Recent Events Summary:

Your enemies are still lacking a vital component of their plan, a component which may provide you with a window of opportunity to save Sir Flint. While Hemmelus's proposition of an ambush using the power of Chronomancy sounds feasible, it's also risky, and you decided to run the idea by your allies before coming to a decision.

You decided to consult with Hecate. She told you that Hemmelus's plan was possible with her powers, and she then assisted you on a Dream Walk. You were able to locate Donovan's dream, calm his nightmares, and tell him about the plan.

The morning after your chase, you discovered Yi Fang on his way to calling upon a fair lady, as he put it. You cloaked yourself and followed him, and he ended up at the Black Lady's room. That didn't surprise you - but what did is when he offered to take her hand in marriage as a means to unite their countries.

Melody evaded committment, but now you've somehow been roped into a double date with Abigail and the two leaders.

The four of you made your way to breakfast, and were joined by Auriel.

>Last time...

You take seats at the freshly set end of the table, just a short distance from the other two. Steward stares at Vaz Grak with a constant, green-eyed gaze. The warleader ignores him, merely tearing into a leg of ham like a dog on a bone. You all watch with a silent fascination.

Eventually, Grak catches Steward's gaze. "Construct? What is it?"

"I am observing the process of organic consumption."

"You watching me eat?"

"Correct."

"Why?"

"For our records. The process of tearing apart natural materials and digesting it into useable components and energy has many potential applications. Orcs seem to be proficient at this task, though John is closest to perfect efficiency. More observations are required."

Grak shrugs, then goes back to nicking the fat off the bone with his teeth.

"Ah, the wonders of friendship," Fang muses.

"I hope that wasn't sarcasm, Archmage," Auriel says. She plops down next to you and starts spooning herself some sort of meat pudding.

"Perish the thought, dear Auriel."

<Auriel, Hecate was able to help me reach Donovan on a Dream Walk.>

Auriel fumbles her spoon. It clatters to the table. Pudding stains the cloth. "...is he alright?"

<He's doing fine. He's a little nervous, but he understands that Sandalphon can't move yet.>

"You know," Fang says, "it's impolite to hold a conversation half-heard."

"We'll talk later...John," Auriel says. "Wouldn't want to bother the Archmage, would we?"

"Indeed you wouldn't."

"I came here to eat, not to be berated." Auriel picks up her spoon. "Keep to yours, Archmage, and I'll keep to mine."

"Not an drop of levity in your desert of solemnity," Fang says. "If angels didn't all take themselves so seriously, we wouldn't be in the midst of these sorts of problems, would we?"

"If we didn't have to tiptoe around madmen that could go off at any moment, I suspect we might stop to smell the roses more often."

"You know, Highest," Fang says. "Excuse me, former Highest. I think - "

"I think," Auriel snaps, "that I'm not in the mood for it, Fang!"

"Archamge," Melody says, "perhaps, in this instance, you should shut up."

Fang folds he hands. He tilts his head slightly, thinking. "Perhaps I should."

It's about as close to an apology as Auriel is going to get. She harumphs, and focuses on her food. Breakfast proceeds quietly after that.

You've got a lot on your plate to take care of before the meeting with Sandalphon later today. Donovan's life is at stake. You see in Fang a reminder to try to take the bad with the good, to not let worry control your actions. But in Auriel, you find a hard and sharp reminder that Donovan's life is balanced on the edge of a knife. And she knows it.

What do you do?

There was also the knowledge that Arbiter would not cancel out the artifact, and it would somehow still add to her power, so there were people who wanted to give her the hand now and worry about Arbiter when the time comes.

SM, you better not have the Nemesis and Ragnarok both self-destruct when they dock.

But we would have faced a Demon lord, who would have called reinforcements. However, I doubt people are willing to retcon after everyone voted not to, and at this point, even though I did vote to retcon then, I wouldn't want to since the best time to do it has already passed.

