Notes on Rolls and Voting:

When I request rolls, each set of three rolls counts for one action. For example, a two-step plan would take the first 6 linked rolls. A particularly bad failure can interrupt a string of actions.

When rolling 1d100, I will consider criticals within the first ten linked rolls. Only criticals that occur in the first three rolls will be counted as "supercrits". This is still the case even if you'd have plan long enough to require more than ten rolls.

When rolling 1d20, the rules are the same, but I only consider criticals for the first five rolls, rather than ten. Criticals in the first three are still "supercrits".

When a plot choice results in extensive debate, I'll try to weed out the most popular trains of thought, and then call a vote on them. When voting, please respond with only a link back to the post and the number corresponding to your opinion. Other votes are discounted, including those with dice rolls or extra spaces.

Finally, note that this is not a democracy; it is a benevolent dictatorship.

Recent Events Summary:

Your enemies are still lacking a vital component of their plan, a component which may provide you with a window of opportunity to save Sir Flint. While Hemmelus's proposition of an ambush using the power of Chronomancy sounds feasible, it's also risky, and you decided to run the idea by your allies before coming to a decision.

You decided to consult with Hecate. She told you that Hemmelus's plan was possible with her powers, and she then assisted you on a Dream Walk. You were able to locate Donovan's dream, calm his nightmares, and tell him about the plan.

The morning after your chase, you discovered Yi Fang on his way to calling upon a fair lady, as he put it. You cloaked yourself and followed him, and he ended up at the Black Lady's room. That didn't surprise you - but what did is when he offered to take her hand in marriage as a means to unite their countries.

Melody evaded committment, but now you've somehow been roped into a double date with Abigail and the two leaders.

The four of you made your way to breakfast, and were joined by Auriel.

You've spoken with Auriel about the plan, and reminded her of a need to learn Spirit magic.

Meanwhile, you brought Abigail to the Nemesis. Her hand is now fully restored, thanks to your powers.

>Last time...

The gauntlet wavers, and vanishes. Abigail is left with a perfectly normal looking left hand. She raises her fingers up to the lights on the ceiling, staring at them in wonder.

She turns back to you. Her new hand touches your cheek. Her eyes start to well up. "I can feel them. I can feel you."

She starts to cry. You take her up in a hug and hold her against you while she lets it out.

It's a familiar position. She's been though a lot. Too much.

So have you.

You wonder that it hasn't effected you.

"Shadow," she says. "Now...I have enough strength to protect you, too. I can feel it. It can do more. I'll have to practice. But...thank you."

"I'm just sorry I ever hurt you in the first place, Abby."

"...s'ok," she says. She sniffs. "I wanted to make up for...messing up. I wanted to show you...I should have just let you and Adavan go, back on Xile. But I...it wasn't all your fault. So don't say it like it was."

You give her a squeeze. "...yes, councilor."

"...better."

"That," Steward says from across the room, "was an interesting observation."

"...Abby," you say, "I think those angels are better off dead. They knew about the plan...but consuming them like this...it felt a bit off."

Abigail looks up at you. "I was thinking you would need energy, and...if they had the chance, they would have killed us."

"No, I agree with your logic," you say. "But...I don't know. Something about it bothered me."

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to put pressure on you. I mean, none of this is even close to normal...but I don't think of it like that." You frown at her. "Well," she says, "You've never destroyed something beautiful. You don't run around eating people, right? So, for me...it's almost comforting. Like you're taking bad things into yourself so they can't ever hurt anyone again."

"...I guess I never thought of it like that."

She smiles. "I thought it was obvious. But it's sweet of you to worry about me."

"I just don't want this to be normal for us," you say. "I don't want you to think of it as normal."

"Sheesh, Shadow. It's not like I'm going to hold rooms of angels for you to devour." She shrugs. "At least, not every day."

"Abby!"

She chuckles. "I was just kidding." A grin splits her face. "Probably."

"That's not funny."

"I think it's hilarious."

"Abby."

"...sorry. I mean, sure, they're buried in the worst of unmarked graves right now...but I can't internalize everything that happens. It's part of dealing with all of this."

"Yeah. No, I just..."

"You worry about me." Her bright smile softens to a small, happy one. "I'm glad. But I'm ok."

"Good." You put your hands on her shoulders. "That's all I wanted to hear."

"Inquiry," Steward says. "Councilor, your hand is now restored. This will require explanation."

"Hold on," Abigail says. "I think I can..." She steps back from your embrace and raises her left hand. She bites her lip as she focuses on it. In a moment, it vanishes. A moment later, her body follows suit, blurred in shadows, and then gone. You can still feel a faint Spirit, though.

"You're almost completely hidden," you say. "Can you make it just apply to your hand."

Abigail's voice floats out of midair. "I think so." A moment later, she's back, though her hand is still gone - no. Rather, the illusion of her old stump is now in place over it. "Weird." She turns her arm over. "I wonder what the limits of this armor are."

I'd agree that having Auriel along would be educational. That, and I'd like to see how she reacts to our having stolen the Ragnarok.

And we may as well use the time in transit;

I think that whatever happened to Erebus made Erebus/Shadow separate entities for the purpose of accessing Erebus' old abilities.

"Steward," you say, "maybe you feel like you owe me. But I don't see it that way. I want to thank you. I think I could use my powers to improve your servers, if you'd like. More processing power, maybe?"

Steward is still.

He doesn't say anything.

"...uh, Steward?"

"There is no consensus on this subject," he says. "While it may add significant power to our servers, compensating for whatever changes occur might be difficult. The energy you demonstrated does not appear to be predicable. It is a decision that would require careful thought."

"Sure," you say. "I was thinking I might be able to use it to help with the barrier, too."

Steward doesn't move. "We have copious volumes of data on observational studies conducted by 002 concerning the barrier. While analyzing the release of your power, I detected a pathway opened to a energy source of significant potential."

"Yeah," you say. "Some sort of gateway."

"Similar openings are scattered through the barrier at regular intervals. They are constantly pouring in this energy as a counter to the waves and pulses of chaos that wrap the barrier-space. Based on the pattern of intervals, we detect that none have been damaged. I would conclude that your artifact power could add nothing that isn't already there and in operating at full effectiveness. However, perhaps, if you could augment your ability, it might be used to replace the section of the barrier that has been damaged."

Augment your artifact ability? You can only wonder at that. It's so strong already. How much power does the barrier need?

If you assume that all magic in the world and all the power from mana pools comes from the core of chaos...it's an unfathomable quantity of energy. You'll need power to seal it up. A lot of power.

But where can you get that much?

