Thread 2: http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/30525829/

You are Michael Groves, and you have been walked into the lair of a swarm of mostly slumbering bunnygirls, red-eyed and amorous and so very comfortable to hold and rest with. You might have been more comfortable with the situation had you not been magically transformed into a girl last night, and the person you suspect of doing it - and dragging you into this whole mess - can be seen half-buried beneath the slowly writhing pile of bodies.

Jean, a friend of a friend, the one who you'd been tracking down when you stumbled from in front of a pet shop into a surreal realm of pillows and plush carpet and variously endowed rabbit-girls - one of which you'd gently put to sleep and left behind you.

Jean, who'd earlier smacked you in the chest with that wand of hers and blasted you with some sort of magic while in the shape of a deformed monster - after you'd leapt out at her from a closet to stop her presumably attacking the girl you were somewhat attracted to. Jean, in an outfit that now you come to see her when not half in agony and with her straddled across your body, looking for all the world like a more conservative Sailor Moon outfit - abundant with gems and jewels and currently adorned with so very fluffy girls.

It's the sudden ache in your chest where she'd hurt you and the anger of being attacked like that that keeps you on your feet through the quiet, mesmerizing hum of this place.

Approach is difficult but not impossible, one tentative step after the other through this rabbit minefield towards the pile of fluff atop the magically inclined girl. Your knee-high boots brush past clutching paws, stepping around arms just wanting to grab and cuddle you.
>>
>>30654697

Some of the bunnies (demons?!) in the group ahead are still conscious, still lucid, and they reach out to you, cooing gently for you to join them. It's enough to alert the girl entwined in their grasp and she turns, rousing the one who's bosom she was lying on momentarily until she strokes it back into sleep.

Her hand is raised once again, holding the gaudy ornamental wand between the two of you. Not raised at you, at your own sleek corset and biker jacket and miniskirt and spats and long socks and boots, but horizontal, a guarded yet defensive pose.
"Who.. 'r you...?" Each other word comes with a tired nod of the head, eyes struggling to stay open. "Not.. Witch, right?" You can feel it too, a peaceful lethargy that coils into your mind, an allure of comfort within arms reach of soft, willing bodies and beckoning embrace.

I just want to pull one out and cuddle with them forever.

You shake your head to clear your thoughts and respond;

[ ] She's threatening you. Disarm her and then we can see how much she'll talk.

[ ] We're not going to step in without some answers. What is she and what did she do to us?

[ ] She- doesn't recognise us like this. If we can fool her we should be able to get some information from her by helping her out.

[ ] -Even though she hurt us, it was... confusing. Despite all what's happened, she's someone who's a friend of a friend, and she looks like she could need some help. How can we help her?

[x] We're not going to step in without some answers. What is she and what did she do to us?
You frown, looking over at the wand – the main danger in your mind, and you hold your hands up slowly as if to calm her down. It works, sort of – one of the bunnies lounging over her shoulder drags her soft paws over the arm, gently pushing it back towards the ground as Jean’s head nods – her eyes blinking shut and open again. They reach out to you, too, as you draw in closer. Tempting as it is to simply lean forwards and land in their embrace so very tempting-! you want answers now, not cuddles.
“What did you do to me, Jean?” you hiss, the words a slicing sound through the murmering breathing of the dozens around you. More of them are awakening with each word, some momentarily falling back to sleep, some struggling for traction to squish against Jean further, some starting to slowly crawl out of the pile.
“Wait, who-“ Jean shakes her head, the little green jewels atop her tiara shaking slightly. The light it reflects is warm coloured on the ground, dancing atop fur and bare skin alike. “-Carrie? No, no- that – I checked you, you were clean-“

The look of mortified, half-dazed shock on her face is already somewhat mollifying, though it doesn’t stop you from stepping forwards again, shaking off one clutching hand.
“I’m Michael! You turned me into a girl! And- and while I was walking out in the mall, I got dragged in here with you!” That snapped her out of it – she jerks slightly, more of the rabbits bouncing free. Crawling up to you on all fours, their puffy little tails waving in the air as they approach.
>>
>>30655431
“That- that’s impo- that can’t be right. –You can see me? –Look, Michael, this – this isn’t-“ The strangely dressed girl yawns, trying to stifle it as best she can. “It’s not that safe, here – I need to put all these demons to sleep, or we’ll end up knocked out… -that won’t be very good, and some of them might escape… -Dammit, some of them woke up. Do you know how to find an exit?”

