VALENTINE EDITION

Scavengers, Trespassers, Adventurers, Lolis, Killers, Explorers, Robbers.

YOU ARE LOLI,

And you just leapt off a bridge to escape from a duel with Kiyiya.
It's a relatively short drop to the stationary train carriage below you, but you misjudged the distance when you jumped and land awkwardly, collapsing into a flat roll that takes you off the carriage into a slightly longer fall to the railway below. With a thump, you hit the ground. The rail line meets your rib cage, knocking the wind right out of you. Luckily, you didn't hear any cracks on impact, so you probably didn't break anything.

The stream of constant gunfire from Sergei suddenly cuts out, you hear a shout of "RELOAD'N!" On cue, the badguys on the left of the track start firing back in his direction again.

Or just panic the shit out of them. They're occupied elsewhere, so we just need to get to them fast before Kiyiya can get between us and them, murderfy them and he'll be left severely outnumbered and forced to retreat. And then we win. Sort of.
>>
>>30231850
We uh, we kinda want to pass this roll though, because jumping off a bridge seems like it'd be completely within his list of sane things to do.

Despite the pain coursing through your chest, you heave yourself to your feet and hurl yourself through the bushline, just as Kiyiya hits the ground right where you were lying. You catch a glimpse of him stumbling slightly before he's lost to the brush around you.

You break free of the cover on the other side and find yourself looking down a shallow slope at three men firing wildly at the track. None of them are looking at you, so you dart forwards into the closest man, putting all of your weight behind your knife as you drive it into the base of his spine. As he screams in agony, his rifle arm flailing wildly, you twist yourself against the blade, turning him so he sprays his own comrades in a hail of gunfire. Both men fall with suppressed cries and gurgling, so you bring your second blade across the man's throat before yanking both blades free of the falling corpse.

"KIYIYA!" you scream again, "KIYIYA IS HERE! KILL HIM!"

You sprint along the slope, back towards Sergei's position. When you round the brush enough to see the railway, however, there's no sign of movement. All your assailants are dead, and Kiyiya is nowhere to be seen. Sergei lets out a disgruntled noise, rolling over and sitting up to tend to his leg.

Vasa appears in the brush on the right of the track, carefully poking her head about, scanning the area. "We got 'em all?" She lets out a sigh, then takes a few more paces towards you. "Wait, where's Kris?"
>>
>>30232129
You spin around on the spot, but can't see Kris anywhere. She was on the left flank last you knew; you rush over to the slope and look around again.
She's hobbling her way up the slope towards you, rifle slack on its strap beside her.
"Eheheh... I tried to get around then, but slipped in the mud. I think I sprained my ankle..." Her face creases into a grimace as she shifts her weight, before her pained smile returns. "It's fine though. Sorry, I'm gonna slow you guys down now."

Vasa whips past you, sliding down the slope to get to Kris and slipping an arm around her to take the weight. A somewhat less painful-looking few steps later, and Kris is next to Sergei. As soon as she sees him trying to tie a dirty strip of cloth around the gunshot wound, she scalds him and limps over beside him. "Vass, can you pass me the kit?" Vasa helps her sit down, then pulls a first aid kit from her pack, handing it to Kris who immediately sets about cleaning, disinfecting and wrapping the wound.

Vasa takes you to one side as she works, and whispers in your ear. "Kris isn't going to be able to walk far or fast on that ankle, and that's even without Sergei's leg. Don't know how well he's gonna walk on that."

Apparently we stumbled right into Kiyiya's home territory so he'll probably be gunning for us too. Gotta get those two recovered fast if he'll be gunning for us.

You look over to Sergei, "hey, the station is closer than the bunker, right?" He grumbles an affirmative between winces as Kris dabs at his leg. She tells him to quit being a baby and sit still. Vasa grabs you by the shoulder and spins you around.

"Hey, no. I'm putting my foot down. I am not letting you walk us into some hole full of crazy gun-nuts who haven't seen a woman in years."

