Good evenin', ladies and gents! I've brought to you from across the stars an adventure sure to please!

From the depths of another galaxy far, far away I present you with a Star Wars quest! This is a new quest, and the title may end up having nothing to do with the content. I just thought it sounded cool.

Now, if you're reading this far then I assume you're at least interested. The timeline for this piece will be set around 7 ABY. There will be some basic options for profession, moral alignment, etc. and equipment, skills, and other relevant matters will be determined by what you choose.

Also, if you guys don't know what happens around 7 ABY, the Alliance to Restore the Republic is making advances through the galaxy against the Empire, with the efforts climaxing with the capture of Coruscant. For this thread, the assault on the galactic capital will be a fast-approaching event, rendering the Inner Rim of the galaxy a dangerous war zone for the player character.

I believe that should be enough information for the introduction. You know the time and place, and a vague idea of what's going on. Let's get the character development underway.

First, what is your race?

>Human
>Devaronian
>Falleen
>Miraluka
>Other?

>>

>>
>>30135859
Wait a little longer, but its your thread so by all means, whatever you want.
>>
>>30135911
It's why I asked, I'm willing to wait if you guys aren't in a hurry. I'll eat some soup and keep an eye on the thread.
>>
>>30135546
I Vote for Falleen. Jabba is dead, the Black Suns have no leadership, and the Zann Consortium are most likely being disbanded. Perfect crime lord time.

Let's fuck bitches get credits
>>

Never said that, there are fuck loads of interesting human beings. But still, you are already human and deal with humans. It's more fun to step into another races shoes.

Neither weapons, nor the force means much if you don't know of to use it.

Also the Empire needs more people who has a better strategy then build superweapon, or get force mcguffin.

You're sitting in the meditation chamber that you had commissioned the Captain's Quarters be replaced with when you were first gifted the Shadowfall by Lord Sidious himself. Your thoughts currently are trained upon said man.

As you developed your skills, you felt that Vader, at his core, was weak. The seed of what he once was was dormant deep within him, but the Emperor was always strong in what he wanted, in his desire and power. How that upstart Jedi defeated him, you know not. All you know is that one day, Skywalker will be destroyed.

The energy in the room takes a far more agressive ambience as your anger fuels the Dark energy flowing through your meditation chamber, and you feel it energise you for the day ahead. You open your eyes, and they temporarily hodl the yellowed hue of a newly turned Sith. You blink, and they return to their near-black shade of blue. You stand, and the concentrated energy around you fades back into the flow of the Force.

You turn for the door, and walk out to the bridge. Your red Inquisitor's cloak waves slightly behind you, covering most of the uniform you'd commissioned. You only wear your cloak on Imperial worlds, or on the Shadowfall, where you know its symbolism will be respected and obeyed. The increased Rebel influence has made wearing such garments elsewhere excessively hazardous and keeps people more close-mouthed than ever.

"What's the status, Helmsman?" you ask said individual once you arrive on the bridge, and avert your eyes from the nauseating vortex of hyperspace.

"We should arrive within the quarter hour, my lord." the Helmsman says. You nod your approval. You've tracked a potential Force sensitive to [select planet]. Your job remains, however without either of the Dark Lords present it falls upon you to enlist these individuals for the Empire.

As promised, thirteen minutes pass and the alarm sounds to prepare for reversion to realspace. The Shadowfall lurches slightly and the blue whirlpool becomes white streaks, and then the image snaps to a starfield with the Dead Sith Planet Korriban taking centre stage of the view from the bridge. You gaze upon it, already able to feel the energy radiating from the planet itself. Something about this particular energy, howver much it fuels your power, seems to be... saddening. You cannot place this sense exactly, and disregard it until such a point it makes itself troublesome.

"Prepare a shuttle." you tell nobody in particular, certain your command will be obeyed. An echo of a "Yes my Lord" trails out of your audible range as you already take your leave of the bridge and head for the hangar bay. Along the path you cross with some of your personal Stormtroopers and engineers, who bow to your passing then continue on your way. In the absence of the Emperor and Lord Vader, you're now one of the highest ranking Imperial officials -- and everyone knows it.

By the time you reach the hangar bay, a Lambda-class shuttle has been prepared for your arrival, and landing on the planet's surface. To the right of the loading ramp, the shuttle's captain holds a black cloak, facial mask, and more durable gloves instead of your white dress gloves for you to wear on the planet's surface, due to the dust storms and heat known to plague the area.