>con't
>>
>>30767503
I'm a little too skeptical to think that the Earth-Shadow tree-bridging abilities will be unlocked by Tree Gift. Maybe with Sage + Tree Gift of both trees, but I can't see just one of them justifying unlocking something like Shadow Totem (which obviously needs elements of both trees), or Pocket (which I'm not even sure is actually Earth OR Shadow, really. I guess Earth for constructing and reenforcing a space and Order to keep it isolated from the Nether at large, but that could be a stretch.)

>>30767552
Irrespective of anyone's feelings on the Avatar conflict, it at least cleared up that Light and Chaos are not the same thing; Light is the most chaotic of the 7 elements, of course, but it is not in and of itself Chaos.

You'd need a dynamo of Chaos to even think about this being a plan of action, and even then, I can't imagine a bog standard Dynamo casing would be able to stand up to the energy output.
>>
"Well, we can worry about it later," you say. "Is there a way to contact Tyrael from this room?" you ask. "I've still got the Ragnarok. I want to see if we can dock it with the Nemesis - Auriel seemed to think we could. And we have this angel, here, too, as a witness - she'll know how to use him best."

"I think there's a contact point for the ship's intercom in the hallway outside this room," Abigail says.

You walk out into the hall, and explain to the shadow mages that they now only have to guard one angel. They give you grim nods; two of them go to take a break, and the other two remain on-duty to maintain their smaller cloud of sleep over the sole prisoner.

You press the intercom. "Hello?"

There's a moment of quiet. Tyrael's voice comes on over the speakers near you. "That you, Shadow?"

"Yes. Want to try docking the Nemesis with another airship?"

"Couldn't hurt to try. But do we have another to dock it with? Is Arcturis lending us one?"

"No," you say, "I captured the Ragnarok during the fight with the angels."

"So that's where it went! By the way, how the hell did you do that? And, it's actually in one piece? We all figured you took it apart or something. Some people even said you'd eaten it."

"Just put it somewhere safe. Can you contact Auriel and ask her to join us?"

"Will do. I'll pilot us into Archon's territory. There won't be any angels there, and Fang's ships know our callsign. I'll be broadcasting to give us some space."

"Sounds like a plan."

On the up-side, at least exploding the void uplink in our Frozen Hand palace didn't totally ruin the containment barrier by disrupting the flow of Order. Pretty sure we're going to need to recalibrate the power output from somewhere out in the Void once we get our Venian affairs in order.

"You're telling me that you inserted the entirety of the Ring City's most powerful gunship into your own personal nether-plane?"

"Basically."

Auriel grins. She rubs her hands together and cackles like an insane witch. "Excellent work, Shadow."

"I thought so, too."

"Alright," she says. "The Ragnarok should dock on on the back of the ship." Auriel glances out the wide windows at hte front of the Nemesis's bridge. "Set us down, Tyrael. That looks like a good spot."

It's been about an hour's travel. The airship lands in a low valley tucked into the edge of the Archon highlands. You fly out behind the ship and unpocket the Ragnarok.

There's no sound, no aplomb - it's simply there. It groans slightly as it lands on the grass, rocking gently, then settling to a halt. It was smoking, earlier, but now that's gone. Probably not all that much fresh air in your pocket.

Tyrael and a small brigade of angels board the ship and power up its engines. It lifts a few dozen feet off the ground. They gingerly pilot into the wide, open arms that form the stern of the Nemesis.

Black segments of your Artificed adamantium extend out from the stern, clamping around the Ragnarok - and then they begin to change. What once might have been simple clamps become beams of Shadow energy that twist and wrap around the Ragnarok's outer portions. It's latched in place far more securely than it otherwise would be.

You fly back inside the Cirrus and head up to the bridge. Everyone's gathered around the main control console situated on the raised platform above the lower console banks. Auriel is peering at it intently. She glances back when you come in. "Shadow, come take a look at this."

You wade through the crowd and pop up next to Abigail. A purple screen of light has appeared over the normal teal display showing the status of the ship's systems. The map of the ship has a black outline of the Ragnarok added in.

"That's never been there before," Abigail says. She traces down the screen with her finger. "Complete docking. Initiate repair. And...cannibalize systems? What do you suppose that means?"

Auriel shrugs. "The first seems simple enough. The second...well, maybe the Nemesis's systems can repair docked airships. The last...well...who knows?"

What do you do?

In that order, assuming one doesn't somehow invalidate the following. No point in docking with or taking parts from a damaged airship.
>>
>>30768010
>It was smoking, earlier, but now that's gone. Probably not all that much fresh air in your pocket.

Because we should probably address this before deciding to put anyone inside again.

>>30768026

Don't just fucking shred it for parts right off the bat.

Cannibalizing upgrades the Nemesis, but "completing" the docking process probably integrates the Ragnarok as well (if not necessarily as completely), while still allowing it to detach for use as an interceptor craft.

There's no chance you guys aren't just going to vote to just eat the ship immediately, though. God fucking damnit.

We can just say that we had some armaments fitted just recently that we had been working on for the upcoming war.

But there are too many variables to this conversation. Like how their angles were able to surgically remove flint from the ship. Why they would continue attacking a ship once they realized flint was on it. How they found it in the first place. Ext ext ext. Countless ways one can point a finger at the other. We will have to see how it goes when the topic does come up.

You press the third button.

The screen flashes, then vanishes.

"Shadow!" Auriel says. "You think, maybe, we should have thought about that for 5 seconds?!"

"What's the worst that could happen?"

The Nemesis shudders. Everyone takes a step for balance. Abigail clutches your arm. Auriel glances up at the ceiling, eyeing the support beams suspiciously. "Well, let's see. The ship blows up. We all die."

"That won't happen."

The ship rocks again.

A metallic voice rings out over the intercom. -CANNIBALIZATION OF DOCKED SYSTEMS COMMENCING-

Two meters on the right-hand side of the console begin to rise. Auriel leans forward. "Dynamo output is increasing. Whoa. Whoa!" She grips the sides of the screen. You can all feel the rising points of Shadow, and Shadow-stained Wind in the bowels of the ship as they begin to churn. "They're going nuts!"

-----
-----

The beams of shadow connecting the Ragnarok to the Nemesis increase in intensity. They warp, shift, grow, like tendrils mutating with their own thought.

They pull. And the Ragnarok begins to come apart.

Piece by piece, the entire ship is dismantled. Each section, bulwarks, hallways, guns, and even the heavily-armored bridge, float up into the air, guided by beams of shadow and wrapped in a cloak of darkness. The Nemesis itself rises up into the air, carrying the various parts with it.

