You are Gertrude Pool, Sophomore Class President and new commander of Lafayette Girls Academy’s revived Tankery Team.

You slowly open your eyes, the low ceiling of the bunkbed above you being your lovely view this morning. Damn it, you’re still on the Venture.

What the hell is this tickling feeling on your neck? You slow look over and see Kitten, kissing and gently nibbling on your neck, still apparently asleep. Her arm is wrapped around you and her legs are curled up in her slumber.

D’aw, that’d be so cute if it weren’t so gay.

“Kitten,” you say. No response. “Kitten,” you say a little louder. This time, Kitten opens her eyes slower, moaning a bit. Then her eyes shoot open wide.

“TRUDY-“ She snaps like a mousetrap, immediately hitting her head on the top bunk with a loud clang. She recoils back, holding her head and squealing in pain and misery. “Ow…”

You smirk. “You okay?”

“No.”

With that little episode out of the way and with a new hickey on your neck, it appears time to get ready for the day. Your staff have been awoken by Kitten’s bang into the bunk, a little annoyed but no worse for ware.

You search through your dufflebag. What shall you wear today?

> Casual Clothing (T-Shirt, Cargo shorts)

After a crisp fresh shower in with the rest of your crews, you get yourself dressed for the day. Nothing like a nice casual outfit every now and again. Your crews are in various states of Tankery uniforms, school uniforms, or their own casual outfits that they brought aboard as you now eat breakfast.

“Sorry, Trudy,” as Kitten pokes at her breakfast of slob and grub.

You shrug and say, “Tonight, you’re sleeping with Lisa-“

“No,” says Lisa as she shakes her fork at you. “I’m not sleeping with her.”

You snicker. “Why? Afraid she’ll organize your clothing while you sleep?”

Lisa shifts her eyes a bit. “Maybe. Point is, I’m not waking up with no love-bites.” She looks over at Kitten. “The fuck were you even dreaming about anyway?”

Kitten says, “I don’t know. Well, I can’t really remember. Had something to do with tanks I think.” She shrugs at that.

“So, we have to repair our tanks today.”

“Sure do!” you say. “I read the book on it last night!”

“… so you suddenly know how to repair tanks just because you read a book-“

“Look, just roll with it, Lisa,” you say. “Anyway, shouldn’t be too difficult. Might need to cannibalize for some parts. Otherwise, we should be dandy.”

Nancy nods. “Well, we will be glad to help, President!”

“Thank you very much, Nancy,” you say as you slurp up the last of your unidentifiable breakfast, then stand up. “Right then, let’s get on with it!”

> Work on the Tanks

You shiver a bit as you stand on the deck. The cold sea air is cruel and unforgiving on your short sleeves and short cargo shorts. Whatever, the energy from working on your tanks will keep you warm.

So first things first.

The Panther’s damaged along with the T-34, the Stuart, and the Hellcat. It’s mostly fixable but you might need to replace some parts as well. You can figure all that stuff out later, so you decide to work on the superficial damage.

“Ramirez, tools.”

Ramirez slides on over with a huge toolbox. You take it and pull out a wrench, a welding mask, and a welding tool. Time to get to work.

You start on the Panther first, getting to work on repairing the dent caused by that 17 Pounder’s shot to its frontal glacis plate. It’s simple enough as long as you keep the book handy for reference.

We don't know what we'll get in the shop next week. We could wishlist the Sherman, but then we'll have to wait longer for whatever new crew we get to be move from the Chi-Ha they'll practice in. Tanks take a week to be delivered, so I want to place the order before Tuesday.

Besides, do you think we'll find something better? A Sherman's a solid purchase we know, and the last few weeks have been total duds.

>>30547919
> Work on the Tanks
We can cannibalize the Panzer if we need to.
>>
> Work on the Tanks

Next up is the T-34. Another huge dent from where the 17 Pounder not only hit it, but also apparently set off an engine fire. Thankfully, despite a lot of burns, nothing seemed to need replacement. Though you suppose Mr. Mishka can work on replacing the superficially burned parts out when you return to LGA.

You wipe some grease off your gloves, getting a bit onto your shirt. That’s going to stain, damn it.

Kitten kneels down next to you as you check the T-34’s suspension. “Can I help with anything?”

Kitten nods and quickly runs off, skirt billowing in the breeze. After a few minutes, she returns with the Aces and a few Naval Studies students. You direct them to help fix up the Stuart tank and the Hellcat.

Kitten bends down next to you. “So,” you say. “This is the T-34’s suspension.”

Kitten nods. “Cool, I’ve heard of Christie suspension.”

