Greetings, /tg/.I wish to run a Civ Thread with a slight twist. Let us commence. And suddenly, you were. You're sure you weren't before.Yet here you are, all with skills gained without practice, adults without childhood. You are capable of bending reality itself with your collective willpower. You all lack a body, though. You all form the one that comes most natural to the group.Upon completion, you look at each other and yourselves. You are:>Humans, creative and adaptive.>Elves, magical and graceful.>Dwarves, unyielding and strong.>Other (Specify. Anything is possible, but evil races, Demons especially, wouldn't make a lot of sense.)This intro is just to tell the story of the Universe's creation and to make some decisions on the creation and starting build of your Civ and isn't going to be that influential, race aside.(My phone says the full Civ chart is too large, other half coming up.)
>>30547597>Humans, creative and adaptive.
>>30547629 >>30547650>>30547683>>30547731Humans - 2Dwarves - 1Dragons - 1 (Not sure how to run that, but I'll give it a shot if the votes decide so.)Humans are in the lead, definitive votecount when I finally find the other half.
Finally found it, and Humans it is.Tad useless since race has just been determined, but fuck it.As you realize you must band together to thrive and utilize the collective willpower, you decide upon a government. You choose:>A King. One man is not in conflict, and unification is key.>A Democracy. All people are important and must be represented.>A Theocracy. You accidentally create a Deity, through sheer force of will, and upon discovering it worship it, with its priests guiding the group. (Create the Deity).>Other (Please specify)
Rolled 3, 45 = 48>>30547804why not cyclopses? nobody likes cyclopses...
>>30548042>Other (Please specify)Communism
>>30548042A Theocracy under the bitter and harsh God of Labor.
Oh, before I forget, pick your Versatility bonus perk.
Rolled 73, 13 = 86>>30548091hess this. i wanna see where this goes
Versatility perk in mining.
>>30548042Theocracy, Goddess of Humanity, all non-human races are not fit to bear the gift of freedom.Extra perk: Accelerated tech growth
Rolled 97, 89 = 186>>30548124farming! get hammered and sickled son! no but for real though, we need to feed our people...
>>30548091We must. For the motherland, son.
>>30548042>COMMUNISM>>30548124perk: high morale
Theocracy! For the glory of the creator!
Theocracy, perk in tech.
Communism and perk is farming.
>>30548091>>30548134>>30548156Okay, cool, but you are required to speak with an Internet-Russian accent, komrads. You decide that, as all men are equal, each should take care of all.You produce goods according to skills and take according to needs, ensuring a decent life for all.(Tell me if this is not communism, I've got this from Wikipedia as I'm not that great at specifics of political systems.)You now realize that you are in nothing, and decide to bend the universe to your will, so that you may have a place to stay. You form huge city in which to dwell, surrounded by:>Forest, with a ready supply of lumber and lots of food.>Plains, easy to build and farm on.>Mountains, with stone and minerals.>Other (Please Specify).
>>30548343>>30548343Forest. Must have bears.
>>30548343Definitely winter forest.
Rolled 14, 66 = 80>>30548343other: Highlands (think rocky plains)
>>30548371>>30548380>>30548390So, that's like an eternal winter pine forest? Okay. You create a place of tall pine trees and eternal snow, in which to live.>When the Civ itself starts, Humans now have Minor Cold Resistance.Content, you look back and wonder if you did everything well.>Humans>Communism>Farming (Perk) >Winter Forest>Do you wish to change anything?
>>30548541>>Farming (Perk)I'm confident that tech had more votes.
Rolled 31, 46 = 77>>30548541nyet>captcha: artillery...hmm foreshadowing much?
>>30548541For mother Russia.
>>30548541It is perfect, comrade. For the Revolution!
>>30548618Out of curiosity, are we going for real Marxist style communism, or more of a Stalinist approach?
Also, listen to this for added immersion http://8tracks.com/cle333/splendour-of-an-ideal
>>30548668Trotskyism all the way. International permanent revolution.
