to search for you. There are also several noted hitmen who are being negotiated with to perform a sweep of the city within a few days. Finally, you ask him about the enemy stronghold. He is not very forthcoming with this, going so far as to say there is no one place where the boss stays.

Through painful investigation, you find out that those in attendance to this suaré will be very important members of the organization. Most of them are old men with pot bellies, but their henchmen are the real threat. The best killers available, men who could have given Riley a run for his money. Most of them will be armed with simple sidearms, but most of them are just as proficient at using their environment as any weapon. It seems the best way to counteract them is to take them by surprise, not giving them time to plan for you.

Most of the booths and table are full of generic looking thugs, drinking and laughing together. There is one table however, that stands out. Your blade springs from your forearm, and you dash at the stout man. You put as much force into one good thrust as you can without unbalancing yourself, driving it at him so hard that you nearly grit your teeth. The blade clanks, and is turned away. Before you can respond, a great fist comes up and hits you square on the jaw, lifting you off your feet slightly and sending you back on the ground. You scramble to stand again, as the stout man chuckles with one great fist in his other hand.

"Flimsy steel like that won't do you a bit of good, my good man. This, however, is not average steel." The stout man produce from inside his coat a long object wrapped in cloth. As he unravels it, you recognize it to be the sword of Kuro, the hitman you fought aboard a ship not long ago.

"I'm afraid I'm not too practiced with it, but I don't think that should be too great of a problem."

The room begins to clear out now, with people pouring out of the main entrance as well as the kitchen. Even the table full of old men seems to want no part of these events, taking their thugs with them. One man sits still in his seat however. The boss, the man who hired you, sits sipping a glass of wine as you fight for his amusement.

There really wouldn't be enough to fill another thread. Let's you and me finish this together, and then worry about all that later. I'm glad at least you have time to hang around.

Not a problem - it's fun playing with you, man.

You draw your rifle from the holster on your thigh, and load a shell into the chamber. Jet, if you aren't mistaken. You aim it at the stout man, ready to fire if he should try anything.

"Hold on now, you don't want to be doing anything like that. Why don't we put down the rifle and we can talk this over like gentlemen?"

I know you're here, I'm just curious about the others. I guess I did start the first thread at vacation time, so maybe it's just that most people aren't sitting around on 4chan right now. Hopefully Spring Break will perk things up.

"Oh I really wish you had been more reasonable." The stout man slides the sword from it's sheath, revealing a well polished blade. He brandishes it clumsily, thinking himself some sort of smooth agent. With one fat, gloved hand, he holds it out at you.

"If you truly refuse to be civil, then you leave me no choice." Suddenly, he is on the move, barreling towards you with the blade ready to strike.

You backpeddle to avoid his charge, narrowly escaping the wide swing of the blade. Despite his long reach, the stout man appears to be encumbered in terms of agility. He continues to pursue you, pressing you up against walls until you squeeze out of his trap. This continues until you begin to feel somewhat tired, but he shows no signs of slowing.

C go for the head, the body appears to be armored
>>
>>30949706
You fire two rounds at his torso. They hit him, as he is unable to move out of the way quickly enough. You watch as they rip and tear through his heavy coat and shirt, and expose a shining plate beneath.

"Damn you, I just had this made! Now the whole damn thing is ruined!" He rips the remainder of the coat away, revealing not armor, but an entire body made of steel. Golden copper plating and black wires, same as your arm. once the top is torn away, he tosses the hat away. You see now that his head is only half of that, the front half to be precise. The rear appears to be made from steel as well. What's more unsettling is the face he bares.

Before you stands Calvin, a dead man by any definition of the word.

"Let us continue then with this lovely dance!" He charges with the sword again. Things don't look to be in your favor.

As the blade comes down on you, you reach out your left hand and grasp it, stopping it in its tracks. With some force of will, the blue gems begin to glow with dull light, and the blade of Kuro's sword is coated in white crystals that spread from the palm of your hand. Calvin tries to draw the blade back, but you hold on with the help of the ice, and moments later, with a simple twist of your wrist, the blade snaps clean in half.

Calvin hops backward as you toss the shattered blade away. He follows suit, throwing away the useless handle of the sword, and stares at you with viscous eyes.

"Well I say, that is quite a trick you've picked up since we last met."

