Last time on Avatar Pilot Quest, you managed to get home from the ruins where you located your personal Avatar and a strange black book you assume is called The Codex. You fled from a crazed female Avatar Pilot in a burning spell-caster type Avatar. Returning home you spoke with your Mother and Great Unlce have embarked on a quest to Light Needle, one of the last intact Old Empire towers in the entire world, to discover what the hell is going on. Your Avatar, which you have named Deus Sinistram, is cleaned up, properly named, and now armed with a pair of light weight makeshift Jitte. They will serve for now, though perhaps not for as long as you would like. You are now ready to leave town with your Great Uncle, a retired adventurer turned village medicine man and archivist who seems to know something about the strange locked black book you now possess, and maybe even the people pursuing you from the ruins.

You head out at the crack of dawn with your Great Uncle. He is riding a tall black and brown riding Stork, a long legged bird with clipped wings to keep it from flying off. It's almost as tall as your avatar once it's neck is fully extended. The reins grasp around it's throat to prevent it from eating anything too big (which is why they're also used for fishing and hunting, they eat smaller prey and larger prey are caught in the throat and spat back up whole).

Your Great Uncle has packed light, but you have about a month's worth of rations between the two of you, which will likely be supplemented by hunting and gathering along the long road to Light Needle.

The crowds of the village see you off, your mother included, giving you a final brief hug.

Is there anything you want to do before you climb into your avatar and head off on your quest? Or anything you want to talk to your uncle about on the road as you travel? It's about a 3 day trip to the nearest village between you and Light Needle.
>>
>>30619021
Ask him about his contacts in the city.
>>
>>30619240
You say your farewells and begin to move out with your Great Uncle. You wonder if you'll have to talk through the voice piece of Deus, but as you move, and will it, the front piece of your Avatar remains open, letting you see and speak normally rather than through Deus. It's about ten minutes out before you begin talking to him.

"Great Uncle, who are these people we're going to see in Light Needle?"

"People I met while adventuring, and kept in contact with as best I could after I retired. They are scholars and archaeologists, and all of them divine magic users like myself."

He rides a little a head of you, turned on his Riding Stork so he can speak to you directly. "They're friends... and hopefully they can be trusted to answer us truthfully about your Codex. We have 4 villages we'll need to pass through before we get there though, if they still exist. Our neighbors should at the very least, that village is guarded by an Avatar and possess some other defenses, it's why the road between our village and their is so safe compared to other routes."

Keep forgeting to put up the picture of your avatar.
>>
>>30619522
While we walk, try to get as familiar as possible with our avatar. By that I mean check for possible hidden functions or parts in it's form.

It's completely possible deus has an ace in the hole we don't know about yet.
>>
>>30619672
You spend the next few hours of walking trying to activate hidden functions in your Avatar. It's almost evening before you get something!

A pair of little rings about the size of your closed fist slide out at about waist level on the inside of your avatar's chest cavity. You have absolutely no clue what they could do.

It's evening now. You can go to bed, talk with your Great Uncle, go hunting for food to spare your rations, or use your Avatar to keep moving through the night by carrying both your Great Uncle and his Riding Stork (though you can't keep up such activity indefinitely)
>>
>>30619886
Is the area relatively safe? if so let's hunt some game.
>>
>>30619886
>go to bed
>>
>>30619985
It's as safe as any part of the forest that's more than an hour out from a village. That said, being by a road, it's probably okay. And if it isn't, maybe you'll find something to kill that'll give Deus more powers?
>>
>>30620071
Then let's hunt
>>
>>30620099
>>30619985
You head out to hunt, your Avatar moving with surprising silence as you enter the underbrush. It moves as if it were an extension of your body, taking into it the knowledge of the few times you left to help your father hunt in the forests still within view of the village. It's not as quiet as you would have been outside of it, but it's a little disturbing how quiet something so large can be.

You come across a pack of strange boar like creatures in a clearing about 10 minutes away from the road, separated by a large out cropping of rock and a sunk into the earth lower. Apparently the road is raised up from this section of the forest, on a rise or levee or something.

The boars look fairly odd. Their hair is very thin, and almost looks like it's been shaped into scales or plates. Their trotters are covered under a dress of them, and their noses have long flaps on either side of them. Their eyes likewise are mostly obscured. The smallest of them is about half the size of your Avatar, the largest is as big as the Rotmonger you slew.

The trees and grass are also odd around this area. You've never been this far away from the village before, even the Ruins were closer. The grass is all stringy and light, matting the ground and not standing up at all. All of the trees are raised up on their roots making cage like formations under their trunks.

