Previously: Asher is baptized, thus completing his initiation into the followers at Friend's behest as The Followers rally to stake claim for the ruined city of San Diego.

Moving to action in the twilight hours, Asher reminisces with the colors of the sky what he'd done the day they had first come to be. Amidst the riots he sought out his own gratification.

At the the "signal" He, Eshe, Aerin, Helia, and Hot Rod move to breach the triple layered barricade established by the U.S. Military.

Fara obliterates a sniper after Asher locates their position with a complimentary summon of a raven.
Helia's the one to open the wall and Eshe rushes in ahead running her natural voltage through the opposition while the main force of the followers distract the soldiers with a frightful opposition.

With Asher burning away his powers into the night three Government Overs are slain by his group, with Aerin saved by a last moment burst of steam and her own sonic-boom of a punch.
With a tactical retreat, and Asher slowly awakening a helicoptor hovering just above his group is a welcome sight.

Eshe delivered.

Time to get out of the flooded city, and go to the desert. I liked being in a flooded city as a water mage, it made life easier.

And I like the new picture, it reminds me of JJBA.

Unlocking Alchemy can be done by unlocking Fire, Earth, and Air manipulation.

Alchemy would be something that would be very good to get, as it would allow Asher to create permanent changes in the world through his magic and eventually achieve immortality through the creation of a Philosopher's Stone (would also require summoning, apparently)

http://archive.foolz.us/tg/thread/30246785/#30255905
With our rank up in summoning, we can force a summon to do things now, so we don't have to worry as much about unruly summons. If we summon a wendigo or something similarly vicious, we can force it to not eat us.
>>
>>30398984
I didn't draw it. Saying that now. And I'm still working on the color.

If anyone wants to take a swing at it, I can throw out the untouched version.
>>
>>30399009
I wanted to address the difference of Alchemy and Materia Firma.

Alchemy would physically change a substance from one thing to another.
While the Materia Firma into Enchantment line changes its properties.

Enchantment can cause a body of fire to have solid mass, to burn without heat, and burn for days or even weeks,

Alchemy can change lead into gold, earth into water, and initiate chemical reactions.
>>
Ok. Let's discuss Satanism and the perks and disadvantages.
>>
>>30399077
I understood the difference between MF and Alchemy, but I wanted to know why exactly MF couldn't branch into something similar to Alchemy.

I don't understand how Fire/Water/Air/Earth control is more related to shifting the atomic structure than MF. It just seems to me that Alchemy would branch off of MF, not elemental control.

If it's balance or setting stuff, I understand. Still seems odd, but I can accept that.
>>
>>30399107
If Asher were to follow LaVeyan Satanism, that would be fine with me.

Turning the 9 Statements and 11 Rules into Oaths would also be fine with me.

I don't think that it's a good idea to turn the Sins into Oaths. It would be perfectly fine for Asher to attempt to observe them as part of his beliefs, but turning them into magically binding oaths would be disadvantageous for him and I think he's smart enough to realize that.
>>
>>30399192
But isn't LaVeyan more or less atheism? I would like to summon some of Lucifers warriors. Make a pact with them and offer them something they want or make trustful and wonderful allies.
>>
>>30399228
Oh. I would rather not go for that kind of Satanism.

We already get a bonus towards summons from the ancient Sumerians because of our name. I'd rather stick with that than go for Lucifer warriors out of nowhere.

Or go with LaVeyan since it's already more or less exactly how Asher lives.
>>
>>30399274
But you're being contradicting. LaVeyan is basically atheism. You can't have that and still have the bonus for Sumerians.
>>
>>30399009
Alchemy would be snazzy, though I'd prefer our next couple Limit Points be spent towards leveling up our current stuff. I'd personally like 1-2 Spells, probably the ones with Oaths attached, at Adept before we grab anything new.

>>30399107
Which variety of Satanism are you thinking of?

LaVeyan would give us some good targets for Oaths, and might also do some other stuff. Also, it fits well with how Asher operates.

Theistic Satanism would open a lot of metaphorical doors, we could negotiate with demons better as well as other benefits for connecting closer to our magic. But it might close doors as well and we'd probably have to pay in some manner for these benefits, nothing comes for free.
>>
>>30399318
You guys could actually feasibly have both forms of satanism. Though either one may lock you out of Sumerian.

You'll want to save some of this for when you're more "noteworthy."
>>
>>30399318
I never said that I'd like to gun for LaVeyan, I just said that I wouldn't mind going with most of it.

-1 = Dont want
0 = Wouldn't mind
1 = Want.

LaVeyan is a 0. Satanism like you're saying is a -1. Sumerian is also a 0.

I'm voting for the Satanism that let's us summon demons. Sorry if others disagree. I do understand what problems you might have with that. But I feel like the advantages outweigh the problems.

This isn't Shin Megami Tensei...
>>
>>30399433
No, it isn't. But it fits this setting fairly well. Also I just like the art.
>>
Can someone explain to me, clearly, why you want Satanism? I'm not seeing it.
It looks like a giant mess; dealing with all the negative aspects of summoning in full force for not much gain, possibly alienating our mage allies, and locking us out of Sumerian which is throwing away our name bonus when Sumerian is confirmed for being pretty damn powerful.
>>
>>30399540

Powerful I'll give you, but there is no way in hell demons are loyal beings.

That it will give us knowledge beyond all other options is also just speculation.

>>
>>30399663
Depends on what fiction we summon them from. If we were to summon them from SMT universe, then they would ask for an item, heal or magic (drain in this case) and they would devote themselves to us.
>>
>>30399681
I do not believe that it is best for Asher. If you can explain why it is, then I will gladly support it because I really don't have anything that I actively want myself.

As it is now, though, I see Satanism and demons galore as a terrible idea. Constant backstab attempts and plotting from our summons, alienation of our current most valuable assets, and the inevitable "lol fuck the succubus what could go wrong" happening.
>>
>>30399740
This is not the SMT universe. Summoning thins from modern fiction is difficult, inefficient, and generally not worth it.

The metal door locks closed as the blades pick up, bringing up the altitude. The ruined buildings of the drowned city become less imposing, just a bit further away. Most everyone slumps into a seat and buckles in with Eshe taking the cockpit, silent in her concentration as she pilots this whirling bird.

Your body's a bit numb from your previous exertions, so you decide to walk around a bit, steadying your feet against the shit of the helicopter into forward motion. At a window you can see the chaos taking place upon the main road out of the city.
The barricades established outside of the city to keep The Followers stand out against their flames, fire, and lightning as beings of insurmountable power fight each other amidst concentrated gunfire. The explosive percussion of AM rifles tears through the air though muted between the metal door and beat of the chopper's blades.

Hot Rod seems to get antsy, leaving his seat to scrounge the munitions, nobody saying anything about it.
Aerin's body still looks pretty busted at this point, her right arm hanging limp. Not bleeding but still effectively useless for now. She slouches in her seat shaking intermittently, her lips shuddering in pain.
Helia takes deep calm breaths as she's been so keen on. There's a grime of tar and filth accentuating her body, dirtying what clothes she has left from this whole mess. You're all getting out of here though, alive.

You faintly feel Fara's presence. It feels like she too is in pain.

