>Introduction & Summary:

You are Katja Hartkern, a former Disciple of the Kyokugenryuu style of "Full-Conttact" Karate and a woman who's training to compete in the upcoming Martial Arts Extravaganza "The King of Fighters: Infinite Match" (Making your belated debut in the storied tournament at 30 Years old)...

Though right now, you're mainly wondering what you want to do with the rest of your night, as while everything had checked out with your acupuncture specialist Dr. Lee Pai Long (Meaning that your Ki was FINALLY stable enough to use at will wioth no ill side-effects), you were advised NOT to fight OR train for at least a day due to reciving a small concussion earlier in the day from sparring with Terry Bogard & "Blue Mary" Ryan...

(Edit: From now on until the start of "The Infinite Match", there will be NO MALUS ROLLS. AT ALL; The chaos and disorder they bring to the table outweigh the element of "Randomness" they offer.)

>B. Time-Skip to later that night and go on a "Dream Sequence" as Kaja, waking up on 5/19.

>C. Time-Skip to 5/19 and play through the day as Katja Hartkern.

>D. Assume the role of...? and play through the rest of the current day. (Vote for a possible "Side-Story" with the character of your choice)

>Updates now Begin

>You are now in direct control of Katja Hartkern's Pysche

You rode home after the acupuncture session and had a quiet night to yourself, getting lucky and checking out a few matches that Fiona Graves & Tsuyako Horikawa did for the Southtown Wrestling Federation on your lap-top as well as studying other fighters that had videos up (Most of them being the female protion of the KoF's roster, Mai Shiranui having the lion's share of videos you could find) before going off to sleep at just past midnight, forcing yourself to stay awake for an extra hour just in case your mind hadn't fully recovered from yourconcussion and hoping for the best as you drift off to sleep...

>The Dream Sequence Now Begins
>New Thread Theme: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hsn1nKYKtEw

You open your eyes and see yourself trudging through a vast jungle, hacking away at the local floura to try and cut your path through to a large temple out in the distance... After an age of traversing increasingly-difficult terrain, you find a small lagoon at the mouth of a waterall and decide to stop for a rest, though a part of you wants to keep pressing on towards the temple after spotting an older, shirtless man with Blonde Hair sitting underneath the waterfall, deep in meditation.

>A. Ingore the guy doing his meditation and stop to see if the water's fresh... It's not like he'll attack you if you get too close, right?

>B. Take a small rest and get back on the hike to the temple; If the scars on this guy's body are anything to go by, it looks like he'd be at peace kicking your ass...

Slow today... Also going to have to commute soon; This'll bethe last update before I leave my house.

You walk up to the mouth of the lagoon as quietly as you can and squat down near the edge, cupping a handfull of water and splashing it on your face to get the muck and grime off of it, then take another handfull to taste and find that it's deliciously refreshing in a way that only the cleanest springwater could be...

You slowly fill up your empty canteen at your side, seeing that you're wearing a pair of Brown Cargo Shorts and a rather tight Aquamarine Tank-Top that leaves VERY little to the imagination, as it seems almost formed onto your chest... Which is when you look up and see the man that was sitting on the rock underneath the waterfall stand up and open his eyes, his red, skirt-like piece of clothing flutting a little in the breeze as he leaps over to the edged of the lagoon in a single bound, startling you as you quickly get up and assume a defensive fighting stance.

"How did you get here?" the man asks in a deep voice, his years of a hard life eveident in his speech.

"Err... I just sort of started walking out to that Temple-lookin' place over yonder" you reply, then point out to the direction you think the temple might be in.

The man looks at you for a moment, a steeely glare in his icy blue eyes that makes you wonder if the Grim Reaper himself was staring back at you, then replies "Very well... Now please leave this place at once; I want to spend some time alone with my thoughts and you're intruding on them."

>A. Accept his demand and get going; You DON'T want to piss this guy off...

>B. Stand your ground and tell him he's got no right to claim this lagoon as his own, possibly fighting him if it comes to blows...

>C. Ask him exactly WHY you can't stay here for a little longer; You hadn't intruded on him and were only taking a quick rest stop to fill up your canteeen...

>D. Something Else (Write-In Vote)

"Look... I'm having a break, mate. Keep your thinking to yourself and I'll keep mine" you reply as you crouch down and fill up your canteen a little bit more, the older gentleman in front of you fuming to an extent as dark storm clouds start to form in the sky, slowly blotting out the sun...

"Ma'am, You're tresspassing on my home; I would advise you to leave now before I decide to show you Hades' depths."

You look up at this guy after hearing that and rise up off the ground, vaguely wondering if this is supposed to be Andy Bogard as an older man as you glare at him, not quite sure how to respond as you can feel a welcome, familiar energy in the air...

>A Fight this asshole and show him your true strength.

You keep eyeing this man up and hook your canteen up around your belt-buckle, the sky darkening and a oddly-cool wind picking up as you wordlessly reply by switching to your "Combat-ready"

"Going up against me takes guts... Unfortunately for you, I only like guts with catsup" he jests as he hops back, then switches to a serious tone of voice as he adds "I'll give you 10 seconds... Enough time for one last prayer to your god", letting his arms hang low and his palms open as the two of you stare each other down, the far-off sounds of lightning and thunder signalling the start of your battle...

You hop back and away from him as he launches a blade-like projectile from his hands, only just missing it as it brushes near your skin, noting that he can't seem to move after it... You use that as a way to get in, knocking him back with a Hien Shippu Kyaku, though he cancels out of his block to smash you in the face with a forearm...

Except you don't really feel like you took any damage from it, though he runs towards you, "Pops" you up into the air and then knocks you down with a shorter, less powerful variant of the "Blade" projectile he had used to start it off with.

You roll away from him and only just manage to duck his spinning kick, "Stuffing" him with a Kohou that leaves an impressive-looking trail of electricity, though he doesn't seem to mind and launches another projectile, this one kocking you back quite aways away as you decide NOT to roll out of it, taking your time to get up as he laughs at you, his booming voice echoing around the waterfall for some reason...

"Come on, I'm allowing you to fight ME. Make it interesting, will you?!" he asks as he launches yet another projectile at you, though this one seems to travel along the ground like Terry Bogard's as you hop back into action jumping over it and blocking his follow-up jumping kick and hitting him with a Ha'oh Raijinken the moment you hit the ground, knocking him back and away from you as he rolls out of it...

You rush towards him and use the "Raijin Lightning Rush" to try and hit while he "Recovery Rolls", though you aren't quite fast enough to do that as he instead grab your fist, kicks you in the gut and throws you over his shoulder and into the ground, the attack vaguely resembling an Akido Throw as he hops back tries to open some space between the two of you with a another projectile, though you roll past it and block his rather-nasty three hit follow-up attack, knocking him out of the third hit with a well placed Kohou, then jumping up into the air to try and smack with with an outstretched Hard Kick...

Though unfortunatey for you, he blocks it and catches your outstretched foot and slams you into the ground yet again, this hit really taking it out of you as he backs away and tauntingly tells you "I'm sending you to hell after this's all over... And since I won't be there, you can rest easy, right?"

You slowly stagger up and look at him, a deathly glare in your eyes as you think to yourself "I'm not lettin' this tugger get me; Not now, not ever..."

You get back up and dust your shoulders off, your opponent uncharecteristically advancing towards you wih another three-hit combination of attacks which you defend against and knock him out of it with a VERY fast Ha'oh Raijinken for OK Damage, though he seems a little stunned after getting hit by that...

You follow it up with a "Thrust Punch" and combine that with a Kohou, though you sail over his head as he pushes back with another forearm, thankfully missing you entirely as you fall and only JUST block his DM: A large, Claw-Shaped wall of Blue Energy, hearing him yell "RAISIIIING STOOOORM!!!" as he performs it...

You feel your energy rise up and "Power-Up", countering his attack with the "Tried & True" Ryuuko Ranbuu, launching him off into the lagoon on your last, Super-Sized Ha'oh Raijinken and nearly collapsing afater putting so much energy into the attack...

No catsup here" before you take a sip from your canteen and head back through the jungle, hacking and cleaving your way through the thick underbrush as you try to blaze a trail to the temple off in the distance, feeling compelled to get there before nightfall...