Thats actually not true, SM said that we wouldn't have faced a demon lord if we had retconned. That was layer speculation.

How do you that the Lightport would have even led to the Avatar's cave in the first place?

>>30745140
If that's so, then we never would have been able to get to Donovan in the first place.

Ugh. It's the blatant railroading and no-win situations that get to me here. Why did SM even give us a choice to try saving Donovan in the first place if we were never going to succeed?
>>
>>30745144
It would still be the Ragnarock docked with the Nemesis though. We couldn't have had the Ragnarock before the battle.
It would be like accusing someone of using a specific gun to attack a stranger on the street when the gun belonged to the stranger in the first place.

We couldn't have attacked them with their ship with itself.
>>
>>30745211
>How do you that the Lightport would have even led to the Avatar's cave in the first place?
That's exactly why I'm debating the claim that any sort of retcon would have put him in the cave.

Alright, alright.

I'm still buttfrustrated too, but let's not detract from the quality of this thread as well.

Who wants to ask Steward about artifacting his actual processing servers? Could be a huge benefit to the war effrot.
>>
>>30745144
We'd be giving it weapons by merging it with the Ragnarok. Which we couldn't have possibly had access to when the Ragnarok was one of the ships that was ostensibly fired on by the Nemesis to begin with.

And the only way we wouldn't be able to prove without a doubt that it was the Ragnarok is if the two merged permanently somehow. Which, on top of being a really wacky thing to expect to happen, would also be tactically inferior to having the Ragnarok docked but able to release itself like an attached interceptor craft.
>>
>>30745229
Unless they merge. Because Erebus.
>>
>>30745144
"The ship was without arms. We'd kept it that way because it was essentially serving as the city of Haven.

I see now that that was a mistake . I would like to thank Steward for his assistance in modifying the Nemesis to better allow it to defend against aggressors.

It's amazing how quickly an airship can be modified when one is pressed by hostile angels."

I actually want to artifact his secret weapons for a few reasons
1. If Geb finds out we helped orchestrated his downfall and have now taken claim to his chosen's children, he might be mad
2.We'll have an extremely powerful weapon that is also mobile and if it can do a ton of damage now, image it after being artifacted

You decide to hold things in until after breakfast. When Auriel's finished eating, you politely ask if she'd join you in private.

You find a small study a few halls from the dining room. The fire isn't lit, so the room is slightly chill, but heat from the rest of the castle keeps it relatively comfortable. She turns to you and folds her arms. "You're sure he's alright?"

"...a little shaken, but he's ok." You tell her what happened, glossing over some of the grittier details of Donovan's dream, and include what Hemmelus has planned to stop Sandalphon's sigil and rescue the knight in one stroke.

"...so our plan relies on the fact that they won't see it coming. Who knows?"

"You, me, Hemmelus. Abigail. Melody."

Auriel's face grows stern at the last name, but she nods. "...alright. Adavan is on the Nemesis right now...scanning, as he put it. He's hunting for anyone out of place. I don't think he'll find anything, but we can't be too careful. No one knows about the plan except those who absolutely must know."

"I agree. I'm keeping this one locked up."

"...shit." She puts her hands on her head. "I'm fucking scared. I'm scared out of my mind."

"Don't be."

"...that's nice and all, Shadow, but..."

"Either I save him," you say, "or I die trying. Hemmelus's spell and Hecate's power will give us the opportunity we need. You agree with that plan?"

She nods. "What comes after is equally important. So we trap the sigil and Donovan in this bubble of slowed time - how do we attack it? Who goes inside? How do we extract him? It has to be well timed."

"If time is slow, we'll have more time to execute the plan."

She nods. "...alright. I'll be on board. Just...keep me in the loop."

"You're at the head of the loop. And, ah...one other thing."

You tell her about Fang and Melody.

"He WHAT?!"

"...uh, he proposed marriage."

>con't
>>
Auriel's look of shock fades. Her lips thin. She puts a finger on her chin. "Do you think he knows?"