I'm not sure we should try to draw things from the SMT universe, I think magic operates differently there, we might have the same problem we'd have with summoning Darth Vader or a Jedi and trying to have the Force work.

>>30399743
Not the guy you were responding to, but if we took this route Demons would be inclined to serve us without trying to fuck us over. And in a good number of varieties of Theistic Satanism Satan wants a more equal relationship with his followers than most religions.

It's an interesting option.
>>

I feel like saying something here could even further cement our position as Lord of the Minions.
Maybe say that we're glad they all made it through that? I dunno. What do y'all think would be good to say here to enhance emotional dependence.

>>30399885
That sounds a bit more reasonable. If we can get some more info from Dran about it so that it's not just us anons squabbling over speculation, that would be awesome.

Until then, I'm going to hope it works like you say, but vote against it until I have something more concrete than hope.

Awesome.
>>
>>30400005
Well, it's a good source to find Mythological figures and monsters, we just have to remember to summon what they based it off of rather than the Demon from the game itself.
>>
>>30399973
But that's how it works with all summons.

We don't have to go for demons to do that.
>>
>>30400005
Eh, sorry.

They're definitely not the exact same. Less binary. You're also not going to be randomly fusing them into other things.

I'd think of it more as a combination between SMT's demons when it comes to the types of theings accessible and shadowrun's spirits that are far closer to the ether. In any case you're not worrying about any pacts right now because you need to summon the things before contracting in the case that you want to contract.

You sigh gently, tapping into that feeling as you let your power flow, focusing on Fara as her silence slowly transitions into fragmented whispers.

Staring out beyond the window further chaos unfolds. As you look on, you can't quite tell how long it's been ongoing. The greatest shortcoming of magic seems to be the duration.
You can see a few of the glowing figures withdraw, removing themselves from the fray.

Tonight's battle draws to a close it seems. Your chopper is clear of the aftermath, invisible amongst the dark colors of the sky.

slowly growing more full until you can feel her near and hear her speak again. You notice at once that your body isn't suffering from quite as much burn as before.
[Thank you Asher... I wasn't quite feeling... Well. May I... May I have more?]
>You've topped Fara off to Grade 2. She's requesting more from you...

Fuck it. Fara is the only thing standing between us and death most of the time.

3 for now.
>>
>>30400400
>Grade 4 in which she'll be able to pick up new properties and utilize any enchantments that you'll allow her. Other than that, you aren't quite sure...

She's shown herself to be trustworthy and reliable.

Give her a mental show of affection, the telepathic equivalent of a hug or a headpat, and bring her up.

Though I can live with doing it one step at a time for now, I'm not in a big rush.

Should we start charging up the Ravens as well?

They're good scouts. We might need them.

>>30400400

Also, can we do that Oath of Defense for Ice now?

Seems like Ice=Good shields would be something he would come to think after he stopped himself from getting swiss-cheesed with it.

No matter what we choose, thank her, show her some affection and kindness, she did a good job and she saved our ass from lightning, that deserves a reward.

Also, charge up our Raven scout, you never know when it'll come in handy, and it won't even stand out in Vegas since they're common there.
>>
>>30400594
I think the popular Oath was some variation of the Sculptor, which isn't necessarily defense. I look forward to slamming a torrent of water into a bone and freezing it into a beautiful 'tree' on top of them. (yeah, most Bones can probably break out, but wasting their time until assistance can arrive is what we probably want to be doing with Bones).

I just said defense because I couldn't remember the actual name we decided on and it more or less got the point across.

You oblige the Banshee as the remnants of the city-scape begin to slowly draw new existence in the horizon.
Pouring power into her next threshold begins to hit your nerves like a slowly warming iron, causing your breath to quicken as you bear with the surreal feeling of heat running through your body.

With Fara's recent actions in good faith, literally saving your life before your loss of consciousness, you give her your gratitude in the transition of power.
A simple thank you and you can feel a frost forming upon your shoulders as her whispy form comes into being.
“You are very welcome, Asher...” Her fingers of frost trace gradually down your chest before dispersing as she returns to the ether.
“Woah,” Hot Rod whispers under the dull beat of the heli-blades. He must've seen Fara.

[So...] She seems to churn a bit with her new power and increasing awareness forming. Well, this is it if anything.
[I was human once. No, I was never human... I...]
(Fara, you don't need to worry about what you are.)
[But...] She trails off, her voice much stronger than before within your mind, much more resolute. [I am a shade, yes? Not a human, but once was... Oh, this is confusing. May I kill someone for you? It'll calm my frozen nerves.]

Your gaze dips down to the fa-reaching distance, the city's disappearing by the minute. In half an hour you won't be able to see it anymore.
Shaking your arms down, you let some of the Burn go.

(No, not now, not yet. You'll need to wait, and the people here are off-limits.)
[Should I protect them?]
(I'll decide whether that is necessary. You only need to concern yourself with me.)
>>
You turn, looking back to Hot Rod as he hoists about that ridiculous firearm in this ridiculously cramped space,”Could you watch where you're going with that thing? Set it down somewhere?”
The teen's mouth drops, and he hurriedly puts it to the floor.
“Safety off?”
“I'm not an amateur dude, I've been hunting before.” He slides the rifle underneath the seats, securing it with belts for passengers.
“So, that was your summon thing, right?”
You simply nod,[My name is Fara.] “Her name is Fara.” you put your gaze back outside and swallowing shallowly as you think of what comes next.
“That was actually pretty awesom... I'm uh, still trying to figure out what all I should do...” The kid's vision shifts to Eshe in the pit and Aerin in her seat,”The other two don't look too good. They've got the shakes something bad. Think I saw Eshe bleeding a bit.”

"I think Eshe will be alright, she'd have told us if she needed to be patched up.

There any medical supplies in here? It's always good to have them around."

We should also check on Aerin, make sure she'll be fine. If a splint of some kind would make the healing go easier we can probably make one out of what we have around, and ice if needed.

And then check on Eshe, see if she needs anything, thank her for the ride, ask if they know we stole their helicopter, that sort of thing.
>>
>>30401267
Dzelarhons is a real mythological figure you fucking nimrod.

>>
>>30401301
I'm trying to find anything on her that isn't from SMT and the best I could find is a wikipedia page about Haida mythology that lists Dzalarhons as being associated with frogs and volcanos. She came across the Pacific with her husband and 6 canoes of people.

An Encyclopedia of Goddesses and Heroines states that she avenged animals who were needlessly treated cruelly by people, sending fire down the river.

Absolutely nothing about healing. She's a fucking nature spirit that blasts fire at people.
>>
“Do we have any medical supplies?” You turn to the kid and follow his eye of concern, discerning the edge of Eshe's odd form through the window to the cockpit.
“I might've seen something from when I was reloading the rifle. I know a little first aid but not much to be honest.” He seems unsure himself.
“See if you can't find something, we should get Aerin into a splint.” At that word he goes to the back of the chopper to search.

You take one last look out of the window before moving ahead into the cockpit, pushing through.
Looking over you see exactly what Hunter was talking about. Eshe's body suppresses a tremble, blood in her seat but no source of the wound. She glances up at you through the large black eyes of her altered self.
“Ah, h-hello Asher.” There's a shake even within her voice as she greets you, her attention soon returned back to flying this rig.
“Hot Rod said you were hurt. Are you okay?”
Eshe nods slowly,”Ah, yes, yes. Just dealing with the ache.”