Eventually, after several hair-raising jumps and acrobatic climbs that you STILL can't remember how you made and landed, you arrive at the entrance to the temple, the sun starting to law low in the horizon line and the temple itself looking creepy as all hell... Though, you can see a few lights on in some of the darker areas, suggesting that it's not completely deserted.

You stop for a brief moment and take off the backpack you had been wearing (Apparently, as you didn't feel it on your body until you had noticed the straps on shoulders) and do a quick check of your inventory...

And wonder how in the hell you had even managed to stand upright, as you saw several types of healing items (From small herbs and pastes to full-on First-Aid kits used by NATO Worldwide), weapons of several types (Up to and including a Double-Barreled Shotgun, a Machete, an Underwater Rifle, A Sniper Rifle and a pair of Berretta 92F-M9 Pistols) as well as a napsack containing various fruits and vegetables, all in a backpack that looked almost hilariously tiny when you first looked at it and opened it up...

"Blood 'Ell" you say in amazement as you stuff everything back in, the sun starting to truly set and nightfall just on the horizon, grabbing your gear and heading inside the temple and down a ruined, spiralling staircase made of stone, confident that you'll find... Well, something, you gander as you successfully leap over a gap in the steps that most gymnasts would shudder at...

After a few more harrowing leaps, you feel as though you hit solid ground and spot a few dimly-lit chambers, torches on the walls illuminating three possible entrances (Though the main one seems to be locked) and a lonely one off to your right, just begging you to take it and explore this mysterious place...

You instinctively go off to the right and find yourself in a room so dark and massive that even your light can't seem to illuminate it aside from a step ahead of you, quietly tip-toing your way through the vast chamber and wondering "What in god's name is that STENCH!? And that noise..." as you see a small doorway off to your right and go through it, leading to a much more well-lit area as you look around, spotting the White Half of the symbol off into the distance on a pedestal, but also noting that there are several holes in the walls and floors...

You look around for a little bit, wondering if there could be another way up to the altar that holds one half of the key you'll need to open the door and get to the bottom of this temple... When you spot what looks like a small ledge behind you, leading up to a raised section that you didn't notice before.

You hop onto the ledge fairly quickly, but the second jump up to the raised part is much more difficult, though you manage to finally get up to there after 6, maybe 7 tries, scraping your chest up and over the ledge to the top and flailing your legs around for a few seconds as you try to get up there...

You then crawl a little to get a safe distance away from the ledge before you stand up, surveying the scenery and spotting several hanging ropes from the ceiling, though you worry that they might not be able to hold your weight for no longer than the amount of time that you might need to use them for...

>A. Make like Tarzan and swingfrom vine-to-vine, hoping and praying that you don't fall or get skewered by the possible spikes or arrows in the holes on the floor... (Roll 3d100 for Speed, Dexterity and Luck that the various ropes will hold)

>B. Hop back down to the ground and try to run up to the altar as fast as you can, dodging whatever kind of traps that are set along the way (Roll 2d100 for Speed & Evasion)

>C. Survey the floorplan and think your way through trying to navigate the traps in the floor and lower walls... Maybe you could slowly try to set off each trap without actually falling into them? (Roll 2d100 for Perception & Evasion)

>D. End the Dream Sequence and wake up on 5/19 as Katja Hartkern.

You do a few quick stretches and start to think about how to get to and off of each vine before they break, getting a head start before you make a "Leap of Faith" off of your ledge and grab a hold of an old, moss-covered rope that had been hanging out in front of you a ways away...

You feel that the rope could collapse at any second and quickly use your body weight to swing down to the next one, flying through the air like a pro as you fly through the air with greatest of ease from rope-to-rope until you grab onto the very last one, which is actually a vine that breaks the moment you grab it, though you manage to make it down to the altar containing the white half of the door key...

You take a few breaths to slow yourself down and try to control your heartbeat as you calmly stand up and quietly approach the altar itself, eyeing the probably-prieceless jewel that sit on the pedastal in the center of it as a part of you just wants to grab it and run, but don't know what that'll do as far as triggering traps are concerned...?

>A. Grab the key and Run, Run and run some more! You aren't gonna let a stone ball or spikes or even arrows kill you in your own dream now, are you? (Roll 1d100 for Speed)

>B. Take a few secondsto check if the pedestal's weighted, or pressure sensitive or something; If it is, maybe you could find something in your inventory that's about the right size & weight of the key to replace it up on the pedestal? (Roll 1d100 for a Perception Check)

>You now resume direct control of Katja Hartkern's mind

You look through your backpack (Which has now morphed into a knapsack, of all things) and dig around for a few minutes, trying to find something that might be the same size and weight of the Yang symbol in front of you (As you suspect that it's made of Pearl with a small Obsidian Inlayed into it)...

You produce a chunk of a golden-like metal and carefully, calmly grab it and switch the two objects places, nothing seemingly happenining as you quickly put the first half of the key into your knapsack and slowly walk back down the Altar's steps, idly wondering how anti-climactic it had been... When you hear a loud rumble shake the foundation of the entire ruin, sounding a bit like a piece of heavy machinery starting as you start to run, noting that the holes in the floor seem to be wave after wave of spikes and tuncheons...

>A. RUN. Just run and try to get through the barrage of spikes as quickly as you can (Roll 2d100 for Speed & Evasion)

Honestly, this seems like best choice... Besides, we could go fast enough to probably dodge all of the traps
>>
>>30501582
>>30501721

The sound of the rumbling and the shaking of the ruins prompts you to start running, your heart racing as you try to dodge the spikes that start to pop up out of the floor in an odd pattern (One "Wave" to the left, two to the right, one on the left wall, two to the right wall and then a repeat in reverse order)...

To your credit, you manage to get through the ever-changing maze of spikes fairly easily, though not without getting a few cuts here and there, most of them showing off a little bit of your skin... You grab a few medical packs out and treat your wounds, though they don't do much to help your possible "Wardrobe Malfunction"-in wait as you sigh, already feeling self-conscious about wearing such a ridiculous in such a revealing outfirt as-is.

You feel like you're ready for just about anything as you step through the doorway, entering the formerly-dark chamber and spot the most enormous man you've ever seen, his green skin and intricate armor the only thing keeping you from getting distracted at looking at his massive gut jiggle, though by looking at his brawny arms you can't deny that he's strong, or that he stinks to high heaven as the doors close, locking the two of you in...

You look at the sheer SIZE of this creature (Easily over 10 Feet Tall and only god-knows-how heavy) and grab your guns, unloading three clips into this being and killing him in little over 15 Seconds, dodging his one club strike as he licked his lips, mumbling something in a language you don't understand as he finally keels over, exploding in a blast of wisp-like energy...

Somehow, someway, the wisps of energy from that fallen foe get sucked into the barrels of your guns, not harming your form in the slightest as you run out through the chamber and back out into the hallway, wondering if you should just go straight ahead into the other door and try to find the other half of the key... You head straight through the left-hand corridor and walk into a veritable mine of rare and precious gemstones illuminating your path as you walk along a path and a small, stone-floored alcove with four doors, two directly in front of you, one to the right and one to the left along with a stone momument of a possibly Aztec-Looking Warrior off to the side.

You look up to it and read the inscription out Loud: "A Warrior begins his journey by crawling, then ascends to greatness in battle...", pausing as you briefly wonder what language it is and why you're able to read it before continuing to read the innscription. "If one is full of valor and courage, they die in the heat of battle with pride; For everyone else, they sink to the depths of mediocrity and support themselves as old men..."

You pause, then note that the doors are all marked by a set of numbers, possibly roman numerals and wonder if they correlate to the plaque.

>A. Go with Door Number 4 First (The one on your left)

>B. Check out Door Number 1 (The one to your Right)

"Hmm... 'Begin your journey by crawling', then ascend to greatness in battle" you muse, wondering if the placquard of the statue dropped hints as to where you should go next.

"You use all FOUR limbs to crawl, then you start to walk" you think, pausing as you gander "Which would mean I should go through the second door here", walking through the door with two gemstones over it (Rubies, most likely) and immediately finding yourself in a room filled with dozens of stone statues of soldiers, briefly wondering you'll have to possibly fight them if you don't get through the room fast enough...