You shake your head somewhat suspiciously, stepping out the way of one of the bunnygirls as they try to hug against your legs, rubbing their cheeks on you, long-ears waving against your boots.
“-Ok… I can – I might be able to explain later, if you help me… can you help me pacify them? They all need to be asleep, or all awake… I nearly had them resting.”

[ ] Yes… I’ll help you put them to sleep. For now.
[ ] I'll solve this my own way. They need to be awake? I'll wake them right up.
[ ] No, no way. I’m going to try to break out of here.

[X] Yes... I'll help you put them to sleep. For now.

You hesitate, as you kneel, for the moment fending these needy paws from you. “-How?” You’d dealt with one like that, but it had already made you a fair bit tired. If Jean had been putting all of them to sleep…

“Comfort them, pet them, make them feel safe.” She’s already hugging one squirming girl to her chest, the furry corset the bunnygirl wore rubbing against her legs as she hugs it’s head to her enviously sized bosom. The feeble flailing of the one she held dying down, arms dragging against her as it sinks into another slumber. “They’re the desires of pets, given form by magic… wanting hugs, wanting to be happy… to be safe enough to rest… just fulfil them, and they can be returned to their owners.” Jean’s words are almost hypnotically quiet, and you have to fight off an urge to sleep yourself.

With only the faintest bit of worry you reach out again, letting the demon’s paws brush against you, reaching for softness and warmth on your body even as you pet on of their heads – gently stroking between two floppy ears as the girl you touch lets out a satisfied squeal of happiness – sinking to her knees before each gentle rub. You hug another to your side, trying to stay on your feet as arms wrap around your waist, feeling her nuzzle on your side. There’s a host of them looking up with needy eyes, each touch of them wanting to comfort you, too, wanting to cuddle up against you and keep you as a protector and warmth-giver and resting hug-dispenser.
>>
>>30655958
“Cover your ears-!” Jean’s voice, as you blink awake again, seeing her raise her wand as you pat a third bunnygirl on the back. You put your hands up, just as the gentle hum of noise deepens, a low thrum that sends a lethargic wave to your core, that sent the girls around you into an exhausted sleep.

You had to stay awake, just a bit longer-!

Stay awake with –
[ ] Anger. You were going to get the job done, and then she was going to give you what you asked for, dammit!

How about no. Anger is objectively the best emotion:
>can be used by any type of hero (good or evil)
>means you are fucking motivated

The other guy was kind of a faggot with his whole "anger the best emotion" routine, but you're an even bigger faggot for trying to browbeat everyone into accepting your opinion as law, even going as far as to try and use a namefag of all things (and a shitty one at that) to bolster your credibility.

[x] ??? – You could block it out, if only you knew how.

A well of power, of desire to simply stay awake, to not hear the melodic chords. It is an uncomfortably vaguely familiar sensation, one you associated with when your body had twisted into something new, one that you shy from even as you try to mould it. Was this what magic felt like?

As you struggle to control this… solidified urge within yourself, it echoes out in a cancellation effect, stopping the noise from the glowing reaching you, the pulsing light dimming into a muted glow. You see lucidly the girls around Jean slump down, curling up around you in quiet slumber. And can hear the quiet pitter-patter of feet behind you, running almost silently in your direction, only to stop for a moment –

A burgeoning soft something – a pair of somethings – press into your back, jolting your concentration from your mind, knocking your hands away from your ears. A tight hug around your back, someone gripping you with great need, squeezing down as they reach round your body.

The jolt to full wakefulness is not enough to offset the doubled effect of the bunny holding you and Jean’s peaceful music – you blush as you sink to your knees, the girl clutching at you shifting away from your breasts as she wraps round your body. It’s the bunnygirl from before, pristine white clothes with blue trim around her hair. Her paws had vanished, leaving her with delicate hands that caress your body even as you reach to support her. Her stare changes from the hurt look of someone abandoned to that of gratified relief, of momentary happiness as you pull her against yourself once again. And as you slip into sleep yourself, you at least know you managed to help one entity in this bizarre place.
>>
>>30656948
>making a loooootta assumptions here

You have gained a desire – comfort, quiet rest, cuddling. You have gained two shadow fragments.
-You sleep. A black space surrounds you here, one as close to you as yourself.

That was… odd. I feel different, now...

“Who’s there?” Your voice does not echo, does not sound in the darkness.