How do you want to go about this?

You release your insect spell, causing 6 glowing bug creatures to appear and rush the herd. They work together to begin driving the herd off, separating out the biggest and strongest member of the herd, a massive, scarred hair-platted boar, from the group.

As they cut and harry, it seems that the plates on the boars are not actually all that protective! They're thick, and hard to cut through, but a sharp blade easily stops them.

The Pigs try to gore some of your bugs, but after it becomes apparent that one or two stabs of their tusks don't seem to even slow down the ghostly summoned creatures, they decide to run.

As this goes on, you charge the largest boar in the entire area. A towering monster 3 stories tall that squeals in rage and fear, turning on your teal glowing Avatar with small piggy eyes as it realizes it's been separated from the herd. It can't run, not into the biting mandibles of the bugs, but it can charge you. It does so immediately. It has no support, and your bugs might even be able to assist you given how the herd is on the run.

You also notice something very odd. The creature's have very odd hoves with large splayed toes. Between each hoof-toe, is webbing like a duck's foot.

How do you react? (roll needed)

You take your great sword and slam it into the ground hilt first, holding it there and bracing your Avatar against the charge. Your beetles are called back, and begin to harrass it, so that it has to slow itself slightly but not enough to avoid the blade.

It crashes into your blade with a terrible crashing noise, your sword driving deep into it's body. Unforuntately, there are no tines on the sides of the blade to keep it from running itself straight down onto it and into you. The tusks smash into your Avatar, hurling you back and leaving your blade imbedded almost all the way down to the base of the hilt. The only way to pull it out now is straight back, or to rip it out with brute strength!

Either way, the creature is bleeding heavily, and is obviously not long for this world. But from the gleam in it's eyes, it seems fully intent on taking you with it.

In the distance you hear a strange rumbling noise.

With your beetles still harrying and distracting it. You charge, pulling your Jitte from where they hang on your Avatar to stab into the eyes of the beast as you jump over it. Your free hand gripping it's platted fur and holding on for deal life.

The rumbling continues to grow louder as your massive left hand reaches down, gripping the hilt of your sword, ripping out and up. slicing out of the side of the beast as it screams in pain and rage, then falls to the ground, gouts of blood flying across the clearing as it's massive heart pumps out it's life blood.

You notice though that the ground is getting damper... and little rivulets of water are starting to form on the ground and mix with the blood.

You still have your six summoned bugs, but your Avatar is once against trying to activate it's absorbtion ability. If you allow it to work before you cut off some meat, it'll turn the entire creature to dust, but you don't know how long it'll wait before giving up on Absorbing the beast... not to mention that rumbling is getting louder by the moment.

Your two absorption arms go to work immediately, wrapping the main body in a web of spell-script wraps before the entire world slows down and your Avatar's painful voice speaks into your mind.

"I bore of beasts and animals my Priest. Next time, give me a thinking challenge. Quarry such as this is not worthy of those who hunt gods."

Images once again form in your mind, along with intent and meaning.
>You can gain water mobility. Your Avatar's hands will be able to extend webbing, and fins will be able to be extended from the legs and feet and arms, allowing your Avatar to move and breath under water.
>Your Avatar will grow hunched, and capable of merging it's two right hands into a single arm, a pair of tusks will grow from the shoulders and up to the head, giving your Avatar a powerful charge attack when it runs on all fours.

You FEEL your Avatar grow Stronger. Deus Sinistram can now seriously take a hit. Even when your body can no longer take the damage and allow Deus to regenerate, your Avatar will continue to operate long after it should have stopped functioning.

As you awaken from the trance like state, and the world begins to operate fully, you find grab the intact boar leg and the rest of the boar turns to dust. Directly infront of you, through the trees, you can see a massive wave of roiling, white water crashing through the roots of the high trees. Thankfully you're not to far from the road. If you run, you should just beable to get to the high ground before that wall of water overwhelms you.

Though it certainly doesn't help your nerves to see bobbing and riding on the crest of those waves is a very angry looking herd of boar like creatures...

As you run, you say to Deus, "Even the gods were once nothing but brutes and beasts Deus, if they stand in my path I will strike them down until we find a foe worthy of our brains and brawn. Each victory only makes us better, never forget that simple fact."

A feeling of grudging acceptance of this fact is sent back to you, but it's obvious that Deus really wants a challenging fight.