The engine room shines with Lightning. It travels under the main fuselage of the Nemesis and implants itself near where the main Shadow dynamo is. The whirling golden magic begins to crackle a deep purple.

>con't
>>
Guns implant themselves along the ship, the majority along the edges of the lower arms and under the bow. Some find new comes along the top of the ship, and the starboard and port sides, covering the Nemesis with cannons pointing in every direction. The ship creaks and thunders as metal slams against metal. Smoke wraps the adamantium as if begins to melt, merge with the dark power, and the individual sections fuse together.

The heavily armored bridge of the Ragnarok floats in last and slides into place directly under the glass-bordered bridge of the Nemesis. It's lined with its own smaller cannons and one long artillery gun meant to shell the ground beneath the ship.

------
------

Everyone's holding onto the railings, now, as the shift rocks and churns. The map of the ship on the display lights up and blinks as new gun emplacements suddenly dot the edges. A third energy meter appears next to the other two, and immediately fills to maximum. Lines of light alternately glowing gold-black light connect that core to the various weapons systems on the schematic's display.

The metal under the console begins to hiss. There's a few shouts. Everyone scrambles away.

The adamantium, mixed with the black Order, begins to rise from the ground. An entire new piece of the console begins to take shape. It solidifies into a pedestal of wires and steel, hooked into the rest of it - and then a bright screen flares up above it. Every gun is highlighted in detail.

"Weapons," Auriel says. "We've got weapons!"

>con't
>>
>>30768627
It's already a floating city.

It'd be an even better floating city with its own built-in defense force.

Let's talk to Yi Fang about it.
>>
The bridge rocks again - you feel the impact below your feet. There's another hiss of morphing metal. Between the control console and the officer's table further back, near the entrance, rises a cylindrical chamber a few yards across and several high. Twin doorways on either side form out of the shapeless steel, alongside a single button.

Everyone stares.

"...so where do you think that goes?" Abigail asks.

The door opens. A hand grasps the edge of the metal. Everyone leans back in horror.

Tyrael pokes his head out onto the bridge. "Oh, good. For a second there, I thought we were screwed. Hey Captain."

"Light, Tyrael," Auriel says. "You scared the shit out of us!"

"I, for one," Tyrael says, "would have appreciated a little warning before the airship I was one was taken apart like puzzle pieces."

"Sorry," you say. "But it worked out, right?"

Tyrael grins. "You should see the Weapons Room. We've got direct manual control of every gun right below. At least, I think we do. I took the stairs, but I think that other door was an elevator. I didn't want to risk it until I knew where it went."

All power to main cannon? We can do that... It will punch a hole straight through the entire earth, but we can do it.

Light/shadow annihilation dynamo seems counterproductive. They'd cancel each other out, not produce more energy.

All systems run on separate power - Wind for propulsion/shielding, shadow for cloaking and general magical defense, and now shadow/lightning for weapons. However, power can be pulled from each dynamo and dedicated to other systems, just not at the same efficiency.

I'll save time and say you did ask her. She tells you that the dwarves kept knowledge of the exact production method limited to a handful of individuals that worked in absolute secrecy. What shells the other elementals empowered were either traded for before the major fighting broke out or stolen.

The weapons room is an impressive array of wall-mounted screens and seating. The dim, windowless room blinks with the lights of dozens of screens. If it's kept its outer armor, then in addition to the Nemesis's resistance to magic, it's probably almost impenetrable.

You sit down at one of the seats. A set of handles with several triggers clicks out of the wall in front of you. The screen lowers down to where your head is. An image of the valley's north face appears before you. A targeting reticule with various notches and percentages flickers to life over the landscape. A multicolored region around the target shows the boarders of the cannon's collateral damage.

"Wow. This is impressive."

Auriel is going crazy with her own seat, swiveling her chosen gun about. The seat actually rises and shifts with her as she pushes the aim as far as it can go in each direction. "Absolutely beautiful. I could get use to this."

"You'll have to stay on the upper bridge, Captain," Tyrael says. "Don't worry, I'll take care of things down here."

"Like I'd let you steal all the fun," she says. She jumps out of her chair and faces Tyrael. Her face looks like death. "Are there any settlements around here?"

>con't

And you fucks said that the Nemesis was useless.

"Map said the closest town was twenty miles east."

"Good," she says. "Were testing the cannons. We're going to find the most powerful and accurate ones. I want to know what our range needs to be for 100% accuracy."

"What for?" you ask. "I mean, besides the obvious. Does accuracy always need to be 100%?"

"No," she says, "but for what I have in mind, it does."

"What are you planning?"

"I'll tell you in a bit, when we have everyone together. Especially Hemmelus. Otherwise I won't know if it'll work."

-----
-----

Target practice commences. You feel sorry for the valley.

It takes Auriel about an hour to decide on a twin set of very long, thin cannons set directly under the weapons room as being the best tradeoff of power and accuracy. You also learn that you can shoot while the ship is cloaked, though you can't avoid the bursts of energy that come from the cannons. And Tyrael tells you that a smart enemy would try to trace the path of shells back to their source, anyway - that's what they did when enemies were at a vast distance, or at a different altitude.

We know how, he doesn't know we know, fix that while we're discussing machinery.

Pick up/pull out shade, and go over how you did it with steward
>>
>>30769368
It always had these features. We just weren't using them properly.

It isn't the Bows fault that the Archer is using it as a club.
>>
>>30769293
"If anyone knows of any unusable airship wrecks, now would be a good time to speak up."

"Steward, if you've got any non-functioning items you have no need of, we could integrate them into this vessel."
>>
>>30769376

This. Oh god, if we do ANYthing, give steward a way to replace his losses in the coming battle.

It shouldn't take much effort to just show him how - and it frees up all those robots they have scouring the wastes for extra derelict cores.
>>
>>30769280

That was before we found out it was like us. An all consuming ever evolving death machine. We just didn't realize we had to feed it first.

It'd be faster for us to just teleport to Haven and pocket the Jump Drive.

Also, ask Steward if he wouldn't mind integrate some kind of corridor in one of City 001's mana pool generators?

In case we need to stop by sometimes?

>"Steward," you say, "we need to talk."
>"I am already halting the dismantling of the Jump Drive," Steward says. "We can observe it at another time. Having it in position and functional upon this craft is high-priority."
>"You read my mind."
>"I predicted what you would say."

"Bet you didn't predict this! i've got a surprise for you! Behold! I remembered how power cores work, AND i found some notes on dynamo construction in Xile - i lost em, but I remember the gist. Lets talk ENGINEERING"

Also:
I would like to see new robot designs with a) multiple Power Cores working in synch, which later evolves into: An Order-Chaos nullification engine, with a power core of shadow and, say, earth using the energies released when they cancel out(that we ooc call xp) to Power Things.