"I think he's trying to confirm his suspicions."

"Elements preserve us," she says. "With Donovan in the crosshairs, I'm not going to rock the Archmage's boat, but he seems intent on rocking his own boat. Try to contain the fallout, if there is any. We need both those mages - Melody and Fang - levelheaded and at our backs. Every variable to increase our chances of success must be brought to bear, them included."

"...it sounds cold, when you put it like that."

"War is cold," she says. "More importantly, I love that man more than anything else in this fucking world, and I'll use what I've been given to get him back. No matter what."

"I'm at your service."

She nods, and then heaves a heavy sigh. "Light. This is like the sieges."

"What do you mean?"

"The worst part about war isn't the fighting," she says, "it's the waiting. The anticipation. The slow, inevitable buildup, the worries, the fears. Never being able to sleep. Never knowing when you might be attacked. Or worse, knowing exactly when you're going to be attacked, and waiting for it to happen. Waiting." She closes her eyes. "Waiting for Donovan to arrive on a silver platter. And we're going to snatch him from their jaws at the last moment. Hemmelus is bolder than I gave him credit for."

"I had similar thoughts."

Do you ask Auriel anything else before going to speak with Abigail?

"Taremtis said you needed to learn Spirit magic. And to be honest, if you learned some telepathy, we could be sure of a lot more privacy. Have you made any progress?"

"...no."

"Abigail could teach you a thing or two. Maybe even Adavan."

Auriel says nothing.

"You just told me that you'd put every variable to use," you say. "Well, so will I. Learn some damn spirit magic, because if it turns out that you not knowing how to flick a bit of orange light across a room kills Donovan, you don't ever forgive yourself."

"Alright already! You don't have to guilt me into it."

"Other variables come to mind," you say. "Raphael and Charmeine. Do you think we can win them over?"

"...maybe," she says. "I know Raphael has taken a liking to Joey. He's a good man, but he tends to keep to himself, cloistered in his office. Maybe the boy lured him out again, somewhat."

"...we'd have to use Joey against him."

"You said all the variables, Shadow," she says. "It isn't tasteful. If that makes you uncomfortable..."

"What about Charmeine?"

"She won't take my side, and she won't take Sandalphon's side," she says. "She'll try to have everyone get along. That's what she always does, that's what she'll do. She..." Auriel looks down. "She nursed me back to health, after I...after things happened, a while back. She taught me my first magic. She's like a mother to me. Sandalphon knows that. He brought her here to remind me what I'd left behind. Cajole me. But she hasn't left me behind."

"Do you think you can get her support?"

"...not unless we have clear evidence of what Sandalphon is doing," Auriel says. "We need a way to gather that evidence. Maybe Fang can help. He's the kind of man to do things like that."

"Maybe."

You find Abigail in the hall outside the dining room. She's standing, watching Melody leave. They must have been talking.

<Abby.>

<Shadow.> She turns. <You know...normally, I'd be surprised, but I sort of...felt you. Maybe it's because you gave me more of your power?>

<Hmm. Maybe. Well, that's good.>

<I'm glad.>

Your exchange is over in half a second. Telepathic conversation is always faster.

<So, did you want something in particular?>

You smile. <Yes. Although, maybe not.>

<I know what this is about,> she says. <You want things to eat.>

<...was it that obvious?>

<Mm-hmm,> she says. <A good w - um.> She stops.

<A good what?>

<They say that the quickest way to a man's heart is through his stomach, right?> she says. <I've been preparing a little surprise for you.>

<I like surprises.>

Abigail leans forward and kisses you on the cheek. "Surprise!"

"...I get the feeling that wasn't really it."

<Heh. You'll just have to wait and see.> The mirth in Abigail's eyes falls. <...Shadow...I'm worried about Sir Flint.>

<Well, if she's sure, I'm sure.> She nods. <I'll make sure I'm ready, too, Shadow. I've...messed up, sometimes, before. Not this time.>

<Can you do me a favor?>

<Anything,> she says.

