"And point five: Because you're not really indispensable and I can always get rid of you and replace you with someone that isn't about to make a huge fucking mistake right now." You say to the goddamn giant mountain of a shark-beastman who is about to try and chop your head off with a cleaver that looks large enough to be used as an impromptu surfboard.

Yagate's men are standing back, utterly terrified by your exchange. The other patrons of the seedy whorehouse you've found yourself, not being so bold, have long vacated the establishment.

Well, so much for recruiting pirates to join your cause.

>Who are we?
Maka, an exiled noble recently Exalted as a Zenith-caste Solar. She's in the western city of Tianna as a guest of queen Amata (DB), an old friend. Abyssals are targeting the city for conquest, Lintha pirates have infiltrated it with spies and agents, and half the island is controlled by paranoid Lunars. Fun times.
You're trying to recruit some pirates to your cause. You already scored one: Rubel Sareni, captain of the Bloodshark. Others... don't seem to be as anxious to serve you. Besides, you're wondering if this little matter of "I don't have food to feed them with or money to pay them with or a plan for them to follow" might be a problem...

>Solar? Zenith? I don't know Exalted...
This quest is as newbie-friendly as possible, and I want it to work as a newbie's intro to Exalted. If you have ANY question, ask in thread. For the setting, google "1d4chan exalted".

>Archive?
http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive.html?tags=zenith

>System?
Dicepool-like system. When performing an action, everyone rolls 1d10 when posting. the first X rolls are considered, where X is equal to attribute + ability. Yes, this means that the more people are posting, the stronger Maka is, up to a limit of her attribute + ability.

>XP?
Attributes cost [current score x5] xp. Abilities cost [current score x3] xp, except Zenith costing [(current score x3) -1]. Charms cost 10 xp, except for Zenith-based charms (related to charisma and physical/mental fortitude) which cost 8 xp. At the end of every "session" (thread) you will be presented with a list of possible acquisitions.

So regarding pirates, they dont seem to have that much supernatural powr meaning they are rather vulnerable to wyld bullshit, aside from perhaps a fe godblooded captains. are we going to use a asembled fleet to try and split our allied forcs and go for a pincer movement, one from the shores and one from inland?

Considering Tia suggested it and since she ought to be a good and experienced warrior they should have some value in campaign , right?

[Iron Kettle Body. Essence 1/5]

As Yagate brings down his blade against your head, you bring your fist up, smashing it into his massive cleaver.

[1 damage. 4/5 HP]

Pain explodes from your fingers as a spray of blood and steel splinters erupts into your field of view.

A shard from the beastman's blade has sunken into your hand by a centimeter or so, between the second and third finger. The rest of the weapon has exploded into shards, leaving just a piece of it still sticking out of the handle.

You shiver from the shock, as blood splatters everywhere and your hand goes numb with pain. You try and grasp the edge of the table to keep yourself from losing your balance.

"Huh. Whore's tough." You hear him growl, looking at the stump of his blade. The right side of his face is full of metal shards embedded in it, some deeply, and he's losing blood, but he doesn't seem to realize it, or maybe he just doesn't feel pain: he brings what's left of his weapon up, aiming at giving you a second blow, basically a stab with a sharp, jagged, broken shard of metal. His eyes are bloodshot, and he seems to have gone completely crazy with bloodlust.

Phys + Dawn: 9 8 9 5 2 = 3 successes

You duck below the second blow, trying to ignore the pain in your hand, and the sharp bit of steel flies over your head, cutting the air with a horrifying noise.

Just as Yagate prepares to slice again, you curl up like a coiled snake, and slam your unwounded hand, balled up in a fist, straight on his chin in a lightning-fast hook.

You're fairly sure you could have battered down a brick wall with it, and you did see a couple of jagged, triangular teeth flying, but Yagate just stumbles a bit, off-balance, before regaining his footing.

He grins a bloody smile at you, his impressive files of fangs missing a few bits here and there, and in response lunges at you, tossing the broken sword aside, now clearly just intent on biting your arms off.