You lean back against the partition, bracing yourself against the occasional rumbles of the wind,”The ache?”
“It is what we of the bone must bear when we use our magic. Our bones themselves hurt, ache, and even break and bleed if we go too far.”

“Our powers are painful aren't they?”

“You get nothing without sacrifice. Nothing without conviction. I am proud that I am capable of the things that I am.” She lets out a shuddering sigh. “Even if it does hurt.”

You look back through the window, seeing Hot Rod help out Aerin, you keep your eye on the two of them, seeing if there's anywhere that you may help. “Do they know we stole this bird?”
>>
“They will know soon enough. Asher, you hold a summon, yes?”
“Yes.” Fara answers, forming frost upon the air into a single glowing eye.

“Ah, what is your name, powerful spirit?”
“Fara”
“Asher has been kind to you?”
“I suppose.” A bit of teasing from Fara.
“If I may ask, Fara and Asher, should a missile be fired upon us, could I count on you to freeze this vehicle?”

“Why?” You turn back, Fara's frozen eye meeting yours for a moment before you both look to Eshe.
“We have learned of those that seek heat. The other option is that I throw my own life away to meet it. “

Ice and water spells are different. It won't restrict you forging weapons out of water with Materia Firma.
>>
>>30401799
The oaths we're talking about restrict the use of the given subject; that's why we DON'T want an oath on summoning, since it restricts what seems like is going to be Asher's primary interest.

>>
Water a shit. Light manipulation is pure
>>
>>30401876

An Oath is assigned as something practiced to reinforce or restrict to increase the power of what it is assigned to.
It does not force you into one spell category.
>>
>>30401835
Oh. Well then sure. Let's ice oath it up. i suppose we won't really be "building ice objects with the intent of harm" very often right?

Also is it possible in anyway for Asher to learn healing either through the use of summons or the various states of water?
>>
>new people voting without understanding how oaths work
>>
>>30401902
It will be possible through more advanced stages of either.
>>
>>30401805
We could take Water and Summoning to Divine. The estimate on OVERLIMIT points was 3 or 4.
I think that Alchemy or Materia Firma might also make good Divine rank candidates.

Putting oaths on Ice would help to work towards that.

>>
>>30401980
That depends. Can we just make an icy mist throughout the cabin and such? Cool everything down to the point it loses us? Maybe a sheet of ice along the landing things. Maybe just a 5ft thick cocoon of ice and try and make it thicker before we hit the ground?

What about creating firewater?

A magic that literally bears both qualities if burning, combustion, cobductivity and an ability to turn into steam or freeze?

Over Magic is some crazzzy high magic stuff. Whether you guys want to specialize or mix less potent magics you're still just gaining more power.
>>
>>30402098
No dice, Dran. Most people seem to only want water and nothing else.

>>
>>30402149

>>
>>30402156
That is the least imaginative thing possible. We are going to be able to fuck physics and all rational interpretations of reality and you want lasers?
>>
>>30402149
Either one of them is a good thing. It's entirely possible to just brute force everything.

Take Violet for example. Maxed out her mind control and summons. It was ridiculously effective.

Putting a ton of points into summoning would let us do both. Have a couple big summons like future Fara that can brute force things but also have the ability to throw together any kind of weaker summon we could need for a situation.
>>
>>30402107
I got non beef against anything else apart from fire. Fire is literally the most limited of all the magics. Why can't we control the water in someones brain and just pop them? I'm not sure what other elements we have access to, unless it is up to the imagination in which case...
>>
>>30402098
>Further apps:

Unleash a wave of burning water that washes through the street, melting the tires of cars to the pavement before turning into steam and condensing just above the street before falling back down as a fiery rain.

Then finishing off by freezing into a solid sheet of physical burning.

Just an idea. Powerful nerves can pretty much induce SAN checks.
>>
>>30402190
Lasers are simple and effective. We can grab them and use them forever.
>>
>>30402208
>Why can't we control the water in someones brain and just pop them?
This shit was covered on the first day.

>*Spells that directly affect a human body requires direct contact. This means that water manipulation CAN be used to exsanguinate someone, though you'd need to make direct contact and muscle through their magical resistance(aura/AT field/Chi/) This means that it can be much more efficient to launch a shard of ice into their throat when going for a kill. Close range is never recommended for Evoker Nerves.
>>
>>30402211
I liked the Napalm Steam idea
>>
>>30402208
Advanced fire will open up other things from mythos that fire is associated with.

Rebirth, purification, destruction, change, etc.

Humans have natural magic resistance that prevents direct manipulation of their forms without a costly breach or direct contact.

You could shake someone's hand and boil their blood though.
>>
>>30402251
I really want to rank up water and illusion for water clones and ice mirrors and fog and all kinds of lovely stuff.
>>
>>30402208
Fire means a lot more than just combustion, it's a force of creativity, innovation, and yes, destruction as well.
>>
>>30402211
I like this.

I like it. Alot.

It is pain that can be manipulated, moved around, even seen.

Mist it, work to keep people from touching it. Make it seem like normal mist. Then, when the actual ambush happens, stop controlling it (save to keep it from hurting your allies), and it'll condense on them just from them being there.

I like this idea.
>>
>>30402270
We could make some simple thoughtforms that look like Asher. They would essentially be water clones since we're using water as the base of our summons already.
>>
Can we at least wait until we have a fucking LIMIT POINT before talking about this shit?
>>
>>30402297
they'd be somewhat independent though
we want absolute control
>>
>>30402098
Can we develop our oath abilities beyond the initial boost, or are we restricted to just forever being locked at that point.

Granted, we'd have to be good enough to justify these 'boosts', but I think it'd be worth it~
>>
>>30402349
We can force summons to do what we want.

Fara is half thoughtform half mythos, and the point of a water/mist clone is to have the minimum amount of power invested in it so it isn't wasted when someone pops it instead of us. Independence comes from giving them more power.
>>
>>30402432
Well in that case, send that missile at use so we can crash in the warzone already!
>>
>>30402410
It's already been answered. Oaths offer no positive bonus to skills at Divine Rank.

Oaths cannot bring a skill to Divine rank, as it requires an OVERLIMIT point.

Once you bring a skill to Divine, Oaths are 100% negative.

“Fara and I doing everything as usual huh?”
Eshe throws you a hard sideways glare, and you just smirk right back at her.”I'll do it. You can't pilot and beat down a missile at the same time, right?”
“Good.” She returns her attention to the controls.

“So, this bird got enough fuel to take us all the way?”
“Not sure. First time I've flown out this way.” Seems that Eshe's capable of being a bit of a smartass too. That gets a chuckle out of you,”Well, let us know if we need to drop out of this thing early.” You go back to the cabin, bracing yourself for a moment as a gust rocks everything. You see that Hunter's succeeded in getting Aerin in a splint as you saunter up to her, the beat up woman looking up to you.
There's not anything piteous or pleading in her eyes, more of a strange mirth, a fire of excitement actually. Not exactly what you'd have expected.