>>30548573Oops, I'll fix that, my bad.You live and thrive for ages, although your ability to manipulate the universe weakened with the generations, devolving into Magic. Then they came. You're not sure where they came from, but they arrived and devastated your city.>Pick a race to be your arch enemy.Twenty-five of your race, the current patronage of the Golden Goat inn, have miraculously not been attacked yet.>Pick skills for the humans.>What do you do?>Run!>Hide!>Other (Specify, but fighting will be nigh on suicide).
>>30548748Nemesis Race: Capitalist humans
>>30548748nemesis race: Orcs, like how the picture says we have an orc intolerance.
>>30548748Filthy imperialist elves.
Rolled 43, 41 = 84>>30548748nemesis: machines. did we create them, did we bring this on ourselves? it matters little now.action: Run!: we retreat now, regroup. buy additional time so that we may one day return and reclaim whats rightfully ours! scorched earth policy. we hold the line when the time is right and push the metal menace back into the abyss!
>>30548748BatmanFuck it classic orcs.If we have magic, Go out and help all the people we can get the hell out of here.
>>30548748As far as skills, all labor based, farming, mining, and a few craftsmen (blacksmiths, woodworkers, etc)
Rolled 10, 49 = 59>>30548866very authentic komrade, good thinking!
It's the filthy capitalists! As none of you can fight and the city's surrounded, you duck into the secret cellar of the tavern, built to hide expensive, but empty at the moment.Miraculously, you are left alone. When you emerge, the city is in ruins. You look around, but the enemy is nowhere to be seen. You poke around in the rubble a bit, and find something useful! You find:>Ten swords and ten sets of leather armour on dead soldiers.>A bunch of tools and some seeds, in a destroyed collective warehouse.>A bunch of scrolls, instructions on how to cast a lowtier spell of your choice, found in the razed wizard's tower.>A set of scrolls, instructions on a lowtier technology of your choice, found near the Inventor's guildhall.>Other (Specify)
>>30548983>A bunch of tools and some seeds, in a destroyed collective warehouse.Well will rebuild the mother land.
>>30548983Technology: Farming.Spell: Increase fertility. Works for land and people. We must man the Red Army and the Motherland must feed it.
Rolled 93, 60 = 153>>30548983start from scratch, our proud people have come to far to let this break our will. rebuild buildings and plant farm
>>30548983>A bunch of tools and some seeds, in a destroyed collective warehouse.
>>30548983Tools/seeds is the most obvious, but boring, how about:Other - A statue representing the united working force in order to life the spirits and unite in common purpose behind (non religiously of course).
>>30548983>otherA small pile of mysterious stones that seem to radiate power, one makes you dizzy when you hold it, another makes others feel a strange compulsion to listen to the reader (essentially super low level artifact rocks).
>>30549032I mean either one of these.
Rolled 8, 60 = 68>>30549085agreed
Draw between either the Tech or Magic and Tools/Seeds.Anyone changing vote or shall we roll for it?
>>30549121Magic and Tools/seeds
>>30549032>>30549069>>30549119Sorry, Clay posted when I did.Tech or Magic?
>>30548983>lowtier techObviously we need basic woodworking tech. Trap making via wood working.
>>30549151I say tech.
Rolled 2, 97 = 99>>30549151tech
>>30549151Tech, magic is the tool of wizards and fascists
>>30549151Tech, magic is for capitalists.

Very well, you get farming tech.Whilst you debate on whether to stay here or depart to pastures new and what to do, I'll stat you.Don't forget to reverse engineer your tools!
>>30549297Let's depart, too dangerous to stay.
>>30549297Move to a new land, this place has been tainted by the touch of the capitalists. Gather our supplies and set out from here.
>>30549299This is the Motherland and we will not abandon it.
>>30549297Let's stay here
>>30549332We will not give ground to those pigs.Rebuild for the glory of our people.
>>30549367Fair point, I will switch my vote
>CIVILIZATION STATS:>Noteworthy Characters: None>Population: 25>Population Increase: 2 People/3 Turns>Tech: Farming>Magic: None>Stockpile: Tools - Medium>Tapped Resources: None>Untapped Resources: None>Military: None>Armoury: Nothing
>>30549382>>30549382Commence immediate training of 10 comrades in basic combat. The remaining 15 are to work the land and feed the children of Lenin.