"For you, my Lord." the shuttle's pilot says and you nod your thanks as you take the protective gear. It is always wise to be prepared, even if you're a powerful Imperial agent. The pilot motions for you to enter first, and you accept the gesture of respect and walk into the shuttle and take your place standing behind the copilot's seat. The pilot is shortly present as well and buckling himself into his respective seat and starting up the engines. After a short amount of time, the shuttle is lowering out of the bottom-facing hangar and extending its wings, moving off toward the planet. You take a glance back to the Shadowfall and see that it has positioned itself so its port side is facing the planet, and is slowly nearing toward the planet to maintain a geosynchronous orbit as close to the planet as a Star Destroyer can get.

"We should land withinten minutes, my Lord, but there may be delays." the pilot explains. You turn to look at him, and he feels your eyes on the back of his head, which causes him to explain further.

"There are currently heavy dust storms in the valley we must land in, so I may have to fight with nature to deliver you safely." he says, his Imperial training allowing him to keep his bearing even though you can tell your stare intimidates him. You look back to the planet so he can do his job.
>[...]
>>
>[...]
The rest of the journey between the Shadowfall and Korriban is uneventful and wordless. Once you enter the atmosphere, the shuttle jumps and you widen your stance and brace yourself on the wall of the ship. Strong updrafts and mild vortexes are generating a significant amount of turbulence that make the shuttle lurch and jump. You can tell this planet is going to be delightful already.

Alarms sound as the shuttle nears the suitable valley for landing nearest your quarry's approximate location. Dust sweeps over the wings and transparasteel window. You can hear the scraping and grinding, as though the air were made of sandpaper. You take this time to remove your crimson cloak and don the heavier black one, clip on your facial mask, and secure the gauntlet-like gloves over your white dress gloves. You raise the hood on your newly equipped cloak just in time for the shuttle to roughly det down upon the planet surface.

"We have arrived my Lord," the pilot says, "please exercise caution." he extends the last part as more of a formality than actual advice. None of your crew have any reason to doubt your abilities thus far.
>>
>[...]
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6uNffLhrk10

You exit the shuttle and are immediately greeted by a gust of wind that makes you stagger and your cloak billow perpendicular to your body. You lash out with your senses and are immediately bludgeoned by the thousands of angry Sith souls, all clawing for their rage and anguish to be heard. [END Check DC15: 9] Your head feels like it's being clawed at, and you are forced down to a knee. You fight against the cries of the damned, and [END Check DC10: 20] banish the assailants from your mind with a burst of willpower. You clear your head of their incessant nagging and rise back up to full stature. With the voices silenced, you can focus on targeting your quarry. He appears to be located up the valley, within a structure clouded by a cluster of dark energy.
>[...]
>>
>[...]
You walk forward through the valley, [PER Check DC10: 6] and trip over something. You look back and see a block of stone jutting out of the sand. [PER Check DC6: 4] You can't make out anything of what it's supposed to be, so you disregard it. You stand again, turn around, and [PER Check DC5: 21] find yourself faced with another slew of stone blocks, each of them in a circular pattern. It's hard to see due to the dust, but you reason that this must be the centre of the valley. You crouch down and investigate the blocks and see ancient runes. You cannot interperet them, but when you touch one to dust off the collected sand to see if it resembles Aurebesh, you're flooded with images of an ancient Sith academy, several Dark Lords, and a slew of other information but it's scattered and eroded just as the block is.

"That was interesting." you think to yourself, and wonder about the rest of these blocks.

>Touch more of the blocks, seeking more information on these ancient Sith.

Agreed: Investigate the blocks.

You decide that your quarry isn't going anywhere, so you move on to the next block and touch it. Your vision fades and you feel your body go into a meditative state. Your vision refocuses, but everything looks different.

[PER Check DC15: 9] You don't recognise where you are, except for the fact that you're still on Korriban. The telltake blur around the edges of your vision indicates that this is only a vision, so you resign to watch the movie, as it were.

You're standing next to an obelisk, arranged in a cicle in the centre of the valley. You realise now that you must be in the same place, but thousands of years ago. The obelisks are part of a massive excavation site and there are superstructures and Sith monoliths all around you. [INT Check DC16: 11] Something about the place rings a bell from your training, but you can't place it. All you remember is that it's a dangerous, powerful, important place.