You tip your head, quizzically. "Why? I'm sure they're just as nice as the guys in Skadovsk!" Her face tenses, and she seems to debate explaining why that wouldn't' be the case before you continue. "And even if they're not, they're better than just sitting here and waiting to be attacked again."

She keeps you fixed in a glare for a long few moments, before letting out a sigh. "Alright, fine. But for the record, this is a terrible idea."

Kris finishes tying a little bow in the bandage around Sergei's leg with an "All done~!", and turns to look at the two of you. "So what's the plan?"

You tell them you're making for the station. Sergei stands up, and tells you he's fine to walk by himself, and Vasa continues to support Kris as she limps along. You keep to the front of the group, leading them straight for the station a few hundred yards down the rails.

The collection of buildings are mostly ruined or collapsed, barely resembling the train hangars they once were. The main building is pretty well maintained, however, with a warm artificial glow leaking through the boarded up and barricaded windows. Behind the

A plethora of abandoned train husks fills the rail line in front of the station. You note to yourself that, unlike Skadovsk, the area seems to lack an obvious guard.

You make it to the main door, and can make out a lively bustle of activity inside. You pause before opening the door. Kris and Vasa have a worried expression on their faces. Sergei seems passive.

You decide it would be best to go in first, alone. You tell the others to wait here a moment, before stepping through the door. What greets you is a large, open room with a high ceiling. A number of tall tables are set up against the walls, each sporting a small gathering of bitter, ragged looking men. Across from you is another pair of doors identical to the ones you came in through, and on the right of those is a small service window attended by a youngish looking, clean-shaven man with a buzz-cut.
To either side of the room are small, poorly lit passageways to the rest of the station.

The men at the tables all turn to face you as you enter, but most only give you a cursory glance before turning back to their tables. You hear a few mutterings of "Oh great, our turn now" or "Well, there goes the neighborhood" and one "aw man, I was really hoping to survive this month."
The man at the service window seems to notice your presence at last and gives a wave. "Ah, a newcomer? Come in, make yourself at home."

Well, you've had less friendly welcomes. You hold the door open again and gesture for the other to follow you in. They do so, Vasa giving a hard stare to every man in the room who meets her gaze. Sergei quickly parts from the group, calling out to a group of men who apparently recognize him. They greet him back jovially, and the men quickly start up a good conversation.

You continue towards the service window and the guy who is apparently in charge.

As the girls are passing close to one of the tables, Kris gives a small jump, a quiet squeak escaping her lips and a hand reaching reflexively behind her. Her face drops forwards. Vasa gives the table one of the most evil glares you've ever witnessed, until Kris nudges her onward with a quiet murmur of "leave it," and you're pretty sure you can see a shy grin tugging at the edges of her mouth.
>>
>>30232954
You're not sure what just happened there, so you ignore it and move up the counter. "Hey, welcome welcome. Don't see many fine young ladies in these parts. You need stuff? I got all the shit you're ever gonna need." His wide, shark-like grin is somehow off-putting, and you're not sure you want to buy what he's selling.

"Haha, no worries there, dear. Through that door," he gestures behind you, "take the stairs on the right to the basement. Feel free to sleep in there whenever you need! I'm Hawaiian, by the way."
He cranes his head to one side, looking past you at Kris. "You alright, darling? There's a doctor just through that corridor there if you need."

"Nah, I'm fine really, thanks," she says back through an appreciative smile. The guy's smile grows even wider.

"Well, that's good. Anything else I can help with?"

"...actually," you think aloud, "he said this was his den... Do you know a guy called Kiyiya?" Hawaiian's smile falters a little at the edges.