Joanna bends down next to you. “Christie suspension’s pretty cool. Really helps tanks attain top speed, not exactly good for actual maneuvering though.”

Kate bends down in between you and Kitten. “That’s why Torsion bar suspension is the all rage, strong, heavy, and effective, way more than Christie.”

Wendy leans over you, glaring. “Yeah, Christie is a piece of shit suspension.”

To bring up the shop again, if we sell the 6pdr or 75mm, we could afford (I think) to both buy a vintage tank and turn the chassis into an M4A4 this week. We could then Comp Spec next week and the whole thing would be handled quickly and efficiently.

I know those guns could be useful for saving money later, but I think the money could be better used now. We're not even sure what we're going to use them for right now.

> Work on the Tanks

You all stand around the engine block of the Hellcat as Wendy gets covered in grease trying to save what’s left of the engine. Kitten is knelt down next to her, closely examining her actions. As it turns out, the Hellcat’s engine has burned the hell down. Lots of little things have to be outright replaced, if not the entire thing. Otherwise, the tank is pretty much fine.

You ask, “How does a tank like this just burn like that?”

Kate shrugs. “Probably hit the rear just right. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a frontal hit though. Hellcat armor is stupidly thin, even Japanese tanks wouldn’t have trouble penetrating it.”

You nod. “That’s a thing to consider I suppose.”

“Yep!” says Joanna. “Still, Hellcats are awesome! I wish this had come around when we came aboard, we could’ve totally-“

“How about no, Joanna,” says Wendy, wiping her forehead and staining it with oil. “I would prefer the Chi-Ha over this butter bar of a tank destroyer.”

Joanna rolls her eyes. “Fucking typical, Wendy.”

“Of course,” says Kate. She looks over at you. “Speaking of which, Gertrude. I was wondering, why did you make Luciano an officer?”

Joanna says, “Yeah! Seems kind of like… I dunno. A bad idea?”

You say, “Luciano’s a good kid at heart I reckon! I think she’s got fine potential to be a great Officer if we groom her into the position!” You smile at that. “She shows initiative, she’s got spunk, that’s leadership material!”

Joanna furrows her brow. “Doesn’t mean she’s a good leader.”

Kate says, “I can agree with Gertrude, part of being a leader is initiative, Joanna.” She continues with, “She’s still shit at reading a map though.”

You shrug. “Teach her then. I’m busy with this stuff. You’d make a fine teacher, Kate.”

“Oh, I wouldn’t say that,” says Kate. “Wendy’s more of the teaching kind of person.”

You look at Wendy, confused. “Really?”

Wendy shrugs. “I may seem like a jerk-“

You say, “Wendy. Maybe you should try your hand at teaching. You might learn how to be patient.”

Wendy scoffs. “I can be patient whenever I want to be.”

“Oh? Were you patient that one time with Kate when she-“ Joanna is shut up by a punch to the arm.

“I thought we swore never to talk about that again,” says Wendy. Joanna rolls her eyes at that. Wendy looks back at you and says, “Fine, I’ll teach Luciano how to do map reading, shouldn’t be too difficult.”

You nod, smiling. “Thanks, Wendy.” Suddenly, there’s quite the commotion on deck. People are rushing to one side of the ship, excitedly chatting and yelling about something. You all look around to see what’s what. Then you see it coming on the Horizon, low to the water, engines whirring.

“It’s a PBY Catalina!” yells Marina.

The Catalina scrapes the waterline, water splashing into the air as it slows down next to the Venture. The engines idle a bit as Naval Studies Students start running about, getting ropes to pull the Catalina closer.

Once the process is complete, a trio of very dirty looking and exhausted Naval Studies merchant kid comes aboard. “Are you Pool?”

You nod. “That’s me.”

She hands you a parcel wrapped in brown paper. “Package for you. Some other stuff will be brought up to you in a bit.” With that, the student falls over, completely tired. You look at the others.

“We’ll split it, Kitten.”

With that, you break into the cookie two pieces, Kitten putting her hands out to catch the crumbs. She licks them out of the palm of her hands, then you offer her a piece, the biggest one unconsciously.

With that, the two of you dig in and savor the tingling sweetness of the frosting and doughy goodness of Garnett Pool’s cooking. You love your Dad for a lot of reasons, but one of them, and indeed most of it, is because of his cooking skill. The man has a way with his fingers.

You exhale. That was great.

Kitten says, “You know, those were probably the last cookies Thanksgiving at least.”

You nod sadly. “I know.”