Sorry for the delays; Internet connection issues tonight due to a fairly heavy rainstorm.

>>30510741

You run through the door with the Three Saphires embedded above it as fast as you can, feeling like you had instantaneously arrived inside the next room, seeing an other, darker-looking altar with the second half of the key perched above it (A Yin symbol made of pure Obsidian with a small Pear inlaid at the tip), though you note that there's a large, round room at start of the steps of the altar.

You take a small healing herb and bring yourself up to full health, then walk up to the altar, not even bothering to replace the stone with something of equal weight or value and head back towards the exit...

Though the moment you step foot on the arena-like platform, a nagging fear that had been festering in the back of your mind materializes as metal gates drop down and virtually lock you in, the ghosts of warriors long past starting to materiallize and cheer you on as three oddly stone statues drop down to the floor, looking a bit like Fiona Graves, Tsuyako Horikawa & Mai Shiranui...

Seems that way...

>>30515206

You wait for a few tense moments for one of the golems to makke the first move towards you, but they don't seem to budge, instead playing a serious game of brinksmanship with you as the crowd goes silent, not quite expecting what;ll happen next...

Eventually, you give in and start to close in on the MaiGolem, rolling past her discus attack to knock "Her" over with a well-placed Hard Kick, ducking under Tsuyako's standing Sobat Kick and kohou'ing her bulky (Even in granite!) frame up into the sky, though only briefly as the two of them seem to break apart, then reform after a second...

You then feel the ground shake as the FionaGolem charges towards you, her arm outstretched in a running "Clothesline" that you easily counter by ducking and smashing her with a Ha'oh Raijinken, knocking her chiseled (Quite Litterally in this case) frame to rubble as you cotinue to duck and weave your way through the attacks of the Tsuyako & MaiGolems, though the one attack that DID hit you was strong enough to knock the wind out of you (As you had gotten a bit too reckless and lazy in your counter-attack attempts and felt like a mac truck had hit you)... Though you countered the MaiGolem's aerial assualt and followed it up with a Raijin Lightning Rush, the last hit blasting her to dust as all that remained was the the TsuyakoGolem... Except she was nowhere to be found.

You scratch your head at that, but then see her squatting over the remains of the FionaGolem, the sounds of sobs coming from her... You snap back and wonder if fighting them was the right thing to do as you slowly, quietly walk over to them and listen in on their conversation.
>>
>>30517154

"Fio-Chan..." you hear her practically scream out in agony, amber-colored tears escaping her eyes as the FionaGolem opens hers, a brown sludge trickling out of her mouth as she smiles grabs the TsuyakoGolem and gives her a long, deep kiss...

"I... It's all a hollow victory..." you hear her weakly mutter, coughing more mud-like brown sludge up before she adds "F-For a hollow s-s-soul." You hear her sputter a little more before her eyes close and her body turns to sand, the TsuyakoGolem screaming something in Japanese as the sounds of hundred (If not thousands), of spirits laughing at you ring through your ears.

Your arms start to tremble at the sound of their laughter as an ugly, dark energy starts to rise up inside you as your immediately activate "Shōmei-ō Katja", blasting the TsuyakoGolem's body to pieces with a VERY fast "Denjin Haoh Shokuo Ken"... Yet you stay in the "Lightning King Katja" mode and run out through the one exit the room has, Raijin Sprinting through the metal bars that had kept you inside the arena-like area.

You run through the door and assault what seems like a MASSIVE stone guardian, the statue that had guarded the alcove getting blasted to small bits of stone with a Ryuuko Ranbuu, STILL feeling the affects of the "Lightning King Katja" flow through your body as wisps of energy similar to the ones you had seen earlier come out of the Ogre you had shot to death with your guns swarm around you and fill your vitality somewhat...

However, you don't stop to think about what this all might mean and run back on the path you had came through at a blinding pace and head to the main door back in the Main Hall, your mind racing as you barrel through a dozen of the stone soldiers you had seen earlier like they were bowling pins as you make your way to the main set of doors and FINALLY put both of them in and open said door, the eyes of the two stone panther statues glowing red as it opens...

>Updates now Resume

>You now resume direct control of Katja Hartkern's mind

You breath heavily as your energy from "Shōmei-ō Katja" rages throughout your body, almost tearing the very fabric of this world's reality matrix apart as you simply stand and think over why you're here, why your body triggered this state... And why, most of all, did you go "H.A.M." on all of those statues, ESPECIALLY when you stop to think that the Extremely large one looked a little like Takuma Sakazaki, while the footsoldiers you had just gotten finished with fighting all looked people you had met throughout your time at the dojo, as well as Terry & Andy Bogard, Robert Garcia, Ryo Sakazaki, Shen Woo and that one particularly "Shady" guy.... Kazahaya, you think his name was?

Regardless, the implications of what this all seem to mean go over your head, though you eventually calm yourself down and return to your "Normal" self, wondering what could happen if you walk into the dark, vast room that the doors in front of you seem to be inviting...

You take your knapsack out and start to search for ammuntion for your guns, loading up your last clips into the Millitary-Spec Berretas before you pause, take a breath and slow walk through the open door, carefully taking a few steps before you look for a penlight that was in your pocket, the doors shutting behind you as you switch it on.

The tiny light is strong, but almost comically small as you see another spralling staircase, though the stone floor under your feet seems instead to be made of some kind of metal as you walk down it, putting an arm on the sidewall to steady yourself as you note that there aren't any steps, instead feeling more like a ramp that corkscrews into the epths of the earth...

Eventually, you reach the bottom and see a small, unmarked metal door without any windows and walktowards it, your curiousity getting the better of you as you grip the handle tight and pull back as hard as you can, eventually causing the door to move enough for you to squeeze your body past the narrow opening as it pressure-seals shut.

You take a look around, flashing your penlight as you look for a fusebox or lightswitch and find one, flipping it on and looking aghast at what's inside the room:

Row after row of large, glass cylinders, a small computer terminal in front of each one and each of them housing a human-sized life-form in various states of completion, all of it looking a bit like it came straight out of a modern re-imagining of the classic horror movie "The Boys from Brazil"...

Except they're all girls.

And they all look EXACTLY like you, minus the scar on your cheek...

You fight every urge to yell out, scream and wake up, determined to calmy get through this dream with your sanity intact and get to the bottom of this, your dream turning lucid as you calmly walk up to the first computer terminal and read what's on the screen after you get it out of "Sleep Mode": "You're a Billion-Dollar Can of Soup."

Slightly unnerved at that, you shake your head and read the next terminal: "Property of The Paragon Group LLC."

Your eyes widen at that as the world around starts to twist and distort, those laughs from earlier coming back to haunt you as you start to run, your feet sinking into the ground as you look towards a bright, white light that slowly starts to close, each computer terminal you pass reading the same message: "You're Already Dead. Your Friends are Dead. Your Family's Dead. Your Fucking Pets are being Skinned Alive. Your Mom's a Fucking WHORE. You suck at Life. The Whole World HATES YOU. You're going to Hell because you have no Soul. DEAL WITH IT."

You feel tears starts to stream down your face as you try to reach for that bright light, grabbing on to the hole and pull yourself through it, everything in your vision turning a bright, white flash of light...

>New Thread Theme: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bxCnYN6c6eE

Your vision restores itself after a while, looking at a textured, metal surface, blood trickling onto the floor from your mouth...

After a few minutes, you get up off the floor as red lines start to light up and illuminate the whole darkened room, lighting up an imposing door as an immense thrumming noise rings through your ears; A Red, Eye-Sized light shining at you and cutting through the darkness...

"REPENT MOTHERFUCKER!" you yell as you unload round after round at the red light, the sound of your bullets cutting through human flesh compelling you to keep firing until you unload the whole clip in both of your guns...

However, a familiar voice laughs back at you as a man you recognise as Rugal Bernsetien leaps from the shadows, his feet stretched out towards you...

You quickly "Power-Up" and ready an Uppercut, though not a Kohou; Something bigger, grander and overall more damaging springs to mind, particularly as you had always seemed to spin around more than other Kyokugenryuu practicioners and want to push that idea to the extreme...