>>30549382>>30549423Seconded, but set two apart to figure out how to develop more tools
So, we've set the stage. I must go now, but I shall return tomorrow, at around 13:00 GMT +1.For the Motherland, comrades.Of course, if anyone wants to try, feel free to take over. I honestly planned on setting the story and continuing tomorrow, but everyone's having so much fun it seems dickish to cut it off.
Rolled 33, 41 = 74>>30549455he's got the right idea
>>30549473Please never do that again.Don't make a thread if you're not gonna run in it.
>>30549473Я буду ждать вашего возвращения товарища
>>30549473It's been great so far.
Archived.http://suptg.thisisnotatrueending.com/archive/30547597/I didn't say I'm not gonna run it, I'm setting the stage now and will continue tomorrow.
>>30549473Bye op looking forward to it.Also I will be making part 6 of the Island Orc Civ roughly by the same time as Mr.Anon will make his one. We are yet to finish the first task The One From The Deeps gave us.
>>30549562Can't wait for that either!
>>30549527Ya wtf. Leave yourself at least a few hours.
>>30549554How do i archive threads
Debating on running civ I've been working on a bit earlier because none are going on right now.But wakfu has x2 exp weekend.Doushiooo
>>30549861The civ, please.
>>30549997https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jTCkuHc__ZQ[happening intensifies]go go Russia
>>30549861>Not DofusScrubCiv pls
>>30550114Dofus is low budget Wakfu.I happen to have money.I want to build the map first.
>>30550322>Dofus is low budget Wakfu.Them fighting words you faggot
>>30550422Disregarding that one is free and one is subscription, Wakfu has better animations and quality. And our Ecaflips are cuter.Technically they are also different mechanically.
Make that around 15:00- my friend just told me a meeting was scheduled without my knowledge, sorry.
>>30550506Aren't they both subscription based ? I haven't played those two in such a long time...Fuck you now I wanna re install them.
>>30550711Apparently it is sub based as well. I can thank my friends for that information then. What do you play?
>>30550812Xelor, before they started nerfing the shit out of them... againNever got into wakfu much, was still in beta when I stopped playing.
>>30550929Does it have balance issues?I hate trying to get people to play this game with me, because they don't want to pay for it, don't want to level a bunch before the better parts of the game come into play, and then they may not even like it at that point.
>>30551110>Does it have balance issues? When I left dofus was nothing but a giant ball of balance issues. They kept changing classes entirely and it never seemed to work out. It's always hard to get peeps to play MMOs, that and Ankama only seem to develop grindfests
>>30551281Huh. Well. There's a couple classes that have the short end of the stick, and the two solo grind kings got hit by the nerf bat recently, but I don't think Wakfu has any glaring problems with it.If nothing else, I'd like summon osa's to have an easier time early on, because all the cool low level monsters are locked from use, yet for some fucking reason you are allowed to have a Black Wabbit or an Okushu (shushu) at level 100, and then buff the fuck out of them.
>>30551411God dammit. Fine. I'll install it. Serv ?Are summons the least bit useful at high level ? I remember no one using them because they made combats last far too long;
>>30551582I'm not Nox. I am planned to try the SEA server, Because its free and in english, I don't fucking understand why, but I have no idea what the community is like, and community in wakfu is kinda important.Considering this dragon osa in my guild is doing superb damage using a single summon in place of dragon form, I'd say they are pretty damn good. Only issue is that summons are stupid, you CAN control one of them at least though, but they love to run over the difficult area tiles for no reason, and also leave enemies alive in favor of attacking a different one.On the other hand, 5 Black Wabbits.
>>30551681>I'm not Nox.Freudian slipped so bad, I derped a whole word. Go me.I'm ON Nox.
>>30551681>community in wakfu is kinda important.Welp, then I'm avoiding the french side like the plague. Is Nox international ? I forgot that game had region locks all over the place.
>>30551890Its NA afaik. I don't know just how different Dofus is, but in wakfu theres a shitload of benefits for being in a guild, which goes in hand with needing at least 3 people to competently level at the standard pace. The ecosystem would also suffer if there wasn't people to replant after greifers go clearcut jungles and such, much like Wakfu Island ironically.I don't really give a fuck for the politics, but its part of the game.
>>30552066That's pretty similar, dofus doesn't have an ecosystem to ravage or replant tho.