His main base was a Power Cre manufacturing plant, and it's why 002 didn't attack him.

LET US FEED THE NEMESIS

We should sneak into the Kan-Abar airspace and steal airships out from under them. Like, pocket all their airships in a single night, and then feed them to the nemesis.

ahahahaha

Abby! Feed more Magilithium crystals into the shadow core!
Weapons to maximum!
>>
>>30769453

We already talked to him about that a fair bit. We only know how to infuse a dynamo with energy, but making the core shell is still lost knowledge.
>>
So how many people can the nemesis hold comfortably for an extended period of time?
>>
>>30769488

The problem with the nemesis is the same as the one with Shadow
it can only be in one place at once.

Eating Everything is kind of nice.

But having an army that can take a region, instead of a city, is better.

A better use of stealing enemy airships would just be to straight up give them to Steward, as troop transports.
>>
>>30769488
Yes.
>>
>>30769293

Yup. Talk power cores to steward already, SM
>>
Fuck it, lets just build a shadow pool into the Nemesis. Jump into the shadow core. Then reboot the quest as "Nemesis Shadow Quest" where all we do is fly around, blow shit up, and eat other airships.

We need to go Airship pocketing.

A better bet would be to interrupt the summoning of the last demon lord, though.

lords may be powerful, and going after them may attract the others, but striking at the summoning in progress? Not tied fully to the others, yet, and it may give us the most essential of things:
More Time to prepare. If it buys us another week to get ready, we'll be golden.

No, he doesn't. They lost core and dynamo construction knowledge, which is why city 001 and 002 were constantly fighting over robot scraps in the desert.

Facilities doesn't = Knowledge.
It just means when he GETS the knowledge, he can use it immediately.

Also, Power Cores do not = Dynamos.

You speak with Steward about Shade, and how you made a power core. He pays rapt attention the entire time and inspects your robot with a critical eye.

"Can I dismantle and examine this unit more carefully after we arrive in Haven?"

"...uh...Shade, you don't mind?"

"I do not have a mind to mind," Shade says mechanically. "I exist to obey your orders."

"...I'll take that as a yes."

"Good," Steward says. "we may make significant progress. We will need to be able to replace our losses in the future, and create new units. Relying on ancient versions of our mobile platforms is unwieldy and at times risky."

"Anything you can think to add to the Nemesis?"

Steward shakes his head. "Current resources are fueling the war effort. I apologize, Shadow, but bringing up our equipment is taking up all the labor we have to spare."

"Not at all. Keep it in mind for me."

"We will do so."

You also give Steward all the information you have on dynamos, including the scraps you picked up in Xile, as well as the time you were able to charge a new, functional dynamo on the Nemesis.

He takes it all into account, but again says that time will be needed - especially with less than a week before you strike at the demons.

"I had another idea."

"Indeed."

"What if our ground forces could paint targets for the guns? Help the gunners find things of importance that they needed to take down?"

Steward pauses. He is still and silent as he communicates with his compatriots several hundred miles away. "That has strong potential application. I will put several of my drones in the weapons room to study the systems linking the weapons together. At worst, they can communicate with my own constructs on the ground as manual spotters."

--------
--------

You fly the ship to Haven.

Upon landing, you discover a field of some 200 robots already milling about Haven like ants. The fortress looks different - it's bristling with steel, reinforced on all sides. They're rapidly constructing additional surface structures.

"What are you making?" you ask Steward.

"Housing of a more adequate nature. Your cabins were rather bare."

"True."

"We will not risk Haven's secrecy. Most construction is taking place underground. The direct tunnel to Va'ad is almost completed. In time, we plan to add high-speed transport. With your permission we could attempt to set up a permanent portal, but those can be dangerous if breached by the enemy."

"Keep things conservative for now."

"I will do so."

A group of twenty robots is carrying a part of the Noiralev toward you even as you land. In short order, they hoist it up and leave it in the docking area of the ship. Black beams of light secure the mess of wires and valves and hydraulics. Everyone braces as you press the cannibalize button.

-COMMENCING CANNIBALIZATION-
-REPAIR CRITICAL-
-COMMENCING REPAIR-

Numbers flash on the command console. They're counting down. Inspection of the jump drive shows the black beams flickering and moving around in a repetitive, robotic fashion. Steward tells you that it appears they are scanning the structure of the drive. You quickly surmise that it will take two days for the Jump Drive to be repaired to a state in which is can be integrated into the ship.

"Extremely." She puts her hands on her hips. "...this is my element, shadow. I started as a healer, but I rose as an airship pilot, and then I became a captain. They attacked us before. They were able to assess the Nemesis. But we'll keep adding onto it, giving it new capabilities that they won't be able to predict. They think they have us figured out. We have another surprise on our side." She puts a hand on the steel support lining the glass wall of the bridge. "Hemmelus's spell will give us our window of opportunity, but this is the sword that will cut Donovan's chains. Just you wait."

Who is coming to the plan discussion?

People that know these things:

And ask Adavan if he's comfortable with Fang knowing. He may be a conniving bastard, but he can keep a secret.

WAY TO RUB IT IN, SM, JEEZ.

>Anyone else you want to include in the 'Hecate' loop? Maybe Fang?
I'm still a little weary of Fang, if only because he's the type of guy who will drop a big revelation on somebody just to see them squirm, as demonstrated during his interaction with Gerald and Arcturis.

This is big enough that he can probably control himself well enough to keep it under wraps, though. We should tell Adavan we plan to include him first, though, as a sort of professional courtesy.

Are we really just going to mix and match people who know about Hecate, us being Erebus, and both by just leaving it at the abstract "don't worry about powering it" and praying people don't mention the wrong elemental lord while explaining that "everyone knows, or they wouldn't be here. no need to beat around the bush." and blowing the whole operation?

>>30770134
I'd be comfortable with just letting Hemmelus handle briefing Arcturis in part after the meeting.

>>30770174
This is a good point, but I don't know that she's really going to be much of a part of the chronomancy plan, so I'm not sure she really needs to be briefed.

One final airship thing to consider.

We should set it up with a dedicated alliance control room. It should be linked into the radar systems and display a live list of active forces in battle, and be able to command them too. Have all the allied forces present get their commanders on board so we can link together even better. Call it the Alliance C&C room.

SM, could we ask Steward to build this into a spare room for us?

I wouldn't. Mages already have spells and structures in place to rapidly communicate. Basically, what you're suggesting isn't really necessary for any further advantages.