Instead, he just impales himself on Tia's long, slender Moonsilver Daiklave, as she swoops down in vulture form between you and him, and re-transforms to human as she lands, blade point-first into the beastman.

The sword has run him all the way through near the stomach, to the side of the body, and dark blood immediately bubbles up and drips from the wound.

The pirate loses his momentum, and as your Lunar Mate twists the blade in his wound, stumbles and falls, and gets literally nailed to the ground as the tip of the blade is thrusted through the wooden boards of the floor with a wet *thud* sound.

"No one hurts my wife and lives." She states. "But I'll leave her the honor. She did make you a promise after all."

"...You..." The shark-man drools blood from his mouth as he talks. "...You have no idea what you're doing... my father is one of the Three Rivers, the Anathema who rule northern Tianna island... He'll avenge you..."

Tia gives you a puzzled look. She's clearly as surprised as you are from his statement.

>Interrogate him (his father)

>Oh well we are about to be without essence at the captain council we want to force.
There is no 'captain council.' This bar scene was the closest we found to one. This isn't Nassau and these pirates hate each other even more than they hate everyone else.

I hadn't intended to kill him, we need to find a way to stabilize him first.

I was thinking that we could put him away behind bars until we get the Husband Seducing Demon Dance, perhaps until after we get the bureaucracy charm, and turn him into an ally. That way we would not even have to interrogate him, he would just tell as all he needed to know on his own.

Also, this might potentially explain his Lintha connection. His father is not really one of the Three Rivers, instead the Lintha has brainwashed him into thinking they were. Poor guy.

>>30754126
Calling his bluff. He's trying to use his father's name as protection so we claim to be a peer of his father (which we sort of are), one that can punish or kill him without much ore than a reprimand. Basically, I'm letting him know that we might concede to the whole "don't kill me or else!" begging/argument, but it's more that we want to watch his dad punish him than us showing mercy.
>>
>>30754138
>I hadn't intended to kill him, we need to find a way to stabilize him first.
We're incompetent at Medicine and will lose enormous face if we stabilize him after speaking up those big threats.

>I was thinking that we could put him away behind bars until we get the Husband Seducing Demon Dance, perhaps until after we get the bureaucracy charm, and turn him into an ally. That way we would not even have to interrogate him, he would just tell as all he needed to know on his own.
Put him behind bars where? And why would we ever want this quick-triggered fool as an ally?

We are not incompetent at medicine at all, but if you are worried about saving face we should make him submit to us first. Give him his last chance, how about that?

No, it secures us as someone to be respected and feared. It shows you can't disrespect us, that we WILL kill you if we promise it, and that attacking us is a fool's game.

If we save his life - especially without making him submit and beg before us - we will lose any chance of being actually respected by these pirates.

>We did not vow a blood feud against him and we are divinely charismatic.
We vowed that we would fuck him to death if he didn't cool his shit.

He proceeded to try to murder us and mangled our hand in the process.

So yeah, if we let him live, we're not only going to be pussying out, we're going to LOOK like we're pussying out - which is, frankly, far more important - in front of these criminals and murderers we had been trying to recruit.

The ONLY way I can see this working out in our favor is if we made him beg to live, then openly and cruelly declare that we own him now.

That depends on our rolls. You might also want to reread EF's last quest post from last thread, the one where we basically goaded him into this fight. It reads like we pretty much want to make an example of killing him in front of his crew, so I'm going to need you to find a really elegant way to walk that back if you want to convince me not killing his is the way to go.
>>

"Zaan?" You ask him. "Your father is Zaan?"

"Might as well be. He has a lot of kids, but I don't know all of them." Tia says with a shrug.

"He... HE IS!" Yagate growls. "And he'll have your head on a silver platter unless you let me go right now!"

"Do you think it's likely this punk might be telling the truth?" You wonder, pulling the shard of steel from your hand. The pain becomes more intense, as does the bleeding, but you clench your teeth and focus. The blood loss slowly subsides, thought the pain doesn't, not right away at least.