> Work on the Tanks

You help Wendy get the tracklinks for the Stuart back together. The shot that had disabled their tank ended up going right through their suspension and pretty much ate the idler wheel which had to be replaced. Thankfully, the Catalina had arrived with some spare parts as well, and you were able to replace the wheel without too much trouble.

What was giving you more trouble was how heavy the treads were.

“Don’t be such a baby,” you say as you hold the tracklink in place for her. She hammers it in with the rest of the links.

You say as you exert your strength into holding the link into place, “Easy for you to say! You’re a loader!”

Wendy shrugs. “I suppose you’re right.” She whacks the link right into place. “Right, that’s all of them.”

You let go of the link, sighing with relief. You look over to see Joanna and Kate welding the new sideskirts onto the KV-85. Looks like you’re pretty much done with the tanks.

Your stomach growls. Just in time for lunch too.

Great, more unidentifiable slob. This tastes like cardboard and plastic compared to your father’s cookies. Still, it’s filling at least. You and your crew talk idly a bit, nothing too noticeable for today.

Wendy walks by the Delinquents table then tugs on Luciano’s collar, pulling her. “Whoa whoa! Where the fuck are we going?” asks Luciano, tray of food still in hand?

“My room,” says Wendy. “I’m going to teach you a few things.”

“Excuse me!?” yells Luciano, the faintest hint of a blush on her ears. “I have no idea-“

“I’m going to teach you how to be a better Officer,” says Wendy as she drags Luciano out of the room. “And you’re going to shut up and listen. Now let’s do this.”

Everyone is quiet for a second, dumbstruck by what happened. Then everyone shrugs and goes back to their meals.

You knock on the door and peek in to the incredibly small room reserved for the Aces. “What’s up, girls?”

Wendy and Luciano sit next to each other on one of the bottom bunks, Wendy has a map on her lap and a pen in one hand. “Hey, Gertrude,” says Wendy. “I’m just showing Luciano the metaphorical ropes when it comes to interpreting a map and locations.”

You nod, sitting down across from them. “Cool! Everything going well so far.”

“No,” says Luciano. “I’m no closer to understanding this bullshit than I was a month ago.”

“That’s because-“ Wendy tugs on her ear, Luciano yelping a bit in pain, “- you’re not listening to me. So listen the fuck up,” she says as she lets go. Luciano glares at her, rubbing her ear. She draws a single dot on the map. “Now, you can read a map simply by just using the general image of it and nothing else. Everything in the environment is a compass of sorts. The sun rises in the east and sets in the west, and you use that for general reference if you’re short a compass.”

Luciano nods. “How the hell is that important?”

“Because, in order to figure out where you are on a map and which direction you’re facing, you need to be able to distinguish landmarks. Stuff like forests, rocks, buildings, that sort of stuff. If you’re stuck in a featureless plain especially, you need to know which direction to go. You understand?”

Luciano shakes her head. “Not really.”

Wendy groans, crumpling the map in her fingers. She looks at you angrily. “You know what I’m talking about, right?”

After a couple of hours, you’re beginning to understand where Wendy is coming from. You sit on the other side of Wendy while Luciano continues to look more lost than a Japanese woman in Paris.

“… and the map is there to help you understand the general environment. Theoretically you don’t need-“

Luciano says, “I don’t need a map then?”

“No, you need a fucking map you sorryass piece of shit,” says Wendy. “The point I’m making is that you need to stop relying on a map for everything and work through your gut feeling and senses. Sure, math will help you definitely, so will learning simple X-Y coordinates as well, but in navigation it’s all up to your basic instinct and sight.”

Luciano sighs. She’ll learn.

“Anyway,” says Wendy. “Are you getting this, Gertrude?”

You nod. “A bit.”

Wendy nods. “Good, good. Finally some progress.”

> + 5 CP

There’s a knock at the door, it’s Joanna. “Hey Gertrude, Hey Wendy. Luciano.”

You nod. “Hey, Joanna. What’s up?”

Joanna grins. “Loaders are having an armwrestle fight, see who’s the strongest. We were hoping Wendy would join in.”

You shake your head. “I gotta pass, sorry. This stuff Wendy’s teaching me is too good.”

Luciano nods. “Yeah, yeah. How about you make like yourself and bolt, Joanna. We’re busy.”

“Well hey,” says Joanna. “Don’t let me stop your lesbian orgy.” The three of you roll eyes at that as Joanna walks away.

Wendy sighs. “Right. Let’s get back to it.”

Luciano asks Wendy, “So is there like a way of finding little shortcuts and stuff like that? Something to help us get somewhere even faster?”