Who said that?

That voice… familiar, yet not. “You sound like me. Me… before I changed”

You sound like me… me now. Am I hearing voices? I want to see myself again, I want to hug the girl that looks like me.

-Ever slightly so creepy. You struggle, trapped in the darkness – trying to shake yourself up, to shake yourself awake-
---

Jean is above you, lying back on a chair. You stare at the underside of her top from below, turning your head slightly to realise that you are lying on her lap. She’s in a casual dress top now, a loose fitting jumper that makes her look somewhat frumpy.

“You’re awake? How are you feeling?” Only concern evident on her face.

That doesn't make any fucking sense. Why would you do that?!
>>
Fae can you please take the first 3 rolls regardless of what they vote for?
>>
>>30657359
They typically are in roll as you vote mechanics, which is why I warned against it.
>>
>>30657347
>Also, it's not retarded.

Tying rolls to votes means that the vote that has high rolls wins or is skewed to it. Continuing to do so will just have one person vote for each then everyone hop on the best roll.
>>
>>30656015
>>30656020
>>30656043

You always pick the top three, regardless of what vote is attached to it. Otherwise you encourage voting for the highest roll.
>>
>>30657348
Well, I asked you to list a better emotion. You said anger.

It doesn't even matter as determination comes from emotions. That's like saying "I win" to "How do you win" question.
>>
>>30657347
>>Also, it's not retarded. We have multiple fucking rolls and too many quests are with the attitude that the player should get critical rolls 50% of the time and lose once in a year.

Doing it this way ensures people will vote for the best roll no matter what. Now that people know the solution, it'll be gamed, and that ensures more crits and more success.
>>
>>30657379
>>30657391
I always vote for what I think is the right option, so that notion passed me. We still should give our rolls some chance to fail.
>>
>>30657392
I just listed something I liked better than anger. I never said it absolutely had to be an emotion. If it is an emotion I would rather have love than anger.
>>
>>30657441
You are delusional if you think people aren't going to prioritize winning over characteriziation. Because losing sucks and can lead to death.
>>
Writing. Please bear with me for an explanation.
>>
>>30657482
I never denied that, just forgot about it. /tg/ should stop being so casual and learn that better live with the correct choice and nat 1 than pursue some slut 20.

We should still not have too many rolls as it will almost guarantee close to no way to roll low.
>>
>>30657534
Then have best of three no matter what vote, or vote after choice.

[x] "What did you do to me?"
There’s still a little snap of annoyance to your voice, tempered by you just waking. A pause, and…

“Ah,” she says delicately.

Yer’ a magical girl, now, Michael.
That’s the gist of what she tells you, the explanation that bustles through your head. A magical girl, born of desire and aether – together creating magic – and bound into an unwritten contract that focuses your power, allows it to be used in a relatively safe and controlled manner-

“Not that! Why am I a girl now!?” As you sit up, Jean’s head jerks, looking around. The inside of the pet shop is quiet, the bunnies in the cages opposite resting peacefully. As if unconcerned by the ruckus, the shop owner turns a page in the newspaper, only glancing up slightly and then returning to his work.
You can see Jean take a deep breath, see her eyes glitter with guilt and puzzlement both, before she launches back into her explanation.

Gender, as it turned out, did not matter a great deal for magical “girls”, though for some reason it turned out mostly girls ended up as them. As for why YOU were a girl – well, back in Cassie’s apartment Jean was apparently trying to save Cassie, to draw out the aether infected desire from her into a demon form before it started to rampage. The magic that had struck her and you both, affecting it unpredictably. Apparently the combination of her shadow that had struck you, and Jean’s magic, had affected you that way, in a freak accident. Just an accident.

The guilt in her eyes and the bitten back words says otherwise, and you wonder if you should push her or let it go.
>>
>>30658530
[x] “What happened back there?”

“That? That was a demon – a very odd one. Not just one, in fact – almost a few dozen of them, very weak, very small demons that had banded together. Animal demons, something almost unheard of.”

Demons – the simple mix of desire and aether, ungoverned by the contracts of magical girls. Beings of magic, they could spring forth from people’s thoughts and wishes, forming distortions in the world called Nightmares – the space that you had accidentally intruded into. They would either manifest as solid beings themselves – just like the rabbitgirls did, or they could sometimes possess the person who had such a desire. The desires themselves could be something as benign as loving harmony, or something dark, something horrid. Either way, demons were not something one would wish to leave on their own – their presence when manifested drew more aether into this world, allowing more desires of others to become infected – or they could ruin the lives of those they possessed, turning them into little more than desire-driven puppets.