<Help Auriel learn Spirit,> you say. <She's going to need it. Even if she can just speak to us like this, it would be a huge help.>

Abigail nods. <Right, the prophecy!> She punches her fist into her open palm. <You got it. Spirit lessons on the way.> She grins again. <I'll let you know when your surprise is ready, ok?>

<Another thing, Abigail...about the power I gave you.>

<I'm going to practice with it right now,> she says. <There's a training facility on the Nemesis, did you know that? A room with heavy magical shielding. By the way, I don't know if Auriel told you, but it's cloaked nearby, out over the flooded gardens.>

<Well, I can expand upon it,> you say. <I can feel where I can put the energy. I think I can give you and Ila another type of magic - some of mine, Shadow, Water, or Earth. I could give you my Spirit, too, but I think you're better than me in that, so...>

<Wow. Incredible! When do I get it?!> She worries at her dress with her fingers, pinching the cloth. <Well, let's see. I don't think I want water, which leaves Shadow and Earth. Your Shadow magic is really strong! But Earth is so useful...I think I'd be better with that, because I'm a summoner, you know? I could support you from range! And then, Ila can have Shadow, so she can strike as hard as she can when she gets that chance!>

<...that was sort of what I was thinking.>

<So, when?>

<Well, I need more energy, first.>

Abigail grins an evil grin that reminds you uncannily of her uncle. <I guess I'll have to shift my schedule around. Can't wait till you see your surprise...!>

<...I want it now.>

<Nope!> She wags her finger at you. <You'll wait patiently and you'll like it.>

It quickly became useless, because we ended almost all our fights faster than Shadefang would.

You take Abigail's hand. <Speaking of surprises...I've got something ready for you. It's about...the promise I made you.>

Abigail draws back slightly, but her grip on your fingers tightens. <...my hand?>

You nod. <Steward's finished the prosthetic.>

<Um...ok.> She firms up slightly and steps back toward you. <Let's go see him.>

-----
-----

You quickly trace Steward's location by his signature of Earth. He's not like any human in the castle.

He's standing on the roof of one of the towers lining the outer wall of the castle. You walk with Abigail up the stairs and out onto the open stone platform. He's poised near the crenelations, looking down on the packed buildings and peaked roofs of the castle town.

<Steward.>

<Shadow.>

<What're you up to?>

<Listening,> he says, <watching. Learning. I am also coordinating the final stages of the construction of a tunnel between Va'ad-temporary redesignation-City 001 and Haven. We are bringing in equipment to stabilize the machinery you placed over the Shadow mana pool in the fortress. It is effective, but we will streamline it. I did not think you would mind.>

<Not at all. Anything that helps Haven is welcome.>

<We noted the wreckage of the Noiralev near Haven,> he says. <Its Jump Drive is damaged that building a new one would be more resource efficient. We should be able to recreate its effect through observation and reverse engineering.>

<...in time for the battle?>

<No,> Steward says. <It will likely take a month or so. At the moment, resources are being diverted to more immediately relevant tasks.>

<I understand.>

Steward nods without turning. <I suspect you are here for the prosthetic. I predicted you would seek me out shortly. I have it in my possession.> Part of Steward's casing flicks open. He reaches inside and draws out the hand.

>con't
>>
It looks like a gauntlet - an articulated adamantium glove. An extended loop of leather-backed adamant seems designed to secure itself around Abigail's intact elbow. You feel it glowing with earth. <...did you enchant it?>

<It should be conducive to magical input from the wearer,> Steward says. <While you said you had your own method of integration in mind, I decided that this would not hinder, only help.> He proffers it to Abigail.

Abigail's eyes are like saucers. She takes the gauntlet and holds it up. It glimmers a grey-green in the sunlight. <...Steward...I...I kept imagining this...leather, metal thing. A hook.> She giggles. <This is like jewelry. Thank you so much!>

<...try it on,> Steward says.