"Might be." She doesn't seem to worry about it. "I doubt Zaan cares much about this idiot. He leaves most of his kids to fend for themselves.

As you chatter pleasantly with Tia, you see Yagate's face growing increasingly distressed as he realizes that you both know Zaan already.

Tia turns to him. "Oh, by the way, I'm one of the Three Rivers." She mentions, with a vicious, saw-toothed grin. His eyes grow to the size of dinner plates as she wrenches her daiklave from out of his body. He screams.

"Tell me about your father." You ask him, unfazed. He stammers and hesitates, but says nothing. "...What about the Lintha?" You add, but he shakes his head. "I... I don't... have anything to do with them."

You're probably not right. The Noble, especially, will have plenty of swank shit that - because it's properly Shaped for Creation - will actually be permanent. Selling whatever weapons the Raksha Nobles have alone should pay for these men for years - maybe even pay for a full refit of their ships.

I have ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA why we're recruiting mortal pirates right now instead of trying to secure additional alliances with the island's gods/spirits using Dancing Smoke's alliance with us as leverage.

No, yesterday was day one, today is day two. We need to spend tomorrow making sure we get back to Tianna, because the morning of the day after that is the start of the assault. We're going to have to travel all day tomorrow just to get back to Tianna in time, considering how long it took us to cross the island on Tia.

We've pissed away two whole days trying to get a couple ships of mundane pirates to throw against the Raksha instead of recruiting actually-capable gods using our Sun-granted Zenith powers and an existing alliance with the most powerful goddess on the island as leverage.

We are literally just powerwanking over some cannon fodder mortals right now.

You raise your eyes to meet the terrified gaze of his crew. "You can have your captain back for now. Get a medic. Have him bandaged. I still have business with him."

Everyone, EVERYONE, nods nervously and forcefully in your direction.

"He stays here, of course." Tia points out. "Don't even THINK of running away." She spins the blade, cleaning it from his blood by spraying it on the ground.

The crew slowly tries their best to patch up the wounds and drag the enormous beastman aside.

You sigh, looking at your mangled hand and the blood everywhere. Diplomacy with pirates sure is rough.

Tia walks up to you. "...I'm going to kill him." She informs you.

"Nor now." You try and calm her down. "He still might be useful."

"Do you really think he will join you after what happened? He's a mad dog that needs to be put down. You can't trust him. I don't trust him. Didn't you say it yourself, that you can replace him?"

"...I was just trying to intimidate him. Some trash talk." Your hand REALLY hurts. "Unfortunately, I DO need experienced captains if I want to matter in the West."

"I'll help you find some that aren't bloody maniacs." She says. With her wedding dress covered in blood like she is now, she's the one who looks more like a bloody maniac.

Just on the off-chance that Zaan actually gives a shit about him, we can't afford to kill him until an alliance is secure.

Here's what we need to do, people. We need to sail out into the ocean and get some kind of spirit or spirits out there to help us. If we can convince a weather/wave god to help us hammer/drown the Raksha with lightning, wind, and briny water, that would be of HUGE help. It would also give us an actual reason to have recruited a pirate crew - we need a ship to take us out to sea to do this after all, right?

So, what do you guys say? Cut our losses instead of spending tons of time trying to get one or two extra pirate ships? Try to recruit some more gods out at sea?

I think that's the best course of action.

It's a risk, but I think it's a better use of our time than trying to recruit more pirates.

No, we won't. This is a tiny port village that a small handful of pirate ships visit, all of whom hate each other. There's no 'fleet' to be had, let alone had by us.

No, those are the storm/weather goddesses. And they're present throughout the entire West. The best we can hope for with them is that they just ignore us instead of trying to Jealous Girlfriend us to the bottom of the sea.

>I do not know much about gods in Exalted so I tend to mentally shove that option aside.
Gods are basically animistic spirits, like the Kami of Shinto, the spirits of North American Indians, and the Celestial Bureaucracy of Chinese Folk Religion.