You launche an electrified fist into the air, the arc of your uppercut as shallow as you can make it and practically vertical as the Electricity ROCKETS you skyward, Counter-Hitting Rugal cleanly up to 25 times(!) and knocking him back and away from you (The Katakana "ありません風神拳でも分かる" flashing in the background for a brief second or two).

You fall fairly safely as Rugal lands HARD onto the floor, taking his time to get back up as that attack really did some damage to him...

That aside, that phrase doesn't make any sense the way it's structured, unless you're going for a haiku, in which case it's still a little off, though I think I get what you're trying to say. You could try this:

Sorry for being nitpicky, but I can't bring myself to let stuff like that go.

However, you panic for a second as he Ukemi's and "Powers Up" himself, rushing towards you wiith arm outstretched with a "God Press" on his mind.

Curiously enough, you hop away and find that he had misjudged the distance of his attack 9Going for the shortest distance possible, if only because Rugal had expected you to immediately try to follow the kicks up with something else that WOULD'VE been countered cleanly by the God Press) and NAIL him with one more Corkscrewing Uppercut into the heavens, yelling "Fuujin to Raijin no TENSHOUKEN!!!", the background going black as you KO him almost Instantly and a Haiku of-sorts appearing to your right in bright, bold Kanji:

>この拳が (kono ken ga) (This fist...)

There's one last Special Move Slot left on her stats page...

Well, I had read a long time ago that Lara Croft was originally supposed to be a much physically larger, FAR more Amazonian woman named Laura Cruz and was basically supposed to be the daughter of Indiana Jones & Duke Nukem personality-wise... Which, to be frank, might've worked at the time (And could probably work better on Fiona Graves), but I kept wondering if Katja could come at least halfway between what Lara is/was and what she was initially supposed to be...

Also, the clothes are the most ridiculous, embarassing thing Katja's mind think of and still concievably wear, so take that as you will.

>>30535367

You stare out into the inky darkness surrounding you, feeling like you're suspended in mid-air and idly wondering where you are, how far you've come as a person... And if you somehow died in your sleep, as you spot a faint, bright light off in the distance.

You brace yourself and start to move your body around move away from it, but no light advances towards you: Instead, you start to see several more little specks of light out into the inky darkness and feel yourself lying down on a grassy hillside, gazing up at the stars and the full moon.

"I miss nights like this, you know? Just going out to the country, looking up at the stars... It puts it all into perspective, huh?"

You crane your neck and try to take a look at the make voice that said that and see him sitting upright on the hill, overlooking the lights of a large city out in the distance... He's got short, messy black hair and big, bushy sideburns that go down his chin, a pair of sunglasses obscuring his eyes as you check out his arms, noting how toned they look and well they seem to hide in his dressy shirt...
>>

You hear yourself ask him "Yeah... But what about us? I mean, you can't keep chasin' your dreams forever, Y'know. Bills are stackin' up 'n'all, creditors are on you... How far are y'gonna go with this? How many more loans are you gonna drive yourself into to keep this stupid passion of yours goin'?", not quite believing what you just told him...

He looks off in the distance for a second, then slowly turing his head towards you, his face feeling strangely familiar as you can feel his eyes burning into yours, even behind those sunglasses. "Who's to say I can't? You? The Press Corps? My accountant?" he pauses, then sighs as he admits "I'm not going give up until I at least match what my father achieved when he was alive; You should know that by now..."

"I cannot support someone who doesn't understand why I do the things I do and why my passions are what they are" he tells you, a creeping sense of dread rising up in your stomach as you swiftly get up and point a gun at him, seemingly snarling at him as your inner voice screams "What in FUCK are you doing?!?"

The man in the red & Black clothes glares back at you, wordlessly eyeing you up and crossing his arms, almost tersely expecting you to put your gun away as you hear him say "So it's come to fucking THIS now, Katherine? You can't let me live the life like I want, so you want to end it instead?", the urge to pull the trigger or do him incredible bodily harm rising...

>A. Go with the urges you're feeling. put away your guns and fight this man; What could go wrong?

>B. Grab out your other gun and threaten to shoot him in the feet; NO ONE walks away from the relationship you've had like this, not on you!

What? Yuri Sakazaki always called her "Katie"... Besides, IT'S A DREAM: Logic doesn't apply...

>>30538082
>>30538968

You glare at this guy a little as he lies down on his back and stares back up at you, your hand shakinga little as he tauntingly asks "What's the matter? ... You scared?" in an increasingly "Dark"-sounding voice.

You try to step back a little and think about what this all seems to possibly mean, or who this guy you seem to know is as you keep your eyes on him, his hands stretched back behind his head as he seemingly gazes up at the stars...

"You know, It's just like I told you the day we met Katie: I'm on this earth to either win, lose or die at whatever I do" you hear him say, pausing to take a yawn... "So C'mon, make my night; Pull the trigger."

You look down at him, that rage inside of you building up to a crescendo as you squeeze the gun's grip and unlock the safety, though you don't actually get a shot off as he trips you and locks you into an unbearably painful submission hold (A Crossface-Lock), pinning you down due to surprise more than his weight or physical strength. He doesn't say a word as you try to hold out and break through his hold, though the pressure on your face and neck seem to be hurting more than anything else as you muffle "OK OK!" and he lets go of your face, putting a knee on your back as he does so...

"Alright... This is how it's going to go down: You and me? We're through. No exceptions. I'm deleting your number from my phone and you better delete yours, because I sure as shit don't want to have a thousand drunken answering machine messages to delete next week, ok?" he demands, adding "And if you come after me and fucking try this again..."
>>
>>30540310

You wince at him for a second, wanting to say something, hell, ANYTHING right now to try and ask what's going on or explain that you were wrong to even try such a crazy stunt in the first place... But you can't; It's like your throat's been filled with cement, except with pockets of holes to help you breath as the man glances at you, his mood changing somewhat...

"Don't go to the press, or the courts or whatever either, if you wouldn't mind; Besides, YOU'RE the one that pulled a gun on ME" he explains, sounding oddly tender as he adds "... And you know what? As insane as it sounds, I don't dislike you. I just..."

"What?" you croak out, your voice feeling somewhat higher-pitched than usual, almost hearing yourself sound like a "Real" woman for once.

"... I don't want to do this anymore" he says with a sad look on his face, almost berating himself as much as condemning you as you sit up and watch him walk away, slipping into the shadowy forest that had sprung up behind the two of you as you lay back down, drifting off to a sleep within your sleep... Only to get woken up by the sounds of explosions, gunfire and god-knows-what as you open your eyes again, finding yourself standing and looking down the corridor of a tomb not unlike the previous one you had been in except much more well-lit and slightly more "Organic"-looking..

"Hey rookie! Get your head out of your ass, we've got ground to cover!" you hear someone yell as a tall, blonde-haired man in a red Jacket, white T-Shirt and Green pants leads a squadron of you and six others (Two of them looking like the guy with the bandanna and the Blue-Haired Woman from "Greystone LTD.") head-first into battle, grabbing your pistol and loading it up before firing away at a seemingly endless army of nearly same-looking soldiers, an odd, cross-like emblem on their helmets and uniforms...

You unload clips of ammunition as you advance through the catacombs of the temple, 7 other soldiers alongside you doing everything from blowing up TANKS with "HEAVY MACHINE GUN"s (An odd, rather "Hyper" voice yelling everytime somebody picks up a weapon) and a weaponized Rocket Launcher that, curiously, fires rocket-propelled Lawnchairs wrapped with explosives (Said weapon being dubbed a "RAWKET LAWNCHAIR")...

Not to mention the three other soldiers flanking you as the slice, suplex and litterally punch through soldiers with their bare hands as you start to toss grenades at the oncomming enemies, the shrapnel blasts not affecting you or any of your supposed allies as the phalanx advances towards a checkpoint of-sorts, three sepperate paths in front of you...

"Looks pretty dicey going straight ahead Marco... What's the plan?" a guy in a Yellow jacket ahead of you asks, presumably

"Hmm... We don't have enough people to split into three equal groups, but the center path's the quickest way to Morden" you hear "Marco" say, emphasising the dread in the word "Morden"

"What's the hold-up man? We're waisting time!" you hear the beefy soldier to your right ask, hopping left to right as his aggitation is clear for all to see.