"That guy? Yeah, sure. Everyone knows the Mad Dog. He and his boys raid pretty much everyone, and if there's a fight anywhere in the Zone, one of his boys is probably getting paid for it. They ain't like the other mercs, no-one can seem to reason with 'em. The only thing separating them from the usual bandit scum is the fact that you can pay 'em to kill people for you." He looks around the room, before leaning in to tell you more in a quiet voice. "We're pretty sure he's got a base set up around here somewhere. I mean, his boys hit everywhere, but it seems like we get the worst of their presence. If you even just find the place, I'd imagine some folk would give a lot of money for that information." He leans back again. "Sorry to say, I can't tell you much else."

We are at 1
Mercs at 2 [Degtyarev can only interact with these via bullet]
Scientist bunker + mercs (unless Degtyarev has told them to fuck off with bullets) at 5
Bandits at 7 [can be negotiated with by Degtyarev]
Bandits at 11 [can be intimidated by Degtyarev]
Some Thieves at 16 [Degtyarev kills these]

Plus there's always the possibility that shits' just plain different than CoP, but these are where bandits and mercs -were-.

"I heard there was a scientist bunker near here," you tell him.

"The mobile lab? Ah, there's not really much to tell on them. Bunch of government-funded scientist playing around with the fun parts of the Zone. They got enough cash flowing in to fund a small army, so they're set up a pretty much impenetrable fortress over there! If you're willing to help 'em out with their research, they're pretty good guys."

You nod, then switch the topic. "Does anyone around here sell artifacts? Especially healing ones?"

"Ha! So you do need something! I wasn't bluffing when I said I got all the shit you're ever gonna need!" He steps away from the counter, returning a few seconds later with a large, cardboard box. He plunks it down on the counter and tips it so you can see inside. There's rather a large collection of random-looking junk, everything from what looks like a shiny rock and a couple of uncut crystals to a set of jewelry beads to an old car battery. "If ya need it, I got it! Cheapest are as low as 3,000!" You pale a little at the price, and the memory of Vasa having very recently spent all of your money.

"Maybe another time," Vasa cuts in, "more importantly... I haven't seen any guards. Are we really safe in here?"

"Heh. Mutants don't seem to come around here. Even if they did, the Duty and Freedom guys both have a bunch of guards at all time in their sides of the station, so even if something happened you're perfectly safe here! What you really want to be worried about is getting caught in the crossfire between them. But the truce inside the station has been holding this long, and it doesn't look like that's gonna change, so don't let it worry your lovely little ass." Vasa's eyes narrow at the last part, but she holds her tongue from further comment, instead directing a glare at you. You get the feeling she's blaming everything on you. It was your idea to come here, after all.
>>
>>30233501
Vasa, do you enjoy your anger, or are you just addicted to it?
>>
>>30233501
With nothing else really worth asking him, you finish up the conversation and thank him for information. He tells you you're welcome any time, before flashing a wink at Kris, who quickly averts her eyes.

"Hey Vasa, can we head downstairs now? I'd kind of like to lie down." Vasa shifts her grip a little, before moving herself around to help lead Kris to the stairs to the basement.

>>
>>30233692
Yeah, but it won't help but the cutest avatar of the death if our colleagues are busy fucking or killing people.
>>
>>30233712
Both. Well, sort of. It's pretty standard behavior to deliberately act cold and disregardful towards someone not just because you don't like them but also because you don't WANT to like them. Because when you get emotionally tied to someone you end up doing stupid things like putting yourself in danger to pull them out of trouble or feeling sad when they're hurt.

I have no doubt that she is genuinely angry at the situation, though, just like she was genuinely angry when Kris was hurt the last time.

>>30233660
She likes Kris. A lot. They've probably been together a while by now, and she doesn't really try to hide that she likes Kris.

She does not particularly like Loli and really the most we've gotten out of her are a brief glimpses of spaghetti safely tucked away deep in her pockets with no significant risk of spillage, with said pockets being rapidly shut closed. That's going to keep happening until we are able to change her view of Loli from something other than "insane murderdemon." Fortunately I have a plan for how to do just that.