"I don't care what you think, I'm going to get it! That fresh blood's going to do all the work for me anyway, you'll see." a woman's voice could be heard, passing near the Obelisk.

"I don't like is Lashowe," a male voice is heard, "there seems to be more to this guy than we can see." the concern in his voice is evident, and you turn to see a tall blond woman and a shorter tan-skinned man walking side-by-side to a large building toward the direction your shuttle would be parked now. They're both wearing grey uniforms vaguely reminiscent of modern Imperial dress uniforms.

"You worry too much," the woman, Lashowe, says, "everything will be fine, and I'll come out on top for it." her arrogance is disgusting, but you discipline yourself. There is no purposei n getting worked up over a vision. Your vision is forced to face the mouth of the valley, and you see a man who appears brighter than anyone else here enter the valley.

"He's heeeeerreeeee, I haaaave toooooooo geeeee...." sound slows and fades away, and a voice... no, an insistent thought enters your head and doesn't seem to go away.

"Revan." is all it says. The vision fades to black and you find yourself assailed by sand again. [INT Check DC18: 13] Like the valley, the name rings a familiar tone in your mind but you can't place it right now. You'll have to look into it later.

You stand again, and resolve that perhaps another time, you'll visit this place and learn more secrets. For now, however, you have a task and duty to fulfill. You continue your journey through the valley, images from your recent vision flickering in and out of your perception, making you realise how much this valley has changed in the unknowable amount of time that has passed. You shake the residual thoughts from your mind and focus back on the task at hand. You reach the top of the valley, where the ground levels out halfway up the jagged peaks. Your senses insist that your quarry's close by, but you only see a flat expanse of dust and rock.

[PER+LUK Check DC16: 20] You feel a slight tremor and step away from the site you were just standing at, and the rock and sand falls away to reveal a subterranean expanse some distance beneath your feet. You look down and see that it's some kind of building with ddark energy pouring out into the air from the hole. You use the Force to soften your descent and jump down into the hole, landing almost silently. You look around, [PER Check DC10: 5] but it's too dark to see very far down here. You take out a small light from your pocket and activate it. The bright, concentrated light illuminates the entire room, and [LUK Check DC18: 17] you hear a few scuffs that make you shut off the light quickly. You hear trailing footsteps running away and silently curse that you wre spotted. [PER Check DC16: 7] With how the construct echoes, you have no clear indication of which direction the footfall came from. You pull your light back out to show you the room again.

This appears to be a central chamber, and corridors branch out from it. Quite a few have caved in and are no longer accessible.

I don't suppose we could send our minions out into each direction?

if not the East id burning red, and calls to us
>>
>>30140310
I assume the Force energy in this place is too strong to have sensed what direction they went in.

I'll just say East because it's really just a 1/5 chance we pick right, and it's easier if we agree.

>>30140352
You could call in a squad of Stormtroopers, yes, but you usually hunt alone and use the soldiers if you have to deal with larger conflicts with Rebels or pirates.

Agreed: Head east

You look to a small compass on the back of your light and choose to go to the eastward corridor. It seems as good a direction as any to go. You head down the stairs, softening your footsteps as you go, and see that there are dim lights still barely active after all this time. You tuck away your light and use the dim amber glow to see and navigate. [PER Check DC16: 9] You get a bad feeling, and rightly so. You don't see a tripwire and when you step on it, you hear a series of clicks and an explosion, and the passageway behind you caves in and blocks you from accessing the central hub the way you came. [LUK Check DC15: 16] You hope to the powers that be you arern't trapped, and feel a gentle draft sweep across your cheek. You feel slightm uscle tension relax, certain there's a way out... somewhere.

You hear footfalls and hushed breathing from somewhere in here as well. At least you're both trapped for the time being. It makes the hunt easier... and more interesting.

>END

I'd best end this now. It's almost 3AM for me and I need to get some sleep. I'll pick this up again, I really enjoyed it and look forward to next time. How do I archive these again?
>>
>>30140491
You can request archival at suptg, but everything gets automatically archived at Foolz.
>>
>>30140561
Aye, a friend who does this more often than I do helped me out with suptg. Alright, I'll see you guys next time! Maybe tomorrow night, I'm not sure yet.
