Breakfast at a Denny's rolls by smoothly. Everyone save for Eshe is glad to be back in civilization. Though Eshe tries to gravitate the topic to what comes next. Either moving on or going to Church Sunday.

“We need to progress here. We run short on time for this.” She says as she puts a whole silver dollar pancake in her mouth, slathered in blueberry syrup.

The Diner's rather empty with how early to rise you all are, and your section today is actually pretty much devoid of other customers. While the hostess eyed you all warily, she didn't protest all that much to your isolated seating. Outside it's another hot and dry summer day with the aurora flowing through the sky as it has been for the past year.

“I just don't see why it needs to be a church. That doesn't seem right to me. I thought this was all about fighting the government and freeing ourselves. Why do we need to hurt people in the middle of a service?” Aerin scowls at you from across the table for a moment before she fixes her face by throwing back some water and sating herself with a couple slices of bacon.

You raise a hand, shaking your head slowly,”Hey, hey. We'll need to awaken others eventually as followers. Why not get some practice? They'll thank us for it anyway once they realize how incredible it is.”

Aerin points a finger at you like a dagger, gearing up to say something before Eshe's stare drives her to silence, and rightfully sinking back into her spot in the booth.

You clam up as the waitress comes by to check up on all of you, refill water, ask if you need anything else. She's got a pretty face. A little button nose, thin lips made fuller by lipstick and a warm personality for her profession along with silky hair tied into a ponytail that falls over her shoulder.

You can't help but smile a bit. Might not be so bad if you could awaken a chick with better tits than Aerin to follow you around. You're just about getting sick of her mouth contradicting you at every turn.
The Waitress walks away looking a little spooked.

“Dude.”

“Dibs.” He smiles, his eyes chasing the waitress's ass.
Aerin groans at the testosterone at the table,”So, what Asher was talking about. Awakening. How do we do it?”

Eshe explains through the rest of breakfast how the Followers do it.
“First. You show them something that they cannot believe. Something that shakes their understanding of the world.
Second. You must begin taking something from them and assure them that it will happen if they do not stop you. Their life is the best choice for this. Most people value their own lives.
If they pray to god, whichever one that they do, you must let them know that god will not save them.
When these conditions are met the person may awaken.”

Helia bites at her lip, sinking a bit in her seat. “So even if we do that... They still might not awaken?”

“It is why we have casualties. Those that do not awaken are mourned by us. It is known that there is so much potential within a person. It is our own failure if we do not draw it out.”

“That's pretty heavy...” Hot Rod lowers his head with his tongue in his cheek. Kid doesn't really know what more to say.

“So we risk their lives and they still might not be able to save themselves...” Aerin grits her teeth, avoiding Eshe's stoic and baleful glare.

“We do what we must for the good of all people. That is the conviction we must have.”

What you were before awakening influences your magic. Asher was a student that really liked mythology, and that got him summoning.
The spending the LIMIT point to learn from Faraji got retconned.

You casually walk in behind her after casting a glance to your table. Aerin looks a bit pissed, but she's the only one. The five of you won't be able to come back after this.

You push through the door as the door comes back from Fara's force and immediately start running water from the sinks, drawing it onto the floor for use at your leisure.

Her eyes relay a primal fear, like a doe in the headlights.
“I'm sorry if it seems like I lied to you.” You run the water again, this time washing your hands as you look at her in the mirror with your one eye. “I don't just commune with spirits. I also control water. You see, it suits me. A force of destruction and creation depending on its mood.” You shut the water off and stride over to her with hard rubber splashing against the wet tiles. You bought good boots for if you had to walk across a desert again.

Squatting down beside her versus kneeling and getting yourself needlessly wet, you motion for one of her hands to be forced up in her watery bonds and placed in your own even as she tries to claw your flesh with her nails. You adjust your hand over her palm with the other upon the wrist.
“This is going to hurt, and I'm going to have to ask you to stop me or you are going to die.” You lean over, peeking at her nametag. “Cassie.” You smile, and gently caress her hand as you stare into her eyes.

As she stares back into yours with helpless tears beading up within you begin. Magic is poured into her skin, and you heat the moisture to the point of steaming, forcing little bubbles to pop up along her hand.
Her back arches forcefully, beating her head against the wall as a scream is muffled by Fara's watery hand.
Cassie's hand trembles in both fear and pain and you begin speaking whether she can hear you right now or not.

“Shut up Fara!” You yell and cast your hand out, targetting her as you dig into the boiling aspect of your powers. You killed her this way once, you can kill her again.

“Oh Asher! You get me so very HOT!” The banshee laughs at your attempt even as you see parts of her form slip away into vapors. Just not quite quickly enough.
“Oh Asher, will you boil me away into nothing, or will I gut this pretty body you seem so keen on?” Fara's Frozen claw traces itself over Cassie's midsection, the back and across the young woman's supple flesh.

“Helia, stop her!” At your word, the woman drives forward in her frozen full armor, returning fire of her own ice-bolts with an eerily similar composition.
The banshee whips and winds around, removing its claw from the waitress's abdomen and giving Helia an extended lash that's blocked by the frozen armor, knocking Helia into the stalls.
“Fara, you're disobeying me. I command you to stop this before you hurt me.” You increase the channeled power, further destabilizing her aqueous form. Spitting at the ground, in disgust you abandon that strategy and switch to exploding steam at her form while mixing in that hardening spell to slow down her movements.

Fara gasps in pain as her form is further harmed by your attack, yet she continues to stare at you, unwilling to harm you. Unable to harm you.
“Asher, Asher... So cruel. This is the man that's killed me twice before...” Her voice distorts, her mask opening with a maw of frozen teeth that she spews at Helia,”... And his bitch that I cleaved the intestines from. How is that eating for you? Vile bitch of flesh?” Fara's speech and form distort more and more into a monstrous apparition before your very eyes.
By the time Helia's launched more frozen bolts at her, Fara's donned provacative proportions with wickedly sharp spikes and fangs dehumanizing all her other parts.

“Am I beautiful Asher? Do you think I'm beautiful now?” A frosted glass eye stares at you with impunity as she thrusts out a bladed talon of ice in an attempt to shear off that armor.

With a deep breath, you take advantage of Helia's initiative and summon up all the uncontested waters in the room as a scalding steam. Your nerves burning only dully still as you realize that even now you've improved.

“Shut up! You know nothing about me! I'll tear that stupid look off of your face! I am strong, I am strong!” Helia screams as she rips and tears in her frozen armor, separating and dividing a laughing spectre that continues to mock her.

“Fara, as you have disobeyed me I must burn you once again. Boil, scald, fester and burn, in this pain there's a lesson learned!”

You converge the steam into a scalding oven, condensing it into place as in the peak of it, your nerves feel like a hot iron. The wraith writhes within, her ice boiled away, her water distorted and punched through.

You feel her ever so weakly as a single eye and hand materialize before you, reaching out.
“I just.... wanted to be... loved again...” A single tear is shed from the apparition, likely the same tear that you'd used as a medium to summon her once before.
You look to her with a certain sullen expression before you motion to the crucified woman with a dip of your head. “Can you... Get her down?”

Helia looks and then nods before setting to work as you stare at the tear.

For the last two weeks she'd shared similar brainspace. She'd saved your life and you just kept stringing her along.

Honestly, I'd say if we want more reasonable summons we grab them from Mythos. Thoughtforms can branch in odd directions as shown by Fara. Mythos summons are established and more predictable as long as you choose reasonably well.

Though it actually may have gone better with Fara if we flirted with her earlier.