“-What happened in that nightmare, then? What happened? Why did I fall asleep?” Here, Jean actually smiles over at you, and you flush slightly, feeling patronized and short at the same time.

Demons, and their defeat. –There were three main ways to defeat a demon, though both had their flaws.

The easier way was of course to use force – to simply destroy their manifestations, to break apart their barrier. This would destroy that demon, rip apart the desire that created it, leave the person who summoned it bereft of those wants and needs. Often the easiest to carry out – though not always the safest, especially if other people were present in the nightmare.
>>
>>30658556
Then, one could always deny the desire, fully and utterly. More difficult, this took careful understanding of what the demon wanted, and taking it away, preventing it from having such a thing. It would drive the demon often into a frenzy, swiftly exhaust itself, and be easily dissipated with magic at that point. The desire would return to the owner, free of magic, but it would be a bitter thing, one that would not be as enjoyable to them.

And lastly, Jean said, one can grant them their desire. She spreads out her hands to the far wall, the resting bunnies, happy and content. Perhaps easy enough to say, but to carry out – a tricky thing. But if it is not something that is harmful, sometimes one can help keep demons in check, and keep some thing’s dreams intact at the same time.

She bows her head, then. “Thank you, Michael, for helping me keep these little bunnies happy.”
[x] Ask where the bunnygirl made off to too.

This time, she frowns slightly. “I don’t recall seeing any one that stood out – was there an important one?” Annoyed, you explain about the one that had jumped you when you were trying to – trying to stop her from making you fall asleep. You glance across the wall of bunnies again, silently deciding to take a closer look at them later on.

“Oh, that? That was quite impressive, actually.” She explains – trying to shape magic the way you did very nearly worked, and probably would have, if you were more used to magic. If you had used your emotions – perhaps anger, or listened to your heart, it might have worked a bit better. Magic is shaped around your emotions at the time of your transformation into a magical girl, and it looked like you were rather annoyed… about something or other, no doubt… at that time. Of course, there are some situations where you might find it harder to use one sort of magic than another, depending on what you’re using it for!”

“Magic from magical girls also doesn’t work too well on other magical girls,” she continues, looking over at the sleeping rabbits. “It’s – that’s probably why you didn’t forget earlier.”

(Currently, your stats:
Fury: 4 – 4d6
Heart: 3 – 3d6
Magic: 2 – 2d6)

“You felt a great surge within you, right? That’s a burst, a sudden impulse of need or power to carry out the task at hand. It can be powerful, but such a power can backfire on you later on – magic is far from safe to use, when you are using your own desires to shape it.”

(Magic was selected by majority vote. Best of three rolls were taken with a dicepool of 2d6: rolled 6,6: two bursts = 24.)
(Opposing roll: 4d6 magic, -1d6 vs magical girl: 3,6,6: two bursts = 27: 1 margin of failure)

You frown, the thought that your momentary emotions earlier shaping how the future of your potential magical career could be making you even more furious – Jean seems to see this, and shaking her head slightly.

“Hey, you’re still only nominally contracted. If you want to try again, you should see Atropos and have your contract properly set up – a contract done by another magical girl tends to be somewhat… vague.” –And she hesitates, now, regret on her expression. “-I mean, that’s only if you wanted to be a magical girl. I mean, who would? I can probably try to change you back, eventually. It’d be hard, but I know how to. I can fix this for you, I swear.”
(If you choose to go over you contract, you can rearrange your stat pools.)
She takes a long breath. “Sorry for dumping all this on you. It must be a lot to take in.”
[ ] You said earlier that it must have been an accident. Are you sure that’s all there was to it? I – I just want to know why this happened. Is that so bad?

[ ] You mentioned Carrie’s desires infected by the aether – will she be ok?

[ ] How are you planning on fixing me?

[ ] Atropos? Who’s he?

[ ] Other – writein.

(Sorry for the voting and dice rolling issues. In future, I will ask for the correct number dice to be rolled only after votes have been collated, and take only the first three. Currently, stats are: Magic: 2d6, Heart: 3d6, Fury: 4d6. This may be able to be changed at a later date, and can increase through various means. Thank you for bearing with me. For this vote, the top three options will be chosen.)