You think those three words might be the most human thing you've heard from him yet. He sounds like a father, eager to please a daughter. Like a steward, finally helping the people he was built to help.

She loops the strap around her elbow. It's a perfect fit. The rest of the gauntlet sits snug over her stump - it looks like she's just wearing armor over a hand that's there.

She inhales. <I can move this.> You feel threads of Spirit snake out her arm and into the gauntlet. The fingers being to move, flex. She clenches it, unclenches it. <...fingers...> Her lips tremble. <...this is great, Steward. Thank you.>

<You are welcome. I am glad to pay some of my debt to Shadow. I am glad that you are happy.>

<Very,> she says. Her face is brighter than the sunbeams. <But you know, Shadow, what was that about your own method of integration?>

>tell her about your idea of artifacting her hand

And, as I believe was mentioned a long time ago when discussing poison, our playstyle generally revolves around killing enemies well under 6-8 turns. Plus we have to be able to land a bite to even inject the poison, so it's all but nullified against opponents with a good melee defense or heavy armor.

It's useful, but only worth it if we would have went with a more stealth/utility build instead of super magic strength kill everything.

It's not like there aren't also a lot of people.

It's not a perfect analogy, obviously, but what I'm trying to get at is that it doesn't have to be about flawlessly optimizing for maximum speculated utility. There could very well be people out there that are more worthy of our Servant/Chosen/Arbiter slots, but we don't need to go out and poll all of Venia in order to make sure we're getting it 100% right.
>>

<Wait, are you sure? I still need energy to do it...>

<I've got your energy,> she says. <Let's go. You can fly better than I can.>

<Alright.> You take Abigail up in your arms, spread your wings, and take off over the city, gaining altitude quickly so you don't alarm anyone. You're surprised to find Steward following you. <Steward?>

<I believe that I want to observe this, if you don't mind,> he says.

You fly across the river and over to the flooded gardens, which are now indeed quite flooded with all the melting snow and ice. You see the Nemesis by the imprints it makes on the ground. It's not truly hidden at the moment, but then, maybe hiding in plain sight is enough for now. Sandalphon can't well launch an attack on you adjacent to Dobshire.

You remember the structure well enough to find the entrance - and a few shadow mages standing guard around it, not hidden enough to hide from your senses, confirm your memory for you. Abigail waves to them and struts inside. They give you firm nods and smiles when they see you. You wave a shadowy hand back.

You're inside the Nemesis, walking through its long halls and circular atria. Eventually, you get into the bowels of the ship, where the aesthetics are traded for more exposed wiring, spartan bunkrooms, and storage spaces. You reach a large double-door at the end of an intersection. Abigail pushes through.

She marches to the center of a vast, rectangular space. White track lighting extends across the ceiling. The floor and walls are repetitive steel tiles. You immediately feel your sense of the outside world deadens. It reminds you of Hemmelus's lab, only the effect seems even stronger.

There are about a dozen angels bunched in the center of the room, tied up and unconscious under a heavy cloud of shadow magic. Four shadow mages are standing guard. They straighten when you walk in.

>con't

>>30748003
No, dipshit, Chosen does not work like that.

>>30747993

>>
>>30748002
if we gift him a tree it will. he will be able to use all the shadow magic we give him.
>>
<You didn't tell me we'd captured any of them,> you say.

<We almost didn't.> Abigail walks over to one and eyes him like a spider eyeing a fly. <That one killed an angel, and one of the mages Ila used to know. Ila would have killed him, after, but he was quick enough that her attack only knocked him out.>

"Shadow," one of the mages says, "are you here to erase them? Ila said you'd be around eventually."

They're a bit defenseless. But...they were attacking your allies to distract you from rescuing Donovan. If it wasn't for them...

This is war, but they're not even prisoners of war - less than that. Enemy spies, combatants not in lawful combat, if any combat could ever be said to be lawful. If you consume them now, they might as well have died in the attack.