You manage to get back to the road by the time the wave hits. Your uncle looks at you startled. "I take it that's dinner? What the hell happen-" there's a crash of water and a fine mist sprays over the entire area, lightly drenching him and his Stork, though his stork hardly seems to mind.

The pigs don't follow you up onto the raised road, though you can see them bobbing and bouncing out between the canopy of lower trees, munching at the leaves. They give your camp a wide berth. This road seems to have been built on some sort of levee, since the opposite side of it is, from what you can tell, dry, even as water laps right up to the edges of the road.

You manage to cook the massive haunch of meat and preserve it easily enough, your Avatar giving you the leverage you need to tear it into smaller pieces and the strength to carry it.

It'll be a few more days until you can reach the next town. What do you want to spend them doing? You can try to practice your spells or fighting arts to improve them, you can talk with your Uncle and maybe learn more about Deus or Avatars or the world around you in general, or we can jump a head to the next village. Unless there's something you want to do right now tonight?

Have uncle help if possible
>>
>>30622394
The bugs have come in handy, but i think we should pick only a couple since we have a limited amount of time.
>>
>>30622304
He examines them carefully. "There's no spell-script, and absolutely nothing special about the material. It's like whoever built these just put them there to have them... there as it were... but that makes no sense."

>>30622394
"I've never heard of such a thing, and while I was adventuring, I never read of such a thing either. None of my friends have told me of an Avatar who absorbs the powers of its fallen foes either. You have something unique, that's all I know." Is his response when you fully explain the avatar. You both work to try and get him a clearer look at the straps inside of the two smaller right arms, but it becomes obvious that without a worthy foe to kill, you simply can't get a proper look at the straps. Your Great Uncle copies what portions he can read himself and sets about trying to decipher them.

As you travel, you throughly test the capabilities of your Avatar. It isn't the fastest Avatar you or your Great Uncle know of, but it can turn as decent a turn of speed as a tireless, 17' tall human made of an unknown metal can. It can lift about half again as much as it weights you figure, though you're not sure, Garmaniz was much stronger than it, but then, Garmaniz had 5 arms on it and nothing else going for it.

Your work with your spells turns far more obvious fruit than all of your other training. While you can't summon MORE bugs, you can change how POWERFUL you make each individual bug by reducing the number you summon now. The fewer summoned, the more powerful they are, but this only increases their toughness, speed, and bite strength, they don't gain any additional abilities or intelligence.

>cont.
>>
>>30622763
By midday on the third day, you come to the village... it is not what you were expecting. There is nothing there but a burnt out wreck. Water mixes with the wreckage, and there are bodies EVERYWHERE, most of them seem to have been untouched, though they have minor burns, and many of them have had their hair burnt from their bodies but no other injuries.

Your Great Uncle seems to sit stunned. "But... how? This place was well defended, it sat on a minor ruin, but..." he points at what looks like a pile of burnt rubble, sand, and bits of rock. Nothing suggests there was anything every constructed there except small twisted metal rods poking up from the rubble. "The temple at the center has been... obliterated... Selena... be careful, remain in the Avatar..."

There is no sign of this having been a recent thing. There is no smoke or ashes, and most of the bodies have undergone rigor-mortis or even begun to swell and bloat in the water as rot sets in.
>>
>>30622806
Well, this sucks. Looks like we will have to try to avoid the burning avatar for a while if she can do that.
>>
>>30623041
You're not sure it's the Burning Avatar. There's no other routes here except through the Forests, if she took a roundabout route, it should have taken her more time, not less.

That said, it's feasible that she managed it if she force marched her way here rather than resting and training like you did as you moved.
>>

>>30623248

Deus seems MORE than eager to fight whatever did this. It WANTS that power, and that challenge. It's actually vibrating against you, wanting to go hunting through the ruins, to seek out whatever did this. He doesn't directly speak to you however. You just feel that empathetic link.

When you actually go scouting, you find little of value that wasn't destroyed. There are bits and pieces of divine magic, but they have been thorougly smashed.... in fact, as you look around, you find that by far, the areas of most destruction lie wherever there was some kind of divine magic device or artefact. From the defensive turrets that once sat on the walls, to the temple and it's outlying structures. It appears someone went out of their way to eradicate everything related to divine magic in this place. The anciliary is that there's almost nothing of value left in the ruins. the food is spoiled from being left out in the open, and anything valuable has been melted, burnt, or buried below the rubble if it wasn't taken, though there is no obvious theft.