"Cool it Paul... We need time to think this through" you see another soldier to his left tell him, his blue hat low over his eyes and whatever eyes he had hidden by a pair of sunglasses.

"What's our status on rescuing the POW?" the blue haired lady to your left asks, taking a sip from her canteen before fiddling his her earings a little bit.

"He should be just up ahead... The center path's the quickest way to him, but it's heavily fortified; I think going around either side's the best plan of action" Marco explains.
>>
>>30547366

"Sounds good... We go right, you go left?" a Blonde woman up front asks, her green bandana's twin tails fluttlering a little in the seemingly unseen breeze.

"10-4. IKARIS! MOVE OUT!!!" you hear "Paul" yell, as the two groups split left and right, seemingly leaving you standing at the entrance to the main path...

>A. Go with the "Sparrow Ops" Squadron on the right.

>B. Stick with the "Ikari Warriors" Squad and go left.

>C. Break off from both of them and coose the path in the center, braving god-knows-what along the way...

You instinctively go left with the "Ikari's" and run through a large, seemingly blown-open hole in the stone wall, grabbing a "DOUBLE MACHINEGUN" and firing at all sides, though you note that the Ikari Squad is seemingly MILES ahead of you, a twisted mess of wreckage and bodies left in their wake...

You keep running and follow the trail of wreckage to a GIANT, Spider-like Mechanical Monstrousity and start firing your guns at it, dealing it some damage but not hearing the guy with the hat yell "GET DOWN!" as a MASSIVE beam of energy flies out at you, your body turning to vapor and the light of the energy beam envelopes your sight, mind, body and soul... When you wake up in a cold sweat in your hotel room's bed, a Radio DJ speaking in Italian before launching into an odd, almost retro-sounding techno instrumental as you almost smash the clock-radio to pieces when you turn it off, your heart racing as you sit up and close your eyes, pinching the brige of your nose as you breathily say "Fuck me..." to no one in particular.

You rub the crust off of your eyes and wait a few minutes to clear your head, feeling a little groggy as you get up and start to do your stretches, your normally rock-solid balance a little off as you recall Dr. Lee Pai Long's advice ("Try not to fight or work out tomorrow") and wonder "What in HELL am I going to do today...?"

FIXED.

===

You think about calling up Shermie for a little bit, idly wondering when that swimwear catalogue thing was going to happen but decide to get some breakfast downstairs, as you're feeling hungry right now...

After a quick shower and a slipping into a fresh set of clothes, you head down to the cafe in the lobby and order a salad, a glass of water and a few English Muffins, mulling over what you remember from your dream as your stomach feels a little uneasy, your paranoia flaring up again as you spot a person about your size with a hoodie over them munching on a platter of Eggs Benedict...

The one thing you can really recall (Aside from beating up that Rugal Guy and the Akido master that looked like he came straight out a "Direct-to-Video" Martial Arts flick from the 1980's) were the row after row of clones resembling you, a prominent logo on the top of each one...

"Nests..." you mumble, looking around to see if anyone's glaring at you as you nibble at your salad, trying to keep your stomach settled enough to get some food down you... When you start to recall what that guy had said to you out in the moonlight...

You SWEAR you've seen him before, or heard his voice somewhere... You can feel his vibe and energy wash over you, though all you can think of is that crooked cop that pushed you into the side of that police car a few weeks back...

>>
>>30558012
>>30558041

You shiver a little at the thought as you start to pick at your muffins, fiinding that they were just a little too cold as you stared out at the window to your right, people-watching a little bit more as try to grasp onto what he had told you and why it felt like you had somehow actually experienced it at some point in your life even tough you hadn't... The line "I'm on this earth to either win, lose or die at whatever I do" really resonating with you and sticking out in your mind, as well as the name "Katherine" mainly because there was only one person on earth who had called you that...

"My father... Michael..." you mumble once more as you then recall the acrobatics in the tomb, but more specifically the outfit you were wearing and blush uncontrollably for a minute or two, then wonder how well you could pull that off in real life as the grey-hoodied person finishes up their meal and walks out, leaving you all alone with your thoughts and the sounds of Miles Davis's "Basin Street Blues"[*] lightly playing over the cafe's sound system (And wondering where they hid the speakers)...

You finish up your meal fairly quickly, your mind occupied on the why you can recall the guy with the bandana and the blue-haired you saw at that one store yesterday, yet don't recall the part with the spirits revelling in your destruction of the statues that had looked like your friends and figure too well... Which is when you get the distinct feeling that you're over-analyzing this too much now and get up out of your chair, doing a quick stretch before you head back to your room, wondering about whether you should follow Lee's advice or not as well thinking about who to call up to air this all out right now.

Now, this next one is a two-part vote. Firstly, choose between:

>[] Follow Dr. Lee Pai Long's advice and don't try to push yourself today, holding off fighting or training too hard... (Well, at least until you can get your balance back in line at least!)

>[] Ignore his advice and go through your swimming routine as usual

Then combine one of the above choices with one of the following:

>A. Call up Seth and ask him if he can set up a "Secure Location" at some point today, because you want to know EVERYTHING about what "Nests" could be or stand for (Good or Bad)

>B. Clear yourself of all of this craziness for a second, then call up Shermie and see if you need to go over to her shop today to go over the details of her catalogue launch tomorrow.

>C. Text Shen Woo and ask him for "The Wind's" phone number; You've got a hunch he might know the person you had talked to under the stars in your dream from last night...

>D. Look through the yellow pages and find a shrink to set up a series of sessions with, because theses dreams are WAY too crazy to try and drop onto any of your friends right now...

Even though your stomach's a little queasy and all of the imagery associated with your dreams still seems to be fluttering around in your head, you try to put it off for a moment by calling up Shermie, mostly to double-Check when the official launch of her new catalogue will be but honestly because you hope that you'll get a chance to go out to Sound Beach again and work on your tan a little, or maybe help her out by buying something a little bit more... "Provacotive" than your usual hum-drum one-piece; You feel the need to dress up a little today for some reason...

After a few rings, you get her answering machine and leave her a quick message that you're going to be in and around town today and want to check in on her at her shop when it opens, leaving your cellphone number and the adress your currently staying at before you hang up. You pause after that and stretch your neck out, slowly warming yourself up to go through your stretching routine a little bit again, finding your balance improving slightly but not to your satisfaction as you stop it after a few minutes...

>You now assume Direct Control of Katja Hartkern

You walk back into your villa from the elevator and fire up the old lap-top, spending about an hour researching the symptoms of concussions, though what information you find doesn't seem to encourage the thought that this could be an easy fix; You cringe at the thought of possibly missing the tournament altogether if what your going through right now (Partial Loss of Balance, slight Headache, Nervous as all hell and sleeping more than usual) doesn't go away in a day or two...

You sigh wearily at your bad luck showing back up again as you get up and start to stretch once more, your balance not exactly perfect but slightly better than it had been even an hour ago and get through your full "Warm-Up" routine though not without some difficulty.

"Right... Now, let's try that one thing" you think out loud as you try to find a space large enough to do your Tai-Chi routine that older man ("Slick", you think his name was?) showed you, recalling how it could greatly help out your Ki flow and better yourself for the tournament... Excpt that you can't quite remember how it went, starting to panic a little bit more at the thought of these symptoms possibly becoming permanent and wonder "What should I do...? If I go to the doctor's, they'll probably say that I can't fight anymore or somethin' stupid like that... Of course, the old sayin' that Takuma taught was "Don't Fuck Around with concussions", so...?"

You strongly considered going to a doctor to get a check-up or second opinion about your probable injuries, but instead decided to spend most of the day relaxing around your villa, catching up on your reading and watching some movies on the big-screen TV in the living room. Later (Long after a hearty lunch), you took a relaxing swim in the pool, not really training hard but just enjoying the fact that you were swimming for the sake of it, your headache slowly starting to fade as the day wore on as you were planning to head out that night to either "The Club" Shen Woo had briefly mentioned or one of the Pao Pao Cafes to get your fix of fighting action...