Because our character didn't know much about the nature of magic, if you paid attention you would've known we were Fury and chosen Anger accordingly.

But it's hardly Fae's fault that people are drawn to the mystery box and then get upset when it's not the best option.
>>

>>

Owing a demon familiar is still up in the air and would likely have been due to previous choices.
>>
>>30658800
ALL OF THEM WERE MYSTERY BOX

WE DIDN'T KNOW OUR FUCKING STATS
>>
I don't know, I don't think this is a bad result, as someone who didn't really care about a pet demon bunny girl. Not every choice needs to lead to the ideal scenario- though admittedly more hints about what each choice entails would definitely be nice.

My biggest complaint is just how unnecessarily complicated the system is. The original incarnation was even worse, in that regard.
>>
>>30658798
Heart is our next highest stat. If I don't like the Fury option I'm going to pick the one most likely to succeed.
>>
>>30658813
>Still up in the air

Fae, it's outright not possible now. By your own admission, bunnygirl will not happen, because you fucked up the rolling and we moved on a stat-based decision without knowing our stats.
>>
>>30658824
We knew we were Fury based, and that anger = fury. It's not my fault you're a drooling imbecile who threw logic out the window because HURR, ANGER IS FOR FAGS, MYSTERY BOX MYSTERY BOX!
>>
>>30658837
So... You moved your choice from the second most likely to succeed to the one least likely to.
>>
>>30658813
You did not present stats. You obfuscated which stats went with which option (even though that was pretty easy to figure out).
And then you punish us, not just by screwing us out of the bunnygirl, but giving us a 'desire'.
Is that going to be permanent? Are you going to give us a permanent flaw based on a roll that YOU fucked up?
>>
Not to be pedentic but while we didn't know the numbers when we voted for what type of magic influenced us Fury came in first, heart second and magic third. As long as you recognized the three options were the three types of magic then you could have made an educated guess.

“Carrie is… clean from any sort of demons or magic, it looked like. I checked over both of you and didn’t find anything like demons present. I might have overlooked the fact that you were… changing, because I wasn’t really looking for it. But, since obviously I missed something out with you, I’ll look over her again. –In fact, I might get Atropos to check her up, too. He’s nice, once you get to know him a bit.

“Atropos? He’s-“

Magi. A… counterpart to magical girls, in a way. Without the raw power of desire, their wills and abilities bound up intricately in rituals and ceremony and tradition – someone who controls little magic with a delicate touch. Holding magic and the aether in check, keeping it back from the world as best they can. Why? Because of what magic could do, if left unchecked.

“-But, honestly, once you get to know him, he’s… well, he’s got some rough edges, but he means well.” Jean is not very good at making people sound better than they are. “He’ll be able to help out, no matter what you decide on.”

You leave the thought of a giant conspiracy holding back magic to the back of your head, trying to focus on your own problems before the enormity of exactly what that meant kicked in.

[X] How are you planning on fixing me?
“Magic. Of course. –Well, magical girl magic is something tricky. Magic has odd effects on magical girls, and so it’s no easy task. But, if it’s what you really wish for, you can get rid of the… gender change affecting you, and take away your magic, too. With these-“

“Take it.” Distantly, you hold out your hand, and she places it lightly in yours. You can feel the electric hum of magic within, and – something familiar, a touch on the cheek, a hug round your back. A whisper of grateful happiness.

“A demon’s essence,” she murmurs. “Or rather, quite a few of animal demon essences… well, this adds up to pretty much a single one, either way.” It gleams as you grasp it close. It looks tasty. Or- what can we do with this? Why does it feel familiar?

“Demon essences are powerful – crystallized magic that has the some of the desire trapped inside of it, that can be used to make your heart’s desire come true. That one, I harvested from the rabbits after you fell asleep. You need several of them – usually around ten – and a magi to make sure your desires do not overpower you, but with such a thing, you can use it to change yourself back. There are… other uses for them, like eating them to become stronger, but that comes with its own drawbacks.” She looks at it longingly, then sighs, and closes your hand. “Guard it closely, for they’re difficult to come by.”

Another pause, as she looks at the store, at the quiet life there. “If that’s what you truly want in your heart, to change back, and to stop being a magical girl, I’d need to collect twenty of them to perform each change on you. It won’t be easy, but I need to right my mistakes, if nothing else.” She sighs, giving you a bittersweet smile. “At least nothing went wrong with Cassie, eh?”