Everything has a god. Some of those gods - like the god of a specific sea shell, for example - are so tiny and insignificant they don't even have thoughts and self-awareness. Others are so big and badass they're as remote and non-responsive as those of most fantasy settings - the Unconquered Sun, for example.

Most, however, are in between. They're gods of specific mountains or rivers. Gods of a city. Storm gods working for the Weather Bureau in Heaven. And so forth.

Tianna already has a strong alliance with their City God - which is incredibly useful, powerful, and important for a city to have. We made a nascent alliance with Dancing Smoke - that's another great one, since she's the goddess of the main volcanic mountain on the island.

As a Zenith, we're automatically a high priest of the Sun, who is the boss of all the other gods. That makes us extremely well-equipped to issue official prayers, negotiate directly, and manage cults and festivals of godly allies. The only other caste that even comes close is Eclipse Caste, and that's because they have diplomatic immunity in the spiritual realms and can magically seal any promise or oath.

As luck would have it, we currently have an Eclipse helping our Zenith.

To additionally clarify, in most other settings, Exalted's 'gods' would just be called 'spirits.' Aside from the head bosses of Heaven, the gods of Exalted are not even on the level of the Greek Pantheon. They're barely on the level of most exalts.

For example, the world's dominant organized religion is the Immaculate Faith. What they do is officially regulate who gets worshipped on what day to make sure gods have a regular salary without starving to death. When a god steps out of line, they send a martial arts monk to kick their ass until they get back to work.

The dominant faith in Creation is literally a negotiating union for managing godly labor agreements.

That should put some things in perspective.
>>
>As luck would have it we currently have an eclipse helping our zenith.
Where is he then? I thought we let him run to his thing on Coral?

A trap for them when they come to sink tianna and our naval buildup leaving their local base open for invasiion and raids
>>
>>30755173

Yeah, but let's first talk with the other captain in port if he is still there. And get Mikahil to bind an oath between us and Yagate so we can put this behind us for the time being. When the Raksha thing is done with we can simply HSDD him into obeying us for our inevitable assault on the Lintha.
>>
Rolled 2

>>30755209
Dealing with gods is an extremely powerful choice for a Zenith/Eclipse. Specifically, a Zenith's best course of action - generally speaking - is to secure alliances with gods by offering them roles in an organized religion with the Zenith as a high priest (gods love Zeniths organizing prayer because they're so damn good at it). Zeniths are also at their best when organizing their own personal cult.

So, for example, you know that festival we're going to throw for Dancing Smoke? We're going to have a Social + Zenith + Majestic Radiant Presence of 10 for that particular oiled-up nude-dancing prayer to her. That's like sending someone a bottle of good wine, a suitcase full of unmarked bills, and a big kiss on the cheek for good measure, not the mention the ego-inflation.

We've also said she might have some role to play in our home city which means, to her, that we might be scoring her an official and permanent place of worship and power tied directly to the cult of a fucking God-queen of the sun.

Aside from that, all gods are essence-users with useful charms. Not always useful for battle, sure, but even a field god can give your homeland good crops.

So, yeah. We should be getting godly allies and cronies. Mortals too, of course - we still need cannon fodder, a cult, subjects to benevolently protect, and so forth. But as far as powerful allies and profitable alliances, gods are the way to go.

"Because, for once, I just said I need him alive. I can't just go back on that." You explain.

"Also... As crazy as he is, I need him. He can captain a ship, and he has the loyalty of his crew. Also... he's a god-blooded. He's going to be useful against the Fae."

"Not if he stabs your back while you're busy against them." She points out. "Besides, I don't think he's going to heal fast enough to be useful against the Fae."

"He could be useful in the long-term?" You wonder. "...Nah." You answer yourself. "He's clearly a bloodthirsty pirate. I don't think He can be reformed into something less... harmful to society."

"I'm sure there are better pirates around here." She grins, and nods to herself like she just had an idea. She puts a hand on your shoulder. "...Leave him to me. I'll handle him. You focus on the other pirates. Get some smart ones. I'll handle the stupid ones."