Wendy says, “You’d have to ask either Joanna or Octavia, they’re the ones who handle map duties.”

“Then why am I taking lessons from you?” asks Luciano.

“Because shut up, now listen.”

With that, the two of you continue on in your personal instruction. Luciano starts getting the idea of it in her head, sort of, at least to an extent where she can answer Wendy’s quizzical questions. You on the other hand are getting the hang of it as well.

It’s another hour before Wendy says, “Right, I’m done. I’ve taught all I could.”

Luciano says, “No you haven’t.”

“I’m a loader,” says Wendy. “I have. Now if you excuse me,” she says as she leans back and lies down onto the bed. “I’m going to have a nap.”

Quite the contrary, it’s friendly competition. Yes, learn how to read maps, but don’t kick yourself over it. We’re not trying to win a war, we’re trying to win a tournament.”

Luciano shrugs. “I suppose.”

> Begin the Strategy meeting

“Alright,” says Lisa as she begins the meeting. “Shut up everyone, let’s get through this. Tomorrow’s our match with the venerable Unlimited Tankery Team J. Walter Christie Polytechnical institute. These girls know their shit when it comes to Tankery, probably even more than William Adams ever did. So you do what we say, and we’ll get you through, alright?”

Kitten leans over to whisper, “I think she stole your line.” You shrug.

Lisa turns on the project, showing a map marked with two dots, one blue and one red. “We’re the blue dot and Christie is the red. These will be our starting positions. As you can see, there are no big towns or cities we can readily exploit. It’s very open, a good number of hills, and there are forests nearly everywhere,” says Lisa. “In short, our old advantage of taking towns and bridges is null, which means most likely that we’re going to get into long range sparring fights.”

Kate raises her hand. “So what will the plan be then for defending?”

“Good question,” says Lisa. “We haven’t nailed down any particular good point for hiding our flag tank which might necessitate having to keep a tank back in order to escort it. The thing about Christie is that their roster is so inconsistent that I can’t nail down any wider strategy. We’re pretty much going in blind.” She looks over at you. “Boss?”

You blink, standing out of your chair. “Lisa’s right. There’s an element of surprise that Christie has.”

Lisa nods. “I’ve also been informed that we are doing this match later in the evening, which means we might have a night battle on our hands.” She says, “So, Boss. I’m honestly stumped. How should we approach this?”

Their M3 canal defense and it's fuckhueg spotlight can blind all of us if we're dug in, and one or two of us if we're going slow. It'll have trouble tracking multiple fast moving targets, so that will be our best bet.
>>
>>30551984
KV-85 is the flag tank right?

Keeping in mind that Walter Christie has no real direct firepower, it doesn't need a strong escort, just one that can spot any incoming enemies. Basically, don't let the flag tank get spotted.

Otherwise,

> Cautiously

Leapfrog from cover to cover and surround Perrine. Once the Flag tank is spotted we can charge at it and wipe it out.
>>
>>30552038
Yeah, let's sum it up and go from there.
>>
>>30551984
We don't want them getting lucky with artillery, so we shouldn't stick to easily predictable movements. Also, our tanks are more then a match for theirs in a straight up fight for the most part.

I think we can afford to split into two, maybe three groups and aggressively hunt them down.

We're at a disadvantage defensively because they can just blast us apart with indirect fire.

Cautious may be smartest, play the whole match by ear I think I'm using the phrase right and be mindful of what they can do. Our tanks on avergae outmatch theirs, so there's that. I'm worried rushing in will play to their strengths of adaptability.
>>
>>30552158
Well as Schteel stated, we like taking advantage of towns and bridges. Of which there are Zilch.

If we REALLY want to meta, then our old strategies suggest we would use the highway and just barge a path right at them. In which case they'd have the AA tanks ready to pin us down then bombard us with Arty.

So just avoid the road and don't charge in.

> Aggressively

You say, “Walter Christie doesn’t seem to have a lot of tanks that can take on a sustained assault. We should try and hit them hard and fast, go on the offensive for once.”

Lisa nods. “Sound idea. We’ll split into two wings then. One group will head down the main road towards Christie’s start while another flanks through the fields and forests to get around and possibly surround them.”

Cathy raises her hand. “Who’s going to be going with who?”

“Good question,” says Lisa. “I’d honestly like a more mobile force to go the northern path while our heavy hitters take the road. If they’re smart, they’re going to expect us to come down the road, maybe they’ll even be locked down there. Considering a lot of their tanks don’t really have heavy guns that can penetrate say the King Tiger, we can definitely take them on in that kind of fight.”