From back where you left your uncle, you hear a sudden cry. "FOUL WARLOCK! IT IS YOU WHO HAS DESECRATED THIS PLACE IS IT NOT?! THEN IT LIES WITH I! EL LOCO HALCON TO END YOUR REIGN OF TERROR!" This is followed by a tremendous crash, as if from a large stone body striking the ground at speed.

You swing around the corner of a large ruined building that had been blocking your view. Your weapons at the ready, Deus Sinistram eager for the fray!

Your Uncle is unharmed, though covered in a light layer of mud and dust from the explosion of what appears to be an Avatar much like yours, but more humanoid in shape, and far bulkier. His Avatar is obviously painted. with yellow, green, and purple dyes, with streamers. The head of the Avatar is covered in a leather mask that has been stylizing to give it a falcon's beak.

The Avatar is now picking itself up.

"Calm down you psycho! That's my Uncle! We should be the ones asking YOU what happened here! It was a wreck when we first arrived!"

The Avatar picks itself up, leaking tiny streams of divine essence from it's joints as it's eyes turn towards you. It seems to burn with an inner fire. "AHAH! ANOTHER HONORABLE COMBATANT OF THE RING THAT IS LIFE! I came here and found this man amongst the ruins! So obviously the work of warlocks, and I assumed he must be one himself, for who ventures by themselves in this wilderness except for Pilots and Warlocks ehn?" He stands ready for combat. "I have journied far to visit the great arena above the sea, into this land of chaos and barbarism. Tell me your name and your business here! Or face me now with this ruin as our ring of honor!"

He pauses for a moment, and then his Avatar bows it's head slightly. "You are right Seniorita, I have been most rude. I am El Loco Halcon, that is my name and the name of my Avatar, as is the tradition of my people, far to the east of here. We become one with our Avatars, and bear their mask as our own face, never removing it unless we find ourselves defeated in an honor duel or in death. I cam here to find my way to the Arena above the sea, and to test myself in this barbaric land as I bring justice to the people here!"

He doesn't exit his fighting stance however. "You too are a warrior, perhaps you seek to test yourself in the great arena as well? It lies beyond Light's Needle, suspended on a bridge above the sea between continents."

He looks around, "If what you say is true Seniorita, and you are new to here as well. Perhaps we should put aside our quarrel until we discover what has happened here, and then we can settle any insult given or taken by my actions in an honorable duel afterwards?"

Info first, Duel later? Sounds smart, in case we run into anything while investigating.

"I had planned to do just that before you almost body slammed an old man, but you're right working together to solve the greater problem is best...for now. Sorry for the wait guys. My Boss gave me a call and told me he was sponsoring me to go to GDC (Game Developer's Conference) this year when I thought I'd have to miss it, so yeah. Had to look up plane tickets and stuff. I'm writing now though.

"Sounds like a plan, but look, you need to apologize to my Uncle if I'm to get Deus Sinistram, my Avatar, to back down on trying to fight you."

He nods, and opens up his avatar. A burly man dressed and masked much like his Avatar is, only without a shirt, steps out and bows to your Great Uncle. "I apologize for the misunderstanding and attempting to crush you." He nods, and climbs out of his Avatar.

"Seniorita, if you can take that part of the village" he points to one of the more heavily flooded parts where you avatar will easily be able to stay above the water line, "I'll take a closer look at that part!" he points over to a wrecked area too cluttered for easy navigation by someone in an Avatar.

As you wade through the area, you find a strange weapon, it looks like a trident, but it only has two tines, and both of them are spiral shaped. When you try to pick it up with your Avatar, sparks flow from both spiral, corkscrew shaped tines. The sparks mostly miss your Avatar, but where they hit, it causes not you, but Deus EXTREME pain. Your Avatar drops the weapon before you can even order it, which shouldn't be possible. Black crack marks scitter out from where the sparks landed on your Avatar's skin, and you can feel that they run right down into the divine magics that make Deus function. They are healing, but at a snails pace. It'll take days for such wounds to heal, and will require a steady flow of Divine Essence from you to repair themselves.

You manage to pull it out using rocks and bits of debris until it's able to be picked up by someone without wading into chest high water.

You then call your uncle over.

"Wha... I've only heard of these..." he taps it, nothing happens. He then pulls out a bit of broken divine magic, and drops it between the spirals. The sparks emit once more, and within moments the divine magic is broken down into broken bits of rock and sand.

"This is a Divine Key.... it's used to break down Divine Magic and eradicate it's existence... I've only heard of them being used by madmen, and no one seems to know where they come from."