Sure there's nothing wrong with that, but there's no particular sign that she was personally very interested in being the husband - as far as I remember she was more than eager to give Maka the title for example. Then she pulls back, hesitates, and- "Uh, Tia."

"Right, right. Business first." She turns and leaves, jumping out of the (closed) window of the establishment.

You take a deep breath. Time to get things done on your part, too.

You sit down to a moment and re-evaluate your situation. Bit by bit, around you, the whorehouse comes back to normal life as the patrons and employees return after the panic.

Everyone now gives you a wide berth, which doesn't contribute to a relaxing atmosphere, but gives you time to think.

You were mostly working for the idea of gathering followers for long-term plans. That's why pirates and seamen.

But there are two problems with this approach, as Mikahil tried to point out. The first is that, well, you don't really have anything to offer to them. You don't have vast riches or... any logical reason they should follow you except for promises, or threats, or your rather revealing attire. And in the long-term, people need to eat and drink and sleep and have comforts and a place to call home. You can't provide that right now. You wonder how you'll do that to
Sareni's crew as well. You'll have to figure out something.

The second problem is that the day after tomorrow you're going to attack a Fair Folk nation and you're not sure how much pirates can help with that. Maybe, until this problem has been taken care of, you should focus on gaining supernatural allies.

And since nothing of this place makes you think there might be some Exalted around (and you guess by now they'd have revealed themselves: you DID cause quite some commotion), you're probably going to have more success in working with the local spirits.
>>
(Mental + Twilight = 2 5 9 1 = 1 success)

You have to admit you're not sure how to proceed. You consider your options:

>Try and contact a local sea god (or a nature god)
>Try and contact a local god of sailing (or a humanity god)
>Try and contact a court of water elementals
>Try and contact the souls of the dead at sea
>Try and contact someone else (who?)

So why do the people in the Exalted setting seem to hate the Exalted themselves? As I understand it they should be looking up to them like divine acolytes or something, unless I'm mistaken about how religion works in the setting.

So do others get a free pass?

Same reason people are scared of superpowered people in some superheroes settings. They're so powerful that normal people can feel threatened and defenseless when in their presence. Imagine being the only one who has a modern-day tank in a medieval setting.
>>
>>30755765
No-one really knows much about the others.

Abyssals are new, Sidereals make a point of not being found out in the first place, and Infernals are the boogeymen in the closets.
>>
Rolled 3

>>30755719
They used to.

Back in the day, Solars were the god-kings of Creation (after killing the fuck out of the Titans who came before the gods and created the world). The Lunars were their lovers and right-hand dudes, and the Dragon-blooded were their generals and cronies.

But the Solars went mad with power - as people are prone to do - so the Dragon-blooded murdered the shit out of them, chased the Lunars into the Wyld, and started a religion that (despite being largely beneficial and useful) said that Solar/Lunar exalts were demons who stole magic from the Sun/Moon and each people's souls to use their bodies at meat puppets. That's why people tend to call us 'anathema.'

That's why Amata was scared and trying to make sure we were still Maka, for example.

>>30755765
Nobody knows Sidereals exist and the Dragon-blooded were the ones who started the lie in the first place. Abyssals and Infernals are just corrupted Solars and, as such, are covered by all of those same rules. Not that most people should even know Abyssals and Infernals exist - Solars just started coming back a few years ago.

A cult also helps as a bargaining chip with gods. 'I'll have a massive celebration for you led by myself personally to let you reap the full benefits of my cult' is a big fucking deal.

Hell, if we beat back the fae and secure an alliance between the Three Rivers and Tianna leading a small army of water elementals and the island's biggest goddess, we might even get that cult.

We've got to earn it before we can cultivate it, though.

No, that was a leading question. The QM was saying 'ships won't stop at a recently-built port without any infrastructure and nothing to offer that can't be offered by Tianna, a huge, well-developed city just a few hours away.'