===

>You Now assume Direct Control of Takuma Sakazaki

>Time of day: 11:58 AM

You wear a mask of impregnable stoicism as you stand and watch the proud students and disciples of your art spar in the proud Dojo you had helped build, your arms crossed and standing up as your daughter Yuri drills the few remaining beginners off in the main dojo, nodding as your latest disciple walks up and stands with you, looking on and almost nervously as he asks "Penny for your thoughts, Sensei?"

You glare at him for a moment, saying nothing yet letting your body language come across as though that his question might've been the wrong thing to ask as you see the sliding screen entrace open, a man wearing a white suit and hat leaning in the doorway.

"Go work on your arm some more Marco" you mutter, then immediately step down from the ellevated shrine you were standing on and stride past Yuri and her students, your eyes fixated on this obviously shady individual as you put on the meanest scowl you can muster.

"Who are you and what do you want?" You yell at him in Japanese, not letting your harsh glare slip for an instant as you add "If you're a bill collector or a loan shark, get off my doorstep."
>>

"They call me "The Wind".... And I'm here to challenge you to a fight" he replies, his accent sounding like he's a northern hick from Hokkaido trying to act like a Yakuza as you try not to laugh in his face at the thought.

"You're 20 years too early to be challenging me... Or any of the students that reside here" you tell him, threatening "And "I don't know what you're up to, but you're out of luck now that you've run into me. Don't cause too much trouble to the other patients while you're in the hospital, okay? Those people have real illnesses and they need their rest."

"The Wind" laughs a little at that, then says "What? You REALLY think you're going to win? You're about ten steps ahead of yourself, Oyajii."

You bristle at his words, feeling that they sound strangely familiar to you as you fire back ""Your impudence has lasted long enough... Yuri! Turn up the lights in here! I want everyone to see this!" as you lead him inside, his shoes audible on the floor as Yuri facepalms, muttering something about "What happened to 'No fights with outsiders until the tournament'?" as she turns on the Dojo's extraneous lighting system on and you asume a combat stance that you had been meaning to try out since your recent recovery...

"Dad... You REALLY need to conserve your energy, you know? The tournament's in less than two weeks and" Yuri starts to say, though you cut her off with a small speach that you preactically yell so that everyone in the dojo could hear it.

"Now's not the time... Gather the others, because Kyokugenryuu knows nothing of "Retreat." It only knows "Attacking!""

"The Wind" nods, then holds out his hand near his sunglasses, the white-with print suit he had been wearing revealing to have been a deck of playing cards that had been somehow covering his body and slide into his sleeves, revealing a plain white suit underneath as he adopts a stance that looks like something out of an old, showy Martial Arts epic from your youth...

Yet another two-Part Vote. First off, choose between the following two options:

>[] Actually fight "The Wind".

>[] Listen to Yuri for a change and see if he's interested in fighting anyone else in your Dojo, using some comedy slapstick to through him off and possibly sway him (Roll 3d100 for Diplomacy, Persuation & Luck)

If you choose the first option above (IE Fight Kazunori), please combine it with one of the following:

>A. Rocket towards him with a "Kyokugen Torakou", hoping to catch him off-guard and start the match with a slight edge as far as "MindGames" go while you apply pressure from there (Roll 2d100 for Speed & Attack Damage)

>B. Try to move in and out of this joker's possible range and keep him spaced in your optimal attack range with well-placed attacks of the normal and special variety, mixing them up as you see fit (Roll 4d100 for Speed, Defense, Evasion & Attack Damage)

You hold up a combat stance as you eye this "Wind" character down, not wanting to take the first move and neiher does he... Though he goads you a little as he asks "You still want to do this pops? I heard from a friend of mine that you haven't been feeling well lately..."

You pause at his words, that granite expression of your starting to slowly crack as you hear Yuri yell "Come ON Dad! What kind of example would yo be setting if you went back on your word in front of all of your students?"

Your expression of stoicism vanishes as you grudgingly admit "Heh... You know, you're right Yuri" as you drop your stance a little, though still hold up a decent guard just in case he might try something. "In my old age, I've got to set a better example for my students..." you start to explain, stretching out your back and audibly cracking it, using that crack to act like you had innadvertently brokken something as you collapse to the floor, Yuri, Marco and the other students rush to your aid.

"Oooh I think I got something!" you moan, groaning as well as you can fake it as Marco slowly helps you up as you gasp, yelling "Yep! That's it!" as you try to rub the fake sore spot on your back, Yuri shouldering you and trying not let on the fact that she knows you're bluffing...

"Too bad; If I WERE 20 years younger I would be showing you how Kyokugen Karate is the true way of battle... So, I'll have to let one of my disciples do that for me" you add with a grin as Marco stretches his neck out and starts to warm up his arns...

Curiously, "The Wind" sighs and admits "... Nah, not interested; None of your students come close to the caliber of fighter that you are...", adding "No disrespect" almost absentmindedly as he walks out the door.

You wait for him to leave the Dojo's grounds before you quit acting and give your daughter a hug, looking down at her and simply saying "Thank you", a small crack of a grin on your face...
>>

"Who was that guy?" Marco Rodriguez asks, stretching out his other arm as you

"Probably jst some young punk looking to try and bust the dojo up... He dressed a lot like the last one that tried it" you tell him, thinking back to how you had seemingly won that fight with the man dressed in black clothing, his wild, long hair fluttering around him as you had fought... Only for him to slip away leave you to call an ambulance and file a police report.

"Dad? You alright?" Yuri asks you, tugging at your arm a little and surprised at your unusually tender moment you just had together.

"... It's nothing; I need to reflect on my actions for a little while" you concede, tacitfully slipping out of your daughter's embrace and heading back to your private quarters out near the back of the courtyard, your son Ryo just about finishing up his sparring session with his childhood friend and Rival Robert Garcia, not giving either of them a second glance as you

>You Continue to assume Direct Control of Takuma Sakazaki

You lock the door to your private chamber and start to settle in, trying to relax and enter a deep state of meditation to solemnly reflect upon what had happened in the Dojo just a few moments ago.

As you sit in the full lotus position, your back turned away from the entrance and facing a large Shinto shrine (Hastily errected, as the previous statue that was there needed to be in cleaned and professionally pollished), you wonder about what had made you "Crack" like you had? Was it really the fact that the King of Fighter's tournament was on the horizon? That money was enough for a proud wartior such as yourself, a "Teacher's teacher" to back down from testing your abillities? Or was the thought of perserving your honor and keeping your word enough to act like that to get out of a fight?

You find it troubling that you can't reach a clear, concise answer as quickly as you'd like to, but lock your mind away even more, furrowing your brow as you try to force yourself to keep that meditation fresh in your mind, chanting in a rythmic sutra, finding that it's not exactly helping... You give in and open your eyes, the small statues of the various Kami seemingly looking at you inquisitively as you wonder if your decision to break your last disciple off and reject her rightful claim will end up being an impurity that could cause her to come back as an Aragami, or harbor such evil spirits that could end up corrupting youyour family if/when you eventually meet her again...
>>
Supposed to be a "/" after youyour; Sorry for that.

>>30579182

You glare at the statue of Amaterasu, the eyes looking downcast and seemingly giving you a sign, the rest of the statues eventually giving you the same look as you sigh, knowing what had been eating away at you the day you had gotten out of the hospital... Hell, you had regretted narly the second after you had ripped up her certificate and started burning it. "... Damn it, FINE!" you mutter as you get up and unlock the doors, seeing Ryo and Robert talking about their sparring as you brush past them in a huff.

"What's his deal today?" you overhear Robert ask your son, though you pay them no heedas you stride back into the Dojo, Marco holding his hands up and going through a reaction-time exercise with his only student ("Cross-Crawl counters", he called them) as you intently wait for Yuri to reach a point in her lesson that you could smoothly interject, crossing your arms as that granite expression of stoicism returns to your face...

"Hey! How've you been sunshine? Feelin' any better?" You ask as you grab a quick bite from your plate.

Your mood almost instantly changes as the gravity of the fact that Takuma Sakazaki, the craziest, meanest and downright toughest sonnofabitch you've ever known is reaching out and calling YOU (instead of the other way round) takes hold as Yuri asks "Uh... You still there?"