Uh.

Gonna take a shot at a summary here, because anon here deserves to know just how bad things have been.
trying to recall how it played out, correct me if i forget details, etc

Basically, short version is, SM lost his cool, nerve and had a bout of temporary insanity, and shoved a railroad
It was a foolproof plan, until he decided he wanted us to lose, and retroactively placed a mole in haven(without thinking of consequences, like, oh, Adavan being a mind mage) to justify it and we just flat up lost.
And THEN we got a visit my His Magical Realm, and the ubersexylicious avatard of chaos - all elements, hateboner for order, and giant pair of titties.
Oh and she's a shapeshifter and was xella the whole time.
Yeah. i'm not kidding. There are archives if you wanna see the swearing thrown around

And furthermore, we spent the next few quests and discussion threads calling him out on it, realizing how big of a fuckup it was, how it invalidated pretty much everything we did and took choices out of the players hands.
But things moved on, and fixes and ways to continue were brought up, discussed, telled at, trolled, countertrolled, and eventually distilled into something usable: A) Retcon the stupidity to the breaking point, and proceed in a new, but much more sensibile direction
or a) slap some flimsy justification and What Really Happened onto the fuckup and keep going with SM's fanfic messup version.

You know how SM's kinda great at making trappy greentext choices, and guiding the players into picking things that aren't necessarily the greatest options?

Well, he wrote a lot of words to explain the situation, and didn't really explain the second one (like the shapeshifting marysue avatar so many people had a problem with, which would have gone away for good, but was in a QTG of all places, not the main thread.)

.... and we voted to go along with what we wanted, and play the Magical Realm Version (with continuity fixes!), and SM is throwing us all sorts of shiny toys and XP and powers to disguise the fact that he shat all over pretty much all our plans/buildup/ideas since...... well, ever. Since we met flint, since xile, everything.

And its working.

So.... now we're picking up the pieces of shadowquests, the XP Voting parties are kind of going 'fuck it, buy inconsequential shit, cuz nothing we do will matter), a lot of the playerbase has vanished because The Vote was split pretty much down the middle... but at least we've used artifact a bunch, the starship enterprise is being made, and gobs of xp being thrown our way. 50 from the avatard, chunks of 15 from consuming angel prisoners, lampshade-murdergifts from NPC's so we can finally chosen/servant/artifact things we've been meaning to forever, all in preperation for this big battle where we'll roll a bunch of 1's and get flint killed

Let me give a more accurate and concise version of what happened. The other anon isn't exactly unjustified; a lot of people are still sore about it, but it's greatly exaggerated. Here's the short of it: SM made a mistake in guiding his players, he thought they made a mistake, but from what they knew it seemed a secure option. When they kept trying to rescue Flint as a result of that miscommunication, he saw it as them rushing to solve a problem when they needed to step back, when in reality all the players knew was that they had to keep pushing before it was too late. SM and the players talked it out, and we decided it could be salvaged, but those who disagreed, instead of leaving, decided they wanted to keep exaggerating things and complaining about their free entertainment that they receive on a regular basis.

SM and the players had a miscommunication caused by SM treating the quest more like a story he was telling instead of a quest that he's running.

He apologized and the majority of the players agreed to see things through on the promise he wouldn't do it again.

Some people believe they still have no agency even now and SM is just driving the train to it's final station because they've lost their trust in SM over this fuck up.

Made me feel like he was about some other things in his post, too, before I reread it.

>>
>>30771131
To be fair, the whole "Avatar of Chaos" thing was a little iffy in that regard.
It makes sense to me that there would be a chaotic mirror to Erebus; both being outsiders to Venia, I was actually expecting it when we learned about Erebus's nature, so I don't have a problem with it and don't think it needed to be retconned.
But, as SM himself said, it was just an idea that was rushed into execution to change course. Not QM fiat, but a poor introduction of a concept in a rush to make something happen in a certain way, which is pretty close.

Enough of this talk, though, we have shit to do that's actually relevant.

It's that he didn't break his own rules, and he didn't break characterization for the characters.
>>
>>30771266
But anon, the sentence about the free entertainment received on a regular basis was both irrelevant and smelled strongly of supporting SM's decision.

>>
>>30771243
The interaction between a QM as the storyteller and the players who are supposed to direct how the story plays out is a little more complicated than that, but...

I'm not going to say that you're wrong.
If SM says "My life is having a problem because of X, I'm going to end SQ on a terrible note by making everybody die so I can drop it," we have no right to stop him.

I think the Chaos Control Matrix is the best bet, honestly - Use artifact to strengthen the barrier, but also put a valve on it.

As shit a game as C&C4 was, the Tiberium Control System was a kinda nifty idea(and poorly implimented), and I think we could actually make Balance in venia, instead of world-shattering cycles of magical rising and exploding all over the place in war.

There's also that Vigil System to consider.

Your allies meet in a room with one hour until the general council with Sandalphon, the angels, and the rest of your alliance.

Present are Steward and Ila, sharing a wall in mutual silence. Melody is also standing, opposite Steward and Ila. Auriel, Valeria, and Abigail are seated at the table. Hemmelus is at the head of it; Adavan is next to him. You're seated opposite Hemmelus.

Fang is the last to arrive, having been summoned by a messenger after the rest of you had gathered. He steps into the room. Everyone looks up at him. He looks back, then folds his arms. "The pre-meeting meeting, hmm? It's about time you all decided to tell me what you've been hiding."

You're not surprised that he suspected something, but you're not quite sure how to word it. Probably easiest just to fall back on being blunt.

You stand from your chair. The wood scrapes over the stone floor. You face him. "It has nothing to do with who I am, now, or what my goals are. In a past life, Archmage, I was Erebus. I'm what remains of him, collecting itself together and slowly restoring its strength."

Fang stares at you.

There is absolute silence. No one says anything. Everyone watches the Archmage for his reaction.

Fang purses his lips. He nods to himself. He steps up beside you and clasps a hand on your shoulder.

It's ice cold.

<Just one thing, -Shadow-.>

<...yes?>

<Take good care of Abigail.>

You almost do a double-take. You weren't sure what you were expecting, but it wasn't that.

He lets his arm fall and takes a seat near you. "Alright. What's the order of business?"

"What, that's it?" Auriel says. "You can't possibly make me believe that you saw this coming."

"The possibility had crossed my mind once or twice, Highest, but no, I didn't take it seriously. Will that be all?"

Auriel makes a face, but sits back in her chair.

Hemmelus clears his throat. "Well...to get everyone on the same page..."