An important part of that is that Tianna is just a few hours away. That location isn't in a convenient place for anything, and we don't have any advantages to personally offer for the purposes of business administration or infrastructure construction.
>>
>>30756139
We offer them a new market, the Three River tribes which wouldn't be accessible otherwise. There's plenty of use for a city with less regulation than Tianna.
>>
Rolled 10

>>30756163
Not that close to Tianna nor with a TOTAL LACK OF INFRASTRUCTURE. You're pointing at a piece of wilderness just a couple hours from a major port city and saying 'Well, shit, this is a great place for a port city to instantly be! That's totally a niche that isn't filled yet!'
>>
>>30756163
You do realize that we are in the process of opening up the three rivers tribe to Tianna? Now, if the answer was "We found a Jade/gold/iron deposit and want to ship it out" then you might have a point, though it wouldn't be a quarter the size of Tianna.

(Social + Zenith = 4 3 4 7 1 6 6 = 1 success)

You have to admit you're really a bit out of your depth when it comes to gods and spirits. You know some basic stuff, but there's much that's a complete riddle to you.

But you think you can handle some water spirits. There should be some in any large body of water, right? You don't know anything about the spirit of the island, Amata asked you to leave the city god alone (and you're far from the city anyway), and you doubt this village has any deity of note.

And what you heard about sea gods is mostly colored by your perception of Storm Mothers, and you're not sure you want to tangle with them. Yet.

You head out of the whorehouse and into the street. It's about noon, and the midday sun is scalding hot. Most of the village's inhabitants are probably indoor, because the roads are empty.

You walk up to the docks, wondering how you could try and contact a local court of water spirits.

Standing on the edge of the water for a few minutes, you clear your mind and breathe slowly and deeply. It's probably best to not think too much about it, and act by instinct. You remove your tabard, leave it on the wooden walkway of the pier, and dive underwater.

You take a long swim, entirely underwater, leaving the island behind you and letting your castemark glow and light the dark bottom of the sea.

You surface, finding yourself a few kilometers offshore, in the middle of the sea, dragged by the currents perhaps. if there are elementals here, they don't seem interested in talking to you. You'll probably have to use your powers to get them to come out of the sea.

You decide to entice and attract these elementals, suffusing your body with glowing Essence and letting your castemark glow. You dive deep underwater, where the light of the midday sun barely manages to reach and the lights and shadows of the surface waves play tricks on your bronzed skin.

You feel underwater flows of water touching you, caressing you in response. They dance with you, flowing with your movements, invisible but felt as subtle shifts in pressure. Underwater rivers of colder and hotter water brush all over you, playing with your hair waving in the ocean after your movements. It feels like you're being gently caressed and accompanied by countless, delicate hands all over your body. A horde of gentle lovers in silken gloves.

The current kisses you, and air is exchanged into your mouth, bringing relief to your burning lungs. They want you to stay underwater. They want more, and you have no problem to give it to them.

Slowly, bit by bit, your dance drifts to the bottom, where you hit a point where your senses are so overwhelmed by the sensations all over your body that you have trouble understanding if you're still underwater or in open air. The ocean feels welcoming now, like it's your natural element. Or, more likely, like the ocean itself, satisfied by your performance, is making your stay down here comfortable.

You are gently made to sit on a seaweed-covered rock on the sandy bottom of the sea. The currents take shape and form around you, forming a crowd. Figures of sleek, young men and women, made from colorful flows of water under water, vast poofy masses of ever-flowing hair losing themselves into the sea.

Resting at night lets us regen five points for eight ours, which comes to one point for two hours of rest. Given these rolls we should have the elementals well under hands after which spending two or even four hours to rest would be much recommended just so we can defend ourselves is something jumps out. Without motes we are as strong as a mortal. After that we can decide what to do.

On one side, they aren't asking for much. On the other, it's true that mking this decision unilaterally might upset some people. Nothing terrible. Right? Probably.