That, at least, you can agree on.

All this is too much to take in. You needed to-

[ ] Take a look at the bunnies. At least you managed to do something – make cute bunnies have a good sleep.

[ ] Rest on Jean’s lap some more. If she owed you as much as she said she did, she could handle that much at least.

[ ] Go home and rest. You should tell Cassie – and Thomas - about all of this.

I didn't know it would lose. In fact it came close to winning. We were only off by 3 points. If one of those sixs had been a 5 we'd have won outright.
>>
>>30659789
??? used TWO DICE, you fucking retard. TWO. We could not have won. It was, literally, IMPOSSIBLE with the option that you chose! It was completely, and totally, impossible to roll higher unless you pulled some Cohen The Barbarian shit and rolled a 7 on a single fucking die.

(First post this thread)

The fact of the matter is that you knowingly voted against our best chance of victory solely because you didn't like the stat, which you said yourself could be changed later anyway.

I cannot prove that you knowingly chose our weakest stat, but you have done little to convince us otherwise.
>>
>>30659838
No, if one of the OPPOSING DICE had been a 5, it would have counted for 7 points less.
Which of course raises two questions: why the fuck we using opposed rolls instead of static DCs, and why the fuck do demons get Bursts?
>>
>>30659858
>Dissing motherfucking Cohen.

OUT. I WILL SHITPOST UNTIL YOU FUCKING LEAVE.
>>
>>30659838
... you are a moron. Go read >>30658615
Look at the dice rolls. Look at how close ours was to the opposing roll. We had a 24, they had a 27. If they hadn't rolled that second six we would have won.
>>
>>30659875
>having poor reading comprehension
I was mocking the anti-Fury fags, dumbass.
>>
>>30659872
Demons getting bursts should be self explanatory.

They have nothing to fear from drawing too deeply of darkness. It can only give them more demon-ness.
>>
>>30659881
>If they hadn't rolled that second six we would have won.

But they did. And for the ENTIRE VOTING TIME, you knew that. You also knew that 27 is impassable with 2d6+burst.

Yet you voted for ???, which was our lowest stat. At 2d6. Which made it IMPOSSIBLE for us to win.
>>
>>30659881
>... you are a moron.

>>
>>30659904
I had no idea what our stats were. I even asked fae about them beforehand. He replied that we don't get them. So no, I didn't know we would lose because we picked mystery box.
>>
>>30659881
I was not aware you could not read posts. Such as the one that had the enemy roll visible the entire voting period.
>>
>>30659881
You fail to notice that if we had 1 or 2 (especially 2) extra dice to roll, we wouldn't have needed the opposing roll to be lower.

Average die roll(not counting burst):3.5
Average die roll(counting burst):4.5

We would have easily met the dc with either of the other two stats.
>>
To tell you the truth I didn't even notice the dice.
>>
>>30659952
From original Breaker, the opposing stat had 2d6 to the heavier stat's 4d6. In the original, we had Heart. leaving Fury at 2d6.

In this one, we had Fury, known as of last thread.
>>
>>30659904
We didn't know that demons got bursts. We didn't know which stats we were even rolling for, because Fae said to roll 4d6 regardless.
The whole thing was misleading as shit.
>>
>>30659952
But you still picked the one that was most likely to fail because you didn't want the one that was most likely to succeed to win. Why do you hate this quest so much?
>>
>>30659952
No worries. I'm just amuse the antifury folk didn't pick heart since that's what they pulled onto during the character gen vote. Hell, we still would have won by 2 points with that.
>>
>>30660001

>>
>>30659993
Not really. We could do better, we could do worse, but we're still in the tutorial phase so we weren't going to die.
>>

[x] Look at Fluffy Tail
You glance listlessly outside the window for a moment, fury and magic and worry mingling in your heart in a confusing, tangled mix. You tell Jean that you might need some time to think about it, and she nods. Loathe to leave you, she gives one last sorrowful look back before walking out of the store.

She looked different out of her magical girl outfit. More hunched over, more closed to herself – the times that you’d remembered speaking to her perfunctorily. Yet she’d opened up to you today. You suppose it was probably not that unlikely, given all that she did to you.

-Another thing that slipped your mind, that completely ridiculous getup. –Oh, well.