“Who’s going to be leading the flanking force?” asks Juliette.

>Kate

Charlotte can head down the road. She can't miss the road.

We'll protect the KV and provide a reserve force.
>>
>>30552282
> Charlotte Luciano
She can be depended on to follow a road.
>>
>>30552282
Send in Luciano is just asking for it.

> You

BUT take Luciano with us. We can teach her while we're driving.
>>
>>30552282

Okay since their unpredictable, we need information.

I suggest we have the Stuart and the Souma go ahead relay any information they can find.

They are to only engage, the Kugilblitz, the Grizzly Sink and the Canel Defense, if they find them.

As for the Agressive front.

The King Tiger, Churchill, and the Sentienel will be the main attack force.

While the Stug, Panther and Sherman will be the Flank.

We can't afford a screw up here. Let's take the reins on this flanking mission.

>>30552352
Awesome idea.

>>30552368
I'd really rather send the Stuart alone and instruct them not to engage at all unless it's extremely opportune.
>>
>>30552368
We will be leading the Flank,

The Scouts (The Souma and the Stuart) while are to only engage those targets if possible,

must be careful of the 20mm since if one of hem is there the other if shortly behind them
>>
>>30552402
The Souma is a Calvary Tank, which is more or less the name as a light tank (Though with a better gun) and Sewing Team are good at shooting.

The flanking tank and the main assult tanks have ranges beyond the 47mm, it is better to have it be part of the scouting team where it can be of better service
>>
>>30552282

Actually, not sure I'm a huge fan of that idea overall.

I'll do up a map diagram thingy.
>>
> You

“I’ll do it,” you say. “It seems like a simple enough task.”

Lisa nods. “Alright then. So the plan then is a simple pincer maneuver, can’t be too hard to do. Might be a little difficult if night falls while we’re doing this, which is likely to happen, but if we keep our heads, we’ll be fine. For scouting duties, I would suggest Team Wojtek-” Janek whoops at that. “Thank you, Janek. And Team Needlepoint. They have some of the smaller tanks which means they’ll be able to swiftly move through the forests without incident, and those hedgerow cutters will be sure to help with any vegetative obstacles in the way.

Cathy asks, “Who’s going to be leading the force down the main road?”

Lisa looks at you. Who?

> Charlotte Luciano

The Tiger 2 needs to be there to assure Perrine that she needs to open fire on the road. If she only spots our weaker tanks then she'll think something is up.
>>

>> Kate Knispel

Lockdown will be effective here,

The Churchill and Sentinel, will go along with her
>>
>>30552555
> Kate Knispel
>>
>>30552609
I don't think Lockdown is at all apropriate this match. We'll be moving forward, not holding positions.

If Far Sight works to pick out targets in the dark then I want Kate and Luciano to have that. We'll keep Blitz.
>>
>>30552669
Fair enough also considering Kate is in the main road an Ambush is expected, so having Kate with Far Sight might be a good idea
>>
>>30552555
> Kate Knispel
I'd prefer Farsight on her. They're gonna be on the highway where at one point, the potential for an ambush is high (the area on the road with forest on both sides).

Does Perrine have any tanks with enough firepower to weaken a highway bridge?
Would the AVRE suffice for that?
>>
>>30552555
The Stuart and Souma (Well more like the Souma) Should attack targets of Opportunity like the canal defense, the Schofield Tank, the sink, and kugelblitz.

can their guns knock out the Su-14-2?
>>
Have we told Kitten we're straight yet? Why does she keep assaulting our neck?
>>
>>30552775
They have an Su-14-2, Matilda II Hedgehog, and the LVT(A)5, might have the apacity to do so if a need for a sustain assult
>>
>>30552775
There's a bridge?

>>30552776
That's not how scouts deal with Arty. Once they spot them they need to stick to them and never let go. Arty will be afraid of hitting their own allies at close range and the scouts are much more maneuverable. Also, any moment the Arty are panicking is a moment they aren't shooting you.

THAT SAID. Perrine is an elite and she can ram our light tanks. So there's risk and reward. I would prefer to stay right next to the Arty but that's just me.

> Kate Knispel

You ask, “Kate. Think you can handle it?”

Kate nods. “You can count on me.”

“Alright,” says Lisa. “With that in mind, the plan will go as follows:

“Gertrude will lead a force consisting of at least four tanks, possibly including our flag tank the KV-85 around the enemy through the hills and forests. Kate will lead another force of tanks, another four, down the main road to directly engage Walter Christie. Meanwhile, Team Wojtek’s and Needlepoint will be scouting around, hunting any stragglers if they can. They’ll punch in between our wings towards the enemy and spot out and mark targets for us.”

