Robert A. Heinlein’s lineup apparently has actually expanded. They now boast an M26 Pershing along with their Elite Chaffee, five E8 Shermans, and three Jumbos, one of the Jumbos being the flag tank. A relatively balanced line up you suppose.

Compared to Kasserine who have a Tiger I, three Stug III Ausf. Fs, a Panzer III L which serves as their flag tank, and five Panzer IV F2s.

“WE GOT A- HOLD ON.” There’s a brief pause as the prop noise dies out. “We managed to get the Buffalo’s engine sorted, but it’s not providing enough power to give it lift. Having the Naval Studies kids around has been a real help.”

With that, you say goodbye to the Freshmen and the Girl Scouts and head out of the bakery towards the Tankery HQ. It’s not a long walk by far. You decide to pull down your mask as you can at least go two seconds without coughing or sneezing. You must be feeling just a bit better now.

Finally, you arrive at the HQ which is practically swarming with Naval Studies Engineering kids, running to and fro with spare parts and other items. You quickly say hello to Wild and Dory then move on back to backyard where the planes are kept. The broken up Hurricane is currently in the midst of repair it seems while the rest are being stripped of their engines to work on.

You walk up to Marina, “Hey, Marina.”

Marina nods and walks along the line of planes. “First off, Hurricane,” The Hurricane is attached to several small cranes as Lidya directs the Naval Studies students how to best piece it back together from a blueprint. “Hurricane is getting back together, but it’s costing us money to fix it. The elevator’s gotta be replaced, the right aileron’s gotta be replaced too, plus all the instruments are shot, not to mention the engine’s practically in a million pieces from that crash.”

You nod as Marina goes over the Hs-129 which has been stripped of the 75mm gun. “The Panzerknacker is actually going on brilliantly. It’s been a real help having the Engineering kids work on it, we’ve been able to mostly fix the 75mm autoloader. The engines are a different story, we have to mail-order a lot of parts to get them working again.”

The Ki-61 Hei has Katya in the cockpit, trying to get the engine to start as the Naval Studies students try to spin the propeller. “The engine in Tony has been giving us some trouble. One minute it works, the next minute, it just sputters out and dies. Plus, there’s some problems with trying to get the rudder to turn, not to mention some air holes in the fuselage.”

The Buffalo actually looks surprisingly spiffy and only a few students are around it, simply polishing the fuselage. “The Buffalo’s given us the least amount of problems. Ordering the new .50 for its armament is going to take some time but it should arrive before the due date.”

Finally, the Hawk and the Dauntless. The Hawk’s being given a new more historical paintjob while the Dauntless is simply sat to rest. “Thanks for getting the Dauntless for us, that’ll be a real thing. The engine unfortunately doesn’t work on the Dauntless but we can probably get it going again with some elbow grease. As for the Hawk, we’ve got to order the all the armaments but other than that, it works brilliantly.”

You nod. “Anything I can do to help?”

Marina shrugs. “Well, there are two things. You can probably get us a sponsor or some cash. It’ll really help speed things up once we can order more spare parts.”

There is no need to touch the Sherman right now, or indeed, probably for the rest of the Quest. The Jumbo's increase in survivability is marginal when faced with high end guns, and the loss of mobility takes away from it's role as a well-balanced, general purpose medium tank.

Meanwhile we have an entire other Sherman chasis that could be outfitted toward the Firefly, and a crew to put into it. That said the timing might mitigate more toward incremental improvements of existing tanks- especially the Panther.

So, for some of our subquests, had ideas related as to what could be done to fulfill some of the goals.

Maybe we could contact our sports teams, but I'm not sure it'll go anywhere. The newer ones were all approved at once when our school is sinking from a lack of funding. They might not have the money in their budgets. The older teams probably won't need new uniforms.

I really like all of your other ideas, though! We could even contact some faculty for new business wear instead of just targeting students. Hell, Mr. Mishka's probably buddies with other shop keeps on board, we could probably ask him if he needs new clothes, anyone he might know too.
There's money to be made in a community that needs all their goods imported.

Late to the discussion re: spending money on tanks

Sentinel AC4 is the single biggest anti-tank performance enhancing drug we have available currently. 17pdr can break nearly anything, and will destroy almost everything.

I don't know if we can rely on the studies crew to lynchpin the Sentinel, though. I feel like we should've put the Aces in the sentinel since it's a great combination of agility coupled with Michelle and Wendy on the gun. But...I doubt there's any traction for a revote, and I don't imagine Steel allows backsies.

Anyways, tl;dr: Spend money on the Sentinel because it's the easy (and inexpensive) wat to a 17pdr.

I don't know if we want to put a cutter on the Hellcat. We'll be in Sweden anyways, and terrain there runs mostly "holy shit forest, the trees have a taste for human flesh," or "plains." Not so much fields of wheat or corn or tall grass or hedgerows we'd need to roll down.

But this is a decision that should be made once we're in the 72 hour before the match notice.

I'd also hang onto the QF 75mm. We might pick up a Cromwell that we turn into a Challenger or another Commonwealth tank.

Other than that, just under 21 grand is a nice price to get our two heavy hitting mediums up to scratch.

I (>>30265214 here) certainly hope so. I don't know why we've been dragging our feet with the ACIV. We could've had it for the last match and it would've beaten the shit out of everything they had.

Also, can I suggest >one on one face time for Team Liberty with the Aces, because holy shit we need them to be able to double fucking down and get to bidniz [spoiler since they're a pretty green team. Maybe we can have a few crews rotate through training with the aces Monday and/or Wednesdays with regular practices maintained Tuesday/Thursday.

I know some of the Aces are naval and not general studies, meaning they have to work in addition to their course load, but at least Bolter and Octavia can start training them.