“What's up with you Aerin? Ache too?” You ask, wearing a cool face. Hell you feel like you own the place.
She nods, a slightly mad grin forming upon her tired face. “Hurts like a bitch but I'll make it. Thanks back there though. If you hadn't distracted that guy... I wouldn't be here right now.”
She chuckles at some joke that's lost on you.

“What's wrong?” You ask with a slowly raising eyebrow.
She shakes her head slowly,” Nothing... It's just that this is all pretty... Ah, what's the word? Interesting. I punched that guy like a gunshot before he got me. I don't know...”
You bring up a hand and curl your fingers closed as you form frost upon the air,”It's power. Amazing, right?”

Hot Rod looks between the two of you, smiling and laughing a bit himself,”It's like a game or a dream, right? We're like comic-book superheroes.”
Aerin smiles,”I know, right? What else.. There's a lot of things that we must be capable of.”

The three of you discuss your abilities as Eshe flies the bird. The steady meditative breaths of Helia dulled by the beat of the blades outside, the occasional rumble of a gust of wind.

=============================

It's a couple hours later when you hear Eshe call back from the front, sounding a lot better than before. Even Aerin's since tried her hand at healing herself, returning some faculty to her arm until she started to get those shakes again. She'll need more time.

“We are running empty, taking us lower for landing!”

You rise from your seat and peer out of the window, grateful for the moonlight shining down upon the world.
Below is nothing but what appears to be sand, cactus and the occasional ugly as sin tree.

A desert in the middle of June. Lovely. Just fucking Lovely.

That doesn't really mean 'infinite water,' just whatever happens to be in the air we walk though so 'not much;' it will help keep us from getting dehydrated though, plus AC? (AC that makes our nerves hot, so kind of counterintuitive, but a little bit of nerve heat would be worth not passing out from heatstroke in the desert)
>>

Then create and maintain a thin layer of ice on our bodies. Noob grade ice armor where the sole purpose is to stay cool enough to allow more water to condense on it as we walk through it. you're getting overly stuck on your condensation idea. We are hydrokinetic, we just can pull any moisture in the air to us physically. The problem is, there is none, because it's the desert. We just need to keep whatever water is on our skin chilled with our power, ice is overkill.

You let out a deep sigh as the land approaches the metal bird,”This is going to be a long walk.”
The chopper touches down and Eshe comes into the cabin, still bearing her fish-like form.
“We are still far from LA, do any of you know where we are?”

Helia stands up, stretching a bit from her time sitting down,”We were on a direct route to Vegas, right? I'd be willing to bet we're in the Mojave desert if we've got mountains around us.”
“How'd you figure on that?” You ask.
Helia shrugs,” I've gone hiking out here before with my ex.” She smiles to herself, thinking back to past days.
“It'll be rough without any camel packs, or tents...” She looks to her own skin,”I'm going to be peeling after this.”

Eshe takes a seat, squishing her slimy behind into one of the cabin's harnesses,”We'll figure out something with Asher's magic. We'll wear mud if we need to.” She considers something for a moment with those alien eyes blinking.
“On second thought,” Eshe smiles with dagger-like teeth,” We could use this time to train you all. Hot Rod needs to complete himself, and the four of you should figure out your own solutions to the heat. It will help you in the future, I am sure.”

Hot Rod eyes the rifle he stowed away,”Not sure how much I'm liking the sound of that. What do you expect from us?”
“For you to decide for yourself. To change or make the heat no longer matter. Figure it out, but we rest now. I'll need strength to change from this form.”

Cactus! We need to do this. Might even unlock plant manipulation as something to learn if we get good enough at extracting water from them and realize that plants are mostly water anyway.
>>
>>30403101
yes, draining some cacti is viable, though we need to wonder if it is worth carrying a load of additional water around with us, instead of just conserving our energy. Need to balance having enough for defense given the chance of ambush, versus having to carry it, either via power and incurring strain, or just physically in some kind of container, and being tired from that (maybe a bone would like to carry a fuel container [thoroughly cleaned via magic] that we can load with water, I'm sure they'd like something to drink)

>>30403167

>[] Try to give Hunter a tip with some kind of mythos.
I kinda wanna do this, but I can't think of anything specifically.
>>
You unlatch the door and force it open, letting the tepid air of the desert inside as you hop out.
“Where are you going?” You hear Helia call after you.
“Gonna see what I can do about water. Wanna help?”

The woman jumps out of the helicopter, her veins flaring with a bit of power, sending her a bit farther than you'd think normal. She stumbles a bit, acquainting herself with the sand and loose, dry dirt.
“We need something to carry the water with...” You look about, and think about exactly what had been within the cabin. Should've thought about this before you jumped out.
Your eyes are drawn to the chopper itself. Should be pretty lightweight overall, right? You point to a decent panel.
“Bend that into a container, make sure it won't leak from the bottom. I'll worry about evaporation, you just concern yourself with the shape.”
“Asher,” She looks to you, the whites of her eyes bearing a subtle silver-white illumination. It's like the moon now that you think of it,”That's a bit big, right? How-”
“Hot Rod or Eshe can deal with it. Good training, right?”

Satisfied with that answer, the two of you get to work in the moonlit desert bathed with the occasional tinges of the aurora's color. It's quiet work with exception of Helia's part of the labor, tearing and bending the panel into shape with her own hands.
>>
You approach some of the nearest cacti, feeling the presence of water locked away within its body and cell walls.
After a few pricks, you make contact with the surface of its flesh. You feel some kind of resistance as you assert your will against the plant-life, yet it gives way quickly as you briefly freeze it to destroy the cell walls, and then pull out pure, clean water from the plant, letting it fill your half-empty water bottle. Moving onto the next, you repeat the process over and over again as you let the waters fall into the sand.

When Helia presents the container, you draw the water up from the ground and throw it in, the sand undisturbed.

You head back inside the chopper, giving the sky one last glance. Helia jumps on inside and you close the door, the thunder of its force rippling through the cabin.
“What were you two out there doing?” Hot Rod peers through half-closed eyes, everyone else rather sound asleep.
“Just getting water ready for our trip tomorrow.” You glance down at the floor. The chopper's skis or blades would be useful as a ski now that you think of it. Could make hauling the water easier. You'll get to that later though.

“Geeze dude, you've gotten pretty serious about all this,” Hot Rod laughs a bit under his breath, shutting his eyes for sleep.
You take one of the empty seats near no one in particular,”Just doing what needs to be done.”
Helia seats herself next to you, giving you a kind of tired smile with her magic holding the Glasgow shut. Her clothes still bearing the grime of asphalt tar. “You're pretty reliable, you know that?”

You frown a little. Not the person you'd necessarily value hearing this from the most but...

well, I would consider that the inelegant way of doing it. My first instinct is to have the space leading towards the PoI lead to the space behind him, etc. Imagine bringing two points of a ribbon together so that moving along it, you no longer reach the middle, but just move directly from point A to point B. Obviously this is great for transport as well, if you are trying to get from A to B, instead of protect the middle.

In my early drafts Veins were actually absurdly powerful. I split Vein powers between Bones and Nerves and then limited the magnitude that veins are capable of.
Then Bones got the unique ability of shapeshifting and Nerves got the unique ability of mind control even if the latter is rarer at this point.

An explanation with lolis.

Bones - Shapeshift to become a loli.
Nerves - Summon up a loli harem.
Veins - Partition off a chunk or your soul and make a loli tulpa that loves you no matter what.