Without much thought you rise, placing the little essence of demon in your pocket as you stroll to the sleeping rabbits where they lay. “At least you don’t need to worry about all of this…”
>>
>>30660289
uh, it already is us vs you
I didn't have to try or anything, it just happened because you lot were insecure about fury not being our best stat.
>>
>>30660289
But, you are doing the exact same thing. You focused on Redaeth to try and discredit him and get him to leave.

You are like Shun, Shun him so you listen to me instead of him.
>>
>>30660309

“-Feeling a bit better?” The store owner – you recognise him by sight, if not by name. Angelina’s father – one of the people who picked up that elegant girl from time to time from Carries house. You nod to him, not trusting your voice. “That girl managed to carry you in from outside. A good friend of yours?” You’re not too sure how to respond to that for now, staring down over at the sleeping wall. –And a twitch of movement, to one side, drawing your eye.
“Well, it’s she’s a nice girl, I guess, if a bit…” The older man’s lips purse slightly, in disapproval. “I sometimes wonder about her. –I don’t think I’ve seen you around here, before. See anything interesting, perhaps?”

Aside from the casual statement of your anonymity with this face stinging once again, there was something interesting. One of the rabbits awake, staring up at you. A rabbit, gently batting at the cage, white with tinges of blue around its ears, a pattern over its fur. Staring with an impossibly intelligent gaze as it rubs its nose against the bars. –And in your pocket, the demon essence hums.

[ ] I.. could buy the bunny. It… I could use the companionship in all of this mess.

[ ] …No. Better not. It deserves a better home than what I could give it.

(Notes: Desires are not permanent on acquisition, however they do open up further Shadow options. If these desires are chosen to be carried out, they can become an integral part of the character.)
(In future, choices will be clearly labelled with [Fury], [Magic] and [Heart] to avoid other such issues. A character sheet will be written up appropriately. Dice rolls will be requested after votes, best of three will be taken. Opposed rolls only occur when in combat with other magical girl effects; for fighting demons or attempting to trigger moves, set DCs will be used. Apologies for mismanagement of dice this time round!)

[x] I.. could buy the bunny. It… I could use the companionship in all of this mess.

Really now, this honestly only go one way. With a little jostle, you dig your wallet out of your pocket, looking over the price for the bunny in question. It wasn’t that much, in itself, but Angela’s father advises you that the price isn’t just for the bunny in question, but the care, treatments, cages and the like – an undertaking not done lightly. –You don’t mind quite that much, knowing somewhat guiltily about your allowance, though you do casually mention Angela would be happy to know about it, which raises an eyebrow and a polite chuckle. The bunny itself is patient now it sees you up close once more, only reaffirming your decision. How could you leave it alone for someone else?

A few minutes and forms later, and you are now the proud owner of a new rabbit in cage and food for a few days for it, something that cheers your heart as you wave goodbye to the shopkeeper. It seems happy that you’ve taken it in hand, though as you leave it does look longingly back at the other rabbits it had been taken from. But it settles down soon enough, as you start to make yourself back home.

The short rest you had didn’t seem to last you for too long, and you find yourself tired on the way back, hands draped over the cage as the bus rumbles its way through the streets. On impulse you check your phone – a couple of missed messages from Carrie, asking about what had happened, and that Jean had said that she’d met up with you, and wanted to know if you were ok. It warms your heart and worries you at the same time, about that kind of behaviour, as you text her that you were on your way back. Was she really worrying about you that much?

You find out soon enough as you find waiting outside your house.

“Tell me all about it inside, ok?” Carrie asks, gesturing. Looking at the rabbit oddly, as you came in and slumped on the sofa, setting the small cage down on the table.

The explanation seems to go across to her better than you, and she hugs you in worry as you told her about how you’d fallen asleep in the nightmare.

There’s silence at the end of it, as she digests the information. Her eyes straying to the rabbit, which was the one thing you hadn’t really explained – not that you knew why exactly you had it yourself.

“So-“

A loud buzz stops her mid sentence, and you snatch up your phone. A call from… Jean?
“Michael? This is you, yes? Atropos wanted to make a house call, if that’s ok?” You assent, puzzled –

And there is a crack of displacing air from the kitchen, enough to startle Carrie with a jump, enough for her to look around for something to use as a bludgeon, and for you to glance nervously at the door.

From the kitchen, he came. Wispy, white hair, faded dark robes with symbols inscribed upon it. Craggy, lined face wizened by years. Pushed in a wheelchair by Jean, leaning back in it as his gaze took in Carrie and you together.

Atropos, magi.

Breaker Quest, session end.