>con't

What would happen if we artifacted a Shadow Mana pool?
>>
-------
-------

"So," Fang says. He folds his hands neatly on the table. "We will create a small bubble of slowed time using your spell and Hecate's powers. Shadow, will you be contributing?"

"If I can use chronomancy, I haven't remembered how," you tell him. "I'll be on the ground, probably as part of Obis's direct strike on Kan-Abar."

"That leaves us to take care of Donovan while you're taking down the summoners that are keeping the demon lords alive," Fang says. "Are you comfortable with that?"

How do you respond?

>...on second thought, I'd prefer to be at the battlefield
>let's wait to see what the angels have planned before assigning positions permanently
>no, I'm fine with going to Kan-Abar
>some other strategy
>>
>>30771434

Where? I must have missed that one.

Because i took away that it would be used to fix the barrier.
> However, perhaps, if you could augment your ability, it might be used to replace the section of the barrier that has been damaged."

I'm proposing to do THAT, but take it a step further and put a valve on it that we can entrust steward to control/monitor - don't just keep it in the core where it will *eventually* build up and break free, but find a way to vent pressure so it never actually builds up.
>>
>>30771455
>>let's wait to see what the angels have planned before assigning positions permanently
>>
>>30771455
If we're using the airship for the direct strike on Kan-Abar and THEN having it jump drive to the battle for Flint's rescue we could easily ride it back there if necessary.

Issue with that though is whether we can finish our job on time.

Hmm, on one hand, we need a heavy hitter like us at Kan-Abar, on the other it would suck to leave this up to everyone else.

>>
>>30771455
>>let's wait to see what the angels have planned before assigning positions permanently
We need to see how many they plan on deploying and where.
>>
>>30771390
It feels like it's kind of a bribe almost.

To elaborate on the Dark Times:

After SM decided that Flint needed to be captured, he made sure that that would happen, despite other characters repeatedly assuring Shadow that the Nemesis was a good idea, he made Haven suddenly have a mole, and the angels be able to corner the Nemesis, kidnap Flint, and teleport him, in like... less than a day.

However, he underestimated our cleverness and determination to rescue our friend, namely getting the coordinates from one of the angels, so we could be sent to where Flint was.

That's when he brought the Avatar of Chaos out of nowhere, and in full Aizen monologue mode, and gave us a cutscene battle where we got cool stuff but passed out for an undetermined amount of time.

When people objected to this, SM said a lot of truly regrettable things that are better not repeated.
>>
>>30771455
Having access to a manapool within Kan-Abar would cinch this easily.

Or stealthing there and placing our Anchor.
>>
I think that historically everyone else has had better dice rolls then us.
>>
>>30771554
Well, except for Abby.
>>
>>30771455

>>
>>30771455
>no, I'm fine with going to Kan-Abar
They are generally more competent than us, probably.
>>
>>30771438
>You stand from your chair. The wood scrapes over the stone floor. You face him. "It has nothing to do with who I am, now, or what my goals are. In a past life, Archmage, I was Erebus. I'm what remains of him, collecting itself together and slowly restoring its strength."

I feel like we need to continue this/prompt it/let everyone know we're on the same page.

Speech possibles?
"I don't remember my time as erebus. Some of you" *nods to the older immortals* "have more personal experience than I do. But of all the stories, Erebus is most known for being cold, distant, impartial. He didn't have that missing spark that makes life worth living, that piece of.... humanity, of life. And you all have, in each your own way, shown me just how precious a thing it is. No matter what happens over the next week, you have my gratitude for your companionship. Thank you all for being here."

>>
>>30771589

>some other strategy
Hemmelus knows what it means to perform a Telling. A reasonable number of Taremtis' Tellings are pointing toward upcoming events; Obis reclaiming his birthright, Auriel wanting to protect Donovan, Donovan asking how to be rid of his parasite.

A bunch of these had implied consequences; consequences we really, really don't want to have come to pass.

We should at least make sure we're not stepping on the toes of Prophecy when we make our final plans.
>>
Here's how I see it.

The summoners are going to be something they really need to guard and even if we use the other guys as a distraction we absolutely need a heavy hitter like us to fight off the guys there.

Obis will be in the Kan-Abar party and without us he's dead, according to prophecy.

Tactically speaking, all we could do at the main battle is just bring more firepower with Eclipse+Void Ring/Bomb spam on their main army for a distraction.

I think we should stick to Kan-Abar.
>>
>>30771589

Second: "I realize that the name Erebus is really scary. I'd appreciate it if you didn't use it. Not just because it conjures up feelings from the past, but because its not who i am. Legion is GOING to make a tentacle attack when this shit goes down.

He's not gonna shit idly by while a great fucking hole in the nether - his ticket OUT of banishment - gets ripped to make way for hyperion.

No fucking way is he gonna take that sitting down.

So!

How ARE we going to make sure legion doesn't fuck all our plans up?

Cuz bringing him up to our allies, and trying to visit him, are the only ideas i've got.

This plan HINGES in perfect timing and teamwork, and legion's an unknown variable that SM *will not* leave alone and forgotten.

His ladyfriend is already dead.
Granted, that might not fulfill it because she was apparently already dead when the prophecy happened, but my point is that it might not even be somebody we're aware of. We should try to satisfy the prophecy's conditions, but let's not be paranoid about it.
Plus there's the fact that he found out about Matthel, who he thought was his closest family member, actually being a massive asshole. "Not preserving all you care for" doesn't necessarily mean someone has to die; the relationship between Matthel and Flint is already ruined forever, and Matthel was someone Flint cared deeply for.

To clarify: pocketing dave is dumb as shit.
But dream walking to talk to him and make sure he won't fuck our plans up?
That may be smart.

He's *desperate* to see erebus again, and now that we're whole again? He may be less hostile - and our last conversation with him? We actually got him to *back down*

Anyway, I don't read QTG. That's a bad coincidence - but do try to seperate it out - and plan around legion interfering.

he used to interfere with us ALL THE TIME, and we haven't seen him in forever.

What i'm saying is, we're long overdue for a Legion Incident.
>>
>>30771835
I think this could easily be left as just referring to uncovering Matthel's betrayal rather than actually requiring anyone to actually die.

On the first topic;
>"To glimpse at what -could-, what -should-, what -may-, steals my mind away. Too many are the possibilities. I am a tiny candle in a storm of potential. And now, after many Tellings, I am a kernel buried in kindhearted madness. Your impatience does not lighten that burden."
Taremtis more or less stated that Tellings were mostly guidelines, rather than immutable truths that lie in the future.