Bones OP pls nerf

“Thanks, You're not too bad yourself. Keep working at it.” You close your eye and hear Helia shuffling in her seat, getting comfortable.
“I will. World's gotten scary, hasn't it?”
“It's always been. We've just ignored it.” You say, letting yourself slip into your dreams...

You feel a sparse emptiness around you, occuppied by other radiant figures. You see the interior of the Helicopter as well as you remember it. Blinking red lights now and then against dull areas of metal, subdued textures that are surreal in how they're impressed upon and then in the next moment left completely blank, like an artist that became lazy in filling in the background that would go unnoticed anyway.

[Hey Asher, asleep so soon?] A figure in white speaks to you, looking out of the window to a landscape of black. [This place is pretty dry, but I'll try my best here.] At her word, the wind blows in sand through the window. The wind stops once you realize that a window should be there.
(What is.. happening?)
The figure of white turns back to you. [Oh, you're just dreaming. People see this place sometimes when they dream. The others have told me.]
(Others? Who?) You ask, moreso demanding an answer.

At once, the helicoptor dissolves away, leaving just you and the figure of white.
[They come. Though they will speak one at a time to you, Asher.]
(You haven't answered, who-)

The world comes back into focus with a beach. Untouched, unmolested by human play, rolling waves pushing back the sand, and the sun set high in the sky beating down with visible rays.
>>
[She comes] The white figure looks out to the sea, and your eyes follow.
In the distance, you see a woman walking upon the water. At first, you think she's human, only to realize that she's far more human than you'd like. You aren't quite sure exactly but as she approaches, she becomes all the more vivid, all the more knowing and then suddenly divine.

Standing upon the gentle wash of the waves as they reach onto the beach, she seems at perfect peace with her element, riding them up and down in smooth motions, not daring to recede with their master so close.

“Young Child that bears my name. Of the Followers guided by the star of morning. I greet you as the lady that treads upon the birth of sea.”

She speaks, and her words echo across this place. The inland trees rustle with her voice, the sea breaks and even the sands hiss with the unbound waves pushing them in and out.

Be polite, even in dreams there's no reason to be rude to divine entities. Bow, don't get on our hands and knees or anything, but bow.

It's an honor to make your acquaintance Asherah, mother of the Gods."
>>

This...
>>
>>30404707
Yeah... going with this.
>>
You open your mouth, finding that you too have taken on a form akin to flesh as the radiant white's vanished. You suddenly feel alone as you stand before this amazing creature.
“W-what... is happening?” You find that the words escape your mouth as a bead of sweat drips from your brow. As it trickles its way down, you find that you can see through both of your eyes here.

The divine woman kneels down upon her waters, still towering over you in varying dimensions.
“We are speaking.”

Slowly, you nod“Y-yes. Yes we are... Wait, bearing your name?” Something clicks,” You're Lady Asherah?”

The divine woman smiles, light like that of the sun through waves beams from her lips,”Indeed Young Child.”

Well. Four days ago you were another jackass scrambling between a part time job and college. Three days ago you learned about magic, and right now you're talking to a goddess from the ancient Sumerian beliefs.
Right off hand, you recall that she's a mother of other Gods and a consort to many more.
You nod your head in some sort of awe as this all sinks in,”Why do you seek me? I could not possibly be worthy of something like this.”
You'd also pretty much defined yourself as an athiest or at the very least agnostic.

The woman stares down upon you, her pupils like eclipsed suns, her features ever shifting,” Indeed, you are not, Young Child. However you reach for power beyond your growing understanding, and you have a heart as changing as fickle as my own sea.
I speak to ask that you show yourself as worthy of my blessings.”
>>
The awe sticks to you,”What would you have of me?”
Asherah's unwavering gaze remains locked upon you as she speaks her next words,”I have long been scorned by my last husband, Yahweh, that took a mortal to bear divine child. His followers have long forgotten me. Remind them, and I will whisper you the secrets of life and the sea.”

“How do you intend for me to remind them?”

Asherah's smiles turn wicked as the seas in the distance turn stormy, the waves increasing in intensity with this island untouched.
“You will return their life to my water during their service, speaking of my name and how they have scorned me.”

>How do you respond? There is another after this...

Depending on which culture you're talking about she has somewhere around 70-80 children.

>>
>>30405277
Hey, don't forget she's got a deathgod to her name too: Mot. (fun trivia from wikipedia, the word 'mate' like in chess, descends from the same meaning for death)
>>
You snap out of your awe at the incredulity of the task she's presented you. With a quick double-take at what you just heard you kind of shy away from the whole matter, raising your hands in a bit of “hold on.”
“So, you want me to -and correct me if I'm wrong- go to a church during service, and drown people while praising your name.”

The goddess slowly nods her head,”The one that leads them in ignoring my name. Return them to me, and I shall speak for you if you lack the words.
This must be done for my favor, Young Child, you will agree by performing this most sacred of acts to mark my return.
Till then, I shall not speak to you.”She looks away, breaking the gaze for the first time. “The other comes. Young Child, please help me be remembered.”
Asherah, a mother of gods bows her head to the sands of the beach, bows to you, and the world disappears once more.
[Now the other.] The radiant white spins around you before vanishing once more.

Scenery falls into place, a fireplace with a ram's head mounted above the mantle, two cushy recliners come into being. Cold presses against your back, chilling you uncomfortably.

Beyond the other high-backed recliner, you hear a voice, gentle yet powerful bid you,”Please, have a seat Asher, we have much to speak of.”

My main worry is that drowning a priest while preaching about Ancient Gods tends to garner attention, OverWatch is looking for that sort of thing.

You do as your told, treading forth carefully, especially after that last one. What's it going to be this time?

You let yourself sink into the velvety red cushions, already rather warm from the fire. You find that it's actually just the right distance away from the flame to keep you toasty, while the cold is too distant to nip at you.
“You appear to have me at a disadvantage...” You look towards your host, searching for a name at once though you shouldn't quite know.
One of the logs of the fire-place moves, falling into a bed of embers.

The man opposite to you wears a red bathrobe falling low enough to conceal is modesty along with red slippers bearing an odd split at the front. He looks to you with a grin that you'd assign to a kindly uncle with some plans for his nephew.
“Yes, it does indeed seem that I do.” Leaning back in his own seat with a clear sense of what's going on. He looks you right in the eye and adjusts again, straightening up a bit.

“So, do you want me to drown a priest?” You raise an eyebrow after a moment of silence.
The man raises his hand, shaking his head,”No, no, nothing so... Barbaric. Excuse me for calling you hear, but I've taken a keen interest in your personality.” The man gives you a little point and an affable smile, a bit of a twinkle in his eye.
“My personality?” You ask, skepticism intensifying,” What do you know about me?”

“Why, everything. It's a part of my business. I know that you've been alone for a very long time in your life and that you tend to keep people at a distance. That you've wank yourself into a coma some days thinking about nothing quite in particular.
I know that you're absolutely thrilled with this circumstance even in the face of your mounting skepticism despite the fact that you're learning not to doubt anything in this world anymore.”
>>
The man sips at a cup of red wine he hadn't been holding before,”Asher, I know about you. Don't get me wrong though, it's just my business.”