Steward is just inside the doors, arms at his sides, standing at attention. Abigail turns back to you. "Surprise! Plenty of energy, right?"

I sort of feel this way too. She's got the right mindset, but I'm not sure we've had enough interaction to justify jumping up the chain without a trial period first. Servant at the very least is pretty much a no-brainer.

Honestly, if it would help the war effort, we could easily afford to justify Servanting almost anyone compatible in line with our efforts who was capable of scraping together 7 XP worth of expendable magic items for consumption.

We can revoke Servant status at any time, after all, so there's not even much of a downside.

That said, I don't think we could trust Yi Fang to be discreet with it; he'd probably spend half of the first hour of getting used to it flapping his wings and laughing at Sandalphon.

>I almost want to just tell them that they can stay if they really want to watch, but it's not going to be pretty...
This is sort of the boat I'm in.

These guys are responsible for attacking and killing some of their friends, after all. I'm sure some grisly part of themselves wants to see justice done.

And then they get to see that justice isn't always pretty, and maybe that tempers their thirst for revenge a little in the future.

Or leaves them in a 6:1:1 or so split of tempered - petrified - sadistic.

>>
"You won't want to watch this," you tell the mages. "Step outside."

The exchange glances. They aren't used to hearing your aloud voice. They file out of the room. The double doors sweep closed behind them, and the deadened feeling of seclusion returns.

You begin to shift, and change, and morph into a ball of shadow. You roil across the bound angels like a black sludge come alive, melting the flesh from their bones and then dissolving the bones for good measure.

>you've gained 16 EXP (total: 16)
>you've gained 12 mana (76/76)

In short order, there's only one left.

"Not that one?" Abigail asks.

"That," you say, staring at the unconscious angel, "is valuable evidence. Auriel thinks that Raphael and Charmeine can be reasoned with. And even if we can put in a seed of doubt...anything to undermine Sandalphon is a good thing."

"Good thinking! I was kinda caught up in the moment..." A smug smile sits on her face. "So...about that whole enchanting thing...?"

"...well, how about it." You step up to her and take her gauntlet in both your hands. You feel the fingers tighten slightly. On instinct. Steward outdid himself. "...thank you Steward."

"You are welcome."

"So." Abigail looks at where you clasp her hand, then up at your face. "What happens now?"

"...I can only do this two more times," you say, "and I'm not even sure what it is I'm doing. But here goes."

There's a gate inside of you.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pbAt34gxdB0

At least, that's how you'd describe it. Having felt it for a second time, now, you're sure it's more like a gate than anything else. A connection, somewhere. Not the Nether, not Venia. Not the island in the Void; not even the Void itself.

It's a source of power, of Order. It is Order. It's the stuff Order is made of, where it comes from. You glimpse it, as if you're standing on a cliff and staring out over an impossibly huge ocean, a tiny grain of sand on a beach of infinity.

The power runs through you and passes into Abigail's gauntlet.

From where you touch it, it begins to turn black, stained with the energy flooding out from the gateway. The greenish hue of the gauntlet runs dark with that inky energy.

The gauntlet clamps down on Abigail's arm. She stiffens. Tendrils of shadow bite out from the edge of it and hook into her arm, and embed themselves there. You see flesh that isn't flesh morph and twist up and into the gauntlet, merging with her half-human, half-chaos self. It doesn't reject it; rather, it's transforming into something else.

>con't

The gauntlet shifts, and cracks. It expands, piece by piece, plate by plate, unfolding from nothing, reminiscent of the armor that coated her arms and back when you made her your Chosen. But this isn't just a thin layer of order-soaked scales - this is heavy, needling armor, armor that looks like it would cut you if you touch it, armor built to laugh in the face of a storm of light.

The power is working on its own, now, unfolding without your guidance. You step away. Abigail watches in fascination as the armor clacks and shudders into place around her body, snapping into a collar high around her neck. A helmet comes up and folds itself around her head; spikes grow from it like a crown.