>>
>>30234105
sounds a bit hard to believe, but it's ok
>>
>>30233949
Well there's obviously the classical way to befriend people; Helping them out. Problem is, we're already doing that and I don't think that method actually addresses her reasons to dislike Loli. You see, aside from just being angry, Vass seems to generally be a cautious type. When she sees someone behaving like Loli, she sees someone whose reckless behavior is going to endanger others. Sort of like has already happened, when Kris was badly hurt down by the sawmill. Oops.

I think then, that something far more effective is for Loli to display that she is actually aware of her own shortcomings in that regard and willing to attempt to overcome them. And the best way to do that is simply to ask Vasa for her help with getting better at the things she is already good at whenever he have available downtime. Survival things and staying out of sight and such. We even have a strong point for making her do that because we can argue that logically it's in her interest to help us improve since that makes it less likely we'll all be brutally murdered.. Which is actually a plus regardless of any interests in befriending anyone, so we should be doing it anyway. Bonus points if Kris is around to apply extra pressure to make Vasa help us.

Lastly, such an arrangement can in itself help to form the emotional ties that we currently lack, making it easier to interact with her in general. Because teaching others and seeing them learn from you tends to make you care about them.
>>
>>30234184
Sounds good to me. Let's stick to this then.
>>
>>30233612
You follow the girls as they head through the archway into the next room, turning right down the stairwell. You head down the stairs, into the sleeping quarters. The room is bleak and dark, with only a lamp at the far side for illumination. A few boxes are stacked up in the corners, and sleeping bags and bedrolls are splayed out across the floor. A few personal belongings litter the beds, but nothing that looks valuable.
In the corner opposite the stair is a middle-aged looking man with a fair number of claw-like scars across his head and face, leaning against the wall and looking bored.

Vasa finds a spot in one of the darker back corners and sets up a pair of beds. Kris slumps down on one of the rolls and eases her legs gently into place under the blankets.

Vasa turns her attention to you as Kris starts wriggling her way out of her clothes. "Mind telling Sergei where we are? I'd like him to watch us sleep tonight."

Kris fidgets a little, snuggling herself down under the covers until only her eyes are visible over the blanket. "Heeee. I didn't know you were into that sort of thing, Vass."

"Shut up. You know what I meant." Kris lets out a quick laugh, before turning her head to the wall and pulling the cover up over her head.

You acknowledge the request, before handing one of your precious few remaining bars of chocolate to Vasa and telling her to cheer up. She takes the bar with a grunt that may or may not have been a thanks, and turns away from you, sitting down on the bed next to Kris to start quietly gnawing on the bar.
>>

I have a feeling more STALKERs than just Sergei are going to watch us sleep.

Just watch, too afraid of murderdemon to get too close.
>>
>>30234258
You quickly head back upstairs to the main room and find Sergei at the same table, still in merry discussion with his friends about... something. Through their thick accents, guttural voices and the liberal use of slang, you have no idea what they're talking about even after a few minuets of trying to listen in.
You nudge Sergei to get his attention, and let him know about Vasa's request to take watch while the girls sleep. "Watch 'em? They be fine 'ere, ain't nuttin' gun be 'app'nin t'night... Ah, fine whatev'r. Only fer a few hours, though." You thank him with a quick hug around his waist, then look around the room at the assembled groups.

Most of those present look like average guys, though a little more hard-worn than those you knew in Skadovsk. Some seem to be more heavily armed, wearing some sort of full armored suit with full helmets and pipes sticking out and stuff. You instantly get the feeling those are the guys who've been around the longest. Through the archways on either side, in the dark corridors, the groups seem to take up different colored uniforms. On the right, a group of men in greens, browns and yellows are sat in a small semi-circle on a wooden bench, while on the right, men in black lined with red are standing guard along the corridor.

You move over to one of the tables in the main room, and try to strike up a conversation. "Hi! I'm Loli!"