You feel your cheeks flushing, the hairs standing at the back of your neck. Everything this man, this... whoever, whatever he is said is true...
“Who, are you?”

The man flashes you a little bit of a smile, when you realize that you can't quite discern his skin color.
“Asher, you already know who I am. You knew as soon as you arrived.”

Now, if we can still get the knowledge from her for doing the REMOVE PRIEST job without her becoming a possessive psycho doubtful, then I wouldn't mind doing it as a one time thing while sticking with Lucy.

Though Lucifer did call it barbaric, so it's also a matter of whether it would effect dealings with him.

All in all, probably not worth it, but something to consider.
>>
Ew he's been watching us masturbate?

I don't think she'll go full possessive psycho, she has a grudge that has had 2000 years to build, she's understandably pissed, she's not that crazy.

Wait. Why don't we just do BOTH of their requests?

You stare at the man for some time as the fire crackles, trying to see something within his features, the color of his skin changing and seeming the norm every time you refocus on him.
There was a name that you had in your mind, but you weren't quite sure of it until now.
The name...”Lucifer.” You enunciate every syllable and the man's smile widens.

With a simple nod he sips at the red wine once more before setting his glass down upon a table.
“Indeed, that is one, though I have many. Satan, Pan, Prometheus, Loki. Aliases, other forms and personas. We're all the same thoughtform when it comes down to our story and what we represent.”
He gestures to you, and a filled wine glass appears in your hand.

“Despite the stories, I am as lucid as you happen to be at the moment, I may have to thank Asherah for taking the brunt of the surprise out of you.”

You calmly begin to sit at the cup until you stop halfway.
“Ah, better to be cautious in dealing with me? Healthy skepticism, however I have invited you here as a guest, do drink. The wine possesses no unspoken contract between us.”

You set the glass down,”I'd like to hear what this is about first, we'll toast if we happen to agree on anything.”

Lucifer chuckles, full of mirth,”Indeed, this is why I'm interested in you Asher. To the point.”
The man clears his throat, and looks into the fire-place, the flames reflected in his eyes.
>>
“I'll spare you the tiresome exposition based upon my legends. You are a summoner and I am not so proud as to admit that I am nothing more than that. Existing within the realms of the grand collective human subconscious that keeps your reality moving.” He glances to you, not necessarily looking you directly in the eye.
“That is what I am, what the others are, in a sense you are the same, only with flesh and one mind and soul.”

“I'm not exactly following this. Why call me here?”

“That Asher, is to deal with you. A summoner is valuable to us, and we- valuable to a summoner. You can bring us through the border of human fantasy and reality. We can aid you.”
“What's the price?”

“The price is negotiable. My fellows are sovereign as am I. However for a show of good faith, I would have you vanquish ignorance, rather, doing as The Followers you've joined do. Teach others magic.”

We can still do whatever Asherah wants.

"That is a price I am willing to pay. Though I will need to be careful in these matters.

Any preference on who I enlighten?"

So, by teach magic he does mean to enlighten them in the same way that the Followers gave us magic, right?

>>30406268
Probably not the same guy, how would he have gotten to Vegas before us and then started preaching.

And Lucifer isn't asking us the nicest thing either, learning magic scars you.
>>
>>30406268
You do realize that saying yes to Lucifer is agreeing to torture tons of people, many of them to death, yeah?

I don't really have a problem with either, but Lucifer's deal is far more bloody.
>>
>>30406308
Don't be ridiculous, Anon. He wants more people to learn magic and you can't learn the magic if you're dead.
>>
>>30406268
Just letting you know that "teaching" magic is the same as torturing them with the whole "Mark of Torment" thing. Not like that matters cause Asher was going to do that anyways.

That we can.

Hell, we might even be able to do them at the same time.

“What do you get out of this?” That's the most important question here, and it's met with a smirk on the man's part.
“I'll be frank with you, it's intriguing for me, to see the true limits of human potential. What they're able to do when they're truly pushed to action. Feats of strength, divine inspiration, becoming something more. If knowing about personalities like you is my business, then pushing people to understand who what they're capable of is something that passes the time.”

“Curiosity then? I don't really think I'm buying that, but you promise your fellows, knowledge as well?” Your hand idles around the wine-glass flexing and relaxing your fingers around it.

“Indeed. Though you'll need to do things for me here and there. Give and take, you needn't even do something as ghoulish as worship me or slaughter cattle in my name. Just relieve people of the ignorance they bear of their own potential.”

“You'll need to tell me why one of these days but you know what?” You raise the glass,” You're alright.”
“Quite alright yourself, Asher.” He raises his own glass, and as the two of you drink, darkness slips into the room as it slowly falls apart.
“Till next time, my friend.”
Everything goes does until a shining hand reaches down, that you instinctively take.
[Come on Asher, time to awaken.]

You rouse, opening up your eye, half-expecting your other to have returned.

Everyone else seems to be getting ready this morning, time to start walking....

Without a proper direction to go, the five of you walk onward to the north. You drag water from plants, squeezing cacti dry while the others eat on what's left. After a few days everyone's sick of Cacti, save from Eshe that's been catching and eating raw lizards and snakes.

At night, it's warm enough to abstain from starting a fire. Eshe warns against it anyway, easy to see at night in a desert.

You keep yourself cool for the most part, even though you keep burning yourself out after thirty minutes with a grueling hour wait.
As the days pass, you get better at maintaining a chilled layer of water against your skin, eventually easing it to two hour periods with just thirty minutes rest as you pace yourself.

Hunter lugs his AM rifle on a sleigh of salvaged Helicopter parts along with a bit of ammo and your water reservoir.

Everyone starts to build up a pretty bad stink and an irritable attitude around ten days later.

Then one morning...

Helia's morning meditations are interrupted, as she sits cross-legged in the sand her veins flash blue a few times before maintaining that color... A sapphire blue...? Where have you see-
“Hello my friends, how are you doing? It is Friend.” Friend's words from Helia's mouth, lacking his subdued African accent.

Eshe seems less surprised,”How are you doing friend?” She grinds away some lizard bones into a powder. For what, you don't want to know.
“I am doing well, ah, very very well. Very good things are happening!”
You sit next to Helia, looking her in the eye, as your own shock wears off,” Yeah, what's going on?”

“Well,” Helia begins,” They seem to be giving up on our cities, no more barricades for us to destoy. I hear from the others that they are withdrawing. Ah, I hope they decide to use nuclear weapons. We could do so much with even one missile.”

She wants us to drown a priest in front of his congregation. We are to remind them of Asherah, remind them that Yahweh is God of the Sky and Asherah is Goddess of the Water. They have stolen his Consort's Water, they have used it in rituals of rebirth without even a mention of her sacred name. And that for such a theft the price is measured in lives.

They will learn.

We're going full fucking demagogue on this one. And I look forward to it.

>>30406911

And things like this are part of why I love Friend.

What the hell Friend, you throw a palm to your face wiping it down to just below your nose.
“Right, yeah, so...”

“Anything else you have for us, Friend?” Eshe speaks politely despite her preoccupation.
“Ah, right... Well, I had thought to warn you. They may be drawing up where you are, Las Vegas if they go back that far. Keep on guard, watch the main road, and you know, destroy the ignorance in the people and whatever else we do.
Oh. and one more thing, to find Jackie you will need to bring her to you. Do this by... Well. Just make a scene. Hide your faces as well. I feel like a mother or something.”