But they are STRONG guidelines. Auriel's Telling was pretty absolute on what she would need to do if she wanted to keep protecting Donovan. It could easily just have been metaphorical ("trust your spirit" being used as synecdoche for the lesser elements in general, and beseeching her to reconsider which side she was going to stand on.) For all we know, she already has this part of the prophecy in the bag, and has since going rebel during the Ring City uprising.
>>

I would literally try to buddy up with Sandals than go for Legion.
>>
>>30771883
JUST STOP.

You don;t actually know whats been going on do you?

We're going to be stopping the summoning before it even starts anyway. Not to mention the barrier that the angels have set up for that specific purpose.

Legion may make a minor appearance, but actually bringing him to this pane would take a summoning spell on the level of the one being used to summon hyperion.

This is actually an even WORSE idea than bringing Legion into Venia, since entities are orders of magnitude stronger in their own dream realm than they are in reality.
>>
>>30771883
There is no way drawing out Dave on purpose could ever be beneficial unless you think we could kill him now. Securing his cooperation in any way is beyond reasonable; his mind is ruined. He only ever cared about slaughtering for Erebus's attention before, even more so now. If we purposely meet him, that's just another opportunity for him to fuck us before the battle even happens.

>>30771930

If he can hijack portals and shit then why hasn't he been doing it constantly to us?

We've only had like 3 encounters with him and none of them were portals.

1 was the desummoning of Xella
1 was the Archonium
what was the other?

"Are there any mana pools in Kan-Abar?" you ask.

Auriel nods. "Wind, Fire, Earth."

"Alright. I know for a fact that I can quickly travel back here if there's an earth one. That will save time. And if we fly the Nemesis there, we could jump back."

"I had hoped to have the Nemesis at the battle," Fang says.

"Actually, Shadow," Auriel says, "I want the Nemesis at the battle, too. It'll be part of the plan to save Donovan."

"What do you mean?"

"Hemmelus," she says, "how will the time magic behave?"

Hemmelus frowns. "Well, it's simple. Everything inside will be slowed about a thousand times or so...that means five seconds inside of it is over an hour for us. From outside, everything within it will appear as a statue. From within, everything outside will appear to move as accelerated speeds."

"What about things going into and out of the bubble of magic?"

"Well," Hemmelus says, "you can't exist in two states of time at once. The magic compensates for this by freezing in time anything that tries to cross the barrier. It's a paper-thin layer, so it's possible to do so because it doesn't have to cover any actual space. Once the spell fades, they are unfrozen."

"So let's say," Auriel says, "that we make this bubble, and then I unload about, oh, ten or twenty cannon shots at targets around Donovan and the sigil?"

Hemmelus steeples his fingers. "They'd be frozen when they hit the bubble - matter or energy, it matters not. When the spell faded, they'd continue moving with the momentum that they had before."

"Then you see what I'm planning," she says. "Slow time. Fire shots. They get frozen. Time goes back to normal. They're hit by ten fully-charged artillery shots all at once."

"Vicious, and impossible to see coming," Fang says. "I like it. But are you sure the collateral won't harm the knight?"

As someone with a track record of hijacking spells to get out of the nether what makes you think giving a spell for him to hijack to talk to him is a good idea?

This is a really fucking huge point.

If he tried to kill abby to attention whore, then he'll probably try to make a move on Flint just to be #1 in erebus's eyes.

"Not if I use a particularly accurate dynamo-powered laser canon."

"You're enjoying this too much," Hemmelus says.

"I'm especially going to enjoy the part when the head of every bastard around Donovan goes splat at the same time."

"If the Nemesis is at the battle," you say, "how do we get people into Kan-Abar?"

"You just came up with the solution," Auriel says. "Sneak in ahead of time and prepare a teleportation. You can take people with you through the mana pools, right?"

"...yes. That could work."

"The only thing is Sandalphon," Hemmelus says. "If we presume that the sigil requires the energy of the demon lords creating a pentaverate, then it's likely he'll try to stop you defeating the mages in Kan-Abar. But he can't be in two places at once. If he stays at Kan-Abar, he can't complete his plan. When he comes to the battlefield, he'll be vulnerable. So he'll probably leave some other safeguard in the city to protect the summoners, and possibly Nulis. The demon lords, too, will be chafing on their bonds. They'll be sure to make their own summoners a priority, though they'll be forced to split their efforts across two different paths."

"In any case, I'll be leading the battle," Fang says. "If you have anything that needs telling, tell me. I want to know all of my options. Adavan, tell that Hamil fellow that I want to coordinate his spirit mages with mine. The Nemesis and my commanders will need to be in constant communication so we can keep track of the battlefield."

"What do you think the strategy of the angels will be?" Melody asks.

But seriously, we should only deal with Dave if he shows up, and if he does maybe try cure, most likely not and if that doesn't work, well it's only fitting we Old Yeller his ass.

>We've only had like 3 encounters with him and none of them were portals.

haven't rolled enough 1's
>>
"That," he says, "is what I don't know. There's a number of ways in which they could split their forces, a number of ploys they could take to protect their interests in various locations. I'm sure Sandalphon will be around for the sigil, personally. We need to first lure the demon army out with an attack to favorable ground. From there, we take up position and set ourselves for minimum losses by avoiding any extended contact between our battle lines. Once the sigil appears, we activate the spell, have the Nemesis target and fire, and drop the spell. We immediately extract the knight. Once he's in-hand, we throw everything and the kitchen sink at them - with the goal of stalling them until our counterparts in Kan-Abar kill the summoners. It will become a battle of survival."

"Wait," you say. "Inside the sigil, and the time spell, will be Sandalphon - and four demon lords. Is the Nemesis's firepower enough to kill them?"

Auriel shakes her head. "I doubt it, but I just want to give them a headache. They might live, but they'll be blown backwards a few hundred yards."

Ila nods. "And then we Blink in and Blink out. In a manner of speaking."

Fang sighs. "Actually, this is just insane enough to work perfectly. The problem will be surviving the fact that Sandalphon will be rather angry with us after we break his toy."

"Are you sure?" you say. "We have quite a bit of firepower on our hands."

"And a lot of it will be concentrated in Kan-Abar," Fang says. "This is going to be quite a fight. But I'm confident we'll save your knight."

"Really? That's good to know."

"Oh, yes," he says. "I'm just not as confident we won't all get killed right afterward."

>Dreamwalk moves us through the nether though
The dream realm is a separate place, distinct from the nether.

>I am quite experienced in the area, as you must have imagined. But the flow of time in the dream world is distorted; a few minutes may turn into an hour. If that is acceptable, for the moment, then let us proceed.

>Dreams have long been a source of fascination for the humans. And for me, as well. Such strange places, ethereal planes under the control of their masters, existing in some not-world that defies the laws of physics.