The three men turn to face you, the closest speaking up first. "What d'you want from us, GiltinÄ—?" They all regard you with a passive, cold stare.

"I was just wondering... what's with the guys over there and there?" You gesture to both archways.

"Freedom and Duty? Bah, just ignore them. They're two groups fighting over the future of the Zone."
Another snorts, "as if they have any control."
"Those guys," he points to the greens, "basically want to let the Zone be, and try to dig around for as much stuff as they can."
"Which will probably just piss the Zone off," the other cuts in.
The first continues. "The Duty pricks are on a crusade to kill the Zone.
"Hah. Like to see them try." "They are. And it's hilarious."
Again, the first ignores the other two. "Honestly? They're all just massive dicks in a dick-waving contest. The further you can stay from them, the better."

"Okay," you nod in understanding. "One question though. What's a dick?"
"...Uh." He looks at you funny. "It's a bad thing that you shouldn't touch. Ever."

"Right. Okay. Also, do you know where Kiyiya lives?"

A dark look passes between the three. "No, we don't. And if we did, he'd be dead. Pretty sure that's the same answer you'd get from anyone around these parts."

>>

"Alright, well... where would you look if you were trying to find him?"

"Where to look? Hmm..." The three go into deep thought. "You could try the cement factory, I guess? There's usually some merc hanging out that way." "How about the substation?" "Or the bus stop, checkpoint and parking lot. Don't forget those." You somehow get the feeling this list isn't all that helpful. "The warehouse has been empty since the bandits got cleared out." "Yeah, but he's been around way longer than that."
"Well what about Jupiter?"
The other two stop mid-thought, and turn to stare at him. "Why would he be in Jupiter??" "Dude, that's mutant hell-hole."
"Well... yeah, it was. But that guy cleared it out a few days ago, remember?"
"Still too soon. He's been around for months."
"Yeah, I guess."

You cut off any further musings by changing the subject. So, is there any easy way to make money around here?"

One of the three looks at you with a strange gleam in his eye. "Heh. I can think of a way, but neither you nor your friends would like it."
"That's okay, I do a lot of things I don't really like," you respond.
He gives a toothy grin, opening his mouth to explain, before his friend karate-chops his face, knocking him clean out-cold.
"No," says his friend. "Easy ways, no. Hard ways, well. They're no different to anywhere else. Loot, artifacts, helping people out."

You're about to ask another question when something catches your eye, a slight movement in the corner of the room. You glance over to see a very young man in the corner of the room. He's trying to signal you, to get your attention without drawing notice from the rest of the room. He points to the main door, before slipping quietly out into the night.

You make your way over to the door, stepping outside just as a chill wind passes, making you shiver and reminding you that the station is actually rather warm inside. Behind you to one side, waiting by the door, is the young boy. Getting a closer look, you realize he's about your age, not much older, maybe a little younger than Kris. Too young to be in the Zone by anyone's standards! He fidgets nervously as you look at him, before apparently resolving himself and stepping forward to you. "Ano, Loli. I, uh... I got you- I got you this." He holds out a small, neatly wrapped box in both hands in front of him. "Ple... PLEASEACCEPTMYGIFT! He keeps his eyes shut, tense, as if expecting you to suddenly inflict some horrible trauma upon him. You slowly reach forwards and take the gift from his hands. As soon as you do, he visibly relaxes and opens his eyes, letting out a sigh. Then he meets your gaze, tenses up again. His face quickly turns bright red. "I... I..."

"I...?"

"I'VEGOTTOGODOSOMETHING!" He turns and bolts into the darkness.

You let him go, instead opting to carefully unwrap the package. It's a pretty delicate paper that comes off easily once you untie the pretty pink ribbon holding it in place. You slip the paper off easily and are left staring at a plain brown box, tied up with another pretty pink ribbon. You slip the ribbon away, and lift the box close to your ear, carefully, very slowly opening it, feeling for resistance and listening carefully for any sort of mechanical releases. There are none, and the lid comes off cleanly.
Revealing...