"Yeah. Put him through to me please" you cooly reply, steeling yourself up to hear some half-baked plea to come back to the dojo or some shit as you hear Yuri pass her phone off to her father.

"Katja? Are you there?" he asks, his voice gruff-sounding as always as you already dread where this conversation might go.

"Yeah, I'm here... What d'you want?"

Takuma pauses for a long time, long enough for you to wonder if something's wrong with your phone before you start hear that he was walking with it. "I want to formally appologize for what I have done to you."

You raise an eyebrow at that, but don't say a word as you intently listen to him explain "I've spent the time that you've been gone thinking about what had happened... And I realize now that I was wrong; I had no right to strip you of your title, or exile you without consultation."

"Fuckin'a' right you didn't" you darkly ponder, biting back those words as you hear him pause again (As it sounds like Takuma's clearing his throat). "But in truth, I was wrong about myself more than anything else... I acted on an ugly feeling about what your habits and the impact they MIGHT have on the Dojo as a whole instead of looking past them and seeing that you brought an unique energy and a strength of character that's unrivaled."

You pause at that, setting your spoon down as you hear Takuma add "Which is why I want to clear that up and officially make you the first woman to ever wear my mask; I want you to become "Mrs. Karate."

>Takuma proposes to Katja
If you said "Ms. Karate," this would have a whole different connotation.
>>
>>30592554

Thanks for actually pointing that out.

>>30592344

Your jaw practically drops down to the small mountain of curried rice on your plate after hearing that, not expecting him to offer up such a prized possesion (As the Tengu Mask in the dojo had an almost totemistic quality to it)... Though you balk a little at what his offer really means, as it basically would seal your fate to becoming the "Face" of Kyokugenryuu for women worldwide...

"You've had this on your mind for a while, huh?" you reply, Takuma's silence being a harsh admition, but an admition in your mind as a part of you wants to accept, while another part asks yourself "Why am I even THINKING about going back there?"

"Hang on, you aren't exactly proposing marriage on me now, ain't ya?" you ask, realizing that he might've had something else on his mind.

"Ah... Yes, that's what I meant" Takuma almost sheepishly replies as you stiffle back a chuckle, thinking back at how long he had been without a woman in life and wonder "I guess even Karate Man-Mountains need love too, eh?"

"Why're you calling it "Mrs." Karate instead of "Miss", anyhow?"

"To tie it in with the legend of Mr. Karate, I suppose..." Takuma ponders as you silently mull his offer over.

>A. Accept and make the arrangements to become "Ms. Karate".

>B. Decline and chew him out over him trying to sweet-talk you into going back to the dojo, airing your grievances as you feel that you can now that the whole "Master-Student" relationship's been broken...

>C. Offer up a non-commital response and see where he goes with it; If he pressures you to do this NOW, or possibly in only a day or so hang up on him.

>D. Decline and challenge him- No, challenge MR. KARATE to a re-match in three days time; You want to stand on your own two feet as a Martial Artist and challenging him to a fight as an "Outsider" could be the best chance to do that.

Tell him that it's a great offer and all, but explain how you can't really think about accepting it until AFTER the tournament concludes (Basically >>30592798)
>>
>>30592702
>E.
>>30592798 This seems like our best option for now although honestly I don't think we should take it because disassociation with the Kyokugen Dojo has brought us a lot of oppurtunity.
>>
>>30593721
That's the idea. You banned us from the dojo, and now not only do you want us to come back, but you want us to take the tengu mask?

Fuck that, dude. I'll think about taking that mask after I beat your fucking head in.
>>
>>30593894
True. BUT, we could also get as much information out of him as possible, get all of the scrolls we can and then leave as soon as we have them down pat.

Decisions, decisions...
>>
>>30593937
Besides, why wouldn't Yuri get the mask? She IS the crown princess of the dojo and Sakazaki heiress.
>>
>>30594136
That...that is a very good question.

Assumably the order of masks would go
>Takuma (current)
>Ryo (has worn it before)
>Robert (major investor, strong as shite)
>Marco (Strong)
>...Billy?
>Yuri

So I imagine it's more of a "Oh hey look at this totally cool figure who is KIND OF a name that's been around the town and OH LOOK we TOTALLY can't have a lesbian mascot so have this TOTALLY COOL mystersious figure (whose idendity we'll reveal for popularity)despite the identity of the Karate Masks supposedly being hidden"
>>
>>30594343
>Lesbian
The feck am I on about? Aren't we bi? Does it matter to Takuma?
>>
>>30594367
Katja is maybe-bisexual, and there's not enough data to either confirm or deny, mostly because Katja isn't sure herself.
>>
>>30594367

Katja's kinda-sorta-Bi (Likes girls, but hasn't had the courage to date one yet), but Takuma exiled us out because HE thought that we were getting too close to Yuri... Then probably realized "Oh FUCK! Think about the kind of money we could rake in if we have her around to be our connection to the /lgbt/ crowd!?" or something... (That or Katja getting interviewed about what had happened at the first opportunity might lead to bad publicity and an army of millitant SJW's trying to bust the Dojo down...)

"Er..." you groan, not quite ready to voice your thoughts before you shake your head. "Well, I honestly think you should save your mask until after the tournament. THEN I'll consider taking it" you confidently tell him.

"I see..." Takuma replies, sounding a little "Lost" at your response.

"You gotta understand that while I honor you and respect the fact you will ALWAYS be the man that helped learn how to fight... You kicked me out on my arse when I needed you, Yuri and Ryo's support probably more than ever" you admit.

Takuma's silence on the other end seems a bit vague to you; He could be acknowledging that he doesn't really have a leg to stand on in this regard, or he could also be damning your words...

"And to be honest, why not give it to Yuri anyways? She probably deserves it more than I do..."

"She's not as strong as you are though" Takuma finally responds in a "Matter-of-Fact" way, coldly admitting "The Tengu Mask is one that represents the pinnacle of our art; Only the true masters of Kyokugen get to have the honor of accepting and wearing it..."

"And the fact that you're saying that to me about your own daughter makes me want to get over there and kick your ass some more" you again think to yourself as the weight of Takuma's words sinks down on your shoulders.
>>
>>30594586

"Why let her continue to fight alongside of y'all then when you don't respect her enough as a person to teach her REAL Kyokugenryuu? Because you don't think she's strong enough for it?"

Takuma's silence again seems out-of place, though you partly feel like his hand's going to jump out of your screen and strangle you or something as the mood of this all turns dark...

"See? THESE are the kind of questions I should've asked while I was still in your"

"Because I don't want my baby girl getting hurt, that's why" you hear Takuma snarl, adding "And do you think the average girl can withstand 500 Sit-ups a day, EVERYDAY like you can? Keep in mind that you're still a beginner compared to the men that come to my dojos around the world..."

"That's another thing: You threw me and any other woman that tried to learn your art under the bus right from the start and kept me learning the weakest branch of Kyokugenryuu you teach LONG after I had mastered it, just because of my gender. Meanwhile, guys that don't even have half of the strength that I do, that would only came once or twice a week at most were touted and trained to be the "Next Big Thing" while I busted my arse and got used as a training dummy for 'em" you quickly bring up, pausing for a second to catch your breath as you can almost sense Takuma's impending rage as you set your phone down and try to quickly finish up your still-warm curry rice.

"I'm aware of that..." he almost tenderly replies as you hear him take a breath. "Those reasons are all precisely WHY I want you to take on the mask and become "Ms. Karate"; The times are changing and the culture of my dojos need to change as well... Beyond that, you're the strongest Woman I've EVER seen in attempt to learn Kyokugenryuu and I consider you a Meijin of the Sparrow Style."

You pause at that yet again, quietly nibbling on the last little bit of rice you had left as you reconsider whether to truly accept his offer or not...

>A. Stick by your initial reply and wait until after "The Infinite Match" to make a firm decision.

>B. Accept his offer and start making the necessary arrangements to become "Ms. Karate".

>C. Decline, sticking by your explaination of how he had treated you and the few other women to make a fist at learning Kyokugen Karate as a case-in-point.