“Well, it's been nice chatting, good to know that you're all well, even if miserable in a desert. Take care now.” Helia goes limp before resuming her meditations.

You squeeze your eyes shut in a pain that only someone of the modern world knows. You've all been trying to get to i15 or i40 if you're that south. Now you need to avoid that?

You could just about cry...

Hot Rod seems to be on edge about something, he keeps checking the landscape with his scope whenever everyone stops to rest. He's been doing that for a while now. At first you just though he was acting cool or something, but now you're just getting fed up with it.

“Hey, Hot Rod, what's eating you?” You stomach grumbles in irritation.
The kid looks at you, his eyes wide,”Oh, ah, Asher. Just keeping an eye out. Feel like there's something out there watching us or something. Fucking with my head.”

You take your own look at the distance shitty desert,”Sand, more sand, oh look! Rocks and quite a bit more sand.” You shake your head,”Hot Rod, if you think the sand is watching us or something...”
The kid begins to eye the sand with no small amount of suspicion,”Dude, I don't trust that shit, I don't trust this fucking sand. It's everywhere man, everywhere!”

He has a point, and we can make scouts with summoning.

It'll suck since we can't charge one up while cooling ourself down, but it's worth getting an eye in the sky, and there's actually a surprising number of birds in the desert so it won't even seem out of place.

Well, someone got the reasoning behind it.

>[] Let him go prowl around if it makes him feel better. Crazy away from everyone else would be nive too.

He's a hunter, he's named after Nimrod, I say trust his instincts on this one. If there is someone fucking with us I'd like to know about it.

Tell him to be careful, and tell him we'll get a bird or two up in the air to take a look around as well.

We have to major options, we can try for Huginn and Muginn, who would definitely make good scouts though it would draw Odin's attention. Or we could thoughtform it.

I'm personally leaning towards Mythos, I'd rather not try to reinvent the wheel when we've got perfect examples for this already.
>>
>>30407081
I'm wondering what he could be sensing that Eshe wouldn't.

>I'm personally leaning towards Mythos, I'd rather not try to reinvent the wheel when we've got perfect examples for this already.
I had the feeling scouts and decoys should be thoughtform, since they are likely to get popped by a stray bullet, and we don't need mythos beings getting upset about that, plus they are simple, so they don't need the mythos benefits or much investment in the thoughtform.

We should probably ask Eshe about the specifics of how awakening people's magic works.

We might have to main a few people in the audience in order to fulfill what Satan wants, but it should be doable, and let's face it, drowning a priest is a great opener.
>>
>>30407331
Lucifer.
>>
“Go prowl around then and check it out to your heart's content. I'll keep watch my own way. Come back at night.”
“Alright!” Hot Rod runs off, increasing his speed to a breakneck pace as Eshe's taught him out here. Likely he'll switch back to heat resistance or whatever once he's done generating distance.

Drawing from your mobile water-spring you form up a pair of ravens and send them into the sky, linking your awareness to theirs with the simple instruction of reporting any suspicious people in the area. You charge up the pair rather easily and they start to spit simple words back at you, draining nothing else from you as the waking continues.

You ask Eshe about Hot Rod's paranoia,”Wouldn't you sense someone before him? You've got more experience, right?”

Eshe shakes her head,”I am not a hunter. I'm a swimmer, and I cast lightning from my fingers.” She snaps, an arc running from her index to thumb for a moment. “A warrior of sorts, but I'm better at moving. He is a hunter, he is more sensitive than even I. You are wise to humor him.”

The rest of the day passes without issue as Hot Rod returns in the evening. He's more certain now, there are people out here with the rest of you.
“We need a trap or something that'll make them come in. How about I bury my rifle and run off without it tomorrow while the rest of you go on ahead, and... Asher, and Eshe pretend to be sick?”

You meet eye with Eshe at once, before looking back to Hot Rod. Kid's got a plan at least.

Emotional or mental trauma can do it as well as physical can do it.

So if any of them really like the priest, watching him die might be enough right there.

Omar in the first quest awakened from seeing his mom killed in front of him.
I still wanna know what the deal was with her powers. She was exploding cars from the second she got her magic. And that was while being shot at.
>>
>>30407361

Nerve. Chained reaction+combustion. She instinctively replicated the combustion of gunpowder within her gun on the gas-tank of the cars she shot with the bullet as a medium.

As for trauma, The Followers employ multiple. They like to show you something you can't possibly believe and then seal the deal by maiming you.

It's a solid plan, we draw them out some and he can hunt them down.

Can Helia manipulate the sand with her Animist schtick? That could be useful for hiding, setting up pit traps, burying enemies, and so on and so forth.

I'd rather the confrontation be at night, easier to maintain ice for stable illusions and the like then.

Oh, well that's fine, I wanted to walk in with a wave of water that moved like a berth that come before the ship, as a wall of water that keeps people away from us, then wash some up into a solid box of water that immobilizes and asphyxiates the priest (a properly applied choke puts you out in about 10 seconds, then he'll quit panicking a breath deep).

>Now I'll admit to not being very /k/, but wouldn't that fuck it up?

We'll definitely want some theatrics for this.

I say get Oath of the Sculptor, spend some time beforehand getting water where we need it beforehand, and then freezing the exits when we make our entrance. Have one of our Bones hold the priest up in front of the congregation as we force water we manipulate from the baptism thingy down his throat and let him drown in front of his flock as we preach to them.

Also, we should be able to maim people for awakening with Water we make solid with Materia Firma.

I seriously hope we take it soon.

Ice is best as a defensive option. It can make structures from Ice, and at higher levels will let us just stop things coming at us midair and all sorts of other useful stuff. Also, Ice is associated with the dead so we'll probably get some necromancy off to make distractions, unnerve the fuck out of people by raising their friends, use them as undead shields, or to ask them questions.

Stillness is a very powerful concept, and seems best suited for defensive purposes as well as setting up enemies for bigger attacks.

“I'll have Fara take the gun to you underground to avoid sand getting in it. I'll need her back as soon as possible however for when we begin the ambush.”

Hot Rod agrees that it sounds like a good idea. Aerin nods, rolling her shoulder now that she's had enough time to restore her arm. Helia nods, the sand pulling around her as she 'flexes' her power.

Eshe's the only one left, eyes on her. She smirks at the group,”Why not, if anything it will take our minds off of the heat.”

The next day, Hot Rod separates, your ravens are in the sky, keeping watch, Helia delivers the rifle safely so that the kid can set up.
Midday, you begin to let yourself look s bit wobbly before falling. Eshe shortly after you, “halting” the progress of your party as you're cared for.

It takes some time, but you eventually hear a shot ring out, Aerin deflecting the brunt of it with it leaving a gash across her face. Sand moves to Helia's defense, pouring from beneath her clothes and hardening against her flesh to bear with similar force.

You suddenly realize your vulnerability as you rise up, drawing water before you as another shot rings out. You bring up a shield of water, too late to freeze it into ice, and yet... you're alright. Your nerves burn, but the wall of water you canned uo seems to have a visible gash in it and an absurd lack of flowing at all.