>>30625205
They're refering to the Lance of Longinius from NeoGenisis Evangelion. I completely forgot about where the image came from in my head and now I know. My brain sometimes does that. I tend to be much more heavy handed in my references.
>>
>>30625258
put the corkscrew on the tines, not below them and that's correct.
>>
>>30625269
Ask him if there's a way for us to use it effectively. Maybe wrapping a cloth around the handle.
>>
>>30625269
"Is there any way we could wield it?"
>>
>>30625269
A polearm actually might be effective to use in our right hands. If we use both hands it will be more stable.
>>
>>30625306
>>30625297
"I doubt it would be a good idea. For one, it's far too small." he points to how it's large for a human, but still far too small for an Avatar to wield. (sorry, should have made that clear). "Secondly, it reacts badly with any from of Divine Magic, such as you Avatar, it's unlikely you could wield it while avoiding the sparks. You'd just harm, even destroy Deus Sinistram that way."
>>
>>30625386
Sounds like it could be extremely useful if we're ever in a position where we're facing an avatar but can't get to our avatar. We should wrap it up tight though.
>>
>>30625269
not something to be casually discarded i'd think. let's wrap this puppy up, load it on the stork and search for more goodies.
>>
>>30625471
even if we dont use it, which actually might be the smart idea, We should at least make sure not to just leave it where anyone can get to it, it seems ludicrously dangerous.

Your uncle nods and brings it back to his stork, very carefully wrapping it in rags and spare cloth and keeping it on the side opposite of where he stores his materials.

On the other side of the town you hear a shout. "Seniore! Siniorita! Quickly, over here, there is someone still alive! I don't know for how long though!"

How do you want to approach this?
>>
>>30625633
move into visual range and scope the scene, have uncle prepare any medicine or healing he can provide. we need answers
>>
>>30625633
Rush over there.
>>
>>30625693
>>30625700
You rush over there, shouting to your great uncle "get the medical supplies and meet us over there Uncle!"
As you run, making the ground shake under Deus, you hear a scream and a crunching noise, then a cloud of dust. You manage to see El Loco Halcon moving a large fallen pillar off of a boy, probably not even 14 years old. The child is covered in blood from wounds, and like almost every corpse in the town, has his hair burnt to a crisp on his head. Even from this distance you can see the whites of his eyes as he shakes and convulses from the pain of being removed from the rubble.
>>
>>30625873
"Don't move him! Uncle has healing for the burns but he may have crushed bone. Bring water and any cloth that isn't dirty or rotten"
>>
>>30625873
Ask him what his name is and what happened here. Keep him talking until our uncle comes over.
>>
>>30625904
>>30625908
"Don't move him! Uncle has healing for the burns but he may have crushed bones. Bring water and any cloth that isn't dirty or rotten" you call out, slipping out of your Avatar to run up to the young man. El Loco Halcon leaves him where he is and runs to get your uncle and help him carry anything he'll need.

The boy is barely coherent. Gasping and his eyes rolled up with the pain. "What happened, it's alright, it's over, we're here to help."

"Lightning Gods... it was... a Lightning God... it came from the sky." he says, his face contorted with pain and fatigue. "It came, with soldiers of sparks and flames, they wore a bleeding heart on their chests..." he manages to look at you for the first time, it's like looking into the face of someone who has been through hell, his face drawn, aged beyond his years with fear and pain. "It struck us, and they took their spears to our temple, to our Avatar... Gibalac fell apart and his pilot, Michael, my friend Michael," he's in tears now, sobbing, and trying to grasp at you, "he fell out, and the lightning god, it struck him again and again, and then... then... it laughed... laughed as it kept striking him... there wasn't even ash left." By this time your Great Uncle has gotten there and pushes you away gently to get a better look at the lad, who falls back against the ground, eyes rolled up again before they shut, his mouth moving as he jibbers about the lightning god and his bleeding heart soldiers.
>>
>>30626374
"Looks like we were both wrong, whatever this Lightning God is clearly wasn't a warlock or bandits. Those spears are no joke, they destroy any Divine Magic they meet and I've never heard of any group with a bleeding heart insignia..... We might need to reschedule that duel"
>>
>>30626374
Nothing we can do for him further. If he survives maybe Halcon can take him to the city. We're still being pursued.
>>
we need to try and figure out which direction they left in, they could have long since pasted us.

>>30626492

"Wait, what direction did they go in?"