On the other side, while having a day-long sex marathon with a bunch of sea spirits isn't bad by any stretch of imagination, sea spirits and elementals are near the top of the "clingy jealous possessive spirits that might decide they never want you to leave their side" ranking in Exalted. (if you're wondering: Maka knows this, it's common knowledge in the west. Sirens luring fishermen out at sea and then drowning them so they can keep them as lovers forever and that stuff.)

Of course, Maka is Exalted so that changes things. Right? Probably.

>>30758257
Things can always go wrong at any time, but "fucking your way to godhood" is definitely something that happens extremely often even in canon. (and, from a combinations of "how her stats are" and "how /tg/ decided to play her", seems like pillow arts are one of Maka's strong points)
>>
>>30758520
>Of course, Maka is Exalted so that changes things. Right? Probably.
Seeing Tia in combat against the fae probably changes that

I mean, would you be suicidal enough to keep Maka from Tia?

daylong sex match is still a go, but we're probably bringing Tia, and we definitely should offer that yearly festival thing. Tell them that we will do what we can when it comes to the land, but that others probably also have claim to it and we will mediate between all parties to try and find a good compromise

"I cannot promise you what is not mine, and there are others involved in this struggle. I cannot offer you land." You reply. "I can only give you what I do own, So I shall give you myself, for one day and one night, as you wish. For greater rewards, you will have to find consensus with the Three Rivers as well. Not to mention..." You hint with a grin, "...what the battle is not yet won."

"...Indeed." After a bit of hesitation the spirit collective replies, probably too distracted to think of a counterargument. "We shall satisfy yourself with ownership of your body for one full day and night, then." Then, as if an afterthought: "...Will you be staying with us some more?"

The rays of the sun are slowly getting dimmer in surface, you realize. "...Afraid not, spirits. I have other matters that require my attention.

You can sense the displeasure, and parts of the current flowing on you actually getting a bit grabby, but you shrug off their grasp ad you break free, floating towards the surface. "We will meet again in two days on the shores of Azure Lake." You tell them.

You bob back to surface. It's afternoon, and the sun is rapidly racing towards the sea. You rapidly swim back to shore.

There are a lot more people around the docks, and you see that many are looking out to sea, specifically for you it would seem, as many, spotting your head, point at you and call others.
It seems a barely-clothed woman brutally wounding one of the island's most feared captain while making outrageous claims, then stripping down to nothing and leaping into the sea apparently vanishing to its depths, then surfacing several hours later, draws a lot of attention. Who knew?

>Wait for the situation to calm down a bit and the crowd to disperse before returning to shore.
>Hide, return to shore from another direction more discreetly.
>Swim up to the pier, ask someone to toss you your tabard.
>Swim up to the pier and hoist yourself up, not caring one bit.

You know that charm does not give immunity to attacks, only the environment(,which makes zero logical sense) right? Just where do you want to go with it?

>>30758672

About Heaven Thunder Hammer, would having the ability to knockback our enemies translate into extra damage by knocking them into walls or give us the ability to hit them extra times while they are in the air like in fighting games?
Would it act as a second blow that does not do damage on its own, but instead gives us opportunity to wreck things with our enemies? If so then that would be awesome.

Even thought the power seems like flavor text, the potential free extra damage should be well worth the investment depending on the answer.

It's for if the spirits suspend their protection in order to let us die. Anything after that would be an attach protected against by Iron Kettle Body. Without that, we start drowning/being crushed by natural pressure the second they stop protecting us. With it, they have to actually actively try to hurt/fight us, which we're actually pretty well-equipped to survive.

It would grant extra damage if you knock people into very solid things, but most of its usefulness if as a utility. knock people into other people, knock people down buildings, knock people down cliffs, knock people off boats or into a lava pit, that sort of stuff.

Basically, it gives you a lot more control over where a fight is actually taking place. Don't think of it as a damage-adder.

Against Extras, it also means you can Team Rocket them if you want to.
>>
>>30759123

Right now they are pretty friendly towards us and we do not have even a single reason to fear them. Maybe if we were heading somewhere really dangerous in the future, but not for these guys.