You take a few more steps away from the station door, picking one of the lovingly hand-crafted heart chocolates from the box, and you're about to pop it into your mouth when the door swings open and Vasa appears.

"Oh, there you are. What is that? Where'd you get those?"

"A boy just gave them to me!"

"A... a boy? Where? Here?" She raises an eyebrow at you, curious expression.

"Would you like to share them?"

"...Are they poisoned?"

"I don't know! I hope not!" You punctuate the comment by popping the chocolate into your mouth and biting down.
The taste filling your mouth is beyond belief. The chocolate coating offers no resistance, simply melting in contact with your mouth. The inside is glorious chocolate-flavor fudge, which squishes onto your tongue and spreads its taste throughout your mouth.

After a few moments, you feel Vasa place a hand on your shoulder, and open your eyes to find her waving hand in front of your face. "Oooi, Loliii. You awake in there?"
You stare back at her, wide-eyed for a moment, before slowly moving your jaw to chew through the rest of the sweet.
"Well, you're not dead yet, so I suppose..." She takes one from the pack and pops it into her own mouth. Her eyes snap tight shut, her back arches slightly and her hands ball into fists as she lets out a restrained squeal of delight. After a few long seconds, she swallows, opening her eyes and nodding at you. "That was... good. Thank you."

She was looking for you just now. You ask her what it is she wanted. Her eyes flicker about before she takes a deep breath and focuses on you. "I... wanted to talk. Can we..?" She gestures at concrete pipe a short distance away, and you both move to take a seat away from the station, staring out into the deepening darkness of the night.

She reaches over and takes another of the chocolates from your box, popping it into her mouth and savoring the flavor. You do the same and wait for her to begin. The chirping of insects in the darkness and the muffled sound of people talking from the station gently permeates the air.
After several minutes of silence, "I don't want to find my father."

...
"What?"

She lets out a shallow sigh, "I mean... not that I don't want to see him but... he chose to leave, and I chose to follow because I had nothing else. He hasn't tried to come back, so whatever made him leave is still there and making him would be selfish. But at the same time, what made me follow isn't true now. So, I have no reason to go after him."

She falls into silence again, as you contemplate the revelation. "But then, why are we going after him?"

"Because Kris wants to find him," she states simply. "She heard my story, and now she's on some quest to reunite us. I don't want to stop her now."
"I think by this point, she'd keep trying to find him even... without me. No matter how stupid or dangerous that is."
She turns to face you. "Loli. This is... I'm going to ask something of you, and it's a big one. It's a really selfish one, and I don't deserve to ask it of you."

You meet her gaze and wait for her to finish.

"When I'm- If... If I'm not around anymore, will you stay with Kris? Will you look after her, and keep her safe in my stead?"

"Thanks, Loli. I'm not intending to off and die, I think I just needed to hear you say that." She starts to break the hug, and you point out a flaw in the plan.

"Only... I'm not very good at keeping people safe. Everyone around me keeps getting hurt. I don't think I'd be a good choice to look after her for you.

Vasa's mouth breaks into a small smile at this. "Well, that's something than can be solved with practice, right? Hmm, I tell you what. Kris said she needs to spend all of tomorrow resting up her ankle before she can walk again. So how about we spend tomorrow just you and me, and we'll see if we can't make you better at keeping people safe?"

Your mouth splits into a giant smile as you throw yourself in for another hug. "Unn~! Thank you, Vasa-neechan! I can't wait!"

You both sit for a few more moments before Vasa breaks the hug and sits back up, facing the darkness. You pop another chocolate into your mouth.

"But I was careful. You REALLY love Kris, don't you?" The little light from the cloudy Moon isn't enough to see all to well, but you're pretty sure you can make out a dark tint to Vasa's cheeks that gets darker even as you watch it.

"I- I..." She turns to give you an annoyed look. "Yes, I love her. What of it?"