>You stand on nothing. Around you is an endless black night, stretching in all directions. And scattered through the expanse are stars, points of twinkling light of all the colors of the rainbow. They hang in the air like motes of color, alone in a void.

The dream realm is some sort of parallel dimension in which sleepers are capable of constructing personal, temporary demiplanes.

Or at least that's how it looks.

After the meeting, everyone breaks up for their own conversations - though no one goes far. The second meeting won't be long.

You speak with Auriel concerning Charmeine and Raphael. She's glad to know you have a hostage - she thinks that will help quite a bit. She decides that you can approach them after the upcoming meeting along with Arcturis, who can give his own testimony.

After that, you decide to talk with Fang about integrating his fleet into the Nemesis. It will require giving him information about your airship...but if it increases your chances with Donovan, it's a necessary evil.

You hold the conversation with telepathy, and tell him that the Nemesis is large enough to act as a carrier for his ships, and it can integrate its own skysever-repelling magic into each individual jet.

<A fascinating prospect,> he says. <That would give us quite a trump card - especially when Sandalphon's navy turns on us. Which is something I fully expect as a possibility, by the way, once we back him into a corner.>

<That would be bad.>

<Yes, it would,> Fang says, <but then I'd finally have an excuse to kill him and get away with it. And in public, no less.>

<Glad to know you're thinking pragmatically.>

<I'd be happy to lend you my fleet, but I have an important question.>

<Yes?>

<I'll require you to return it after you're done with it,> he says. <I'll not have Haven co-opt Abigail's greatest heirloom. This integration process sounds rather permanent.>

What do you tell Fang?

>Despite what Auriel says, the Nemesis is my ship. I'll ensure that Abigail decides where it makes port.
>I can't promise anything right now.

We need it.

Besides the Nemesis won't actually be making "Port" it shall fly indefinately
>>
>>30772097
>Despite what Auriel says, the Nemesis is my ship. I'll ensure that Abigail decides where it makes port.
We could also just not integrate them. Only dock them in the Nemesis and use it as an invisible carrier. Not as powerful, but still good.

We have to integrate to get them to not die to the Sky Sever.
>>
>>30772180
We wouldn't be giving it to Archon.

It just has to come to Archons aid if it is in need of it in the future.

Which if we win, it shall never need aid again.
>>
>>30772097
<I'll be honest, I'm still working out the kinks in how it works. Maybe just using the Nemesis as a carrier would work?>
>>
>>30772159
They wouldn't have the anti-skysever magic from the Nemesis though.... that is unless we ask Melody to see if she can use the Staff of Winds to enchant them.

>>30772159

I think this is a good compromise that can avoid major political commitment right before a major conflict.

We'll go with that.

One update to confirm and that'll be it for this time.
>>
>>30772209
Nah
>>
>>30772199
Only if we're going to have them fly around non-stop. They can flit out of the Nemesis, hit something, and then fly back in and be fine so long as they keep the excursion time down to a minute or so.
>>
>>30772229
They would be practically usless considering that they can pretty much only go 20 sec out form the nemesis if the nemesis doesn't move.
>>
>>30772251
The functionality remains largely the same as their intended use as the Archon defense force, except they would be on the Nemesis instead of in Archon.
>>
>>30772251
Alternative idea: Convince Melody to try to use the Staff of Winds to shield the Archon Fighters from the skysever like Fang originally wanted.
>>
>>30772272
WABANGO DANGO!

Now we just need to have a nice little date to convince her of the idea.
>>
>>30772269
Their intended use includes the staff of winds. which we promised him.
>>
>>30772279
>>30772272
why not both?

>littlemexicangirl.wmv
>>
<I don't have to permanently integrate them to dock them,> you say. <It's a carrier ship - this is what it's build for. It's shielded against he skysever, so they should be able to hitch a ride.>

Fang frowns. <But without the additional magic, they'll only be able to leave fly independently for a few minutes at a time. Enough to launch a salvo, double back, dock again...and I doubt that we could use all of them at once and have them all docking and un-docking from a moving airship in the middle of the battle. Still. A little extra is better than nothing. They're already prepared in case of a preemptive strike on Archon. Let me know when you plan on flying it there.>

<Do you really think Archon might be attacked?>

<I plan for the worst.>

You think about the situation as he moves off. If Melody used the staff of winds to shield his fleet, like he'd originally envisioned, you'd have a huge amount of extra firepower. But then, you'd need some sort of explanation as to how you found the staff...

Suddenly, the date you have coming up is of vital importance.

You were sort of looking forward to spending time with Abby. Relaxing, for just a moment. Trying to get all this out of your head.

No rest for the weary.

Dammit.

Short version bc i wont have wifi for long-

China built carrier and said they were gping to use it how we use ours (cool says usa) what they ACTUALLY meant was that they were going to take the ROE from us- and park the carrier off the coast of some disputed islands to use these ROEs (any aircraft within X must give over command and flight planning to em) this means that so long as the carrier was nearby the island IT not the airport would control the skies of the island, a psuedo political blockade if you will.... 1of?
>>
>>30772915
sounds like china.
>>
>>30772915
So anyway, thats enough of an excuse for the strike group to go "no-balls" china to call their bluff and put a stop to their stupid idea.... And gather intel n shit..... Soooooooooo strike group vs 1 carrier and like 3 jiangwei (i think, either way they were scared shitless)and we end up chasing them around for a few days well within their "kill you cuz your to close" line. Well after all the intel had been gathered and wev officially proved to the world that china doesnt have the balls, the strike group leaves to go home. But cowpens... Cowpens was left as a guard since its not part of 7th fleet-- about a day later with the chinese still running from what they thought was the strike group (lol nope just one shitty cruiser this time) they finally realize most of the group has left- so they decide to slander the USA by causing an incident 2of 3
>>
What happened was cowpens was just cruising around, still trying to keep the carrier nearby, when ALL OF A SUDDEN all the other chinese ships 180'ed and went full speed ahead- itstant chaos onboard - within minutes there were 2 ships, one of which only 500yds away (not a fucking lot considering the ships pretty big) and the other tried to cut us off- well lol, we are wayyyyyy more manueverable so we just stopped, reversed while turning and gunned it- then proceeded to embarass them by sprinting straight toward the carrier- and they cpuldnt catch us lol AND it was undefended- whole thing took like 15mins before they tapped out and stopped chasing (carriers are retardedly fast so theres no fucking way we wpuld have caught it, but tactically we seperated it from its protection and pushed it out of the area)

Thats the basics i guess.... Any other Q?