He's unable to answer though, and before you can insist, your Great Uncle puts a finger up for silence. You retreat with El Loco Halcon, who under his mask is looking troubled. "Have you heard of these men with bleeding hearts?" He asks, "They sound like mad men in my home country... though they wear no such insignia themselves there, but this..." he waves at the destruction, "is very similar... though they hate warlocks as much as anyone, and let souls pass on rather than siphoning them for power..." He doesn't look comfortable talking about it.

Search the ruins again. Maybe we can find some more clues.
>>
>>30626605
"I don't mean to pry, but how did you get here from the east? It could be a similar group trying to spread its reach, or this "lightning god"could be from there"
>>
"Did you see anything on your side? We've never had problems with this sort of thing around here, even with the odd ruins people would have noticed this sort of thing."
>>
>>30626619
>>30626669
You walk with Halcon searching the ruins more thoroughly.
"I don't mean to pry, but how did you get here from the east? It could be a similar group trying to spread its reach, or this "lightning god"could be from there"

"I carved my ways through the wilds Seniorita, I took some roads, but mostly I visited villages cut off and cleared out monster nests on the way here. It was training Seniorita!" he says with a smile. "Though as for this Lightning God, I have never heard of such a being from my lands. If it is an Avatar, well, we favor honorable physical fighters, not spell casters or ability users." He nods, "As for the people here? Well... there are madmen... they speak of true gods, beings the Old Empire bound to power, well, everything. They say they hope to free their gods, and they do it by destroying anything and everything related to the old empire they come into contact with."

The pair of you searching find nothing else though. Whoever came here left none of their own dead, if indeed any of them died, and left almost no evidence of their own passage except for the destruction they wrought. That spear was the only evidence they had even been here.
>>
>>30626758
Ask him if he'll take care of the boy. We can't really have someone slowing us down.
>>
>>30626758
"What of the boy? If he survives the night he'll never survive without getting to a village or city."
>>
>>30626818
>>30626789
You turn to Halcon, saying "What of the boy? If he survives the night he'll never survive without getting to a village or city."

"If he survives, I will take him with me on my Journey. I can protect him even in the wilds, or get him to a nearby village, at his choice. Can you suggest any? I was going to keep going to Light Needle and from there to the Arena above the Sea, but if you can suggest a place nearby where he would be taken care of?" he cocks his head to one side.
>>
>>30626866
"Hmm, my village is far and we've got enough trouble in the area already.... the next village would be a couple days travel towards the needle."
>>
>>30626866
Depending on how bad his injuries are his best bet might be the light needle.
>>
>>30626927
>>30626978
"My own village is not far off, you could take him there perhaps? But he might have a better chance of surviving in Light Needle. I don't know. If he does survive, I don't know anyone will take care of him there though."

Halcon nods, "It is a conundrum to be sure Seniorita, but first he must survive.... I hope that he does. No one deserves to die that young."

Anything you guys want to do before I continue on? Or should we skip ahead to that night?

You spend the intervening hours talking with Halcon about what life is like in the far east. The land is dry as a bone, or filled with tall, jungle encrusted mountains. The people there live off a a golden grain called maize, or corn (you've seen it from foreign traders a few times). They apparently have far closer knitted comunities than here, with two or three villages within a days journey of each other at most, and vast distances between these village clusters. The ways between each village are closely guarded by masked warriors who give up their names and former identities to become one with their Avatars. They also settle disputes between settlements and clusters.

Apparently El Loco Halcon came to this land (which he thinks of as rather barbaric all things considered. They've never even heard of Grand-Bull Fighting! Which is like Bullfighting in our universe, except Grand Bulls are 5 stories tall and the bull fighters are in Avatars).

Apparently they treat their avatars in a much more cavalier fashion there, they might have an easier time crafting Avatar parts there for some reason, though Halcon doesn't know too much about this.

As night begins to fall though, you hear foot steps, many foot steps coming from far down the road leading to Light Needle. When you and Halcon go to look at what it is, you see a group of men in uniforms, and with them is a banner bearing a bleeding heart.

>Chapter 5 End.

I'll run the next game on wednesday, starting around 7:00pm CST.

sorry, didn't finish.

Apparently El Loco Halcon came to this land (which he thinks of as rather barbaric all things considered. They've never even heard of Grand-Bull Fighting! Which is like Bullfighting in our universe, except Grand Bulls are 5 stories tall and the bull fighters are in Avatars) because he heard of the Grand Arena, which was suspended over the sea between 5 continents and 5 towers, where the greatest fighters in the world gathered year round to test their prowess! He has come to Light Needle for it was the closest to his homeland.