As one of Calvin's great arms attempts to break your skull open, you duck below its reach and get your left hand on Calvin's knee. You grip tight, willing the energy of the gems until the same icy crystals begin forming. Just as you let go, Calvin's fist meets you, and knock you sideways into a booth. The hit is painful, as is the landing, but you get up with plenty of time as Calvin tries to free his leg from the cold trap you set.

You pump four more of your jet shells into Calvin, each one glancing off of his sleek body. By the time you're done, and down to the blue shells, Calvin breaks free and angrily rushes toward you. You aim the rifle at him, and receive a metal fist in the chest as a reward. You are lifted up off of the table, and send backward into the bar, hitting a shelf and sending a barrage of bottles falling onto the ground. Your head throbs as you regain your senses. You can hear Calvin approaching the bar now.

"Come out of there now, and die like a man!"

You run across the bar, squeezing your fist tight and letting a thick layer of ice cover it. Your footsteps cause a great commotion, drawing Calvin's attention. Fortunately his reaction time is not quick enough to prevent you from smashing the ball of ice on the side of his head, shattering it and sending him to the ground. You yourself slip and fall, landing on your side. You look up and see Calvin struggling to get to his feet. His body clearly isn't made for this.

You approach Calvin, grabbing a full bottle of whiskey along the way. When he finds his knees, you swing and shatter the bottle against his head, toppling him again.

As Calvin struggles to get back up, you wrap your right arm under his chin, and place your left hand on the back of his head. You concentrate, and soon his entire head and neck begin to be encased in solid ice. Calvin struggles to throw you off, but it's no use once the process starts. Even as he stands, and tries to throw his weight into smashing you against the wall, you hold tight and soon he slows down. His head at the end of the struggle is covered in three inches of dense ice. He struggles to breathe, and you release him. With no breath, there is no power in his movements, and thus he is unable to break the icing slowly suffocating him. You turn away and look toward the raised table. The old man sits uneasy now, holding an empty wine glass and watching as Calvin struggles in vain.

You approach the elevated table, rifle drawn, never breaking eye contact with the old man. You take a seat across from him, resting your rifle on the table. The two of you stare at each other for what feels like hours before he speaks.

"Alright, you've got me. But killing me isn't going to solve anything. all it'll do is shake the balance of power in this city, and then you'll be back to living in the gutter. Is that what you want? Or, you could be on the payroll. It's obvious you're a good man to be allied with. You killed Calvin twice, and I can only assume Riley is dead since you're here at all. I'll tell you what, I'll even pay you what I promised, twenty-four thousand a year, every year you're with us. Think about it. You could live the high life, with those pretty young girls of yours. All you'd have to do is put down a few rabid dogs for me once in a while, and you'll be living on easy street. I know you're a smart man. Take this deal."

The two of you continue to stare at one another. He is nearly visibly shaking, as are you. Your hand feels uneasy on the trigger of your rifle. It's time to decide.

The room falls silent, as Calvin's last pained struggles come to an end, resulting in a mighty thud on the floor. You stare at the old man, reassuring him a thousand times in a single second that your words are as true as they come.

You stand, holstering the rifle. He continues to glare at you, but says nothing. You turn from him, and exit the club via the kitchen so as to avoid further trouble. You don't look back as you leave. There is never any fear of being shot in the back. You are out of the city by the next morning, with the coin you amassed over the past three nights. It's not a fortune, but it's enough to get to where you want to go.

Some days later, you arrive in a small port town far south of the Red Sea, and all it's bloody messes. You step off of the ferry with a large bag, containing coin, shells, and an empty rifle. You look up at the warm summer sun, and take in the fresh sea breeze. A familiar voice rings out from across the dock.

A buxom woman with auburn hair and a young girl with a long, red braid wave to you as they approach. You embrace them both, kissing each on the forehead. The woman responds with a deep kiss on the mouth, to the jealousy of the girl. You smile, and the three of you stand embracing a while longer.

Once the warmth has been squeezed out of you, you release each other and make your way toward a small house on the edge of town. Though a bit cramped and somewhat drafty, you know that with some hard work and investment, it will make a fine home. For tonight though, you only want to rest.

As you walk across the wooden dock to land, you feel the woman pull you down, pressing her lips to your ear.

"Let's see what it's like when you don't bite down."