The shots came from three different directions now obscured by the pickup of a gale, tossing up dirt and sand in equal amounts.

“Definitely people out there... Aerin whistles as she touches her cheek, facing the intrusion,

Comments, questions, concerns while I'm still partially lucid, just not enough to write?

Saying it now as well, the deity offers are pretty much entry level deals. They prefer notable characters and they're giving Asher the guidance to become notable.

Deities speaking to Overs isn't necessarily uncommon either. They could speak to 10,000 people at once if need be due to the nature of what they are. Dip a hand in everyone's box and you're likely to get something in return.

>>30407647

Also, if our Ravens can locate any of them we can drop Fara on them, have her carve them up. She said she wanted to kill for us, now she has a chance.

>>30407647
How long can Fara operate independently, in a combat scenario not just lounging around, without needing us to give her more magic?

Has she expressed any opinions about our traveling companions positive or negative?

Will Asherah and Lucifer really care that we're working for both of them at the same time? None of their goals really seem opposed to each other.

>>30407674

>>30407685

>>
>>30407704
Asherah might not like it, but I doubt Lucifer cares seeing he represents rebellion from forms of control.
>>
>>30407716
We can probably placate her.

Tell her that her reminder will spread further if told alongside tales of magic returning. The new mages born from this "baptism" will serve as living proof of her influence in the world.
>>
>>30407704
Lucifer would have said something if he had serious concerns about service to Asherah he would have been more vocal.

>>30407709
With 3rd Grade, she's pretty much a functioning combatant, so long as it's not dragged out or she uses her materialized for conservatively, she should have power to spare even after it's done.

She's ambivalent about Hot Rod, Doesn't like the way Helia looks at you, doesn't see Aerin as a threat, and thinks Eshe is a good guardian.

Asherah may be more obstinate if her goals directly conflicted with Lucifer's. She wants a holy man ritualistically killed to mark her comeback. THat may change in the future, yet for now they are very parallel.
>>
>>30407752
If we decided to stop working for Asherah, would she be able to directly rip any knowledge she gave us right out of our head?
>>
>>30407767

Secrets given are not so easily taken back, and I doubt that she can influence what we know so easily, especially considering we exist in different worlds.

We can communicate, we can call things over, but I sincerely doubt she can make us not know things.

There are lots of things gods can't do, they aren't omnipotent, not does everything fall into their domain.

Well yes, that is pretty much true.

But it's probably best not to talk that way in front of Asherah, I don't think it'd go over well.

>>30407808
Yes, yes it would.

It pretty much prevents us from making things too pointy or making weapons. We can still make barriers, shapes, restraints, chairs, doppelgangers. When we level it up we can still halt kinetic or thermal energy on objects, we can still place things and people in stasis, and most of the other important stuff that Ice gives us.

We don't kill people with Ice, we just use it to trap them, and them stab them with Water, or have a Summon rip out their throat.
>>
>>30407832
I never said you were wrong.
>>
>>30407820
If we encased someone in ice and that caused them to get hurt from frostbite or hypothermia or whatever, would that break the oath?
>>
>>30407832
>>30407839
I knew he was going to be mistaken for me.
I just laughed and restarted the GotG trailer again.
>>
Can we get a revote on taking the sculptor oath?
>>
>>30407860
Next thread. Dran is probably ready to collapse.
>>
>>30407860
It'll probably get put off until next thread, since Dran wants to write it in the narrative when it happens. Though I wouldn't mind doing it now.
>>
>>30407864
>>30407875
I'm fine with this. Can oaths be taken at anytime? Hopefully we can quickly make it before we get shot at again.
>>
>>30407845
You could theoretically adjust the temperature of the ice to prevent that, so yes.

>>30407838
>But it's probably best not to talk that way in front of Asherah, I don't think it'd go over well.
Only bring it up to the better adjusted deities. Lucifer brought that up pretty quick.

Lucifer best girl. Can't wait for more interactions.

What exactly would Florakinesis do?

Like, if we were in the jungle could we make vine choke people? Or out in the desert here, could we make cactuses fly at people?
>>
Yes, and yes. Higher ranks would denote more control and ability to alter growth and eventually use the ideas of certain plants. Could also be useful for rituals or spell reagants that require things like mistletoe, holly, or some sort of sap.

Higher levels would basically allow you to poison Ivy a building. In any case it's there, but not quite as versatile and dangerous as you might like. Subtle though.
>>
>>30407875
I'd like that too, making Water solid with Materia Firma is an ongoing effect which means the burn will add up, making the ice wall means it'll last until it breaks or melts.
>>
>>30407891
So he only wants us to collect magic users in the hope of more summoners and then generating himself into reality! Sly bastard.
>>
>>30407950
>Higher levels would basically allow you to poison Ivy a building.
Just making sure I understand this correctly; at higher levels of Florakinesis, we could evoke the concept of poison ivy and inflict it upon a building, resulting in anyone that enters said building having the poison ivy inflicted upon them?

That's fucking metal. It makes me think that maybe we could make a cantrip of Hydrokinesis + Materia Firma + Florakinesis to create a giant poisonous mist of nightshade or something.
>>
>>30407977
I meant like Batman's poison Ivy, but that's also a possibility.
Nerves are masters of ambient reality.
>>
>>30407977
I don't see why that couldn't be done with just florakinesis and the proper plant. Just keep a cloud of poisonous pollen or whatever around.
>>
>>30407985
There's no way in hell I want to take Florakinesis to Divine rank, but it sounds cool as hell.

So I wouldn't mind putting an Oath on it.

>Oath of the Gardener: Whenever enter a new area, you will devote some energy to the well being of the plants.
>>
>>30407985
Could we alter a bunch of apples to put tracking beacons on people that embed themselves in their intestinal lining, letting us track them wherever they are?
>>
>>30408031
That sounds really fucked up and really awesome.

We could take it a step further and make it so that if they eat the magic apples they get explosive seed things all in them that Asher can detonate at will.

Apple killswitch.

Yes. Keep giving me npc ideas.

Little kid on the path of blood. Their tulpa is a copy of their mom/dad that the Followers killed right in front of em trying to awaken them.
>>
>>30408186
I'd personally go for dead brother or sister, it'd make it creepier.
>>
>>30408194
I wasn't going for creepy so much as feelzy, but if you want creepy then brother sister combo, then just rip off the twins from Black Lagoon right down to the incestuous blood orgy.

Exploited kid being forced to do CP awakens on the first day of the aurora and makes a tulpa of their dead brother / sister. And then they go on a murder spree.
>>
>>30408114
You know the old game "The floor is lava"? Some nerve that makes it more or less a reality.

Well, the floor doesn't look like lava. But stepping on it will produce more or less the same results.
>>
>>30408114
I bet a Vein could pull off becoming something like a gargoyle from Gargoyle Quest.
>>
>>30408114
Imagine a Bone that decided to invoke the legends of as many people-eating monsters, like vampires and wendigos and such, at the same time as they could and then topped it off with Gluttony itself. That would be fuckin scary. And a miracle that they didn't die, but still. Scary.
>>
>>30408348
>Bones eat Nerve magic
>Implications

And I gotta sleep. If you pop back in before the thread 404s, an estimate for the next AoPH would be cool