"Have you told her?"

"Wha- of course I haven't told her! How am I supposed to tell her I love her!?"

The silence stretches on for a few long moments, before you switch the topic again. "Hey, what's a dick?"

Vasa stops mid-breath intake, her head slowly and purposefully rotating about her neck to bring her blank gaze upon you. In a completely dead voice, she stats: "something that you should never touch, see, or even ask about." Her eyes flicker away from you, as she mumbles an additive, "unless you're Kris."
You suppress your annoyance that no-one seems to want to tell you what a dick is, but drop the line of questioning.

You stand up as well and follow Vasa back into the station. She breaks off towards the basement, but you stay in the main room. She notices, and calls back to you. "You're not coming?"

"No, you reply, it's okay, you can go on ahead. I just want to stay here for a bit." She nods at you, a curious expression on her face, before leaving.

You notice Sergei isn't in the room, and assume he must've already gone downstairs to watch Kris. That would explain why Vasa was fine with talking to you for so long. Instead of talking to him, you make your way steadily around the tables, generally chatting about nothing and giggling when the men pat your head or say something nice about you. The boy doesn't make another appearance as the night drags on, though Sergei does return shortly. You offer him a chocolate, which he thanks you for. He chews on it thoughtfully, then swallows it without much comment, and you resolve not to waste another of the rare treats on him.

As the night drags on, you start to really get sleepy, so you decide to head down to the basement, where you find a number of men now occupying their bedrolls on the floor. You do your best to creep around them without making too much noise and come to a stop next to Vasa, who's still awake, sat with her back pressed against the wall, legs bridged over Kris' sleeping bag, her pistol sitting comfortably in her lap.

She nods a greeting at you as you set about tucking yourself into her unoccupied sleeping bag, settling in for what is hopefully a restful night's sleep.

Surprisingly enough, you sleep right through the night in a peaceful, dreamless sleep and wake feeling rested and ready for whatever the Zone might throw at you!

You try to roll over to get up, only to find that Vasa is tucked into the bedroll beside you, her back facing you, fast asleep. Kris has rolled over in her sleep, too, and put an arm around the both of you. There's not exactly enough room to maneuver like this. You could probably get up, but it'd be tough to do so without disturbing them both.

You crane your neck to look around the room and find that at large, the room of men is more full than it was, but everyone is fast asleep. Apart from Sergei, who has replaced Vasa in a position propped up against the wall. He smiles when he sees that you've woken up, but doesn't move.

We need to tell Kris about the boy with the chocolates! This is exactly the kind of stuff she'd want to hear about. A lot.

unrelated, but i still can't tell if that's cute or sad, and i feel like i had to post it here: http://www.sankakucomplex.com/2014/02/15/how-to-get-chocolates-from-your-2d-girl/

Anything? We go unconscious anything can happen to us and we are pretty prone to getting kidnapped, I'm personally getting tired of that.
>>
>>30238889
Pathetic. This is beyond sad.
>>
>>30238889
Oh gosh, that is so cute.
>>
>>30238758
You wriggle about until you can poke Kris in the side. "Kris, psssss, Kris!" you whisper urgently. She stirs a little and grumbles for five more minutes. You poke her again and she opens her eyes.

"Loli? What? What time is it?"

You don't answer instead directing her attention. "Isn't Vass cute when shes sleeping?" Kris looks past you at the steadily breathing form, stifling a giggle. She retracts her arm from over you and carefully sits herself up against the wall. "Hey, Kris, what's it mean when someone gives you chocolates as a present?"

"Eh? Someone gave you chocolate?" A sparkle in her eye, "who? Who was it?"

"A boy last night, he was waiting in the corner and got me to go outside.

"A boy..? Did anyone else see him? How old was he?"

"N-, well. He didn't seem to want to be seen. And, uhm, a little older than me, but probably younger than you?" A dark look crosses her features, as she looks down at her own knees. "...Kris? Is something wrong?"

