That between Frank's gnome powers, the hyper-advanced nature of the Wyvern, and Merlin's own Witch powers, we can take on things that would normally chew up and eat Witches for breakfast.Slider's reasoning for this this was to show Ice that most of her worrying is for nothing, because Frank and Merlin's capabilities far exceed what she thinks are their limitations. She wanted us to completely crush Ice in this mock dogfight, and saying that it was a close fight at all goes against that intention.

The briefing room- which probably hasn't been changed since the mid '60s- is filling up, and you can already tell it'll be unpleasant before too long- too many bodies, not enough space. You hope they at least have the good sense to not close the doors. You're not surprised to note the majority of the matrons- you recognize O'hare and Knight, among others, sitting up front. You find your seat- next to Slider and behind Katya and the Russians- the little one looks back when you sit down, and you see Konstantina shoot a look back over her shoulder, smiling when she sees you. She doesn't say anything though, just turns back around and looks up at the projector. You're kind of surprised when it's Matron O'hare that stands up and nods to the witch nearest the doors- she closes them with a soft thunk. Mentally, you curse. “We’re all here?” She asks, looking around. “Where's Gabriella- oh, there you are. Sorry dear. Anyone missing?” “Commander Kazanski isn't here.” a voice from up front you don't recognize says. “And I don't think I saw the Styles twins either.”“Commander Kazanski probably doesn't need to be here, hon.” O'hare says. “And even if she needed to, she probably wouldn't want to. And the Styles twins aren't going to be flying against Lieutenant Commander Bishop anyway, they're exempt. Still, it's something to be mindful of- you were too close when she juked right, and you almost didn't get the nose around in time to force her off, for example. 3/4 (oops)