You nod. “Alright then. There’s one thing though, this is a ten versus ten match. There are twelve of us in terms of crews, which means-“ Everyone looks a bit nervous. “Which means I’m going to need to leave two of you behind.”

Okay, so here goes:

I'm not a fan of the simple pincer maneuver against WC. I think they're smarter than that to just plow up the road and meet us head on.

They have the town that they can use on their half of the map, and artillery at their disposal, s it would make sense for them to turtle up along Gesallvagen (the red lines) and meet us there.

That almost seems to void the pincer attack. Our pincer then finds itself unable to cut in, and can get shot to pieces by a well entrenched team.

I say we make the plan a lot more flexible. Send the Somua, Hellcat and the Stuart through the forests in between the two pincer movements (Green arrow) and camp the forest overlooking the town (Green circle). They can report back where the main advance/defense is concentrated.

At that point we can co-ordinate the attacks and have the ability to communicate and co-ordinate our reactions.

Perks will be Blitz for us, Farsight for Kate and Rally for Luciano. Giving us further tactical flexibility.
>>
>>30552851
I suggest, the Hellcat and the Panzer IV be left behind.

They still lack experience as crews compared to the rest.

Though I am willing to exchange the Panzer IV for the Churchill or the Stug

but not the Hellcat, the 20mm are too much of a risk

Lotsa eggs in one basket, if they're gonna try to synchronize that shot.

>>30552850
Just in the highway, mind you.

In the pic here, they might either collapse A under our tanks, or collapse B on top of them.

Obvious solution would be to avoid those, since the surrounding area can be traversed anyway,
>>
>>30552851
History Club (Stug3) and Theatre Tech (Hellcat)
>>
>>30552851
Hellcat is obvious. As much as I'd like to bloody our new crews, against a team with HE everywhere it just won't go well.

I'd also nominate the Stug. A casemate tank in open terrain is a really bad idea.

>>30552908
What makes you think we'll turn in for the Pincer there? We just keep going until we correct for the distance. What you're proposing is basically what we're doing.
>>
>>30552908
That's a fair idea sending our scouts down the middle, just we aren't taking the Hellcat and I'm firmly against using Rally. If we keep Blitz, we'll want Luciano to be our eyes and spot hidden enemies for us.
>>
>>30552944
Ah I see.

Eh. Kate is intelligent enough to avoid the bridges. As you said, she'll just rough road it at that bit to avoid the bridges then hop back on the highway.
>>
Hellcat seems locked in. So are we leaving the StuG or the Panzer? I'd rather not have a casemate tank here.
>>
>>30552898
that maybe so, but it seems to be darn easy to take heavy morale hits and so hard to build it back up.
>>
>>30552851
It seems to me the only debate is who do we bring.

the Hellcat is a no go due to the Kugelblitz and the Sink.

So that leaves the StugIII and the Panzer IV

Perks of the Panzer IV: Good Tank, turreted, slightly faster.

Cons: Pretty fresh crew with no combat experience.

Stug III: Experienced crew, and slightly better armor (depending)

Cons: Casemate Tank
>>
>>30552851
> WHO DO YOU LEAVE BEHIND?

>Hellcat and Theater Tech/Machina
>StuG III and History Club/Clio

If we need to pep talk the Girl Scouts, just say that it'll be like a nature hike. But with tanks!
>>
>>30553083
I think chancing it on whether the green crew can perform is too much to wager.

I want to take the StuG.
>>
>>30553083
Personally, I think the Panzer IV would be a good candidate for Kate's decoy/demonstration.

Leave the Stug at home this time around.

Is there anything we can do that will make Kate's demonstration seem larger than just four tanks? Obviously during the day, we could drag logs and make up a bigger cloud of dust. But what about at night?
>>
>>30553120
I forgot to mention that the Panzer IV is equiped with a set of hedgerow cutters as well
>>
>>30553157
We can reequip them easy-peasy, so I'm not sure it was worth mentioning as a pro.
>>
>>30553143
I think the Panzer Iv is more suited for the flanking.

Our Slower but more heavily armed tanks will serve it better like the T-34, the King Tiger, the Sentienel and the Churchill
>>
>>30553143
Why bother? The TIger 2 is already dangerous enough on its own and Perrine knows that.

I actually want to send our weaker tanks with Kate. I know I said we need it to be strong enough to draw fire but if its too strong it'll detract from our flanking force. The TIger 2 in and of itself is nasty enough to justify a lot of incoming firepower.
>>
So from the discussion, I can gather from the discussion the Hellcat is an obvious choice so I'll lock that one in.