Exaltedfag said that water/ocean spirits/elementals are notorious for being possessive, clingy, psycho lovers - especially for drowning lovers who they feel are trying to leave them. So, we should definitely be concerned about the possibility that, after hanging with them for 24 hours, they'll release us from their custody... On the bottom of the ocean with no air.

As a fringe benefit, it will also be useful for things like swimming in lava and never getting a sun burn, but the most pressing reason is because we don't want these water elementals to go 'psycho girlfriend' and try to drown us.

>>
Rolled 4

>>30759250
Yeah, if we could build some kind of refinery-manse in Dancing Smoke's caldera (dohoho) we could get our hands on some sweet Orichalcum artifacts.

Unfortunately, Mind + Twilight is literally our biggest weakness, so that's never going to happen unless, say, Irene somehow end up with free time someday.

I know it's in the /tg/ mindset to approach problems with invention, engineering, and infrastructure, but this character just plain can't.
>>
>>30759208
>So, we should definitely be concerned about the possibility that, after hanging with them for 24 hours, they'll release us from their custody... On the bottom of the ocean with no air.
Do we have enough XP to buy that "survive anywhere" Charm?

If nothing else, we know Tia will fight through anything to get us back if someone's trying to take us away from her.
>>
>>30759295
we can't even pay the crew of a single ship, and you think we could afford shitloads of gold, specially made mirrors and a bunch of mortal minions to run it?
>>
>>30759208

But in that case, the problem is not really that we are on the bottom of the ocean, the problem is that we are surrounded by countless number of hostile water elementals. If they turn hostile they will kill us either way.
>>
Rolled 3

>>30759316
It will cost us 8 experience points. We should have enough by the end of next session.

That said, I don't think we should actually pick it up until we're going through with the 'get gangbanged for 24 hours by the ocean.' We can hold off for now and pick it up as needed.
>>
>>30759341
It will also be useful for fucking the volcano god in her vulcano
>>
>>30759341
I don't know, swamps can have a lot of natural hazards. Wild warped swamps moreso.
>>
>>30759341
I think it'll be good anyway. We can take naps in lava or at the bottom of the ocean when we need to hide from the Realm, plus underwater lovin with Tia.
>>
>>30759316

Given that we've brokered an alliance with water elementals and defeated the sharkman (whom Tia might turn into a loli) it might be enough to earn us 4XP for this session. But we should probably get us something to help in the fight with Fae. Maybe level up Dawn which will help us get Tiger Warrior charm or save up for the bureaucracy charm.

>>
Rolled 4

>>30759331
Not necessarily. If they don't have damage-boosting charms - which they probably don't because they're just regular elementals - the best they can really do is try to pull us to the bottom. And we're strong as fuck and an amazing grappler.

Our biggest concern, ultimately, is the fact that at literally any time the elementals could, if they got offended, simply stop holding back the pressure and stop bringing us air. If they did that as we are now, we would just be completely fucked. If we picked up the charm that lets us survive any environment, we could at least fight our way to the surface, which is something we're significantly more likely to survive.

>>30759354
Also true. With this charm we could survive a cave-in, hold our breath forever, swim in magma, breathe naturally-poisonous pollen, survive lightning strikes, walk around in the frozen North completely nude, and so forth.

>>30759378
That's true. I'm not against picking it up now, I'm just specifically in favor of picking it up before we pay back these elementals.

>Does anybody know how strong the Raksha are?
Raksha Nobles tend to range anywhere from Dragon-blooded tier to Solar tier depending on whether or not they're in the Wyld (they're not) and fae mooks are just about on the same level as human mooks.

And without Solar Hero Style, we're still tossing around 5 dice.

But we would, of course, be using Solar Hero Style, Iron Kettle Body, and possibly the occasional Ten Ox Meditation strike if we were trying to escape from a jealous ocean.

The trick is keeping outselves from getting drowned/crushed as a result of being on the bottom of the ocean - we don't, currently, have a charm to protect us from that.