>D. Ask him if he can personally instruct you on learning REAL Kyokugen Karate (AKA Takuma's personal techniques) and see what he says.

Hmmm.

As the paranoid I am he's got years of experience with which to lie to us and doesn't believe any of this, and will be using us as a figurehead for PR purposes without advancing our training. I am paranoid, so I may be entirely wrong.

>A. Stick by your initial reply and wait until after "The Infinite Match" to make a firm decision.
Try and get calm before speaking.
"I'm afraid I can't commit to the mask right now - a lot has happened since we parted ways and I've become involved in a lot of dangerous work."

"Besides, wouldn't it be better press to announce that one of the winners/finalists of the latest KOF is Ms. Karate, as opposed to throwing me onto the public stage without the title behind my back?"

"Out of interest, have you spoken to Yuri about advancing to heavier forms of Kyoukugen? I understand that no one wants to hurt your daughter, but if you haven't already it may be worth arranging a stress test to see just how much of the harder stuff she can do."

With some stuff in between would be roughly how I'd wing it.
>>
>>30595397
Best not to call Takuma on his politics. Just save it for "I'll consider it after I beat your face."
>>
Appologies all around for the delay; Had to help a guy start work on fixing the roof on my house.

>>30595350
>>30595397

You take a minute to digest your food and calm down, Takuma asking "You still there?"

"Yeah... And while I AM interested, I'm afraid I can't commit to the mask right now; A lot has happened since we parted ways and I've become involved in a lot of dangerous work."

"Heidern contact you?"

"Who?" you ask, the name not really familiar to you.

"Just an old friend of mine" he replies.

"Right... And wouldn't it be better press to announce that one of the winners/finalists of the latest KOF is Ms. Karate, as opposed to throwing me onto the public stage without the title behind my back?"

"That idea has merit, but the user of the mask must be anonymous outside of the persona itself" Takuma quickly explains.

"Right... And out of interest, have you spoken to Yuri about advancing to heavier forms of Kyoukugen? I understand that no one wants to hurt your daughter'n'all, but if you haven't already it may be worth arranging a stress test to see just how much of the harder stuff she can do."

Takuma again goes silent as you feel like that you might've struck a nerve without warning, though he admits "I have... But to be fair, she doesn't stick to the fundamentals needed to advance up the Kyokugen Ladder."

"Fair enough" you agree, thinking about some of the more... "Eccentric" attacks Yuri had thought up over the years, up to and including a Butt Slam (En Yoku AKA "The Big Butt Press"), Bitch Slaps (Hyakuretsu Binta/"Hundred Rending Face Slaps") and Terry Bogard's Burn Knuckle just off the top of your head, coming to a conclusion that none of them seemed to have the same pure power of the attacks that Ryo, Robert Garcia and others ended up learning.

"Like I said, I'll consider it... After I beat your face in and win the tournament" you tell him with a smirk.

"I look forward to it" he replies in his "Mr. Karate" voice before hanging up.

A part of you wonders if letting that last little remark slip was a good idea as you check the time, seeing that it's a little past 2 PM and try to remember what you were going to do with the rest of your day before heading out to check out some fights around some of the seedier places in South Town...

>A. Call up Shermie again and see if you can get in touch with her about the launch you're supposed to be attending tomorrow... Also, see if you can get one more outfit from her at a discount or something; You want something a little more "Girly" than your "Ho-Hum" one-piece.

>B. Call up Shen Woo, see if he can score you some "Ryu-Gunn" (It might help you recover from your concussion faster), get that "Wind" guy's phone number and check out that "Club" he had been talking about...

>C. Head out and explore the city a little bit today before you head out to one of The Pao Pao Cafes to get your "Fix" of fighting tonight (Though only as a spectator).

>D. Time-Skip to later that night as Katja Hartkern as she starts looking for places to spectate fights in and around the city of South Town... What could go wrong?

>E. End the updates for this Quest today and start up a VERY special, seperate session that had been hinted at earlier...

Launch?

Either way it'd be good to get in touch with Shermie.

You clean up your dishes and set them up on the side of the sink, then call up Shermie again as you idly wonder a little bit more about what kind of challenges you'll end up having to face sooner or later, Takuma's parting words egging you on...

"Katja! How're you today?" Shermie asks over your phone, her voice as bubbly-sounding and fake-accented as ever.

"Nothin' much Ma Cherie... I wanted to see what you had planned for your catalogue launch tomorrow."

"That's right! Forgive me dear, I only had a few hours of sleep last night" she admits, then starts to tell you about her night mending costumes for the South Town Wrestling Federation and meeting up with a "Legendary" female wrestler ("Tsuyako's Mom, I'll bet" you think) in her shop, all the while you grab some ice cream that was "On the House" from the Cafe downstairs and take a few bites.

"Awright, that sounds like fun" you tell her, pausing for a little bit before you ask "So... About the gig in question?"

"Hmm? Oh yes, sorry... Well, it starts at around 11 tomorrow morning and should go on for quite a while, depending on the amount of fans that show up and the media coverage it gets" she explains, adding "I'm very lucky toget you to agree to do this, because I don't think the unveiling would be as successful if you weren't there."

"Wot? Really now? Y'sure you aren't havin' a giggle on me?" you ask, trying to play down how important this could be for you and your so-called "Image" as a fighter...

"They seem to be taking a shining to you dear; The initial press-release batch sold out within an hour because your photos were in there keeping the "Soft" eye-candy in check" Shermie teases.

You don't know what to make of that, but don't comment on it as you hear her getting "Friendly" with someone on the other end ("Probably Yashiro", you muse to yourself) and quickly ask "OK... I don't want to waste anymore of your time, but should I get in early? And what should I wear?"
>>
>>30598420
>>30596932

"Showing up at around 10 would be fine and wear whatever you'd like" you hear Shermie reply in-between a few giggles, pecks and other sounds.

"Right... OK, I'll see ya' tomorrow" you tell her and hang up, an odd sense of emptyness overcoming you as you wonder if it were appropriate to head out and look for something "Haute-Couture" to wear for tomorrow?

>A. Get on your bike and go clothes shopping at some of the more "Upscale" places South Town has to offer (If there ARE any, of course....).

>B. Stay in for a little bit longer and try to contact Shen Woo, asking about that "Club" he briefly mentioned and wanting to get hold of "The Wind's" phone number and some "Dragon Pills", in that order...

>C. Time-Skip to later that evening as you cruise through the city of South Town, looking to get your "Fight Fix" on the spectator's side of things for a change.

>Date: Saturday, May 19th

>Time of Day: 7:15 PM

You had taken the rest of the day off for the most part, doing stretches every now and then, took a good two hours to clean and hang your Motorcycle Leathers out to naturally dry as well writing down what little you could recall of the "Unbeatable" Tai-Chi Routine you had learned from "Slick" Sukihiro, the day turning to an early night...

You put on a pair of your new pants you had gotten (The "Red Brick" ones) and slip on a Black Wifebeater, draping your Black Jacket over them as you headed out to "The Pao Pao Cafe" on your trusty Triumph Thruxton Motorcycle, your calls to Shen Woo not getting returned...

You arrive at the Cafe at around 8 PM traffic curiously light as you pull up to the parking lot outback, the place "Jumping" more than usual as you can feel an undeniable electricity in the air... You tip the Bouncer a $20 Bill and head inside, the sound of a fight in it's last throes thrilling the crowd as you grab a Foster's from the Draft and a Hotdog, muscling your way up to a table and catching the last "KO!" for the match, an oddly familiar-looking woman with Blue Hair and dressed in vaguely millitary-like clothes fiddling with her earings as she walks off the Cafe's "Fighting Stage" and back to her table, two equally familar-looking guys patting her on the back and raiding their drins to give her a toast.

>END UPDATES

I'm tired and want to catch up on my sleep.

Thanks the players that came out and participated in this "Half-Session" today; A special, possibly self-contained "Omake" Round will have a pending start time of 8 AM PST, 11 AM EST tomorrow...

Unless the Players Wish to contact me through my Twitter (https://twitter.com/WeaselThat) and suggest a "Regular" session instead (Or post in this one until it hits the autosage, I won't mind). Regardless, G'night Y'all.