For the StuG and the Panzer IV however, which shall you leave behind?

> WHICH SHALL YOU LEAVE BEHIND?
> STUG III
> PANZER IV
>>
>>30553201

I think the formation will be better like this

Trude, Sherman, Kv-85, Panzer IV,and Panther

Kate: Tiger II, Churchill Mark IV, Sentinel ACIV, and the T-34-76
>>
>>30553228
Stug III
>>
>>30553201
>>30553200
Mostly I was thinking that they are a green crew that is likely to be ineffective, and that they would be better off drawing attention than with our flanking force. Better to bring a more experienced crew so that we can make our surprise as effective as possible.

You’ve learned that Black Forest Peak is an otherwise coordinated and well-disciplined school. A product of the Nishizumi dojo to be precise. They’re still inflexible when it comes to unexpected developments or against fast mobile teams. You’re not sure if you can learn much else.

> + 5 CP

You put on your trenchcoat and walk around the deck. The Catalina has already left ages ago. Now it’s just you and the tanks as you take in the chilly salty sea air. Barely on the horizon through low clouds, you can see the coastline of Sweden.

You sigh. You can hear some murmuring. You look over to see Nancy, knelt down next to Cupid, praying.

We made the promise for a reason and that was to prevent undue panic. It won't really matter if the issue's already decided.

And she would need to know beforehand. She seems like a genuinely nice person and would be devastated finding out she was the Devil's tool.

Why don't we just campaign properly - no need for sketchy background bullshit, sneaking around or intimidation.
It's shitty that she took advantage of our absence to drum up her campaign, but chances are we can ride an international tankery victory high to pull favor back in our direction.

You kneel down next to Nancy, your legs iced up by the cold hard floor. Nancy smiles warmly as she turns her eyes to you, then shuts them and continues praying.

“… and please bless our tanks. Let their armor stop short the opposing team’s ammunition, let their guns fire true and penetrate with all good grace, and let them move about the field with all good speed.

“And Lord bless the crews. Let them continue to learn and grow as women. Let them all perform well as you would bid. And please bless our hearts and souls so that we may not fear the day. And please bless Gertrude Pool, give her your grace and steel her resolve.

“God save Lafayette Girls Academy.”

You nod a little at that. “God save Lafayette Girls Academy,” you repeat.

Nancy looks at you, smiling. “Thank you for joining me, Gertrude.”

You shrug. “Wouldn’t hurt. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with a little prayer.”

“Of course,” says Nancy. She rubs her hand on Cupid’s hull. “Come what may, we’ll show Christie what happens when a person’s back is against the wall.” She pats you on the shoulder then walks past you. “Good night, Gertrude.”

“Good night, Nancy.”

It's not sketchy background bullshit, it's not sneaking around, and it's not intimidation.

It's the reality of our situation that she'd have to deal with should she win. Not telling her is like we're playing a child's game with no stakes, we're not taking her seriously and we're not trying our best to win.

Why don't we just campaign properly? We have shit to do, a LOT of shit to do and any drain on our time and money we can avoid is completely to our advantage.

Seriously, do you think she'd be sour at us? That we didn't drop this burden on her head?

I think she's fredendal's pet politician. I think her campaign funding is coming straight out of our class funding, courtesy of the queen bitch. I think fredendal wouldn't leave shit like this up to chance, and has either told her we'd try and get her to bail out by lying about this, or she actually knows and is on her side anyway.
More to the point, trying to get the opposition to privately back out does look sketchy as hell, and would blow up in our face if she's actually against us.

The Nine-year champion has more or less become important to today’s era of Tankery. A few years ago, nobody watched Tankery because it was the always the same team winning, Black Forest was one of them. But nowadays, with Ooarai’s victory, it seems now more and more new teams are getting in on the action.

You take another walk around. The wind chills your bones. You head to the very front of the ship and lean forward on the railing. Tomorrow morning it seems, you’ll be in Sweden, then it’ll be the match with Walter Christie.

“Hey.” You look back to see Kitten, smiling at you, wrapped up in her Tankery Trenchcoat like yours. “Thought I’d find you out here.”

You shrug. “Hey, Kitten. Doing alright?”

She walks next to you and shrugs. “Oh, I’m doing great, Gertrude. Going into this match with Christie after all, it’s a hell of a thing.”

“Well,” you say. “Yeah.”

“Question is, are you doing alright?”