"Ah, huh? What, no, no, it's good! Yeah, real good. That means he likes you, see? And he was trying to let you know how he feels. So it's really good!"

As he continues listening to the exchange, Sergei's amused smile starts to fade as his eyelids droop. In just a few seconds, he slips from being wide awake and alert, to snoozing softly, head resting back against the wall.

"Oh," Kris mumbles, "how long was he on watch for? Must've been tired to be able to just doze off like that as soon as he knew someone else was awake!"

You rummage through your piles of clothes at the head of the bed and check the cute little watch that came with you newest outfit, finding the time to be a little after 5am. Dawn should be right around now.

>Any actions you wish to take for the morning? Else I'm going to timeskip to Vasa getting up.

>>

Oh SHIT that's right, we're nearly broke. Bugger... but yeah, ask Hawaiian about the boy.
>>
>>30239158
Drape a blanket over Sergei then timeskip. I'd want to put him in bed but I don't think Kris and Loli can manage that.
>>

>>30239236
maybe we can trade him a few bars of chocolate for a breakfast...

>>30239247

>>
>>30239158
You rummage about to find a spare blanket and drape it over Sergei's sleeping form, before telling Kris you'll be back in a bit. She stays in bed, watching you pick your way across the room full of sleeping men towards the stairs.

You find no-one at all in the main room of the station, though the side corridors have had their postings of guards replaced by others in the same uniforms, and Hawaiian is still leaning against the counter at his service window. You head on over to him and greet him good morning, and ask him about the boy from last night. If he knows his name, or anything about him.
"The... boy? From last night? Which boy was this? You mean one of the younger Stalkers?"

"No, no, the little boy. He was my age!" He stares at you as if you've gone mad.

"I don't know who you're referring to, but there ain't any boys around these parts, dear."

You sigh in annoyance at the lack of progress, and instead try to acquire some breakfast. "Breakfast, hah sure, sure. I got plenty. Though I'm imagining you want something on the cheap? Well, I can rustle up a meal for you for five hundred." That's out of your budget. "Hmm. Well I'm sure there's some cereal back here. Willing to part with it for say, two hundred." Still to much.
"...what is your budget, then?"

"Zero."

"..."

You stare at one another, unblinking.
"Alright, how about leftovers then? Some pudding from last night, I'll let you have his spotted dick for free."

"His... dick?" You take two steps back from the window. "Sorry, Hawaiian, but the others said I'm not allowed dick!"

He blinks twice. "Uh. What?"

"I'm sorry! Sorry for wasting your time!" you cry, as you turn and run away.
As you start down the stairs once more, a thought crosses your mind. That would've been the perfect time to find out what a dick was!

Doggy regularly disappears and reappears so nothing strange there. Nibbler fell off our shoulder during the ambush, fuck knows where she went after that. Probably just ran off again. You are now aware that Fluffy will either still be in the vicinity of Skadovsk or been shot by some random stalker.
>>
>>30239885

You spend a few more hours just sitting quietly beside Kris, waiting for the others to awake and the day to begin proper. When the first stalker starts to rouse, Kris gives Vasa a nudge awake, muttering to you that Vasa would definitely prefer being woken early to having a bunch of men wake up around her while she' still vulnerable.
Vasa rises quickly and grabs the mass of hemp and foliage beside her. You have just enough time to admire how shapely her body is, taught and honed by her tough life but still definitely feminine, before the ghillie is once again affixed around her neck, concealing her entire form. As soon as she's dressed, she turns to face you.
"Right then, time for your training, I think!"

Sorry guys! I was meaning to go on for longer/get more stuff done today, but this is about the 6th time I've been distracted by something else, before remembering that I'm supposed to be running a thread and rushing out a response.
I think it's in everyone's best interest for me to just call it for now.

Also, I'm tired and today has really sucked for me.

As per the last few threads, I'll try to stick around to answer questions, or catch them in the next thread.