She stands there, then covered in purified Order forged into the armor of a juggernaut. She looks terrifying. If you didn't already know it was her, you'd have no way of telling what was beneath that armor.

She raises her hand. It's slightly different than the rest of the armor - there's a power concentrated there, a focal point, a humming potential that wants to be used, unleashed. <...do you feel that? It's like...>

There's a flash of darkness that drains the light from the room. In an instant, a pole grows in her grip. At its end extends a massive scythe. She sweeps it gently across her front. The air hums and cracks with purple light where it's cut by the blade of her weapon.

She passes the scythe to her right hand. It remains intact. She raises her palm again. A plate of darkness forms in front of her like a shield. She moves her hand, and the shield follows her movement. She focuses for a moment, and the shield expands, its size easily protecting her from head to toe - as if the armor needed additional protection.

She clenches her fist. The scythe vanishes. The armor begins folding away, faster this time. You feel her will actively directing it, putting it away. The process speeds up as she handles the power, feels it out.

In the end, she's left as she was, wearing a gauntlet. It's solid black onyx. You can't see where the plates join, but it's perfectly flexible. It's like one smooth, solid piece.

"...almost," she says.

The gauntlet wavers, and vanishes. She's left with a perfectly normal looking left hand. She raises her fingers up to the lights on the ceiling, staring at them in wonder.

She turns back to you. Her new hand touches your cheek. Her eyes start to well up. "I can feel them. I can feel you."

She starts to cry. You take her up in a hug and hold her against you while she lets it out.

It's a familiar position. She's been though a lot. Too much.

So have you.

You wonder that it hasn't effected you.

"Shadow," she says. "Now...I have enough strength to protect you, too. I can feel it. It can do more. I'll have to practice. But...thank you."

"I'm just sorry I ever hurt you in the first place, Abby."

"...s'ok," she says. She sniffs. "I wanted to make up for...messing up. I wanted to show you...I should have just let you and Adavan go. But I...it wasn't all your fault. So don't say it like it was."

You give her a squeeze. "...yes, councilor."

"...better."

"That," Steward says from across the room, "was an interesting observation."

No.

Shadefang is expensive. I think I'll have it do DoT to make up for the fact that it's extremely unlikely for it to instant kill anything with significant Shadow resistance.

>>30749176

Eh, you're on the Nemesis, it'll be right off the bat next time.

>>30749184

I just power through it. Caffeine helps to get over the hump. Once you're over the hump, you're good. Although I guess it doesn't count if you consider caffeine a drug.

I hate Spring Forward so I just only got two hours of sleep on purpose to sort of reset myself.
>>
>>30749202
I thought we already agreed Artifact wasn't a consolation prize.

Abby already claimed the next level of Servant when Ila got Chosen first. She'd be extremely cross with us if we still chose Ila and Shadow knows that.

Maybe you should live in AZ then.

Not daylight savings.

So, with this artifact upgrade, if we Arbiter Abigail, will she be able to go toe to toe with Dave?

Nope. Dave has ALL the Chosen / Arbiter upgrades. Those give more mana and base stats on top of their listed effects.

Both Abby and Nemesis are Defensive upgrades at their core. Lets Artifact a weapon next.
>>
>>30749342
Seriously, if we're being super!pragmatic then Melody would be probably be the best choice in terms of skill and power. I'd rather it be Abigail, though, given how comfortable she is with our power and how willing she is to get shit done.

Right, right. Forgot his leg got blown all the way off.

That said, from thread 66:
> She tells you that repairing her lost hand in its entirety would be beyond anything but the capabilities of a team of angelic healers, preferably led by herself - and that it would only possible if the wound was fresh. The stump can never be regenerated.

Abby's hand was at the point where even high-end Light magic wouldn't have been capable of replacing it, so her showing up seemingly unmarred is going to get a LOT of attention from people who know anything at all about healing magic.

Dark Aegis