I think we should take a break from Tankery Practice for Tuesday. Near back to back tank battles surely isn't doing wonders for us and our crews.
Focus on school related stuff (election mostly), as well as Loyalty missions during that time.

You grin. “Of course, Kitten! Why, I’m just fit as a fiddle, we’re all prepped and ready for Christie! Everything’s coming up Lafayette-“

“Your hand’s shaking.”

You look down. Your right hand really is shaking. “It’s cold.”

Kitten takes your shaking hand, and it calms down in good time, warming to her touch. “Don’t worry, Trudy. I’m here for you, every step of the way. Yeah?”

You nod. “Yeah. But we’ll win this, I promise you.”

Kitten smiles, stepping around and leaning back into your chest. You wrap your arms around her, leaning your head on her shoulder. The two of you bask in each other’s warmth, the night sea air has nothing on you two now. Kitten says, “I don’t need a promise from you, I know you’ll do it.”

You blush a little, then kiss her on the cheek. The two of you enjoy the view as the Venture comes towards Sweden. “You really know how to make me all hot and bothered, Kitten.”

Kitten shrugs. “You do the same to me.”

“Yeah.”

I don't want to step on toes and ask for something outrageous, but since WC isn't a crew designation of ours, I think it would be best if you deviated from the format you use a bit.

I was thinking, uh, make it colourful and right orky by adding red/yellow checkerboxes somewhere. Something like that to make it stand out as different.

I don't know, I don't think it's that.

Let's just list it down:
Regularly sleep with Kitten even though we have separate rooms.
"DEM TITS"
Moments like these.

The real point is if she reacts in the same way as in the pic.
>>
>>30556164
So one of them is straight?

Also the reason we sleep with Kittain is that /Tg/ compels her to do so.

Again nothing wrong with that but normally German is slightly more subtle then that.

That line kind of killed it for me a little.
>>
>>30556206
Maybe? They won't know unless they decide to try!
>>
>>30556306
.....What?
>>
Once we beat WC.

You think it's in good taste to ask her to upgrade the Souma and Churchill?
>>
>>30556557
I suppose we could but priority should be finding another 3 teams. And the tanks they need.

I can also predict that we'll want a full set of engines. So that's 45k right there.
>>
>>30556619
Well I think we only need one extra tank.

We won't be fighting for a bit, so I think it's okay to ask.
>>
>>30556619
Also it's free, (at least the Churchill)

so it won't cost us much.

I don't think we could outfit all of them with improved engines at least not yet anyway.
>>
>>30556715
So which tanks do we prioritize giving new engines to? I want all the heavies done before we even touch the Hellcat and Stuart.
>>
>>30556774
I agree, the Churchill should be first in my opinion.

Then the Tiger II, their the slowest of our tanks
>>
What do you guys think we want to wishlist? The shop probably won't be as good next week. How about the Sherman?
>>
>>30556983
I'm okay with the Sherman. We can turn it into a Firefly

We can turn the Chassis into a Jackson
>>
>>30556557
Sell the S35, it's not a good tank wjen facing late war tanks amd as a scout it's slow.

In regards to how the sqiads should be set up, I would let tjem operate independent of each other which means assigning an equal.number of Heavies, Mediums, and Light tanks. That way squads are more flexible wjen it comes to dealimg with different threats.
>>
>>30557186
Wouldn't the S-40 be an improvement then, also I rather not sell a tank when we're still understaffed

the Sau-40? Is that even useful?

While I understand your concerns with the S-35, but considering we need twenty tanks at least, and we only have a little over half, I don't think we can afford to.

Also what about the Sarl 42?

Is it legal?
>>
>>30557388
If we need another casemate, i'd rather have German design than french. Sau-40 won't have much chance against late-war tanks.

I admit i don't have any idea for our S35, the best i can say is find other medium.

ARL 42 turret? IDK if it even produced, but blueprint must be exist somehow.

....sorry, i forget it have puny gun like M3 lee. Blame WoT for that. Still, considering team Needlepoint only have 3 crews.... handling all of the gun will taxed them greatly.

SAU-40 seems do produced before fall of france, though only prototype have 75mm gun, other only get 47mm (wikipedia source).

Now abnout ARL42 turret, let see if Schteel want to use it on this quest.
>>

We might WC support for that, for either the Sau-40 or the SARL 42.

Either or is fine for later.
>>

I'd rather improve our overall lineup with new tanks than waste money on upgrading a tank we haven't had trouble with.

WC is willing to upgrade our Churchill for free, I was wondering if they can do the same for the S-35 or at least for a cheap price.
